Sims In Bloom: Generation 1 Pt. 9 (New Pets & Summer Fun!)

The Pancake kids struggled in the wake of their mother’s death, so Neal proposed an idea to Bob that he’d come up with on a past visit to Brindleton Bay for Ralph’s check up. He’d met Catarina Munch-Lynx, who was hoping to rehome kittens born to her Abyssinian, Josie. Bob and Neal took all six kids to Brindleton to greet Josie’s litter, and before the night was done the Pancakes went home with the only girl, Harley. Daisy was surprised, but not that shocked, when Neal and the kids walked in the door with Boomer, Harley’s brother – a fluffy white kitten both talkative and friendly.

Daisy’s birthday came and went without a celebration – it didn’t feel right with everyone still reeling from Eliza’s sudden death. Neal and Daisy convinced Bob to join them and some friends for a trip to the Romance Festival in San Myshuno without the kids. He agreed to go, but his grief was still too raw, and his hatred of crowds was amplified. He left early, and they apologized all the way home. He wasn’t ready to move on, and they understood. They couldn’t imagine what he was going through, and hoped they had decades before they’d need to find out.

The Nesbitts spent Family Day together at home, with Neal teaching River to ride a bike just like his older sisters. River, Holly, and Heather all suffered from asthma, and Heather had allergies to half the plant life in their garden, but they never let it stop them from enjoying the outdoors just like their parents. Sure, they could all find more enjoyment from the television and computer than either of their nature-loving parents, but never at the expense of fresh air activities. Henford’s air was so clean, a perfect place for their young lungs even with asthma and allergies.

Inquisitive Hazel always wanted to learn and cried when no one could read her flash cards. She was just like her studious elder siblings, but Neal and Daisy made sure the kids had fun. To celebrate the waning days of summer, they hosted a barbeque for half the town. They set up a projector and a bedsheet in the yard so the kids could watch a movie under the stars with their friends, set up a portable bar and served ribs, grilled fruit, even sugar cookies for dessert.

The weather was perfect that day, and Daisy's cowplant was happily fed and on its best behaviour. Everyone had a blast and begged for them to host another one next year. The whole town even chipped in to buy the Nesbitts an expensive grill, and the Annual Henford Cookout was born.

Heather reached her teens soon after, and her parents got her a medical station to teach herself vet skills when she wasn’t doing schoolwork or trying to wrap her mind around computer programming – far from her best subject. But programming could help her mod her favourite video games, a prospect which drove geeky Heather forward. As independent as ever, Heather loved keeping herself busy, but she loved spending time with her family and their pets, too. Ralph, King Tut, and Boomer were all well behaved, and got along with each other as well as their humans did.

Now that Daisy and Neal had a teenager, would life be any different at home? ->

lol, love how this pose makes Lavina look all sneaky and sultry. “Shhh, don’t tell your boring husband that I’m jilling you off in the town hall ;)” Lavina doesn’t do much in my saves aside from being the mayor of H-o-B and making Rahmi  uncomfortable whenever she pops up for family events, after Rahul and Rashidah get hitched. Meanwhile, Rahul is the sweetest baby angel alive. I don’t change any of their outfits a ton since they’re in pretty important roles, but wanted to make sure they didn’t look too out of place.

Bright and early one Sunday, Flo entered her first ever Finchwick Fair competition. She entered her prized rooster and there didn't seem to be much competition.

The mayor, Lavina Chopra, also welcomed Flo into the small town and offered her a favour since she was now a part of the village community.

Penelope and Owen have not been the best students this past year. Penelope currently has a D and Owen has a C.

Lavina bribes the kids with a new toy if they raise their grades.

It works and grades are up!

Now that Rahul is done with his degree, he reapplies to FutureSim Labs and is hired on as a Junior Tinkerer.

He unsuccessfully tries to obtain Kerri Elderberry's DNA on his first day back.

Lavina meets Moira Fyres, Sara Scott and Bella Goth for coffee, apple pie and gossip.

The endless debate: boxers or briefs.

Rahul and Rashidah get married in a small ceremony at the Ruins in Windenburg at dusk.

Their family and closest friends join them in celebrating their love for one another.

Sims In Bloom: Generation One Summary (Daisy)

Gen 1 - Daisy (white, yellow)

Gardening has always been your passion. Owning a large, healthy garden is all you’ve ever wanted in life, even if your nails constantly have soil under them and you have so many broken pots you’ve lost count. Your happy place is meditating in the shade of the fruit trees that you grew yourself from tiny saplings. You sit and wonder what your family will grow to do, and hope that they will flourish just as beautifully as your garden has. This is the start of your family legacy!

Live on a lot with the lot challenge ‘Simple living’

Grow a cowplant and keep it alive for as long as you live (if it dies, immediately plant a new one)

Grow 5 perfect plants

Marry a sim who also has the ‘loves outdoors’ trait

*Gain the Outdoorsy lifestyle

*Grow a death flower

Bonus (My own additions. I might use cheats to help complete these if I feel like it because I'm just piling on stuff to do, but I'll try to make it plot or give it some kind of difficulty.)

Befriend all seven Henford NPC townies (Lavina and Rahul Chopra, Michael Bell, Agnes Crumplebottom, Agatha Crumplebottom, Kim Goldbloom, Sara Scott) *taken from a later Sims In Bloom generation that is supposed to take place in Henford but I'll be in Chestnut Ridge instead.*

Plant all base game plants to earn gardening plaque**

Grow all 5 oversized plants to enter in Finchwick Fairs

Catch all base game fish to earn fishing plaque *not completed until after Generation 2 had technically begun*

Complete Finchwick errands and give Finchwick Favors *given to Neal who made and gave away eco-matic smog vacs. Heather completed one of the errands for Dylan Kraus, the grocery deliverer*

All challenge tasks completed. All bonus tasks also completed BUT the UFO plant was found in the gallery after I got bored of waiting for the rocket ship adventure with the UFO fruit to come around after bungling it the first time.

** Uncle Karl came about after a random sim glitched and walked into the Nesbitt home in Henford (and up the stairs to the second floor!) before promptly leaving again. The sim was randomly assigned the surname Nesbitt, so of course I had to play this up and give Neal a brother (I used MCCC to make it so).

I put a UFO fruit from the gallery on his lot, then sent Daisy over before 5am every day for three days so the plant would bloom and she could tend it until harvest. Basically cheating but not part of the official rules so I don't care. Then she grew her own and my obsessive pursuit of the gardening plaque was done! Immediately had her quit her job as an "astrobotanist" (astronaut) and go back to gardening from home, but never tried too hard with it since she'd accomplished so much and the Florist career comes back later in the In Bloom Challenge.

Quick story time:

When preparing for Sims in Bloom I've made 2 possible spouses for Gretel, both with storyline and families. One of them is Teddy and the other one is Maverick (Lavina Chopra's nephew).

The thing is I didn't want to have full control of the situation, so I left full autonomy on, and waited to see who she was going to meet, who would reach out, or who Gretel wanted to spend time with (I also have some attractive/first impression mods besides the compatibility system of the game).

Even after spending a lot of time exploring public lots and different regions of Hendford-on-Bagley, Maverick was never around so they never met...Until now.

TELL ME WHY THEY HAVE AMAZING COMPATIBILITY AND CLICK WITH EACH OTHER AUTOMATICALLY?!?!?!

But I'm not doing anything about it unless the game tells me otherwise!! So if you like Teddy, pray for him I guess :T
