Return to Kulo Sena: Household 1 - Pollen

Guess who's finally PLAYING after many, many setbacks? Last week I passed the halfway mark with my >40 households to make, but... then I decided that it was too much of a slog to do them all at once. I opted to start over and do them in stages instead... and a challenge was born! (Sort of.)

The basic idea: I'll be starting with just four of those families, with the aim of "unlocking" all of them by guiding the first batch of playables to fulfilment. As time progresses and more sims find success and fulfilment (by completing LTWs, maxing careers, skills or hobbies, anything that they would have as a personal goal really...) I will unlock a new household for each achievement. I'll also add three more at the end of each rotation.

But where are they in the meantime? Well. Remember that Starband of Fate I've mentioned a few times? Here's my idea: a favourite TS3 household of mine, consisting of a simself and two aliens in a polyamorous relationship, has offered to protect the sims of Lake Lulla by sending them into a kind of stasis. In this state, they're effectively frozen in time and don't age, but they are all sharing in a peaceful and uplifting dream of sorts. One side-effect to this process: coming out of it often makes waking life seem more dreary in comparison. So the simself household settled in the region as one of the founding four, and are responsible for aiding the others in overcoming that low and finding happiness.

And, if you read all that rambling... ready to meet them?

From left to right, the top row features: Axane Pollen, an outgoing, bubbly researcher; Qusul Pollen, a nurturing and affectionate healer; and the simself Equinox Pollen, who is... simselfy.

And this little furbaby here is Lanie, the Pollens' beloved family pet.

House tour (though bear in mind, it's a starter house and unfinished) and the beginning of these sims' adventures will be coming soon!

Kailman Legacy || 13: High Heels, Blue Dress

On James Ranch, Emerson's getting the hang of things and feels like he belongs. He's finally gotten the horses, Beauty and Gold Rush, to warm up and has established a routine despite the awkwardness of his first week. As he wrapped up his morning duties, Louisa and Noah John invited him to Beauty's training with Phoenix, and the group enjoyed the gorgeous scenery on Phoenix's property.

Louisa got to making social media content while he talked shop with the trainer, learning how long he'd been in the business and what he loved about his career. At the same time, Noah John hung out with Phoenix's horse, Fire Bird. The three young adults caught up after their night out the previous weekend and looked ahead to their next get-together. Even still, Emerson couldn't keep his eyes off the girl he was told was off-limits. Until a new one walked up, that is.

With a sour look in a lacy blue dress came Amberleigh Aimes, another of Phoenix's longtime clients and acquaintances from high school. He stepped aside to chat, realizing his schedule had been overbooked for the morning. However, he encouraged Amberleigh to introduce herself to the new ranch hand and connect with Louisa, whom she hadn't seen since senior prom several weeks ago. Instead, though, Emerson made his acquaintance with the pretty stranger alone and was able to brighten her mood within moments of meeting.

Meanwhile, then came Albert, Amberleigh's twin brother. He made a B-Line for Louisa, which Emerson certainly made note of. Emerson managed to rejoin his coworker smoothly and meet the man as politely as possible, learning that the two were each other's prom dates and had grown up together. He saw how bright Louisa's eyes were around him, and Emerson again reminded himself that she was simply not an option. The green-eyed monster called jealousy didn't care for logic, though, as it built a new home in Emerson's mind, and he grinned through small talk. Louisa then invited him and Amberleigh to their next outing, and Albert happily agreed as he'd missed her company. Look out, Emerson, envy's not a good look on you.

@claudettesims converted this blouse a while ago. I thought it would make a charming top for elders ladies as well!

In all of the original colors. This is a *new* mesh for EF, about 2k.

And while I was at it, I made 4 recolors, for AF and EF. Mesh for AF by @claudettesims is included!

I've been wanting to do something with @moyokeansimblr's 4t2 conversion of TS4's GP10 pants since they were released!

I love the colors. And I liked the wide-leg as well, but I wanted to change the shape a little. So I did that.

And then, @pforestsims shared these jeans with really cool loafers. They'd included some creator resources for the loafers, which got me pondering...

...why not add some cool details and colors to the loafers like PF did!

Cute, right? I have included PSD's of the ones I made.

I mean, if I had blue snakeskin loafers, *I'd* think that was pretty neat.

These are *new* meshes, for AF and EF, about 1k, categorized for Everyday.

I'd also like to note that they work best with tops that end right at the Maxis waist. But they do work with many longer tops too!

Kailman Legacy || 09: Down to the Honky Tonk

It's the first company outing for Emerson, and Noah John invited him and Louisa out for drinks and dancing at the local bar, only asking that they keep it classy and not get trashed. An easy enough agreement, right?

Upon their arrival, Louisa was embraced by a gorgeous girl in a matching cowboy hat and the man sticking close to her: Abigail Westworth and Phoenix Abbott, a professional equestrian content creator and a horse trainer, respectively. After some drinks, the group quickly got to the dance floor. Once several songs played, Abigail took her friend aside to tell her how Noah John's new ranch hand clearly found her more interesting than a co-worker living upstairs. Louisa brushed it off, knowing full well that any sort of something between the two of them wouldn't be a good idea. Her bestie also knew full well that the girl could use some romantic attention after growing up with her nose in books, avoiding dating outside a brief flirt or two.

The girls rejoined the dance floor in the nick of time, too, since Emerson finally dared to ask Louisa for a dance. The pair exchanged banter before falling into a rhythm, twirling and stomping to a country duet. Feeling the fearlessness of his first-ever set of drinks, he took her for a dip, and she was sufficiently impressed and, unfortunately, charmed by his seeming confidence. She'd also had her share of drinks, so the music and his eyes drowned out her previous hesitations. Not for long, though.

During a lull, Louisa and Noah John took a break on a sofa, and he asked about the dance. She blushed, reminded that he'd, of course, be keeping an eye on them. Unable to really answer, Noah John wasn't overbearing but reminded her that he'd only just started, and if things were not to work out between the two of them, it might throw off his progress in learning the business. He knew this wasn't her intention and didn't want to necessarily discourage an innocent crush, but he was firm in establishing a 'no dating' boundary. He said he'd have the same conversation with him in the morning, and Louisa was left dejected and with plenty to chew on during the taxi ride home.

The trio made their way to their bedrooms, but before she turned in for the night, she stopped Emerson and asked to talk. Tipsy herself, she fumbled through explaining what Noah John had said. More clear-headed, Emerson listened intently and recognized how the situation could look, no matter how pure his motives may have been. He agreed to not cross that line going forward and keep things professional. The two went to bed, understanding the situation but thinking of the fun they shared longer than they'd care to admit. Who would've thought Love Day would end on such a sad note?
