Due to a severe respiratory infection, HM The Queen has decided not to accompany HM The King on the State Visit to Singapore 19–21 November.

The Queen was looking forward to visiting Singapore and regrets that she is unable to accompany The King on the trip. However, out of consideration for the Singaporean hosts and the rest of the State Visit delegation, The Queen chooses to remain in Sweden, to not risk exposing others to infection.

Her Majesty’s planned individual parts of the State Visit programme will be carried out by accompanying state secretary and the First Lady of the Court.

4. What was literally described as a Nest of Fries like next level fries with teriyaki sauce and truffle mayo I thank the word umami every day

5. American chains really do a great burger. Unfortunately!

6. So many good pastries at our year end party

7. The sauce that came with these fries made my girlfriend say "they need to have a Shazam for sauces so we can recreate this"

8. Smoked brisket by the beach at Sentosa

9. This lady at Chatuchak was grilling these bread fresh with butter and garlic they were so fluffy

10. Apps at our fav Sri Lankan restaurant - mutton rolls and banana blossom puffs

a fun fact is that when i was younger i used to volunteer at a parade they hold at the f1 pit building so i've been pretty much everywhere because the pitlane and the garages and the grandstands at the pit straight are permanent structures (while the rest of the track infrastructure is set up just for the race). i spent a lot of time in where they set up the garages and walked the whole pitlane before which in hindsight now is super cool

certainly!! premise is explained a bit here. i was hesitating starting this because the logistics are so wonky — after DMC, elizabeth somehow gets to singapore halfway across the world without a ship, then they sail far south enough to reach ice bergs, then they're back in the caribbean, and we're supposed to think this is over days/weeks rather than months.

it's fun in some ways (the miscommunication that comes inherently with a historical setting can be delicious) but it's incredibly annoying when you're trying to write a Fanned Fiction about two people kissing that is both realistic and fun to read. i'm mostly ignoring it and compressing time and space, but for my own sanity, here is my workaround:

Every pirate claimed to be a pirate lord at some point in their career, and it mattered not to the hangman whether they were a governor of a legislative body that did not exist to outsiders.  He mentions this to Mercer, who scoffs and turns aside. “Open your eyes. It would not concern Lord Beckett if it were not real,” Mercer says sharply. “Find Miss Swann. And find what you can about the court. Don’t dally; you’re already behind.”
