If Sirius was Tom’s son wouldn’t the bloodwards not work since it’s tied to the black blood line? Or would Tom be able to break in since he shares the same blood as Sirius? I’m convinced either Sirius or Regulus are Tom’s biological children.

Don’t purebloods check to see if the child is there’s though? Sort of like a DNA test but a magical one. It seems like something a pureblood would do to ensure their blood line is pure.

I also had a question with the whole mixing Harry’s blood with his. What does that mean? DNA wise would Harry still be a Potter or Black or would he be a Potter and a Black? I’m not sure if you plan to write next gen but wouldn’t that make Albus and Scorpius sort of like cousins? Or blood related? Unless you plan on killing off all the Malfoy’s which I’m all here for 😝

These are a lot of questions in response to my “interesting.”

So, I’ll answer the questions broadly.

Blood wards: IF someone unknowingly shared blood with the person trying to break into a house who cast the blood wards, they would be pretty useless. The wards would crumble in a matter of seconds. They would not be very effective.

DNA Tests: I don’t believe they would. If there was a slip up, they wouldn’t want anyone to know so their lines could remain “pure”. I bet none of the pureblood family lines are actually 100% pureblood. I can’t see them seeking out testing every single baby born in the family to make sure there were no affairs or anything. It would dwindle the blood lines even more. Ignorance is bliss after all! Now, if they know for sure a blood line was tainted (i.e. Andy and Ted), they would prune that branch. But I don’t think there would be any purebloods left if they actually tested the DNA.

Mixing Blood: If Sirius went through with the ritual to make Harry a Black, Harry would be both a Potter and a Black. It would add blood to him, not take any away. In a sense, yeah, Albus and Scorpius would be distantly related because Harry would have Black blood in him.

Hey again everyone! I would super love some volunteers to do even short podfics (like literally under 3k) or to team up with me on a small fic (5-10k?), if anyone is up for it! I would be more than happy to talk people through it, answer questions, be available, show you how to edit, give light critique if asked for.... do a first round of editing and make sure you know what I did so you can do it next time.... :) Stuff like that!

I’m not talking now, not really, it you’re wanting to take me up on the more demanding aspects of that offer—it IS the holidays, we’re all stressed and grumpy from varying levels of C-word exhaustion, and I need to remind myself not to do too much or my disabilities will catch right up and lay me out flat for days.....

But I’d just love to hear if anyone’s interested! It’s not a firm commitment, you can back out anytime, whatever, and not a single person would think less of you because this really puts you out there!!!..... but I’d really love more offers of readers, not just writers (or you can read your own fic, plenty do!). That’s what makes a community what it is, eh? :)

If you could pick one of your, preferably, complete (or at least a fair number of chapters in and being updated) fanfics that you would like to have a podfic made out of... which would it be?

I’d love to create a list of works where authors have given permission to podfic their fics, whether short or long, and to contribute to the new Reylo Podfic Collection!

This here is a promo post for the collection itself, with a little audio example of me speaking; fittingly, a call to the community for more podfics!

It’s easy to be a podficcer; nothing special is needed and I’m happy to provide tips for simple podficcing! In fact I sorta ramble about my process here in this Answered Ask and include 3 basic tutorials.

But I’d love to use this tumblr thread as a.... thought exercises, I suppose, and permission, too, for people to podfic your work.

I’ll go first! ...... Whether I get to it first or someone claims it.... I’d love my Force!Pregnancy, post-TFA fic, Delicious Ambiguity, approximately 24.7k words, to be brought to audible life! ❤️

I have also podficced Devotion by @perrydowning and am working on all 144k of The Escort by @grlie-girl !

While I do do podficcing for Marvel... it just makes me want to so so much more Reylo stuff! There’s so few pieces out there compared to the bevy of Marvel stuff, but honestly, every time there’s a new (Reylo) podfic—it breathes new life back into the fic, the author, the ship, the fandom..... plus you personally feel awesome for the performance high and for bringing a smile to the writer’s face. That’s the best thing ever and I adore doing it, no matter how ‘simple’ the podfic may be.

Mutiple podfics are flattering to the author but some podficcers really don’t like to be ‘one of many’. Absolutely valid. You can even create a placeholder AO3 ‘podfic’ and link it as inspired by said fic, so people can see that it’s being worked on... as long as permission has been granted first, or course, sillies! :)

** Although an unconventional fic format, this fic can certainly be podficced by using (1) different tones of voice for thoughts, fic summaries, different sorts of text, and/or (2) different tones of pings/chimes/whatever for the text messages from different characters, and/or (3) adding in an extra line of, for example: *ping* “text message from thekyloren reads as follows…” OR (4), if you want to get fancy, you could have some friends assist you by recording any of the messages from ‘their’ character. That would be a lot of fun, in fact! Another option is (5) where you would split your recordings and give an audible indication to read the message, followed again by a new audio file, etc. Only problem with this approach is if there are too many breaks in the audio and you end up going from one to the other too many times in a row.
