thinking about silas octakiseron so hard. he’s so similar to harrow and yet obviously so different to her; beyond the obvious colour symbolism and the religious devotion they’re also both just. kids. like according to judith’s notes silas is 16, making him the third-youngest in the entire cohort of scions trying to ascend, and like. god. where to even start with that?? this sixteen-year-old is the master templar of an entire house, and considering how he promises to lead colum in prayer/penance and his overall just general Attitude through gtn, i imagine he’s in a similar situation to harrow of being forced to/having to assume leadership for most of his life. but the thing that gets me about silas is that he - the most (barring harrow) religious character in gtn, dedicated to the worship of God, sees the lyctorhood process and claims it cannot be god’s truth, that it cannot be sanctioned. i mean he brands ianthe, a lyctor, a heretic!!! can you IMAGINE the mental torment going on within that kid, upon discovering that the great work his own god has called him to accomplish is heresy in nature. discovering that is one thing but actually saying it??? and refusing to become a lyctor?? is absolutely another. also his relationship with colum, that he apparently used to look up to him and take everything he said as the truth,,,, i know we won’t learn more about him but good GOD this mayonnaise uncle is so so interesting

I love this and also how some people say that m/n should get a transformation mode and I was thinking like of him being a vehicon with flight mode (cause they are silly, I like them) also eventually m/n will be able to transform but it’s kinda hard for him to do it so he has to wait a bit before being able to become his plane or car mode.

Given the chance knockout or shockwave would tear apart Silas if they get their servo’s on him (let’s be honest everyone would do this) also sometimes m/n thinks of revenge and wanting to make Silas suffer, as the metal prison m/n is locked can be used as the guillotine of Silas’s own demise.

M/n likes to watch cartoons with bee, he still can’t go outside cause no vehicle mode to disguise himself but sometimes he does sneak out on top of the base if he can so he could and acree joins him sometimes just sitting there for a bit enjoying the peacefulness of the morning or night (they just chill like that, also m/n is extremely frightened by arachnid cause even if m/n is in a new body, bro is just a easier target for arachnid to take)

I'm going to assume by long fics you mean multichaps? I've always found this fandom seems to be lacking in them, and I'm not talking about the 5-10 chapter fics --- I mean the long ass, epic-length fics that transport you to another dimension and rob you of nine hours of your life in a back-alley because you couldn't close the ao3 page at 1am. Other fandoms seem to have dozens of them but klaroline? Not so much. Writers here seem to prefer the 50k one-shots or playing with a different AU altogether, which is fantastic of course, but sometimes you crave something different, you know? Something you can lose youself in. It's what made me write TBBW, initially. However, that doesn't mean the fandom doesn't have some canon-divergent gems.

Epic-Length Wonders:

Red Queen by KS_Caster / @ks-caster

3-Part Series, Over 200k+ words. Season 4 Canon-Divergent. The last part is a WIP. I absolutely adored this fic when I first read it and I still adore it now. Klaus puts Caroline first and continues to put her first during the search for Silas' cure and it is fucking amazing. The werewolf/hybrid world building in the second fic inspired me to write more fics like it. It's not had as much attention since it was moved to AO3, but trust me, this fic is a hidden gem.

Wicked Schemes by willowaus / @willowaus

30 Chapters, 260k+ words. Season 1 TO Canon-Divergent. Ignores the baby plot. Caroline inherits the powers of a harbringer and the way its weaved into the fic so flawlessly makes you question if it wasn't just canon to begin with. Honestly epic world building. Wolf!Klaus also makes an appearance! A true klaroline classic.

Klaus and Caroline's relationship is also explored with such nuance --- like these two aren't just attracted to each other but entwined by their very souls, kind of nuanced. Oh, and the bloodsharing scene drawn by here by @stardust414 lives rent-free in my mind.

10 Chapters, 29k+. Post-Canon. This one's a WIP but I'm keeping my eye on it because it's good. Like hella good. Just - for a minute - imagine canon expanded on the tvd universe and revisted the fact the Originals are little more than nightmarish stories in the supernatural world, or that Stefan is the most infamous mass murderer on the east coast and maybe you'll understand how amazing this fic is.

Important to note these were all specifically Canon-Divergent multichaps. There's plenty more gems out there, just for different AUs and lengths. I also only looked at my ao3 bookmarks for this, so like, I'm probably forgetting several.

TLT characters and smoking: Judith: got peer-pressured into it as a teenager because someone told her Coronabeth and/or Marta would think it was cool. Nearly passed out coughing and has never been willingly within six feet of a cigarette since Marta: Only smokes after she fucks. Which is a lot, by the way. Coronabeth: No particular interest in smoking, but would 1000% take it up if she thought it would make her more interesting to someone. May in fact do that now that Ianthe smokes. Ianthe: Canonically does smoke as of the end of NTN. Probably wasn't especially interested beforehand, especially given her dodgy necromancer lungs, but once she was a lyctor the psychosexual drama of the mithraeum was always gonna give her some sort of vice Naberius: no interest whatsoever, he's an athlete and he's too concerned about his looks and the potential for premature ageing. Not that it would matter, as Ianthe would just fix him, but he doesn't strike me as the type. Would definitely vape though, and let's be real, if any house has vapes, it's the third. Isaac: Teenage rebellion phase might include smoking, might even include weed. The Fifth would be horrified by this. Jeannemary: Probably more likely to smoke than Isaac as part of the aforementioned teenage rebellion phase, if I'm honest. Abigail: nope, she'd be too aware that it's bad for you to enjoy it. I can see her enjoying edibles though, it feels like they might help with certain kinds of spirit magic. Magnus: Cigars. Look at the guy. Palamedes: absolutely the fuck not, although he did at least pick up the muscle memory for it during The Unwanted Guest shenanigans. Cam: Equally absolutely the fuck not. Paul: Until I read TUG, I'd have said just as much of a no as with Cam and Pal, but now I know Palamedes went into that whole thing with Ianthe's smoking habit rubbed off on him, there's an outside chance they'll share one with Pyrrha Dulcinea: Would never be allowed to smoke, which I suspect would mean she'd very much want to given the "sick of roses and horny for revenge" thing. She should've been chuffing fat darts every minute we saw her in the river bubble. Maybe she was, just not around Harrow. Protesilaus: Doesn't strike me as the sort, although we don't see much of him. Silas: no, he's a weird sixteen-year-old temperance freak and also a frail necromancer Colum: Definitely smokes. Rolls his own. May not even bother with filters given how he knows the siphoning is fucking him up faster than the cigs ever could. Gideon Nav: Might try it to impress girls, but is probably too aware of the possibility of it messing up her fitness, which she also uses to try to impress girls. Harrow: Nah. Just being around cigarette smoke would overstimulate her.
