Thanks to everyone who came out to the opening of Flow @decontemporary in Wilmington where I’m showing work with Linnea Tober @metamorphosis_gallery Everyone wanted to know how I hung my crazy sculpture. Let me tell you it wasn’t easy, but as they say no pain, no gain. I always learn and grow a lot when I push myself outside my comfort zone. Working by myself on a shaky lift at 14 ft off the ground won’t feel like much of a challenge next time, which makes me wonder what the universe has in store for me. Yesterday was like Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one. I gave my talk to a very receptive and appreciative audience. They were excited by the work and the stories behind my evolution as an artist. I was beaming already when a woman approached me to introduce herself and inform me that she’d purchased one of my small fiber pieces for her apartment. I was able to get both sculptures installed yesterday! That was a lot time spent going up and down that ladder. The grid on the wall behind the blue sculpture is leftover from the previous exhibition and will be removed by the gallery’s installer.
