i’ve been thinking, if im gonna be happy with a forever island i need places im able to change up seasonally! but it also has to be easy and not too overwhelming otherwise i just wont do it! here are some examples of my attempts on nordsea!

shrubs and flowers in small areas! a garden by ables and a pathway with pergolas🌸🌱

a tiny carnival build! Should be easy to switch up for events or just to change the colors of the large items☀️

Lilith: [rolls eyes] I’m not sure what’s worse, your insufferable pseudo-intellectualism rubbing off on her or her infuriating impertinence rubbing off on you. Either way, I don’t think I like it.

Caleb: And I don’t think I particularly care.

Lilith: Do remember I kindly chose to leave you with your windpipe intact. I can’t guarantee I’ll be feeling so generous next time.

Sonic Garden

(This has been brewing for ages in my brain and I'm actually really excited to try and get this event going. Thank you @nodulemodule for actually coming up with the name!)

This June, in celebration of our favorite Blue Blur who himself loves to slow down and smell the wildflowers every now and again, I would like to propose the Sonic Garden. The goal of Sonic Garden is to, through a united affection for the Sonic story and characters, share information about plants! Any type of plants! All types of plants! And all types of information too! If you wish to infodump about the edible, medicinal, magical, and/or symbolic background of a plant, feel free!

And you can participate in any way you wish! If you want to use a photo and some figures/props/digitally edited in aspects, sure! If you want to draw the entire thing, go for it! If you would rather just write a short piece, feel free!

For example:

Sonic and dandelions! Did you know that Dandelions can be found all over the globe? The only place they don't seem to like is Antarctica.

I guess if Sonic wants to enjoy a dandelion salad as he watches glaciers float by full of peckys and rockys, he's just going to have to bring his own.

(If you are going to use a picture of the plant, make sure there are no people in frame and nothing that would endanger or expose anyone involved! Your privacy is valuable!)

Shrub's story is just so inherently tragic I'm obsessed with it, firstly she's a literal *teenager* she is 116, which Shelby said is like a teenager for gnomes, this literal fucking **child** watched the genocide of her entire species, falls into an entirely new dimension, and is immediately put into a position of power because when has putting mentally unstable teenagers in charge ever gone wrong? Then the demon who killed their species shows back up and they find out they helped it get to this new world, her best friend is in love with him and **kidnaps** them. They get kidnapped again and once all that is over she accidentally corrupts another emperor, starts going insane because of the crystal, gets told she's crazy by literally everyone, exiles herself, and then comes back to this world being destroyed.

Also the fact that she calls Lady Sun (her dire wolf) Mother Wolf, like she is a literal child who had to see her parents die.

All of that said yeah I'm normal about her

I hope I'm not being rude by asking this, but why is Dame's name Damiana regardless of gender? Maybe it's my Spanish speaking brain the one who is confused about it. See, Damiana reads as femenine, always, and looking it up in Google I have not seen any interpretation of the name being gender neutral (although I may be wrong). Is this intentional? I assume so, since you could included that a male Dame would be Damian (or Damien, I'm not sure when it comes to English) if you intended for the name to change.

And I understand if you prefer to go with just Damiana. It is way easier to code, and you probably are going to use Dame more anyways. Which, funnily enough, is also a femenine coded word. But I could see it being a nickname that could be understood outside of the obvious gender implications it has.

Now, I hope this doesn't make you change Dame into just female. If anything I was so glad to see a male Aphrodite option! I love the idea of playing a gay version of Ares and Aphrodite's love. It's just I was curious as to why the name was by default always femenine? Since I always see, with gender selectable RO's, that the name is either gender neutral, or it does change based on the gender of the RO.

I'm not suggesting you change anything, by the way. Especially if you have a narrative or thematic reason as to why you took that decision. I just wanted to ask about it since it struck me as unusual.

In any case, I'm excited for when the demo eventually comes! I really had been liking Ares a lot lately, so it was a delightful surprise to stumble upon your IF project.

I chose the name because a damiana is a flower, and an aphrodisiac. If I made male Dame change his name to "Damian" I think it would lose that context and make people feel that the female Dame is the more canon type. Which I feel like people are already going to have issues with, seeing as how Aphrodite is a female god. I want both male and female to be seen as canon.

I think regardless of the god, the gods have been any and every possible gender I don't think they'd really care about gendered names.

Also, just as a personal thing for me, I really do not like gender selectable characters changing their names in IFs. I know its stupid and purely just something I have my own issue with, but I just don't really like it. This way I like better, and I think the character, regardless of gender, is a character that would like the name "Damiana".

okay — so, i have talked about how blamore has plants inside of his ribs before, but not WHAT plants are inside of there... so i'm nlw going to introduce you to a few of the different ones that are now a part of him in that area. the first flowers on the far left are known as stargazer lilies.

these are perennial's and only bloom once a year + the middle picture contains wild basil, which is rather cold tolerant and thus, also a perennial. the picture on the far right is actually a type of shrub called a purple smoke bush and is deciduous, so it has leaves that fall off yearly.

these are currently the only plants i have set in stone for his rib area, but i will introduce more later once i figure out what else i want to integrate into its character that way.

but just to give y'all a little extra tidbit of information that only people such as it's lovers and perhaps doctor's would normally know...

it has these plants called coleus leaves, specifically of the 'heartbreaker' variety, lined across it's hips:

WIP Wednesday

From There and Back Again, the third arc of the Marriage of State AU, which I have not talked about at all. Enjoy!

It took Shrub a moment to realize that they'd lost a member of the party. They turned in their seat, the Mother Wolf halting while they looked back the way they came. Katherine and Sausage were both still there, treading carefully over the red ground. Katherine absentmindedly petting the wolf beside her while Sausage gestured wildly as they spoke to each other. And nearly out of sight, back where the crimson turf and mushroom-trees turned to basalt and blackstone, the Elf King stood still as a statue, staring into the depths of the lava sea. Katherine and Sausage noticed her staring, and looked back in turn. After a moment of no one, not even the wolves moving, Sausage hopped back down the hill and approached the elf. "Xornoth? Are you alright?" It's been almost a year and it is still weird to hear genuine concern in the King of Mythland's voice, instead of the mocking cruelty that was all Shrub had ever heard from him in her time here. Katherine has assured them that this is the real Sausage, but they can't help but be wary anyway. Xornoth tilted their head to the side, branching black antlers brushing against crimson vines. It is a familiar silhouette that sends a shudder down Shrub's spine. "I'm going to try something." With no more warning than that, they shuck the outer layer of their travel robes the way Shrub's little cousins would shed their clothes to go swimming in the summer, tossing the fine-woven wool so that it lands on a sputtering Sausage's head. And the king of Rivendell dives headfirst into the lava.

between being close with gem and having to help jimmy with his transition and gender stuff, am!fwhip has become the guy friend you can go to about Girl Stuff

Need something and one of the other girls isn't available? Fwhip probably has stuff like menstrual products and old bras/binders from gem or jimmy he just never threw away after gem moved to the cliffs full time and jimmy finished transitioning. Like it's all just there in a bathroom somewhere. He also has so many pain pills from his own issues that their just overflowing the medicine cabinet.
