#Lockdown #Life #Vlog I came to my father's house, in a village near Chennai, just before the lockdown was announced. Now that I'm here and locked down, I figured that I might as well make the most of it, by embracing the unique opportunities of the village life. Since I can, I'm making vlogs of some parts of these experiences. For someone who had previously only lived in cities (Chennai, Pune and Mumbai) moving to a village outside of Chennai was a drastic change of scene. But, it was an intentional shift and I quickly grew to enjoy the peace and solitude. The priorities and pace of life are very different in this universe - something that I find more relatable. In fact, I think moving to the village was one of the biggest reasons that I was able to break away from all that I knew and begin to discover and create a whole new reality for myself. More about that later though... For now, here's a little glimpse into my version of the village life. Loud Library - Shades of Loud

November 2020 - Loud Library is a band with a focus on creating engaging music that blurs the lines between a wide variety of styles. From the edgy aesthetics of indie music, to the expansive melodies of pop, the sky is the limit! These Milwaukee combo features Ben Smith (vocals, bass), Garrett Holm (guitars) and Judicael Baton (Drums). There is an old saying that goes like this: good things come in threes. 3 musicians, 3 songs, and as it happens, 3 released projects for this band. Their most recent release, “Shades of Loud” is one of the group’s most personal efforts to date. The first song, “Analog Discovery,” features jazzy math influences, reminiscent of acts such as This Town Needs Guns or American Football. However, the song “Portrait” focuses on a catchier, pop-oriented melody, reminiscent of artists such as The Kooks or even Maroon 5. The last song, “Sidewalkin” is a characterful track which sort of feels like a compromise in between the previous two. There is some masterful guitar work here, and the overall vibe of the song really reminds me of some old Al Green records in a way!

Sidewalkin toinen uutuus tänään oli double NEIPA hanasta, ja pitihän sekin mennä testaamaan. Olut on väriltään utuisen harmaanoranssi ja se saa pinnalleen vain niukan, luonnonvalkoisen ja pienikuplaisen vaahdon. Tuoksua hallitsee ylikypsä hedelmäisyys (mm. persikka) yhdessä yrttisen ja greippisen humalan kanssa. Myös toffeista mallasta leijailee nenääni. Suutuntuma on varsin hapokas ja aika solidi, kuten näillä prosenteilla yleensäkin on. Maku on melkoinen havuinen ja greippinen “humalapommi” ylikypsän hedelmän kera. Toffeista maltaisuutta löytyy myös maun puolelta. Olut on samaan aikaan aika makea ja myös todella katkera. IBUja lienee huomattavasti.

Mielenkiintoinen kokemus juoda näin vahva NEIPA, aika hardcore oman tyylilajinsa edustaja.
