Biasless basic context for the lovejoy wilbur abuser thing if youre interested.

Wilbur and another streamer, Shubble, dated (or fwb?) for a bit and one thing wilbur was into was biting people, shubble told him not to and he kept doing it throughout the relationship even after promising to stop then doing it unsafely/rougher anyway. Theyve both put out their povs of the situation online. Wilburs pretty much vanished from social media and a bunch of his diehard fans have been insanely awful to shubble since. 🤷.

i think that the fact he just vanishes and let his fans be shitty to his ex without even asking people to not harass them says a lot about him. besides crossing boundaries and insisting on doing things that makes your partner uncomfortable is fucked up in any level

i know shit about this guy, i only listen to lovejoy when it pops up on yt music and when their most recent album came out a lot of people said that he stole lyrics and his fans attitude was also disgusting and apparently he even made fun of it so i guess this shows enough of him and his fans.

I want to make it clear that I stand with shubble. if you support Wilbur/LoveJoy in ANY capacity you are not welcome here. Domestic Violence is nothing to joke about. it is nothing to brush over, and people who support Wilbur after this are supporting DV.

Please make sure to show some love to Shubble on her yt and twitch and any other place you can find her!! yes Wilbur needs to be deplatfored but we need to focus on giving her (shubble) support through this. Her strength and courage throughout all of this is amazing and putting her abuse out there on the internet was probably terrifying. make sure if you are making a video on this that you make sure to center it around Shubble. She is the one who needs support. She is the person who went through this. She is the one who spoke up. stop making this about Wilbur. I promise the internet will do what it does best and get him removed. for now Shubble needs the spotlight. please, please give her the time she needs to recover.

also, give people who were close to Wilbur a minute to breathe. they found out at the same time as the rest of us what was going on. they thought they could trust this person and that got rug pulled. they don't need to make a big response, just enough to state they don't support him. they have their own life, they are real people, give them a minute to process wtf just happend. they don't have all the answers and they don't know how to deal with this like the rest of us.

sharing my thoughts on things (+ changes to my blogs):

alright, this isn’t gonna make much of a difference here tbh as i don’t talk about him much on here (i do so more on my agere blog: @tinysharkzz ), but i wanted to make a proper post to make things clear !!

(trigger warning for mentions of abuse - yes, this is regarding wilbur soot)

as you may know, shelby/shubble recently came forward about her ex-boyfriend abusing her. and there has been strong speculation of said ex being wilbur which i believed to be true, but the whole situation for me was so overwhelming that i decided to just stop posting + talking about wilbur/lovejoy anywhere until there was any kind of confirmation, and now that wilbur’s tweeted an ‘apology’ (it’s an absolute failed attempt at an apology imo) it kind of snapped me into gear and i realised i need to change things on here asap.

before i get into the stuff about wilbur, i wanna start by saying that i fully support the victims. shelby, lexie, and everyone else who’s been affected.

i’ll be removing any posts or moodboards i made about wilbur/lvjy from my agere blog, and i’ll be listing them in my ‘not taking requests’ criteria. i’ll also remove them from my interests/intro posts as i try to steer clear of their music & content.

this is a really upsetting thing which i really wish never happened. it makes me feel so disgusted that i used to support this man, even though the only wilbur i knew of was his online personality, it brought me so much comfort through lockdown and other rough times in the past few years. i’ve grown up as a person while being a fan, so to feel like i’ve grown up with something only to find out the disgusting things he’s done makes me feel so betrayed.

i’m not gonna be able to instantly go ‘yep, i’ve lost all positive feelings about the content & music that has helped me mentally, it can all be banished from my life’ cuz i don’t think that’s gonna do me personally any good - if this sounds cringe idc but i quite literally have emotional attachments to a handful of his songs & some old yt vids that bring me so much comfort when i’m at a low point, and i’m not gonna willingly hold myself back from feeling comforted when i know something i can do to healthily cope is right there.

that being said, i won’t be talking about this stuff online anywhere, as i know it’s not something to be proud of & he certainly doesn’t deserve that kind of positive attention considering what he’s done.

i am thoroughly disappointed in wilbur, and although 1 random person on the internet saying that doesn’t change much, i hope other people join me in not supporting him. he has done horrible things and i hope he gets karma for it all.

i usually don't brush up on serious stuff but i felt like i needed to share this here.

Im looking online (especially on yt) and the amount of people making a spectacle about shubble opening up about her abuse is really pissing me off. like- i put "qsmp fitmc" in my search bar and i guarantee theres atleast two videos titled something like "WILBUR SOOT ALLEGATIONS" or "SO AND SO'SRESPONSE TO SOOT ALLEGATIONS", and while I do believe it's important to de-platform awful people like him, right now ppl are using it as ways to get extra views and extra likes. Theyre making it more about HIM than about shelby and that makes me so fucking mad.

She's the one that was brave enough to open up about what she went through, so how about instead of giving an asshole more attention we give our attention and support to the woman that actually deserves it.

I have zero interest in ever running for the US Senate but if I did I think that as a neurodivergent person I could make the best filibusters. I'd just talk about GeminiTay and then every single fucking Minecraft world she's ever been on (that has been posted on YT). Etc etc. I spent 7 years in speech therapy, I can talk about anything and everything for probably days straight if I were to try it. shelby shubble opened up abt an abusive ex, wilbur admitted to being said shitty ex but in a very dodging-any-actual-apology way, tubbo and a bunch of others immediately rushed to denounce him

i have complicated feelings on the whole thing (obviously i believe and support shubble though, itd be kinda hard not to at this point) but essentially if youre a wilbur fan youre kinda fucked especially if you mostly consume his content with his friendships that are currently crumbling

thus i feel really bad for my roommate who is immune to social media and likes Literally All Of The CCs. i have started trying to avoid talking about yt drama so i wont make her feel sad; just bc i have hate in my heart for q these days doesnt mean she has to. however with how openly the ccs are talking abt it this one doesnt seem avoidable for long
