the date that isn’t really a date but feels like one would be so funny with suegiku, especially from tecchous perspective because unlike jouno, he doesn’t know what the others thinking. tecchou freaking out trying to read the room and consequently jouno freaking out because “why is tecchous heart racing like that?!?” and then them both being idiots and trying to act normal while not really knowing if this is a date or not 😭
hi. hope this makes up for my absence and is everything u ever wished for in life, ily.
sent from this post!!
tags: nothing too flashy really just tecchou being a massive flirt. they're both blushing like silly little skrunklies.
wc: 1.5k
i suck at making edits but i think im hilarious so here's a preview lmfao:
Tumblr media
According to Tecchou’s line of thinking— something that’s a primary source of extreme stress for Jouno— this would classify as a date.
This: with Tecchou pushing the shopping cart with his elbows perched on the handle, bored eyes casually following every move his partner makes while Jouno walks a few feet ahead of him, arms crossed behind his back as he occasionally turns his head to survey the numerous packs and bottles of condiments with a scrunch to his nose, as if the strong smells of the spices itch.
Tecchou doesn’t know how Jouno is so good at grocery shopping when all he does is sniff around, but he surely isn’t complaining. After all, the last time Tecchou was trusted to restock the Hunting Dogs’ pantry, he went way over their budget and had to pay the amount from his own wallet. He was generous, sure, but also had ‘no sense of economical responsibility’ (as Jouno so kindly put it), so he since asked his dear partner to do it with him instead.
Jouno was bribed, of course.
He would never accompany Tecchou anywhere outside of work of his own volition unless he was offered an incentive— which was the promise of having his dinner paid for after he was done doing Tecchou’s chore. Tecchou naturally obliged.
Granted, it was a far-fetched assumption. Grocery shopping wasn’t the most ideal thing to do on a first date, but Tecchou also doesn’t know what he would do on an actual first date with Jouno, if it ever happens, that is.
He unknowingly lets himself indulge in the idea of it as he trails behind Jouno, hunched over the trolly as he continues to walk in that awkward stance.
They’re both dressed in civvies, and Tecchou has to admit that Jouno looks… good, for a lack of appropriate vocabulary.
Muted tones make him look prettier than he already is. The beige cardigan that loosely sits over his shoulders bunches around at his sleeves at the hem, hiking up halfway over his palms, as if he bought it a size too big. The smooth collars of his white shirt underneath fan out over the drooping neck of the cardigan, buttoned down till the second slit to unveil a protruding set of collarbones.
Tecchou rarely gets to see Jouno out of their formal military attire, which is exactly why he can’t stop staring. He looks so gentle like this, and his hands look incredibly soft— which is another one of the things Tecchou never got the chance to see, so gets lost in the visual; his nails are trimmed and neat, filed down into perfect ovals with his skin running smooth over every crevice like he regularly uses hand cream (he might as well, considering it’s Jouno). Those hands of his weren’t a point of attraction for Tecchou before, but now that he gapes at the faint bluish green veins that stick out and cascade up his fair knuckles and through his wrist, lithe in its shape, he realises that they’re pretty, very pretty, in fact. They’re slender and steady as they brush over the items stacked in the racks and could very well be mistaken for a pianist’s hands.
Jouno halts in his tracks and smoothly twists his body to face Tecchou with an annoyed grimace scrunching up his nose, not quite breaking his stance as he does so,
“Can you shut up for a second?” he requests oh so nicely with his eyebrows creasing in the middle, “I’m trying to focus past the stench of pickle juice and your obnoxious thinking.”
Tecchou just shrugs, acting like he wasn’t vehemently ogling at the man moments ago. Almost getting caught in the act makes a sharp heat spread across his chest, so in a shit attempt at excusing himself, he humbly offers:
“You should get the pickles, though.”
Jouno’s face morphs into even more disgust.
“Why—”
“Teruko-san likes pickles.” Tecchou adds before Jouno could finish what may have been another unnecessarily abrupt question. He watches him consider this and finds himself getting lost in the way his eyelids twitch in annoyance at the reminder, light lashes flinching with his furrowed brows getting lost under the pinkish tips of his bangs that make his expression hard to read at times.
Not right now, though, when he looks so visibly irritated.
“Her wants can wait for our needs, not being able to make that distinction is what makes you the worst person for this job.” Jouno makes it sound like they’re on a mission, but he’s not wrong either. “And I can feel you staring, Tecchou-san, is there a problem?”
There’s only half a bite to that question and it truly does make Tecchou wonder if it’s another one of those rhetorical questions he isn’t supposed to answer. From the way Jouno doesn’t turn away alludes otherwise, but that doesn’t mean Tecchou will admit to getting caught.
“I like pickles too.”
Jouno scoffs.
“Who asked. Walk at least three meters away from me, you’re distracting me with that stupid heartbeat of yours.”
Jouno turns back around and huffs for no other reason than not having any smart retort to exhale under his breath.
What the hell is Suehiro looking at and why does he sound like he’s blushing?
Not being able to see the faint blush tint Jouno’s cheeks a pretty pink is a treasure that Tecchou can’t have. Not this time, at least, when they’re in a fucking grocery store.
Tecchou naturally ignores that instruction and continues following Jouno at the same distance, this time keeping his eyes on literally anything else so he doesn’t explicitly get caught and embarrass himself.
Eventually, Tecchou finds himself getting lost in thought again as he aimlessly trails behind his partner, unconsciously averting his attention to Jouno, who looks so very pretty picking off the freshest items in the racks.
He occasionally turns and asks Tecchou to recite the expiration date to him on a few packs when he feels as if his nose can’t decide if the item he’s holding is expired or just smells like it’s rotting.
That, and the fact that he can’t focus past the loud thumping of Tecchou’s heart that rings in his ear like a fucking drum.
Normally, Jouno would just resort to strangling the man to get him to comply to his wishes, but the offbeat sound of his heart make it seem like Tecchou’s just… admiring him, for whatever fucking reason.
Embarrassingly enough, he feels too sheepish to confront Tecchou about it so he just lets it be, attempting and failing to hide how those eyes feel like dry ice on his back.
Jouno just left when he was sure they got all they needed from the store, leaving his partner to deal with paying and carrying the bags back to the car. He’s sitting in the passenger side of Tecchou’s jeep with his arms crossed loosely over his chest, a thoughtful furrow between his brows as he tries to focus past the lasting effect of Tecchou’s phantom gaze on him.
Tecchou promptly hops back in the car and shuts the door. For some reason, being alone with him in such an enclosed space in such silence feels more suffocating than it was on their way to the store. Strangely, it’s deafeningly quiet for someone like Jouno.
“We should get going if you’re done staring, Tecchou-san.”
This seems to give Tecchou’s heart a kick, ultimately making a sly grin stretch across Jouno’s mouth.
Tecchou shifts in his seat, probably putting his seatbelt on. The car roars to life after a few seconds but doesn’t quite start moving yet.
Jouno turns his head in confusion towards Tecchou, wondering what the hold up is about before he senses him leaning in.
His first instinct is to lean back as much as Tecchou leans in— which he keeps doing— a furious blush quickly heating up his cheeks as he completely backs up against the door of the car, finding this invasivity of Tecchou’s quite overwhelming.
He finally halts, or his seatbelt does it for him, and reaches an arm out around Jouno who fucking shrieks when he feels a strong hand snake behind his neck…
…to grab the latch of his seatbelt.
The swishing sound of Tecchou tugging at the seatbelt and popping it into the buckle makes Jouno realise just what this asshole was trying to do.
“Safety first.” He says casually, as if he didn’t almost pull a heart attack worthy stunt on his poor partner.
Jouno just sits there, frozen against the door with a sheer look of disbelief on his face. The immediate aura of smugness that begins radiating from Tecchou morphs his shock into annoyance, which further blurs into rage.
“Do that again and you’ll catch a case.” Jouno states with determination, which only makes Tecchou huff in amusement as he pulls the car out of parking, stretching one arm behind Jouno’s seat to get a clear view of where he’s backing the car up into.
That gesture only adds fuel to the fire, so to not look like Jouno just got the worst case of whiplash, he blurts:
“You’re paying for my dessert too.”
Tecchou passes him an amused glance as he pulls into the traffic, humming contently under his breath. He wishes he could revel in the sight of Jouno’s shock, but unfortunately incoming traffic forcibly steers his attention to the road.
“Whatever you say, Jouno.”

You looked up from the paper in your hand at the sound of commotion.
You got up from your stool and made your way over to the door. However, before you could make it there, it swung open and your girlfriend, Natasha, walked in with Steve and Tony trailing behind her.
Your eyes widened at the sight of the redhead clutching her left arm, blood pouring from beneath it.
“Hi, baby. I got shot in the arm and I need you to patch me up.” Natasha spoke so casually that you didn’t even register what she said at first. When you did, you stared at her like she had grown two heads.
You gave Steve a look and he nodded, grabbing Natasha’s other arm and walking her over to the medical table. You went over to a counter and placed on some gloves.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
Natasha was laid out on the table and you nodded to the two men in the room.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“I can handle it from here. Did you guys need any help too?” Tony and Steve shook their heads.
“No, nothing some Tylenol can’t help.” Steve joked and you let out a small chuckle at that.
You watched as the two Avengers exited the room, leaving you alone with your girlfriend.
“I need to take your shirt off.” Natasha raised her eyebrows suggestively at you. You rolled your eyes at her and carefully helped her out of the material.
“I mean I don’t think having sex while I’m bleeding is a good idea, but I’m not against it.”
You softly grasped her arm and examined the injury, ignoring her flirting. The bullet wasn’t deep and there was no exit wound.
All you had to do was take the bullet out and close up the hole in her arm. Thankfully, it wasn’t anything serious.
You turned around and walked over to some shelves and drawers, retrieving the proper tools you’d need to extract the bullet and stitch up her arm.
You dragged your stool beside the bed and Natasha sent you a flirtatious smile.
“Doc, I think I’m hurt somewhere else, too.” Natasha grabbed your hand and placed it onto her abdomen, flexing her muscles.
You sent her a serious look and tore your hand out of her grip. You couldn’t believe she was flirting with you while she was literally bleeding.
“This is serious, Natasha. You’re lucky the bullet is in your arm and not somewhere fatal.”
You scolded your girlfriend, taking a needle and inserting it into her skin. It was an anesthetic that would numb the area, so Natasha wouldn’t feel a thing.
She was going to need it if you were going to shove some tweezers into her arm then stitch her skin back together.
“I’m fine, honey. You know I’ll always make it back to my favorite milf.”
You rolled your eyes at the title. Yeah, you had a five-year-old daughter. You were slightly older than Natasha.
She was 37 and you were 41. It was only a four-year gap, but Natasha never failed to tease you for the age difference.
You quickly went to work after a few minutes, just to be sure that the lidocaine had run its course.
You feared that the bullet would be hard to find, but luckily, it wasn’t. You had found it fairly easily and took it out, placing it onto a bedpan beside you.
Natasha was completely unfazed by the entire thing. This wasn’t her first time getting a bullet extracted. She was just completely entranced by you.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
She was basically gawking at you as you worked.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
Natasha admired the way your eyebrows would scrunch up in concentration, your tongue poking through your teeth as you tried to keep your hand steady.
Also, she absolutely loved how good you were at what you did. You were the best doctor in New York, which is why you were hired to work for the Avengers.
They definitely needed the best they could get considering the massive battles they always find themselves in.
Natasha had pursued you for quite a while, but you never exactly gave in. You were a professional and you knew that having a romantic relationship with a patient wasn’t right.
But she was Natasha fucking Romanoff; no one could resist her. So, eventually, after months of the redhead’s persistency, you had agreed to a date with the redhead and the rest was history.
“You almost done, doc?” Natasha asked as you placed the last few stitches into her arm. You snipped off the excess suture.
“I just finished. You know the drill, don’t move your arm around too much. You need to come back in a week or so to get them removed.”
You gave Natasha instructions as you cleaned up after yourself. However, the redhead extended her arm slowly, grabbing your wrist in her hand.
“Thank you, milfy.” You let out a small laugh at her words and Natasha smiled at the sound.
“You’re welcome, foxy.” You uttered the nickname that Natasha absolutely hated.
One day in the earlier stages of your relationship, you had referred to Natasha as a fox, her red hair reminding you of the animal.
The Russian absolutely hated it and practically fought you every time you’d call her by that name.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“You’re suddenly not my favorite milf anymore.” Natasha mumbled, letting go of your wrist, allowing you to throw away the remaining trash.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh yeah? And who is your favorite milf now?” You teasingly asked, going to sit by her side once more.
“Wanda.” You let out a full-hearted laugh at her response. You shook your head frantically.
“Well, I don’t blame you. She’s my favorite milf too.” Natasha sent you a glare. You sharply raised your eyebrow at her.
“Don’t give me that look! You mentioned Wanda first!” Natasha pouted and you leaned forward, giving her a quick peck.
When you moved back, a wide smile was now spread across the assassin’s face.
“Seriously though, you need to be more careful. I know you have me to help you out, but that doesn’t mean you need to get hurt all the time.”
You frowned and Natasha stared into your eyes softly, her green irises shining with love.
“I promise I’ll be more careful, but you gotta admit that it’s fun being able to see these guns. Come on, admit it, it’s fun.”
Natasha flexed her good arm, showing off her toned muscles. She also clenched her stomach, accentuating her abs.
You let out a dramatic sigh, placing your hand on top of her stomach.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“It’s fun to see those guns.”
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“See! I knew it. I knew you liked them.”

I. FRESH MEAT
Percy J. x Child of Ares!Reader
ODDS AND ENDS MASTERLIST
chapter 2
Tumblr media
The summer sun was shinning into you face causes you to scrunch up your brows. Walking right back into the cabin you toss your black jean jacket onto your bed, the forecast was wrong again. “Cool breezes for until the night!” They spoke such lies.
Leaving the Cabin again with the bright orange shirt you mainly had to wear here, you leave off to take a stroll but see a young boy sitting in a chair in front of the farm house slowly opening his eyes. Tilting your head you walk over to Grover who was sitting next to him which he had his hands resting in his lap.
“Who’s the guy?” You ask crossing your arms. He had tan skin and jet black, fluffy hair. He slowly looked around the camp, he was confused. He looked really confused. He tried getting up but Grover kept him in his spot, “Careful..” he states putting the boy back into his seat.
Grover turned to look at you and told you that this boy’s name is Percy Jackson and he’s also a demigod. “His mother and him were attacked by a Minotaur and he well, he killed it.” Your eyes widened in shock. This new kid killed a Minotaur? Diverting your eyes to look at him you run up and grab him by the shoulders shaking him a little. “How did you do it? I mean you look so scrawny it’s confusing!” He was still coming to himself and barely sounded like he could talk.
“Y/N let go of him!” Grover then took you by the shoulders and pushed you away a little, the boy- Percy, was now sitting up a little more. Shaking Grover off you study him a little more. He had sea green eyes, was a little thin for his body shape, fluffy hair, his tan skin complemented his eyes a lot. Shaking off the last part you look at Grover.
“There’s no way someone skinny like him had the strength to kill a Minotaur?” Taking a step forward you lower your body down to his height from the chair he was sitting in. “I’m keeping my eye on you Jackson…” Leaving off to that stroll you had planned you take one last look at the two of them.
“Did you see the new guy?” Annabeth asks you as you make the 5th loom bracelet of the day. “Yes, I don’t have a good feeling about him..” You state placing the bracelet around your wrist full of strange color arrangements. She tilts her head, “Why so?”
You stand up from your chair, “I don’t know, I feel like he’s gonna put us into a lot of trouble sooner or later…” Annabeth rolls her eyes, “Well Chiron is showing him all of the Cabins right now, what if he gets put into your cabin for the time being?” You shiver in response, you didn’t want him in there for some reason. Ares kids were quick to hold grudges, some of the grudges you didn’t know why you had- like this one.
“Well he better be put into Hermes cabin like the rest of the new comers! And if he isn’t he better like the ‘toilet-dunking’ tradition.” You smirk and Annabeth rolls her eyes again diverting her vision back to the loom. “Of course he’s going to be put into Hermes cabin for the time being until his Godly parent claims him.” She mocks you while finishing up the bracelet. “Hopefully soon…” you leave off to grab your jacket from the cabin, the winds started to pick up.
As you got to your cabin Chiron and Percy were near by. You walked faster towards the door as Clarisse walked out nearly hitting you in the face with it. “Hey!” You yell taking a step back having your arm in front of you as if someone was about to attack. “It’s just me.” She states and looks to her left to see the new kid. She gives him a nasty look and his eyes widen. Clarisse has honestly always been scary, ever since she was younger.
The two walk away and you push her a little. “I know we’re the kids of the War God, but tone it down a little..” You state straightening your posture, she laughs. “You’re telling me to tone down?” Even with you standing tall at about 5’2 she still was towering over you. “You run out of breath just by wielding a sword for 3 minutes!” Clarisse bursts out laughing and you grunt walking past her inside to retrieve your Jean jacket. “Can’t even properly fight how did Ares even claim you?” Others could probably hear her laughter, maybe even the whole camp at this point. You grabbed your jacket and left the premise to practice by yourself.
You rarely practiced your swordsman ship, Luke offered to assist you but you declined. You knew what to do, after all your an Ares kid, but you didn’t have the endurance or physical stamina like the others. You had a spear in which you used most of the time. With the spear you could defend yourself and attack easier. Basically you asked one of the kids from Hephaestus to help you make one. It wasn’t a gift from Ares like the one Clarisse or the others had. He never gave you one, just claimed you and went on with his life or whatever he had. Sometimes you wish he never claimed you so you could stay in Hermes cabin for the time being.
The one you have has a tightly tied red and orange cloth around it with the vulture feather you were claimed with on it, the stick being a metal pipe and the blade being sharp iron. With the press of a button it could be turned back into a small piece of metal, yes the others at the cabin made fun of you for it but if you were to go on a quest it would be easier to hide. Practicing your defense and offense you nearly stab Luke.
“Ah!” You yell pulling the spear away from his head. “I nearly killed you!” Yelling you step back. “That won’t kill me, Y/N…” He states sitting on a rock. “Why are you here?” Straightening your back you lift up your head a little as well. “You know the new kid right?” You nod your head. “Well he’s been put into my cabin but Chiron was thinking of putting him into your cabin at first until he got claimed.” You roll your eyes, “Yeah I know- cause he killed that Minotaur.” He nods with a smile, “So you’ve heard the story?” Nodding you put your spear away, you try to walk past but Luke grabs your hand. “He asked me for your name, he wants to get to know you.” You stop in your tracks and turn to look at him, “He what?”
‘Why does he want to get to know me? I told him that I’ll keep a watch on him, I want him to fear me not be friends with me!’ You thought to yourself. “So, did you tell him?” Luke chuckled, “He said your name is pretty.” Your face became red, beet red. The Hermes kid laughed, you punched him in the arm. “Ouch! Keep that strength of yours in check vulture.” That nickname would never leave you, all because of your first day at this camp.
You were out in the woods for a while, but by the time you came into camp you ate all of the food that was given to you in an instant. Yes it embarrassing but at least the others found it amusing. Plus Clarisse had stood up and patted your back and said that you were a vulture so Luke took a liking to the nickname.
“Clarisse and the rest of your cabin were bullying the kid, tried dunking his head in the toilet.” Luke stated letting go of your hand and turning his body to you completely. “Heard the pipes burst and I ran to the cabin, the guy didn’t have a single drop of water on him.” Your eyes widened, “He didn’t?” Luke nods, “He’s probably you know-” You cut Luke off with your hand, “They promised not to have any kids remember?” You tried reminding the guy but he wouldn’t listen.
“I mean, imagine!” Luke smiled, he had hope that the kid could be one of the big three’s kids. You sighed it off and walked back to camp waving him a goodbye, he usually stayed out there for a while just to get some more fresh air.
As you was walking back to my cabin, you hear a pair of footsteps trailing behind you. Quickly turning around you see it’s the newbie. “What do you want?” “What’s the main reason why Annabeth keeps on saying I’m “the one”?” He says stepping closer, he was now only two steps in front of you. You didn’t want to tell him, but what if he was the one.
“Look, Chiron told the both of us we were destined to go on a quest together but not for a little while, only until someone special came to camp…” He tilted his head, “You guys think I’m the special one?” He must have been acting stupid. “You literally didn’t get water on you from a broken pipe what if you are the special one we go on the quest with?” You say grabbing his arms with your tight grip. “Let go please.” He says shaking a little. “Oh sorry…” you say forgetting your strength. “But yeah, you could be the one for the quest, not many people have gone on quests since what ever happened on Luke’s…” Percy looked confused, “What happened?” You sighed, “I don’t know, he won’t tell us.” Percy nods and goes back to his cabin as dinner was about to start.
You felt strange, he was getting too close to you- It felt weird, no one was ever that nice to you other than Luke or Annabeth. Yes you should be open to friendships like the rest of them but you needed to know where this new comer belonged.

Tumblr media
When Sunday rolled around, I did everything in my power to make it the perfect day for Anna. We went out for breakfast at a café around the corner, a stroll around the park, then I made her lunch before she conked out afterwards, napping in her bedroom. I took that as my chance to decorate the living-area with birthday decorations. Nothing too much as I knew she'd kill me if I went overboard, but little things like a banner, some balloons and streamers.
I told Wanda to come at this time, too, and she showed up with a bag of groceries and a pretty smile on her face.
"Here, let me help," I said, already moving to take the bag off her. "How are you?"
"I'm good," she said, closing the door behind her and following me into the kitchen. Her smile widened when she saw the decorations. "Y/N, this is lovely! Anna is going to love it!"
"You think?" I asked, spinning around and doing a once over of the living-area. "It's not too much? I know she'll hate if I do too much."
"It's just the right amount," Wanda reassured, glancing at me. "How has she been today?"
We both began to unpack the groceries as we talked.
"Really good actually," I said with a nod. "I treated her to breakfast at that café she likes. We went to the park, fed the ducks, had a nice stroll. Then I made her some lunch and she's napping which leaves us the perfect time to crack on with dinner."
Wanda chuckled. "Great." She paused, making me look to her to see her smile fading. Nervously, she asked, "Did her granddaughter call?"
I sighed quietly and Wanda seemed to know what that meant without me saying anything further.
"It's okay, we'll just have to make this the best meal ever," she said, not letting it get to her.
"We will," I agreed, before looking to the food on the table. "So, chef. Where do we start?"
Wanda and I spent the next hour prepping dinner, a beef stew called Solyanka, as it would require two hours to cook on the stove so we were starting early to make sure it would be ready in time.
I was chopping some onions as she prepared the beef, but I couldn't help myself from glancing at her every two seconds, still filled with concern because of her cast and minor injuries.
"You should take a picture, it'll last longer," she said teasingly, making me look up to see her watching me with a stifled smile.
"Sorry," I mumbled, shaking my head and looking back to my chopping board.
"What's wrong?" she asked gently.
I chewed on my lip as I glanced at her wrist again, before meeting her gaze. "How did it happen?"
"I already told you," she reminded me playfully, trying to lighten the mood, but I was still fretful. "It happened on a mission."
"Yeah, but how?" I asked again, hoping she understood what I meant.
She seemed reluctant to share, face scrunching up with thought, before looking down to her own chopping board. I thought she wouldn't tell me, but then she spoke.
"I can't tell you too much," she started, shrugging, "since it was a confidential mission. But basically, I was undercover when my target recognised me and we got into a fight."
Watching her with the utmost attention, I nodded, imagining it in my head.
"It wasn't difficult or anything, but it surprised me, y'know?" She looked to me with a smile, as if trying to make it sound less scarier than it was. "The guy, the target, he managed to get in few good hits. And he sprained my wrist. But it's alright."
I wasn't as amused as she was, wincing at the thought of her being in a fight. "Are you sure you're alright?"
She tilted her head knowingly. "I'm sure, Y/N. It's my job."
Shaking my head, I looked back down to my chopping board and continued chopping the onion. "I don't know how you can do that as a job..."
"Well, it's rewarding," she said like it was obvious. "Why do you spend most of your week caring for the elderly?"
"It's rewarding," I said without hesitation, before realising what she'd done and looking her way.
She was smiling cockily, making me roll my eyes and laugh.
"Okay, I see your point," I gave in. "But still. It's a dangerous job what you do. Just be careful, yeah?"
"Always am," she promised. And I wanted to believe her, but the cast on her wrist said otherwise.
"It smells like home, devochki, spasibo (girls, thank you)," Anna said from her place at the table. "Are you sure you don't want me to help?"
"We're sure, Anna," Wanda called back to her. "I'm just putting the food into a serving bowl and Y/N is grabbing some glasses. You sit and wait like the patient woman I know you are."
Anna mumbled something in Russian which I didn't understand, but it seemed to make Wanda chuckle as she rolled her eyes.
It was finally time for dinner and the stew had turned out beautifully, not that I had doubts since Wanda didn't seem like one to kid around with cooking.
As she was readying it for the table, I was setting everything up and all that was left were the glasses. But, of course (and oddly enough, since Anna was shorter than I), they were stored on the top shelf of the kitchen cupboard and just out of my reach.
In hindsight, I probably could have grabbed a stool and stood on it, but I was too lazy, so I went on my tip-toes and stretched with all my might. The tips of my fingers brushed against a glass and I attempted to move it towards me, unable to see if I was actually doing anything since it was too high. After a couple of tries, I managed to bring it forward, but my stupid self flicked it too hard and it came tumbling off the shelf and towards the counter.
I braced myself for the sound of glass smashing, but instead, a wondrous red energy wrapped itself around the glass and kept it suspended mid-fall.
"Very clever," Wanda said sarcastically, appearing directly beside me. Her accent was daringly teasing.
I looked up and saw her smirking at me with amusement, right hand raised and aimed at the glass. Red tendrils of energy glowed around her hand and the glass; I widened my eyes a little, amazed at how easy she made it look. Though I knew she had powers, I'd never actually seen her use them up close and personal. It was stunning.
"I totally knew you were going to do that," I played it cool, cheeks flushing as she set the glass on the counter.
"Mhm, sure you did," she played along with a melodious laugh, before pressing her front to my back without warning and reaching to grab two more glasses. "Here, I got it."
My body tensed at the feeling of her unexpectedly so close to me. My mouth went dry, her warmth emanating from her and washing over me with the scent of her perfume. Did she always smell so good?
When she grabbed all three glasses, she didn't seem to notice the effect she had on me (unless she did and kept quiet for her own amusement).
"Think you can grab the food without dropping it?" she asked, quirking an entertained brow.
Still distracted by her perfume, I nodded and cleared my throat. "Food. Right. Yeah."
As I stirred the stew to mix everything thoroughly, I felt my heart rate return to its normal pace and told myself to chill out. Wanda just happened to be an extremely pretty individual who was kind and thoughtful and funny. It wasn't a big deal.
When I was sure I wouldn't make a fool of myself, I returned to the dining table with a pot of stew and set it down on the placemat.
"Priyatnogo appetita (enjoy your meal)," I said, trying not to stumble over my pronunciation.
Both Anna and Wanda raised their brows with matching surprised smiles on their faces.
"You said that perfectly, Y/N!" Wanda said encouragingly, as I took a seat to the right of Anna at the head of the table.
"I see you've been practicing," Anna added, looking to me with an endearing gaze. "A present in itself. Thank you, milaya (sweetie)."
I smiled bashfully. "I have to keep up with you both somehow, right?"
Anna chuckled as Wanda gave me a brilliant smile. Something in my chest stirred as she did, and I was forced to look away, though my own smile didn't fade.
"So, Y/N and I put this together for you and I'm sure you'll know what it is," Wanda said, before serving up a bowl for Anna.
"Solyanka," Anna exclaimed with delight. "Devushki (girls), this looks and smells amazing." She paused, glancing between us both with a grateful smile. "Since you've both been here, this place... it's beginning to feel alive again."
To my surprise, she teared up and began to laugh, using her napkin to pat the corner of her eyes. I rested my hand on hers, squeezing it gently and giving her a small smile.
"I appreciate this very much," she continued, before squeezing my hand and letting go to grab her spoon. "I can't wait to try it."
The three of us dug into our stew and Anna loved it, talking about the first time she ever had it as a kid and how it was one of her favourite dishes. The rest of the meal went by wonderfully, with Anna looking as happy as ever and Wanda listening to her intently. I was listening, too, but my gaze did end up wandering to Wanda as she sat there animatedly, nodding along and smiling to Anna.
For some reason, she was ethereal tonight, though she looked like she always did. Her long brown hair was tied up in a ponytail and she wore a loose tee shirt over some jeans. Nothing fancy, but she pulled it off so well. Rings adorned her fingers as she played with them thoughtlessly, and it caught my eye before I got distracted by her cast on her left wrist.
She'd said she was okay, but it still worried me. It wasn't my right to worry, but she was my friend. I was concerned. She could take care of herself, but that wouldn't put the ache in my heart at ease.
As if she could hear my concerns, her eyes flickered to mine, a kaleidoscope of blue, green and gold. She sent me a reassuring glance before looking back to Anna with focus. I chewed on my lower lip, trying not to let my worry get the best of me, before looking back to Anna.
Towards the end of the meal, after we'd eaten and were merely conversing, Anna's landline rang in the apartment.
"I'll get it," Wanda said, already standing up to grab the phone from its cradle.
Anna and I watched as she answered the phone with a friendly 'hello', before a surprised expression appeared on her face.
"Sure, I'll pass it on now," Wanda was saying before approaching the table and stopping by Anna. Her expression softened as she said to Anna, "It's Sasha."
Anna's expression fell at the mention of her granddaughter. She nodded slightly, before standing up and grabbing her cane to balance. Accepting the phone, she began to walk away into her bedroom. Wanda and I heard her say a faint 'hello' before she closed the door behind her.
"Her granddaughter rang?" I asked with mild disbelief.
"It is her birthday," Wanda pointed out, returning to her seat.
"Bit late into the day though, isn't it?" I retorted, pulling a face. "Almost like the day is over, in fact."
"Sounding a little judgemental there, Y/N," Wanda teased, leaning forward into the palm of her hands and watching me.
"I'm not," I said with an eye roll. "I just think she should show her grandmother some respect. Who does she think she is?"
I paused as Wanda gave me a knowing look, then winced.
"Okay, I heard it that time," I admitted, making her laugh.
"I get it," she said, nodding slightly. "Maybe she's finally starting to realise though."
I sighed, leaning back in my seat. "I guess... For Anna's sake, I hope so."
Wanda and I talked amongst ourselves until Anna returned silently, hushing our conversation. She returned the phone to its cradle before taking a seat at the head of the table. Wanda and I exchanged looks before I decided to speak, noticing Anna wouldn't.
"Is Sasha doing okay?" I asked gently.
Anna was staring ahead, barely listening, before she glanced at me then looked down to her empty bowl. Sentences left her lips in Russian, mumbled and incoherent, at least to me. Wanda leaned forward, holding her hand and frowning with sympathy as she listened to her words. I felt horrible, sensing something was wrong, but unable to do anything to help.
"I'm sorry, Anna, I didn't mean to upset you," I said, shaking my head.
Wanda met my gaze. "It's not your fault... Anna just misses Sasha."
I frowned. "Oh."
"But I'm glad I have you both," Anna finally spoke, accent thick with emotion, as she looked between us before settling her eyes to me. "Even if you're paid to be here."
She cracked a smile, making my shoulders relax. I returned her expression, glad she still had a sense of humour.
Anna didn't mention Sasha's name for the rest of the evening. We cleaned up, had some tea, played a quick board game before I made sure she was okay for the night.
"She alright?" Wanda asked when I closed Anna's bedroom door and stepped into the hall.
"Yeah, she's tired from all of today's excitement," I said with a smile.
"So are you by the sounds of it," she joked, but stepped forward to rest a hand on my arm. "I think we should call it a night."
"I think we should," I said in agreement.
After grabbing my stuff, Wanda and I left the flat before walking to her apartment and stopping outside.
"Thanks for helping me out today," I told her with a tired smile. "I really appreciated it."
"Well, you asked so nicely... how could I resist?" she said, staring up at me through her eyelashes. I rolled my eyes playfully, making her smile. "I had fun. Thanks for inviting me."
I was going to respond, but a yawn escaped my lips, prompting me to cover my mouth as I did.
"Sorry," I said, trying to blink the fatigue away momentarily.
She chuckled, tilting her head and watching me carefully. "You're cute."
I breathed out through my nose, unsure what to say to her words, but I definitely felt my heart rate speed up a little.
"I'll let you go," she said, clearly entertained by my silence. "Get home safe, yeah?"
"And you look after yourself when saving the world, yeah?" I replied with a quirked brow, eyes glancing at her wrist.
"I promise." She grinned before moving forward to hug me.
I returned the hug, the smell of her perfume permanent in my nose by now, before pulling away with a final smile. Of course, I probably shouldn't have stared at her lips so intensely, wanting nothing more than to kiss them.
"See you tomorrow," I said, snapping back into reality and taking a step back. "Goodnight, Wanda."
"Goodnight," she said sweetly.
I turned to leave and was suddenly wide awake. Did I just think about kissing Wanda?
It was a few visits later when I was caring for Anna and she decided to have a dance around the living room. One minute we were flicking through different radio stations, and the next she was putting on some old records on her record player. She settled on an upbeat, 50s dance song, the music filling the apartment with joy.
"Egor and I danced to this very song when we first met," she told me, talking about her late husband with a twinkling passion in her eyes. "It was a party and he had been staring at me all night, and I him. Then finally, when this song came on, he approached me and said, 'dorogaya, okazyvayesh' mne chest' tantsevat' so mnoy?'"
I suppressed a smile as I watched her reminisce. "And that means...?"
"'Darling, would you do me the honour of dancing with me'?" she repeated in English for my benefit.
My heart melted. "Anna, that's adorable. He sounds like such a gentlemen."
"He was," she said with a sigh of agreement, smiling to herself.
Whenever she talked about her husband, I'd never seen her look more content. The mere mention of his name was enough to put a smile on her face. I could only hope to have a love like theirs some day.
I stepped forward, putting out my hand. "I'm no Egor, but I'd love to dance with you if you'd let me."
"Oh, I can't do that," she said, waving my hand away. "I can barely walk, milaya (sweetie)."
"Hey, as your carer, I am insisting that you dance with me," I said, feigning sternness.
She hesitated, before resting her hand in mine and smiling with gratitude. The two of us danced together, myself being careful to keep her upright and make sure she didn't overexert herself. She was smiling and laughing as I spun her around, dancing her all around the living room, and it warmed my heart to see her so cheery.
A knock on the door caused me to excuse myself from Anna, only to find Wanda on the other end.
"Someone's in a good mood," she said instantly, taking note of my smile.
I stepped to the side to let her in. "Yeah, well, Anna is doing good today. It's contagious, what can I say?"
Before Wanda could respond, Anna called from the living-area with excitement.
"Wanda, idi syuda i potantsuy so mnoy!" she exclaimed, already grabbing Wanda's hand and pulling her in.
It didn't take a genius to know that Anna had basically asked Wanda to dance with her. I chuckled as I followed after them, enjoying the sight of Anna and Wanda dancing together.
"What's the occasion?" Wanda asked, glancing over the short woman and to me with a helpless smile.
"No occasion," I quipped, crossing my arms and trying to hold in my laughter at Anna's speed and perseverance with a reluctant Wanda. "Just having a good time."
Wanda looked like she wanted to retort with a comment, but Anna spun her around before she could, making me laugh aloud.
"Prikhodi odin, milaya (come on, sweetie)!" Anna said, holding out a hand. "Dance!"
Unable to resist, I joined in with the two Sokovian women, appreciating how happy Anna looked and how awkward Wanda felt in the situation. She wasn't much of a dancer, but she was trying and God was that adorable.
We danced for a little while longer until Anna's back began to hurt and she took a seat. Though, she insisted that Wanda and I resume with our dancing.
Just on time, like a sign from the universe or a higher being or whatever you wanted to believe in, a slow song came on next, filling the apartment soothingly.
To my surprise, the awkward dancer that was Wanda was oddly confident as she held out her hand to me.
"Would you do me the honour of dancing with me?" she asked softly, a small smile playing on her lips.
At the familiarity of her words, I glanced to Anna, who seemed to pick up on it, too. She said nothing as she watched us with a smile of her own.
"I'd love to," I said, looking back to Wanda's eyes.
They looked blue in the light, a beautiful sky blue that put me at ease as soon as I stared into them. I slipped my hand into hers, letting her pull us closer together as she rested her other hand on my waist, the touch sending shivers up my spine. I put mine on her shoulder, allowing her to take the lead.
It was the most intimate we'd been, and as she maintained eye contact, I wondered if she could feel my hands trembling slightly, or my heart hammering loudly, or my palms turning a little sweaty. She made me nervous in the best way possible, her smile dazzling without realising and her eyes piercing without meaning to be.
She must have felt it, too, that tug in the pit of her stomach that I was feeling now. Otherwise there was something seriously wrong and I was already too deep into a crush on my patient's neighbour.
When the song ended, it feeling like mere seconds in total, she let go of me and I missed the contact and the smell of her perfume and the way she was looking at me.
"Couldn't have done it better myself," Anna spoke, forcing me to tear my gaze from Wanda's lips. She smiled at me knowingly. "You ladies definitely know how to dance."
I felt a heat creeping up my neck as I smiled to myself, distracting myself with the laces on my shoes. When I finally brought myself to look up, I saw Wanda already looking my way, a calm expression on her face.
As she did most times she visited, Wanda stayed with me and Anna until I tucked Anna into bed and bid her a goodnight. We left the apartment and Wanda decided to walk me to the lift that evening, a distracted look on her face.
It was silent between us, a comfortable one, until the doors slid open and I looked to her with kind eyes.
"I guess I'll see you tomorrow," I told her, making her look to me. "Have a nice evening, Wanda."
She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. I watched with amusement, wondering what was going on in that pretty head of hers. The lift doors began to shut, so I put my foot between them to keep them open.
"I should go," I said with an awkward laugh, before grabbing her hand and squeezing it gently since she wouldn't speak. "Goodnight."
When I turned to leave, I got, maybe, a step into the lift before I felt her fingers wrap around my wrist and tug me backwards, spinning me around. I didn't get chance to ask what was up as she stepped forward, pressing her lips to mine in an instant.
Startled, I froze at the contact, but then her hand rested on the back of my neck as her thumb caressed my jaw, and I found myself melting into her, closing my eyes at the blissful feeling.
Her other hand fell to my waist as she deepened the kiss, sending me into the lift and the wall hitting my back. I moved my lips in time with hers, revelling at how soft and delicate and gentle she was being. Kissing Wanda Maximoff wasn't something I had realised would be this good, but now that I was, I never wanted to stop.
Unfortunately, the sound of the lift doors shutting pulled us apart. I was breathless, my heart racing and my lips swollen from her spectacular kiss.
"I've wanted to do that for such a long time," she revealed, stepping back a little. Her eyes were bright and her cheeks were flushed as she watched me with mild concern. "I completely should have asked though. I'm sorry that I overstepped."
She pursed her lips, forefinger and thumb pinching her bottom lip regretfully and gaze falling to the floor.
"You didn't overstep," I said, already missing the sensation of her lips against mine. "You stepped just the right amount."
She looked back up, eyes softening as her lips curved into a radiant smile.
"You wanna, maybe, do that again?" I asked without thinking, my mind a haze as Wanda still remained so close to me.
She laughed melodiously before raising her hand and cupping my cheek. Her eyes looked between mine before falling to my lips affectionately.
"I'd love to, dorogoy (darling)."
I smiled toothlessly before closing the gap between us, secretly wishing this lift ride would go on forever if it meant I could kiss Wanda like this.
After making out with Wanda in the lift, she asked me out on a date and it was the best date I'd ever been on. Nothing over the top but very thoughtful as she took me for a picnic in the park before getting ice cream for dessert.
We went on a few more dates after that, taking turns to take the lead with them, and she ended up asking me to be her girlfriend which of course I said yes to.
All whilst this was going on, I still cared for Anna and Wanda paid her visits when she could, though we tried to remain as normal as possible. We didn't think it was best to tell Anna that we were together since we didn't want to startle her or make her feel uncomfortable in our presence. Of course, keeping a secret from Anna is as good as nothing when she had eyes like a hawk.
Wanda and I were putting a plate of tea and biscuits together for Anna one day, myself lining up the biscuits neatly as Wanda lingered beside me. She was about to grab a biscuit from the plate when I smacked her hand away.
"Just one," she pleaded, but I shook my head before nodding to the packet on the side.
"Help yourself to those," I told her condescendingly. "These are for Anna."
"Just get her another," she said simply, before reaching over again.
I smacked her hand away again, giving her a knowing look.
"Y/N!"
"Wanda!" I mirrored her childish smile.
She narrowed her eyes petulantly. "Are you seriously doing this right now?"
"Are you?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
She pouted and I so badly wanted to lean forward and kiss it away, but Anna was sat on her recliner behind us. Wanda seemed to know this as a mischievous smile fell on her lips, eyes watching me carefully.
"You're not cute," I mumbled, before grabbing the tray and turning to leave. As I was walking to Anna, a biscuit began to float off the plate, red wisps of energy wrapped around it and bringing it to– "Wanda!"
She laughed, eyes glowing red with magic, before grabbing the biscuit from mid-air and taking a bite.
"Such a child," I said under my breath before setting the tray on the coffee table before Anna. Smiling at her, I said, "Here you go, Anna. Do you want anything else?"
As I straightened up, flipping Wanda off behind my back and encouraging her laughter further, I noticed the way Anna looked between us both curiously.
"Everything okay?" I asked, eyebrows knitting together as she continued to study us both.
"Something happened," she decided. "Between you both."
"What do you mean?" I asked, taking a seat on the couch. "Nothing happened."
"Something definitely did," she said knowingly. "I may be old, milaya (sweetie), but I have very good eyes."
"Anna, what are you talking about?" Wanda played dumb, taking a seat beside me, biscuit in hand.
"Don't think I haven't seen the way you two steal glances when you think I'm not looking," she said, pointing between us. "Or the way you," her finger settled on Wanda, "have been helping Y/N out more often than usual."
Wanda and I flushed, embarrassed that we'd been caught out. I was so certain that we'd successfully hid it from her, but clearly we were mistaken.
"We wanted to tell you," Wanda began, cheeks still pink as she leaned forward.
Anna silenced her with a wave of her hand. "Save it. I knew I was right. You two are together."
Pursing my lips, I waited for her to say something because I wasn't really sure what to say myself. Suddenly, a smile appeared on her lips.
"I'm very happy for you both," she said to us. "Wanda here always needed somebody in her life who wasn't me. And you, Y/N, are the perfect match for her."
I chuckled, looking to the girl in question, whose face was as red as her powers that she used to torment me with. I grabbed her hand, squeezing it gently, and nudged her in the shoulder.
"You hear that? Perfect match," I teased, making her roll her eyes to distract from her flustered self.
Anna said something to her in Russian, way too fast and incomprehensible for me to understand, even with the extra effort I was making to learn it. Whatever it was, it made Wanda get even more embarrassed, her green eyes darting around the room in an effort to overcome it.
"What did you say?" I asked Anna with amusement.
"Oh, nothing Wanda hasn't heard before," she said dismissively. "It's all okay. Isn't it, Wanda?"
"Yeah," Wanda mumbled.
"I don't know what's happening here, but I'm all for someone putting Wanda in her place," I said, looking between them both with an entertained smile.
Anna chuckled as Wanda shoved me in the arm gently before pulling me close again. I smiled at how cute she looked, pink blush creeping up her neck and teeth chewing on her lower lip to contain her smile.
I'd never get sick of the sight.

The Princess and The Pogue (pt. 3)
Pairing: JJ x Female!Reader / Topper x Female!Reader
Warnings: underage drinking, mild swearing, mentions of drugs
Words count: 2k (it’s short but the next part is long)
Part Summary: As the night dwindles away, JJ feels pressured to secure a place in your life. His chances grow times ten when Sarah arrives with some interesting news.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
You and JJ share a log around the fire. His arm rests over your thigh, his hand gripping your knee slightly. Your chin rests on his shoulder as you two exchange whisper back and forth, making the Pogues sick with how lovey-dovey you two already are becoming.
“What are you doing tomorrow?” JJ asks, kinda hoping he could ask you for real date but he’ll understand if you already have plans.
“Hanging out with you,” you cheekily answer, earning a blushing grin from him.
“Oh! cool, cool...” He presses his lips together with a faint laugh, finding it hard to hide his childish grin.
You giggle at his bashfulness. He’s so shy around you and you can’t help but find it adorable.
"Here comes Sarah!" Kiara announces as he spots their friend's car rolling up the drive.
You and JJ finally break your hype-focused attention away from each other. Almost to make up for the lack of verbal communication, JJ shifts closer to you and plants a quick peck to your temple.
"Hey! Sorry for the delay!" Sarah announces as she walks over from her car. John B rises from his position, trying to intercept Sarah before she sees you and JJ. Once she reaches John B, she notices how you and JJ are sitting. Her brows scrunch together, but she does her best to mask her confusion. "My parents were having a hissy fit about me borrowing the car. I told them and Y/N's parents that we were staying the night at Kiara's since she doesn't feel well. I hope that's okay, Kie," she asks as she gets closer to the bonfire.
"Yeah, no problem!" Kiara waves her hand, not caring at all.
"Wait, so what's the game plan?" You ask Sarah, but also everyone else for their input. You're thankful for the group's help, but weren't exactly prepared for an overnight stay. You understand why Sarah did this nonetheless.
"You all can stay here tonight," John B shrugs as the Pogues do it all the time.
"Your parents believed it," Sarah assures you. "I would just text your parents to help it seem more legit."
"Okay! I'll text my mom," you comply with enthusiasm.
Hey, I told Sarah to tell you but in case she didn't, we're staying over at Kiara's tonight. I had to drive her home in her dad's car because we think she got food poisoning or something. I'll text you when I'm heading out in the morning. Sarah can drive me home or something :)
"Finally! It'll be nice not being the only girl! I was kinda hoping you and Sarah would stay over anyway," Kiara adds, offering you a kind smile.
"That makes two of us," JJ whispers for only you to hear.
"My folks were pretty pissed about me ditching on the party, so I feel no urge on going home," Sarah huffs, right as John B asks for her to help him inside real quick.
You and JJ watch as John B escorts Sarah inside by the arm. They try to be nonchalant, but it's so obvious they're freaking out. Sarah's whispers aren't exactly quiet and John B's doing his best to fill her in on what he knows.
JJ turns his face toward yours with a smirk, suppressing his laughter. "They're definitely talking about us."
"Oh for sure!" You nod slowly with a snicker.
You two share in your amusement as your friends slowly lose their minds. A Pogue from The Cut was caught kissing the Princess of the OBX. If your friends from the other side of the island found out they would have an even more dramatic reaction.
Your phone buzzes in your lap and it's from your mom.
Ok. Text me when you wake up.
"All set!" You voice to everyone remaining around the fire. "I doubt they'll even care since "I'm still on the Figure 8,” you make air quotes.
"Yay!" Kiara claps her hands.
"I say we watch a scary movie tonight!" JJ suggests beside you.
"The Conjuring!" You vote swiftly, earning a laugh from JJ.
"No!" Pope instantly refuses. "Nope! Last time we watched that you guys made me sleep on the porch and I heard creeks all night!"
"Aw, I'll stay with you tonight Pope," Kiara offers, reaching for her friend's hand with a pout. "I'll keep you safe from all the ghosties."
JJ leans in brushes his lips against your ear. "You gonna keep me safe?"
You smile softly, turning your head toward him as you nod slowly. "I'll have your back if you have mine."
His beautiful eyes meet yours in the gold flickering light of the fire. "Always, Baby." He plants a kiss to your lips, this time slow and comforting, as though you two have been doing it forever.
___________________________________________________________
All six of you are gathered in the living room, watching The Conjuring. John B and JJ insisted that all lights in the house must be off, much to Pope's dismay. Kiara and Pope are positioned on the carpet, their backs against the couch. Pope has been hiding in a ball with his face behind the blanket he shares with Kiara. Sarah and John B are sprawled comfortably on the couch, well invested in the movie. You and JJ share the old red recliner, tucked close in a ball under a comforter. Right before the movie starts to get interesting, you shift forward in your position. JJ whines, disappointed in the loss of contact. His pouty face makes you giggle and he playfully tries to keep you close by holding onto your wrist.
"I need another drink, anyone else?" You offer quietly, making sure not to step on Kiara or Pope on the floor on the way to the kitchen. You receive various forms of declines as you do your best to navigate your way through the dark and unfamiliar house.
Finally finding yourself in the kitchen, you make yourself a glass of water. The moonlight shining through the window over the sink acts as your saving grace. Suddenly, you feel a pair of arms slip around your waist, causing you to jump.
"Hey, Gorgeous," the blonde whispers against your neck.
"JJ!" You gasp your heart racing.
"Did I scare you?" He chuckles quietly to not alert the others.
You spin in his hold and nudge him on the shoulder playfully. "You did that on purpose!"
"Not really but-" In one swift motion, JJ picks up and places you on the counter. He parts your legs to stand between them. His palms glide up and down your thighs. "That I did mean to do," he smirks, biting down on his lip.
"JJ! Y/N! You're going to miss the wardrobe part!" Pope shouts, his voice shaky with fear.
"I wish I had spoken to you sooner," JJ confesses abruptly, completely his friend in the next room. All he cares about right now is you.
"Dido," you smirk, placing your arms over JJ's shoulders.
"Really?" He voices in disbelief. Despite how much you've reassured him or have reciprocated his affections, he still isn't convinced that you truly like him.
"That first time I saw you at the Cameron's?" You recall with raised brows. "Um, yeah! You looked hot in that pale green Ron Jon shirt."
"I can't believe you remember that," he shakes his head, leaning in closer to you. I thought there was no way you'd know who I am."
"JJ," you say his name in a mild groan with a toss of your head. How can this boy not see how amazing he is? "You're definitely worth remembering."
"It was at the Boneyard," he states a matter-of-factly.
"What was?" You grin.
"The first time I ever saw you," he tilts his head back slightly, relieving his sharp jawline. "You were dancing with Topper on the wall. The fire made your skin glow and shimmer like bronze. You wore a navy blue bikini with ripped white booty shorts. Your hair was half up and all I could think about was how much I wanted to run my fingers through it. You were the most beautiful girl I had ever seen," he tells you, never once breaking eye contact.
"That was last summer!" You can't believe he remembers that.
"I know," he replies as though it's completely ordinary.
Your jaw drops, "you're saying you've been waiting to talk to me for a year?!"
"Okay well, when you put it that way," he tries to play it off and be cool now.
"Aw JJ!" You express a little too excitedly, bringing your hands to his cheeks.
JJ is quick to press his hand over your mouth. "Shh, Baby. Before you alert everyone in the living room!" Mischievously, you plant a kiss on his palm, catching him off guard. JJ swallows hard, peering down at you with hooded eyes.  "Okay, now you're just teasing me."
You place your hand over his and remove it from your mouth. "You make it too easy," you giggle in a whisper.
JJ simply stares down at your lips as he bites down on his own. Before you have a chance to react, he hungrily presses his lips to yours. Ever kiss up until now has been gentle, new, and hesitant. Now, JJ is forgetting his nerves and is acting on impulse. He breaks away from you and moves his assault to your neck. You comb your fingers through his thick blonde hair, gripping the strands on the back of his neck.
"JJ," you pant breathlessly as your eyes fall shut. "What are you doing?"
"Making up for lost time," he breathes against your neck. I'm really kicking myself right now."
"It's my fault too," you try to speak as JJ makes a track down your neck to your collarbone. "I could've at least said 'hi' instead of smiling like an idiot."
"At least you were nice," JJ mumbles against your chest. "I was a statue. Plus, I always thought you and Rafe may be-"
"Ew! Don't even finish that sentence," you scoff in disgusts.
"You were always at the Cameron's. He's always on top of you and watches you like a hawk," JJ explains as he pops up for air.
"He's had a thing for me for a while now. I've turned him down," you inform him.
JJ frowns in confusion. "Why?"
You figured it would've been obvious, especially considering how much JJ hates Rafe. "He's an arrogant ass. He thinks he's invincible and I hate people like that."
"Well, you can tell him you're taken now," JJ grins, leaning in to kiss you.
"Oh, I am?" You question playfully against his lips.
"Yep," the boy nods as he begins to glide his lips across your jawline. "You're mine... and only mine..." He whispers, making you bite your lip with anticipation. Boy, this kid knows how to get you turned on. "I'll make sure everyone in the OBX knows it too," he declares as he starts to suck on the sensitive skin on your neck. At the rate JJ is going, he's certain to leave a mark or two, just as he wanted.
"You guys!" Kiara calls this time.
JJ huffs with annoyance as he appears out from your neck. "Coming!" He shouts, completely unfazed by what he was just doing. "Got you're so sexy," he plants a quick peck to your lips. "I hope you know I'm going to be dying through this entire movie."
Ever the gentleman, he grips your waist and helps you down from the counter. He slips his hand into yours and grabs your water with the other before leading the way back into the living room.
"She couldn't find the sodas in the fridge. I had to grab a new box from the back," he conjures up as you two cross the living room toward the recliner.
"Sureee," John B and Sarah say in unison with amusement.
"Sorry guys, what did we miss?" You ask while you and JJ get settled.
After you take a quick sip from your water, you place it on the side table between the recliner and the couch before getting comfortable again with JJ.
"Nice water, Y/N." Sarah giggles as she peaks over from the couch at your hand, earning an eye roll from JJ.
"The crazy demon lady jumped on the daughter. I hate this!" Pope rushes out to answer your question.
"Oh my God! You're fine, Pope!" Kiara groans, not hiding her annoyance.
"I wish it wasn't so dark in here!" Pope shouts dramatically.
"I kinda like it," JJ purrs in your ear.
You turn your head to the side and he plants a kiss on your lips. As the others watch the movie, you and JJ spend most of the time whispering back and forth or too caught up in each other physically to talk at all. Of course, you two are respectful of your friends and keep it PG. Yet, you can't get enough of each other. It's all so soon, energetic, and freeing. As the thought of tomorrow morning lingers in the back of your mind, you’re starting to dread the idea of parting from JJ.

MASTERLIST
this is going to be a series!!
“oh my fucking god” you breathed and dropped your bags, the door hitting the wall catching the attention of chris and the girl on top of him. “you’ve got to be fucking kidding me” they both scrambled and she got her clothes on fast, running out the door.
chris wrapped himself in the blanket, shaking his head and putting his hand up. "yn, i promise, this wasn't supposed to happen"
"oh bullshit, chris! did you think i wouldn't find out? my god, chris, we're fucking engaged!" you ran your fingers through your hair, chris still tightening the blanket around his waist. "4 years. 4 years down the drain, for what? for some fun?" your lip quivered and you shook your head.
"yn, please, i can explain" you scoff, running your tongue over your lips as you shift your weight to one leg with your arms across your chest as you looked at him.
"you can explain what? you cheated! there's no fucking excuse!" you exclaim, grabbing a bag from the closet and shoving random articles of clothes in it, as well as the ones you just bought.
"where are you going? no, please don't leave" chris begged and grabbed your wrist, and you chuckle as you ripped it out of his grip.
"if you don't want me to leave, you shouldn't have cheated and had some random girl riding your dick. i'm calling off the wedding" you threw the ring at his chest and slammed the bedroom door behind you. you shoved the bag into the back of your car, starting your car and gripping the steering wheel. you squeezed your eyes shut and leaned your forehead onto the wheel, your shoulders shaking as you sob.
your phone started to ring and you took a deep breath, sniffling and taking a few breaths before answering it. your elbow leaned against the door, eyes closed with your fingers against your forehead. "hey yn!" sebastian beamed over the phone and you smile softly, feeling a little better to hear how happy he sounded.
"you called at literally the best time. is it alright if i come over?"
"sure! door's unlocked, i've got drinks in the fridge, i'll see you soon then!" you said your goodbyes and hung up the phone, putting it away and blasting music as you drove off to sebastian's.
-
30 minutes later you pulled into sebastian's driveway and turned down the music before shutting off your car. you grabbed your bag and took a breath before sulking over to his door. you knocked softly and tapped your toes together as you waited for sebastian to open the door. you heard his footsteps and the door swung open, your puffy eyes meeting his sweet, bright smile.
"hey doll! oh no, why are you sad?" your lip quivered after the question and you let out a sob, sebastian catching you as you fell into him, he scrunches his eyebrows confused and wraps his arms around you.
"i-i caught him in bed-" sebastian shushed you softly and held your head, bringing you and your bag inside his house.
"you don't have to tell me anything until you're ready, okay? i'll be here to listen. for now, i'll just hold you until you have no more tears" he smiled and kissed your head, the both of you sitting on the couch. he put your legs over his lap, comforting you. you hiccuped once you stopped crying, playing with the hem of sebastian's shirt.
"he was in bed.. with that bitch i asked about a couple months ago" you sighed and sebastian scoffed, shaking his head.
"what did he say before? when you asked about her before" sebastian rubbed your arm and you laughed.
"an old hometown friend who moved to california. and i believed it, even though i met all his friends from home"
"what an asshole, you don't deserve that" sebastian whispered and kissed your forehead, making you smile.
"and.. with me being over here now, if it's not any incon-"
"yes, you are more than welcome to stay. my guest bedroom is finally finished" you smile and hug him tightly, sebastian rubbing your back. "love you yn"
"love you more, seb, thank you" you whisper and snuggle your cheek into his shoulder.
the next day sebastian helped you pack your things from the house you and chris shared. you guys put some boxes in storage and some boxes to sebastian's house. chris came back to the house as you closed the trunk of your car.
"yn? hey, please listen to me" chris begged and and you clicked your seatbelt in the passenger seat.
"she's not talking to you right now. you hurt her, very bad, chris" sebastian glared, backing up and getting into the driver's seat. chris yelled things about you getting with sebastian as payback but it was muffled. sebastian reached over and grabbed your thigh and you shook your head as you placed your hand on top of his.
"i told myself i wouldn't cry about it anymore.. but i can't help it" you sniffled and at a red light, sebastian wiped the tears from your cheeks.
"you're allowed to be sad, yn. it's your choice how long you want to be sad, no one else's, okay?" he whispered and you nodded, kissing his palm and you widened your eyes.
"sebastian, i didn't mean to do that" you rambled on and he chuckled, holding your wrists and kissing each knuckle and your palms. "oh" you sighed, dropping your shoulders and sebastian looked up at you through his eyelashes.
"see? don't be sorry, it's comforting" he smiled and you nodded slowly, licking your lips. "you want to go somewhere to eat?" you nodded and he sat the right way again. luckily there was no one behind you two because you sat through a green light. the light turned green again and he took off, heading to the place you wanted to eat before heading to his house.
sebastian pulled into his driveway and opened your door for you. you think him as he takes your hand into the house. "are there any.. house rules?"
"uhm.. food is free reign, bathroom upstairs, the guest room is right across from- what's wrong?" you rubbed your arm and shrugged, looking around the house then meeting sebastian's eyes.
"i didn't mean to make your life any more crazy" you apologize to him and stare at your toes.
"hey, look at me" sebastian said but you refused. he held your chin softly and tilted your face up to look at him. "you could never be a burden to me, i promise. i've always wanted a roommate who wasn't crazy"
"well.. i'm pretty crazy now" you smiled and he laughed, shaking his head.
"no, definitely not. chris is crazy for cheating on an amazing, smart, sexy girl like you" he grinned and your cheeks felt hot. "there's that shy smile"
"you think i'm sexy?" i whisper, stepping a little closer to sebastian.
"who wouldn't?" he whispered back, his mouth inches from yours. "goodnight yn"
"goodnight seb" he kissed your forehead and headed to his room. you sighed contently with a smile on your face, heading to the guest room. it was still scattered with some boxes, the closet half filled with clothes and the dresser topped with a mirror and a tv.
you got ready for bed and cuddled tight under the sheets, deleting the new texts you got from chris about the cheating, about sebastian, about everything. you went on social media, which is a bad idea after a break up. 'chris evans' was trending, and it was filled with thousand of tweets about the break up. your chest felt heavy and it felt like your throat was closing. "seb..seb.." you ripped the blankets off of you and you knocked on his door frantically.
"come in" you swung the door open and he dropped his clothes in his hamper. "what's wrong, doll?"
"they're a-all talking about it" you cried in choppy breaths, sebastian's eyebrows furrowing. you handed him your phone and he scrolled through the tweets, shaking his head and putting your phone next to his on the nightstand. "h..how did they find out?! i didn't post anything, remove any pictures, or say anything about you. how is it out?!"
"apparently he let it slip in an interview. plus i guess he confided in the wrong person and they told the press" sebastian rubbed your back and you let out a soft cry, falling into him. "you're going on a social media detox. i'm going to take your phone for a couple days and we're going to enjoy the world, okay?" you nod and sniffle, nodding and wiping your cheeks with his thumbs.
"i'm sorry for dumping all of this on you" you said softly and you looked up at him.
"never apologize for your feelings" he whisper and i nodded, leaning forward and kissing his chest.
"thank you seb" your tone was soft as you leaned back against his bed. sebastian was still processing the kiss to his chest you left, a soft smirk playing on his lips. it didn't take long for you to fall asleep, and sebastian didn't want to move you. he pulled the blankets over the two of you, kissing your forehead before shutting off the side lamp and falling asleep with an arm draped over you.
-
you woke up the next day with your arms wrapped around sebastian's arm. your eyes felt heavy and puffy, but you didn't want to move out of your very comfortable spot. you watched sebastian chest rise up and down slowly with every breath he took, his arm tucked under his head with his face turned away from yours.
you never really looked at sebastian, but you were glad you were getting the chance to right now. he shifted and you panicked, closing your eyes again to pretend you were sleeping. you heard him sigh and felt his bicep flex, and it was so hard to bite back your smile and grip it in your hands.
sebastian slowly pulled his arm away from your grip and pushed your hair out of your face before he got out of bed. sebastian headed into his bathroom and locked the door, your eyes shooting open. your arms pushed up the soft sheets as you stretched your limbs. you reached over for your phone, seeing a lot of missed calls, texts and notifications from almost every social media app you had.
sebastian's phone vibrated and you jumped when you heard the water turn on in the shower, sebastian badly singing as he showered. you sighed and peeked at his screen, seeing a lot of texts from chris.
"this is crazy" you sighed, placing a pillow over your face and wanting to scream. you had almost fallen asleep again before you heard the water shut off. you took the pillow off of your face and pretended to just be waking up as he came out of the bathroom.
"well, good morning roomie" sebastian smiled and you sat up, gasping softly with wide eyes as you noticed sebastian dripping in water with his towel loosely tied around his waist.
“good morning. i didn’t mean to take up your bed last night. all that crying just really took it out of me"
“no problem, i understand. my bed is big enough for the both of us. no bother” he smiled and took another towel to dry his hair. you brushed your hair out of your face and sighed.
"uhm, i'm gonna go shower. probably unpack too. you can come help if you want" you started to walk towards his door but you heard him whistle. you tighten your face and turn around slowly, sebastian's hand on his hip with the other out palm facing up.
"i seem to remember there were 2 phones on my nightstand, and now there's only one. give it here" you grunt and slightly stomp as you slapped the phone in his hand. "this is for your own sake, it's to better you and your mind!" sebastian smiled and you rolled your eyes, trying to pretend that you were mad at sebastian but you couldn't help the corners of your mouth curling up.
"yeah, yeah. whatever" you push his shoulder and he laughs. "i'll be in my room, then i'm gonna shower"
"okay. and hey," you turned around in his door frame, your hand on the wood as you looked over your shoulder to sebastian. "you and me"
you smile, nodding softly. "you and me, seb"

Office Hours Part 2
Part 1 here
Thanks @shieldmaiden-of-gondor and @im-a-wonderling for making sure my fluff makes sense 😊
————————————
“Utterly hopeless. You are completely and utterly hopeless.”
Villain punctuated each word by banging his head on the table. When he finished his lament, he rested his head on the wood, dark hair falling haphazardly across his forehead.
Hero, sitting opposite him at the table in the private study room, also wanted to bang her head against the wood.
It was late. They’d been at this for hours. She wanted to scream in frustration.
Instead, she threw her pencil at Villain’s head.
His hand flew up, plucking the pencil from the air, and sending it back at her in one swift motion.
It nailed her in the shoulder, and she frowned at Villain as she rubbed the spot. He hadn’t even bothered to look up.
“You’re supposed to be helping me.”
He groaned. “Some things just can’t be helped.”
The metal pen on the table flew into the air with surprising speed, smacking into Villain’s shoulder before clattering to the floor.
He looked up then, raking his hair back off his forehead.
“You know, if you spent as much time studying as you did practicing your metallokinesis, you might actually pass this test.”
“I’m trying.” she snapped, eager to escape the dark-eyed scrutiny.
She frowned. Again. Trying to smother her embarrassment that Villain, of all people, knew how horribly inept she was.
It wasn’t that she wasn’t trying. It was just that Supervillain had been launching increasingly elaborate attacks each night. Then every time she studied, the concepts and numbers blurred together in her mind and she inevitably found herself waking up hours later with her face stuck to the pages of her textbook.
Villain was still looking at her, waiting for a response.
She swiped a hand across her bleary eyes and pink cheeks, wincing as her fingers brushed the large scrape on her left cheek.
A lucky blow from one of Supervillain’s droids had sent her careening into a brick wall last night, roughing up her face and arm in the process.
“What happened?”
It wasn’t the first time she’d caught him looking at her injuries through narrowed eyes.
Her stomach fluttered, despite the fact that the concern in his voice was obviously manufactured to get her to let her guard down.
“Where do you think, genius?” Squashing the wretched butterflies dancing around her insides, she shot him a glare and stood to retrieve her pencil and pen.
She had to go around the table to get her pen, and as she crouched to retrieve it, Villain chuckled.
“You could just use your powers, you know.”
Her face heated and she jolted back up, pen flying into her hand with a bit too much force. Her heart pounded in her chest, intensifying the color in her cheeks.
As she turned to return to her seat, a cool hand closed loosely around her wrist.
Villain gently tugged her towards where he sat, grip loose enough she could have pulled away if she wanted to.
She didn’t want to.
Considering the fact his boss wanted her dead, that was probably a bad thing.
Villain didn’t seem to notice her internal dilemma as he brought her closer.
When she was standing right in front of him, he let go, long slender fingers moving from her wrist to the angry red scrapes that marked her arm from wrist to shoulder. His touch was light, barely a flutter against her skin.
“I’ve been wondering all night what happened.”
His voice was quiet. Soft.
Hero raised her eyebrows. Then why hadn’t he asked earlier?
She shrugged. “Just a droid, you know. Like always.”
Her breath caught as his fingers wrapped around her upper arm, slowly turning it to get a better view of an angry red line that was deeper than the others.
“This isn’t from a droid.”
He was right. A droid would have ripped her arm off.
“Well, the droid may have had help from a brick wall.”
He winced in sympathy before looking up at her face, eyebrows scrunched together in concern as his fingers reached up towards her cheek.
He suddenly whirled to face the wall, hand falling away and his eyes narrowing as though he could see straight through it. Which, in a way, she guessed he could.
“Supervillain is coming. You should sit down.”
“He’s coming? Here? You told—”
Villain shook his head as he shooed her back to her seat. “I can sense him coming. He probably just has a question for me.”
Hero finally heeded Villain’s words and scrambled back around the table. Halfway there, she froze, pen slipping from her grasp.
Oh no.
Her heart leapt into her throat. “He’ll know it’s me! I have to go...” She reached to gather all the textbooks and papers spread across the table, but Villain appeared between her and the table.
“Calm down, Hero. He’s never seen your face without the mask.”
“It’s not about my face, Villain!” She gestured to the raw skin on her arm and cheek that had been too sensitive to bandage. “He saw me get thrown against the wall.”
Villain stiffened at her words, at the implication that these particular injuries labeled her as Hero just as effectively as her supersuit.
She tried to push past him.
“Wait. There’s no time.”
He grabbed the hem of his black hoodie and yanked it off in one swift motion.
Before she could comprehend his action, he was pulling the soft material down over her head.
“Arms in.”
She numbly obeyed, goosebumps springing up at his closeness, despite the warmth of the fleece.
“We can’t put the hood up, it would be too suspicious.” His words were muttered under his breath, and she wasn’t sure if she was meant to respond. She froze as his hands came around her, pulling the elastic from her hair.
He quickly ran his fingers through the blonde strands, pulling them forward to frame her face. She shivered as his knuckles brushed against her skin, and he pulled back.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to—”
She hadn’t even realized it had been her injured cheek.
“It’s fine!” She said quickly, pulling at the strands herself. “Is this good?”
His lips were a tight line as he shook his head. “It’s still too obvious...”
His eyes shuttered closed for a moment, then flew open. “He’s almost here!”
Hero started, eyes leaping around the small room. There was nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.
Supervillain was known as the ‘friendly professor’ for a reason. He could chat the ear off an elephant. There was no way she could keep her head turned away the entire time he—
Villain was suddenly standing right there, and there was something wild in his eyes.
“I have an idea. You’re not going to like it.”
His head was tilted down towards hers, inches away.
His eyes were green.
She’d thought them black but...
Strong hands were suddenly at her waist, spinning her around and lifting her up onto the edge of the table, her back to the door.
She gasped, eyes going wide.
Villain raised an eyebrow in question.
She knew what he was asking; would be lying if she said she hadn’t imagined what it would feel like to...
Her eyes darted to his lips, which had quirked up into a smirk at the expression on her face as if to say, ‘I guess that answers that question.’
The doorknob jangled, and his hand slid around her back, pulling her against him as his lips crashed into hers.
Her hands slid up his chest and around his neck as he leaned forward, the fingers splayed across her back sending warm shivers across her skin.
Her leg wrapped around him and she heard his breath hitch as his warm lips moved against hers.
His other hand slid under her hair, coming to rest softly against her injured cheek, hiding it from view as the door swung open.
Hero’s arms fell away at the low chuckle behind her, but Villain simply pulled her more tightly against him. He pressed a final, slow kiss to her lips before straightening, slightly breathless.
His hands stayed though, subtly pushing her towards him as he smiled nonchalantly over her shoulder at the open door.
“Good evening, Professor.”
“Mr. Hammond.”
The voice sent fear snaking down Hero’s spine, and she buried her face in Villain’s green T-shirt, her trembling fingers grasping the fabric.
“I assume you are clocked in and getting paid for the work you do in office hours.”
“Yes, sir.”
Hero braced herself for a tirade from Supervillain, but instead she could hear the smile in his voice as he responded.
“Good.”
A long pause.
“Is there something I can help you with, sir?”
His voice was calm but Hero could feel the tension running through him.
“I had a question about our latest project, but seeing as you are... otherwise occupied... it can wait until morning.”
Her face, still buried in the dark green fabric, burned at the implication, but she felt Villain release a tiny sigh of relief.
“I’ll be at your office at 8am.”
“Good, good. I’ll just leave you to it then…”
Hero breathed a silent sigh of relief as she heard Supervillain’s hand grasp the doorknob. But she didn’t hear it close.
“Say, you look familiar, young lady…” Panic surged through her veins as his non-question hung in the air, and Hero’s hands clutched Villain’s shirt so tightly her knuckles turned white.
Villain chuckled softly. “She’s in your class, so you’ll have to forgive her for being embarrassed about the way you found out about our... relationship.”
How did he sound so calm??
Also—Relationship???
Villain’s fingers slid back to her cheek, encouraging her to lift her head while covering her injury.
“It’s alright, love,” Her heart skipped at the endearment, and she had to remind herself it was an act. “He doesn’t bite.”
No, but he would gladly murder her if he knew who she was.
She slowly lifted her head, turning her good cheek towards Supervillain and his knowing grin.
“And what’s your name, lucky one?”
“Addie.” Her voice came out a strangled whisper, but Supervillain seemed to find it funny rather than suspicious.
“Well, Miss Addie, I guess if you do poorly on this midterm, I’ll know who to blame.”
And with a small wink at Villain, he slipped out, closing the door firmly behind him.

part 2/3:
Tumblr media
And then it’s the last week of February and you have an assignment together, you and Bucky, the boy with black hair and a mind that you’re certain is not as clever as he insists it is. You know this cannot possibly end well. You feel it when he sits beside you and his knee brushes past your leg. You feel it when you take a breath and smell his aftershave. Sandalwood and vanilla. It makes you want to lick your lips. Please, get a grip. You try to get away, even propose to write the whole thing alone so you wouldn’t have to spend any time around him. In your mind, you call it self defense. But Bucky’s boastful and you can see him pumping the muscles in his neck, trying to intimidate you.
“My dorm, tomorrow at 7,” he says “Don’t be late.”

You find it annoying; how he’s present even when he’s not around.
-
The thing about Bucky Barnes is that everyone, boys and girls, adore him alike. He’s charming, he’s crafty, he’s brilliant. He’s everything they want him to be and even more. It nearly condones his megalomania.
The thing about Bucky Barnes is that he’s aware he has an audience. Always plans his moves, knows how to play his character perfectly. He wears dark designer jeans and plain Henley shirts, buttons open, fabric tight around his biceps. Sometimes even a black leather jacket and a tag necklace. Girls are intrigued by the bad-boy, straight A student contrast, while the boys are envious enough keep him close and invite him to all of their parties. Bucky gives them whatever they need.
The thing about Bucky Barnes is that he’s utterly lonely. He has never said so, but it’s the truest thing about him. He has Sam. But for how long? Bucky’s used to people going away. It has been imprinted on him. His best friend, Steve, left with his girlfriend in an exchange program last month and Natasha, the one girl he ever came close to loving, just started dating Clint Barton. Clint fucking Barton. What a downgrade.
And then there’s you, sitting at the end of his bed, playing with the ring in your finger, reading some neatly written lecture notes. Usually, Bucky would think about 129 cheeky comments he could make to a girl in his room. But not to you. Are you sure, Bucky? He has grown accustomed to disliking you. It’s the one constant he has left and he’s not planning on losing it.
He leans down and takes the place next to you, a bottle of beer dangling loosely in his hand.
He offers and you decline.
“We need to concentrate on the project.”
“You’re the biggest killjoy.” Bucky says with a hint of a smirk.
“I’m studying, Bucky.” He can see your left hand holding that dark green pen in a tight grip and your eyes trying to focus everywhere but on his face. He can see your hair glistening in the warm afternoon light that comes from his window. He can see the soft red blush on your cheeks and the beauty mark on your neck. What a tricky thing it is to see. And to feel. And to want.
Is that what dislike tastes like, Bucky?
-
He talks a lot, that’s the first thing you notice. He says all sorts of things, most of them having nothing to do with your project. You’re certain it’s because he’s feeling as uncomfortable and agitated as you. But still, it’s annoying as hell.
“Listen,” you say and turn to his side “I’m not going to fail this class just because you have the attention span of a two year old.”
A laugh escapes his lips and you watch, completely in awe, the way little wrinkles form around his eyes and his nose scrunches. Right now, he looks tender and warm. No, he doesn’t.
“I think we’re both pretty smart,” Bucky says nonchalant and wets his lower lip with his tongue, before he adds, “We’ve got this, so relax doll.”
There are rules, things that are solid, de facto.
Example 1: Bucky never praises you. At least not out loud.
Example 1: Not valid anymore.
Example 2: Bucky uses the word “doll” approximately ten times a day. To other girls. The girls he likes. Not to you.
That’s actually wrong, he called you doll the first time you met. That doesn’t count. He didn’t know you then.
Example 2: Not valid anymore.
It feels foreign. Pleasant and beguiling, but foreign.
“You always call girls “doll”. What is this?” You ask and he looks up. “Is it like your thing, your flirt move?”
Bucky meets your gaze, his forehead creased, and holds it for some seconds before he laughs again. Is this amusing him?
“No, I’m serious.” You bite your lip. “You even did it to me when we first met.”
“I did?”
Of course he doesn’t remember, what did you expect?
“Yeah, when you helped me find the admission office.”
“And you remember that, an entire year later?” He raises his eyebrows, looking entertained and partly interested.
Your mind empties and for some time you feel out of place, embarrassed. But you’re quick to recollect yourself. You can’t let him get you.
“It was my first day as a college student, I remember all of it.”
Liar. You don’t even remember who you sat next to.
Bucky smirks a little too long for your liking and then he leans in, his body bending in a way that makes you forget to breath. He’s so close and you only see blue, a rare kind of blue between the depths of the ocean and the brightest shade of the sky at noon. This would be so much easier if he wasn’t that handsome. Handsome and indomitable. What an awful combination.
“Interesting.” He whispers and lies back, touching the wall.
You tuck a piece of hair behind your ear and clear your throat.
“I should go, it’s obvious we’re not making any progress.” You pick your books and stand up. “Sometimes I wonder how you get all those perfect grades, you clearly-” You merely finish your sentence before he grabs your arm and swiftly, he has you pressed against his wooden bookcase. You don’t have time to blink.
What’s happening? He was sitting down a second ago.
“That day,” he says while his thumb draws circles on your wrist. “You were wearing a denim dress and some Saturn shaped earrings. And you were holding a cherry juice box.”
It’s utterly terrifying how your emotions toss and turn the moment you realize what he’s talking about and the fragile muscles of your heart ache because Bucky cares. Bucky remembers.
“It wasn’t my first day of college, but I remember.”
You want to throw up. Or kiss him. You’re not sure. You know you hate Bucky. Do you? You’ve taught yourself to. And it was never supposed to change. It shouldn’t have to.
You part your lips to say something, anything, but he shakes his head and steps back.
“You should go.”
And you do. And you’ll never tell him, but you’ll always regret not kissing him then. You’re sure now.

For Bucky, it all came crashing down the moment he first saw you. It was all over the moment his eyes met yours. A gourmand perfume lingered in the air around you that day and it stained his pores. And it’s been with him since then. Clinging onto his flesh.
It’s partly obsessive and partly romantic and Bucky tries to keep it locked inside. He thinks he can make it go away easily, the way he flicks a crumb off his expensive cashmere scarf. He thinks if he doesn’t talk about it, it’ll be less true. That’s not how things work, Bucky.
Yeah, he’s starting to notice.
And he’s trying so hard to hate you. The problem is, he doesn’t think he can.

You make it your mission to avoid him and it’s going well until the fifth of March. You spot him at Sam Wilson’s party. You should have known he’d be here, they’re friends. There’s a thick cloud of cigarette smoke all around, but still, you can perfectly see him. He’s standing alone, his skin changing colors under the neon lights, a plastic cup in his hand, eyes crystal blue and swollen and fixated on you.
The room is small and everything feels known but unfamiliar at the same time; the atmosphere, his gaze, the lump on your throat.
They’re suffocating you, the looks you give each other.
-
“Buck, what do you want?” Sam asks, holding both vodka and gin and he observes the way Bucky merely turns his head to look at him.
What do you want Bucky?
Not to play a role anymore. For Steve to be back. Maybe, Natasha. No, he hasn’t thought about her in a month. Perhaps a Pulitzer Prize. Definitely a new pair of sunglasses. But there is one more answer he has behind his teeth.
Y/N, he almost says. Always.
“Vodka.”
-
He leaves before midnight and you can’t remember where the urge came from, yet you’re following him. You know he has noticed. But he just keeps walking until he reaches the door of his dorm and presses his back against it. He sees you and you see him and his eyes cut your heart open.
“Your place is on the other side of the building.”
“I know,” you mumble, “I just never got to say good job on the assignment and I wanted to.” You are unable to meet his eyes. You sound pitiful and you want to hit a wall; with your head.
Why the hell did you follow him here?
Because sometimes you do stupid things.
Bucky mockingly opens his mouth, as if shocked. It almost makes you groan.
“Did Miss high and mighty just comment something nice about me?”
“Why do you have to contradict everything I say?”
He shakes his head and you can feel your heart beat loud and irregular and it’s not because you’re mad. It’s because he’s coming closer, almost chest to chest now. And it’s because you can swear, he just glanced at your lips.
“Someone has to, you can’t act like you know everything all the time.”
“I don’t do that, you don’t know a thing about me Bucky.”
“Oh, but I do. You’re Y/N, you like plaid skirts and Homer and dark green pens. You expect everyone to be perfect. You expect yourself to be perfect. And you always want to do the right thing.”
His pupils are dilated. Yours must be too. Bucky Barnes is dangerous and fatal. He makes your blood coil and your mouth dry. And there’s a tension, almost pain, almost agony, deep in your lungs and it burns. And you don’t know who leaned in first, probably you because Bucky isn’t that brave yet, but suddenly your hands are everywhere. Your fingers blending in his hair, his digging in the skin on the back of your neck. He’s bringing you closer and it’s a mess and all you can hear is the beating of your heart; a rapid vibration between your ears. It’s pure and raw and it doesn’t hurt anymore.
He tastes like ambrosia and a year-old despair and you think you can go on forever. You eventually break apart because you both need to breath and for a second you worry because he looks like he’s ready to cry, but instead he smiles, softly touching your cheek.
“Did I do the right thing?” You whisper.

feedback is so appreciated and motivates me tons, thank you :)

“Please tell me you’re a booth person and not a table person.” You chuckled, putting a hand on his shoulder. “Uh, yeah.” He laughed and rolled his eyes at you. He began walking towards one of the booths. You followed happily behind him, scooting into the opposite side of the booth. He pulled off his hat and both his gloves, setting them on the seat next to him. You propped your head on the palm of your hands, stopping yourself from looking at his metal hand, you weren’t even sure if it was metal.
The diner was one that had been in this town for, at least, forty years, and it definitely showed its age. It was trying to be a ‘retro diner’ in the eighties, so that aged it another thirty years. You grew up coming here with your family, the food was good, and you thought the inside was cute. The building was longer than it was wide, and the floor reminded you of a checkerboard. There was a long bar on the left, space for waiters to maneuver, and a long panel of metal enclosing the kitchen portion. Bright red bar stools were implemented into the floor, screwed into the floor, every two feet or so. On the right, were five or six booths, the same shade of red as the bar stools, big enough for about four people max.
“Hey, sugar!” A familiar voice chirped to your left. Your eyes met a familiar pair of green ones, and a smile immediately filled your face. “Hey, Mabel!” You cooed, half-standing under the table and wrapping your arms around her small, fragile frame. She smelled like coffee and smoke, as she always did. The two of you pulled away, and her eyes instantly went to Bucky. “Who's your friend?” She asked, raising her eyebrows at you. “Mabel, this is my friend James. James, this is Mabel.” You explained, quickly introducing the two. He smiled at her and stuck out his ‘normal’ hand to give her a handshake, which she was very fond of.
“Well, it is great to meet you, James! What can I get you to drink?” She had abandoned her notepad well before you were born, her ability to just remember someone’s order still amazed you. “Coffee please, no sugar or creamer please.” She smiled at him, and turned back towards me, “Regular for you, dear?” She asked, and you smiled, scrunching up your eyes and nose. She practically pranced away with a huge smile on her face. Bucky chuckled, pulling you from your thoughts, turning your head back towards him. His eyes were scanning over the faded laminated menu.
“How do you know Mabel?” He asked, looking up and unzipping his jacket, pulling it off his abdomen and onto the seat beside him, with his gloves and hat. “I grew up coming here with my family, she’s known me since I was in my mother’s stomach.” You explained, pointing to a picture above the bar. It was pretty faded after sitting in direct sunlight for over two decades, but it was a picture of Mabel, your mom, your dad, and you, you all had on party hats. “I had my first ten birthdays at this diner.” Bucky squinted his eyes and smiled once he made out the picture of baby you.
“That’s awesome.” He said looking back at you. He opened his mouth to say something else, but Mabel cut him off. “Here is that coffee, Mr. James.” She slid the coffee in front of him, “And a regular for you, (Y/M/N).” She wiped her hands on her apron, “What can I get you two to eat?” Bucky looked at me, wanting me to order first. “We’ll both take the ‘67.” You smiled. She copied, “You got it, dearie.” And she walked away. Bucky cleared his throat, “Just trust me, Bucky,” You chuckled, placing your hands on top of his, “You’re gonna love it.” He paused for a moment, “I’ll hold you to that.” He winked at you. Did he just wink at you? Was he flirting? You immediately shot back at a wink and a flirty response, “Deal.”
The two of you ate and chatted for about an hour and a half. “Okay, you were right, that was the best food I’ve ever had.” He said, stacking your plates and utensils together, making it easier for Mabel when she took them off the table. “Can I get you two anything else?” She asked, picking up the two plates with ease. Bucky looked at you and you nodded a ‘no,’ and he looked back at Mabel, “No thank you, ma’am, but I will take the check.” He smiled.
“No, Mabel, split the check pl-” But Mabel cut you off, “Sorry, dear, my hearing aid died, I can’t quite hear you. I’ll bring that check right to you, Mr. James.” Quickly walking away. “Bucky, no, I will pay for mine.” You insisted, going to reach for your purse. You looked around you in your seat in a panic, and then you remembered, it was in the saddlebag attached to his bike. He laughed at you as you came to that realization. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?” You sighed, taking a sip of your drink. He simply shrugged and smiled, pulling his wallet out of his back pocket.
Once Mabel returned with the bill and Bucky’s card, the two of you stood, and he let you walk out first. It was a lot colder now, goosebumps layered your exposed arms, like a reflex you wrapped your arms around yourself. “Here, you take this.” He insisted, placing his heavy leather jacket on your shoulders. “No, I can't, you're gonna get cold too.” You began to shrug it off, but he placed his hands on your shoulders, stopping you. “I’ll be fine.” He smirked at you, his hands lingering for a little longer than normal.
“Ready?” He asked as he straddled his bike, once more. You stuck your arms through the long sleeves, which went way past your fingertips. You took your seat behind him, and he handed you the helmet, and you slid it over your head. Similar to earlier, you snaked your arms around him, clasping your hands together, and resting around his mid-abdomen. His hands, once again, landed on your thighs, pulling you even closer to him, making a different type of goosebumps cover your arms.
“Hang on tight, doll.” He said as the bike came to life. You were so glad you were wearing a helmet, so he couldn’t see the brush creep onto your cheeks. As you two rode, he used his prosthetic hand to steer the bike and kept his flesh hand on your knee the entire time. The sky had ditched the orange, pink, and red hues and was now littered in stars and moonlight. You didn’t want this to end, you felt like you could stay there for hours, but the library came into view a lot sooner than you wanted it to.
The next day came and you got excited, as always, to see Bucky. Today was a little different though, after your date last night. Wait, was that even a date? It had to be, right? I mean he paid and flirted with you.
“Bucky, why do you come in here every day?” You asked, peering at him over the book in your hands. He didn’t move for a second, you assumed he was finishing the sentence he was reading. “Well, all the libraries in New York City are crowded and noisy.” He explained, “So when I found this place while scoping out new libraries, even though it is quite a distance, I knew this place was it for me.” He smiled at you. “At least that was the reason initially.” He muttered, picking his book back up.
“And what is that supposed to mean?” You set your book down this time, squinting your eyes at him, and propping your head up on your hands. “Well obviously, I now come back because the shitty coffee you offer is to die for.” He said sarcastically. You gasped and threw one of your pens at him, bouncing off his chest and onto the floor. He broke out into a fit of laughter, and you soon followed.
“No, but now I come back to hang out with you.” He admitted to you, avoiding your stare. “Oh that so sweet…” You started, “...Dork.” Throwing another pen at him, this time hitting the bill of his hat. Bucky had come in every day for a little over a month now and missed not a single Sunday. “Hey (Y/F/N)?” Bucky asked, looking back up from his book. Your eyes didn’t leave the pages of your book, but you answered, “Yes, Buck?” You asked back, flipping the page.
“I won’t be here tomorrow, and for a couple days after that.” When the words left his lips, a wave of sadness washed over you. Your lips twisted into a pout, looking towards him. “Why?” You asked, dragging out the word. “I have some obligations.” You rolled your eyes at him, “Okay, Mr. Mysterious.” You scoffed, feeling a bit upset. How long had he known? Why was he just now telling you? “I’m gonna be so bored without you.” You whined, leaning back in your chair with a huff.
“I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
It was closing time now, and as usual, Bucky walked you to your car. “You better bring me a souvenir from wherever you’re going.” You joked, tossing your purse into the passenger seat, and turning back towards Bucky. “Would you prefer a T-shirt? Maybe some socks? How about a shot glass?” He joked back, leaning against the side of your car. “Surprise me.” You laughed, pushing his chest.
As you went to pull away from his chest, his flesh hand wrapped around your wrist, softly. He placed it back on his chest, and his metal hand went to your hip, pulling you closer to him. The only distance between both of your chest was being occupied by your hand. You swore up and down that he could hear your heartbeat, but you were soon reassured because you could feel his heartbeat racing just as much as yours was. Bucky glanced down at your lips, and you did the same.
You closed the space between your lips, and without thinking your eyes fluttered closed, taking in everything happening over your entire body. His lips were soft, tasting like coffee and mint. The growing stubble on his chin rubbed against the softness of your cheeks. His flesh hand was warm around your wrist, gripping it softly, he never wanted to hurt you. But the gestures with his metal hand were very different. It was leaving a cool tingling sensation against the small patch of exposed skin, and his grip was tighter, pushing you impossibly closer to him. You took your free hand, and placed it on his face, thumb running over his cheek, and your other four fingers resting on his neck.
After what feels like minutes, but was probably only about thirty seconds, you pulled away from him. Reluctantly, of course. The two of you just stood there, not moving, relishing at the moment for as long as you could. “You know I meant to surprise me souvenir-wise, right?” You chuckled, messing with the hair on the nape of his neck. “Oh okay, we can just never do that again.” He sighed, messing with you.
“No, no, we can definitely do that again.”
~
It was the first Sunday without Bucky in a while, he had been gone for almost a week now, you assumed working on his ‘obligations.’ You had been keeping yourself busy with a new book series, one that Bucky actually recommended to you. But today would be full of dusting, reorganizing, putting away some newer books, and vacuuming. It was probably around 3:30 in the afternoon, and you were dusting the large bay windows by the front of the store.
You could feel the music moving through your body, making it impossible for you not to dance, at least just a little wiggle. You swayed your hips, the music taking over, singing into the duster like a microphone. Your free hand ran up the side of your body, from your thigh all the way up to your face. You threw your arm up over your head, and prancing around the tables, shifting the duster from a microphone to an electric guitar. When the song was finally over, and you were very much out of breath, you made your way back to the window. And when you did so, your heart dropped to your toes. There was a man standing on the opposite side of the window, watching you.
It only took a few seconds for your fear to turn into relief. It was Bucky. You dashed to the left towards the door, unlocking the door, and running out to greet him. Practically leaping towards him, you wrapped both arms around his neck, and his arms snaked around your waist. After a few moments of swaying and just taking in his presence, you pulled away. He was smiling widely, “I didn’t mean to end your concert so soon, I was enjoying it.” Adding a chuckle. Your face blushed, and you put your hand over your eyes, peeking at him through your middle and ring finger, “Did you see the whole thing?” You asked, dreading his answer. “The whole thing.”
The two of you walked back inside, the music still playing loudly. There was a slow song playing, and you grabbed your phone to turn it down, but Bucky stopped you. “Wanna dance?” He asked, putting his hand out for you to grab. You smiled, happily taking it. He pulled your chest against his. Your arms rest on his shoulders, your fingers loosely interlocked. Both hands on your hips, both of you just rocking side to side. The music wasn’t even registering in your brain, you were just focusing on this moment with him.
“I remember when this song came out.” He said softly. You cocked your eyebrow at him, “Didn’t this song come out in the fifties?” You asked confused, what did he mean by that? “So you really don’t know who I am, huh?” The question caught you off-guard, it sounded very egotistical. “No..?” You asked more like a question. And that’s when he explained everything, making a very long story very short. He explained the arm, the serum, and the ‘obligations.’
“You’re a fucking Avenger?” You asked, head in your hands, elbows on your knee. “Well, technically I’ve never been asked to be one, but kind of.” His hand on your back, rubbing it in small circles. “So you’re the James Buchanan Barnes from the Captain America museum?” He nodded. Everything kind of flooded back to your memory, you knew you heard the nickname “Bucky” before, and you knew he looked somewhat familiar, but you assumed he just looked kinda similar to an actor or something.
It was silent for a good five minutes, but Bucky broke it. “Hey, guess what?” He asked, trying to hide the upturn of his lips. What now? Was he gonna break some more news to you? Was he also part alien? “Hmm?” That was all you said, running your fingers through your hair. He moved his hand to reach into his backpack and pulled out a book, sliding it towards you.
“Russian Urban Legends.” You read the title, quickly flipping through the book with your thumb. “Flip to page 48, and tell me what it says.” He said, propping his head upon his hands. You did as he said and landed on page forty-eight. “The Winter Soldier.” You read the words written in a bright red font, the page decorated in grainy photos and ridiculously cheesy government lettering and drawings. Bucky looked at you, prompting you to continue.
“A ghost story or a real threat?”

Date #6

Tumblr media
You’ve been staring at this thing for way too long.
You can already feel the hint of a headache creeping behind your eyes, and it’s enough to have you setting the copy of The Pact that you stole from Jin down on the coffee table. Groaning as you clamber to your feet, you take a long moment to stretch and fight off the exhaustion that’s attempting to settle over you.
Tired mind somehow managing to continue limping on in its endless speculation, you yourself limp over to the kitchen. Staring at the kitchen sink with a few dirty dishes waiting, you consider splashing some water on your face.
Glancing up at your reflection in the window that’s just above the sink, you decide against it. Not when you’ve just managed to get completely ready for this date.
Your date should be here in about an hour, leaving you with too much time to sit and think. With a sigh, you begin to fill up one side of the sink with hot soapy water, deciding to do something productive with your time while you wait.
The soap bubbles that grow before your eyes has your mind wandering off again. This time, it’s remembering last week and a similar soapy view. However, you’d been side by side with Seokjin. And that song had been playing in the background…
“What are you daydreaming about?”
You shriek, dropping a plate in the sink and facing the onslaught of sloshing dishwater and stray soap bubbles.
Jeon Jungkook resembles a caught crook outside the kitchen window. You consider breaking a plate over his head, especially as his typical wide eyed gaze has been replaced with a knowing smirk.
“Just thinking about throwing something at your head,” you sigh. Pulling the plug on the drain, you watch as the soapy water disappears. Hopefully it takes any evidence of your thoughts with it, but you have a feeling that your reddened cheeks have already given you away. “Why are you creeping outside my window?”
Jungkook’s golden laughter makes the corners of your mouth turn up. “Ah, I tried to knock. I don’t think you heard me, though.”
You blink. “Oh.” Has it already been an hour?
Did you just spend an hour washing the same plate while daydreaming?
“Oh is right. Now, are you gonna let me in?”
Wiping your hands on a dish towel, it’s one with stitched stars on it that Yoongi gifted you a couple of years ago, you hurry over to open the door. The second you do, Jungkook is stepping inside and locking you in a bear hug. Your squeal is muffled as you’re buried in his embrace, but you can’t quite find it in yourself to complain.
He smells like vanilla.
“Happy Saturday,” you stammer out. From where your head is pressed up against Jungkook’s chest, you can hear how his heart is hammering against his ribs.
Taking a step back to see what’s wrong, you frown as he looks at you with a fairly calm expression. There’s a hint of nervousness in his eyes which you’re sure is mirrored in your own.
“Happy Saturday to you, too. Ready?”
No, not really. Not since you’ve been planted at the sink, little beads of sweat forming due to the steaming water.
“Give me five minutes to freshen up?” You ask with an apologetic smile. Jungkook waves you off, pulling up the sleeves of his black, long-sleeve shirt and heading toward the kitchen.
“Sure, take your time. We don’t have a strict schedule tonight.”
Without waiting to see what he intends to do in your kitchen (pilfer snacks being the most likely course of action), you hurry to your bedroom.
There are hints of them everywhere you look.
One of the flowers from Jin’s bouquet is hanging upside down to dry above your dresser. You felt a bit like a teen doing that, but a small piece of you wanted to keep some sort of memory of last week’s date.
Jimin’s music box sits beside the books you bought with Namjoon. You’ve found that listening to the music box while reading is quickly becoming a habit of yours.
Of course, that means you snack on the walnuts that Taehyung left for you while reading. You hadn’t even realized that he left them until this past week. They’d been hiding in your cupboard, and you’d taken quite a liking to them. Either that, or the small sticky note that was attached to the bag.
A single heart traced in bold lines and scribbles.
Slipping on Hobi’s bracelet has become like second nature, making you smile as you twist it around the face the right way.
“Ok,” you breathe out with a glance toward the mirror. You smooth out your hair, straightening your blouse and black jeans. “Here we go.”
Of course, you can’t forget the biggest reminder of the boys.
The copy of the pact that you stole from Jin last week, currently atop your dresser-
“Oh no,” you breathe out as soon as you remember that the pact is not where it’s supposed to be.
You’d taken it out earlier for some light perusing, and had left it out on the coffee table. As far as you knew, none of the boys were aware of your thievery. Yet.
Sneaking out of your room and tiptoeing down the hall, you hear Jungkook humming to himself in the kitchen. Trying to remain as quiet as possible, you make a beeline for the front room.
You let out a sigh of relief when the pact is still undisturbed on the table. Swooping down to grab it, you turn on your heel and-
“AH!!!”
“Ah!” Jungkook yells back, towering over you.
“Why would you-” you hit one shoulder “sneak up-” you assault the other “on me like that?!”
Jungkook grabs your wrist, nose scrunching up as he looks at you like you’re some sweet woodland animal and not a crazy woman.
“Why so jumpy today?” He croons, doing his best to get under your skin. Then he frowns, releasing your wrist in exchange for stepping a little closer. “Is everything ok?”
“Y-yeah,” you stutter, gripping the pact in your free hand behind your back. “I just have to put something away and then we’re good to go, ok?”
He assesses you for another minute before stepping aside. “Sounds good.”
Rushing to your room and closing the door, you rest against it for a moment and close your eyes. So far, so good. Right?
Stuffing the pact into a drawer in your dresser, you grab your things and double check yourself in the mirror.
Why are you so jumpy today?
Perhaps the fact that all of this is coming to an end very soon is what has you on edge. The fact that Jungkook is here means that there’s only one date left.
And then what?
It’s a question you don’t know how to answer. And yet, you’re the only one that can.
Taking a steadying breath, you salute your reflection and head out.
Jungkook waits for you by the door, looking…well, looking like Jungkook. Black shirt, drawstring army green pants, thick boots. His hair looks a little windblown, which you know has become a recent sort of addiction for him. The thought of him driving with the windows down makes you grin. No doubt he looked like some sort of excited puppy with his hair flying in the wind.
Jungkook, unaware of you train of thought, just grins back.
“You look great,” he mumbles out, a tinge of pink giving him away. For all of your antics that you have a tendency to get into, you sometimes forget that Jungkook is one of the shyest out of all the boys.
“So do you,” you respond. Turning before you can spot the smile on his face, Jungkook opens up the door and escorts you outside. “What’s on the agenda for tonight?”
“Well, that depends,” Jungkook skips down the steps, shoving his hands in his pockets. He reaches the car before you, pulling the passenger side door open. “What do you wanna do?”
You pause before sliding into the car, noting that it’s the same one you took with Namjoon. It’s an SUV, much more spacious than the smaller cars you drove in with Hobi or Tae. “What do you mean?”
Shrugging, Jungkook heads over to the other side of the car before hopping in. You finally get in as well, looking at the boy quizzically. He fiddles with the keys, glancing over at you before resting his hands atop the steering wheel.
“This is your sixth date,” he muses. “I figured that this might be nice, for a change. You say the word, and I’ll take you wherever you wanna go. We have…” he squint at the clock, which reads seven o’clock. “Approximately five hours.”
“Huh.” You lean back against your seat, staring out at the road with a dumbfounded expression. “Really? Did you just not plan anything?”
Jungkook looks offended. “Of course I did! I have a backup plan if you can’t come up with anything. I don’t know…I just thought it might be nice. Let’s go do whatever you want.”
The gears in your mind begin to turn and you’re half tempted to just go with whatever Jungkook has as his backup plan, until you remember something.
“You mean it?” You ask, wiggling your brows at Jungkook. “Whatever I want?”
Tumblr media
Jungkook stares in disbelief at the rundown building, a smile fighting its way onto his cheeks. “This? This is what you wanted?”
He must have thought that you’d choose something a bit more daring than this. However, you nod happily, slipping out of your seat and wandering over to his side of the car. He still remains inside, looking at the building with absolute confusion. With a sly grin, you open up his door and gesture for him to exit.
“C’mon, let’s eat.”
Together you make your way inside the open air restaurant, taking in the sight and smells. You wave at the worker behind the front counter, who grins and waves back at you.
Taking a seat in the far corner at a plastic chair and table, you can’t help but laugh at the awestruck expression on Jungkook’s face. The lighting inside is poor, it doesn’t quite reach your corner of the room. However, just enough of it reaches Jungkook to highlight the shadows on his face and occasionally catch on his eyes.
“This place has the best lamb skewers,” you explain. “I haven’t come out in a long time.”
Jungkook’s expression melts into one of adoration as he looks at you, and you wonder if he realizes it. “I love lamb skewers.”
“I know.”
When you’re ready, you call out your order to a passing worker. They nod, rushing to the back to pass it on. A few people are scattered throughout the restaurant, most of which are too enraptured by their food or their friends to pay any attention to you two. Jungkook blends right in, except for his giant boots that set him apart. Hopefully nobody will pay them any mind.
Settled across the table from Jungkook, you let out a sigh of relief.
“What?” Jungkook immediately asks, ever the intuitive one. “Are you sure everything’s alright? Maybe I should’ve come up with something fun to do instead of make you choose-”
You hold up a hand, waving him off. “No, I’m happy. This is…nice.”
Jungkook blinks, and suddenly you’re reminded of a date you went on in middle school. He somehow manages to revive those same butterflies when he looks at you like that.
“Are you sure?”
“Positive,” you reassure. “Although I am a little surprised that you aren’t the final date. Didn’t you decide the order?”
“Ah,” Jungkook leans back, forgetting that he’s sitting on a stool. He nearly topples over, making you lurch forward and grab his hand. “Uh, thank you,” he mutters as he sits up straight.
“Careful,” you quietly chide, going to sit back down. You attempt to take your hand out of his grasp, but Jungkook latches on. Intertwining his fingers through yours, he gives you a soft smile which has you relaxing in his grasp.
Resting your hands in the center of the table, Jungkook speaks up again. “Anyways, yeah. The order. I was planning on going last, but then the thing that Yoongi has planned didn’t work out for any other weekend. So we swapped.” He takes up tracing the outline of your knuckles, resting his chin in the palm of his free hand.
“I see.” The way that the shadows are playing with Jungkook’s features has you remembering a different time when you two were stuck a in dark room. “So…uh…” you try to come up with something else to say in order to fight off the memory of Jungkook’s arms around you.
You suppose that’s when it all started. And that’s traitorous question which had popped up into your mind in the haunted house, when you wondered if Jungkook was about to kiss you.
And you wondered if you’d let him.
Sitting across from him now and seeing how his eyes widen with excitement as your food is placed before you, you try and fail to fight off a similar question. One that’s been plaguing you for weeks now.
“These’re ‘mazing,” Jungkook coos as he takes another bite of the lamb skewer. “Why haven’t you told me about this place before?”
Chuckling at his reaction, you grab his wrist and angle the skewer toward you. Leaning forward, you take a bite of the food and watch as Jungkook visibly swallows.
You shrug. “It didn’t seem like something worth sharing at the time.”
“Mmm,” Jungkook appears to be scolding you, but the words aren’t quite coming out as food keeps going in. “Mm-mmhmm.”
You burst out laughing at his impressive performance, leaning back and-
Thwack!
Stool slipping out from under you, you collapse onto the ground in a fit of laughter. Jungkook throws his food down, jumping up to his feet and looking concerned until he sees that you’re still laughing. Shaking his head, he extends his hand and helps you back to your feet.
“It’s gonna be a miracle if we make it out of this place without a concussion.”
You wipe fake tears from your eyes, settling back down on your chair. “Promise me you’ll pay for my hospital bills?”
“I’ll consider it.”
When you gasp in offense, he points to the food. “Hey! It’s not my fault that you were keeping vital information from me! That really threw a wrench in my trust for you!”
“This is what you consider vital information?”
“Hey, don’t judge me.”
“I’m just saying…it’s a little concerning.”
“Don’t we tell each other everything?” Jungkook shoots back with pleading eyes. To an outsider, it looks like a typical lover’s quarrel. Little do they know, you’re bickering about lamb skewers.
You shoot him a pointed look. “Oh-ho, you really wanna talk about sharing everything? Need I mention a certain pact-”
“No, you do not.”
“Hmph.” You cross your arms. “That’s what I thought.”
“In my defense, I did tell you. Eventually.” From the way he begins chewing on his lips you can tell that he’s remembering the circumstances in which he told you about the pact.
However, it’s the way his eyes dart down to your mouth that have you recalling a feeling of unfinished business with Jungkook. You’re not quite sure what it is, but it’s there.
“After two years.”
He points a finger at you. “Hey, two and a half- oh, wait.”
“That didn’t help.”
“No yeah, I see that now.”
You snort, grabbing some food. It’s all too easy to slip back into your familiar banter with Jungkook. You’ve missed it.
Jungkook looks a little lost in his thoughts as he munches on his lamb skewer, a pout forming on his face. You nudge his knee under the table, shooting him a questioning look.
“What’s up?” You ask quietly.
He resumes chewing on the inside of his cheek, staring down at his food like he’s about to interrogate it. “Do you regret it?”
You’re not exactly sure what he’s referring to, but either way it leaves a knot in your stomach. “Regret what, Guk?”
Jungkook shrugs, his pout only growing. “Finding out about it? Agreeing to all this?”
Setting your food down, you ponder for a moment over the past six weeks. Perhaps a small part of you does regret knowing. However, it’s more for the fact that you know things can’t return to normal. Not after all you’ve experienced. Not after the way certain people have managed to lodge themselves into your heart more than you’d care to imagine.
“This,” you begin, and without thought you find yourself reaching across the table for Jungkook’s hand. He reads your thoughts, meeting you halfway. “Is the most terrifying thing I think I’ve ever done. It’s weird, and new, and frightening.”
Jungkook nods, seeming to have expected this. Before he can come to some silent understanding within his mind, you continue on.
“But I wouldn’t change it for the world. These last six weeks have been…” you shake your head, struggling to find the words.
How do you put this into words? Those small moments between breaths, the way you felt from the way some of the boys looked at you. How do you explain that you have never before felt so loved in your life? That despite the worries and improbability of it all, you would never change it for the world?
“…perfect.”
Blinking up at you, Jungkook looks a little shocked. “Perfect?”
“I’m glad you told me,” you admit, voice coming out a nothing more than a whisper. “I hope you don’t regret it.”
Jungkook’s eyes trail down to where your hands are interlocked. “I’m glad I told you, too.”
You feel so warm, sitting here. The food is half gone, the restaurant is loud and busy. Jungkook keeps one hand in yours as he takes up his skewer again, making sure to give you a bite every once in a while.
You’re so caught up in your thoughts that you don’t notice the rain that begins to fall. It drizzles at first, however when a clash of lightning strikes, you jolt. Jungkook squeezes your hand.
“Eat up,” he mumbles. “What do you wanna do after this?”
The rainfall seems to quell your thoughts, finally silencing them as you focus entirely on Jungkook. “I’m not sure…how about you choose? I already chose the food.”
Jungkook harrumphs his agreement, jumping up to go pay while you finish off the remaining food. It’s utterly delicious, even more so than you remember. Truly, your love of food knows no bounds.
You snort at yourself, probably looking like an idiot but enjoying your own company. Jungkook wanders back over, a half-smile already on his face at your state.
“What’s so funny?”
You shake your head, pointing to the platters of food. “I swear, I’m just using you guys so I can eat whatever I want. It’s amazing.”
Jungkook lets out a startled laugh. “I can’t believe you. Using us like that.” There’s no bite in his words, which only makes it all so much better. “C’mon, we’ll have to hurry to the car. It’s pouring out there.”
Indeed it is. Together the two of you sprint toward the car, cursing the fact that you didn’t have to foresight to at least bring a jacket. Instead you fend off the rain by throwing your hands over your head, heart melting a bit when you feel Jungkook trying his best to lean over you to take the brunt of the attack.
Once you’ve leapt inside the car it’s only a matter of seconds before Jungkook is on the other side. He shakes out his hair as he starts up the car, making you shout in protest.
Naturally, he does it a bit more.
“Yah!” You shout. “I surrender!”
This seems to sate him, making him smile at you mischievously. “Good.” Pulling out onto the road, he takes off toward an unknown destination. “Sit tight, we’ll be there in a bit.”
It doesn’t take long to get there. It’s a little difficult to tell where you are exactly due to the heavy rain, but you can just make out a pond and grove of trees beyond the downpour.
“Stay right here,” Jungkook instructs before diving out of the car.
Like, literally dives. You’re fairly certain he goes headfirst, making you burst out into peals of laughter. He reappears a second later, already drenched while he begins to lay the seats down. You’re dying to ask what he’s doing, but you’re not sure if he would be able to hear you as heavy raindrops thud against the roof.
Once he’s managed to get all of the seats down, he makes his way to the trunk. He glances up to where you watch from the front seat, a look of determination shining in his eyes.
“Close your eyes,” he orders. It’s hard to hear him, but it’s easy enough to read his lips. They’re glistening with raindrops, which he hasn’t bothered to lick off yet-
Er, it’s not like you were staring. Nah. No. Nothing like that. Just happened to notice them.
Yeah. That’s what it was.
Despite your curiosity, you turn around to face the front and close your eyes. It’s hard to tell what’s going on behind you, but you occasionally catch the sound of Jungkook crawling around.
It feels like an eternity later when Jungkook opens up your door, making you jump at the sudden onslaught of rain. He grins at you from behind his soaked hair, extending his hand.
“Hurry!”
Jumping out of the car, you chase after Jungkook who keeps a firm grip on your hand. He leads you around to the back of the car, where he hurries to open up the trunk.
You hardly have time to take in the sight the unfolds before your eyes before Jungkook wrapping his hands around your waist and hoisting you into the car. You push your hair out of your eyes, about to crawl forward when a hand on your ankle stops you.
“Shoes!” Jungkook shouts, apparently past the point of speaking in full sentences. Turning around to sit down properly, you get to work on one of your sneakers while Jungkook takes the other. Once they’re off, you crawl up to the front to toss them onto the floor.
Once they’re safely stowed away, you turn around and take a look at the back of the car.
Somehow, in the span of just a couple of minutes, Jungkook has transformed the back of the car into an impromptu paradise.
As he clambers in and brushes past you to toss his shoes up front, you gape. A couple of pillows are propped up on the edges of the car, looking like clouds amidst the sea of the comforter. The blanket itself is soft to the touch, and you spot another blanket folded in the corner. Hanging from the latches on the ceiling are battery powered string lights, dowsing you in a fairy-like dreamland.
The hatch remains open, providing a breathtaking view. Sure enough, there’s a pond. Just beyond the bond stands a grove of tall trees, hardly wavering in the rain. The entire view is nothing short of ethereal. It’s enough to leave you wondering for a moment if you’ve unintentionally wandered into some strange remake of A Midsummer Night’s Dream because you’ve become that there’s no way magic doesn’t exist.
And there’s Jungkook, sitting across from you with a timid smile while he delves into one of his many pockets in his cargo pants. A second later he produces a deck of cards, tossing them between you where they land softly on the thick comforter.
“This,” he says a touch breathlessly, “was my backup plan.”
There are no words left in your brain to describe this moment. The way water droplets drip from the long strands of Jungkook’s hair has you mesmerized, and you force yourself to reach out for that deck of cards and slide them from the box.
“This,” you stammer out, “is the best backup plan ever.”
Jungkook is radiant as his smile grows, nose scrunching up and a soft chuckle leaving those lips. “Thanks.”
You’re not sure how long you’re in the back of the car, playing Egyptian Ratscrew until tears are running from your eyes as you laugh and squeal. Jungkook inevitably wins, probably due to your vision being impaired by said tears. Eventually you decline a 33rd round (he says that it’s only the eleventh but your throbbing hands say it’s definitely the 33rd) in favor of laying out and watching the rain.
Jungkook joins you where you sprawl out on your stomach, watching the ripples in the pond as the rain continues. It’s let up a bit more now, but the sound of rain on the roof is enough to lull you into a tired trance.
Leaning into your side, Jungkook loops his arm through yours until his hand is resting on your own. You automatically rest your head against his shoulder, letting out a content sigh.
“Your hands are so red,” Jungkook whispers. You snort, examining your abused hands.
“Yeah, I told you that you slap hard,” you whisper back furiously. Jungkook chuckles, making you shake along with him.
“Don’t act all innocent. You about killed me,” he replies, showing off his reddened hands. “I forgot how brutal that game is.”
“Me too. But it’s so fun.”
“Mmm.”
“I mean, when else do I get a free pass to slap you?”
Now Jungkook laughs in earnest, the sound going straight to your heart. “You’re ruthless.”
“Hey, you’re the one that has a thing for ruthless women.”
“Touché.”
Soon the rhythm of the rain fades into the background as Jungkook takes up a melody, humming softly. Your eyes drift shut, taking in the sound.
It would be so easy to stay here forever. The blanket is so soft, Jungkook is so sweet, the view so perfect.
Your lips form the words before you completely comprehend what’s going on. “…wanna stay here.”
“Hmm?” Jungkook asks, his voice coming from above you. He shifts, arm resting along your back and wrapping around your waist. “What’d you say, jagiya?”
“I wanna stay.”
“We can stay a little longer,” he reassures gently. You shake your head, nuzzling deeper into his side.
“Forever, though.”
“You wanna stay forever?”
“Mhmm.”
Jungkook brushes a hand through your hair before running a finger along your jawline. “Back here, with me? And the blankets?”
You hum in agreement. “And the lights and the rain.”
He lets out a breathy laugh. “It can’t rain forever, jagiya.”
“Why not?” Your brain isn’t completely coherent at the moment, but you don’t try to stop it.
“We’d float away.”
“Oh.”
“Ok?”
“Mm.”
Eventually the rain turns into a light drizzle and Jungkook deems it time to head back. It’s already late, but you find yourself wanting to bask in the soft glow that the string lights provide for just a moment longer.
Jungkook reassures you that he won’t put the seats back up yet, but that you need to head up front. Getting up and moving seems to kickstart your brain, and you’re much more awake when you settle into the front seat.
The two of you settle into a comfortable silence, the radio quietly singing. You two sing along, and you stare out the window as you drive down the streets of Itaewon. You pass the spot you ate earlier, making you smile.
All too soon, you’re turning onto your street. It’s enough to make you attempt sinking through the seat, but Jungkook parks the car and comes around to your side.
“Welcome home,” he mumbles as you slide out of the car. You turn your face up to the sky, allowing the light rain to wake you up a bit more.
“Thank you.”
Jungkook takes your hand in his as you head up the stairs to your apartment, and you wonder for a moment if that’s your racing pulse you feel or his own. It’s that question that has you racing back to reality.
The doorstep.
You reach your door, turning to face Jungkook. You haven’t even tried getting your keys out yet, the thought hasn’t crossed your mind. Instead, you stare up at Jungkook only to find him chewing on the inside of his cheek and staring down at the ground. He massages the back of his neck, looking for all the world like he’s forgotten how to speak.
“Thank you,” you repeat for the second time in less than a minute. “I really enjoyed it, Jungkook. I…” your words trail off as Jungkook takes a step forward, hands reaching around you to wrap around the railing of your porch.
“Do you ever wonder what might have happened…” Jungkook’s eyes snap up to yours, and they betray his next words as they drift to your lips. “If I had kissed you that night?”
A sound comes out of your throat, however you’re not sure if it was a half-formed word or simply a reaction to the way Jungkook nibbles on his bottom lip as he tilts his head to one side.
He takes another micro-step, effectively trapping you between him and the wrought iron railing. “Because I do. Every day.”
Again, that question comes flying back from the catacombs of your memory. Right now, you wonder if he’ll kiss you.
You wonder if you’d let him.
The fact that this question has been on your mind for so long makes you realize the answer to his question.
You’re not sure how you manage to speak as you feel Jungkook’s hands slide onto your waist, but you do. “Y-yes. I do.” Taking a deep breath you utter out, “Of course I do.”
Another step, a bit of rain slipping down the bridge of his nose. He looks like he’s stopped breathing, but you wonder if that’s only because you’re holding your breath.
He’s leaning down, eyes so focused on yours that you feel as though your soul has been laid out before him. Finally, once he’s mere millimeters away, he takes a shaky breath.
“Just once.”
You wonder if it was meant more for himself than for you, but you don’t have time to entertain the thought for long before he’s pressing forward.
The first touch of his lips against yours reminds you of the paradise you were in just minutes ago. His lips are soft – so soft – against yours, reminding you of resting on a cloud. His lips are hesitant, so unlike the iron-like grip he has on your hips.
Some part of your brain is screaming at you, although you’re unsure of why. What could the consequences of such a beautiful action be?
It’s beautiful enough to make you frown when Jungkook pulls away, the raindrops on his lips long gone as you taste them on your lips. He looks down at you sheepishly, taking a single step back.
“I- I…” he chokes the words out, looking like there might be an internal war going on in his head as well. For a moment, he wins. “One more,” he whispers, the words almost lost to the soft pitter patter of the rain.
He’s much faster this time, throwing caution to the wind as he closes in on you. One hand tangles itself in your hair, the other caressing your cheek as you sigh against his mouth. The kiss is a little sloppy, the force of it nearly making you stumble backward. You cling to his shirt in an effort to remain upright, attempting to somehow crawl closer despite your already close proximity.
One more quickly turns into two, then three. All you know is the feel of his lips against yours and the rain gently falling, having lost count a while ago.
Everything is Jungkook, Jungkook-
Completely unbidden, someone else floats into your train of thought.
You gasp as your thoughts take an unexpected turn, eyes flying open. The sight before you completely wrecks you.
Jungkook leans forward once more, hair a mess and cheeks rosy pink. There’s a dazed look in his eyes, and you realize that he must have assumed you just needed to breathe before falling into you again.
He leans in, quick to turn your thoughts toward him again. Soon it’s him, all him in your head.
And yet-
You stumble back as though struck by lightning, then jump in earnest as lightning does strike. Jungkook stares at you, but for a brief moment as his features are lit up by the lightning, all you can see is him.
What does that even mean?
“I- uh…” you’re practically panting, fighting with all you have to not reach out for Jungkook as he takes a step back. His eyes clear a bit, and you can already see the guilt festering in his eyes. You attempt a joke. “Aren’t you breaking rule #5?”
Jungkook blinks at you. “What? I…that was…a lot. I’m so sorry…rule five? What?”
“You know…the pact, rule five-” you throw a hand over your mouth, realizing that you may have said too much.
“How do you know that’s rule #5?” Jungkook asks, but you’re already pushing him off your porch and fumbling for your keys. “Wait, have you read-”
“Thanks again, Jungkook!” You shout over your shoulder, throwing your front door open. “And, er, I liked kissing you- wait, that’s not normal-”
Jungkook laughs, although still looking concerned. He frowns, and you do your best to avoid noting just how much pinker his lips look now. “I hope you’re ok-”
“Great! I’m great!”
You’re not. You’re a little frantic at the moment, but great.
With that, Jungkook waves goodbye and turns away, bidding you goodnight.
It’s a long time before you move out of the front room. Instead, you take up camp on your couch, staring off into the distance. Replaying, rewinding, reliving what just happened.
In the end, you’re more confused than when you began.

Leave Before You Love Me
A/N: College/highschool AU inspired by "Leave Before You Love Me" by Jonas Brothers x Marshmello. I don't know, I can't decide if it's college or highschool.
Warning: IMPLICATIONS OF SMUT. Just brief mentions. Because I'm a pure, innocent child and will throw my computer out of my window at the thought of writing smut. The few suggestive sentences I wrote had me cringing and flushing bright red.
----------
Your eyes flutter open as the sunlight seeps through the blinds. You groan, snuggling closer to the warm body next to yo- Hold on. Your eyes snap open and you backpedal, falling off the bed noisily.
"Ow!"
The naked figure stirs but doesn't wake and you creep around the room, grabbing your scattered clothes. Slipping out the bedroom door, you make it about halfway down the stairs before an annoying voice startles you.
"So you slept over, eh?"
You turn to find Pietro Maximoff leaning against the banister of the stairs, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. He slides smoothly down the banister, sliding past you as you continue trekking down the stairs.
"Yeah, I guess I fell asleep without knowing." You rub the back of your neck sheepishly, flashes of last night going off in your head. You follow him into the kitchen where he pulls out some leftovers from the fridge. He snorts.
"Sure. Well, I can't let you leave here in good conscience without at least feeding you." It's your turn to stifle a giggle.
"Feeding me with food your mother prepared?" He slides a bowl of reheated tomato soup over.
"It's the thought that counts."
You sip at the soup thoughtfully, barely holding back a groan at the taste of the soup.
"I don't get it. How can your mom make food taste so good? And it's reheated!" You pout, sullenly poking at the red liquid. Pietro laughs, slurping up his soup noisily, leaving a few tomato splatters all over his face. You snort, pointing at your own face.
"You got tomato soup everywhere Piet." He wipes at his mouth wildly with his shirt sleeve, managing to wipe away every spot except for one. You sigh amusedly, reaching out to with your napkin to wipe it off.
"Ahem." The two of you jump apart at the sudden noise. Standing in the doorway is Wanda, her hair ruffled, her long legs poking out from under the oversized sweater wrapped around her.
Do you think she's wearing anything underneath that?
You mentally chide yourself for having such dirty thoughts. Wanda makes her way to the marble countertop looking visibly disgruntled, sitting beside you. You scooch over a bit, hoping to leave a respectable distance between the two of you but after last night, she appears to have other plans, stealing Pietro's bowl of soup and sliding much closer to you.
Pietro smirks, taking his backpack from the back of his chair and slinging it over his shoulder.
"Well, I'll leave you two lovebirds alone. See you at school!" You gag on your remaining bit of soup. The door slams behind him and Wanda scoots impossibly closer to you.
"So..." She flutters her eyelashes at you and you gulp. "About last night-"
You stand up abruptly, dropping your empty bowl into the sink and grabbing your backpack.
"See you at school Wanda!" You mutter, your face turning the same shade as the tomato soup.
"Wait!" She sighs as the door slams shut.
----------
"How was last night?" Darcy asks nonchalantly.
You choke and she rushes to pat you on the back.
"Geez, was it that bad?" She cracks and you offer her a weak smile, attempting to take your mind off the recurring thoughts of Wanda, hovering above you, necklaces and wavy auburn hair dangling above you. You shiver, turning back to Darcy, who waits expectantly for your answer.
"It was fine." You answer tentatively and she stares at you exasperatedly as you take a swig of water.
"So you didn't... Sleep with her?" Your eyes fly open, water spraying out of your mouth and all over Darcy. "Oh gross!"
"I- Yeah I did." You crack under Darcy's stern gaze as she wipes the spit-water off of herself. She cries out triumphantly, attracting a few odd stares from your surrounding classmates.
"I knew it! You've been pining after her for ages! So you guys are together now?" You sigh and she deflates, her jubilant mood evaporating. "Why are you sighing?"
"I left before she could say anything." Darcy stands up, slamming her fists onto the table.
"What!? Why?" She curses, immediately nursing her injured fists.
"You know why. I'm not risking anything. You remember how bad it was when I got dumped by Natasha?" Darcy frowns.
"Wanda is the polar opposite of Natasha." She points out and your eyebrows crease as you think.
"I know but- Oh shit." You mutter, your eyes landing on Wanda who appears to be approaching at a rather fast pace. "Gotta go!" You scoop up your bag and books and take off at a surprising speed, tripping a few times in your hurry. Darcy looks around for a bit and understanding dawns on her when Wanda reaches their table.
"Have you seen Y/N?" Wanda tugs at her auburn locks rather nervously.
"Nope." Darcy lies through her teeth. Wanda groans in frustration before taking off again. Darcy shakes her head before returning her attention to the massive pile of books in front of her.
-----------
"Y/N!" A voice booms and you flinch as an arm wraps around you.
"Hey Tony." You smile weakly at the teen genius.
"You're comin' to my party right?" He flashes you an award-winning smile and you open your mouth to protest but he cuts you off, answering his own question with his massive ego. "Of course you're coming. I'll be watching out for you." With one last wink at you, he saunters away. You deflate, shoving your books into your locker.
"Damn I've gotta learn to say no." You slam your locker shut and turn to find yourself staring into a pair of startlingly green eyes. For a moment your stomach backflips as you assume they're Wanda's but then clarity reaches its hand out to you. You snarl.
"What do you want?" Natasha regards you with sad eyes, shuffling her feet in front of you.
"You know what I want." You start down the bustling hallway at a smart pace with Nat trailing behind you. "I want you."
"You broke up with me Natasha Romanoff, not the other way around. You don't get to barge into my life again and make requests like you own the place." She stares at you with watery eyes, grabbing your arm.
"Do I not own your heart anymore?" She says quietly and you falter for a moment, almost reaching out but another arm wraps around your waist, tugging you away.
"Do not touch her." This time, you look up into the unmistakable eyes of Wanda Maximoff.
"You." Nat growls and Wanda pries her fingers off your arm.
"I will not ask you again." With one last dirty glare at Wanda, she glides away, disappearing in the groups of people.
"Y/N, I really need to talk to-" You cut her off, wrenching your body out of her grasp and disappearing swiftly into the crowds. "-you. God damn it!" She stomps her foot angrily.
---------
Tony Stark's parties are known for being obnoxiously loud and filled with drunk teenagers.
You carefully make your way to the door of his home, where loud music can be heard, blasting through the walls. A couple falls out of a bush, the boy's shirt unbuttoned and the girl's dress half ripped. You blush, averting your eyes before stepping into the mansion.
It's safe to say, you'd rather have stayed outside with the couple then stay inside.
Everywhere you look, there are drunk, horny teenagers grinding on each other, making your stomach roil. You shake your head, immediately heading towards the washroom which happens to be upstairs. The winding staircase leaves you panting for air as you trudge past an empty bedroom towards the washroom. An arm wraps around your wrist, pulling you into said bedroom. You scream but it's muffled by a soft hand clapping around your mouth.
"Shhhhh!" A familiar voice hisses behind you, removing their hand.
"Wanda?" You whisper, scrunching your eyebrows in confusion. She wraps her arms around your waist, giving you a light kiss behind your ear.
"Hello love. Remembered me have you?" She whispers, her voice silky as her kisses trail downwards. You shiver at her touch.
"Wanda. We can't." You protest weakly. "It's a party. This is Tony's house." She ignores your feeble protests and you sigh.
Fuck it.
---------
You purr at the comfortable warmth next to you when you wake, burying your face further into the figure.
It chuckles and you squeal in fright, attempting to wriggle away but it's already put it's arms around you again.
"Where do you think you're going lyubov?" You flush at the pet name but gently pull yourself out of her arms and into a standing position. The bed creaks as Wanda stands up as well. You pull your shirt on and begin pulling your jeans on. "Y/N."
You ignore her and continue buttoning your pants together.
"Y/N." She says more forcibly and you turn, unable to ignore her.
"Yes?" She regards you weakly, her hands behind her back.
"When are you going to face the truth?" You stare at her, flabbergasted by her line of questioning.
"What are you talking about?" You play dumb and she sighs.
"This, Y/N! Us." She gesticulates angrily at you.
"We can't do this anymore. We shouldn't." You avoid her eyes, guilt flooding you.
"Please." She whispers, stretching her arms out in an attempt to caress your face but you flinch away. "Please tell me you feel something. Anything. You know you love me."
You steel your resolve.
"I don't feel anything." Wanda's soft sniffles echo throughout your ears and mind as you close the door behind you.

Word Count: 4480

Working at Kineros Robotics for the vast majority of her life, nothing really fazed Wilhemina anymore. Especially with the bullshit her bosses come up with daily, but when the redhead finds a strange invitation on her desk that morning, she never thought her life could get any stranger. The invitation that was written, well, typed, on very fancy looking stationary, held coordinates to a Hotel she never wanted to visit in her existence, but when she sees there is a list of nine other women's names, she assumes they're women, anyway; It piques her curiosity regardless and later that evening takes the rest of the weekend off work so she can drive the few hours to the Hotel.
Never been one for tardiness, the redhead arrives a mere twenty minutes early, the receptionist with ridiculous glasses asking her if she had booked a room to which she banged her cane and left towards the bar without a word.  Conversation, socialising has never really been her strong suit, you can really blame her mother for that. She had been isolated from the outside world for most of her life growing up. Thinking back, she's glad for it. People are despicable. The bar isn't too shabby, not that she could complain, dark, quiet, she quite enjoys the ambience. Her cane clanks, hitting off the floor as she makes her way over to the bartender.
"And what can I get you, this fine evening?" she, she assumes, smiles politely. Nice enough.
"Anything purple?" her nose scrunched at the ridiculous request that leaves her mouth and she scolds herself silently moments before the bartender points a finger at her.
"You know what? I have just the thing," she turns around to pour the drinks, Wilhemina watching her every move, "So what brings you here?"
"Is that any of your business?"
"Oh, no, not at all." she shakes her head, "Enjoy your drink," Wilhemina eyes the mysterious neon concoction in front of her momentarily, before spotting a straw holder in the corner of her eyes and she reaches out to grab one when a hand grazes over her own.
"Oh, sorry," a British woman with a blonde pixie cut says quickly, pulling her hand away. "You look familiar, do I know you from anywhere?"
"No, I assure you, you don't."
The blonde put the green straw into her whiskey? before sipping it, "My name's Audrey, Audrey Tindall. I know what you're thinking..." Does this woman ever shut up? "I'm not related to the royal Tindalls, no."
"Did I ask?" Wilhemina cocks her head a little towards her and she quickly shies away, "Get out of my sight," The blonde scurries off to the other end of the bar while Wilhemina tries to enjoy her drink.
-
"Mom, what's this?" Ally looks over her shoulder, her arms elbow-deep in her sink as she washes up the dishes from dinner.
"Not sure, Ozzy. Can you read it for me, Sweetheart?"
"To whom it may concern, You are not alone.
34.0443° N, 118.2508° W
Ally, Audrey, Bette, Billie, Cordelia, Dot, Karen, Lana, Sally, Wilhemina. What does it mean, Mom?"
Ally empties the sink and clears away the dishes before wiping her hands on a towel, "I really don't know, does it say anything else? Give it here," she holds her hand out and he passes it to her as she studies it curiously.
-
"Karen!" The woman turns her head towards the door at her friend with a little smile on her face, "Guess who has mail?"
Her eyes widen in anticipation, "No, you're joking! Me?"
"Of course you! Open it." Mickey smiles as he passes it to her. She excitedly rips open the envelope, careful enough not to destroy the contents and unfolds the paper curiously. "Well, What does it say?"
"A bunch of numbers and names, Mick I think this is just junk,"
"No, Karen, the first mail you get in years, it can't be junk. Let me see," she passes it to him and in the dimness of the room, he looks at the letter. "They seem to be coordinates for somewhere,"
"Like for treasure?"
"Exactly, well, you never know, but could be someone who wants to murder you for all we know. But look, it says You are not alone."
"Course I'm not alone, fuck face, I have you."
-
Cordelia sets aside her paperwork for the evening, cradling a cup of hot coffee in her hands, she sighs as she takes a look at the monstrous pile of work ahead. She nudges her glasses further up her nose as the door of her office swung open. "Madison, how many times have I told you to knock?"
The younger blonde rolled her eyes as her arms crossed against her chest, "And why would I do that?"
"I could have been doing... something." the Supreme says before taking a sip from her coffee.
"When exactly was the last time you got laid, Cordy?"
This time the Supreme rolls her eyes before glaring at the younger witch, "And when was the last time you got laid, Maddy?" she snaps back, Madison slumps her shoulders, the smirk that graced her lips disappearing quickly, "What do you want?"
"I forgot to give you this when the mail came this morning," she absentmindedly threw a letter down on the desk before storming out.
Cordelia once again rolled her eyes at the girl, eyeing the mysterious envelope before picking it up.
-
Wilhemina looks down at the watch on her wrist whilst trying to figure out who exactly she's supposed to be meeting. The bar is seemingly quiet, and she stays seated at the stools near the bartender, Liz, who had told her her name, although she definitely didn't ask. Liz is a talker and a very annoying one at that, although Wilhemina is quite enjoying her company right now, or rather lack of as she attends to other women at the bar. A thought enters her mind at that moment, the name Audrey did ring bells, although not any ridiculous royal ones. She pulls the letter out of her blazer pocket and adjusts the glasses on her nose. There. The second name. Audrey. Was that her? Great. Now she does have to actually go off and talk to the chatterbox. She rolls her eyes before sighing, picking up her cane as she makes her way over to where Audrey is sitting, she seems to be sitting next to a brunette who did look quite familiar.
"Oh, hey!" Audrey greets, getting up from her place at the booth seemingly for Wilhemina to seat next to her. Wilhemina quickly turns around grabbing a chair from behind her and drags it to towards the table closer to the brunette instead, "Oh," the blonde says before pulling out a packet of cigarettes from her purse. "Do you mind?"
"I do actually, yes," Wilhemina says and the brunette turns to her.
"Are you here because of the letter as well?" Wilhemina nods and the other woman brings out her hand towards her for her to shake it, "I'm Ally, Ally Mayfair-Richards?"
"You're the one that was in that cult weren't you?" Wilhemina says. This has got to be the most interesting thing that has happened all night.
"Oh." Ally pulls her hand away looking around slightly awkwardly, "So you don't know me from my senator work? How did you know about the -"
"I saw it on this silly show I watched on the True crime channel."
"Right. So must know a lot about me then," she sips from her wine and Audrey annoyingly, despite Wilheminas dismissal, lights up a cigarette. "What's your name."
"Wilhemina Venable."
"Oh your name is Wilhemina, it's such a -"
"I'd prefer to be referred to only as Ms. Venable." Fine. Wilhemina has now made this awkward, thanks mouth. Change the subject. "Seven more women to find," she states, looking at the two, her hand gripped tightly around her cane. "Is this some sort of gangb-" Nope. "Right, I'm going to get another drink, excuse me."
"Sally that girl, what can I get you?" Liz asks a blonde that is definitely stuck in the '90s. Her hair is fully crimped, her outfit choice, however, is far more ridiculous, fishnet tights, a very short skirt, revealing shirt. Stop staring.
"The usual," she mumbles before diverting her attention back to the woman beside her. "So, are you from Tennessee? You're the only ten I see," Wilhemina almost spits her drink out as she hears the conversation between the two.
"No actually, I'm from Massachusetts." the brunette says, nodding slightly, clearly slightly uncomfortable.
"Oh, it's pretty close though, right."
"No you blonde idiot, it's a 17-hour drive," Wilhemina says and the blonde turns to look at her and this time she looks at her face.
"Did I ask you?"
"No, course not. I just like correcting idiots,"
"Well, I'm sorry we all couldn't afford to go to private schools," the blonde then storms off somewhere else, Wilhemina genuinely doesn't care. The brunette, however, slides closer over to Wilhemina.
"Thank you," she smiles.
Wilhemina's face turned to one of a fish, "What for?" The other woman continued sipping from her drink before leaning a little too close for comfort to Wilhemina before taking a deep breath.
"Is this.." she pauses, Wilhemina only furrows her brows at her, "Is this a 'girl' bar?" she asks curiously, "I'm only asking because..."
"Good question," the redhead smiles as she looks around the room, only women are seated, mainly bundled together with Ally and Audrey," Maybe this woman is one of the names on the list too. "Surely hope not," she mumbles. She doesn't want to make conversation but it seems she needs to. "What brings you here?" she continues to drink the nuclear waste that Liz calls a drink and looks at the brunette. She seems familiar too.
"I... This is going to sound really weird."
"Not as weird as that, I assure you," she points behind her and the brunette turns around to see a woman with two heads walk through the door with the frizzy blonde talking to them.
"Probably just as... How is that possible? That's fascinating." The brunette brings up her purse and pulls out a notepad."I'm a writer, you may have read my book. It's quite popular among women." She speaks but Wilhemina isn't listening. Distracted by the definition of fucking weird that just entered the room.
"You girls here for the "meeting"?" the frizzy blonde asks them and the head on the left nods. Creepy.
"Nice," she grabs a cigarette, it hanging from her mouth lazily as she spoke. Ok, so far there are Audrey, Ally, writer girl, the one Liz called Sally, the two-headed beast... Wilhemina looks around and spots another blonde speaking to Audrey and Ally. So extra blonde. And a homeless woman sitting at the back end of the bar.
"If you're here for the meeting, come over here!" extra blonde calls out over to her table and Wilhemina rolls her eyes, her cane clanking loudly as she walks over to the table. "I'm Cordelia Goode. Supreme of my coven in New Orleans."
"Ally Mayfair-Richards, I came here from Maine. Had to find a babysitter before I drove all the way here,"
"Audrey Tindall. Had to get a flight back from England."
"Lana, Lana Winters." the writer girl added.
"Wait.." three heads turn to her. "How is that possible?" Ally spoke.
Lana shrugged, an uncomfortable smile gracing her lips, "What do you mean?"
"You're... young?"
"Oh, wow, am I that old?"
"I- no of course not."
"What's that?" Wilhemina turns her head towards the left of the beast as she stares down at Sally's cellphone.
"Oh, come on I've been stuck here since the nineties and even I know what it is." she rolls her eyes.
The right one furrowed her brows. "90s?"
The two of them stared into space for a moment, their expressions changing every so often as if they're in a conversation and Wilhemina shakes her head and diverts her attention to the homeless one toddling over to the rest of the group. She looks paranoid, looking over her shoulders as if someone is following her.
"The rest of the introductions?" Audrey says, bringing the letter out and Lana handing her a pen from her purse before she ticks off the names of people here. "What's your name, sweetheart?" she asks the homeless one but she doesn't answer, peeking into the massive tote bag on her shoulder before Wilhemina hits her ankle with her cane to gain her attention.
"I'm not telling you my name. I don't even know who you are," she states
"Why are you sitting with us then?" the right one says before the homeless one gives them a look.
"I know people like you, fuck faces, huge assholes," she mutters
"I'm Dot, this is Bette, "Right one says almost headbutting the other
"I can introduce myself, Dot,"
Dot turns her head to look at her, "Well you were taking your sweet time,"
"Okay, we're only missing Billie and Karen."
Sally chuckles, her cigarette still hanging from her mouth, "That's definitely Karen," she points over to a blonde with wavy hair, pink blouse, pearl necklace and a pencil skirt and fake nails. "I actually thought you were Karen until you said your name is Audrey," she looks to Audrey and Wilhemina purses her lips trying to stifle her laugh.
Audrey looked offended as if someone ran over her mothers already dead body. Her nostrils flaring as she leans over the table towards Sally, "And what do you mean by that?"
Before anything happens and all hell breaks loose in the Hellmouth they already were in, the homeless one squeaks up. "I'm Karen."
That's it. Wilhemina laughed. "What's so funny?" Cordelia asks the redhead who continued chuckling as she tried to drink her acid.
"Nothing, continue."
Lana finally pieces the puzzle together, "That's Billie."
"Congratulations, would you like a gold star. I'm sure Mommy senator here has plenty for you." Wilhemina chuckled at her own joke because it was funny. The other women did laugh too. Billie made her way over somewhat gracefully, her hands flaring as if she's trying to pick up a watermelon. Karen probably has one hidden in that Mary Poppins bag of hers.
"Good evening, girls. I'm Billie Dean Howard, Medium to the stars." she flutters her fingers around like one of those stupid ASMR videos that Wilhemina has not ever watched before and took a seat beside Bette and Dot.
"Were you the one who sent the letters?" Bette asked, her fingers fiddling with the hem of the dress she shared? with Dot before Dot slapped her fingers away.
"No, I assume you're all here for the same thing. As am I. Unfortunately, it had to be here though,"
Cordelia sighs, shifting uncomfortably in her seat seeming to know what the hell Billie was actually talking about. "I know, it's like they're screaming in the walls."
Liz comes over handing Billie her drink while giving a pointed look towards Sally, "What? I didn't kill everyone here, y'know."
"Your reputation says otherwise." she turns to the rest of the group, "Enjoy your stay,"
"Does anyone actually know what this is about... Wait I know you, I've seen your face on the side of a bus," Audrey says excitedly
"And I know you, Ms Audrey Tindall. Making a big name for yourself I see after My Roanoke Nightmare." Billie smiles at her and Wilhemina gives a look of impressive to the two blondes.
"Oh god don't. My shrink is still drilling it into my head that it wasn't real."
"What wasn't?" Lana asks curiously, her notepad in hand as she continued to write notes.
"You haven't seen the show?"
"What show?"
Wilhemina diverts her attention towards Ally's and Cordelia's conversation although it seemed to be about cheating exs so then she focuses on what Dot, Bette and Sally were saying.
"It's 1952 where you're from?" Okay, now that is interesting. "How did you get here?" Sally points her phone in their faces.
"Can you please get that thing out of our faces! It's scary," Bette says,
"We killed our mother and you're saying that's scary." Fine. She stood up and made her way to Karen.
"Don't want to talk to you." she mumbled, seemingly comfortable slightly curled up in the seat.
"I don't want to talk to you either." Hmm, maybe the homeless one isn't too bad after all.
After a few extra drinks, everyone seems to be in a better mood, laughing, joking, much to Wilhemina's dismay, and even still trying to make conversation with her. Which she has done. Gotten to reluctantly know more about those with who she was almost forcefully made to be made acquaintances. Sally stood up on the chair, wobbling slightly as she tries to regain her balance. "Ladies, Unfortunately, Liz is closing up for the night." most women whined but Wilhemina was genuinely happy she finally got to go home. Was this it? What exactly was this about? "But... We can take this party up to my room,"
Wilhemina almost growled to herself, the thought of being at home a lot more comfortable than being in a hotel room with nine other women. All women stood up and followed Sally to the elevators. Billie and Cordelia following behind as they chatted.
Wilhemina slowed her pace a little mainly because she felt like her back couldn't handle it but also because she wants to know what the two blondes are talking about. "If the letters weren't really from you, then who was it?" Cordelia asks
"I genuinely thought it was you, dear. Seems like a 'you' thing to be bringing in people of all backgrounds, especially lonely ones at that,"
"I'm not lonely. You don't even know me." Karen pipes up defensively, still holding her bag close.
"No, not at all." Billie shakes her head, "But I do know when one is feeling lost and doesn't know how to get back up," she says before rushing off to get to the others.
Wilhemina's steps slowed as she enters the elevator, not one for taking the stairs. She opens her mouth but Cordelia is quick to speak, "I like your hair," the redhead raises an eyebrow at the blonde, a hint of a blush rising on her cheeks.
"You're drunk, Ms. Goode,"
"Oh, please. Call me Cordelia. I'm nothing like my mother." she says before her expression turns somewhat sorrowful. Her mouth opened, slightly agape seeming as she wants to speak but she doesn't. So Wilhemina decides it's humane of her to change the subject.
"You know Ms. Howard?" she looks down at the floor, the elevator dinging indicating their arrival on the floor where Sally's room is located.
"Oh yes, she's not a witch though," the blonde slightly stumbles out, almost tripping on her heels when Wilhemina rolls her eyes reaching her arm out to catch her.
"I didn't ask," she states, although she is due for another awful round of dosed up fuckery that is her medication she fights through it, tries to anyway. Liz's miracle drinks seem to be working fine as an atomic type of painkiller. She allows Cordelia to loop her arm around her shoulder, hers around the blonde's waist as they walk down the hallway towards the room Karen just strangely snuck into as if she's there on a heist.
"You know of my story then?" Lana asks seemingly gobsmacked towards the other women, "And not from my book, from my talk show? One I don't even have yet?"
"How exactly did you get here?" Audrey asks curiously as she sits down on the bed, crossed legged like an elementary school child.
"I received the letter, like the rest of you. I took the train. Fell asleep, woke up at the station and everything was different but I couldn't really explain it. Then I asked around about the coordinates and someone guided me to this hotel."
"The same thing happened to us," Bette smiled at her but Dot was quick to scold her
"Don't listen to my idiot of a sister, we've never been on a train in our lives. We woke up, found the note at the foot of our bed and started to get ready for our show."
"Show?" Billie asks before closing her eyes for a brief moment. "Does the name Eudora mean anything to you?"
"We work fo-" Bette starts
"No, absolutely not. Bette, we're leaving."
"But we've been having so much fun, Dot."
"No,"
"She says she forgives you."
Tears well up in both their eyes for a moment as they sit back down on the bed. Wilhemina slowly helps Cordelia sit down on the armchair beside them and awkwardly perches on the arm of said chair.
"She forgives you Bette for what you did but," she closes her eyes before facing Dot, "She doesn't forgive you for what you tried to do to your sister."
An awkward silence filled the room, only to be heard are the sniffles from the twins and the lighting up of cigarettes before Sally broke the silence, "You know, I would probably do anything to have a sister and you tried to kill her?" Dot looks away ashamedly.
Bette, sweet Bette, she seems so childlike, she just smiles, "I would do anything to make my Dot happy,"
"I would rather kill myself than let anyone treat me the way she treats you." Sally rolls her eyes "And I'm dead," she brings her hand to the side of her mouth as if she's revealing a huge secret.
"At least she's not alone," Ally says, sipping on more wine. "I'd do anything for my son, the way Bette clearly would for her sister."
"And let her kill herself?" Audrey remarks, "That's not love."
"Wouldn't you kill for love? Fight for others."
"I'd rather be a lover than a fighter, because all my life, I've been fighting." Lana says, "I've lost the love of my life and had been through so much I ca-" tears escape her eyes and Audrey curls up beside her, wrapping an arm around her frame.
Karen opened her mouth wanting to speak, most of them probably expecting her spewing profanities but instead, her face was calm, "I've never felt a feeling of comfort. All this time, I've been hiding. Where I'm from the stupid fuckfaces who live there..." There we go. "All they do is just think I'm some mad homeless woman -"
"Aren't you?" Wilhemina blurts out, a smirk gracing her lips and Karen glares at her.
"That's not the point, you fucking, purple, fucking, dragon bitch."
Wilhemina tilts her head, impressed with the insult. "Carry on."
"I don't want to anymore."
"I never had someone to call my own," Bette says, her usual smile now a frown as she fights back her own tears
"I'm so used to sharing." Dot mutters, looking down at her fingers. Billie reaches out to hold their hands to comfort them.
"Love only left me alone," Audrey says,
"I've found peace in the violence, can't tell me there's no point in trying," Sally says, cigarette hanging from her mouth as she speaks, mascara running down her face
Wilhemina thinks it's her turn to speak, Cordelia looking at her intently from the seat. "I'm in need of a saviour," it feels like she confessed her deepest darkest secrets. Words she would have never thought she would say out loud to anyone. She sees Billie lift her head as if to speak "But I'm not asking for favours," she says, Billie nods understandingly.
"My whole life, I've felt like a burden," Cordelia pipes up, her chin quivering as she spoke. "I think too much, and I hate it"
Ally pulls a small face, finishing her wine before she spoke, "I'm so used to being in the wrong. I'm tired of caring."
"Loving never gave me a home" Karen speaks again, probably feeling a lot more comfortable with the group now. Which is surprising as she acted as if they would kill her.
"I'll sit here in the silence," Billie says. She hadn't said anything. She gave a small smile before lighting up a cigarette. Wilhemina only groans, now her clothes probably stank worse than an ashtray at the amount the four women had smoked like a chimney. "I'm at one with myself. I've been quiet for so long."
There's silence for a few moments. Not uncomfortable at all, surprisingly. Although plenty of tears, small sobs escaping and a few hugs. This was needed. Everyone felt seen, even in the silence of the room. They felt heard. They all understood and could relate one way or another to each other and, maybe the letter was right. You are not alone.
But the one question is... who was the one who had sent it?
Maybe someone out there who cared enough for each woman individually and knew their struggles maybe even up to a personal extent. Maybe whoever sent it just wanted the women to know that they are loved and people do care.
Maybe it was you.
-
The night was slowly coming to an end, the women started to say their goodbyes when Lana had an idea, "Sally?"
Sally lifted her head from where it lay on Cordelia's shoulder as the two blondes were almost fast asleep. "Hmm?" Wilhemina stood, collecting her cane ready to leave but Cordelia's hand stopped her, grabbing onto the hem of her blazer.
"Give me your cell number, I have an idea." the brunette gave Sally the pen and paper and Sally wrote her number down, passing it back. "If I remember you'd hear from me again," then the brunette vanished. Magic tricks aside, most of the women were either too drunk or half-asleep to even react. Sally's phone began ringing loudly, Wilhemina picked it up, disgusting fluffy case in hand as Sally snatches it from her.
"Hello?"
"Sally? It's me, Lana. Put me on speaker." the familiar yet different voice said. The women looked, Wilhemina observing from the door until she noticed Bette and Dot aren't there either.
"Lana, it's you?" Audrey says, tears in her eyes, "God I've missed you." It's been less than two minutes you dramatic blonde. Wilhemina rolls her eyes as Lana chuckles down the phone.
"I've missed you too, Audrey. It's been fifty-five years since I had last heard your voice."
Wilhemina, now confused, was ready to leave. She pried the sleepy blonde away and left. On the way back to her home, she magically bumped into Billie. "What do you want?" she almost snapped.
"We're wondering if you'd like to meet back up at the hotel again next week." the blonde smiles, of course, cigarette in hand. Wilhemina sighed, as much as she hates to admit it she really did enjoy the company in comparison to her lonely nights at home in the silence.
"Okay," she says, Billie, raising an eyebrow at her expectantly.
"Okay? That was easy,"
"Don't think it'll be any easier than this, Ms. Howard, I'm a busy woman."
"Hm, I'm sure."
"If Ms. Winters is.. a woman of age now, What happened to the Tattlers?" Wilhemina asks out of curiosity, Billie purses her lips as she thinks of an answer.
"They're gone. They're at one with the silence."
"Good night, Ms. Howard." Wilhemina opens the door to her car.
"Good night, Ms. Venable," Billie says but Wilhemina can literally hear the smile that's on her lips as she says it. "Oh, Cordelia wants me to give you her cell," Billie hands the redhead her number through the crack of the window. "Then you don't have to be at one with the silence for so long. Neither of us do. We have each other now, just remember that. All thanks to Y/N."

Oh part 5
Tumblr media
Part 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7
After the events of that day wound down a little you made your escape. Much to Pepper’s chagrin. You finally answer her after receiving her 11th text and millionth missed call. In your pyjamas tucked underneath your covers you shoot her a quick apology blaming something frivolous for not being able to stay longer. Of course she forgives you immediately. Which makes you feel even worse for what you did. But you were finding it more and more hard to breathe after your encounter with Natasha.
And so when Pepper orders 2 dozen more cupcakes to be personally delivered to the Tower in a weeks time, claiming it to be for a big board meeting, you couldn’t but say yes to her.
Next week rolls around faster than you would have liked. As the deadline drew closer, your work partner becomes more and more frazzled at the idea of a repeat order from the Avengers.
“Do you think we could get a seal like the ones they put on English jams from the Queen?” she asks excitedly hovering over you as you put on the finishing touches.
“Are you insane?” you laugh shoving her slightly to create some distance between the both of you. “What would it even say, ‘Official Caterers to the Worlds’ Mightiest Heroes’?”
She quirks an eyebrow. “You’re right that’s way too long. We need an acronym.”
You sigh heavily as she continues wearing a hole in the flooring. “What about OSTLER?”
“What does that even mean?” you scrunch up your face trying to focus on your task.
“Official catererS The worLds’ mightiEst heRoes!” she exclaims as if it was obvious.
“I don’t think that would—“ you try before she cuts you off.
“ARTHRITIS? cAtereRs To tHe woRlds’ mIghTIest heroeS?” she spurts out almost tripping over her own words.
“No that won’t—“
“Ok then what about FLATTISH? ” oFficiaL cAterers To The mIghtieSt Heroes. Good right?!” she says her enthusiasm off the charts.
“You know what,” you say shaking your head as you carefully pack the cupcakes into its boxes, “how about you think of something and let me know when I get back.”
“Deal!” she squeals.
“Now please help me load up the truck or I’m going to be late!”
xxx
You stumble on the highly polished marble floors of the Avengers tower as you strain trying to balance 3 boxes of cupcakes and your sling bag dangerously close to falling off your right shoulder. “Hi,” you manage to huff the burly man sitting at the front desk, “I have a delivery of cupcakes from—“
“Ah Ms. Y/N? I was told to give you this and send you up immediately” he says slotting a keycard in between your fingers and walking you through the security body scanners. “Ms. Potts said you know your way around?” he adds as he waits for you to manoeuvre through the smallish space trying not to crush the boxes you held a little tighter to your body.
“Yes I do but—“ you try.
“Splendid well have a good day” he cuts you off again as he leaves you to wait by the elevator. You sigh as you take a breath to calm yourself. Emily hadn’t stopped chatting your ear off causing you to run 10 minutes late. You hated being late. In fact, being on time was considered late to you. Trying to peer at the watch on your wrist was pointless as you when you did try, you almost dropped the boxes you were carrying. You peered at yourself in the mirror reflection of the elevator doors and wondered if everything in this building was polished to perfection. Scrunching up your nose at your less than perfect appearance you try and blow some hair that had fallen onto your face away. And what’s worse, you started to feel an itch on the tip of your nose.
Oh for Christ’s sake.
You try and rub your nose against your shoulder but the movement causes you to almost drop your boxes. Then you tried to relieve the itch by rubbing it against the boxes but that seemed to make it worse.
DING.
Freaking finally you think to yourself. Shimmying in sideways you notice someone already inside the space. “Sorry,” you apologise watching your feet so you don’t trip over anything, “wide load” you chuckle nervously.
“It’s fine” the stranger says and your eyes widen momentarily before you slowly turn so you can face her.
“Oh!” you curse your luck. “Natasha.”
“Hi” she says softly giving you the smallest of smiles. You notice her backing up into the corner as her eyes move from yours to her feet. She doesn’t look up. She looks so small there with her arms wrapped around herself as if she was trying to disappear. All of the sudden you’re overcome with sadness. Why would she need to hide away. From you. Was she hiding from you?
You can’t help yourself. “Hey Nat” the words slip out before you can stop yourself.
She looks up hesitantly. “Yeah?” her voice is soft. Cautious.
“Umm…” your brain is moving as the speed of light trying to come up with something. “Sorry” you wiggle your nose, “my nose is…is itchy. Would you mind?” you groan internally at hearing yourself.
A small smile tugs at the corner of her lips as she takes a half step towards you. “Here?” she rubs her index finger on the tip of your nose.
You weren’t trying anything. Your nose was truly itchy and had it not been for Natasha you might’ve sneezed and dropped everything. “Mmm thanks” you say as the itch subsides. Natasha looks up at you and smiles. It’s then you notice her red swollen eyelids and the puffiness under them.
“Are you ok?” you say instinctively.
“I’ve…I’m ok” she says taking a step back and casting her eyes downwards again.
“Can you help me with these?” you add not giving her a choice as you bend your knees slightly to slide a box into her hands. You can tell she wasn’t expecting that as she looks at you briefly with surprise in her eyes.
“Sorry it’s just I’ve been holding onto these for close to 40 mins now and I can’t feel my hands anymore” you say trying to lighten the mood.
She gives you yet another timid smile. “It’s no worry” she says just before casting her eyes back down to the floor. Just before she does you watch as the overhead lights catch the puddles in her green eyes and the guilt that overcomes you feels like someone has just slapped you across the face with a hot iron. You turn your face forwards and pretend to not notice her wipe her eyes with the sleeve of her shirt.
DING.
The elevator doors open and you’re greeted by a very smiley Pepper Potts. “Y/N!” she beams, “oh Natasha I thought you were headed to that meeting downtown” she says stepping aside and walking the two of you to the conference room.
“I…uh…no, I mean it was postponed” she stutters a little.
“I’m so sorry,” you turn to face her after placing the boxes onto the conference table, “if I had known I wouldn’t have imposed on you.”
“No no” she says, “it wasn’t an imposition at all, Y/N” the way she says your name is laced with regret and hurt its almost tangible.
Pepper signs for someone to come and deal with the boxes as she fishes out a cheque which she expertly folds and slides into the breast pocket of your jacket.
“I should go” Natasha mumbles softly and immediately turns around walking out of the conference room leaving you to just stare at her go.
You turn back to Pepper and she’s smiling sympathetically at you. “Why do I feel like I just killed a puppy?” you say fishing the cheque out of your pocket. Your eyes grow large as saucepans, “Pep this is way too much” you exclaim.
She laughs at you as she wraps her arms around you. You hug back. “You feel like that because you still care about her” she says stroking your back. “And shush it’s not too much.”
“Pepper you overpaid me by 200%!” you pull away slightly holding her at arms length.
“Can you just…” she picks the cheque from your hands and refolds it placing it back into your pocket, “…accept the good things that come to you without making such a fuss.”
You pout and she pulls you back into another hug. This one tighter than the one before. And you hug back squeezing your eyes shut because you know exactly what she’s talking about.

Stardust Crusaders + Aftercare
ANON ASK: Stardust Crusaders (seperately) reacting to you using your safeword O///O
(A/N: Safewords are really important when practicing BDSM, so please if you guys are practising it, make sure it’s safe, sane and consensual as always hehe. Joot and Kak are 21+, I hope it’s okay I aged them up!)
Content Warning: Safeword use, mentions of BDSM, Waxplay, Spanking, Shibari
Jotaro Kujo
His chest heaved, as he reached to uncuff you, rubbing your tender wrists. He wordlessly undid your blindfold
“Blink a couple of times.” He said in an even tone, a hand running through your hair gently.
“I-I’m sorry” You said teary-eyed, looking up to your lover’s aquamarine gaze.
“Shh, don’t apologise (Y/n). You did so well, you were so good for me.” He hushed you, cradling your smaller form in his brawny arms. He moved you to sit on his lap, as if you were made of glass, with utmost gentleness.  “Do you want me to get you anything? Water? Tea?” He murmured into your hair
You gripped onto him feeling so exposed and vulnerable, shaking your head. You shuffled, feeling his erection still being pressed against the back of your leg. A soft, breathless giggle emitting from you “You don’t want me to deal with that?” Your eyes meet his causing him to turn away in embarrassment.
“Good grief, woman. Could you think about yourself right now?” He sighed, snuggling you closer, bringing a blanket to cover the both of you. “Did anything…urm…do you wanna talk about it”
“It was just a lot, love. I don’t know.” You rested your head against his chest, interlocking your fingers with his.  He didn’t say anything, instead he just listened to you.
“I’m here, (Y/n), just rest.” He leaned back, the sound of his heart lulling you into a peaceful sleep.
 Kakyoin Noriaki
His reaction was immediate, hands going to untie your contorted body. Hierophant green almost instantaneously emerged to help unravel the knots across your body. You were shaking, body still unexplainably sensitive. Kakyoin grabbed a blanket, covered your vulnerable shivering form.
“Sweetheart, open your eyes, take a few deep breaths.” He whispered, holding onto your hand. You did just that, your half lidded (e/c) orbs meeting his own concerned filled ones. You crawled towards him, resting your head on his laps, gripping onto his white dress shirt. His fingers threaded through your (h/c) locks, smiling as he could hear you humming in approval.
“I’m so proud of you, my beautiful (Y/n).” He leaned down to kiss your forehead, before grabbing a bottle of water from the bedside table. You sat up, your lover supporting you as you sipped the water. His hand gently rubs circles on your hips, kissing the crown of your head.
“Shall I run us a bath? I can put the nice herbal soak to help with the muscle pain?” You nodded vehemently at the idea. Kakyoin’s smile reached his eyes, rolling his sleeves up to prepare the bubble bath.
“Noriaki…” You whispered
“Yes, my love?” He looked over to you stretching out you arms and legs, a smile dancing on your features.
“I love you”
“I love you more” He grinned back
 Jean-Pierre Polnareff
His hand was raised to spank you for the twenty-fourth time when he heard you yelp out your safeword. He froze up a bit feeling unexplainably guilty that he had pushed you that far. He lifted the top half of your body to sit up, your faced scrunched up in pain and wincing at the pressure on your behind. Polnareff reached for the box he left by the bed, a box that contained massage oil, antiseptic and some aloe vera cream. “Ma cheri, lie on your side” He said in a hushed tone. You did as he said, his hands smoothing along your behind, the soreness slowly dying down.
“Je t’aime, (Y/n). You are my everything, I’m sorry if I hurt you.” You felt guilty hearing the remorse in his voice.
You let out a soft moan, feeling the relief and calmness washing over you. Your lover was watching you in worry, thinking he had pushed you over the edge. You went to caress his cheek feeling him calm under your touch. He leaned into your softer palm, kissing the back of your hand.
“Stop trying to be so suave, Jean,” You let out a chuckle seeing the Frenchman pout at you.
“Well sue me for worrying! I didn’t want you to get hurt that badly and h-“  He cut himself up feeling a little choked up, causing you to erupt into giggles
“It’s not funny (Y/n)!” He pushed his bottom lip out in his best puppy eyed expression. You pulled him down, lovingly pecking his cheek.
“I love you too, you dummy.”
  Abdul Mohammed
Your body jolted, trembling from the wax that was dripping onto your body. Being blindfolded was one thing, it was another thing to put this amount of trust into your lover to dribble scolding wax onto your chest. So, when you yelped out your safeword, Abdul instantaneously stopped his ministrations. His hands, previously inflicting molten wax onto your eager body, now gently caressing your cheeks and whispering praises in a honeyed voice. As the wax became stiffer on your body, he looked to you for approval to start cleaning you up. With a dazed nod in his direction, he began peeling the hardened wax from your trembling form.
“are you comfortable, Habibti?” He said in a hushed tone, running his fingers along your back. You nodded, snuggling into the muscular man’s chest. “I can run a cool bath for you.” Your grip on his shirt tightened, smoothing over his arms and gently touching his scarred cheek.  It truly was moments like this, despite the momentary feeling of being overwhelmed, his big heart shined through. You knew he would never want to hurt you intentionally, and that’s why there was this trust built between you.
“Hmm, stay for a bit, this is nice” You smiled into the crook of his neck, feeling him chuckle.
 “Of course, anything for you.”
 Joseph Joestar
“Come on, little lady, have some water, there are some cookies here too” His eyebrows were knotted with concern, a brawny arm still around your trembling form. You accepted, gulping down half the bottle and nibbling on a couple cookies, your eyes brightened up, meeting his cerulean ones. You set the bottle and plate on the side table, Joseph sitting back in the bed. You clambered to sit on top of him, a blush dusting his cheeks at the connotations
“Ohoho you already want more of me huh?” he chuckled, you whined at his teasing.
You were straddled on his thighs, he continued to pepper kisses all over your face, gently rocking you as you almost felt yourself being lulled into sleep. His stubble scuffed against your cheek, making you giggle. Joseph chuckled and continued to nuzzle into you, knowing it would make you laugh.
“How are you feeling, sweetheart?”
“I’m okay now.” You kissed his cheek
“You promise?” He looked at you with puppy eyes, holding you tighter
You laughed, no matter how old this man got, his maturity, or lack thereof, always seemed to shine through.
“I promise.”
