#TBT to that one time I braved the cold AF ocean in a dirndl to hit 3 birds w/ one stone. If you’re a hardcore fan of @teamtotzek & @teamkapp.roehrs like I am, then you know they have a tendency to jump into water in the middle of a tournament so this #Coronado #beach #photoshoot is a direct homage to their #polarplunge proclivities. It must be a 25 & under tendency because Daniel Magnusson likes to polar plunge too 🥶 This is also a take on my favorite streamer Valkyrae’s red suit beach photo shoot. Interestingly enough, Rae is half Filipino & half German 😬 The final reason for why I did this photo shoot was purely scientific - okay maybe consumer science - I needed to do a water/wear test on the Il Makiage makeup I recently got. Props to the Urban Decay setting spray for holding down the fort. My whole body was submerged in water at one point & my makeup held up 👍 . . I never did a post-European Championships post for my Germans so I’m YOINKING the @team_schoell_harsch one & adding to it. ICYMI: @teamtotzek gave the undefeated Italians quite a chase at the #ECC2022 earlier today. The 3 vids showcase highlight reel worthy shots & great teamwork. LOL “Plan A the lucky way” 😂 I know it’s a bummer my Germans couldn’t pull off the win, but nevertheless, I am so proud of how they’ve done so far. Both the loss to SCO & ITA were in tight, close games. My Adings are hanging in there against the medal favorites. Going into the event my ideal situation was a SWE v GER final because by now we all know I love the Germans the most after the Swedes. With the way things are going, SWE & GER might be fighting over that last playoff spot at the end of the week. If they finish w/ the same records it’ll come down to LSD which I believe is on SWE’s side, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. I’m just glad my Germans are the silver lining to this event - I’m going through massive Nik Edin withdrawal & no patch can help (that’s a dad joke). Bummed that Germany’s run at #WMxCC2022 ended w/ a loss in the QF to Scotland. They were undefeated up until that point, and I was really hoping for a Germany vs Sweden final. But alas, it wasn’t meant to be. Happy I got to see my Germans competing these past few days, especially since Josh isn’t part of the regular Team Totzek lineup this season. Poor Joshi swept a lot this week, I got exhausted just watching him. I finally found out which month @sixten.totzek skip of @teamtotzek will be for the 2023 Curling Cares Calendar thanks to the latest 2 Girls and a Game podcast episode *drumroll please* Let’s now all refer to 610 as #MrMarch 👏 I guess I’ll get to look at him for an entire month leading up to my birthday next year. Andrew was making fun of me last night because he says I always come up with the weirdest things that don’t make sense for curling because I had #BabyYoda sunglasses for the team 😂 Apparently I’m slacking because I didn’t bring any goats with me last night. This was a German themed event that I planned to use to help promote 610 & the 2023 Curling Cares Calendar so it’s definitely not 🐐 or Swedish related. Yes, I do have 2 German bears for props too 🐻 What I really need to get is a German beer stein. . . Had lots of fun at OC Curling’s Oktoberfest cash spiel. Thanks Andrew, Mark, and Stephanie for joining me in representing @teamtotzek & @teamkapp.roehrs Stephanie is a newbie and had only ever played on Curl SD’s ice. She was in awe of OC’s ice. I can’t wait to take her to SCCC and Coyotes so she can experience dedicated ice (she might be on my Vagspiel team in February). . . We got so many compliments on our “Olympic” uniforms last night. I wish I could’ve been more into the theme, but there was no way I’d survive curling in a dirndl as a skip. I might consider it for when the last end gets rescheduled (we ran out of time & got chased off the ice by hockey players), but we’ll see. . .
