youâd had your stuffed animal since you were little, to say youâd grown attached to it was an understatement. so when you started your relationship with the boys, you felt almost embarrassed to have them know of it.Â
sure, it was silly, but there was some tiny irrational fear that theyâd either make fun of you for it or end the relationship. you didnât exactly know why you felt this way, but you really didnât want to lose your boys.Â
James had a quidditch game this day in particular, watching from the stands with Remus and Sirius. your head on Siriusâ left shoulder, while he subtly held hands with Remus on his other side.Â
the three of you eagerly watched James play, cheering him on and meeting him outside the changing room after Gryffindor won. wrapping your arms around Jamesâ neck and pressing a kiss to his cheek, only for him to tilt his head to capture your lips with his. his hands grabbing at your hips as he tried to deepen the kiss, pulling away from him and pushing his face away, mumbling out softly while untangling yourself from his arms.Â
âJamie, stop it, not hereâ
the way you turned as you said ânot hereâ had his attention peaking, turning back towards Remus and Sirius while they both also congratulated James on the gryffindor win.Â
the rest of the team were heading out to the three broomsticks, readying yourself to ask if the boys wanted to go to before James was interrupting you.Â
âwant to celebrate my win another way, that okay princess? the boys âave already agreedâ
his front pressed against your back and his arms around your shoulders while Remus and Sirius stood on either side of you, taking both of your hands. Remus had his thumb soothing across your knuckles, and the cool feel of Siriusâ rings had a chill running down your spine. nodding in response to Jamesâ question, only for him to tilt your head back to him, his voice gruffer than expected, lust laced through his normal smooth tone.Â
âwords sweetheartâ
eyes flicking between the three of them before untangling from their holds, turning to face James properly. one of his hands cradling your face, and thumb soothing across your cheek, your response coming out whispered.Â
âyes, we can do that. my dorm?â
the ask of going back to your dorm was fine, normal even. you always went to your dorm when the four of you wanted to have fun, your friends never in anyways, so you always had the space to yourself.Â
on this occasion, however, you forgot that you left your stuffed animal atop of your bed. not really expecting to go back to your dorm with the boys, so the toy sat proudly on your bed.Â
eagerly leading the boys back to yours, pushing the door open as they trailed behind you. stopping in your tracks as your eyes locked on it, and Sirius walking straight into your back, hands instinctively landing on your hips as he questioned the sudden stop.Â
âsorry, uhm forgot to put something away when i left earlierâ
you had mumbled out quickly, untangling yourself from his hold and moving quickly to your bed to hide the stuffed animal. however, being stopped by James as he grabbed it from your hands.Â
a smirk plastered across his face as he settled on your bed, holding the toy in his right hand. crossing your arms over your chest as you watched the scene in front of you unfold, both Remus and Sirius moving to sit on the bed next to James. Â
Remus closer to you and reaching for your hands, pulling you to stand between his legs. hands grabbing at his shoulders to steady yourself, while his bigger ones soothed across your sides.Â
âignore James, heâs being a dick. talk to me and Sirius love, weâll listen properlyâ
his voice soft as he reassured you, nodding his head back towards Sirius and following the movement, meeting Siriusâ reassuring gaze while he took your stuffed animal from James.Â
Remus was always the softest of the three boys, sure he had his moments, lust blown over and consuming him but he was always your main go to when you wanted to cry and cuddle into him. Sirius was your middle ground, he was exactly fifty-fifty with you, letting you curl up in his lap and babble out about your feelings but he also held that sexual edge you craved. whereas James wasnât one for emotions, heâd kiss away your tears sure, tell you it would all be okay and pull you into him to ease away the pain; but his mind always managed to scatter elsewhere, not that you truly minded of course, he managed to know his place there.Â
âJames here, canât seem to understand the importance of keeping a stuffed animalâÂ
Sirius started, nudging James with his elbow while holding the toy to his chest. smiling softly at the sight while moving closer to Remus, his arms wrapped loosely around your waist.Â
fingers brushing through Remusâ hair, thinking through all the words in your mind and trying to form a coherent sentence.Â
âi wanted to hide my stuffed animal because i didnât know how yous would react, was worried youâd judge me and leave me because of itâ
the words came out rushed, a matching frown etching onto all three of their faces mixed with a look of confusion. Remusâ hands continued across your sides, before a sigh was pushing past your lips only to be shushed softly by Sirius as he moved to sit next to Remus.Â
âwhy would we judge you, or leave you because of it?âÂ
Sirius asked softly, lifting his right hand to soothe across your forearm while he continued to hold your stuffed animal in the other.Â
glancing back at James as Siriusâ words washed over you, smiling softly as James moved closer to sit next to Remus.Â
with their newfound softness, your earlier worries felt silly. you knew deep down your boys wouldnât care for some stuffed animal, hell you knew Remus still had his childhood one. Jamesâ voice, now soft and lacking any teasing, brought you out of your thoughts.Â
âbaby, weâd never judge you for it. nothing will take us away from you, promiseâ
glancing to your left and seeing Jamesâ pinky finger held up, chuckling softly at the sight before your eyes landing on the other two boys holding up their pinkies. interlocking your left pinky with James, and then your right with Remus first and then Sirius.Â
the sight of all three of your boys promising that nothing would take them away from you had your heart warming, feeling so loved and cherished when with them.Â
âiâm sorry for thinking yous would leave me because of it, just got in my head and assumed but i know youâd never leave meâ
humming as Remus pulled you down into a hug, and then both James and Sirius hugged you from either side. a chuckle pushing past Jamesâ lips as he took back your stuffed animal from Sirius, feeling him pull back as he spoke.Â
âjust means weâve got cuddle competition now, huh?â

There's not much Barty Crouch Jr content out there. If you don't mind writing about him, can I make a request? After escaping Azkaban, he serves his Lord to the best of his ability, but there is someone from his past that he still can't get out of his mind. A Slytherin and from a family of followers of the Dark Lord. They had a relationship during their youth. After many years, he finds her again. He always had a soft spot for her. But the reader (like Snape, a sort of spy) is secretly thinking against the Dark Lord and stays away from these things as much as possible, but she is definitely in danger. Things are complicated, but the strong attraction and longing between them cannot be ignored...

{. 1972 - Bartyâs Year 1 .}
Bartemius Crouch Junior couldn't have been older than eleven when he first met {Y/N} Walburga Black. A cool upperclassman, if only by a year.Â
Bartemius, at that ripe age, knew only a handful of things, and two of those was how badly he wanted to be seen and known. He wanted to be seen for who he was, and known for what he would do. That's likely what drew him to you.Â
At only twelve, you and your brother had made a name for yourselves, in much different ways. Your brother was popular, for his quick tongue and clever quips, his innate ability to get under anyone's skin and stay there. Those traits could be forgiven, and they always were, for his big heart and intense sense of moral.Â
You, however, were known for harboring a few very non Black traits, like your intense empathy and your crazed thirst for knowledge. Even as a Slytherin, your loyalty and curiosity rivaled the students around you tenfold. Your bravery knew no bounds, even with all the wrongs you had been done, you were forgiving and understanding. You were seen by everyone, you were known for everything.
As he got older, he wondered where that forgiveness went. You grew cold.
When he was innocent, when he had done no wrongs, you cradled him in your hands like he was a gift. You looked at him with eyes you shared with everyone, so much care and patience, so much understanding and kindness. So if those eyes were shared with the masses, he struggled, but was determined, to keep them focused on himself at any chance given.
It was obvious to anyone who saw the two interact. Barty wanted to be witnessed by you. The halls filled with the judgeful and teasing murmurs when he found you in the halls.
âThere goes {Y/N}âs prodigy.â
âBarty is off to find his guru.â
âThat boy will never learn.â
âHow annoying.â
Barty had never been ashamed of his declarations for praise. He knew most of the voices were bitter with jealousy. He would be jealous too. You were both so young, and yet even some older students looked to you like you were twice your age, yet every Friday when the tests were returned, you sat in the courtyard and waited for him. Your personal underclassman.
You would meet in the yard and he would brandish his flawless marks, you would praise his abilities in absolute pride. He had never had someone prideful of him before. Everyone knew him to be a motherâs boy, but he would challenge any of those claims. He was a {Y/N}âs boy, he'd tell them, no shame as students snickered and made their fun of him. He was never afraid of how much he liked you. How much he admired and respected you.
He would turn from the RavenClaw table and look to you after his announcements everytime, you would be eating with Lily Evans and the other girls of her group, but your eyes would be on him. You would give him a soft smile that drove him mad. He would return it with his own, the smile he would save for you. Just you.
When he was only eleven and you were twelve, everything was perfect for him. You focused your attention on studies, your friends, and of course, Barty. That's how it stayed for years.
He would reminisce in his cell, running his dulled nail along the jagged stone walls, carving intents of every minute that passed. Remembering all of the things he regretted most in his life. Losing your trust was where his spiral began. He was a foolish kid.
{. 1974 Bartyâs Year 3 .}
âIt's getting embarrassing.â
Barty was eating lunch with one of the many friends he had made during his years at Hogwarts, Evan Rosier. He was once again bringing the conversation back to you, as he had been for the past few days.
âYou trail after her like a loyal dog. Has she even given you a hint that she may return your feelings?âÂ
âWhat feelings?â
Evan and you did not get along. You never had. When he first found himself growing closer to him, you voiced your distaste for Evan the very next day. Barty always trusted your judgment, he obeyed you without much of a fight in most cases. This was not one of those cases.
He figured you to be biased, your brother thought him to be a Death Eater and you despised them. Something he could never understand, you were a pureblood, a Black, you were a powerful witch, and you would never have to worry about falling for a half blood or muggleborn, or Merlin forbid, a muggle. You were smarter than that. He always figured. You wouldn't taint your legacy.
Not like your useless brother, who he could see even now, describing his entanglements with witches and wizards of any kind, to the other Marauders.
As the years went on, you and Bartyâs meetings became scarcer and scarcer, they went from Fridays to every second Friday, finally, you now only met every last Friday of the month. Still, Barty clung to you with a desperation he never would give anyone else.
Recently, you had gotten into a fight. One where you expressed your worry for what could possibly happen to him if he got involved with the wrong crowd. Barty, admittedly, didn't respond in kind. He was furious with you. You questioned his company but pushed away from him, you questioned his morals and his standing on the war. He told you there was no war to him, there was no fight.
At the end of the day, he would be standing by you.
The answer seemed to distress you further. It turned into a match of shouts and desperate pleas of compliance. It caused a scene, people watched as you defended your standing on your side of the war, this fight you were having with yourself he assumed. There was no war. This was a power struggle.
Evanâs scoff snapped him out of his thoughts and he looked up from his plate to his eyes.Â
âBarty, half the school knows you've been in love with her since first year.â He hissed and Barty frowned. Would he call it love? He didn't think about it long before he had his answer. Love wasn't something he looked for, but he found it constantly. From the love he shared with Pandora, to the love he shared with Regulus, even the love he was nurturing with the brutish Evan.
No love in his body burned hotter then his love for you.Â
He never thought about it because he never had to. Why would he? He knew you loved him too. He knew what you two shared was never anything that could be challenged. He was your prodigy. He was your prodigy. He didn't care for much, as long as he was yours.Â
Evan snapped his fingers in his face and drew his attention back to him. He gave a slick smirk and wet his lips. âCome on, Barty, she's just a girl. You're wasting talent. Talent that could be used for someone who actually appreciates you.â
âShe does appreciate me.â Barty challenged immediately, before Evan smirked and gestured to the Gryffindor table. âDoes she?â
Barty turned just in time to see you, he never had to stare at a crowd too long to find you.Â
You were sitting with your brother and his friends, side by side with Remus, sitting far too close for comfort. He was whispering something in your ear, making you giggle. Turning to look at him with the truest smile he's ever seen you make. Flashing your beautifully uneven teeth, your cheeks dimpling and eyes seeming to sparkle. Your eyes met Lupinâs and he took in your expression like he could die in that moment.Â
Barty had never seen you smile like that before. He had never seen you look that way before. You had never looked at him like that before.
He hadn't even noticed as he began to bend the fork in his hand, fist tightening as he watched as Remus lean in and stole a kiss against your cheek. You gave a bigger laugh at this. Moving in to kiss his lips carefully.Â
The wonderful moment you were having was interrupted when a loud snap sounded threw the cafeteria. Your eyes snapped over to the RavenClaw table, as did a lot of your peers. Barty had snapped a fork in half with his thumb alone. Before a professor could scold him, he got up from his seat and stomped out of the grand hall, and your eyes followed them.
You muttered a quick apology to Remus and he nodded in understanding as you scrambled to your feet to follow after him.Â
He wished he could take every word he called you in that hall back now. He wished he had been smart enough to know that loving you with you in his life would of been far less torture then loving a girl who hated your guts.Â
âYou blood trader!â
âThis! This is what I meant, Bartemius! My Barty would never-â
âYou don't have a clue about me, you insolent heartbreaker! What of us, Black?â
âUs? What Us, Barty?â
That night he realized that no matter how genuine his love was for you, how deeply it ran, those times spent alone meant far more to him then it ever meant to you. You did stuff like that for everyone.Â
He wasn't entitled to your love. Running his nail down until it was blunted against the wall. Azkaban could no longer do more harm then it already had.
{. 1974 Bartyâs Year 4 .}
An entire school year. You and Barty didn't speak for an entire school year.
He kept his tabs on you, of course, because no matter what you said to him that day, you were still his person. Knowing how ignorant and how dangerously minded you could be, he took it upon himself to look over you. You may have been older, you may have sworn him, at one time, your loyalty and protection. But now, he had power of his own. He would repay you. He would repay and reeducate you, given the chance. With all the training him, Evan, Muliciber, Avery, even Snape had done? By Merlinâs beard he could do anything.
He had the mind to back that up, but he kept his power under wraps. You were always frightened by what you didn't understand, the last thing he wanted was for you to fear him. He wanted everyone to know him as fear, not you.
Never you.
When the school year started Barty noticed the shift instantly. He knew you like the back of his hand, far more than he let on most days, but it didn't take a genius to see that {Y/N} Black sitting with Regulus Black at the Slytherin table was odd.Â
He soon learned of what happened between Sirius and his family, a right disgrace. Then to learn Sirius scorned you from his life for choosing to stay with Regulus, that was probably what started Bartyâs absolute disdain for your brother. You had gone through training per Regulus. Saying before Sirius left he let it slip about you and Remus, trying to entice you to leave with him. You refused and your mother lost it. Walburga was a stain on this earth for what she had done. Even thenâŚ
It was all for the better, as he saw it. You don't need the impressions of Sirius Black, Lily Evans, Mary Macdonald, Remus Lupin, or any others that pour their venom into a perfect witch as yourself. He would make sure it stayed that way, even if it hurt you. However, he couldn't lie.
You always looked your best when you knew your worth.Â
It wasn't just your routine that changed, you became cold to your old friends, dropping the Muggle borns and staying weary of the half bloods. You started to associate mainly with more influential Purebloods.
That meant him.Â
He knew his father was good for something.
âCrouch? Would you like to accompany me to the library?â Your voice sang out to him, despite your listless monotone and drifting eyes. It was the first sentence you muttered to him in 13 months. Your voice was more reserved, your back straightened and your lips pouted. You didn't look like that 12 year old he knew, you were 16 now. Even in his depravity, he took notice of every lovely advancement you had taken in care of your appearance. Your mother instructed you with glamours and proper wear, even now wearing a black feathered choker and brandished a black quill. A family heirloom, Regulus would tell him.
Now, he hated your mother, there was no question about that. What she had done to Regulus was unforgivable, what she had done to you was cause for retaliation in his eyes. But Merlin, did she put you back on the path of greatness.
âCrouch? {Y/N}, my love, it will always be Barty to you.â He lit up like a child, voice sugary sweet. It was your turn to take notice of his change. He was still the same boy you met in first year. Endlessly obsessive, devoted, and excelling at all the things you liked about him. Unfortunately, also the things you hated.Â
But, he was still your Barty in your heart. The boy you loved, the boy you cherished, the boy who charmed your soul in ways you didn't know possible. If you had to pick anyone to fill the hollowed out ache in your chest, you chose dangerously, Barty Crouch Jr would be your reprieve.
He was just older now. He was becoming a man.
Everyone knows what they say, about a boy and a girl, coming into their own together. Barty figured this was your love story, you weren't one to argue any longer.
He didn't care that you only seemed to speak to him out of necessity. When he heard from Regulus that your mother was making you pick your friends based on their social standing, any males to soon be a suitor, he was ecstatic.
He was remarkable. He was seen. He was valuable enough to you to not be a mere pawn but maybe even a queen on your chest set. To be used by you? It was worth every moment of the ache. All of this because his father just so happened to keep his filthy hands to the purest bloodlines.
That was his value to you. His blood, his sweat, his labor, and his mind. They were yours, no questions asked. He clung to your heel with new found determination. He would keep you on the right track, the promised one. The one that would ensure your children had the same opportunities.Â
He knew he wanted this the moment he walked in on you and Severus arguing in the courtyard.
âYou dare call her a Mudblood, you incessant pompous Half Breed?!â Your voice echoed through the halls. People watched in horror, some in absolute shock, the sweet kind girl they had grown attached to was a right monster now. Barty, however, was loving it. You were a proper pureblood.
â{Y/N}-â Severus spoke carefully, something about his tone was far too familiar for Bartyâs liking, him addressing you by first name made his jaw tighten. He didn't have to say a word. You rectified it.
âDo not address me as anything other than Black, you dirty mutt!â You screeched. Severus looked stunned, the usually stoic boy looked broken. Barty watched as your eyes trailed over a shocked and watery eyed Lily Evans, he almost didn't catch you muttering, âYou lost that privilege.â
He, of course, came to your rescue, as he always promised. Hand around your back and escorted you away from the fight. As you both walked down the corridor your path was blocked.Â
Barty almost laughed, Remus Lupin. He was standing with Sirius Black, both staring threatening daggers at Barty. When you both kept walking, Barty shoved a path between the two boys, you hand a fistful of his cloak so as to not be left behind.
He didn't like how Remusâs eyes softened at the sight of you. He didn't like how Sirius reached for you. He walked faster, putting your sniffling form in front of himself.
After that, he knew he had you.Â
You were becoming who you were meant to be.
~~~
He took his mark that summer, standing alongside your brother Regulus Black, Lucius Malfoy, Beatrix Black and Evan Rosier. They were at your cousinâs manor, in the ballroom standing side by side. He was as straight as a board, brimming with pride, smirking to himself and brandishing his left arm.
He could feel your eyes on him, from where you stood, next to Narcissa, your aunt and your mother. Waiting for him.Â
Evan was first, standing beside Barty and holding out his wrist. When the wand hovered over his wrist and the Death Eater began to mutter the incantation, Evan let out a blood curdling sound. Pure brutish pain shot through him, leading him to fall back. Quickly held up by two other death eaters behind him.
When the wand brushed Bartyâs wrist next, he hardly flinched. Tilting his head back as sweat gathered around his temple and neck. He bit his lip and let himself feel every sharp intrusion the spell took, letting himself succumb to the blissful pain.
When he returned to you, not standing to wait for dismissal like the rest of them, he wrapped his arm around your waist and yanked you in. He stole your lips for his own, making you give a slight gasp. You don't fight it, so he pushed further, letting himself taste your bottom lip and pulling it punishingly between his teeth. Through his high he was able to recognize and memorize the feel of your lips and the taste, in his mind, it was the closest to the gods he'd ever get. What was true heaven, however, was when you took his cheeks in your hands and kissed him back.
âEnough.â He heard your mother hiss from beside you. She shooed Barty away like he was some stray dog. He backed down from where you stood, licking his lips and admiring just how shaken and red you looked. Your mother, the hag, pushed you behind herself and hid you away from his eyes.
When you looked away and covered your mouth, he almost didn't notice how you also licked your lips clean. That drove him mad.
He had come to the conclusion early on, you were a temptress. A vixen. A damned Siren as far as he knew.Â
Memories of that night, your first kiss, the moment he could see you falling for him. A proper man, worthy of the worship he planned to give you. Worthy of serving a goddess like you. It kept him up most nights, it was a high even the dementor's couldn't take away, but they did manage to warp his obsession from what he believed to have been holy, to the truth.
He was brought on this earth for you. Without you, he was nothing. He was rotting.
{. 1976 Bartyâs Year 6 .}
The next year he took your hand and promised you the world. To his delight, you responded in kind. You began dating his sixth year and it was absolute bliss.Â
It didn't last long, that bliss. It became a thrill.
Despite his power and loyalty to the dark lord, your mother favored another's for your hand. Particularly, Avery. His father came to your mother with the proposal, your mother liked his offer of the estate and your own power over the house.
You, however, much to Bartyâs delight, were way too far gone. In your now secret meetings, where you would take you strolls along the city street, to the shop or to the boutique. You made a show of it; but you only truly left for Crouch Manor.
Where Mr. and Mrs. Crouch turned their other cheek as you snuck your way to Bartyâs chambers. Behind those locked doors your love was dangerous. His whispers and promises of treachery against your family name were met with nothing less than desperate devotion and promises in kind. As your palms glided over his bare chest and his large hands found their way under your skirt.
His favorite memories were all locked away in that room. The room he made you his own, where his hands grew familiar with your skin in ways no one else ever could, where he found an affinity for you breathless, and where he heard you let out sounds no self respecting Black heiress should ever let out.Â
He claimed what was his birthright, between your legs. Bruised your lips numb and left marks you had to charm away when you made it back home. Just in time for supper.
With the feeling of him still fresh on your body. The pureblood heir your parents thought so lowly of. The heir they didn't see fit to sit at that very table, was still there. His lips were on the rim of the cup you sipped from, his hands were on the arm rests you relaxed against, and his teeth and claws were buried into their perfect daughter.
{. 1978 .}
By the time you both graduated, you took your place at the table. Having fought to hold off your engagement to Avery, Barty took it into his own hands to get between the two of you. Every time you glance in the boy's direction, he shrivels in on himself.
âBarty?â You whispered between his greedy kisses, in the halls of the Malfoy manor. The only times his hands could find your hips and his lips could find yours outside of his own room now. He was starting to see less and less of you. The war was in full swing and with his desperation for you was all that was driving him most days.Â
Thinking now, he wondered what drove you. Even now, having spent a year in Azkaban, you were still the light he flew to, no matter how much it hurt him. He could have sworn, at one time, it was him.
âDarling.â He whispered low against your lips. You tangled your fingers into his hair, before pulling him down. He rested his chin against the curve of your chest and looked up into your eyes.
You bit your lip, running your thumb along his own reddening ones. âDo you love me, Barty?â You cooed.
âI do.â He affirmed, licking the skin you touched along his Cupid's bow, âI do, more than anything.â His voice was raw and rough, he pulled at your hold, trying desperately to kiss you again.
âDo something for me, Barty.âÂ
âAnything, Darling. Anything.â He muttered, eyes still on your lips.
âBe within my reach. Always.â You whispered before releasing him. He took your lips once more, pushing you back against the wall like the very prospect of not touching you in some way was physically painful. His hand traveled up from your hand to rub over the mark you took just days earlier.
Every moment like that seemed fleeting.Â
The very next year, Regulus Black passed. He had gone MIA and your mother, despite her loyalty to Voldemort, commanded you home. It got worse when they officially announced his death.
You stayed locked in those walls, by order of your mother. He missed you dearly. Barty never wanted to be your hero, some great commander, he couldn't care less now about who else even knew his name anymore. He was older now, and he just wanted to be yours.Â
So, it pushed Barty to work even harder. Anything to appease The Dark Lord, get this war over with, so he could return to the only true person worthy of his reverence.Â
Without you, his life went by in simple clips of reality. When Voldemort fell, he was imprisoned in this hellhole, and even now, he found himself unable to let anything else consume his mind.
The dripping of water from the rusting metal doors drove him mad. No other sounds but the miserable screams of inmates and slamming of bodies against pavement. It was a torturous and hopeless place, some people preferred punishment by their own hands. There was suddenly a loud clanging of keys that cut his thoughts.
He looked up from the corner of his cell, putting his thumb in his mouth and sucking on the bleeding torn skin. The marks he had made on the cell walls marked his 354th day in this nightmare. His eyes locked with his father and his mother, furrowing his brow as he stood.
His mother two out two veils of a slug colored potion, his father had another potion in his hand.
Barty didn't stay in that cell to see his 355th.
{. 1994 POV Shift .}
âIt's a bit cold, don't you think?â
Remus Lupin's voice cut through the fog of your mind like a knife through butter. He was right, of course. Even as the year grew warmer with the summer months growing closer, the astronomy tower always gave a pleasant and persistent chill.Â
You were used to it, by now. Being the Astronomy Professor for almost twelve years. About the same amount of years you managed to avoid coming into contact with Remus himself.Â
You had to give him credit, Remus Lupin, he was persistent. Doing everything in his power to get you alone. As if one conversation would melt away years of what you had done, the people you deceived, the lives you took, the lies you told⌠all in the name of a crazed boy long lost to the history of the wizarding world. For the family who was as faded as the family tree you used to tend to with your brothers, painting names and burning faces.Â
As if speaking to you would somehow bridge a gap. A gap in his heart that still ached for you. It was never something he was able to understand, your persistent and endless love for Crouch had come out of nowhere for him. He couldn't look Sirius in the eye for a long time, learning he had outed your budding relationship.Â
He took every chance he could, to reach out, to speak to you, it was met with closed doors and a reminder of remaining professional.Â
âIt is. Heading out, Lupin?â You muttered to him. You couldn't lie and say having him here didn't make you feel, in some ways, nostalgic. To the loving, caring, respectful girl you once knew. One with so much patience and kindness you shared it with all kinds of souls. Souls you've watched drop like flies under the man you swore your life to.
âI am.â Remus muttered but didn't turn to leave. You shifted on your heel to look back at him from the entrance of the tower. He had his hand resting on the railing, his palm thudding against the railing as he tried to gather the courage to continue.
âI heard you gave Snape quite the earful.â He hummed, walking deeper into your classroom. You thinned your lips and shook your head, turning away from him. He gave a weak scoff.Â
âCould you at least look at me?â He pushed, his voice wavering. You closed your eyes and gave a deep sigh. Your hands moved to grab the railing.
âWhat is it, Lupin?âÂ
âIt's not too late.â He whispered and you closed your eyes. His words were exact, aimed to cut deep and retrieve from you the heart he knew was there; it just had grown cold. âYou could come back. With me, tonight, we can meet with Padfoot and-â
âAnd what, Lupin?â You spoke calmly as you turned to face him. He went rigid at your stare. âLive this wonderful life you have weaved out for us? Pretend that everything is okay and the last few years never happened?â You pushed and he closed his eyes.Â
Anger bubbled in his throat with something familiar, jealousy and bitter melancholy. If he could hear you any clearer you would be cotton in his ears. Your words were empty because he knew you could. Put Hogwarts behind you and come back to him, come with him and Sirius like you should have done back when you wore uniform and not cloaks like proper professors. Nothing was proper about you two aching hearts anyway.Â
Yet history repeated itself.
It always would.
âYou know he's gone.â Remus started slowly and your breath caught in your throat. You felt your eyes grow glossy with grief and you placed your left hand over your heart.Â
âI never thought I would be someone's second choice. To Bartemius Crouch Jr.â He continued. âI see I never measured up, did I?âÂ
â... I am sorry, Remus.â You whispered, your voice, for the first time in years, was vulnerable. It was careful.
Because of course you loved Remus. You loved him dearly, but no man would own you like Barty had. You were terrified to let yourself be loved with anything less than what he had shown you. Steadfast and faithful love. No one could challenge the status of Barty in your life.
Even in death his ghost reminds you of your place. Next to him.Â
Once this was over, once Dumbledore had seen and used his worth in you, when you were no longer under his wing like a servant, you would go back to 12 Grimmauld Place. You would retire. And you would wait for Barty to take you back home. Let it be a year, let it be ten, you would return to him as promised.
â... What have you become?â He whispered to you, and your eyes finally raised to meet him. You caught your tears and quickly cleaned your face. Shaking your head you put back on your practiced and perfect pout.
â.. A Black.â
Your exchange ended there.Â
Remus returned to your brother, you presumed. You forged ignorance when you were questioned by the Ministry of your brotherâs whereabouts. It didn't take much for them to let you be, especially with Mr. Crouch Seniorâs particular protectiveness of you. Probably a gift from Mrs. Crouch, oh, how you missed her.
When Barty was taken and your mother was far too weak to control you, you visited the Crouchsâ daily. You helped Winky with taking care of his parents, particularly his sick and fragile mother. You grew a weak repore with his father, though you despised him.Â
As a proper pureblood you just silently reaped the benefits of what the world had gifted you.
Including your wealth. With the house of Black fallen you were left to be the soul heir. Though, the moment you heard of Sirius Blackâs escape, you reopened your joint account. Soon, you heard someone was able to access it. It was true; your brother was alive and well.
That was the only olive branch you extended to him.Â
Once the school year was officially over you returned home. To your modest house down in an old town just a broom ride away from Hogwarts. Feldcroft.
You returned home, it was uneventful. Until you opened your door.Â
You were greeted by Winky, the Crouchâs house elf. That wouldn't be unusual, Barty had preached to her about how you were both intended. How she should attend to you, how she attended to him. So she would appear at your house from time to time, with gifts and food she had prepared for Crouch Senior that she made just too much of.
âWinky?â You called out to the figure in your hall. The sheepish girl turned to face you with a careful smile.
âMadam Black has returned! How happy Winky is to see you, mistress.â She declared and hurried up to you. Her path was cut short as Creature stepped in front of her, snapping away your bags. He seemed in a foul mood. Fowler then usual.
âYour mother would not approve of your company, Ms. Blaaaack.â He warned and you furrowed your brow. âNor would she approve of this home-â
âKreature.â You demanded and he huffed. Winky was always coming in and out, Creature never voiced displeasure with her company and your mother, well, she could care less. âWhat company?â
âThe noisy Crouch, Ma'am.â
Your heart dropped. He apparated away, assumingly to unpack your bags. Your eyes widened as Winky appeared in front of your full view. Showing off the black quill you had most definitely left at home. Your mothers old quill. You took it carefully from the house elf.
âWinky..â You spoke carefully and slowly. Holding up the quill between your fingers. âWho gave this to you?â
âI think you know, Darling.âÂ
Before Winky could answer, a voice lost to time spoke first. You knew it before you even turned around.Â
Still, you jerked your entire body to face him. Your eyes locked, full of longing and hope.
 And there he was. Your Barty.
He was holding a newspaper, licking his bottom lip but his eyes were on you. His eyes were just how you always remembered them. So full of danger and appreciation for your simple presence. He stepped towards you and you took a step back. He tsked at that, reaching out to grab your waist. âDarling..â He whispered.
You were still in shock. Staring up at his brown eyes and waiting. For anything. âBarty?â You whispered.
When he kissed you, alarm bells went off in your head. You didn't listen to any of them, grabbing him just as greedily as he held you. Both of your eyes closed and you held each other like you might perspire.Â
He was home.
He truly was.
Ok James but him and his slytherin girlfriend seem to come out of nowhere and the boys are supportive but are more mad at James for not telling them? Idk I loved your other fic SO MUCH
Thanks for requesting <3
part 1
cw: mention of injury, no details or anything though
James Potter x Slytherin!reader ⥠1.5k words
You hesitate outside the doorway to the infirmary at the raised voices coming from inside.Â
You donât need to be here, strictly speaking. James told you his injury wasnât bad, and he has his friends to help him if he needs it, butâŚyou canât settle yourself down. You hadnât liked the way heâd limped off the field, nor the tiny grimace on his face when Sirius had wrapped a bracing arm under his shoulders. It would be just like James to downplay how hurt he is to make you feel better, and the longer the game had gone on without him the more your guts twisted themselves into knots over the idea that he was in pain.Â
Youâd seethed at yourself and your stupid soft heart all the way to the infirmary, where now youâre frozen just outside like a coward. Something inside you is coiled tight with tension at the idea of going to see James Potter, on purpose and in public, even though thatâs dumb because now everyone at Hogwarts knows about the two of you anyway. Your sappy display on the quidditch pitch made sure of that. But now that you have official and widely-known claim to the girlfriend title, you have just as much right to see him as anyone else. You shove your anxiety back into your stomach where it belongs and open the door.Â
As soon as youâre inside, the voices become clearer. ââlike this isnât a big deal. The Prophetâs going to be all over the two of you by tomorrow, and we had to find out with every other fucking bloke at the school!â
âPads, you donât think I would have told you if I could?â James sounds exhausted, and something mutinous throbs in your heart. Itâs followed quickly by the more familiar twinge of irritation at the use of those moronic nicknames they all have. âShe made me promise not to tell anyone, including the both of you.âÂ
Theyâre talking about you. Of course theyâre talking about you. What else could possibly be more important after James has fallen a good twenty feet off his broom than his dating life? This is why you hadnât wanted to tell people. Hogwarts wears away at private lives like dementors at souls, and the rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin is too strong for your relationship with James to have any hope of remaining untainted once the gossip mill got ahold of it.Â
Your instincts are screaming at you to turn around and leave before they catch sight of you, but you force yourself to keep walking. If you start letting what people think about you and James affect you now, youâll never be able to get past it.Â
Remus is the first to spot you, going still as if youâve come to hex him, but Jamesâ face splits into a lopsided grin that has the knots in your gut loosening very slightly.Â
âEspecially you,â you say to Sirius as you brush past him, perching by James' pillow and weaving your fingers into his curls. Thereâs a wrap around his middle. Itâs very hard to appear calm and blasĂŠ when you feel like youâre going to rupture something if he doesn't promise you heâs okay right this instant. âYouâd have had all of Gryffindor talking about us within an hour.âÂ
Sirius bristles but visibly shoves his temper aside, his voice matching your coolness as he says, âIf Iâd told anyone, Y/L/N, it would have been to inquire about whether anyoneâs noticed you gathering ingredients for amortentia recently. James doesnât keep things from us. Artificial infatuation is the only explanation for why heâd tolerate you and your secrets.âÂ
âOi,â James says, but you pat his head placatingly. You can fight your own battles.Â
âThat how you got this one?â you jut your chin towards Remus, whoâs looking somewhat entertained as he watches the two of you spar. âIf Iâm ever in need of the recipe, Black, youâll be the first person I come to, but I donât need to resort to such measures myself.âÂ
Sirius glowers at you, and James sets his hand on your shoulder just as Remus wraps a pacifying arm around his boyfriend. âAlright, I think thatâs enough,â the taller boy says in his usual calm manner, and though Sirius is still tensed for a fight, he allows himself to be drawn into Remusâ side.
James nods in agreement. âIâm sorry I didnât tell you guys, really. I thought Iâd get a chance to before everyone found out, butâŚâ He turns up his palms helplessly. âThings didnât go as planned.âÂ
âWeâll get over it,â Remus says, Sirius quietly fuming beside him. âWonât we, love?â
Sirius looks up at Remus' face, which is clearly a mistake, because he softens like butter in the sun. âYeah, yeah, just gimme a bit,â he grumbles halfheartedly. âAnything to keep our Prongsie happy, right?â
James beams, so clearly relieved at the settlement of the conflict that you feel a bit guilty for participating in it. He kisses you on the cheek, chuckling against your skin. âYou stink.âÂ
âSome of us stuck around to play the whole game,â you reply.
âOuch,â James says, but heâs grinning. âCouldnât really help that, could I?â
You give him a look to let him know you havenât forgotten how his negligence had gotten him hurt. âDebatable.âÂ
You hear Remus chuckle but donât take your eyes off Jamesâ face, inspecting it for signs of the pain you suspect heâs hiding. âHow bad is it really?â you ask, softening your voice even though thereâs no chance of his friends not hearing you.Â
James worries his lip, big brown eyes looking into yours guiltily. âPomphrey says I broke three ribs and bruised my tailbone pretty badly. Minor concussion, too, but nothing serious.âÂ
Sounds serious enough to you. You ghost a hand over the back of his head as if youâll be able to find and fix his hurt. He leans into your palm though, so itâs not for nothing. âIâm sorry I walked away out there,â you all but whisper. âI should have stayed with you.âÂ
James eyebrows pinch together. âHey, sweetheart, itâs okay,â he promises just as softly. He knows what it costs you to talk like this in front of people, like youâre turning yourself inside out for them to judge and stab at as they please, but James has no such reservations. He dots a kiss, feather-light, at the top of your cheekbone, wrapping an arm around you protectively. âThanks for coming, I mean it.âÂ
You clear your throat. âYeah, and in my fucking quidditch gear,â you say in your normal voice, attempting to banish the heavy mood. As if your heart isnât still beating, hummingbird-fast and fragile, in your throat. âWe both need to change and shower, and then you should rest. Did Pomphrey say you could leave?â
James nods, still looking at you like youâve cracked open in his hands (he might be right; it feels like you have, and it wouldnât even be the first time today). He rubs your upper arm affectionately, but his voice is easygoing when he says, âYup, Iâm good to go.âÂ
Sirius steps forward, as though to remind the two of you that he is, in fact, also present. âGreat. Weâll walk you back to the room.âÂ
You turn to him, not quite ready for your time with James to be up and aching for the opportunity to dote on him in private. âThatâs okay, I can take him.âÂ
Siriusâ eyes narrow. âYou canât even get into our dorms.âÂ
âPlease, like Gryffindorâs riddles are so perplexing.âÂ
âI donât need an escort,â James interjects. He pushes himself up with a grimace.Â
You halt him with your hands on his shoulders and Remus says, âDonât be stupid, Prongs, you can barely walk.âÂ
âIâve got him,â you say firmly. Sirius stares you down, but you donât flinch from his stony gaze. You know he doesnât trust you. You donât think heâd willingly trust any Slytherin. Since youâve been at Hogwarts, the talk in your house has always been that Sirius Black shuns his family because theyâre all Slytherins. Although James assures you thereâs more to the story than that, itâs still obvious to anyone that he considers his friends his true family. He wonât entrust just anyone with Jamesâ safety. But maybe thatâs one thing you can agree upon.Â
He must see something of this in your face, because after a minute Sirius relents, rolling his eyes. âFine,â he says. âI wanted to stop by the kitchens anyway.â
James is looking between the two of you curiously, aware that something has transpired but not quite sure what.Â
You donât give Sirius a chance to change his mind. âAlright,â you say, gripping James' forearms and helping him to stand. âLetâs go, pretty boy.âÂ
James drapes his arm across your shoulders gamely, and the two of you start out the door. âI donât think thatâs the insult you think it is.â
Watching Sirius with someone else finally broke Y/n completely.
The cup fell from her grasp as a sob made its way out. Tears cascaded down her cheeks and she felt the room close in on her.
She took in a ragged breath and one thought crossed her mind: To get out of here.
She hastily made her way to the exit, pushing through people and not caring when they gave her an annoyed glare. She needed to get away.
What she didnât realize was that Remus had seen her rush out and his heart clenched, however his eyes returned to his other best friend at the sudden sound.
Sirius shoved the girl, who Remus recognized was in Ravenclaw, away and glared at her menacingly.
âWhat do you think youâre doing?â
The girl looked mildly confused before she grinned, a tipsy smile on her lips. âOh Black, donât act so good now. We both know what you want.â
Sirius growled, âActually, you donât know what I want.â He inhaled sharply. âIn fact, I think I really have been wasting my time this whole time.â Sirius looked around the common room, trying to catch sight of the one who ruled his heart.
Remus placed a hand on Siriusâ shoulder making the boy look at him.
âShe just left, Pads. She needed a break from everything.â
Sirius realized what Remusâ underlying message was in the last word and he clenched his eyes shut, hating himself because if Remus was indeed correct about y/n reciprocating Siriusâ feelings, he had hurt her one too many times and he was the one to blame.
Sirius nodded and made his way out hurriedly, ignoring the protests of the Ravenclaw who was trying to cling forcibly onto him again. He knew where y/n would be, she always went there when she was upset and Sirius began to run like he had never before in his life.
After what felt like painfully long minutes, he began to ascend up the stairs to the Astronomy tower and as he neared the top, heart wrenching sobs made their way into his ears, tormenting him. When he finally reached the top, the sight in front of him broke Sirius' heart.
Y/n had her knees brought into her chest, having buried her face as she cried, hating herself for having fallen for someone who she thought would never love her back.
Sirius silently walked over and took a seat beside y/n, who still hadn't noticed the new arrival. He gently placed a hand on her shoulder and y/n stilled, slowly raising her head as she wiped the tears away. Sirius felt his eyes gloss over.
"Sirius, what are you doing here?"
Sirius tentatively reached out and placed a hand on her cheek, making y/n's breath hitch.
"Love, I'm so sorry."
"What for?"
"For putting you through this."
Y/n tensed up, wondering if he knew.
Sirius sighed and stroked her cheek with his thumb.
"I am so sorry, Y/n. I should have said this earlier darling and I hate myself for putting you through this." Sirius let a tiny smile flicker on his lips. "I love you, y/n."
Y/n was stunned.
"You what?"
"I love you." Sirius repeated as he awaited a reaction from the girl. Y/n stared at him in shock and disbelief. Her heart did a flip and smile made its way onto her lips, making Sirius feel relieved. However, the next second the smile vanished and y/n moved away from Sirius' touch, breaking his heart at the action.
"No. You're lying-"
"I'm not, sweetheart." Sirius interrupted, trying to make y/n understand but she slowly stood making Sirius copy her action. She shook her head, her eyes tearing up.
"No, you don't. You don't love me. This isn't fair." She told him, tears welling up in her eyes again, "You can't play with my feelings-"
"I would never ever play with you, y/n," Sirius said, his voice becoming desperate, as he didn't know how to make y/n understand that his love for her is real and not a lie.
Y/n let out a whimper, turning away as she buried her face in her hands.
"Love, please," Sirius said, desperation evident in his voice, "Please believe me." He watched y/n raise her head, turning back to face him.
"I really want to believe you, Siri," She told him, "But I'm too scared for it to be false, for my heart to be broken. I know if I give myself to you, only for you to leave me later, I won't be able to take it." She told him, tears racing down her face.
Sirius sighed sadly, taking a step closer, carefully placing his hand on her cheek, in case she moved away. However, Sirius slightly relaxed when y/n didn't, who was looking at him with red rimmed eyes.
"Dove, give me a chance to prove my love for you, and after that, whatever your decision is, I'll accept without any protest." Sirius expressed earnestly, to which she found herself melting and nodded, placing her hand above his and removing it from her face, to take it in between her own.
"Fine. I'll give you a chance. If I find that what you mean is true, I'll give us a chance." Y/n told him softly.
Sirius' face broke into the largest smile. It wasn't a complete yes, but it was a start.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" He said, picking y/n up and spinning her. When he set the girl down, he said, "I promise you my love, I will only love and love you from this day on."
Y/n smiled up at him before gently extracting herself from his arms.
"You still need to prove yourself, handsome." She told him, to which Sirius grinned.
"I'm not leaving your side at all, dovie, I'll prove myself to you in no time."
Y/n just gave the boy a small smile before turning back, going to lean against the railing, "Go back to your party, Sirius." She told him, gazing up at the sky, feeling a lot lighter now.
Sirius looked at her back before grinning, joining the girl by her side, making her look at him with a quizzical expression.
"I'd rather stay here with you, love." He said, winking down at y/n who felt herself smile and the two turned their gaze onto the beautiful starry night, their hearts easing from the pain their separation had caused, but instead the two hearts beginning to thread together into one.
Their broken hearts turning into healing hearts.
Words: 1K+
Warnings: Secret couple, Remus not liking women, Jilly, sweet, cute and Sirius in love with his wife.
MASTERLIST
I want to share my dreams
Want to share with you
On the wings of love
Like dreamers do.
Y/n and Sirius were so in love it made their hearts hurt.
The feelings were shared on a cold autumn afternoon, in the 5th year of Hogwarts. What developed into love and dating.
However, no one knew that one belonged to the other. Even though they had been 'best friends' for years, outgoing, and lively. They were still afraid to tell the public about their relationship.
It wasn't a problem with the rogues or the girls Lily, Marlene, Dorcas and Mary either. Black and Y/n knew they would react well, but now, after so long, neither of them knew anyone else's reaction anymore.
Since they had been going out in secret for a year and a half.
"It would be cool if we all married into the group. Then I wouldn't have to add anyone else to the group. I don't like outsiders" James says, while sitting on the couch near the fireplace with an arm around Lily's shoulder - your girlfriend.
It was just them in the common room at that time. Lily, James, Sirius, Y/n, Marlene, Dorcas, Mary, Remus and Peter. Everyone making small talk, after a whole week of studying and working at Hogwarts.
Y/n, who was sitting on the other sofa, with her back resting on Remus and her legs on Sirius' lap, laughed at her friend's comment.
"What happened, it's true. We could join now" he said indirectly. "You could have Remus or Sirius, look, it's between the two."
Sirius quickly looks up from Y/n's feet to his best friend, Y/n surreptitiously looks at Sirius and Remus doesn't care, he just laughs.
He knew James wasn't cool with ideas sometimes.
"Or I can have both of them" Y/n jokes, making everyone in the circle laugh.
"Thanks for the offer, but we like the same thing" Remus says, patting Y/n on the head, which makes them laugh again.
"Good, all mine then" Sirius says and pulls Y/n's legs, making her fall from Remus' lap onto the sofa, making her startle and laugh.
They roll their eyes smiling too.
It was common for Sirius and Y/n to flirt with each other, so no one suspected anything about what they had in secret.
Dawn had fallen, and everyone had gone up to their dormitories. Except for Y/n and Sirius, who volunteered to organize things in the common room, which they and their friends had messed up.
So, after noticing that everyone had gone upstairs, Sirius approaches Y/n from behind, putting his arms around the girl's waist and resting her chin on her shoulder.
âI thought they would never come up againâ he whispers in her ear, making Y/n have goosebumps.
She smiles as she throws the pillow on the couch and turns to Sirius.
âI was about to send them all awayâ she laughs. "In truth"
Sirius smiles and then pulls her into a sweet, passionate kiss.
"Do you want to stop by the kitchen? Steal some goodies from tomorrow's breakfast" Black waggles his eyebrows up and down repeatedly.
Y/n's eyes widen in joy.
"Clear!!" She says in a second and then Sirius pulls her hand gently, leaving the common room.
Oh, we are daytime friends
And nighttime fools.
"Lily, can you reach those scissors please?" Y/n says, while doing herbology work with her best friend, in the Gryffindor common room.
Lily hands it over and smiles friendly.
They were relaxed in their conversation, they didn't even see the boys passing through the communal door.
"Hey, girls," James says friendly, and then comes around the table to kiss Lily.
Sirius wanted to do the same to Y/n, but he knew he couldn't in the public eye.
"Hi, prongs" Y/n smiles at her friend and then looks back to see the rest of the group. "Hey, Moony, Pete, Pads"
Moony and Peter greet her and Lily, and sit around the table to show off what they bought in Hogsmeade.
"Hi, doll" Sirius whispers to Y/n and discreetly kisses her cheek.
Luckily, no one had seen it.
"Why didn't they tell me they were going to Hogsmeade? I was wanting to go, I had seen a beautiful boot in a store window the other day and I wanted to buy it" Y/n says, while cutting out the last piece of paper to paste at work.
"We went after training, we couldn't tell you. But we can go tomorrow, if you want" Remus says softly and Y/n shakes her head smiling.
"Okay"
"I'm going up, put my things away. I'll be back soon" Sirius gets up and walks quickly to the dormitory stairs and everyone nods their heads and starts talking again.
That same afternoon, Y/n arrived at the dorm and saw that there was a large box on the bed, with a mysterious note, which was not for her, as she recognized the handwriting and the written words.
Marlene and Lily, who shared the same dorm with the girl, went crazy with the gift that their friend had received from her mysterious crush.
When night fell, Y/n put on the boots she had been given and went to the astronomy tower.
"It was you, right?" Y/n says, when she meets Sirius in the tower and refers to the boots on her feet.
Sirius smiles and approaches his girlfriend, placing his hands on her hips.
"What do you think?"
"Thank you, life." Y/n kisses Sirius in thanks. "These were exactly the ones I was looking at in the window"
"I know" he says, still smiling. "I observe my girl and her desires" Black pulls her in for another kiss. "By the way, I bought myself a pair. We can hang out as a secret cheesy couple."
When looking at her boyfriend's feet, she sees that Sirius had exactly the same boots as her. What differed was that the number was bigger and his pair was black, hers white.
Y/n smiles and then looks at Sirius again. Pulling in for a loving hug.
Marlene McKinnon x Reader
Summary : Youâve been infuriated with Marlene for some time now and Professor Mcgonagall just happened to pair the both of you up.
Warnings : none!
WC: 1.7k
a/n : this story is based on a dream i had about someone.. hope yall like it!!
âgod,â Y/N thought as she stared admired marlene. oh marlene even her name sounds pretty with her lion-like golden blonde hair, freckled olive skin, ocean blue eyes and her pretty smile that could brighten up any room she goes to.
Just then, Marlene narrows her eyes into a crescent shape smiling ear to ear at what her friend had just said âso beautifulâ Y/N mused with her chin on her hands looking like an awe-struck kid who had just seen princesses for the first time ever.
âWho's so beautiful?â Her friendâs voice snapped her out of her daydream face turning red when she realized that she had accidentally said it out loud.
she looked around then frantically searching for something, anything, when her eyes caught another pair âYou, Reg! youâre so beautiful! Have I ever told you that?â Exclaimed Y/N quickly hoping her friend would believe her or at least not noticing her errâ appreciation.
âNo. youâre fucking with me, you were looking over there,â the slytherin boy pointed to where marlene and her friends are sitting, with the marauders coincidentally sitting close by.
Regulusâ eyes widened âNO!â He let out a loud gasp âDon't tell me you were staring at my brother?!â He pulled on her collar forcing her to face him cupping her mouthful cheeks causing her to choke on her food. She slapped him away bringing her hand up and started pounding her chest, coughing brutally, Regulus hands her a drink to keep the food down.
âi was not staring at him!â She cried out after chugging whatever liquid regulus had gave her, still breathless after her coughing fit looking at him dead in the eyes âI was just- simply admiring as some would sayâ âit's not like she was lying, she was not staring at him she was staring at marlene, wait, no, scratch that, she was admiring marlene.â
Regulus eyes her still clearly not believing in any of her bullshit she smacks the back of his head causing him to let out a yelp before brushing her away letting the conversation go.
âOi L/N!â Someone whistled, rolling her eyes as she made her way to her seat, setting her bag down as the voice continued.
âA little birdie told me you were checking me out..â He trails off âis that true? yâknow there's no need to be ashamedâ His friends giggling like little girls at his statement.
She clicked her tongue letting out a sigh, the one time she went to class early and she had to deal with this?
She turned around to the origin of the voice looking at him up and down âoh i was totally checking you out!â She clapped her hands together, looking up at him through her lashes with a sickeningly sweet smile on her lips batting her eyes seductively bringing her right hand up to twirl her hair.
âIs that what you wanted me to say, Black?â She watched as his face changed, a scoff falling off his lips. Little did she know there was another pair of eyes watching their interaction with an amusing smirk drawn on her face.
As Sirius' expression fell, a sharp snicker cut through the air, drawing attention to a figure in the distance. Marlene was leaning against the wall, her eyes gleaming with a mischievous twinkle. Her body seemed to be gently shaking, struggling to contain her laughter.
Marlene pushed herself off the wall, gracefully making her way towards them. "Well, well, it seems like my dear friend here just couldn't resist your effortless charm, Sirius,"
She teased, her voice dripping with sarcasm. The corners of her lips curled upward, her lips on the verge of breaking out into a full-blown grin.
âGood job Y/N, you really put him in his place, we really ought to be friendsâ Marlene's arm wrapped tightly around Y/N's shoulder, drawing her into a warm side hug.
The proximity caused a flutter in Y/N's chest, her heart racing with anticipation, not only from being so close to the charismatic blonde but also from the realization that she had made an impressive dent in Sirius' ego.
âThanks!â Y/N grinned, her cheeks tinged pink from Marlene's praise.
The other girl's infectious enthusiasm and genuine affection were intoxicating, and Y/N found herself leaning into the embrace. It was refreshing to be around someone who encouraged her to push the limits, someone who didn't hesitate to knock an ego like Sirius' down a peg.
Pushing her feelings aside, Y/N couldn't help but return a smirk, her gaze flickering between Sirius and Marlene. "Oh, I'm sure we'd make a terrific duo," she chuckled, a playful lilt to her voice.
Sirius rolled his eyes, his annoyance evident, but there was a hint of amusement in his expression. "You two are unbearable," he muttered.
âAw, Sirius, you're just jealous that we have each other's charming company,â Marlene retorted, sending a playful wink towards Y/N as she tightened her hold on her shoulder. The smirk on her lips seemed to grow wider, her eyes gleaming with delight.
Y/N stifled a giggle, finding immense pleasure in the exchange. She glanced over at Sirius, meeting his gaze with a raised eyebrow. âYou're just upset that I wasn't as easily impressed by your arrogant banter.â
Sirius let out a scoff, his features contorted into an exaggerated pout. âArrogant banter? I prefer to call it eloquent wit.â
Y/N rolled her eyes, the action more affectionate than dismissive. âOf course you do,â she retorted, her tone dry with feigned annoyance.
âWell, Marlene and I have more interesting things to discuss than your inflated ego,â she remarked, subtly shifting away from Sirius and closer to Marlene.
Marlene snickered at Y/Nâs remark, clearly enjoying the banter shared between them and Sirius. âThatâs right,â she agreed, her voice dripping with mock seriousness. âWeâve got far more riveting topics to discuss.â
Y/N smirked, her eyes twinkling with mischief. âOh, yes. Like the latest fashion trends, relationship gossip, and, of course, our shared disdain for pompous boys with oversized egos.â
âSettle down everyone!â Professor McGonagall entered the room, her stern expression silencing the rowdy students immediately. She announced a new paired assignment, much to everyone's dismay.
âI've taken the liberty of sorting you into partners,â she declared, her gaze sweeping across the classroom.
Y/N groaned silently, dreading the moment her partner would be revealed. To her surprise, she heard Marlene's name being announced alongside her own.
She glanced over at Marlene, who seemed equally shocked by their pairing. A mixture of excitement and trepidation coursed through her veins. This unexpected collaboration could either turn out brilliantly or end in disaster.
Sirius watched as their names were called, a mixture of annoyance and amusement playing across his features. He leaned back in his chair, his eyes flickering between the two girls.
'Oh, this is going to be interesting,' he mused silently.
McGonagall continued listing out names, the students murmuring amongst themselves, clearly not thrilled with the assignments. Once all the pairs had been announced, the class was dismissed, and Y/N found herself walking alongside Marlene towards the library to begin their project.
âWell, this ought to be intriguing,â Marlene remarked, her voice betraying her excitement yet tinted with a hint of wariness. âWorking closely with my new favorite person.â
Y/N chuckled, her cheeks tinged pink at the compliment. "Oh, I'm your favorite person now, am I? I feel honored."
As they entered the library, they snagged a secluded table near the back, away from the hustle and bustle of the main study area. Y/N pulled out her notes and textbook, preparing to dive into the assignment.
Marlene took a seat beside her, a smirk tugging at her lips. "I have no doubt we'll make a power duo on this project."
Y/N returned the smirk, her confidence growing with every passing moment in Marlene's company. "Oh, there's no doubt about it. We're going to ace this project and show them all what we're made of."
She glanced at the assignment's title, her mind already racing with ideas. "Alright, what do you say we start brainstorming?"
Marlene nodded eagerly, pushing up the sleeves of her jumper. "Absolutely. Let's do it."
They spent the next hour bouncing ideas off one another, their chemistry evident as they built upon each other's suggestions. They laughed, they argued playfully, and they found themselves getting lost in the conversation.
"This is actually going well," Y/N remarked, a genuine smile on her face. "I guess we do make a good team, after all."
As Marlene glanced up from her notes, a question danced on the tip of her tongue. Their project was progressing smoothly, but her thoughts suddenly shifted, seizing a brief moment of respite.
"Hey, Y/N," Marlene started, a subtle curve of her lips hinting at a playful undertone. Her eyes fixated on Y/N's focused expression, a soft chuckle escaping her lips. "Do you know what the date is?"
Y/N paused, her gaze lifting from the parchment to meet Marlene's eyes. She chuckled, her cheeks slightly flushed with mild embarrassment. "Hmm? Oh, sorry, I was out of it for a bitâ she admitted, her gaze flicking back to her notes for a brief second before meeting Marlene's once again. "Can you repeat that, please?"
Marlene smirked teasingly, a sparkle of amusement dancing in her eyes. "the date?," she repeated slowly, emphasizing the words playfully.
Y/N's eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion, her brain struggling to comprehend the meaning behind the question. As the realization slowly dawned on her, a cheeky smile spread across her lips.
"with you?" she responded flirtatiously, her voice dripping with lighthearted tease. "Anytime."
Marlene's smirk widened at Y/N's quick response. She leaned back in her chair, resting her chin on her palm as she studied Y/N's expression.
"Alright then," Marlene replied, her voice betraying a hint of intrigue. "How about tomorrow at 8?"
Y/N's eyes widened at Marlene's unexpected question. She stared at the other girl in disbelief for a moment, mentally processing the question to ensure she had heard it correctly.
"WHAT?" she blurted out, her voice betraying a hint of surprise.
bet you wanna
pairing: james potter x reader
content: another dream i had, smut 18+ mdni
a/n: hope you like thiss<33
james could not,would not stop gazing at you. He was enchanted by you completely and totally how could he not be.
you were all he could see, and he was not complaining. " i love her, i know it i love her" he announced to the world in a sense of realization.
"you know just about her name and the fact that she is in your potions class" sirius tried to argue but he knew his best mate was a gone case.
"mate, you've been staring at her every day from the same hallway when she comes out of class" remus tried to fill some sense in him but it was no use.
james knew you could see him, everyday you saw you pass him just the slight glance but he noticed, of course he did.
it was the next day, james was in his usual position waiting for you and just as the bell rung he pulled himself up to stand up straight ready for your glance but you had other plans.
you came out of class and headed straight in his direction, a smirk on your lips. james couldn't help but panic, he surely didn't expect this.
reaching him your hand immediately went to his collar, pulling him down still not fully kissing him, "bet you wanna touch me now, potter?" and he answered with a kiss.
a kiss so passionate it shocked james he could kiss like this, it had both of you breathless still neither of you broke it.
finally detaching from your face, he pulled you to nearest empty classroom he could find, pushing you against the door.
"sure you want this, baby?" he asked you with a hint of wonder in his eyes.
"fuck me, potter" was your only reply and he was quick to obey.
pulling you towards a desk bending you against it, he ripped off your shirt along with the rest of your uniform.
pulling down his pants he slammed into you without any patience, "you don't know how long I've been waiting for this".
you smirked at this, "I knew, I'm not oblivious".
he was fully fucking you now, a hand coming on your ass and you moaned his name loudly at the action.
"you like that, huh baby?" he asked while repeating his action, his other hand coming up to press you face more down on the desk.
you were both close and so his thrusts turned faster, impatient to reach his release and so you did moaning his name and shaking around him.
"I hope you're not done" you said, "if you even thought I could be done after that, it just means I've got to fuck you more".
poly!marauders x fem!reader who loves quidditch and is a bit nervous for her first match
Iâm not super in love with this one, but here! Maybe a part 2? I love quidditch player! reader fics and feel like I should do more to do her justice.
â
The boys always knew you liked quidditch; it was quite obvious. You were always sitting in the stands during the matches, pressed against Remus for warmth as you watched Sirius and James play.
Sirius was built to be a beater. He had surprisingly good balance on a broom, and could quickly rotate himself. He was good at seeing the whole picture. He would keep track of his teammates, of who was being targeted with Bludgers.
James was a chaser, through and through. He was lean and muscular, and could weave in and out of obstacles more quickly than anyone else in all of Gryffindor house (and in your opinion, anyone in the whole school).
In first year, during Madame Hoochâs lessons, through, the boys took quick notice to your natural ability when it came to flying. You were the first to pick up each skill, and moved with your broom like the two of you were one.
However, when it came to tryouts, the boys couldnât find you.
Itâs what initially drove them to you. Second year, when tryouts were beginning, the boys were practically begging for you to join (well, James and Sirius begged, Remus apologized). You had brushed them off that year.
In third year, you reluctantly went to a few open pitch nights. No tryouts. Same with fourth year.
It wasnât until the week before tryouts in your fifth year that you told the boys why.
In the summers, you compete in small club leagues for quidditch, just to keep up with it. You enjoy it; being on the pitch in the summer with your family. But when you got sorted to Gryffindor, there was one problem.
There's only one seeker.
Itâs not like the boy was bad-in fact, he was the best seeker the house had seen in years. He was only a few years older than you, and so you justâŚwaited. Waited for him to graduate, to be done with the team so you could try out for the open spot.
Fifth year, the position of seeker was finally open. When you arrived on the pitch for tryouts, you fought to keep yourself from cackling at the shock on your boyfriendsâ faces (James and Sirius were even shocked to find out that Remus knew you were going to be there).
You were amazing. You had always been observant - you had always seen the little details, always been fast on a broom.
You had gotten the spot and practiced with the team for weeks, but now, you were only a few hours from your match.
Fuck.
~~
Remus leaned against the pillow to your right, eyes skimming over the transfiguration textbook. He had some muggle music softly playing from his record player, but you could barely hear it through your focus. You were leaned over yourself, back hunched as you carefully oiled your fingerless gloves.
Sirius and James burst into the common room with all the grace of an elephant in a mudslide. The latter sent the two of you a goofy smile, stumbling over the doorframe (and righted by Sirius) as he held out two warm cups to you and Remus.
âSpoiling us, hm?â Remus sets a bookmark in the textbook, setting it on the side table as he leaned forward. He grabbed both cups, taking a sip of his and holding yours upright until you were done with the gloves.
ââCourse.â Sirius closes the door behind him, sitting on the cushioned bench at the end of the bed. He set his face in his hands, his elbows against the mattress as he stares at you and Remus lovingly.
Your eyes flicker over to him, sending him a grateful smile before you look at Sirius and James. âThank you.â You screw the cap on the bottle, setting it and your gloves on a cloth, and then the cloth on the table.
James turns as you grab the cup, walking around the bed to press a kiss to the top of your head. You feel the warmth of the cup seep into your body as you smile. James gives your shoulder a gentle squeeze before grabbing the oil and the gloves from the table, walking toward the bathroom.
You take a sip of your tea, turning to the boy with a confused hum as Sirius places a hand on your leg through the comforter.
James walks out of the bathroom, giving you another kiss on your forehead. âJust donât want the oil getting on the wood, Love.â
âOh.â You send him a quick smile, moving to the center of the bed in hopes to redirect the boys from your obvious nervousness.
James follows, moving to fill the new space before Sirius launches himself up from the bottom of the mattress, wedging between the two of you. Remusâs fingers cover yours around your cup, letting out a half-disapproving half-fond sound as he shoots Sirius with a look. âYou almost made her spill.â
Sirius frowns, chin on your ribs as he frowns up at you. âSorry.â
Your free hand gently follows a curl in his hair, âitâs alright.â
James presses himself closely to you, sandwiching Sirius between you as he wraps an arm around you both with a dramatic yawn. âIâm so tiredâŚwe got like two hours before we even need to think about heading to the pitch.â He leans forward, giving Remus a soft look.
âWhy are you looking at me like a kicked puppy?â Remus shifts himself, taking your cup and setting it on the side table before turning back to you, settling against your back. âIâve never been one to deny a nap.â
Sirius looks up at you, âwhat do you think, Love? Maybe itâll calm your nerves?â You hum, shrugging as well as you can between the boys.
âWorth a try.â
James lets out a soft, pitying sound, staring at you. âYouâre gonna do great, youâve been stellar at practice.â
You half-smile, âyeah, itâs justâŚa lot.â
Remusâs hand gently travels up and down your arm. He presses his lips to your shoulder. âYou should try to rest.â
You hum again. âSet an alarm?â
James turns himself around, grabbing his wand and setting a quick âsuscitoâ on the clock. You close your eyes and try to calm your racing heart.
You feel Jamesâs arm return around you and Sirius, Siriusâs warm breath tickling your stomach. Remusâs hand continues traveling up and down your arm.
You still smell the glove oil in the air as you feel yourself drift to sleep, knowing that when you wake, the adrenaline (and the boys) will be all you focus on.
Small little blurb for Theo Nott
Reader is wolfstars daughter
Vienna
Theo hummed a song he didnât know the name of as he read, his head rested on his palm. He softly sang âVienna waits for youâ
And then stopped abruptly. Heâd heard that song before. A muggle song no doubt. So where had he heard it? A sea of memories flashed through his mind, all concerning his potions partner. A girl, a girl he had been thinking about a lot. He remembered how sweet the melody sounded coming from her lips as she scribbled potions ingredients on a piece of parchment. His dreamy memory sharpened and the name scrawled on the parchment came into focus, Y/N Lupin. He felt his heart speed up, he was in love with one of his best friendâs cousin.
James and Sirius and Remus and Lily and *takes a dramatic breath* you?
this one's for you @enamoredwithbella, thanks for sorting this idea out with me @unstablereader
poly!Marauders + Lily x shy!reader who is so smitten with them
pt 1 // pt 2 // pt 3 // pt 4 // pt 5
CW: fem!reader, reader has hair long enough to be played with, reader is in Hufflepuff, swearing, consent because it's sexy AF
This was obviously a bad idea.
Youâre not even sure how your friends managed to convince you to attend the Gryffindor party, but you swore to every deity it would never happen again.
There were too many people (most of whom youâd never spoken to before), it was too loud (songs you didnât particularly care for), and the fifteenth time someone bumped into you nearly sent you over the edge.
âWhoa there, sweetheart.â A low voice commented as an arm quickly righted you from your nearly horizontal position. âYâalright?â
You looked up to see the face of none other than Gryffindor quidditch captain James Potter beaming down at you.
You were ashamed of yourself for the way that smile made you feel.
âErm, yup! Thanks.â You squeaked, quickly freeing yourself from Jamesâ grasp so fast that you nearly knocked someone else over in your attempt at creating distance between you and the Headboy.
It wasnât that you didnât like James. On the contrary; you were rather smitten with him.
Him and his partners - which was nothing short of dense in simple terms.
But you couldnât help the way you blushed when he held the doors open for you as you walked into classes, or the friendly smile and wave heâd shoot at you when he saw you on Prefect rounds.Â
You sort of wished heâd stop being so bloody nice to you; maybe then youâd be able to get over this crush that was never going to amount to anything.
But James was taken; three times over.Â
And what a sodding group they were.
Heart Throb of Hogwarts⢠Sirius Black in his effortless style, his devil may care attitude, and his insatiable flirting. Being noticed by Sirius felt like your favourite rockstar singing a song written just for you.Â
And donât even get you started on the enigma that is Remus Lupin; the Cassanova of Gryffindor tower. Everyone in your year (and likely the years below you) had at some point or another crushed hard on the quiet Marauder; but it really couldnât be helped. He was tall, he was handsome, he was kind, and though he was far more quiet than his counterparts, the quips he shared with you never ceased to reduce you to a fit of laughter.
And gods, was Lily Evans ever beautiful. She was the total package; she was funny, outgoing, smart, and stunning. Looking at her even now with her long auburn hair as she threw her head back in laughter; so open and care free in her actions. You werenât sure if you wanted to be her or being underneath-
No.
No. That was not a nice thing to think about someone who was in a committed relationship.
You let out a sigh as you zoned back into the fact that James still had one of his hands on your elbow and was smiling curiously at you.Â
âThanks for the save! I really owe you one.â You chuckled awkwardly and nearly took out one of the Prewett twins in your haste to leave Potterâs vicinity.Â
Unfortunately, trouble seemed to be following you.
And by trouble, you meant Sirius Black.
âDamn, Hufflepuff!â He cheered as he moved a sultry gaze up and down your body appreciatively. âGive us a spin, dollface.â
You felt all the blood in your body migrate to your cheeks as you fought to keep your mouth from falling open.
Lily, the beautiful angel (or the evil temptress, depending on how you looked at it), swatted at Sirius from her perch on the arm of the chair her boyfriend was currently occupying.
âDown boy; youâre going to scare her away.â She teased with a smirk as she winked at you.Â
You felt momentarily grateful for her.
And then she spoke again.
âThen none of us will get to look at her.â
Fucking Helga, was it hot in here? They needed to open more windows; preferably one you could launch yourself out of right now, thank you very much.Â
âThatâd be such a shame, really. Sorry doll, you donât gotta spin - no one else here deserves to appreciate such a view.â
âOkay.â You squeaked and turned in search of your friends.
You know what? Fuck your friends; you were leaving with or without them.Â
They werenâtâŚ.flirting with you, were they?
Surely not.
Of course not.
What a ridiculous thing to think.
ButâŚit certainly felt like they were flirting with you.
Maybe one more glance?
Just as you were about to approach the portrait hole, you turned for one more look at the objects of your affection and your current tormentors and - yup, sure enough - Sirius, Lily, and now James were all standing there smiling at you.
They were watching you leave?!
Okay time to go, that is enough nonsense for one day.Â
You spun and collided with something tall and solid which thankfully caught your arms as you all but ricocheted off of them.
âHey there, dove. Whereâre you headed in such a hurry?â
Please for the love of gods, donât tell meâŚ
But of course, you looked up to see the face of one Remus Fucking Lupin smirking down at you.Â
âYou lot are everywhere.â You whispered in awe. The bastard only chuckled in response.
âCome on you guys! Weâre going to start a game of truth or dare!â Lily called over toâŚyou (?) and Remus.
âWell, we wouldnât want to miss that, would we?â Remus murmured lowly into your ear as he steered you towards the growing circle congregating around the various chairs and sofas littering the common room.
And listen, youâre not particularly proud that you were so placid in Remusâ man handling you.
But in your defenceâŚ
In your defence, Remus was man handling you.Â
And to your absolute horror, he plopped you down beside Lily on a large chair that was not quite large enough for two people.Â
You tried to swallow your heart back down which was attempting to escape via your mouth as you became hyper focused on the fact that Lily sodding Evans was pushed up against you none too casually and- Merlinâs tits, was she playing with your hair!?Â
You pretended to pay attention as a few rounds passed by; your friend being dared to give you a lap dance being the most brazen thing to have taken place.
Until it got to the Marauders.
Marlene dared Sirius to strip down to his boxers for a whole round which he was all but too eager to do, apparently. Meaning he got to ask the next person.
âMoony!âÂ
Remus smiled down at his lap before he looked over at one of his boyfriendâs mischievously.Â
âI dare you to kiss the prettiest girl here.â
Youâre not necessarily proud of the way your heart plummeted at that; this is what you had been telling yourself all night. They were taken.
No matter if they complimented you.
No matter if they caught you as you fell.Â
No matter if they snuggled up to you on a chair designed for one.
No matter if one of them made you feel like you leaving the party early would have been truly devastating.
No matter.
âThatâs impossible; thereâs two of them.â Remus said quickly, causing your heart to ache for Lily.
Who even says that when their girlfriend is sitting right here!?
You kept your head down as the party all oooohâed and aawwwweeeâd.
James let out a funny high pitched laugh as if he were an over excited kid on Christmas morning. âGuess youâll have to kiss them both then.âÂ
You really should have left when you had the chance; you werenât sure you could watch.
It was their business if they wanted to include another, but that didnât mean you had to like it.
âOr they can kiss each other; I think Iâd enjoy that just as much.âÂ
âSounds good to me.â Lily said as she stood; the space she once inhabited felt cold and vacant without her.
âWell? Come on then?â She said as she grabbed your arm.
âWhat?â
âCome with me.â She said again, wiggling your arm within your grasp, and who were you to deny her, really?
Like a well trained dog you followed her obediently over to where Remus sat before she all but shoved you into his lap.
âYou seem like the fidgety type; maybe Rem can help with that, hm?â She said as she shot a wink at Remus over your shoulder.
His arms wrapped possessively around your waist as he rested his chin on the junction between your neck and shoulder.
âIs it okay if she kisses you, pretty girl?â
You had no time to be absolutely horrified at the pathetic little keening sound that escaped your lips as you looked up at the red-head now towering over you.
âWhat do you say, gorgeous?â And though her emerald eyes did shine with some mischief, you could see she was earnest; this was your choice.
âOkay.â You whispered barely loud enough for you to hear yourself over the hammering of your heart.
âYeah?â She whispered as she knelt in front of you.
âYeah.â You agreed.
And you only got to see the soft, hopeful smile that adorned her lips for but a moment before her hands were on either side of your face and she was pressing her soft lips to yours.Â
It could have been hours or centuries but it was also all too soon before she was pulling away from you; a proud smile on her lips though her cheeks were a similar colour to her hair.
You became aware of the hooting and hollering going on around you as Remusâ chest began to vibrate in laughter.
âBeautiful.â He murmured - likely more to himself than to you, but you heard it all the same.
âDo I get a turn?!â James shouted before Sirius roughly grabbed him by the waist and planted him down on his lap.
âNot before me, Jamie.â He snickered as he shot you a wink.Â
The audacity of a man to still be so confident sitting in nothing but his boxers.Â
You tried to hide behind your hands though it was all for naught as Remus made a theatrical cooing sound and pulled you further into his lap until you were all but cradled in his arms.
âMaybe without an audience next time, hm?â He asked you as he brushed some hairs away from your forehead.
Not trusting yourself to speak (or to even make direct eye contact with the bloke currently cuddling you in your lap), you nodded with your face still hidden.
âWay to go babe.â James said as Lily went to join the two boys on their loveseat. âYou were so good, weâll even get a next time!â
read about their first date here!
hi! i have this really cute idea for regulus x fem! reader. so reader is a animagus and itâs winter time so sometimes sheâll shift into a their animal form, preferably a cat, and goes seek out warmth. but reader is also besties with remus and knows heâs a werewolf, his body temperature runs a lot warmer then anyone else so she goes to room to cuddle. when that happens, regulus immediately knows they reader is with remus and, begrudgingly, goes to gryffindor to steal reader back.
when he gets there, sirius is pouring and complains to reggie that âyour girlfriend is stealing my boyfriendâ and regulus snaps back by saying âwell your boyfriend is stealing my girlfriendâ and reader and remus are amused but their bickering but donât care.
anon. anon. i am giving you the BIGGEST kiss, you don't even know. this is perhaps the best idea i've seen in a while and so i love you. i will be thinking about this throughout all of winter, thank you.
When Regulus accepted Siriusâ attempt to mend their relationship, he had expected to get his big brother back in full and no more. The person who understands him best, the boy he needed to lean on â it was all he wanted to get out of it. Perhaps he expected to have to grown tolerant of his brotherâs friends, but that was something he dreaded, if he at all thought of.
What Regulus had not expected was to be introduced to and fall head over heels in love with you.
Remusâ childhood best friend, the more reserved one of the bunch that he had always seen floating around with them, but whose voice he had never had to roll his eyes at, thus never interacted with. It bewildered him now how he once upon a time barely thought of you, regarded you.
Now he knew you were delightful, and Regulus was positively smitten.
It had been exactly what Regulus had never thought he would get â an easy love. Like your friends, you were open and honest and loyal to the bone, and it spilled over like honey into your relationships with those around you. Once you caught a glance of his clearly lovestruck eyes, you melted, and the puddle was caught delicately in his hands.
Since then, that is where he has held you. In the palms of his hands, close to his heart. He learned more than he perhaps wanted to know about himself during the process of opening up to you, and you showed him a patience he still is not entirely certain he deserves. But you gave him your time, your moments, your touches and your lips, and he received and received without complaint.
When the two most important people in Regulusâ life â one a fervent, natural devotion, another a sassy, passionate rivalry â were in the same hazardous circle of loud-mouthed Gryffindor friends, he eventually had to capitulate that he could no longer just tolerate them. They were family.
God, what love has cost him.
Regulus walked into his dorm room where you have spent more days than not for the past few months, and sighed defeatedly when all he finds there is Barty laying on top of Evan in some odd position that cannot possibly be comfortable.
âHello to you too, Black. Thrilling to see you.â Bartyâs voice was laced with sarcasm, but there was no menace there as of yet.
âYeah, yeah,â Regulus grumbled as he threw his bookbag onto his bed and sat down. âYou seen Y/N lately?â
âYou mean since you were all snuggled up this morning? Nah.â
Regulus rolled his eyes painfully hard at his oldest friend, murmuring a soft sod off before tossing whatever was closest â his pyjama t-shirt â in Bartyâs general direction, missing by a good metre. He is a seeker and not a chaser for a reason.
âWhat of it, Reg?â Evan mumbled, but it was distorted by Bartyâs elbow being more or less shoved into his mouth. He could never sit still.
âJust figured sheâd be here, âs all. She finished class before me.â Regulus falls down onto his bed, curls spilling onto the emerald sheets as he stares at the ceiling, picturing you there and then immediately kicking himself for being that down bad. Then reminding himself with the therapy-speech Sirius has been teaching him, love is a strength not a weakness, itâs good to feel your feelings. Yada yada. "It's been a long day."
âMaybe she got tired of your sorry ass.â Barty laughed at his own joke only to be smacked by Evanâs finally-freed hand.
âOr yours, you sod.â
âNah, Treasure absolutely adores me.â Barty propped himself up to flash you both a grin. âSee, unlike you, Iâm fun.â
âInteresting word to substitute insufferable with.â Evan said, leaning his face up from underneath Barty, as if to intimidate him.
âYou love me,â Barty drawled before kissing the blond soundly.
âWould you guys please stop flirting?â Regulusâ voice was closer to a groan than anything else. He pressed the backs of his hands to his eyes, seeing stars and thinking of you. Stupid poetic feelings.
âJust because you canât keep track of your girl doesnât mean we canât enjoy ourselves.â Barty pointed an accusatory finger at Regulus. âI would classify that demand as rude.â
âBite me.â
âOnly if your girlfriend says yes.â This time it was Evanâs turn of tuning into Regulusâ torture.
âAnd she would.â Barty winks at him.
This time itâs a pillow Regulus throws at them, and it lands perfectly, smack in the middle of Bartyâs face.
âOi!â He calls as he throws it back. âEither you quit it, or you throw me your jumper, itâs freezing in here.â
âYouâre literally in bed, Barty.â Regulus looks at him, unamused. âJustââ
He trails off, gaze falling from Barty to the wall behind him as he pieces the puzzle together and realisation dawns on his face. The other boys seem to have caught on as they both cock their heads curiously at him.Â
âOf course,â Regulus whispers, first in marvel and then it morphs into something between exasperation and disgust. âOf course.â At last, he gets a determined look on his face, slapping his palms on his knees as he sits up from bed and grabs his jumper to go.
âExcuse you, what just happened?â Barty says, increasingly louder throughout his sentence as he realises Regulus is headed for the door, thick wool jumper tucked under his arm. âHey!â
Regulus throws the boys a look over his shoulder, smirking at them and shaking his head before shutting the door and walking off. He barely catches Evanâs âshush, you baby, Iâll warm yaâ before he is out of earshot.
A man with a purpose and half a plan stalks off, beginning the treacherous journey from the Slytherin dungeons to the Gryffindor dormitories.
What is the single thing Regulus knows can keep you from him when youâre otherwise attached at the hip? The cold.
What is the one person you go to for anything and everything, especially dealing with the cold? A certain ragged boy with a wolfish smile that he knows is to be found only behind the portrait of an increasingly annoying woman.
âPassword?â The Fat Lady asked, quirking a brow ridiculously high as she regards Regulus with a mutual disgust.
âCatulus leonis.â Regulus does not bother holding back the eyeroll at the ridiculous passphrase.
She looks at him a moment or five longer than she needs, almost as if considering not letting him in despite his answer being perfectly correct, before she finally swings open the door wordlessly.
Regulus mutters a harsh thank you, Pureblood upbringing having knocked some politeness into him he is just not able to forego, no matter how severe his beef â as Sirius says â with the woman is.
When he finally approaches the offending dorm, the door opens fast enough to knock some wind across his face, and he is met with a set of black curls and a superfluous frown that both match his own.
âRegulus. Thank Merlin.â
âGood to see you too, Siri. How'd you know it was me?â
"Recognised your footsteps. Now, c'mon."
Regulus pushes in past his brother and his eyes immediately find Remus Lupinâs bed. To the unaware, it would just look like the scrawny boy was innocently laying on his bed, head propped against a mountain of pillows and reading another one of his paperbacks.
However, Regulus knew better and could see the perfect girlfriend-shaped lump underneath Remusâ jumper, shielded by his arms as he held his book over his stomach.
Or, at least shaped like this rather specific form of his girlfriend.
âHello, amour, Iâve been looking for you.â Regulusâ voice is addressed to the bump on Remusâ chest, but he looks up at him with a quirked brow and a smug smile tugging on the corner of his lips.
âDidnât know we were on a pet name-basis, Reg. Good to know.âÂ
âAbsolutely not.â Sirius and Regulus chorus at the exact same time, and Regulus fights back the wince at how painfully similar they are in this moment.
âReggie,â Sirius finally whines. âYour girlfriendâs been stealing my boyfriend for the past two hours. Do something!â
Despite having a very similar sentiment settled in his own chest, Regulus gives his brother a pull yourself together look as he comes up to stand beside him, near the occupied bed. âIâm fairly certain your boyfriend has stolen my girlfriend equally as much,â he tuts.
âWhatever, just do something.â Sirius waves his hand towards Remusâ still very relaxed state with something a bit too close to a pout forming on his face.
âThereâs no need to be jealous, Pads, the poor girlâs just cold,â Remus chides, with a teasing glint in his eye that clearly shows he knows his boyfriend is being dramatic for the bit and not actually upset. "Gotta help 'er out."
ââM not jealous. Iâm needy.â Siriusâ deadpan stare is not affected by Remusâ laughter nor Regulusâ barely-contained snort.
âGlad you admit it,â Regulus says slyly, patting Sirius on his shoulder twice, who immediately shrugs his hand off with a scowl.
âLike youâre any better, you slithered all the way up from the snake pit to fetch her. At least Iâm open about it.â
Before Regulus has the chance to retort, Remus puts his book down in his lap and reaches out a hand for Sirius, which he immediately takes. âI told you you could come lay in the bed with us, love,â Remus murmurs and swipes his thumb over the back of Siriusâ hand.
If he did not feel the same way, Regulus would have given Sirius hell for how he seemed to absolutely soften in the sunlight of his boy. âYeah, I know, Moons, Iâm just being theatrical.â
Remus laughs once more, and this time his chest rumbling results in a distinct prrrt! coming from the inside of his jumper. Up through the collar, cheek smashed against Remusâ, comes the tentative head of beautiful grey-and-white fur and slow-blinking yellow eyes, still riddled with sleep.Â
âGood morning, amour,â Regulus coos, ignoring Siriusâ snort as he drops down to squat beside Remusâ bed so his face is lined up with yours.
You pur, stretching beneath the fabric, a single paw escaping beside your head through the collar as you roll over onto your back. Your eyes remained trained on Regulus, and though he knows cats canât actually smile, he swears you were smiling at him.
âSorry to wake you, princess,â Sirius drawls as he looks down at you from where he is leaning on the bedpost beside Remus. âBut have you seeped up enough warmth for me to get my boyfriend back yet?â
You make a faux hissing sound before ducking your head down, so itâs just barely hidden by the collar.
Remus laughs heartily, setting his book completely away this time so his hand can come up to rest on your cat-form, petting you through his jumper. âItâs alright kitten, take your time.â
The exposed paw lightly hits Remusâ cheek in retaliation, and this time it is Sirius and Regulusâ turn to laugh at his expense. âOw! I share my warmth with you and this is what I get in return?â
From the movement beneath the fabric, Regulus assumes youâre nuzzling your head against his chest in apology.
âAmour, I brought your favourite jumper of mine and promise to make you so much hot cocoa if I can steal you back. We can be in your dorm room instead of mine, itâs warmer in there, right?â A smile remains consistent on Regulusâ face as he talks to you.
Sirius pats him on the back, murmuring something about youâre so whipped that he doesnât bother to pay attention to.Â
More movement beneath the fabric, and then suddenly your ears are poking out of the neckline again â because why would you make it easy for yourself and use the big exit, when you can squeeze your way through a tight opening? Youâre a cat after all.
Remus seems to be thinking the same as he laughs while you attempt to climb out beside his head, soft fur brushing against his skin and making up for the occasional claw you use for traction.Â
Regulus attempts to bite back the coos as he sees more and more of you, recognising your movements as sluggish with sleep, no doubt coaxed into it by finally being comfortable.
âThanks for today, see you again tomorrow, same time?â Remus teases, head turned towards you as you headbutt him lovingly, finally fully escaped from his jumper and standing on his shoulder. He nuzzles you back and scratches your head in goodbye.
Another prrrt! escapes you in greeting as you saunter your way across Remus and plop onto the small strip of mattress on his side where Regulusâ hands are open and ready to receive you.Â
âHi, sweetie,â he whispers as you allow him to scoop you up into his arms while heâs still squatting beside the bed. He holds you like an infant, tight to his body and securely supported. You immediately begin to purr loudly, nuzzling your head even further into his neck and shoulder.
Regulus does not bother to hold back the slight giggle as your caresses tickle him.Â
âGood gods, are you two sappy,â Sirius groans, but when Regulus looks up, there is a wide grin on his face. A slightly teasing one admittedly, but a grin nonetheless.
Then, Regulus recognises where Sirius is grinning at him from â properly cuddled up besides Remus on the opposite side of the bed, arms beneath his jumper, soaking up the leftover warmth from you.
âWaitâ how did you get there so fast?â Regulusâ voice is almost incredulous, stopping his greeting of you â earning him a harrumphing meow â to narrow his eyes at his brother. âI didnât even notice you move from beside me.â
âWhat can I say; I am a dedicated man.â Sirius nuzzles into Remusâ cheek, not much unlike how you were mere seconds ago, albeit his involved a tad many more kisses.
âYouâre weird, thatâs what you are,â Regulus laughs as he stands up with you in his arms.
You turn around to look up at him with those big, slitted eyes of yours. When you extend your neck further towards his face, Regulus lifts you higher so you can give him the cat-kisses you so evidently wanted, his lips curling at your touch.
Sirius lifts a brow at the two of you. âYeah. Iâm the weird one.âÂ
Regulus scoffs at him, but when you continue to caress your furry cheeks against his lips and chin, it is difficult for any menace to remain serious.
âThank you for your deviant supernatural warmth keeping my girlfriend alive, Lupin, but Iâd like to steal her away from you now.âÂ
âBy all means, Black, youâve already stolen her from me once,â Remus harrumphs, pretending to be some scorned faux older brother but his eyes betray his facade; he is happy for you.
Regulus chooses to ignore it nonetheless.
âBrother.â He nods at Sirius. âSoon to be brother-in-law.â He nods at Remus. âWe bid you goodnight.â
âTry not to undo all of Moonyâs hard work by freezing her right back up with your freakishly cold feet!â Sirius calls after him as he heads towards the door. He then promptly gives out a soft yelp that indicates Remus corrected him in some physical way.
âGoodnight love, goodnight Reg,â Remus calls instead.
âYeah, bye, doll!â Sirius adds, whispering more to himself, âheâs mine again now.â
You give out a tired meow that is so cute it makes Regulusâ heart clench with endearment. You cuddle properly up into the crook of his neck as he carries you out, softly closing the door behind him with a smile.
He shifts you in his grip so he can look down at you more carefully. âYou are so unbelievably predictable. And even cuter than that again, which is saying something,â he murmurs to you and you respond with quiet meows.
He looks at you curiously. âAre you going to remain in cat form the whole night?â
Your tail twitches teasingly, your only other response is a quiet prrt as you close your eyes into the warmth of his neck again. He laughs, covering your feline body with his hands as he carries you, to keep the warmth in.
He sneaks into your dorm â thankfully often unoccupied as Marlene is with Dorcas and Mary is with Pandora â and settles you down onto your plush mattress and pillows. He undresses and gets ready for bed, while youâre resting your head on the pillow, observing him, but just before getting under the covers, he slips on his jumper.
âItâs so soft I could cry, Reggie,â you had whispered to him when you cuddled up to him when he wore it around you for the first time. âI fear I can never let you go now.â
Regulus slides under the blankets with a knowing smile, opening the hem, allowing you to creep under, chest against chest with your head poking out of the collar to rest at the bottom of his neck.Â
âI'm no werewolf, but Iâll keep you warm with my love, amour,â he whispered to you in the dark, one hand combing through your fur protectively underneath his own jumper.
He swears, he could hear the little cat snort against his skin.
Regulus fell desperately deeper in love.
I hate to do asks but like just imagine this! At hogwarts there is a group thatâs kinda like a polyamorous relationship but just for s*x and itâs like slytherin and gryffindor students and they decided they wanted someone from like a year younger so they start to slowly talk to innocent reader to get them comfortable around them before starting to get touchy with her (maybe she is a hufflepuff? Thatâs my house)
iâm a hufflepuff too đŤśđť thanks for feeling comfy enough to send me this ask if you donât usually like doing that!
a proposition | poly!marauders
pairing: poly!marauders x fem!reader (james, remus, and sirius, featuring alecto, dorcas, evan, lily, and mary)
warnings: none!
a/n: i donât even realize my sirius favoritism until i proofread a poly story and iâm like damn okay then WHORE
a proposition: masterlist
ââââââ âž ââââââ
Everyone knew about it.
Even though it wasnât spoken of in the presence of the students not involved, everyone knew about it.
It wasnât exactly a polyamorous relationship, because a relationship implies more than just physicality, which is what it was. It was purely for sex.
It was started, of course, by Sirius Black. He had a casanova reputation, and after a while, he started looking to the same group of girls when he was in the mood. His best friend, Remus, unknowingly slept with quite a few of the same girls, and a lot of those girls slept with each other.
James didnât have as much sex as his two best friends, but he quickly became involved. After a while, a group was established.
All of the students involved knew one another well, and were all somewhat close friends that had not romantic desires toward one another, but unashamed lust. It was a sex positive group, and was essentially just a group of students who fucked each other whenever.
Despite the unofficial, non-relationship standing, they all agreed to only have sex with each other. If they wanted to add someone into the group, they all had to agree to it. So, in a way, it was a relationship, but, in a way, it wasnât. There wasnât really a label on what it was, but it worked for them.
Everyone in the group was in the same year at Hogwarts, so they all related to each other well.
However, a few of them began to crave something new- someone not so in line with everyone.
Everyone sat in the Gryffindor common room at an hour late enough that most others were asleep. James sat on the floor, his back resting between Dorcasâs legs as she played with his hair, tying small braids from the curly strands.
âWe wanna bring something up,â James said.
âWeâre doing weâs now?â Sirius scolded, taking a drag of his cigarette.
âI just mean, thereâs something Dorcas and I talked about, and now Iâm talking about it with all of you,â James clarified.
âFair enough, whatâs up?â Mary asked.
âIâm wondering how everyone here would feel about inviting someone new into the group.â
Everyone looked around the room at one another, attempting to gage the energy of everyone else before speaking their own opinions.
âI vote we should bring in someone younger,â Evan added.
âYounger like what? Like wouldnât that be weird?â Remus asked.
âNo, idiot, like a year under us,â Evan retorted.
âWhere the fuck are we gonna find someone a year younger than us who would be down to do this?â Mary questioned.
Sirius flicked a spark off of his cigarette, clearing his throat and sitting forward a bit. âI have someone in mind.â
âHas everyone been trying to scope out prospects? Am I the only one who hasnât thought about inviting in anyone new?â Alecto asked.
There was another shared look, and everyone shrugged. They had all thought about a change.
âWhoâd you have in mind, Sirius?â Dorcas brought the attention back to his statement.
âThereâs this hufflepuff a year below us, seems super innocent though,â Sirius said, taking a quick hit of smoke, âblushes every time I look at her.â
âIs she hot?â Remus asked.
âNo, Iâm proposing we all fuck her because sheâs not hot,â Sirius snapped, his voice laced with evident sarcasm.
Sirius told them your name, and a few of them already knew who you were.
âSheâs super cute!â Dorcas exclaimed, âIâm super down for that. Anyone disagree?â
Everybody was on board with the idea.
ââââââ âž ââââââ
âGo on, then.â
James turned to Sirius and Remus, saying, âwhy does it have to be me? You go do it.â
âFine,â Sirius replied, âRemus, go talk to her.â
Remus threw his hands up. âWhat happened to being set on making James do it?â
Sirius shrugged his shoulders. âSheâs not gonna be sitting at that table forever. You nervous or somethinâ?â
âNo,â Remus quickly replied, âthis is just, I donât know, weird.â
âHowâs it weird?â
âBecause Iâm about to go interrupt the poor girl in order to talk to her with the intention of later asking her to fuck me and all my friends,â Remus explained, âI donât know, itâs just a weird thing to do.â
âFuckinâ hell, I canât stand you two,â Sirius said, flicking a spark off of his cigarette and walking over to you. He sat down across the table from you, watching you intently as you scribbled notes off a textbook.
You didnât look up because you didnât even consider that he was sitting near you for a reason.
âHey.â
You looked up, and Sirius was looking directly at you. The familiar tint of red crept into your cheeks. âHi.â
He took a drag of his cigarette, kicking his feet up onto the table. âSeen you around quite a bit.â
You couldnât help but stare at his lips as they wrapped around the cigarette.
âWe do go to the same school,â you quipped, smiling to show it was lighthearted.
Sirius smirked, happy you were responding well to him. âI usually donât get on with anyone that isnât in my year.â
âWhy talk to me then?â you asked.
âDonât know,â Sirius said, swinging his feet off the table and leaning his torso over the table a bit, âguess somethinâ just caught my eye.â
He knew his flirtations would make you blush, and they did just that. You smiled as you tilted your head back down, pretending to look over your notes in an attempt to calm yourself.
Siriusâs smile only widened watching you squirm under his gaze. âWhatcha studying?â
âFwoopers,â you responded, âbut understanding seems to evade me sometimes.â
âYou know whoâs super smart? My friend James.â
âWh-â before you could even stop him, Sirius signaled over James, who approached you with Remus in tow.
âThis is James, James, say hi.â
James sighed. âIâm not a dog, Sirius, unlike some people.â
âFunny,â Sirius retorted, âdo you think you could help my new friend with some Care of Magical Creatures work?â
âOh, I donât- Iâm all good, I-â
âCourse,â James lit up, sitting down directly next to you, âlemme see.â
He pulled the textbook toward him, familiarizing himself with what you were reading as Remus took a seat next to Sirius.
You watched a few girls walk past your table, shooting you dirty looks when they noticed that the boys were otherwise occupied with you. Sirius, Remus, and James has grown to be quite popular, and them speaking with a random, younger Hufflepuff was odd. Remus noticed your shift in energy.
âYou alright?â he asked.
âYeah, I just- Iâm a year under you, I canât do your schoolwork for you or anything.â
Sirius furrowed his brows in confusion. âWhy would we want you to do our schoolwork?â
âI donât know, is that not why youâre all talking to me?â
James diverted his attention from your textbook, looking at you in understanding. He felt a pant of guilt for springing everyone on you at once, and a pang of sadness for the fact you didnât think they would actually want to talk to you just because.
âYou forget James is top of his class,â Sirius said, but James didnât think the mood called for quips. He shot Sirius a look, taking over the conversation.
âWeâre sorry if we came off a little strong,â he started, âwe all just wanted to say hey. We see you around a lot and think youâre cute, itâs as simple as that.â
âOh,â you said, suddenly turning weak.
Sirius was smiling and relaxing back into the chair, amused to high hell with how innocent and blushy you were from such a small little compliment. He was so happy he suggested you.
ââââââ âž ââââââ
The following day, Remus and Lily caught you walking down a corridor during your free period.
âShouldnât you be in class?â you asked, directing the question toward Remus as they caught up to you.
âDidnât feel like going,â Remus said, nonchalant.
âYou canât just not go,â you laughed, assuming he wasnât serious.
âBe careful with this one,â Lily said to you, gesturing to Remus, âheâs a horrible influence. You wouldnât have caught me dead skipping a lecture last year. He can be very persuasive.â
Something about the way she said it made you swallow hard, suddenly extremely aware of your presence and appearance.
âIâm Lily,â she finally introduced herself, throwing a piece of hair behind her shoulder. She was beautiful, and you became self conscious in her vicinity.
You didnât respond, just smiled, so she took the opportunity to continue. âMy friends and I are all headed to Hogsmeade later. Youâre welcome to join if you want!â
âYouâd want me to join?â you questioned.
âDonât be silly, why not? Remus will be there too, and a ton of other really cool people.â
You contemplated your options. You had no reason to believe that Remus and Lily were not genuine in their invitation, and you were excited at the prospect of new friends. âSure,â you responded.
Lily squealed and gave you a small hug. âIâll go tell everyone youâre coming!â
âWhy would you need-â
âBye!â
Lily scrambled off down the hallway, leaving you alone with Remus.
âShe tends to get excited,â Remus explained, âsheâs the friendliest people-person I know. Can get quite annoying, actually.â
You giggled at his statement, and he took the opportunity to brush his hand against yours. You took it as an accident, so you didnât even react, but then he intertwined his fingers with your own.
You didnât retract your hand, but instead looked to where yours met his, and then looked at him. He continued looking forward, walking alongside you and not acknowledging what he did. He wanted to see if you would pull away on your own, but you didnât. It felt comfortable.
You got ready for your trip with your new friends alone, since all of them were in Gryffindor or Slytherin and stuck to their respective common rooms. You caught Lily and Mary outside of their common room, and you walked with them down to Hogsmeade.
Now that you were outside of the castle walls, you noticed a shift in how everyone acted with one another. They were all very touchy, making sexual innuendos at each other and allowing themselves to have fun without restriction.
You followed as they immediately went to Honeydukes. Alecto informed you that Sirius had a serious sweet tooth, and always made everyone go there as the very first stop on their trips. No one complained, though, because they all wanted to anyway.
As you all exited the shop, Dorcas made a show of sucking her lollipop, staring Evan in the eyes as she did so. You felt your cheeks go hot, almost feeling like you saw something you shouldnât have.
The next stop was the Three Broomsticks, and James saw your confusion as you reached the entrance.
âYou okay?â he asked you.
âYeah, just- didnât you all just get a whole bunch of sweets?â
James laughed, âand?â
You smiled toward him. âFair enough.â
âWe donât like to shy away from the pleasure of life, darling,â Dorcas said, imitating a very english accent. Everyone laughed in unison at her impression.
You all crowded around a table, and you remained silent, your hands in your lap for fear of obstructing the space Sirius had to your left and Mary had to your right.
You listened intently as everyone joked and talked about their current courses and professors, when suddenly a question was directed at you.
âSo tell me, which professor do you like the least? I just know itâs Professor Bins. I mean, youâre crazy if you donât say Bins,â Lily said.
âIf I had to pick, sure,â you said.
âHeâs never done anything to drive you crazy?â
âI mean, there was this one time he assigned so much work over the holiday that someone threw a desk out the window,â you started.
âWait what? What exactly happened?â Lily asked, enthusiastic that you were finally opening up.
âIt was just all textbook readings and analysis, especially about the Ministry and MACUSA and all that, and he said it had to be done by the time we came back from holiday. A few students protested, and he just got more and more angry until someone stood up, picked up a desk, and chucked it out the window. It happened so fast I donât think anyone had the time to levitate it before it hit the ground.â
Everyone chuckled at the story, and you felt at ease now that you were becoming more and more comfortable with the group.
âAnd did heâŚâ
âFaint from sheer stress? Oh absolutely,â you added, smiling as you spoke, your posture adjusting to mimic your growing comfort.
You didnât catch it, but Sirius and Remus exchanged a look, nodding their heads upward at one another as Sirius gently placed his hand on your thigh.
Your body jolted a slight bit as you flinched, startled by the unfamiliar feeling. Sirius immediately pulled his hand away, but you turned to him, and spoke low enough that only he could hear. âItâs okay, you can leave it there.â
Sirius put his hand back, resting it low on your thigh. As time went on, and you continued talking, he began to rub his thumb on your leg. It felt unfamiliar, but soothing and intimate.
Of course you were attracted to the people at the table: they were all insanely attractive and kind to you, but you hadnât felt this feeling before. Someone was touching you, and so intimately, and it was doing something to you.
Sirius began to slowly creep his hand upward, rubbing your inner thigh under your skirt, only a few inches away from your most sensitive area.
You shuddered and your breathing hitched in your throat, but you didnât stop him.
You were suddenly snapped back to reality when you noticed everyone watching you. You looked around the table, slightly embarrassed and slightly confused.
âWe have a proposition for you,â James said.
cw: mention of alcohol, smoking, Sirius makes lame and humorously objectifying jokes
poly!wolfstar x fem!reader ⥠1.5k words
You arrive to the party late, the Gryffindor common room already bustling by the time you and your friends have finished doing your last-minute costume alterations. There are glowing pumpkins floating on the ceiling, someone has charmed the room so that a thick layer of fog drifts along the floor, and the air already smells slightly of booze and cigarette smoke.Â
You lose Lilyâs attention immediately, but thatâs to be expected. Youâre more than accustomed by now to her searching for her boyfriend whenever you enter a room. Whatâs unexpected, however, is her reaction when she finds him.
âUh oh.âÂ
âUh oh?â You look at her, following her gaze to the couch across the room. âOh. Oh, no.âÂ
Lily laughs. âIt sort of seems like fate, doesnât it? I think itâs sweet.âÂ
Sitting on their usual couch are the marauders. James, predictably, is wearing a costume matching Lilyâs; theyâve both come as cowboys. Unfortunately, Sirius and Remus are sitting next to him dressed as pirates.Â
Youâre also dressed as a pirate.Â
âItâs not sweet,â you moan. âIf I go back up, do you think Marlene will make me some of her fake blood? I can change and be a vampire instead.âÂ
Lily hums. âThink itâs too late for that, babe.âÂ
Sheâs looking back towards the couch, where the boys have already caught sight of the pair of you. Sirius is beaming something atrocious, and even Remus looks amused while his boyfriend waves you over exuberantly.Â
Lily takes your hand in hers, tugging you with her as she goes to them.Â
âHowdy, darlinâ.â James puts on an exaggerated southern drawl as you approach, opening his arms to his girlfriend.Â
âMy, my,â says Sirius as you sit between him and Lily, âdonât you look nice.âÂ
You ignore the warmth that brings to your face. âThe point wasnât really to look nice.âÂ
Your costume is thrown together from things you already had, the only thing that really distinguishes you as a pirate being the bandana youâve tied around your head. Remus appears to have gone a similar route, although the white shirt heâs tucked into his pants looks a bit more on-theme than yours and heâs clearly been forced to wear an eye patch which is currently flipped up so that itâs not covering anything. Sirius, of course, does nothing halfway. Heâs wearing a billowy black top thatâs been unbuttoned nearly to his navel, more belts and buckles than you knew one person could have, and a captainâs hat he surely bought just for the occasion. Altogether, you make a fairly fearsome group.Â
âNot sure you can help it, gorgeous.â Sirius winks at you. âYou always look nice. Did you plant a spy to find out what you needed to wear to match us, then?âÂ
You roll your eyes good-naturedly. âI should probably be asking you that.âÂ
âMustâve just been fate,â Sirius says. Itâs so close to what Lily said that your cheeks blaze, but you also donât know if you quite believe him. Remus, too, turns to give his boyfriend a questioning look.Â
Sirius catches it and scoffs, holding up his hands. âI didnât! Honestly.âÂ
Remus nods, appeased. In a less booming voice than his boyfriendâs, he tells you, âYou do look very nice.âÂ
âThanks.â You catch yourself fingering the ends of your hair like a nervous schoolgirl and tuck your hands underneath your thighs. âSo do both of you.âÂ
Sirius grins knowingly, and you have to fight the urge to shove your face into Lilyâs shoulder for refuge. He knows as well as you do that for all of his brazen flirting, itâs Remusâ quiet sincerity that flusters you the most. Youâre not sure when it started, exactly, but itâs been clear for some time now that both boys are interested in you. Youâre not sure in what capacityâthey could want to take you to bed for one night, integrate you into their relationship, or anything in betweenâbut as of yet youâve neither encouraged nor discouraged their advances.Â
âThanks, dollface.â Sirius gives a winsome crack of a smile. âYou know, Iâve already acquired some booty, but I wouldnât mind winning some more.âÂ
âSiriusâŚâ Remus groans.
You feel your eyebrows pinch. âSome what?âÂ
âYou know, like pirateâs loot? My booty.â Sirius sidles closer to Remus, giving his thigh a solid pat.Â
Remusâ eyes narrow. âI will leave you here and go back upstairs right now.â It sounds as though this is not the first time this has been threatened.Â
âI worked hard for it!â Sirius defends himself.Â
You cover your mouth against an appalled giggle. âIt?âÂ
âI toiled, and I fought, and I had to battle many other fearsome ships! Itâs mine.âÂ
âRemus,â you stage whisper, âblink twice if you need help.âÂ
Remusâ smile blooms, but when he starts to blink Sirius objects, âOi!âÂ
âNo,â you correct him, âyouâre supposed to say âarr.ââ
Sirius is grinning again, too, clearly chuffed that youâre joking around with them even if it is at his expense. âIf I say âarr,â youâll agree to be my second booty for the rest of the night?âÂ
âI wonât make any promises. But it would be persuasive.âÂ
He growls enthusiastically, âArrrrgh!â and slams his fist down on the table. The sound it makes is enough to tear James and Lilyâs attention away from each other.Â
âMerlin,â says James. âDidâya hurt yourself there, Pads?âÂ
âNo,â Sirius replies, but he gives his hand a little shake.Â
Remus, rolling his eyes, takes it and kisses the side. He brings it into his lap for safekeeping. Your heart gives a painful little throb.Â
You must have some stupid lovestruck look on your face, because Lily peers around James to see you better, a smile playing on her lips. She knows about your crushes on the two boys, just as well as she knows that you havenât decided what to do about them yet. But that doesnât mean she doesnât like to help you along.Â
âCome on,â she says to James, standing and taking him with her. âLetâs dance, and Iâll let you pretend to lasso me.âÂ
James beams. âYes!âÂ
You watch them go while Sirius seizes the opportunity to move to your other side, the three of you taking up the entirety of the couch.Â
âPhew,â he sighs, swinging his feet over the armrest.Â
âYou may want to take your legs out of the fog,â Remus suggests, also using the new space to bring his feet onto the couch. âIt gets sticky after a while.âÂ
You frown but do as he says, pulling your feet from your shoes so that only your socks are on the couch. And sure enough, when you touch a finger to your ankle it feels like thereâs an odd sort of coating over it.Â
âI thought it was just fog,â you say.Â
âIt was supposed to be,â agrees Sirius, âbut James entrusted the task of making it to Marlene, and there are some who think she mightâve laced it with some sort of drink.âÂ
âIâm some,â Remus owns.Â
You smile. âSo is the point that you should be able toâŚdrink the fog?â
âNo clue.â Sirius leans over the edge of the couch. âLetâs find out.âÂ
âSirius, no,â Remus says weakly, trailing off when itâs clear the other boy wonât be deterred. You both watch as he sucks in what fog he can, closing his mouth around it. âThatâs disgusting, everyoneâs been walking around in it.âÂ
âI think it might be brandy,â Sirius muses. âItâs faint, though.âÂ
Remus frowns. âIâm not kissing you until you brush your teeth.âÂ
Sirius grins. âYes, you are.âÂ
âWeâll see, wonât we?âÂ
âWouldnât you rather just get your own drink?â you ask Sirius. âRather than sampling the faint traces of brandy that have been touched by other peopleâs shoes, I mean.âÂ
âOh, rest assured, gorgeous, Iâm all covered.â Sirius picks a cup up from the table. He seems to notice at the same moment that you donât have a cup of your own. âWould you like one, though?âÂ
You glance to the table cluttered with alcohol and mixers, a throng of students clustered around it. âIâll get one in a bit.âÂ
âLet me.â Sirius stands. He edges around the table, stopping to pinch your chin affectionately and give his boyfriend a kiss. âRem, my love, keep her company, would you?âÂ
âYou donât have to,â you object. âI can get it.âÂ
âNo, donât be ridiculous. A pirate has to take care of his booty, hasnât he?âÂ
âI never agreed to that!â you call after him. In a quieter voice, you add, âAnd I donât think thatâs how the relationship between a pirate and their booty works.âÂ
âLet him go,â Remus advises you. You startle a bit when his hand finds your knee, resting there in fond commiseration. âIf heâs going to degrade us like this, he can at least bring us drinks.âÂ
You feel your lips tilt. âAre you really going to let him call you his booty all night?âÂ
âProbably.â Remus shrugs, his eyes finding his boyfriend across the room. âAnyway, itâs nice not to be alone in it. As far as heâs concerned, youâre already his as well.â
For My Eyes Only
Sirius Black x Fem!Reader
Summary: In which you have a secret a certain Marauder wants to know, or more specifically, Sirius wants to get his hands on that diary you're always writing in.
Warnings: Parents divorcing, sad feelings but should be mainly fluff (also sort of, invasion of privacy? You'll see what I mean)
Word Count: 2.4k
A/N: I literally just finished this but I really loved this idea, although I started this oneshot months back but I never got back to it, due to which I forgot what the original plot was but I wrote this and I love it! I hope you like it too! Enjoy! <33
.¡:*¨¨* âââ *¨¨*:¡.
âWhy does L/n always have that book with her?â Sirius questioned one late autumn evening, as he sat with the boys who were all in sixth year now.
âWho?â Peter questioned clueless.
âL/n.â Sirius said, pointing across the room at you. You were too lost writing into your diary that you didnât realize the four biggest mischievous boys at Hogwarts were talking about none other than you. Sirius had noticed that since the beginning of the school year, you always wrote in your journal in the evenings.
âLeave Y/n be, Padfoot.â Remus commented, âLet Y/n be at peace.â
âHey, I was just curious, thatâs all!â Sirius exclaimed, appalled.
Remus rolled his eyes, âAnd we all know how that goes.â This earned a deep chuckle from James, making Sirius glare at him.
âShut up.â
Sirius returned his gaze to you, watching you scribble into your diary with a fond smile. He knew you through Lily Evans and you two were sort of friends, but as he gazed at you writing away in that y/f/c journal, he knew that he wouldnât rest until he got his hands on it. After all, once Sirius Black was intrigued, he was unstoppable.
*â§ď˝Ľďž: *â§ď˝Ľďž:
You were writing away in your diary, pouring out all your heart. The happy things, the sad things, the in between things. That is until you felt a shadow loom over you, and you hastily snapped your diary shut and turned around. Sirius groaned, his shoulders slumping in defeat, as he was not able to get a glance of the page, before he masked that behind his confidence.
"Hey there, L/n. What are you writing in that little thing?"
You felt your cheeks heat up before you cleared your throat, standing up with an air of determination.
"That Sirius is for my eyes only, and not your business." You gave him a sweet smile and walked away, leaving Sirius gazing after your retreating figure.
"Run all you want Y/n but you can't escape me."
*â§ď˝Ľďž: *â§ď˝Ľďž:
âHey, pretty girl.â
You flinched at the new voice, cheeks warming as the words registered in your head. You turned to find Sirius sitting beside you, his hand cradling his chin as he winked at you.
âYou wouldnât mind having me as your Potions partner, would you, darling?â
You blinked owlishly, your heart fluttering at the name. âWhy me, Sirius?â
Sirius let out a loud and dramatic sigh, âWell you see dearest Y/n, Remus is mad at me for eating his chocolate.â Your gaze flickered to the desk behind you, the said boy clenching his jaw as he glared at Sirius. âAnd James has already partnered with Peter, on purpose too, I really hate him sometimes.â He muttered the last part as you turned to look at the back of the class, where James and Peter were seated together, James sticking his tongue out at his best mate to which Sirius flipped him off.
âSo that leaves me to sit with you. Plus youâre a intelligent and pretty girl.â Sirius finished, watching as you blushed.
âOh- Oh, I see.â You answered, eyes flying to the chalkboard as Slughorn began to speak, for which you were thankful for as anymore of Siriusâ teasing and your soul would leave your body.
Once the Potions Master had explained the lesson for the day, the class got to their feet as they were to prepare a potion.
âIâll got get the ingredients while you set up the cauldron.â You instructed, giving Sirius a gentle smile before walking away.
Sirius, with a sly grin playing on his lips, swiftly set up the cauldron, before slipping his hand into your bag. Once he found what he was looking for, he glanced your way and when he was sure you were still busy, Sirius cast alohomora on the lock and flipped open the journal to a random page.
Dear Diary,
I feel so hollow and empty. My parents are divorcing and worst of all, I have to live with my mother. She did love me once but ever since we all found out I was a witch, sheâs changed. My father's love never wavered and I really want to live with him but on his own, he can barely keep himself up financially, and I canât burden him with myself. Even though I recently got a job, it wonât be much help.
I return to school soon so with that I can at least breathe a sigh of relief, but I canât burden Lily and the girls with my problems either but at least Iâll be happy for the time being.
Until next time.
Love,
Y/n
Sirius felt his heart twist. You seemed to be such a great person and yet you were hiding so much behind that warm smile of yours. Sirius quickly locked the diary and closed your bag, straightening just in time for you to return to him.
âHere we are.â You stated, setting the supplies down on the table in front of the pair of you. âShall we start?â You gently asked, although cocking your head slightly to the side when Sirius didnât respond but was merely staring at you.
âSirius?â
He shook his head slowly. âHm, yeah, letâs start.â
Throughout the rest of the lesson, Sirius would gaze at you in thought from time to time, and his stomach twisted with small guilt for having read through your diary when it truly was private. But that incident merely intrigued the boy more about you.
*â§ď˝Ľďž: *â§ď˝Ľďž:
Sirius found himself thinking more about you over the next while, and knowing what you were going through, he began to spend more time with you. After all, he understood what it was like to not receive love from your own, and to be treated differently for not being like everyone else.
At first you had found it suspicious, just like you had in potions the other day, after all you had caught Sirius trying to read your personal diary before then. However you later on realized that Sirius was just trying to spend time with you, even if you were a bit baffled to as to why, because while the two of you were sort of friends, the pair of you had never spent much time together, so this was very new. But you went along with it, finding the time with Sirius enjoyable.
Sirius tried his best to make you laugh, relishing in the feeling when he heard your beautiful laughter, or smirking at you whenever he managed to make you blush with one of his pet names. However, it was that beautiful and captivating smile of yours that made him feel that his heart had stopped beating.
Merlin, what had started out as an attempt to read your diary after his curiosity had been piqued, led to Sirius being absolutely smitten with the beauty called Y/n L/n.
One late evening, after running away from Filch and having evaded detention, Sirius entered the common room only to find you fast asleep on the couch. His lips turned upwards at the sight and he walked over to your sleeping form, bending down in front of the couch as he admired you.
Realizing you had fallen asleep while attempting to complete a school assignment, Sirius very gently shook you by the shoulder, wanting you to sleep well in your bed rather than the couch whilst surrounded by your school textbooks and parchments and quills.
Your eyelids fluttered open at last, y/e/c coloured eyes flitting about as you blinked a few times, before your gaze landed on Sirius and it softened.
âSirius?â
âItâs me, love.â He answered, stroking your hair, âI hate waking you up but Iâd rather you go sleep in your bed, darling.â He told you, a very warm expression sitting upon his face.
You softly smiled, nodding as you lightly squeezed his hand in gratitude before standing up and trying to gather your things as quick as possible. Once done, you turned to Sirius and shot him your warm smile once again.
âGoodnight, Sirius.â
He returned the gesture.
âGoodnight, Y/n.â
You turned on your heels and began your ascension up the stairs leading to your dormitory. Sirius watched you go before he made a move to leave. However, something caught his attention from the corner of his eye and he halted.
There, lying tucked into one corner, was your diary.
Sirius glanced back at the stairs of the girls dormitory, before his grey eyes flickered back to the journal.
He knew he shouldnât but now he wanted to make sure if you were doing better.
So, letting his curiosity win over his guilt, Sirius once again, broke through your lock and flipped open onto your last diary entry. Nothing could have prepared the young Black for what he was about to read.
Dear Diary,
Things have been better but also sort of⌠weird? The good news is that perhaps I can move in with my father for when I return home for the summer.
Then thereâs also Sirius.
Heâs so sweet and kind, and although the flirting is constant, he makes me smile and I feel so happy around him.
At that, Sirius smiled to himself, glad he could brighten your days.
But, I donât know whatâs wrong with me, I think Iâm going mad. Sirius Black may as well be the death of me. He makes me feel things I shouldnât. He smiles at me, my stomach erupts with butterflies. He laughs, my heart flutters. He gives me a cheeky wink, I go weak in the knees. He licks his lips and I canât help but imagine how they would taste.
Oh Merlin, help me, I feel something thatâs more than friends for Sirius and itâs driving me insane. I canât afford to ruin everything with my feelings, I donât want to lose our friendship but my heart is making everything so much more hard.
Oh Godric, help me.
Iâll write again if Siriusâ charm doesnât claim my life before that.
Love,
Y/n
Sirius stared at the page in utter disbelief. He couldnât believe what he had just read. These were words written by you about how you felt regarding him. Sirius could not understand how such an amazing girl like yourself could feel about him like this.
Footsteps began to echo around the common room and in a panic, Sirius snapped shut the diary, head turning in time to find you walking back down the stairs.
When you had gone up to your dormitory, after rummaging through your bag, you came to the realization that you had left your diary back in the common room. What you had not expected was to find Sirius in the common room with your diary in his hand.
âSirius?â
âY/n.â He said, standing up. He watched you walk over to him, a nervousness setting onto your face.
âI left something here so-â
You cut off as Sirius wordlessly lifted his hand, holding your diary out which you gently took from him.
âThank you.â
You made a move to leave but Sirius caught your wrist, freezing you on the spot.
âTell me itâs not true.â He said, making you turn around with slightly rounded eyes.
âWhat?â
âTell me that what you wrote in your diary isnât true. Tell me you donât feel more for me than just friends.â
Your breath hitched in your throat.
âSirius, IâŚâ You sighed, âI canât.â You uttered out, watching Siriusâ eyes widen. âI canât lie to you. You make me feel so special and-â
You cut off as Sirius placed his lips on yours, pulling you close to himself by your waist. Your grip on your diary slackened and it fell to the floor with a thud, as your arms went to wrap themselves around his neck.
It was just as you had imagined but even better and it was just you and him, and it was just perfect.
You both finally pulled apart after minutes, panting as you pressed your foreheads together.
âGo out with me?â Sirius asked, icy grey eyes gazing lovingly into yours. Sirius melted upon seeing the biggest smile grace your lips at that question.
âOf course.â You replied before Sirius pulled you in for another kiss.
*â§ď˝Ľďž: *â§ď˝Ľďž:
Dear Diary,
It's crazy really that a few years have passed since I graduated out of Hogwarts with my best friends, we all have our own jobs and lives now, but what's even crazier is that I'm finally married!
Never would I have thought that one day I would be in love and happily married to Sirius Black. If someone had told my younger self that, I would have laughed at them.
The ceremony was today, a perfect day too with the sun shining down, a slight breeze, the bird chirping as Sirius and I exchanged our vows in the presence of our friends and family. I couldn't be happier.
You felt an arm wrap around your waist as someone placed their chin on your shoulder.
"What's my darling wife doing?"
You smiled at that.
Wife.
You were officially Sirius' wife.
The thought made you giddy.
"Ah." Sirius clicked his tongue, "You're writing in your diary."
You didn't reply but instead resumed scribbling on the page.
I'd love to write more but I'm afraid my very annoying husband is disrupting-
"Hey!" Sirius exclaimed in mock offence, "Since when did I become annoying?" He paused, a sly grin sliding onto his lips, "You don't complain when I'm giving you a kiss or more." He said, earning an eye roll from you but even Sirius could feel that you were merely hiding a smile.
I'd love to write more but I'm afraid my very annoying charming husband is disrupting, I believe he wants to go to bed, it's been a long day after all, but a day I would love to relive everyday if I could.
Love,
Y/n Black
"I still can't believe you took my last name."
You closed your diary, putting it away before turning around in Sirius' arms, your arms going to lock behind his neck.
"Of course I would." You lovingly answered, gazing at him with adoration, "It's a part of your identity and I would love nothing more than to be called Mrs. Black." You told him, placing a kiss on his cheek before looking back into his eyes.
Sirius looked at you with such love and tenderness that you melted.
"I love you so much, Mrs. Black."
Your lips turned up into a graceful yet enchanting smile.
"I love you too, Mr. Black."
James Potter x fem!reader
Summary: Finding out that your ex-best friend might have smelt you in the Amortentia feels as surreal as you smelling him.
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: harassment, non-consensual touching (non-sexual), insecurities
JAMES POTTER MASTERLIST
When you hear the door to the classroom swing open, slam into the wall, and as if on cue a chorus of laughs resound around the room, you know it's James and his imbecile friends.
Your lips thin into a tight-lipped smile as you send Marlene an exhausted look.
"Gentlemen," Slughorn drones on as he turns to look at the boys, who comedically trip over themselves to find their spots in the crowd of students, "You're late."Â
"Evidently, Professor." Sirius Black quips and nudges his shoulder into James. The latter smirks.
James has somehow found his way next to you. He hasn't done it on purpose but when he turns his head and sees you beside him, his smirk turns into a wide smile.
A smile that never fails to make your knees shake and your heart feel like it could explode.
"Y/n," James whispers.Â
"Hi Potter," you roll your eyes, hiding a smile behind faux frustration.
You and James aren't friends. Well, unless you counted the years from ages four to eleven, when you had been inseparable. You'd grown apart these last years and while you'd cried over your lost friendship in first year, you had decided it was for the best to distance yourself from him anyway.Â
Having a crush on your best friend is incredibly clichĂŠ.
Still, although you weren't friends in the same way as you had been, James has always been kind to you.
He says hello to you when he sees you in the hallway. You have had pleasant conversations in passing, and when his family occasionally has yours over â for old times sake â you both sit on the balcony outside his window and talk as if nothing has changed.Â
You shift away from James a little, feeling too close to him, and cross your arms. You turn your attention to Slughorn as he clears his throat and lifts the lid from the pot, "Very well then,"
His sentence is drowned out by the soft, delicate smell that fills the room. You pin-point the scent of broom-polish immediately. Rosemary, vanilla, bergamot and cedar. Your expression falls. Bergamot and cedar. Your head spins and you wonder if James put on too much cologne this morning or if âÂ
Your mind suddenly goes completely blank when you feel James's breath against your ear, uttering exactly what you had been wondering, but this time about you, "Hey, did you put on more perfume than usual? I can smell it from here," his voice is teasing and you feel just a little fainter than you already had been.Â
"Amortentia," Slughorn interrupts, "The most powerful love potion to exist. It smells differently to everyone, depending on what attracts them â or sometimes who attracts them," He continues on, explaining the dangers of the potion, but you aren't listening anymore.Â
You look up. James has gone quiet and he's staring at the bubbling liquid, a vacant look in his eyes. Your heart clenches and you turn your head, inclining it down. You must have heard him wrong. James must have been confused.
A pit forms in your stomach when James moves away from you, leaving your side feeling empty. You hear him laugh with Remus and your hand squeezes around your arms.Â
You hadn't worn any perfume this morning.
"Hey, Y/n/n," You're pulled from your thoughts when William, another Gryffindor, comes up from behind you and shoves into your shoulder so he's standing next to you.
"I knew I'd smell someone as hot as you in there," He teases, leaning in close. "Just like fucking vanilla," Williams brings his hand into your hair, twirling some strands in his fingers as he presses his nose close to your temple and inhales.Â
"Hey," You move your head away, feeling disgusted. William just barks out a laugh and his arm extends to grab yours. Suddenly, you're almost pushed to the side when James stands in front of you and shoves William away. The boy bumps into the cauldron and the Amortentia spills all over the floor.Â
"All three of you," Slughorn suddenly booms, his cheeks flushed crimson, "McGonagall. Now."
So you find yourself standing in the middle of James and William in McGonagall's office. The older woman is sitting at her desk, her arms crossed as she stares at you all from behind her small glasses. She looks at William first considering his shirt is drenched in the thick liquid from the Amortentia, "What happened?"
"Potter shoved me," Williams states quickly, glaring at James.
"And I'd do it again," James snarls, crossing his arms.Â
McGonagall looks utterly exhausted at their bickering and turns her attention to you. "What about you, Miss Y/l/n, care to explain what happened?"
William sends you a dark look, but when you look at James his expression is soft. "William made me uncomfortable in class and when James saw, he accidentally shoved him into the Amortentia and it spilled all over."
"It wasn't an accident! He did it on purpose!" William argues like a child and James sends him a knowing smirk.
"Oh yeah, the shove was intentional," he grins wolfishly, "Although, I didn't mean to knock the potion over, Minnie," James looks over at McGonagall and this time he looks a little sheepish. McGonagall just stares at him as if he has gone insane and then she looks at you.
"You can leave, Miss Y/l/n," she says and looks back at the boys and hums, "You two may not."
You glance at James a little nervously but he sends you a reassuring smile. So, you ignore William's loud complaining and thank McGonagall as you walk out of her classroom.
* * *
A few hours later, when you're walking out of the Great Hall after dinner, you and your friends run into James again. He's also with his friends, leaning against the wall, and they're laughing obnoxiously loud.
However, when James sees you his smile widens. "Ladies," he says, crossing his arms cheekily.
"Gentlemen," your lips curl into a smirk as you nod at Sirius, Remus, and Peter. James tilts his head at his friends, his expression quirking almost as if he's annoyed that you mentioned them and not him.Â
"You feeling okay?" James asks.Â
You stare at him, trying to understand exactly what he means.
Does he really care or is he only asking because he's in trouble because of you. Is it mocking?
You start to overthink and James can sense it. So, he moves a little closer to you and you can smell his cologne. It sends heat creeping up your neck.
He asks again. "After what happened with William," he whispers, "when he made you uncomfortable. Are you okay?" James looks genuine and you see his hand hesitating to touch your arm.
You look up at him, staring into his eyes, "O-Oh, yeah. I'm fine. I was just - I didn't think anyone would have smelt me in that potion," you laugh, rambling because that's what you do when you're nervous. You can see James's expression shift into a small smile.
"You'd be surprised," he says, rubbing his nape, "Hey, can we talk in private? I wanted to ask you something?"
Once you say yes, you find yourself in a small, empty, classroom with James. You lean against a desk, hand gripping the edge as you stare at him. "What's up?" you ask. James has never asked you to talk like this.
"My mum is having one of her family dinners for Christmas," James starts, "I wanted to invite you, personally," he adds, as if he's been rehearsing.Â
Usually, his mother will invite yours and then by proxy you'll show up. But, this is different. "You want me to come?" your eyebrow raises in confusion, "Personally?"
"Yeah," he sounds unsure, "I mean we're friends, right?"
Is that what we are, you want to ask him but you don't. "I didn't think we were friends anymore," You say honestly and James's expression falls.
He fiddles with his hands nervously but walks closer until he's directly in front of you. You lean away from him and into the desk, chin tilted up to look at him.Â
"I'm an idiot," he whispers, looking at you intensely, "I shouldn't have let you slip out of my hands like that. I, well, miss you, a lot."
You listen to him with harsh breaths, trying to understand where this all comes from and why now.
James's hand reaches out and hovers over your cheeks until he holds you and brings you closer to his face. Your eyes round. You're so sure he'll kiss you with how close you are and by the way he's looking at you. You don't have time to make up your mind if you'd want to kiss him or not, because instead, he guides your cheek to his chest and his arms wrap around you.Â
He crushes you into a hug.Â
Your breath escapes you in a sigh, "James?"
"Y/n," he says your name smoothly and soothes a hand down your hair, "You smell like vanilla and cinnamon. With just a hint of freshly-mowed grass, probably because whenever I see you after a Quidditch match you always have some grass in your hair, right here," James says in a whisper and his finger traces behind your ear.
"Usually from a small tumble," he adds, "You're so clumsy sometimes."Â Â
You pull away only to have him hold you closer.Â
"I can't keep pretending I don't think about you," he admits and that sends all emotions crashing over you. You stare at him, lips parted and eyebrows creased, as you try and understand the meaning behind the words. "I smelt you in the Amortentia," James admits.
"You smelt me? You're joking."
James suddenly frowns and he watches as you practically try and sink into the desk behind you. He can take a hint and he moves away. "What? No?"Â
You feel your cheeks burn hot with embarrassment. "You aren't joking?"
James's face softens and he smiles. "Of course I'm not â I smelt you and also your perfume which," his smile turns into a smirk, "I can tell you aren't wearing right now." James chuckles happily, his eyes crinkling in the corners and your heart flutters. "Merlin I gave myself away in that classroom, didn't I, love?"Â
Your insides become mush at the nickname and you find yourself nodding.Â
James looks at you fondly even when he says, "I understand if you don't feel the same. If I'm not the boy you like or a boy you want. I have been a foolish ass for the majority of our time here at school. I've ignored you and worse than that, I let myself forget how lucky I was to have you as my friend and I'm so sorry."
As you hear his words, you can feel tears brim in your eyes. James's fond smile disappears and he starts to panic. "Hey, hey, hey!" his hands cup around your cheeks without even thinking. "I don't want to make you cry, love. Y-you're okay," he promises frantically.Â
James is so close. His cologne has invaded your senses until you can't think clearly. All you can do is lean in closer until your nose brushes his. James is surprised but when he looks into your eyes, his body relaxes as he understands what you want. You like to think it's all the years you were friends that makes it so easy for James to understand.
"You want me to kiss you?" he whispers, his voice husky and low.
You feel warm all over as his arm slides behind you and he holds your lower back, waiting for a yes so he can pull you closer. You nod, smiling. You wonder if I have to tell him he's the one you smelled in the potion or if he'll understand by the way you kiss him.Â
James's lips press onto yours. He's testing the waters, making sure he's not moving too quickly or too slowly. You let your hand find his hair as you pull him closer. James's hand wraps around you and in the passion, he hoists you up onto the desk behind you and you pull him in.
You kiss him like you've never kissed anyone and it takes your hand on his chest to snap James back into reality. He gently disconnects your lips and leans his forehead on yours.
His eyes are still closed when he says, "Shh, we have all the time in the world. I don't plan on letting you slip away from me again, Y/n," he says it like a promise. Like a prayer.Â
Finally, you speak, "James. I missed you," you admit in a whisper.Â
James holds you closer. "I missed you more. You don't know how much you mean to me."Â
You laugh, feeling how close he is and how badly he doesn't want to drop your hand. "I think I can guess," you say teasingly.
James shakes his head. "My love goes beyond any words I could possibly muster."Â
You stare at him with a raised eyebrow. "Since when is James Potter such a hopeless romantic?"Â
James grins, his hand sliding down to your thigh as he draws soothing circles on your skin, "He's always been a romantic, darling. He just hasn't had the chance to show you," he whispers and quickly kisses the tip of your nose.Â
"Well, he can start now," you smile.
James nuzzles his nose into your shoulder. "So, does this mean that we're friends again?"
You pull away and send him a playful look. "Can this mean we're more than friends now?"
James looks into your eyes and deep in his brown ones, you can see his sincerity, "We'll be whatever you want, love," he says. He hugs you close and your face is buried in his neck. You sniff, your smile widening.
You whisper into his neck, "Bergamot and cedar."
James chuckles, still holding you, "What was that, love?"
"Nothing," you smile, simply content with holding him.Â
