Daniel stood before the chanting crowd strumming the last note of the song , shooting them a wide beaming smile as they got louder and louder, turning to take a drink of water before moving the chair he's been sitting on for the previous set to the side as one of the stage crew took it back and another one brought him a microphone stand .

He took it with a light thank you before moving along the catwalk with his guitar slung over his shoulder . The crowd stood in confusion as they thought it was the end of the show but nevertheless they couldn't complain , they kept chanting as he reached the centre of the small platform at the end , setting the mic and looking around the arena in awe , he gave another smile before speaking " I hope everyone enjoyed their night" pausing as they erupted in a loud wave of cheers "you seem like you did !" Then he took the mic out of the stand turning to every section as he spoke " the past few months were a wild ride with you guys , every stop exceeded our expectations and every night we do our best to bring out our best performance for you to enjoy the shows , and we're thankful and deeply grateful for the love and support and patience we got back and tonight isn't less than the first , tonight we pack our bags for the last time on this tour and hopefully we'll see you again " he paused as they cheered in a mix of sadness and joy but kept going " with new places to go , new faces to meet , new memories to make , and definitely new tattoos to get " laughing along with the crowd as he joked " I definitely have few more places left somewhere for few more ...." Taking a deep breath as the laughter died down " but that's for the next time , and right now before we leave you I have one more thing to say , one more last song to sing before we say goodbye for now . This one is very personal to me , and I'm thankful for my dear friend Ed for not blocking my midnight drunk calls and for helping me finishing it on time to share it here with you " he stepped back , adjusting his guitar as he turned back to the band on stage giving them a thumbs up before turning to the crowd before him strumming his guitar " MA Lune , this one is for you" .

Letting the music carry his mind away in a memory as he start singing............

Five months ago as he made his way down the street heading to meet some of his old friends for some drinks instead of coping himself in his apartment . keeping his head down he made his way through the semi crowded street stopping at a sign he adjusted his cap before looking around him then across the street as the sign turned green , but paused in his step as he saw her , she stood there across the street from him wearing her favourite jacket with her hair down framing her face as it fell in soft waves her smile is bright and captivating , she turned to the man beside her that Danny didn't seem to notice before, his arm going around her shoulders, holding her close as he said something that made her laugh, nodding along as she smiled widely, a kind of smile that's more happier than he ever saw on her face , or so he thought, he stood there watching them as the moved to doors of a bar getting in and disappearing from his view . Leaving him in the now empty sidewalks lost in his thoughts as he whispered to himself " she looks happier "

He shook his head as he sang the pre-chorus , trying his best to not get lost in the memory

Taking a deep breath before giving his all with the chorus aided by the band playing in the back as he went on ,

And until then, I'll smile to hide the truth

Her remembered how he sat in dressing room backstage after every show , with the adrenaline rush gone the memories haunt him , no matter where he looked everything reminded him of her ,and how he dreaded returning home because everyone corner brought back memories after memories of her , the clothes , the pictures on his phone, his jacket that you liked the most , his hat sitting on top of one of the tables , the rings that she gifted him back then that he still wearing, everything took him back to her . Even the empty bottle in his hand taunting him as he thought of her , but he kept telling himself that "she's happier now . Aren't she?"

He took a look around at the crowd to distract himself as he sang , before he looked up at the VIP boxes on the upper stands on the left side of the stage , his eyes stung as he saw her standing there , or he thought he did see her , he couldn't tell anymore , her face haunted his thoughts now it's haunting his wake , but he fixed his gaze upon her as he sang sorrowfully

But ain't nobody need you like I do

I know that there's others that deserve you

He closed his eyes to prevent his tears from falling but his voice cracked but he refused to stop

"But I guess you look happier, you do

My friends told me one day I'll feel it too

I could try to smile to hide the truth

But I know I was happier with you "

He moved his guitar to sling it on his back again as he held the mic and sang the last part softly. keeping his eyes closed with a heartbreaking sad smile "

I knew one day you'd fall for someone new

But if he breaks your heart like lovers do

Just know that I'll be waitin' here for you"

He stepped back as the crowd gave an earthshaking applause , all cheering and clapping as he took the last bow , wiping his tears as he gave a final thank to the crowd and the team working on stage and backstage wishing everyone a goodnight before rushing backstage in a haste to get out . Locking himself in his dressing room as soon as he stepped in , leaving his manager and crew behind but they understand how it breaks his heart , how that song broke his heart but it's his only way to get it off his chest , even if meant to hurt like hell , he did it . But oh, if he only knew , only if he looked once more , just one more glance up .

Back on the stand she stood there stunned as people moved on their way to leave , she was frozen with tears streaming down her face holding her hand on her chest as her heart squeezed in agony , she convinced herself as she bought the tickets that she'd be strong enough to see him again, even if he didn't see her , even he didn't know she was here , but she was wrong , she knew she was wrong the moment he called the name he gave her , the name he loved to call her with , and her heart shattered as looked up and locked eyes with her , she swore she saw his eyes water as he kept his eyes on her as he sang ever so softly and so heartbreakingly to her , but she was too far in her head to notice how he disappeared back stage , how she's left there standing on her own as the world around her moved on .

It took her a while to whisper to herself in a broken voice " but I'm not , I'm not happier without you" .

It’s little less than half an hour before midnight when they find each other again. She had been dancing with Rachel and for a little even with Lando to the metallic electronic music that reigned the dance floor. She had found anonymity between the crowded dancing bodies, the predominant darkness and eventual light flashes. Rachel was happy jumping and swaying her hips to the music. Anna was hot and thirsty, with little signs she told her friend and Lando she’d be out for a bit. Rachel’s arm around Lando’s neck told her she might not be missed. Mikah was nowhere to be found.

Anna found Max leaning in a corner alone, tending the last remains of a drink, stealing glances to the crowd where he imagined she was still dancing. Instead of the drink she had been craving she decided to indulge into catching him alone.

“Hey there stranger,” she greeted as she held her hair up while fanning herself with her free hand. He startled for a second, not expecting her.

“Gave it all on the dance floor?” he retorts quickly gaining back his composure, glancing the long lines of her neck. She laughs easily, something flutters within him.

“Didn’t see you there though,” she adds brushing her hair down to the side. “Did you forget the little moves I taught you?” she asks cheekily.

“Were you looking for me?” Max counters not answering hers, stepping a bit closer.

“Maybe,” she answers in a singsong voice, glancing up at him, her hands feeling fidgety. They stare directly shamelessly into each other’s eyes. And Anna folds, when she begins to feel the blush covering her face.  “Congratulations are in order I’ve been told,” she offered, not wanting the awkwardness of silence to settle between them. When they were together, she had found much comfort in his silence, because then she could read him like a magazine. Now she dreaded it, they weren’t that comfortable. Yet, something within her added.  He nodded without giving much, like he would often do when he was uncomfortable. Yet his eyes never left her, studying her. She had to force herself for the tenth time, to stop a hand from brushing a wild lock from his eyes. “I wanted to call you,” she heard herself say, “... to congratulate you”. His eyes had been scanning her fidgety hands, turned back to hers surprised at the admission. She smiled sheepishly, perhaps she had learned something from his boldness.

“Why didn’t you?” he asked encouraged by her brashness, eyes curious. He felt himself return to his 22-year-old self, looking for her opinion and approval of nothing and everything.

“I thought … you might not want to hear from me,” she continued, eyes on each other. She hadn’t drunk that much to blame the alcohol of her honesty.

“I didn’t for a while after we-” he confessed nodding, eyes dropping without ending the phrase, his eyes revealing that he had been as burned as her for the sudden break-up.  “I did though,” he added, noticing she had left for a moment a flash of something he didn’t like in her eyes passing through, wanting to bring her back to him. She frowned confused. “I wanted to hear from you when I won,” he continued, gaining a slow grin making its way over her face.  

“Then congratulations Max, I was -  am -  very happy for you,” she said fondly, her hand squeezing his arm, eyes locked together. Someone accidentally pushed her forward as the crowd began to assemble near the screen that kept the count down. Max let something slip in dutch, as he turned them, arms protectively around her waist. “That wasn’t very nice” she said as she helped herself with his arm to settle, not letting him go. He laughed openly, slight blush covering his cheeks.

“Have you been practicing?” he asked, leaning into her ear, leaving goosebumps. She laughed back, taking a little of distance, to be able to see his face, hoping her blush could be attributed to something other than him.

“I could never forget all the curse words you’ve taught me,” she says back nudging him fondly with her elbow. It’s strange.

“I heard also that you might make an appearance at the races this season?” he continued, leaning again closer to her, his arm sliding around her waist softly, more confidently as he notices she’s not rejecting to be this close. She nodded, eyes slipping to his lips.

“They’ll announce next week I think,” she replied absently, her mind taking her back to how well his lips had worked with hers. For some reason she can’t seem to gather why she had wanted to stay in the dance floor before.

“Lucky us,” he added leaning closer, his lips touching softly the shell of her ear, as his arm surrounding her waist slightly tightens his hold on her. One of her hands has made its way over his chest. His whole focus is on her, his eyes not letting her look away.   

“Anna! There you are!” Mikah pushed, with excuses, to the fancy people he bumped to get to them. Anna noticed then that during the interim they had been pushed slowly away from where they had first bumped into each other near the bar, and the crowd has thickened.  “Champagne darling!”, he gave her a glass carrying another for himself and a third one presumably for Rachel. “Where’s Rache?” he asked, quickly giving a quick glance at Max’s arm still casually holding her waist, as his thumb absently brushed her lower naked back.

“Dancing with Lando I think,” she answers, glancing at Max for confirmation, who nods.

“Do you want it mate?” Mikah asked offering the third champagne glass, Max thanks him. “Ten minutes ‘til 12!” he announces walking back into the crowd not before giving Anna a shameless wink.

Comfortable silence settles as they both take an automatic sip from the flutes.

“Do you want to be in the middle of it?” He asks when they notice the screens show a couple of minutes left for the arrival of the New Year without any of their friends nearby.

“Not really,” she confesses and he takes it as direction to take them farther back to the gardens. Close enough to see the celebrations but not to be tripped and pushed by the thickening crowd. He notices her shivering, his hand now fully brushing her cold back. He doesn’t think much before taking off his jacket. Offering silently his jacket to her, Anna hesitates. He doesn’t. Before she could say anything, she was engulfed in his cologne and warmth. It took a big part of her self-control to smell it shamelessly, she had always loved his cologne and he hadn’t changed it. She takes it gratefully, warmth welcome. She indulges after few seconds, into taking in his cologne, eyes closing mechanically. When she opens up, his pleased face is taking her in.

The countdown begins.

10, 9, 8…

She’s taken into his arms, lips finding themselves easily. Her hands scratch the back of his neck as he opens his lips, tongues teasing. It’s both new and familiar at the same time.

They break, eyes closed, arms not willing to let go. He nips her lips again shortly, teasing her into a second kiss. Her hands touch softly his cheeks, as his press her lower back into him. The second is more urgent than the first. His lips battling hers, a moan escapes her and his fingers tighten his grip on her.

“We-“ she begins but Max interrupts kissing her again, one of his hands guiding her neck into leaning so he can continue kissing the edge of her face, into her neck. His nose nuzzles under her ear before steamily kissing where her collarbone meets her neck. Her fingers return to the back of his neck, scratching him slightly, probably leaving red marks.

He only gets a second of clarity of where they are, enough to break from her. Her dozed molten honey eyes meet him confused. He arranges his jacket over her shoulders, glancing around for witnesses but most people are well into the celebrations. He’s drunk on her but not enough to forget that even though nor camaras are allowed in, gossip is just as harmful and she always gets the worse end of the stick.

It takes them a few minutes of walking as quickly as her heels will allow her before they find an empty coat room. They stumble inside, lips meeting once again.

His coat drops quickly on the floor as his hands take their time to explore freely.

“Max,” she mutters as she battles his tie. He humms in response as he resumes kissing her neck ‘til he gains a moan in return and she presses her hips to him. His hands have raised the end of tight dress over her hips, his fingers rushing to find the top of her stockings.

“We shouldn’t,” she mutters absently as he takes a knee to put the last working brain cells into lowering her stockings. He stops, hands falling away from their mission, eyes looking up at her confused. She bites her lip, shutting down her sabotaging brain as she helps him with the stockings. He stands kicking her shoes away, more hesitant than before. His eyes capture hers.

“You sure?” he asks his eyes looking for uncertainty in hers. She answers kissing him, bringing out the urgency once again from him. Her fingers open a few buttons of his shirt, his hands softly and carefully finding her centre. She loses focus for a second and his fingers getting reacquainted with her folds, she raises one of her legs, supporting herself with the furniture. She releases his belt easily, pressing her hand to the tightness of his pants. He pushes her hands away for leverage, pushing two fingers into her. “Fuck!” he breaths out when he notices how wet she already is. She moans in approval as he begins to touch her slowly, eyes closed, hand on his neck helping herself with balance. His fingers leave her, making her open her eyes in confusion just to see him lick his fingers. She kisses him then, tasting herself through him, while she finishes to push his pants down, his shaft bouncing free.

They giggle like little kids when he almost makes them fall through the coat rack trying to push into her. The kiss sloppily as they touch as if it was the first time they’d been in this situation. Finally, she turns her back to him, hands grabbing the rails, pushing her hips back. His hands stroke her naked cheeks pushing them apart, lining himself with her. He slowly slides into her as he flushes her naked back to him. For a moment they stay quiet and still, savouring the feeling of fulness, ‘til she moves her hips asking him without words to move, which he does.

It's not a conscious decision but as he pushes in and out, she notices a small mirror that allows her to see his face. His eyes are shut in pleasure, his mouth slightly open. And then she knows she had never seen something so hot.

“Open your eyes,” she orders, taking one of his hands over her hips, to her clitoris. He opens them, lost when he also notices the mirror. He smiles shamelessly as he kisses her neck and touches her.

“I’m close Annie,” he mutters, not losing rhythm. She hums and places her hand over his, to help him get her to the finish line. “Fuck Annie! You are so-”, he doesn’t finish as he slips out to come over the floor. “Fuck,” he mutters again. He doesn’t wait much before he kisses her neck softly, once again his fingers returning to their work, he makes her turn to have better reach, and it’s not long before she’s coming on his fingers, his name on her lips.

They arrange themselves in silence again, stockings forgotten as they use them to clean away the evidence. He stops her when she goes to open the door.

“I-“he begins, words failing him. Something clicks inside of her as she doesn’t need him to speak to know he wants to know she doesn’t regret it. She kisses him slowly, with purpose, his hands once again hold her close, pushing her into the closed door.

“I can’t think of a better way to begin a new year than this,” she says once they break, noses pressed together. He laughs sheepishly, feeling lighter than he has in ages.

“I’ve been told they have a mean buffet,” he says eyes on her.

“Now?” she wonders out loud not wanting to be the one to break them completely apart.

“B-Breakfast,” he stutters nervously, as if some minutes ago he hadn’t been buried deep within her. Her mouth draws a perfect O. “I have a room upstairs,” he continues when no response comes from her.

“I can’t,” she finally says, making him take a minuscule step back, to be able to see her face fully. “I don’t know if the hotel’s been completely vetted… “she adds sheepishly.

“Vetted?”

“NDA’s for the hotel staff, avoid leaks…” she continues brushing his hair back. She touches his face softly trying to memorize it again.

“Oh,” he mumbles understanding.

“I know the party had some sort of control, but I don’t-“”

“It’s ok,” he eases, glancing down, using his fidgeting hands to tuck his shirt back inside of his trousers. She bits her lip nervously.

“Max,” she calls taking his hands in hers. She pulls him in intending for a kiss but ends hugging him. She feels a knot form inside of her reminding her of the last time she held him like this. She feels her eyes begin to water when she stops herself from going down that road.  

There were many things they wanted to say. Many questions they had kept hidden at the back of their heads. Maybe they would get another opportunity to share them but for now this would have to do.

You were aware it was all a matter of circumstance. The wrong words, the wrong day, the wrong emotions. You were aware it was all a matter of circumstance, but that didn't make it sting any less. Daniel had tried to backpedal, to apologize, but the worst was done. Until he could get his head out of his ass and realize what he was doing to the people around him, you weren't going to be a part of it. 

Didn't mean you didn't miss him any less. Kelsea had stayed up with you at ungodly hours of the night as you poured your heart out to her, how the man who meant so much to you had changed. She'd been the one to show you that he'd been dropped from F1, that he was retiring, and the world slowed a little, and started to make sense. 

Sitting here, waiting for him now, you wonder why he didn't say anything. He'd been racing a long time, sure, but look at Fernando - who knows the age limits of F1 drivers. It had never occurred to you that he was working so hard to save his seat, but that still didn't excuse his behaviour. 

The Nashville heat was evident, even this late at night as you sat curled up on your balcony. If you strained, hard enough, you could make out the music of some bar nearby, a nice old tune if it weren't blasted at such a volume. He said his plane was getting in at 11, and as the clock got closer to midnight, you wondered if he'd actually show. 

He always kept his word, it wasn't like he'd say that and disappear, but this was the first real rough patch you'd hit, and neither of you was really sure how to navigate it.

"Hello, darlin'?" You bolt up, peering over the railing and down to Daniel in the street, blue bouquet of flowers in hand. He had always been one for little romantic gestures, and even after everything, it still hadn't changed. "You know, I'd serenade you, but you are the singer in the relationship, and I don't think the paparazzi need to hear that." 

"I mean, they might appreciate the show." It's old banter, like nothing had changed, like the last time you saw him you hadn't stormed out of his hotel room sobbing. You both realize that you'd slipped into old habits like worn boots, and end up staring at each other for a bit too long. 

"You going to let me up?" Something unknowable passes over Daniel's face as he says it, and you silently nod, moving back into your apartment to buzz him up. You knew he had the spare key, had spent enough nights here to know your keycode, but it was still nice of him to ask. 

In an instant, he's at your front door, and this close, you realize just how much you missed being in his presence. That song wasn't just a random choice. You had listened to it on repeat after everything you went through, and realized every word was about Daniel. Only, you weren't sorry, besides that it all went down the way it did. You're sure he felt the same way, and he holds out the bouquet with a small smile. 

"They're a bit crushed, since they're from England." 

"England?" You let him into the space, setting the flowers down on the kitchen counter to deal with them later. Last you checked, he'd be in Singapore, or maybe back home in Australia.

"I had to finish my offboarding." He admits quietly, still not moved from his place just a few steps in from the door. "They got some celebration stuff they want to plan for me, too, but yesterday made it official." 

He was no longer an F1 driver. You're not quite sure what to say, knowing how much love he put into the sport, but also the relief that it's all over. He did his best, he was moving on, but it still didn't make it hurt any less. "When do you have to go?" 

"The end of the week." Four days. That's how long you had him for. "I've booked a hotel, just a few streets over." 

"What?" Then, it dawns on you again why he's here in the first place. "Oh." 

"I was a dick." Daniel finally begins, setting down his backpack as he approaches you. He stops, the kitchen island between you, and you know if you look into his eyes any longer you're going to cry, so instead, you focus on staring at the flowers he brought. "I was so involved in the end of my career that I ignored how important yours was, and that wasn't fair of me." 

"Why didn't you say anything?" You knew he was stressed, you knew how hard this must have been for him, so why wouldn't he let you in? Every time you went through something, he was right there, listening to you, ready with solutions, or to just validate you.

Why didn't he think you'd do the same? "I didn't really know, but I had a hunch. I thought...if I said anything, it might come true, but I guess it did anyway." He lets out a weak laugh, before slowly moving around the counter to stand right in front of you. "I never should've said what I did, and I hope you know how grateful I am for your music, and everything you've written about me, and I'm so proud of all that you've done."

If the sight of him alone wasn't going to make you cry, his words most certainly were. You immediately step forward, wrapping your arms around his torso and pulling him into you, and you bury your face into his sweater, revelling in the smell of him. "I'm not going to lie and say it's all okay," Your voice is muffled by the fabric, and you pull away so he can hear you better. "But I understand what the pressure is like, darlin'. The only thing is I make sure to talk to you about it, rather than try to hide it away." 

"I'm just sorry. So sorry."  Then, the first tears fall, and you unloop your arms from him to wipe at his cheeks, holding him there as he tries to take deep breaths. Seeing him like this hurt more than the distance, knowing that it got to the point where he pushed you out before he could even think to pull you close. You should've been there for him, and the guilt of missing his last race still hangs over you. "I wish you were there for my last race." He continues, taking a deep breath, and your vision blurs as you blink away your own tears.

"I wish I was there too." You whisper as Daniel's hand comes to cradle yours, pulling it away from his cheek to press a kiss to the palm. "I'm sorry about your seat." 

"Ah, well. I've finally got some free time on my hands." He cracks a small smile, and you can't help but smile back. If there was a silver lining, in all of this, it was that Daniel was now a whole lot more free for you, and you needed to make up for lost time. "I hear there's this great country singer touring right now, might go see her." 

That pulls a laugh out of you, shaking your head as he lets your hand drop. "Oh yeah?" 

"Yeah." Then, with the reality of everything hitting again, his eyes dip to the floor as he admits, "I really...I'm really going to miss racing." 

"I know, love." You link your hand with his, pulling him away from the counter and toward the couch, and you force him to sit. You stand before him, holding his face in your hands, and wiping the last of the tear stains away. "But I'm here whenever you need me." 

"Yeah?" This would never have ended in heartbreak. There was no universe where you and Daniel didn't repair everything you went through, because that's just who you were. You made mistakes, and you fixed them together because even hurtful comments in the heat of the moment can't break your love for him. 

"Yeah. I told you, you're a hard man not to love, darlin'." He pulls you down onto him, looping his arms around you to hold you close. You press a kiss to his cheek as you relax into him, having missed the ways his arms feel around you. Neither of you speak for a while, just listening to the sound of each other breathing as you let yourself take up space in each other's lives again. Then, when it feels right, you rest your head back against his shoulder to look at him. "I picked up some things for you since we were running low." 

Confusion crosses over Daniel's face as he presses a kiss to your forehead. "Hm?" 

"Shampoo, your toothpaste, all that." Something sparks in his eyes, a realization that, despite the whole apology, you'd already planned for him to stay, already got his favourite things. You might've been hurt, but there's no way Daniel's staying in a hotel, away from you, when that bed's been calling his name since he left. "What? You really think you were coming here tonight for me to kick you out?" 

"I love you, you know that?" Those words always sounded so nice, coming from him, and tonight's no different as you lean forward to properly kiss him. It's a tender thing, kindled only by your time apart, no need to rush into something more than just sitting on the couch and letting each other be.

"Oh, I do." You say against his lips, hand smoothing against his chest. "But, it wouldn't hurt to have a little reminder-" 

Daniel's kissing you again before you can even finish the sentence, and you decide that for the next four days, you're not moving from this couch, and you're not moving from his arms.

summary: the one where you're the younger sister of the kelces and you go to a travis game and end up meeting daniel ricciardo.

Y/N is the Kelce siblings' little sister, the protected one, adored by her entire family. Her three older brothers loved to tease her whenever they could. Nonetheless, Y/N loved being the youngest, except for the overly protective nature of her brothers. Shawn, Jason, and Travis delighted in intimidating any guy who came near their sister, and this had been the story of her life. The fact that Jason and Travis were professional football players didn't help either. Despite it all, she knew her brothers just wanted her to stay safe and find the right person. And that happened in the most unlikely way.

Y/N was at the Chiefs game, just like any other game, or so she thought. She had chosen to stay in the stands; Y/N wasn't in the mood to be in the player's family area today, especially after the appearances of her supposed new sister-in-law, Taylor. The fans had become obsessed with recording and looking for the singer-songwriter there. Today, Y/N wanted a peaceful afternoon. She had never been fond of being in the spotlight and was grateful that her brothers were the stars, not her.

As Y/N settled into her seat, she couldn't help but relish the anonymity she usually enjoyed in the stands. She liked to be just another face in the crowd, free from the constant attention that came with being a Kelce. But little did she know that this particular game was about to take an unexpected turn.

The energy in the stadium was electrifying, and as the game progressed, Y/N found herself getting more and more engrossed in the action. The Chiefs were playing exceptionally well, and the crowd's excitement was contagious. Amidst the cheers and chants, she almost forgot about her desire for a quiet day.

That's when it happened. Y/N was caught up in the moment, jumping to her feet as the Chiefs scored a touchdown. As she celebrated, an unfortunate collision occurred. Out of nowhere, a cup of beer was knocked from someone's hand, drenching her from head to toe. She gasped in surprise and shock, realizing her white Chiefs jersey was now soaked.

Furious and stunned, she turned to see who was responsible for this mess, and her eyes met a face she couldn't believe – it was none other than the famous Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo, who was attending the game because of his Formula 1 race in Texas.

Y/N's frustration boiled over, and she shouted, "Are you kidding me? You just ruined my jersey!" Her irritation was palpable, and the entire section fell silent as all eyes turned to her and the unsuspecting Daniel Ricciardo.

As crowd silence hung in the air, Y/N could feel her face heating up with embarrassment and anger. She had no idea who this man was, only that he was the one who had turned her game day experience into a mess. But what she didn't know was that Daniel Ricciardo was not only a Formula 1 superstar but also known for his charm and charisma.

Daniel, caught off guard by her fiery reaction, was momentarily stunned. He glanced at the drenched jersey and then back at Y/N, a sheepish grin forming on his face. "Oh, gosh, I'm so sorry," he stammered. "I was just so caught up in the game, and I... I didn't mean to do that."

Y/N couldn't help but notice that, despite the situation, Daniel had an irresistible smile. It was clear that he was genuinely apologetic, and she couldn't stay mad at him for long. Still, she didn't know who he was, and her irritation was evident in her response. "Well, an apology won't dry my jersey, will it?"

At that moment, Max Verstappen, who was seated next to Daniel, couldn't contain his laughter any longer. He burst into fits of giggles, watching the entire interaction. "Mate, you've really done it this time!" Max said between laughs.

Y/N, despite herself, found Max's laughter contagious and couldn't help but chuckle along. "I can't believe you've got your friend here laughing at your blunder," she teased Daniel, a hint of amusement in her voice.

Daniel, red-faced and still grinning, extended his hand toward her. "I'm Daniel, by the way, and I promise I'll make it up to you somehow."

Y/N accepted the hand with a half-smile. "Y/N, nice to meet you. Just don't spill anything else on me."

Max chimed in, still amused. "Well, I think you've made quite the impression, Daniel.”

Max's playful comment only added to the amusement of the moment. As Y/N and Daniel continued to converse, they discovered an unexpected chemistry between them. His initial mistake had broken the ice, and they found themselves discussing everything from their favorite sports to their shared love for adventure.

As the game progressed, Y/N's initial irritation had turned into a delightful afternoon spent in the company of a charming stranger. She had completely forgotten about her drenched jersey and the chaotic start to their interaction.

As the final whistle blew, the Chiefs emerged victorious, and the crowd erupted in cheers. Daniel leaned closer to Y/N, and with a grin, he said, "You know, I've had an eventful day, and it's all thanks to you. Can I get your number? Maybe I can make it up to you with dinner or something?"

Y/N was taken aback for a moment, not expecting such a bold move. But his sincerity and the connection they had formed throughout the game were hard to ignore. She couldn't help but smile and replied, "Sure, why not? I think I'd like to see what other trouble you can get me into."
