It's funny that I found this poll while searching this blog because I wrote a historical/medieval fantasy AU oneshot, with a teenaged Eri, about this exact thing. (I do have a rewrite under construction but I think this version is still worth checking out.)
A shame the poll is closed, though, cuz I'm torn between "It would save him" and "It would make him worse (affectionately)".
Eri from My Hero Academia
Reasoning: It wouldn't necessarily save him per se but I'd like to think it would give him some comfort
#reblog#bnha eri#bnha#my writing#link#i always imagine teenaged eri as extremely pissed off and rebellious. desperate for any shred of independence and respect#sick and tired of being treated like a shy little six-year-old damsel-in-distress#i think more bnha women should get to be angry in general (specifically fuyumi and lady nagant come to mind) but like. ESPECIALLY eri#boy went through two years of medical torture as a young child that's gonna FUCK HIM UP!!#could-transition-save-him#not to mention the dysphoria of potentially getting constantly misgendered by strangers/the media cuz you KNOW the hassaikai case was#a Huge Thing in canon so everyone knows eri as the little girl who got saved by the Great Hero Deku#and of course also the constant metaphorical low-grade radiation of being trans in such a heavily gendered and cisnormative environment#damn i have a lot of thoughts on this actually#but even if he *isn't* trans like. growing up being famous for being a victim + sexism does not make for a happy child#and it's even worse if eri ends up raised by the oyaji#eri's mom left for A REASON
