1899, Part 3 (the end)

The Samuels decided that for the sake of Eleanor, they would be moving. They found a newly built house in the same area, complete with indoor plumbing. Laurence immediately installed a fireguard on all of the fireplaces.

Jasper is a well-fed cat.

And that's the end of both 1899 and the 1890s. Everyone (except infants) will miraculously get a wardrobe update.

They 'moved' onto the same lot. I don't want them to actually move yet, but it felt like the house was cursed. The barn is smaller, but with only one horse, I think it's fine. They're now broke--went from over 70k simoleons to under 1k--and I deleted all of their plants, so they need to re-plant, which can't happen until spring. I built the house myself. Starting in 1899, Canadian volunteers served in the Boer War. I know next to nothing about it. 7000 people went, 267 were killed. I'm mostly using it as an opportunity to set up war rolls, including traits to give survivors. Raj Rasoya, who lives In the Fog (not in world) was the only volunteer, and he lived and rolled to get the Shameless trait (one of 50 I listed, both positive and 'negative'). Rolls are going to have to be something like: double the roll the stats would suggest, check if that's somewhere close, then increase numbers until it is.
