vaguely related but the common textile material used in old japan was hemp, cotton eventually joined but iirc was a more expensive material and generally reserved for nobility till more recent times
#this was from a relatively quick search a bit ago so i may be a bit off about the specifics of cotton#I needn't mention silk which btw that shit is so cheap nowadays#you can get it for as little as like $35usd ish depending#which is amazing to me. Depending on where you look you might even be able to find it for cheaper#where i am online and in store silk is about the same cost as wool fabric ($50-60ish cad/m). how insane is that

Let’s delve into the captivating world of traditional Indian fabrics and explore how Luxurion World is redefining the art of wearing tradition.
1. Banarasi Saree: A Symbol of Timeless Elegance
One of the most iconic fabrics of India, the Banarasi saree, originates from Varanasi (Banaras), a city renowned for its silk weaving traditions. These sarees are prized for their luxurious texture, intricate zari work, and delicate motifs inspired by Mughal art. Owning a pure Banarasi saree is not just about embracing tradition but also cherishing a piece of history.
When you buy Banarasi saree online from Luxurion World, you’re investing in a masterpiece crafted by skilled artisans who pour their heart and soul into every thread. Whether you’re attending a wedding, a festival, or a formal event, a Banarasi saree adds unmatched grandeur to your look.
Luxurion World’s collection also extends to Banarasi dupattas, which are versatile and can be paired with salwar suits or lehengas for an elegant touch. Opt for a Banarasi dupatta online and experience the perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
2. The Regal Allure of Paithani Sarees
Hailing from Maharashtra, the Paithani saree is a true representation of royal artistry. Woven from fine silk threads, these sarees are adorned with intricate zari borders and pallu designs, often depicting motifs of peacocks, lotuses, and other elements of nature. Each Paithani saree takes months to create, reflecting the dedication and craftsmanship of the weavers.
Luxurion World’s collection of Paithani sarees online showcases the finest examples of this art form. These sarees are perfect for weddings, traditional ceremonies, or even as heirlooms passed down through generations. When you drape a Paithani saree, you don’t just wear a garment; you carry the legacy of centuries.
3. The Grace of Traditional Parsi Sarees
Parsi sarees, also known as Gara sarees, are a tribute to the Parsi community’s rich heritage. These sarees are characterized by their intricate embroidery, often featuring floral motifs, birds, and Chinese-inspired designs. The traditional Parsi saree is an embodiment of elegance and sophistication, making it a perfect choice for special occasions.
At Luxurion World, you can buy Parsi saree and revel in its unparalleled craftsmanship. The soft fabric, detailed handwork, and vibrant colors ensure that you stand out effortlessly. Whether it’s a formal dinner, a cultural event, or a festive celebration, a Parsi saree will never fail to impress.

The rich silk material adorned with zari work offers endless possibilities, from lehengas and Anarkali’s to contemporary Indo-western ensembles. Luxurion World’s collection of Banarasi fabric material allows you to experiment with designs while staying rooted in tradition.

I was meeting a client at a famous museum’s lounge for lunch (fancy, I know) and had an hour to kill afterwards so I joined the first random docent tour I could find. The woman who took us around was a great-grandmother from the Bronx “back when that was nothing to brag about” and she was doing a talk on alternative mediums within art.
What I thought that meant: telling us about unique sculpture materials and paint mixtures.
What that actually meant: an 84yo woman gingerly holding a beautifully beaded and embroidered dress (apparently from Ukraine and at least 200 years old) and, with tears in her eyes, showing how each individual thread was spun by hand and weaved into place on a cottage floor loom, with bright blue silk embroidery thread and hand-blown beads intricately piercing the work of other labor for days upon days, as the labor of a dozen talented people came together to make something so beautiful for a village girl’s wedding day.
What it also meant: in 1948, a young girl lived in a cramped tenement-like third floor apartment in Manhattan, with a father who had just joined them after not having been allowed to escape through Poland with his pregnant wife nine years earlier. She sits in her father’s lap and watches with wide, quiet eyes as her mother’s deft hands fly across fabric with bright blue silk thread (echoing hands from over a century years earlier). Thread that her mother had salvaged from white embroidery scraps at the tailor’s shop where she worked and spent the last few days carefully dying in the kitchen sink and drying on the roof.
The dress is in the traditional Hungarian fashion and is folded across her mother’s lap: her mother doesn’t had a pattern, but she doesn’t need one to make her daughter’s dress for the fifth grade dance. The dress would end up differing significantly from the pure white, petticoated first communion dresses worn by her daughter’s majority-Catholic classmates, but the young girl would love it all the more for its uniqueness and bright blue thread.
And now, that same young girl (and maybe also the villager from 19th century Ukraine) stands in front of us, trying not to clutch the old fabric too hard as her voice shakes with the emotion of all the love and humanity that is poured into the labor of art. The village girl and the girl in the Bronx were very different people: different centuries, different religions, different ages, and different continents. But the love in the stitches and beads on their dresses was the same. And she tells us that when we look at the labor of art, we don’t just see the work to create that piece - we see the labor of our own creations and the creations of others for us, and the value in something so seemingly frivolous.
But, maybe more importantly, she says that we only admire this piece in a museum because it happened to survive the love of the wearer and those who owned it afterwards, but there have been quite literally billions of small, quiet works of art in billions of small, quiet homes all over the world, for millennia. That your grandmother’s quilt is used as a picnic blanket just as Van Gogh’s works hung in his poor friends’ hallways. That your father’s hand-painted model plane sets are displayed in your parents’ livingroom as Grecian vases are displayed in museums. That your older sister’s engineering drawings in a steady, fine-lined hand are akin to Da Vinci’s scribbles of flying machines.
I don’t think there’s any dramatic conclusions to be drawn from these thoughts - they’ve been echoed by thousands of other people across the centuries. However, if you ever feel bad for spending all of your time sewing, knitting, drawing, building lego sets, or whatever else - especially if you feel like you have to somehow monetize or show off your work online to justify your labor - please know that there’s an 84yo museum docent in the Bronx who would cry simply at the thought of you spending so much effort to quietly create something that’s beautiful to you.
#shut up e#long post#Saturday thoughts#this has been in my drafts for a week haha#also this is the heart of why AI art feels so wrong#forget the discussion of copyright and theft etc - even if models were only trained on public domain they would still feel very wrong#because they’re not art. art is the labor of creation#even commercial art and art commissioned by the popes and kings of history: there is humanity in the labor of it#unrelated: I did not know living in the Bronx was now something to brag about. How the fuck do y’all New Yorkers afford this city???

Styling Embroidered Organza Fabric for Special Occasions
In fact, embroidered fabric really is a sign of posh, fancy, and cultural heritage. The immense patterns and luxurious textures of embroidered fabrics will work for a grand wedding, a festive celebration, or a sophisticated gala. In this blog post, we will share how to style embroidered silk fabric and embroidered organza fabric for special occasions, and where to find the best-embroidered fabric online.
Embroidered Silk Fabric Timelessly Beautiful
The embodiment of classic, the embroidered silk fabric. Lustrous and glossy texture provides a rich base for the finest embroidery work. Below are a few style tips:
1. Traditional Wear
For weddings and other events, there are embroidered silk sarees or lehengas. A heavily embroidered silk saree can well be paired up with minimal jewellery as the fabric will speak for itself in this case. A set can be chosen with a blouse that is embroidered with silk.
2. Modern Twist
Traditional textiles can be given a modern look with the choice of wear. A silk embroidered gown or cocktail dress would do justice. Try to pick designs that mix modern cuts and traditional patterns of embroidery. This will make an impression no matter where you go.
3. Mix and Match
For more flexibility, an embroidered silk blouse can be paired with a plain-colour silk skirt, or perhaps trousers. In such a set, the embroidery stands out on its own merit, but the total effect is harmonious and sophisticated.
Revealing the Beauty of Organza Embroidery Cloth
The organza embroidery cloth is lofty, sheer, and crunchy. It is ideal for designing fine, elegant clothes to transform any special-occasion dress into a masterpiece.
1. Airy gowns
Organza dresses with embroidery could work best for you come evening. The sheer factor of organza gives that ethereal edge, and the embroidery naturally adds a dash of luxe. Go for pastel shades with soft embroidery for grace, or bold colours with detailed patterns for a look that is high on drama.
2. Layered Skirts
You can team an embroidered layered organza skirt with a simple top for that high fashion look, without much effort put into it. Perfect for a semi-formal occasion where you need to pull off an elegant look while being at ease.
3. Elegant Overlays
Get an embroidered organza overlay for your outfit. What may be an ordinary gown in the marketplace might be extraordinary with an embroidered organza overlay. A simple garment can instantly be turned into a statement with just one chic overlay. This design is perfect for receptions and evening parties.
Shop Online for Your Perfect Embroidered Cloth
Shopping for embroidered fabric online affords the luxury of shopping for a huge collection of varying styles and designs in the comfort of one's home. Below is how you can ensure you get good quality:
1. Research Online Reputable Sellers
Users should look for online selling websites that have good reviews and ratings. A store specialising in fabrics and stores that specialise in marketing ethnic clothing generally have a better quality and service available. To estimate the dependability of the seller, read through the feedback given by customers.
2.Read closely
The descriptions that online shops provided for the fabric. Make sure that the information related to the fabric content, used embroidery technique, and the details provided for the care instruction are clear and full because the same would be used in understanding what you are buying better.
3. Request fabric samples
Whenever possible, you should request fabric samples before making a large purchase since this gives you close inspection of the fabric physically to ensure it fits your expectations in terms of colour, texture, and quality.
4. Compare Prices
Check the comparing prices on various sites to ensure that you are getting a fair deal. Also, do keep in mind that very low prices may be a warning of low quality, so balance cost with the quality assurances given by the seller.
5. Return Policy
Check the return policy of the online store. A flexible return policy indicates the seller's confidence in their product and offers you protection in case the fabric is not quite what you expected.
Embroidered Fabrics: Styling Tips
For all embroidered fabrics, here's a further guideline to keep in mind, in general:
1. There Must be a Balance of Fabric Embellishments
Keep the accessories to a complete minimum if you are wearing heavily embroidered fabrics so that you will not look overly done but rather let the embroidery in the fabric shine.
2. The Occasion
Match the level of embroidery with the formality of the event. For weddings and other formal events, wear heavily embroidered fabrics, and lightly embroidered fabrics for use in semi-formal events.
3. Complementary Colours
Choose colours that complement your complexion and the general theme of the event. Pastels and neutrals are always safe options, whereas bold colours yield a loud statement.
4. Comfort is Key
Ensure the dress is comfortable to wear, particularly if the anticipated stay in it will be for long hours. Consider going for comfortable, lightweight fabrics for example organza, if you are after feeling cool and comfortable while keeping your overall style striking.
5. Proper Care
Be cautious with your garments that are embroidered. Just follow care instructions so that the beauty and longevity of the fabric can be maintained. Store them properly so as not to damage the embroidery.
Embroidered fabrics give so much room for creativity—whether it is luscious silk or tender organza—to create beautiful outfits for special occasions. It does mostly depend on the style you choose and how you will pull your appearance together. Now, using the valuable opportunity to buy embroidered fabric online, be sure to find that perfect fabric with loads of time before the upcoming special occasion.
With these tips in mind, and woven in would be the beautiful world of textures embroidered into your fabrics, you would step out looking, feeling, and leaving a lasting memorable mark at any event. Any which way one goes: classic charm through embroidered silk or delicate grace through embroidered organza, one's style and presentation together are sure to make heads turn.
