This vintage Garfield fish tank was such a rad find! Gonna cycle it for a few months and maybe add some teeny tiny shrimp.

Looking for some advice from y'all aquarium havers, im planning to get my first tank set up at the beginning of next year and i want some advice!
my plan is to get a crayfish (i want a species that grows to about 4-5 inches, so probably either Procambarus clarkii, Procambarus alleni, or Procambarus fallax virginalis) and then possibly 10 or so neon tetras. i know that crayfish often eat the other animals in their tanks, but Ive heard some people say that fast swimming fish in the middle of the water column are usually fine? if you have any other species recommendations, or think i should nix the whole idea id love to hear your thoughts, this'll be my first tank that im managing myself!
as for the tank itself, i assume that a 20 gallon tank (with a lid, ive heard that crayfish are great escape artists!) would be fine. I dont have a ton of space in my room, so i dont know how much bigger i can go than that, so i may reduce the number/type of fish if needed. I have access to an old 10 gallon tank but im like 100% sure that that's too small for this, i may turn it into a shrimp tank or an isopod terrarium in the future.
when it comes to decor, ive heard that crayfish like to move thier stuff around a lot, and also enjoy a lot of places to hide, any thoughts on what i could do for that? I dont really know where to start when it comes to aquarium decoration, and i wanna give these little guys the best i can.

I got a fish!
His name is Stevie Sushimi and he’s a huge misogynist! (Hides when I go near the tank, is absolutely fine if my boyfriend goes near it, obviously hates women)
