THE SPANISH TRANSLATION IS MUCH MORE ROMANTIC.

Remember the iconic "And I'm hopelessly in love with him"? FUCK THAT. Spanish Edition gives us:

"Y yo estoy completa y desesperadamente enamorado de él".

HOLY FUCKING SHIT, BAZ.

Jesus Christ.

There are so many things about this THAT MAKE ME LOSE MY MIND.

First of all... The usage of the "yo". JESUS. In Spanish we don't used "yo" AT ALL. It's not a thing because t's something that's already inside the verbs we use. SO, while the translation could have gone from "I'm in love with him" to "estoy enamorado de él", the translation goes HARDER by putting the subject of the phrase there. It's stating it's Baz. The phrase is not an accident, it's reinforcing that Baz is saying that with all his intentions.

Then, he's not only in love with him, he's utterly and desperately in love with him. Fuck me. His feelings aren't just hopeless, they're intense and all consuming and the boy is YEARNING.

Being hopeless in Spanish means having no hope, it's "desesperanzado", it's when something you wanted doesn't work out and you lose hope, but "desesperadamente"????? It's being desperate. It's something extreme and it's being dominated by a feeling. Baz is desperately in love with him. The intentions behind that single word is so strong. And it's of Simon.

Baz's phrasing is so strong. Wow.

Because also, when he says:

"Blue eyes. Bronze curls."

ALSO FORGET THAT.

In Spanish, he says:

"A esos ojos azules. A esos rizos de bronce".

He's referring to THOSE blue eyes, to THOSE curls of bronze. There's no doubt of who he's talking about because he previously described them to you but also because he's explicitly telling you he's talking about THIS Simon.

Baz, you romantic fool in Spanish, you're killing me.

It’s been a while since I last posted something about Simon and Baz haha.

I didn’t think that first post would recieve that much love since it was my first digital illustration and had mistakes I easily can recognize now a year ago. Still, you guys like it a lot, so I’m very greatful from the bottom of my heart 🥹🩷 I wanted to give better quality content this second time around, so I made a small comic. Haha.

I wanted to create an AU where magic and that all stuff didn’t exist—just normal school roommates. And also… with Simon falling first <3 uwu

Simon Snow Carry On: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

(I drew this a couple of years ago but I'm reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell right now so I thought I'd post it)

Simon during the first half of CO sounds genuinely angry at the existence of Baz. When I first read it, I didn't care to think he would eventually get together with Baz with all that hatred he had for him. And then, I thought that was just what I thought happened, but now on my reread, Simon really is mad at him. He's so upset.

Because now that I've just read the dragon scene, Simon's whole character just changed. He sound so incredibly drawn to Baz ever since he floated to help him with the dragon. This is the first time Simon looks stunned by him and that he doesn't sound so angry.

And I love it. I love how I can picture him perfectly, staring at Baz in awe after being helped. And that's so beautiful.

Simon sounding very angry for the first half of the book made me wonder what led him later to kiss Baz, but now that he's been strucked by Baz's beauty at existing and helping, it's so obvious.

After the dragon leaves Watford, Penny and Possibelf approach Simon and Baz to congratulate their work, but Simon sounds like he can't take his eyes off Baz. And Penny tries to make Simon's magic work on her, but he keeps taking her hand off him, as if he didn't care about anything that's not Baz. This happens all the book, but here it's obvious and transparent. Simon no longer wants to catch Baz "plotting" by looking at him, he now just wants to stare at him.

That dragon scene changed Simon. Gorgeous.
