My first ever art for Tolkien Reverse Summer Bang ‘24. I was thinking of all the early Edain women who did not get to tell their stories when I created this.
Be on the lookout for the accompanying fic, The Web of Life by the extremely talented @caiti-creative-corner on September 6th.

Elrond is the Lord of Rivendell, but I feel like that responsibility is shared with Erestor and Glorfindel. Elrond, who cares for the valley and its inhabitants. Glorfindel, who protects them from any darkness that might threaten them. Erestor, who keeps everything running seamlessly.
They're very sun moon & stars coded and I love that for them!

The Silmarillion aesthetic | N a r g o t h r o n d
..and that stronghold was called Nargothrond. In that labour Finrod was raised by the Dwarves of the Blue Mountains; and they were rewarded well, for Finrod had brought more treasures out of Tyrion than any other of the princes of the Noldor.
There in Nargothrond Finrod made his home with many of his people, and he was named in the tongue of the Dwarves Felagund, Hewer of Caves; and that name he bore thereafter until his end. But Finrod Felagund was not the first to dwell in the caves beside the River Narog.

NIENNA of TOLKIEN’S SILMARILLION ↬ but she does not weep for herself; and those who hearken to her learn pity, and endurance in hope. all those who wait in mandos cry to her, for she brings strength to the spirit and turns sorrow to wisdom.

She had looked upon the Lord of the Noldor and he seemed to her fairest and noblest of the Eldar, dark-haired and white of brow, eager of face but with eyes full of thought; and his voice and mastery of words delighted her.

@aspecardaweek day six | intersectionality | bi aro aredhel
[Aredhel] was younger in the years of the Eldar than her brothers; and when she was grown to full stature and beauty she was tall and strong, and loved much to ride and hunt in the forests. There she was often in the company of the sons of Fëanor, her kin; but to none was her heart’s love given.
