i find it hard to explain what kanan's death makes me feel, but:

it's just. imagine loving someone so much that you hold back death for them. imagine loving someone so much that you push them away in your final moments. imagine loving someone so much that a supernatural power recognises it and gives you back your sight so you can see your love one last time. imagine loving someone so much that your own death is inevitable and it is because of this inevitability that you can look upon your love once again, because the universe knows that there's no other choice you'd make and so it can grant you this final mercy.

One really interesting thing about sisyphus's character in ultrakill is how he was his own downfall in the end. Yeah his whole philosophy was to embrace futility and learn to love the struggle but like. He didn't have to fight v1. He did not have to pick a fight with the guy that killed minos and beat the shit out of gabriel twice and slaughtered their way through p-2. He could have just gone back to what he was doing before: waging war against heaven. And it could actually work this time, since heaven just lost all of its leadership to one of its own strongest warriors. But no. Instead, he chose to get railcoined and parried 1000 times and die. He turned down a chance at victory with no hesitation, because he was too eager to lose. But he did die happy, I guess

Do yall think about the fact that we have two kings in ISAT? we have King Sisyphus, whomst dropped the king part but keeps the hubris of thinking "this time, surely I can do it this time." And then King Midas, who dropped his name and kept the King, but still freezes all that he holds dear and regrets how it harmed that which he valued in the end.

Rambling on main time

Thinking a lot about theme that plays at the normal ending. The vocals are very similar to that ones that play in the Eigong bossfight theme. I think this is a big hint that Yi is slowly turning into his mentor. Im. Losing my mind.

I have yet to play all the way through Act 6, but I started thinking about the tragedy that is Loop and can't stop. More thoughts below, probably major ISAT spoilers.

Can you imagine waking up one day with no name, no language, no home, no family? Having to rebuilding all those basic things, piece by piece, just to be able to continue on. Eventually, you find yourself with something so dear you would trade the world for it. Then, slowly but surely, it's being taken from you. Your family, your memories. You struggle to keep it, but it isn't enough. You fail, again and again, one step forward met with two steps back.

Inevitably, you lose it all. You are left only with things that serve as a harsh reminder that once again, you can never go back. You can never have them back. You can never have you back, at least not in a way that matters. The universe trudges on, unwilling and unable to look back.

All this to say, the idea of Loop being able to rebuild themselves and their life means a lot to me. Twin souls, one leading the other back into the sun. Is this anything.
