As a Sabo fan, I loved the last chapters. I just love seeing him back in the canon.
It seems Oda created a morally grey character and I like him for that reason.
The newspaper claimed Sabo killed King Cobra. We even got a picture of Sabo next to Cobra's body.
When he discovers the picture, Sabo seems shocked. He hates that situation. You can see it.
He hates the lies, he hates the accusation. He hates everything about his new fame.
He also doesn't like his new title. He's not a pirate, pirates like their nicknames. He's someone else. He wants to be perceived as Sabo.
Besides, it might also be also related to Ace, because Flame Emperor was his most powerful attack...
He's a person in flesh and blood, not some hero. Yet he is. He is one because he invaded Mary Geoise, he freed many people and he burnt the flag.
He feels wrong for what happened to Cobra. An assassination isn't a right thing to do. You destroy a life and many people's hopes and dreams.
Because Kings and Queens are seen as Gods in the world. Those people are untouchable. So they are somehow immune because of the system and the idea we see of them.
If you touch someone like that, you break something. You make Kings and Queens look like average humans.
That's why killing a King brings a new side in people. People will dare to do things they don't usually. Cobra is sadly a necessary death.
That's why Sabo is fine with taking responsibility. Even though Dragon and Iva also didn't like it when they discovered it, they understand the means.
People will wake up because it's time to be themselves, to live for themselves. Not for more powerful people.

>Join a union
>Hear people constantly complaining that the current union leadership is super corrupt, it's all just the same ten guys making all the decisions in secret and nobody else in the union ever gets to know what's going on
>Go to the monthly union meetings that are completely open to all 1200 union members
>The only attendees are the same ten guys every month, giving detailed reports about everything that's going on

There seems to be a general malaise on most of Tumblr about TikTok getting banned in the United States.
I understand the problems, "brain rot", whatever but- A government banning a social media app that opened the world for many people is legitimately scary and upsetting. Say what you want but, there are MANY global and local issues that would not have gotten the same traction, recognition, and outreach without TikTok.
And then add to this that Meta/Facebook was one the largest lobbyists working to get TikTok banned... Like- I think folks should be more concerned about the implications of what this means, especially since the ban goes into effect the day before inauguration.

we need to step away from viewing marriage as inherently romantic, or the primary goal of romance. marriage is a legal contract we use to create important ties--financial, medical, next-of-kin, mediating shared property and parental rights. the details vary a lot based on where you are and what paperwork you sign. which is not very romantic! but it does have many real-world effects on our ability to share our lives with our partners.
first and foremost, marriage is a legal right we use to build and protect our families, whatever that family may look like

this post is fearmongering. the results of this study are concerning and should definitely be a matter of public discussion, but this is certainly not the conclusion the researchers came to.
the point of the study was to assess the risks of exposure to toxic metals- something one of the co-authors notes are “ubiquitous” fwiw- via menstrual products. Their research confirmed that these metals are indeed present in tampons, but no further conclusions are drawn. it is possible the metal entered into the cotton from the soil, which is a well-known phenomenon; cotton is so good at lifting heavy metals that it has actually been suggested as a part of the solution for revitalizing polluted ground.
the authors conclude with an acknowledgement that the study should be repeated- their sample size was 60 tampons- and a suggestion that further testing ought to be done to indicate whether or not these metals can even leech out of the tampon in the first place, let alone whether or not such leeching could occur at levels deleterious to human health.
there is, in fact, a body of research- too small, for sure, but much larger than this single study- indicating that long-term proper tampon use has no observable negative impact on health. i am grateful and thrilled that more research is being done and i hope that this study is the first of many on this line of questioning, but i am really frustrated at this post and the response it got.
obviously, if this study alters your approach to menstrual health, more power to you. consumers should be informed-risk-takers, and menstrual health is double-obviously a very personal choice. but it definitely wasn't the researchers concluding that you ought to “avoid using tampons at all cost," only this tumblr user did. the lead author of the paper, in fact, specifically says that she hopes people do NOT panic about the results.
(the notes of the post were disappointing. people affirming that they knew they were right to be suspicious of tampons all along, or even recommending alternatives that actually have very little to no research regarding the safety of long-term use, etc. it’s a different conversation, but categorical distrust of tampons is old-school misogyny. you certainly shouldn't wear them if you don’t want to, but there is nothing inherently scary or wrong about them, and people who prefer them are not being reckless or crass.)
((if you're really worried about exposure to heavy metals, you may want to turn a critical eye to fast fashion, as an aside))
