Wayne Vs Fenton 3

start of the madness

pls note I'm putting these numbers in as "what I have written." They're not gonna necessarily be in order. I hope to make a full fic to put on AO3. In the interim, here's stuff I wrote in general as it strikes me in the moment. This bit is from Tim's perspective after Damian and Danny Are Friends become a known quantity in the Wayne household. ~*~

Damian making friends didn’t make sense. Everyone else felt complacent in simply accepting it. Tim wasn’t. Considering his upbringing, autonomous socializing wasn’t part of Damian’s personality. Nor was how calm and patient the former assassin child became with all of his siblings, Tim included. Damian himself insisted he and this “Danny” were friends. Hell, Damian even called the kid by a nickname. Not his last name, not “Daniel.” His actual, preferred nickname. Tim was suspicious and instantly began investigating. Daniel “Danny” Fenton, age 15, moved to Gotham two months ago from Amity Park, Illinois with his godfather and temporary guardian, Vlad Masters, former mayor of Amity Park, head of Vladco Industries, and heir to Wisconsin’s Self Proclaimed Dairy King’s fortune. Child of Jack and Madeline Fenton, doctors of something called ectobiology, former college classmates of Vlad Masters, and founders of FentonWorks, a cottage research facility that developed antighost (Ghosts? Really?) weaponry and equipment. Brother of Jasmine Fenton, currently a student of Yale in their psychology undergraduate program, and already a shoe-in for the Dean’s list. Honestly, of all the people related to him, Danny ended up being the least interesting. Middling grades that dropped in high school along with attendance. That was probably what led to his coming to Gotham. A set of brilliant - if evidentially weird - parents and a rich and involved godfather doing what they could to help their faltering son to succeed by sending him to one of the top schools on the east coast. There was evidence that Amity Park itself had some apparently minor meta vigilante protecting it, but searches for “Phantom” turned up nothing in the Justice League’s database, suggesting whomever this was might be an actual ghost like Deadman and, thus, restricted to access by those with JLD clearance. Tim put aside that issue for later. He could just ask B for privileges later. Besides, the only information he found on this vigilante was on a few amateur fansites and local papers. No major news sites or government listings. It couldn’t be anything major. His focus remained on Daniel Fenton. Except, even when looking into the kid’s socials, there wasn’t anything interesting. He had a couple friends back in Amity, the most interesting of the two was Samantha Mason of the Mason family, though Tim already knew of her from various socialite dinners she looked ready to burn to the ground, pink and lacey dress or not. Her social media was full of activism, conservation movements, and calls for both veganism and something called ultra recycle vegetarianism. Tucker came from an average family of upper middle class parents, nothing odd there, though his social media showed his love of technology and ancient Egypt. Nothing strange there. Danny’s social media, besides his friends, included links to Nasa, occasional rambles about high school life, and, for some reason, a dog photoshopped to look green. From the replies of his few followers, it was an inside joke since they all cooed over the dog and didn’t comment on the green. Again, nothing strange. Even the one time he managed to hack into Damian’s phone to see his messages yielded nothing. He and Danny would meet for what Danny called “playdates.” For some reason, Damian played along with a name Tim knew he’d scoff as childish and beneath him. Even that would be innocuous. One or the other would suggest meeting at various parks, arcades, even the observatory, negotiating dates and times, and that was it.

Danny was a normal kid. Damian was a born and bred assassin. Why in the actual fuck were these two friends? Nothing made sense. Everyone else was happy to ignore it because of the peace the irrationality before them instilled. Tim wouldn’t become complacent. Whatever Danny was hiding, he’d find it.

I started following you recently, I think Tia is very pretty and your drawings are beautiful, is she in a romantic relationship with some character?

Well, no but technically yes. But also yes, but technically no 🫣 I’ll explain as best as I can because Tia and romance is complicated.

Tia isn’t actually in any romantic relationship at all. So, my first gut answer is just “no, she isn’t.” (Which is the most concrete definitive answer, I suppose.)

She was kind of built from the start to just be her own character to put in a version of the twst story I’d wanna see (As any usual MC does.) 😩 So, romance just wasn’t really on the table. Though, mind, Tia is also just … the way she is. She’s a “princess tiana” type. It’s not a priority for her, so naturally it’s rarely- if ever- brought up.

THAT SAID!! I’m just really casual about shipping Tia in general, so she’s just sort of shipped with almost everybody without any real commitment on my end. I just like dynamics being explored should they go in that direction. So, it’s not completely out of the question.

I do have some pairings I ended up leaning more towards than others, to the point even I was surprised by them (y’know how when characters may take on a life of their own in a way? It’s like that), but otherwise I try to stay “hands off” with this stuff. I don’t think I’ll ever truly have her “canonically” be in any romantic relationship. If only to stay open ended. But, others are free to think what they want. I wouldn’t want to stifle anybody.

BUT - listen - I do enjoy a good romance 😩 and i like the thought of setting her up like I’m a stuffy aristocratic mom showing off her daughter to the many bachelors at a debutante ball kgjfjdulgjfh I like the hypotheticals. If a twst menu voiceline or innocuous piece of dialog in a story sends me into brainrot, then of course im going internally crazy jfhdgfhdh

Besides, Tia isn’t gonna get ANY romance if he has anything to say about it——

most of the "kids" that get involved in these disasters tend to either have several adults helping or are like. 16/17 so damn near an adult. hell, theres usually some kinda outrage that TEENAGERS had to solve the problems. entire investiagtions into what the government was doing, very intensive questioning for the kids and their guardians. we dont let 10 year olds run around fighting evil teams that would be insane. hell most of them dont even wanna be heroes they just kinda end up being involved. most smaller disasters get solved by the adults because im gonna be honest you guys cannot go after my mom for not parenting me well anymore if youre all just letting kids beef with mafia bosses and not being horrified.

one of the worst parts about being a watcher fan rn is that in theory I think having paywalled series isn't that bad and people are being needlessly eat the rich about it, but on a personal level the two series I don't like and don't watch are ghost files and dish granted, and they're the most expensive shows to produce....... Like I'm seeing a potential solution here

My all time favorite shiny hunts though ARE the oddly specific ones though. LIKE ESPP if they're full odds but have a gimmick to them --

Most famous one ofc is the HG/SS starter hunt!!! Where you can check all three starters for shininess before choosing one:

Unfortunately!!!! This guy has my deadname as the OT LMFAOOO but it was a cool hunt!! Just under odds (around 7000 resets)

BUT. THE SCARY OPTION.

Doing double battle hunts w any of the companions that can join you temporarily in DPPt is fucking WILD and STUPID and extremely rewarding! Unless if you somehow by some monkey paw's luck run into two shinies at once. Then your game freezes!!!!!!!!! 😇

MIRACULOUSLY I got my target though under odds (around 3000) no phases no game freezing catastrophies!!!! 🫡

They live in different files now! I. Have a bad habit of starting new files and then forgetting. And abandoning them at any point. And feeling like I need to start over again. BUT whenever I DO start over it's VERY cool to have a low level shiny to play through with!! 😅 And ofc in these files I can't really start anew without it being more trouble than it's worth, so. I may return. Eventually........

And. Not technically full odds but how could I talk Oddly Specific Hunts and not mention:
