Sindhi Miku / سنڌي ميڪو/ सिंधी मिकु ‎
Requested by Anon!
She is wearing a cholo with muka embroidery, a suthan, a sindhi topi, and a Sindhi ajrak shawl.
Almost kept her original colour scheme and design this time! Some more design notes and references under cut.
I'm drawing a series of as many South Asian Mikus as I can! Here's the fourth one! Is there a South Asian Miku you would like to see? Feel free to request!
All South Asian Mikus
Commissions Open | Ko-fi
Cholo : The upper garment. Modern cholo are longer, I used a reference from the 19th century, cause I liked the design though, kept the sleeves three quarters, closer to modern references.
Suthan : A Sindhi lower garment that looks like a salwar but tightens below the knee and around the ankles, unlike a salwar.
Sindhi topi : A skull cap with an arched opening in the front
Ajrak : A block print style from Sindh.
Muka : A Sindhi embroidery style. I used this person's works for reference. You can probably buy clothes from them if you are in Pakistan 👍

These handmade products reflect the unique artistry, traditions, and craftsmanship of different regions across the country. From intricate embroidery to beautiful pottery, Pakistani handicrafts are a testament to the talent and creativity of local artisans.crafts table Here’s a list of must-have Pakistani handicraft products that showcase the country’s vibrant culture and heritage.

Exploring Pakistani Women’s Clothing Trends Across Occasions and Ceremonies
Pakistani women's clothing is a vibrant tapestry of colors, fabrics, and designs, reflecting the rich cultural diversity of the country. From traditional attire to contemporary fashion, Pakistani women embrace a wide array of styles, especially when it comes to dressing for various occasions and ceremonies. Let's delve into the captivating world of Pakistani women's clothing trends across different events.
1. Eid Celebrations:
Attire: For Eid, Pakistani women often opt for elegant and colorful outfits. Traditional dresses like shalwar kameez and anarkali suits are popular choices. Bright hues such as vibrant greens, blues, and pinks dominate the festive scene, adorned with intricate embroidery and embellishments.
Accessories: Statement jewelry, particularly jhumkas (traditional earrings) and bangles, complements the festive attire. A matching dupatta (scarf) is often draped gracefully to complete the look.
2. Weddings and Mehndi Ceremonies:
Bridal Wear: Pakistani weddings are known for their grandeur, and bridal attire plays a central role. Lehengas, heavily embroidered and often featuring intricate handwork, are the go-to choice for brides. Rich colors like maroon, red, and gold are popular.
Guests: Attendees at weddings and mehndi ceremonies showcase a diverse range of outfits. Anarkali suits, ghararas, and sarees are common choices, with attendees often experimenting with bold colors and contemporary designs.
3. Formal Dinner Parties:
Western Fusion: For formal dinner parties, many Pakistani women embrace a fusion of Eastern and Western styles. Long gowns, elegant evening dresses, and pant suits in muted tones or jewel colors are favored. Embellishments and minimalistic jewelry add sophistication to the look.
4. Casual Everyday Wear:
Lawn Suits: Pakistani women prefer lightweight and breathable fabrics for casual everyday wear, and lawn suits fit the bill perfectly. These suits are comfortable and often feature vibrant prints, making them suitable for both formal and informal settings.
5. Festivals and Cultural Events:
Cultural Attire: During cultural events and festivals, women often celebrate their heritage by donning traditional attire specific to their region. Sindhi women may wear ajrak prints, while Balochi embroidery may be prominent in Balochistan.
6. Workplace Fashion:
Professional Yet Traditional: In the workplace, Pakistani women often navigate a balance between professionalism and cultural identity. Western-style formal wear is common, but many women choose to incorporate traditional elements such as the dupatta or shalwar to maintain a connection with their roots.
