This kujimate was so much fun!! They both were really relaxed, and called a lot about their history together. Iirc, Sugita said he remembers his first time working with Hirarin, something called Ayashi no Ceres, and how kind and gentle he was. Hirarin would check on him, asking if he was OK during the recording. At the time, Sugita was only 19! It's It's cute how he calls Hirarin "onii-chan" 😄

I don't know if it's of interest to anyone here, but @elenatria, @progressi9 and I were in Lithuania for a week and had some emotional and exciting moments at the HBO Chernobyl locations. 😁

At the palace of culture and sports we interrupted some current filming and discovered Boris' armchair.

In Fabijoniškės we learned from which rooftops the scenes were shot and where CGI Chernobyl was located.

In the KGB prison it was pleasantly chilly with 34 degrees outside.

We saw shooting stars on the Alley of Sigitas Geda.

They're the same picture.

The Bench Scene in Pravieniškės without the bench but right next to a prison, quite secluded and tranquil and without a cab driver for the ride back.

And at the Amsterdam School Museum, Valery's appartment (directly across the street from our hotel) we learned about the Jewish, gay former occupant of the appartment and how important this place was to HBO, as well as how important it was to them to decorate the entire appartment, including the inside of the fridge, in Soviet style. Or how Valery's cat was almost fed dry food. 

And then there is the back door that could be used to visit Valery's appartment hidden from the eyes of the KGB. 😏

I can only summarise it by saying that it was incredibly unique and emotional and I learned to appreciate every place, every scene we visited in a whole new way.

I can still hardly believe everything we learned, especially from our wonderful guide and host in Valery's appartment.

Latvian family flees Sweden fearing for child's fate

The program tells how the first call from social services caught the parents of a six-year-old girl by surprise in the middle of the workday.

The caller, without going into details, said that both parents should immediately come to social services. They immediately went to the specified address. At the office, they were met by two female officers who said that they were ready to immediately remove the child from the family.

"At first, we did not understand at all what was going on, why? What was going on? No one explains anything at all... Like, the child said at school that we were using violence against him at home," says Sigita, a mother of three children.

"There is always this feeling that you will lose your child: you come to school and they will not give her back. I have not done anything bad to the child, but they tell me that I have," the mother says.

In mid-November, Sigita was taken aback by her child's question.

"My little daughter tells us that probably another mother would not buy gingerbread cookies like me and probably would not be so cool. Swedish children do not eat sweets in the middle of the week. I ask, what other mother, what are you talking about? And she says, well, that other mother," the woman recalls.

On November 18, both parents were unexpectedly called to the social services again. When Sigita and her husband arrived there, they already had a signed decision in front of them that the child would be taken from their family and given to another family.

Sigita spent 2 hours talking to social workers, trying to find out whether a proper investigation had really been carried out to make such a decision, or whether they relied solely on the child's words? In addition, she concluded that the child's interrogation was conducted in Swedish without the presence of an interpreter.

Sigita's husband was the first to leave the office and rush home to get the passports to take the child away, and Sigita demanded to be given the opportunity to talk to the employee who signed the decision. Left alone with him, she heard information that shocked her.

"We found a very, very good Swedish family for your child. She will be very happy there." I tell them: do you even understand that you are taking away Latvian children? Who will read her a fairy tale in Latvian tonight? She says that she has bad dreams if she is not read to at night. She cries then. She has cousins, two older sisters. Do you think this good Swedish family will be able to give her all this?" - the mother shares her worries in 4.studija.

However, even the boss who was called in said that the decision cannot be changed.

My blood runs cold whenever I read such stories. It reminds me of historical records of how school teachers in Nazi Germany were paid to find children of "Arian race", and then, the parents of those kids mysteriously disappeared. Social services in Nordics is more like a terroristic organisation based on news, the talks of my friends who live/used to live there there, and even Swedes themselves, e.g., "Second Life of Ove/The Man Named Ove" novel. Seems like they have the working norm of amount of children they must abduct to get salary; and who knows what they do to those poor children afterwards: black market, prostitution?... It's been like this for more than 20 years.
