TURNsgiving2024 Day 5: Canon Ship Edit

I don't think I'm even remotely alone in hating the whole Anna "love septagon," because it seriously got exhausting. With Selah as her husband, Abe as her old flame, Hewlett as her new flame, Simcoe as the man pining after her, Caleb flirting continuously, and Anna/Ben having that slight tease at a relationship in S4, it was just too much. The real Anna Strong was a bad-ass who raised her children on her own after Selah was a.rrested, and also spied on the Brits in her tavern. WHY that wasn't interesting enough for the writers, I'll never know, but I would've preferred it a million to one over all the unnecessary romantic drama.

Unpopular opinion, but I would've only had her with Selah. I preferred all the relationships to be platonic, and I think it would've been cute if Hewlett viewed Anna as more of a little sister/friend than a love interest (a protective sibling angle would've been sweet), and if Simcoe had gone with his historical crush on Sally Townsend, that could've given way to all sorts of interesting drama, and pulled RobTown into the fray in a far less clumsy manner.
