"Entrée de Jeanne d'Arc à Orléans"
by Jean-Jacques Scherrer
Oil Painting, 1887.
Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Orléans.
HISTORY
Joan of Arc (one of the many spellings of her name) is one of France's patron saints and was honored for her role in the Siege of Orléans (1428-1429) during the Hundred Years' War (1337-1453).
She grew up as a peasant, her father being a farmer, but she had divine visions that she was visited and guided by archangel Micheal, Saint Margaret, and Saint Catherine. After having these sights, Joan acted accordingly, joining forces with the French by gaining respect for her piety and firmness, swaying Captain Robert de Baudricourt into her favor.
Long story short (definitely watch a video or read about her history instead of going off of my quick knowledge, in case you're interested and I miss certain facts... soz): Joan of Arc promised Dauphin Charles that he would be coronated at Reims if he allowed her to fight the English. Yeah... they were skeptical—mainly due to Joan being a 16-17-year-old woman at the time—so Charles had sacerdotal authorities interrogate her. After review, and considering the devastating turnout of Orléans (which has been under British siege), the clergy decided it'd be best for Charles to use the young woman as she's asking to be involved.
Assigned to join in taking back Orléans, Joan arrives with supplies on the 19th of April, 1429, alongside Commander Étienne de Vignolles (or *thank God for nicknames* La Hire). May 4th was when things started to pick up, the French launching an attack, which the saint almost missed due to napping (hey, I get it), and in the meantime, Joan sent out letters to the British, basically telling them to fuck off her land before a sword gets shoved up a not so divine place. On the 7th, Joan was WIA, but that didn't stop her from continuing her duty, and by the 8th, the British surrendered.
Joan of Arc is widely remembered as a woman who faced perseverance when it was uncommon for a woman combatant to exist, especially one who instantly rose to the top, fighting as a leader amongst male French commanders. Even burned at the stake by the English around the age of 19, Joan kept her faith, the same that got her onto the battlefield and was depicted proudly on the flag she waved. In 1920, she was finally recognized by the Roman Catholic Church and canonized by Pope Benedict XV as a patron saint for her home country. She's respected as a martyr and seen as a symbol of freedom, not only in a patriotic context but as a feminist (as she is hailed as one of the earliest feminists in middle-age history).
Tumblr media
Again, I beg of you, if you are interested in learning more about the Siege of Orléans and/or Saint Joan of Arc, check out a video or pick up a book on the topic. I'm terrible at regurgitating historical information, especially when I haven't gotten any sleep. I'm not a historian, just a 19-year-old girl who likes to post art (ಠ_ಠ).

Uttara Bhadrapada & Revati: Psychic Insight, Time Travel & Dreams
In my last post about Punarvasu & Swati, I had briefly gone into their association with time travel but in my research since I have found that Pisces rashi (0-3 degress Purvabhadrapada, Uttarabhadrapada & Revati) is also connected to time travel, as well as with psychic powers and using these abilities to solve crimes, prevent disasters or save others. This is an important distinction because not everybody uses their paranormal/supernatural powers to do good necessarily.
The word spirituality has been so over used in the last decade or so that it has now kind of lost all meaning as most people don't understand it in its true sense of transcending the material but instead as a way to play around with crystals or tarot or astrology, engaging with these tools in the most shallow way possible and using it as a balm to remain in the loop of earthly attachment.
Some people are born with an inherent understanding of what it means to be connected to the spirit. Due to the way religion & belief are often structured, not all of these people will identify their own beliefs as spiritual ones but you've got to admit that some people are just naturally intuitive and capable of understanding things in a way that goes beyond education or any taught knowledge. What is intuition though? Is it just a profound inner knowing? Usually, it is a combination of several things, including observational skills, the ability to be perceptive and understand what lies beyond the surface, deduction etc. Intuition isn't always knowledge from the beyond but it can also refer to the ability to read a room or a person and be emotionally intelligent enough to behave accordingly.
I am by no means suggesting that all Pisces natives are this way. They are not. But I have noticed several Pisces natives possessing a heightened sense of perception & intuition. This is just water sign culture tbh and as you'll see in the post, also extends to other rashis/nakshatras.
Tumblr media
Derren Brown, the British magician & mentalist is a UBP Moon. He's a skeptic himself and has repeatedly said he does not possess any psychic powers but he's never really gone into his methods either. You could say that he has astute observational skills that makes his performances truly one of a kind but its pretty incredible to train yourself to do what he does; you can only build on the natural acumen you possess.
youtube
Tumblr media
The Sixth Sense is a pretty iconic film in the "child has visions" genre and it stars Haley Joel Osment, Revati sun & mercury as well as Bruce Willis who is UBP Sun
Bruce also starred in a movie (also directed by M Night Shyamalan) called Unbreakable where his character has psychometric powers.
Tumblr media
Psych is detective comedy drama series (very underrated imo) that features a guy who possesses eidetic memory and great observation skills and uses it to convince the police department he is a psychic.
James Roday Rodriguez who plays this character has Revati sun & mercury, Venus in Pisces (2 degree Purvabhadrapada )
Tumblr media
Patricia Arquette stars as a psychic medium in the show Medium (honestly the police department x psychic consultant is one of my fav tropes of 2000s television). She has a Revati stellium (sun, saturn & rahu) and UBP mercury and venus.
Tumblr media
Salma Hayek, UBP Moon, plays a psychic medium in House of Gucci (based on a true story)
Tumblr media
Devon Sawa who played the main character on Final Destination (he has premonitions and tries to help others avoid death) has Ketu in UBP
Tumblr media
Joan of Arc, UBP Moon went to King Charles at the age of 17 as she was guided by visions from the archangel Michael, Saint Margaret, and Saint Catherine to help him save France from English domination. Convinced of her devotion and purity, Charles sent Joan, to the siege of Orléans as part of a relief army. After several military defeats in which Joan played a role, she was put on trial by Bishop Pierre Cauchon on accusations of heresy, which included blaspheming by wearing men's clothes, acting upon demonic visions, and refusing to submit her words and deeds to the judgment of the church. She was declared guilty and burned at the stake on 30 May 1431, aged about nineteen.
Tumblr media
Baffled is a movie about a race car driver who has psychic visions. He is played by Leonard Nimoy who has UBP Sun, Mercury in Revati (amatyakaraka) & Rahu and Swati Rising (Swati is a nakshatra that is associated with ESP but more on that later).
Tumblr media
The Dead Zone is about a man who wakes up from a 5yr coma and learns he has psychic abilities. Christopher Walken who plays this man has Revati sun & UBP mercury (being in a coma/waking up from sleep is also a very Pisces theme a la Sleeping Beauty)
Tumblr media
In Doctor Sleep, a sequel to The Shining, Ewan McGregor plays Danny Torrance (who has psychic abilities). He has UBP Sun
Tumblr media
Harry's ability to see things is kinda overlooked (in Goblet of Fire for instance when he makes those predictions in Trelawney's class). We know that he sees a lot of stuff due to his connection with the Dark Lord but still. Harry's intuition has saved his ass on more than one occasion. Daniel Radcliffe has UBP Moon.
Tumblr media
The Initiation of Sarah is a movie about a nice girl who is bullied by her sorority sisters and then unleashes her psychic powers to get even. Kay Lenz who plays her has Mars in Revati atmakaraka, UBP mercury (swati moon & rising)
Tumblr media
Nostradamus who had prophetic visions of the future (many of which have come true) had Rahu & Rising in UBP
This brings me to Pisces' connection to time travel because if you think about it having premonitions and making prophecies is tied to an ability to see into the future; you are mentally time travelling.
I have noticed that in several instances Pisces natives are cast in time-travel movies.
Tumblr media
Nathan Fillion who was in Firefly & Serenity (time travel series & movie) had UBP sun, Revati moon atmakaraka
Tumblr media
Bliss (2021) a movie about alternate realities accessed through drug induced hallucinations??? (i dont know for sure the plot is kinda dense) stars Salma Hayek, UBP Moon and Owen Wilson, Swati Moon with Saturn in Revati atmakaraka
Tumblr media
Predestination is a time travel movie starring Sarah Snook who has Revati moon & jupiter
Tumblr media
Joseph Gordon Levitt, UBP rising stars in the time-travel movie Looper as a hitman from the future who has to kill himself.
Tumblr media
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a movie about a girl who can travel through time, its directed by Mamoru Hosoda who has UBP Moon and Saturn
Tumblr media
La Jetee is an experimental French short film about a man who travels through time to understand the past/present/future of WW3. Its directed by Chris Marker who has Ketu in Revati
Pisces is kind of obviously connected to the story of Sleeping Beauty (I'll explore this more in a separate post) but I think Pisces and dreaming (not sleeping but dreaming) are also connected.
Tumblr media
Joseph Gordon Levitt, UBP Rising stars in Inception a movie about dream thieves essentially
Tumblr media
Werner Krauss, Ketu in Revati starred in The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari (1920) as a hypnotist who uses a somnambulist to commit murders.
Tumblr media
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep etc was made my Michel Gondry who has Venus in Revati amatyakaraka (he is also Punarvasu Rising but I'll discuss more in my post about Surrealism)
Tumblr media
Dreams (1990) is a movie by Akira Kurosawa and is based on 8 dreams he had. He is UBP Sun & Punarvasu Rising
Tumblr media
Dreams That Money Can Buy is a surrealist film about a guy who sells his dreams to others. Its directed by Hans Richter who has Revati Sun
Tumblr media
All of Miyazaki's movies have a dream-like quality and one is literally a dream (won't spoil by saying which one hehe). He is UBP Moon.
I have noticed many Shatabhisha natives be drawn to similar themes and tropes in their work.
Tumblr media
Dreamscape is a movie about a psychic who works for the President of America. Its directed by Joseph Ruben who is Shatabhisha Sun & Jupiter (he also has Venus in UBP) and stars Dennis Quaid (Punarvasu Moon) as the psychic.
Tumblr media
Firestarter is a movie about a child with psychic powers and stars Drew Barrymore who is Shatabhisha Sun & Punarvasu Moon
Tumblr media
Jennifer Love Hewitt, Shatabhisha Moon starred in The Ghost Whisperer as a person who can communicate with ghosts.
Tumblr media
Sissy Spacek starred in Carrie about a girl who has supernatural powers. She has Shatabhisha Moon
Tumblr media
Scott Bakula who starred in Quantum Leap, a TV series about a scientist stuck in time, has Shatabhisha Moon
I hope this post was interesting and informative, pls lmk if you have any other examples!!

Throughout history, women have left an undeniable impact on society with their hard work, creativity, and dedication to progress. Unfortunately, their accomplishments have often gone unnoticed, been undervalued, or even stolen. Despite these challenges, brave women of today continue to push boundaries, break barriers, and pave the way for a more fair and equal world. It's our duty to keep going, so that future generations of women can inherit a kinder, more just, and supportive world. By following in the footsteps of the incredible women who came before us, we can create a world where every woman can flourish and succeed, and where their contributions are recognized and celebrated.

Rani Lakshmibai was the Maharani consort of the princely state of Jhansi from 1843 to 1853. She was one of the leading figures in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 became a symbol of resistance to the British rule in India for Indian nationalists. When the Maharaja died in 1853, the British East India Company under Governor-General Lord Dalhousie refused to recognize the claim of his adpoted heir and annexed Jhansi under the Doctrine of Lapse. She rode into battle with her infant son strapped to her back, and died in June 1858 after being mortally wounded during the British counterattack at Gwalior.
Rosalind Franklin was a British chemist and X-ray crystallographer whose work was instrumental in the discovery of the structure of DNA. Her contributions were largely overlooked by her male colleagues, James Watson and Francis Crick, who used her data without her permission or acknowledgement. This theft of her intellectual property and erasure of her contributions is a prime example of the systemic sexism that has historically plagued the scientific community.
Hedy Lamarr was an Austrian-American actress and inventor who co-invented a frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology during World War II that was used to guide torpedoes. However, her contributions were largely ignored and dismissed by male engineers and the military at the time. It was only later in life that she received recognition for her scientific achievements.
Emma Weyant is an American competitive swimmer. She was the US national champion at the individual medley. She qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in the 400m individual medley and won the silver medal in this event. Weyant finished second in the 500-yard freestyle at the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. She was beaten by William (Lia) Thomas, a fetishist, who when competing as a member of the Penn men's team, which was 2018-19, ranked 554th in the 200 freestyle, 65th in the 500 freestyle and 32nd in the 1650 freestyle. Weyant is the fastest swimmer in the 500-yard freestyle and had her position stolen by a man.
Maryna Viazovska is a Ukrainian mathematician who made a breakthrough in sphere packing, solving the centuries-old mathematical problem known as the densest packing of spheres in dimensions 8 and 24. She was awarded the Fields Medal in July 2022, making her the second woman (after Maryam Mirzakhani), the second person born in the Ukrainian SSR and the first with a degree from a Ukrainian university to ever receive it.
Hannie Schaft was a Dutch resistance fighter during World War II who played a crucial role in the resistance movement against Nazi occupation. Schaft was a former university student who dropped out because she refused to sign a pledge of loyalty to Germany. Nazis arrested and killed her in 1945, just three weeks before the war ended in Europe. According to lore, Schaft’s last words were, “I’m a better shot,” after initially only being wounded by her executioner.
Shakuntala Devi was an Indian mathematician and mental calculator who was known as the "Human Computer" for her exceptional ability to perform complex mathematical calculations in her head. Her extraordinary abilities earned her a place in the 1982 Guinness Book of Records. Her lesser known achievement is that in 1977 she wrote what is considered to be the first book in India on homosexuality titled “The World of Homosexuals.”
J. K. Rowling is a British author and philanthropist. She wrote Harry Potter, a seven-volume children's fantasy series published from 1997 to 2007. Known for her philanthropy, she was doxxed and harassed after coming out with support for women's and gay rights in 2020. Rowling secretly donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to save 100 female lawyers and their families facing murder in Afghanistan. In 2022, she funded a women's only rape shelter in Edinburgh.

JUNE OF ARC continues!  Mondays and Fridays all June long!
___
JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. After Joan finally acquired an escort from Sir Robert, she journeyed across hostile territory to Chinon to meet the dauphin.  It was for this journey that she cut her hair short and wore male clothes.  In addition to making it easier to ride, run, and fight (if necessary), Joan seemed to feel her purity was better protected by male clothes as she traveled through lands infested with raiders and bandits.  As for who inspired her to don this disguise, she's vague about it when asked in her trial.  Depending on the source, she either charges no one, or says that only her Voices told her, and no living man. 2. In this cartoon, we skip a lot of boring stuff.  Basically the dauphin wanted to be sure Joan wasn't crazy or evil before he risked face by endorsing her.  He sent her to some theological scholars for rigorous days of testing.  First, some nuns verified her virginity, which was important because, back then, only virgins were believed to receive divine visions.  Virginity also meant she hadn't cavorted with devils to acquire magic, which is just fully the most cracked thing I've ever heard.  Anyway, she passed, so then she was questioned by doctors of religion, where she was found to be of decent Catholic upbringing.  The scholars even scraped together a few vague prophecies -- regarding a maid who would save France -- to support her since she seemed somewhat legit.  With no way to know for sure, however, the dauphin decided to just send her to Orléans.  She said her first mission was to raise the siege there, so why not let her go to prove whether God was really guiding her? 3. "Cross-dressing" means dressing in clothes meant for the opposite sex.  In Joan's time, cross-dressing was considered a sin unless it was done for a good reason, like practical necessity or guarding one's chastity (both of which defined Joan's use of men's clothes).  In this cartoon, one of the scholars warns the dauphin that Joan's cross-dressing could be risky if people don't see it the right way.  He obviously means "cross-dressing" as in "wearing the other sex's clothes", but Joan thinks he means it as in "wearing an actual cross", so she asks if she can carry her cross instead of wearing it.  This is funny.

Joan of Arc
Artist Peter Paul Rubens (Flemish, 1577 - 1640)
Style: Baroque
Date: circa 1620 and after 1640
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Collection: North Carolina Museum of Art
Description
This painting depicts Joan of Arc, a French peasant born during the Hundred Years’ War (around 1412). She had visions in which Catholic saints told her she would save France from the English. She was about 17 years old when she courageously led French troops against the English siege of Orléans in 1429. The siege of Orléans had been going on for six months when Joan of Arc and her troops arrived. Nine days after they joined the fight, the siege was lifted.
Joan was 19 years old when she was captured by the English and their French allies and burned at the stake for heresy, or “deviant” behavior (which included wearing men’s clothing) in 1431. Joan of Arc is a well-known martyr (a person who is killed because of their beliefs). In 1920 the Catholic Church declared her a saint. She is the patron saint of soldiers and of France.
Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens is best known for his religious and mythological paintings. He is considered the most influential artist of the Flemish baroque tradition. He painted Joan of Arc more than 200 years after she was killed, during the ongoing war between the Protestant Dutch and the Catholic Flemings. This painting represents the artist’s religious beliefs and the importance that the Catholic Church placed on honoring its martyrs and heroes.

On April 29th 1429 Joan of Arc arrived to relieve the Siege of Orléans.
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” This ancient saying has been invoked many times throughout history, but one of the most successful examples of this logic was the Auld Alliance between France and Scotland.
Although the Auld Alliance was founded out of a mutual hatred of England in 1295, the French and the Scots grew closer over time. France sent significant aid to Scotland, particularly during their Second War of Independence against England. In return, Scotland reinforced the French army during the Hundred Years’ War.
It was during the latter days of the Hundred Years’ War that the French King created an elite personal bodyguard comprised of Scottish warriors called the Garde Écossaises(Scottish Guard).
Scottish forces served in the French military throughout most of the Hundred Years’ War, earning a reputation as capable fighters in the process. A Scottish force under John Stewart, Earl of Buchan, and Sir John Stewart of Darnley arrived in France in 1419 to great fanfare.
The Dauphin (heir apparent to the French throne) was in desperate need of help as his father, King Charles VI, suffered from a form of insanity and had few allies. For his own safety, the Dauphin picked out around 100 of the finest Scottish warriors to be his personal bodyguard, thus creating what would come to be known as the Garde Écossaise. In its early days, the Garde was primarily composed of archers, with some men-at-arms.
The Dauphin took further actions to secure Scottish loyalty. The Earl of Buchan was given land at Châtillon-sur-Indre, Stewart of Darnley was provided with land at Concressault and Aubigny, and several other Scottish leaders received land and castles, this was even before they even fought a battle on French soil!
However, that soon changed at the Battle of Baugé, as the French were still reeling from the Battle of Agincourt. The Scots’ performance at Baugé ended up leading to one of their most heroic victories.
Accounts of the battle vary by source, but it is clear that the English, under the Duke of Clarence, attempted to catch the Franco-Scottish force off guard. However, the Scots turned the tide of the battle by holding their ground at a bridge as the English tried to cross.
French forces soon reinforced them, leaving the English badly outnumbered as they had only brought part of their force for this assault. The English eventually forced their way across the bridge but were met and outflanked by the larger force. The Duke of Clarence was killed in the melee, and the English force was routed.
In return for their service, Scottish leaders were granted more lands. The Earl of Buchan was given the title Constable of France, essentially making him commander of the French armies. Unfortunately for the Scots, this success did not last.
The French-Scottish force suffered a crushing defeat at the Battle of Cravant during which Buchan was captured. The French forces fell back during an attempted river crossing, and the Scots were cut down as they stood alone against the English.
Buchan was exchanged but then killed during another disastrous defeat at the Battle of Verneuil after French troops once again retreated early in the battle and left the Scots to face the English alone.
However, the Garde Écossaise remained and continued to prove themselves throughout the Hundred Years’ War and beyond.
In 1429, a mere five years after the French-Scottish defeat at Cravant, Joan of Arc marched into Orléans to the sound of bagpipes. She entered the city accompanied by a guard of around 60 Scottish men-at-arms and 70 archers. The pipers played Hey Tuttie Tatie – the song that, legend has it, was played for Robert the Bruce as he marched into battle at Bannockburn.
In fact, Scottish soldiers made up a significant portion of the relief army as a whole in addition to Joan’s guard.
The pics are, Joan of Arc enters Orléans by Jean-Jacques Scherrer, 1887 and Jehanne d'Arc et sa Garde écossaise. Painting by John Duncan, Scottish symbolist painter.

Legendary Warrior Women of the Ancient World
Once upon a time, there were women who challenged the might of empires and the laws of men.
They beckoned a world where the whisper of a woman's voice could quake the thrones of tyrants.
Let's delve into these legends from antiquity. 🧵⤵️
Tumblr media
Hatshepsut
The fifth pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt, Hatshepsut reigned longer than any other woman of an indigenous Egyptian dynasty.
She was one of the most prolific builders in Ancient Egypt.
To legitimize her reign, Hatshepsut claimed she was divinely conceived by the god Amun, who appeared to her mother in the guise of the pharaoh Thutmose I, her father.
Tumblr media
Sappho
An ancient Greek poet from the island of Lesbos, Sappho is celebrated for her lyric poetry, which explores love and passion.
Legend says that Sappho leaped from the Leucadian cliffs due to her unrequited love for Phaon, a ferryman, demonstrating the depth of her emotional expressions that permeated her work.
Tumblr media
Artemisia I of Caria
A queen of the ancient Greek city-state of Caria and an ally of Xerxes I during the Second Persian invasion of Greece.
In the Battle of Salamis, Artemisia was so cunning in combat that she intentionally rammed her ally's ship to escape the Greeks, convincing them she was an ally and thus avoiding capture.
Tumblr media
Hypatia
A mathematician, astronomer and philosopher in Alexandria, Egypt, Hypatia was a renowned teacher and thinker.
Hypatia was known to drive through Alexandria in her chariot to deliver public lectures on philosophy, defying the gender expectations of her time.
Tumblr media
Boudicca
The warrior queen of the Iceni tribe who led a major uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire in Britain.
After the Romans flogged Boudicca and raped her daughters, she rallied her tribe and neighboring tribes for revenge, resulting in the destruction of Roman settlements and the decimation of the Roman Ninth Legion.
Tumblr media
The Trung Sisters: Trung Trac and Trung Nhi
Vietnamese military leaders who rebelled against Chinese Han dynasty rule, becoming enduring symbols of resistance.
The sisters, after witnessing the suffering of their people under Chinese rule, famously declared their independence by proclaiming:
"All the male heroes bowed their heads in submission; only the two sisters proudly stood up to avenge the country."
Tumblr media
Khawlah bint al-Azwar
A legendary female Muslim warrior, she fought alongside the early Muslims in the battles against the Byzantine Empire.
Khawlah famously donned male warrior’s armor to rescue her brother from a Byzantine prison camp, charging into battle with such ferocity that opponents assumed she was a supernatural entity.
Tumblr media
Joan of Arc
A French heroine and saint of the Catholic Church, Joan led French forces to victory over the English at Orléans.
Joan persuaded a skeptical Charles VII of France of her divine mission to save France by correctly predicting a military reversal at the Siege of Orleans, before any messenger could have reached them with the news.
Tumblr media
Zenobia
The third-century queen of the Palmyrene Empire in Syria who challenged the authority of the Roman Empire.
Zenobia was so bold that she claimed descent from Cleopatra, positioning herself as the Egyptian queen's successor in defiance of Rome and marched her armies as far as Egypt and Anatolia.
Tumblr media
Cleopatra VII
The last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, Cleopatra is known for her intelligence, political acumen, and dramatic love affairs.
In a famous encounter to secure her alliance with Julius Caesar, Cleopatra had herself wrapped in a carpet (or linen sack, according to some accounts) and delivered to him, emerging to charm Caesar with her wit and beauty.

Would you survive if in an attempt to wedge some 19th century French politics into the series they have Sisi's other pretty sister Mathilde married the exiled Duke of Orleans whose mother was Queen Victoria's first cousin (I'm kind of combining a bit of the Comte de Paris into the Comte d'Eu in my nonsense)?
Hello anon! I assume that by "the series" you mean Die Kaiserin right? Well Sisi's youngest sister Sophie married the younger brother of the Comte d'Eu. You don't need to invent anything to write the exiled Orléans into the series lol. But following a bit your AU, I guess they could make Alençon the elder brother instead? Or again, The Tudors route and fuse two sisters into one, giving "Mathilde" Sophie's storyline. Personally I would hate this though lol stop erasing Spatz!! She literally only appears in one scene in Visconti's Ludwig for two seconds.
Speaking of Sophie, @sisionscreen and I wondered if the screenwriters of Die Kaiserin would write her into the series next season or not. In the episode set in Possenhofen we see only three of Elisabeth's seven siblings: Marie, Mapperl and an unnamed little girl. As she is significantly younger than Marie she should be Sophie, however given that this show treats repeating names like an allergy I fear that if she appears next season she will also suffer from a name change.
Tumblr media
Also I don't know if anyone remembers this, but in the first episode of Die Kaiserin we see one of Elisabeth's younger sisters, although she isn't named. I suppose she is now retroactively Marie, but I believe that in the novelization of the series she is Spatz. I can't say for certain though, as I haven't read it myself.
All this being said Katharina Eyssen has already her hands full with all the events that next season should cover, I don't know if she'll want to add another sister on top of that (unless she drops Marie's storyline and we don't get the Siege of Gaeta).

THIS IS ABOUT REVENGE….
the castle is crumbling down.
PLOT DROP 001.
A shrill scream rattled through the courtyard of the Lal Qila palace just as dawn began to crest on the horizon. As guards of all nations rush to the scene of the commotion, panic spreads like wildfire on the sleepy lips of the rest, and talk of an attack flooded through the halls. Abdullah Hasan is the first to intercept the intruders, flanked quickly by Cailean Alexander Fergusson, Otto Estrada, and Ashikawa Satoshi. There was a brief clash of arms, resulting in various injuries to all four of them, until Prince Angelo Tolentino arrived to the fight and recognized some familiar faces, and called for a pause in the violence. By now, everyone had gathered to watch, many still in their nightclothes, clinging to their loved ones, watching from windows and balconies or right there in the courtyard. With the help of Suzume Sõ and Ariyan Banerjee working to smooth the tension between military parties, finally, the royal Chakri family, leaders of the Thailand Kingdom, emerge from the fray. Directly following behind them is the national French military, under the command of the French Prime Minister in conjunction with the royal Orléans family, looking more curious than anything else.
It is there under the purple and pink-hued sky that the Chakri rulers explain the reason behind their sudden, and forceful, arrival. With heavy hearts, it is announced that the Chakri rulers experienced their own loss; the death of their heirs, two young children. Having little military power of their own, they call upon their French allies to aid in the fight. Attention turns to the Empress Sharma-Thimmana and her spouse Eesha Sharma. They state; "Clearly the Mughal Empire has no handle on things, as we have still suffered, yet received no invitation. The time for frivolous balls and niceties are over."
With exits blocked and the might of the French military at the helm, the Chakri rulers force a LOCKDOWN at Lal Qila. No one in and no one out, until a thorough search of every apartment is conducted by the French military. All residing in Lal Qila are escorted back to their chambers, held to their seats until all is inspected. Papers searched, trunks overturned, and possessions confiscated by the Thai and French contingencies. The King of Egypt, Achillas Badi, balked at the violation of his family's privacy, questioning the authority of the new kingdoms. After a heated argument and swords drawn in the corridor, Damian Bonaparte intervenes and appeal to his French cousins to bring civility back to the fray. Once the inspection is complete, the residents are allowed to roam Lal Qila once more. Though there is no rest for the wicked, and as nightfall comes, little sleep is had under the siege of enemy kingdoms.
After a long, tense day and sleepless night, the residents are called the next morning to an invitation to dinner that evening in the grand hall. All shall gather to discuss next steps and the true spearhead of the investigation. Neither a pen drop or a breath could be heard, as tense silence filled the grand hall.
That is, until a scandalized cry echoes through the dining hall. Vinnie Guerrero led a parade of several individuals under arrest and shackled together. With exclamation, princesses Parvati and Raveena Sharma demand the immediate release of the prisoners. Once more, chaos is unleashed as the French rulers refuse to release the “intruders.” Food is thrown every which way, swords are drawn, and the doors are blocked, resulting in more injuries as the confusion takes over. Princesses Kaiming Qing and Ziyi Qing were, unfortunately, closest to the outbreak and were quickly escorted to the infirmary. It was Princess Evelyn Stuart, aided by Leith Cathal, who managed to release the prisoners after realizing that her Lady Eleonora Alderberg had been wrongfully arrested with the others.
Finally, the “intruders” have a chance to say their piece. After introducing themselves as the newly independent royal family of Madagascar, the Ratsifi rulers condemn both France and Thailand for their actions, past and present. They were there on official invitation from the Sharma royal family, to offer support and strength in the investigation. Princess Joanna Stuart is the first to stand, pledging their support against France and Thailand’s demand for leadership in the investigation. Silence fell over the forgotten meal… until Aaliyah Soloman stood to pledge support to the new arrivals, insisting that they be given an equal chance to hunt for answers. To end the disagreement, it was decided that come morning, nations would choose to engage with who they saw fit moving forward.
When the next morning dawned, there were massive portraits hung in the main hall of each fallen royal - including the two newest deaths of the young heirs. The Chakri royals claim to have commissioned and hung them up as a show of good faith, and to earn the loyalty and trust of those who may still wish to place it otherwise.
Two investigations. One palace. A number of unearthed secrets.

Joan OF Arch.
Tumblr media
Joan of Arc, also known as Jeanne d'Arc in French, was a remarkable historical figure who played a crucial role in the Hundred Years' War between France and England. Born in Domrémy, a village in northeastern France, in 1412, she became known for her staunch faith and her pivotal role in French history.
At the age of 18, Joan of Arc claimed to have received visions from saints urging her to support Charles VII, the uncrowned King of France, and to help him reclaim the throne from the English. Inspired by her visions, she gained approval from local officials to travel to the siege of Orléans, where she played a crucial role in the French victory.
Following the victory at Orléans, Joan of Arc accompanied Charles VII to Reims, where he was crowned King of France in 1429. Her actions had a tangible impact on the war, and she became a symbol of French resilience and nationalism.
Unfortunately, Joan of Arc was captured by the Burgundians, who allied with the English, and she was eventually handed over to the English. She faced trial for heresy and witchcraft, and despite her steadfastness and defense, she was ultimately executed by burning at the stake in Rouen in 1431 at the age of 19.
Subsequently, Joan of Arc became the subject of veneration in France and was later canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1920. Her legacy endures as a symbol of French patriotism, religious fervor, and the indomitable spirit of an iconic historical figure.

Tribute 56: Joan of Arc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A French military leader during the Hundred Years' War against England
Claimed to have had visions of the archangel Michael, Saint Margaret, and Saint Catherine throughout her life guiding her to help save France from English domination
When she was 17, she was sent as part of a relief army to the siege of Orléans. Nine days after she arrived, the English abandoned the siege
From there, she participated in other battles, often on the front lines, until she was captured and put on trial on accusations of heresy
Declared guilty and burned at the stake at the age of around 19
Her trial would later be reinvestigated and the verdict overturned, and later again she was declared one of the patron saints of France

JUNE OF ARC continues!  Mondays and Fridays all June long!
JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. When Joan was 16 years old, the English were sieging the city of Orléans, and her Voices told her it was her job to banish them.  She had to go to Vaucouleurs, acquire knightly escort from Sir Robert, travel through enemy territory to Chinon, meet the dauphin (the uncrowned prince of France), offer her leadership to his army, go to Orléans, raise the siege, then escort the dauphin through more enemy territory to be crowned in the city of Reims (which was the traditional place for French coronations).  Super easy.  Barely an inconvenience. 2. Sir Robert de Baudricourt met with Joan but denied her request for escort twice before finally giving in.  Her persistence won her the support of the townsfolk first, then some of Robert's knights, then finally Robert himself.  She's our perSISTER in Christ! 3. In this cartoon, Robert is suspicious of Joan, saying her request to see the dauphin can't be serious.  She assures him it "DAUPHIN-ately" is, which is a play on the word "definitely" using the word "dauphin".

DAILY ANGEL MESSAGE!
Take a deep breath, let it out slowly, say this prayer and then keep reading: “Thank you angels for revealing to me what I need to know!”
MESSAGE
Don’t be afraid of being your most authentic self. Don’t be afraid of the passion that is moving through you. Don’t be afraid of the power and gifts that you were born with. Right now, there is a huge opportunity for you to stand up for what you know and what you believe. You might feel as though the world is against you, but there’s something in your spirit that is telling you not to give up. If you feel unrecognized or misunderstood, don’t let this lack of validation get between you and what you know is right. Today’s message is a message of confirmation—you are on to something and it’s important that you don’t pull back. Keep going, keep driving, and keep pushing, because your truth will prevail.
The greatest support you can have is the support of the Universe. Call in the light of God and the angels and stand strong in your beliefs, because the challenge you are facing is an opportunity to understand the purpose of your life. Believe. Trust. Go!
ABOUT
Joan of Arc is a Roman Catholic saint and French heroine who is widely loved and respected for her role during the Siege of Orléans in the 15th century, during the Hundred Years War, when she was a warrior helping to push the English out of France.
Joan is reported to have been a visionary who encountered Archangel Michael and various saints from the age of 13 onward. Through these encounters, she developed the strength and courage that led her, at the age of 17, to experience the voice of God telling her to expel the English from France. And although there were challenges along the way, she was able to lead the French to victory at Orléans.
