Simon's Journey - Eight x Sleeping At Last This is my contribution for Simon's month <33 it has nothing to do with the prompts but this song is Simon to me and I have been wanting to do this edit for over a year.

My special interest before young royals was the enneagram ( a personality test kinda but more complex) and Sleeping at Last did a series of songs based on each Enneagram type and this is the song for type 8. I love Simon so much and I have thought about his type a lot I know people have differing opinions but I think Simon is an 8 wing 9 which is The Bear. It is a special combination of type 8 (the challenger) and type 9 (the peacemaker).

Simon is incredibly protective, both of the people he loves and of himself. While he has the typical fire and sense of justice of a type 8 he also has the softness and idealism of a type 9. Type 8s can also be quite guarded after learning from a young age that it can be hard to depend on anyone but yourself. Their main journey is to learn to let that guard down and embrace vulnerability. I, like Sara think Simon is incredibly brave for continuing to love and open his heart to others when he has been hurt by almost everyone close to him. To continue to have an open heart and give love a chance after so much trauma is something that he does not get enough credit for. I have learned so much from Simon and I love him so much so this edit is super special to me!

I have been wanting to do a longer post about his enneagram which maybe I will do if people are interested but in the meantime this is my offering!! I had to cut the song a bit because of twitter time limits but I definitely suggest listening to the whole thing:)

hi just thinking about how Simon believes in his music and his band so much he's willing to do questionable clinical trials, risking his own body, and also sell drugs to raise money to pay for vinyl pressings of their album while his bandmates and friends for who knows how long betray him over a couple grand. All while this random girl he met in the back of an alley who he didn't really know at all immediately refused to snitch him out to the cops, invited him over to her house, and got her parents to let him stay the night. Patty did all of that for Simon even though he was being kind of an edgelord and testing to see her reaction by saying wild shit to her and her parents and she just invited him into her home. She didn't even know he was John Q yet and she showed him so much kindness, this guy she saw hiding from the cops and was in a college class with her at one point and even back then was just as antagonistic to the point of the professor throwing a stapler at his head—Like even if he hadn't been John Q you can tell they're both immediately smitten and I'm fucking sick over how perfect they are for each other. Also I'm convinced he got the music appreciation professor pissed by like going off about how shit the beatles actually are.

“simon… can you help me?”

simon walk up and opening the door of the steam filled room in a instant. immediately, he noticed his gf wrapped in a towel with her sling back onto her shoulder.

it was about 2 weeks ago since his gf had a little fall down the concrete stairs while simon was on leave. her doctors had her in a sling for another 4.

as soon as he came back, he showered her with affection and help from all the time he missed while away.

now, his wife gf is giving him the cutest smile and he knows that everything you ask him will be done and more.

“simon, can you brush and braid my hair? i can’t do it anymore…”

his face fell for a instant, realizing how in distress his gf was (it wasn’t that big of a deal, but simon just takes the dramatic way out of everything)

now, we all know simon has huge hands. and from that, he’s fingers isn’t very flexible (not to knock down his finger game)

she has to teach him how to braid, which he’ll probably forget but is trying his best for her.

after he is finished braiding her hair, he starts to slowly kiss around her ear and down her neck.

he just loves his perfect gf so much, how could he not give her affection?

“simon….” she warns him, but not enough for him to know to stop.

let’s just say, they took another shower after..
