i’ve been thinking, if im gonna be happy with a forever island i need places im able to change up seasonally! but it also has to be easy and not too overwhelming otherwise i just wont do it! here are some examples of my attempts on nordsea!

Shrub's story is just so inherently tragic I'm obsessed with it, firstly she's a literal *teenager* she is 116, which Shelby said is like a teenager for gnomes, this literal fucking **child** watched the genocide of her entire species, falls into an entirely new dimension, and is immediately put into a position of power because when has putting mentally unstable teenagers in charge ever gone wrong? Then the demon who killed their species shows back up and they find out they helped it get to this new world, her best friend is in love with him and **kidnaps** them. They get kidnapped again and once all that is over she accidentally corrupts another emperor, starts going insane because of the crystal, gets told she's crazy by literally everyone, exiles herself, and then comes back to this world being destroyed.

Also the fact that she calls Lady Sun (her dire wolf) Mother Wolf, like she is a literal child who had to see her parents die.

All of that said yeah I'm normal about her

can we talk about the ending to shubble’s afterlife series?? please??

like yes, mechanically, she lost her tenth life. she jumped and died from fall damage. but that’s not how she ended the story.

shulk shubble (shulkble?) had just witnessed the death of the only other person properly remaining, the inverse of herself, shadow joey/shadow boy/shadow 2.0. the last thing she wanted to do was watch the sunset and have a picnic, the one thing she endlessly craved on her first life back when she was the shadow.

“everybody’s kind of.. long gone and dead. onto the next… life. after-afterlife?”

“…i don’t really know what comes next.”

and then she simply vanishes. she simply says this is goodbye, and then the camera is obscured by a stray leaf and she’s gone. it’s quiet, there’s just the sound of the wind as it goes dark.

I hope I'm not being rude by asking this, but why is Dame's name Damiana regardless of gender? Maybe it's my Spanish speaking brain the one who is confused about it. See, Damiana reads as femenine, always, and looking it up in Google I have not seen any interpretation of the name being gender neutral (although I may be wrong). Is this intentional? I assume so, since you could included that a male Dame would be Damian (or Damien, I'm not sure when it comes to English) if you intended for the name to change.

And I understand if you prefer to go with just Damiana. It is way easier to code, and you probably are going to use Dame more anyways. Which, funnily enough, is also a femenine coded word. But I could see it being a nickname that could be understood outside of the obvious gender implications it has.

Now, I hope this doesn't make you change Dame into just female. If anything I was so glad to see a male Aphrodite option! I love the idea of playing a gay version of Ares and Aphrodite's love. It's just I was curious as to why the name was by default always femenine? Since I always see, with gender selectable RO's, that the name is either gender neutral, or it does change based on the gender of the RO.

I'm not suggesting you change anything, by the way. Especially if you have a narrative or thematic reason as to why you took that decision. I just wanted to ask about it since it struck me as unusual.

In any case, I'm excited for when the demo eventually comes! I really had been liking Ares a lot lately, so it was a delightful surprise to stumble upon your IF project.

I chose the name because a damiana is a flower, and an aphrodisiac. If I made male Dame change his name to "Damian" I think it would lose that context and make people feel that the female Dame is the more canon type. Which I feel like people are already going to have issues with, seeing as how Aphrodite is a female god. I want both male and female to be seen as canon.

I think regardless of the god, the gods have been any and every possible gender I don't think they'd really care about gendered names.

Also, just as a personal thing for me, I really do not like gender selectable characters changing their names in IFs. I know its stupid and purely just something I have my own issue with, but I just don't really like it. This way I like better, and I think the character, regardless of gender, is a character that would like the name "Damiana".
