The guy with the voice of an angel and a heart of pure gold.

The guy the whole world wants to sleep with…

Peeta Mellark could make anyone‒anyone in the whole world, she’s sure‒swoon just by crooning a few notes in that honeyed baritone of his. He could liquify a girl into a puddle at his feet just by calling her ‘honey,’ ‘baby,’ ‘sweetheart,’ or her personal favorite, she thinks sarcastically, ‘Kid.’ Those blond waves, blue eyes, dimples, and boy-next-door good looks have surely broken a million hearts.

But hers came first.

And she will always and forever know him, not as Peeta Mellark the famous singer, but as Peet, the slightly nerdy boy from the church choir.

Summary: When Peeta Mellark returns to his small hometown as a famous singer, Katniss Everdeen, a music publicist, becomes responsible for handling his tour. And he asked for her, personally. Although Peeta Mellark is handsome and charming, it should be no problem for a professional like her, except she’s never actually spoken to him before-and she’s always wanted to.

The Selection and The Hunger Games

Okay so I was a very YA obsessed middle schooler. Like it was all I read.

One thing I noticed are that the Hunger Games and the Selection are essentially the same and I know this sounds insane but hear me out --

We have:

two corrupt governments

there are rebels

two sixteen year old girls who meet their love interests secretly

they are both chosen for competitions

competitions where people from each province/district are taken to the capital of the corrupt nation

and they have to win a prize

by fighting to the death (literally and metaphorically)

there is media coverage, interviews, it's made into a reality show

appearances are super important, they're made into performers

the two girls are both the favorites because of their rebellious natures

they fall in love with blonde boys instead of their sweethearts back home

both girls sing

the contestants all become heavily suspicious of one another, can't trust each other, form fake alliances, etcetera.

one is a competition for love one is a competition of war

AND APHRODITE, GODDESS OF LOVE IS IN LOVE WITH ARES, THE GOD OF WAR (because of course your girl has to make this about greek mythology BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS ABOUT GREEK MYTHOLOGY)

THEREFORE.

Sitting in the hovercraft she repeated her speech like a mantra, not believing her own luck. Or the other’s stupidity. So far her plan had worked. They believed her when she said they had to find a way to show Peeta how they turned his district to ashes. They were excited, even, about filming another propo, about getting her on board with the rebel propaganda.

They believed her lie.

“I’m going to my home to get some stuff for my mother”, she said after her filming was done, the sentence coming out a little stiff for her liking because after all, she had never been a good actress. Cressida was luckily focused on Gale’s next shot, so she just smiled at her and Katniss made her way to the Victor Village, where the most important part of her plan had to take place. Soon she found her house and rushed inside, anxious steps taking her upstairs to her room. The white flower was still there. Unnatural and beautiful.

Katniss did what she had planned from the moment her mind wrapped around her situation and she repeated her speech word by word, exactly as she had practiced countless times inside her head.

“I know you’re monitoring this place. I know you can see and hear me, President Snow. I need to speak to you.”

She repeated this sentence five times, like she had planned. It was a random number, but logically it should be enough time for someone to reach him and also to keep her rebel crew from suspecting she was doing anything else but grabbing stuff for the medical wing.

The next part of her speech wasn’t planned. She had the basic idea, but the words flowed like a river before she could control them.

“You don’t want Peeta. You never thought he had anything to do with this. You want me. I’m the one that pulled the berries. I’m the one that shot an arrow at your force field. I’m the one that the districts follow. I’m the spark you want to quench with your first, I’m the songbird you want to drown in your poison. It’s me they are waiting to see crumble, not him. I’m the one that you need. The one that you want. The mockingjay you can’t silence.”

With a deep breath, she spoke her next words almost in a whisper.

“And you can have it all. You can have me”, a pause, “Let Peeta go without harm and you can take me. Release Peeta, president Snow, and I’m yours”

All that was left was waiting. And she hated it.

As an Everlark shipper, something about Travis kind of having a crush on 1989 Taylor and “tell me about the first time you saw me” gives off Peeta Mellark falling for Katniss’s voice and having a crush for 11 years. Both of them leaving the girls gagged when they had the chance

Her father just knows that something is happening.

The way the boy looks at the girl while he is negotiating the price of game meat with the baker. Always pretending like he's doing something else, just to look at her more closely.

Or how Katniss take off the cap and redo her braid every time on they are in thw way to the bakery.

He just knows very well what is happening there, remembers his romance with a merchant girl years ago.

Then, thinking that the boy is intimidated by seeing Katniss always accompanied by her father, he starts sending her alone to sell the squirrels. Then ask "how was on there"

"normal..." Katniss replies with a shrug, without understanding the reason for the question.

And he gives a small smile, which leaves Katniss even more confused. The truth is that that old hunter realizes much earlier than she does that the boy has a crush on his daughter.

And he takes immense pleasure in seeing her slowly realize it too. Watching the two go from acquaintances to friends, and slowly, to lovers.

It's funny because Peeta, that boy raised with good manners, makes a point of talking to Katniss' father after she agrees to date him.

"I'm Peeta Mellark, sir." he says, with a firm voice and a strong handshake. Well, he doesn't really know what he's doing. He's only 17 and she is his first girlfriend, but he's trying to do it right. He doesn't want to ruin everything.

"Oh, yes. Katniss's boyfriend, Am I right?" he says with a wide smile.

"Oh, stop treating me like I'm not here" Katniss crosses her arm in embarrassment. "I feel like a goat for sale in the market"

She prefers it when everything is more relaxed, for example when Peeta comes to dinner with them on a Sunday.

He sits at the Everdeens' table and watches everyone share a bowl of rabbit stew. It's not much, but Katniss's father offered little to Peeta as well. Peeta is so grateful.

It's his first time with a "real family". With love, with communion, with laughter at dinner time.

So he is always invited again, every Sunday. Peeta brings bread and cakes to share too. Brings sweets that Prim always wanted to try, brings yeast that Mrs. Everdeen needs for some medicines, brings cheese buns for Katniss. This causes him some ear tugging and pinching from his mother, but he doesn't even care anymore.

Because every end of the night Katniss' father picks up the guitar and teaches Peeta some old songs. It's funny because he's a terrible and out of tune singer, especially compared to the Everdeens. It makes Katniss and Prim laugh, but Peeta could never feel happier.

Because everyone makes such a great effort to make him feel at home. It's no surprise when Katniss and Peeta get married they move near her family.

It's satisfying for Katniss's father to see Peeta stop calling him 'Sir' and refer to him as a friend, because that's what they become.

My most controversial Everlark Headcanon is…

Something about Katniss being a good singer and Peeta being a good artist but Peeta does his art publicly (cakes, paintings, even his camo in the Games) because he likes sharing it and making people happy but Katniss keeping her talent close to herself and only really doing it for people she loves and only really doing it in public by accident as a consequence of doing it for people she loves (singing to Rue in the Games, singing The Hanging Tree on camera) and how they balance each other out

I like to think that because of Damian’s upbringing he can do a load of random little skills, so here I present….

Things that Damian can do because I said so!! :

• He can rollarskate

• He’s great at SFX makeup ( think Peeta in THG )

• He can knit, sew and crochet. ( he refuses to use a sewing machine and exclusively sews by hand)

• He can fight completely blind.

• He can make a poison out of any number of ingredients in any environment.

• He’s a great singer but only likes to sing with his Mother and gets embarrassed when singing around others. ( He always sings in the shower)

• He knows several different ways to shuffle cards.

• He is crazy good at fake crying and scares the shit out of everyone when he starts.

• He knows the appropriate attire for any event in every culture ( except in America strangely enough because his instructor said “Anything goes over there, bloody insane those Yanks are!”. ) So he mainly sticks to slacks and a black turtleneck to be safe.

•He can yodel

• He can copy any bird call.

• Has a extensive knowledge of veterinary medicine.

• He’s great at rolling ciggs ( and 🍃 ) he discovers this talent in college.

• Skilled nail artist ( he and Cass get together and do eachothers nails every Saturday evening.)
