1, 4, 8, 22, 26, 29, 30, 32, 35, 40, 52, 58 (It’s Golden Hour Somewhere :) and 61 (Wilbur Soot and Lovejoy!)
I know that’s a hekkin ton, so you don’t have to answer all of them XD
1. Are you an albums person or a singles person?
Albums !!! I think . askdfjksd
4. Is there a song you love but don't like its music video?
oh i am sure there are lots... especially songs from when i was a kid bc radio music always has hypersexualised music videos and those always made me feel so so uncomfy... can't think of an example rn though :0
8. Is there an artist or song that you like, despite being of a genre you don't usually like?
OOOHH HTHIS IS AN INTERESTING QUESTION HMM
Scared of the Dark by lil wayna, ty dollar sign, and xxx. i do Not like mumble rap and i really didn't like the verses but the CHORUS WAS SOOO GOUGHOGHOUGHOG EXPLODES that i listened to it on repeat and now i love the song (even tho i find the guys voice in the verse funny)
29. Songs you love to dance to:
funny you should ask that bc i have a playlist~ ... I JUST DELETED IT BY ACCIDENT FUCKKKKKK AWOFEIJAWEFLK
anyways. i will fix that later welp KFJSAKDJF
come on eileen by dexys midnight runners is A CLASSIC AND MUST BE ADDED IT'S THE BEST DANCING SONG EVER IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY AND EVER SINCE I READ BEES FIC HONEY AND TANGERINES IT MADE IT EVEN BETTER I CANNOT DO THIS RAHSSSSSS
disco by surf curse is another song that is just INSTANT DANCE VIBES how can u NOT dance to it
kiss goodnight by IDKHOW is another really lovely song that always makes me want to dance :)))
30. Songs you love to sing along to:
now this one i ALSO have a playlist and i will NOT delete it this time ohmgyod im actually so sad i loved my dancing playlist HELPS FDKJKJD
songs that are Simply Bangers hehehe this one's for when i just wanna shout lyrics at the top of my lungs
but for specific onesssss
Locked Outta Heaven by Bruno Mars // IT'S SO GOOD IT MAKES ME FEEL UNHINGED IL OVE IT SO MCHUH ABRKARKJWBAEKAWJKB unfortunately the lyrics make me feel Uncomfortable singing bc . major ace here woOOO but it's fine i just live in denial and try to remind myself that most ppl are actually yknow normal about sex unlike me LMAOFASJKFKJ
You Make My Dreams by Hall & Oats // literally any 80s song makes me so inexplicably happy and i Need to sing the lyrics aloud at the top of my lungs man
40. Which was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
i love ALL of the concerts ive been to but... half alive . half alive was SO FRICKEN COOL DAWGWGAOJIAWEAAEWR THE LIGHTS THE DANCING I CANT I CANNOT GET OVER IT IT WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST MOMENTS OF MY LIFE /SRS IT WAS INCREDIBLE OHMYOGDDD
52. Do you make playlists to be listened to in a specific order or in shuffle? Or both?
so i used to. hate shuffling. bc i am very very picky about the order of songs i listen to (like when i shuffle i will just . look at the queue and edit it intensely). so i used to make them for a specific order and actually one of my favourite things to do is figure out songs that transition super super nicely into each other oguhoguhgo so making a playlist that is perfect from start to finish is my dream... however rn i have such a big?? music taste??? that the playlists are so long and curating it to be the Perfect Experience would take too much time so now i just add shit and shuffle ofssdlkfd
58. Send me a song and I'll tell you the colors it made me think of, without looking at cover arts or music videos.
well that's just kinda unfair the word gold is literally in the title HELPPP but i picture the field that's in the music video (wait help "without looking at the music video" too late for that buddy it's engrained in my memory with how many times ive watched it), like that greenish colour that's what i think of yellowish green
but okay okay im turning it on now and the colours i get while listening to it is faded pastel yellow from the guitar intro, it turns more brownish orange in the verses, DEF a deep yellow/brown when the bass comes in
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the chorus is green to me, the ooOooOOo is green and yellow to me
gosh i love golden hour
61. Make me choose between two artists/songs/albums.
ooohhh this one is hard bc like lovejoy has so much more stuff but wilbur soot changed my life
im choosing wilbur bc of since i saw vienna but do know that this hurt me asdjkfasdjkhf

one. BUT YOU ARE NOT MADE OF HOLY BEINGS, HANDS BLOODIED AND BRUISED FROM THE GOOD & EVIL ROOTED IN THE VEINS OF THE CITY YOU CALL HOME. so you'll stand in the cathedral, close your eyes and fill your lungs with catastrophe, listen to what the beating of a heart tells you. how frayed the strings and sinews are, nearly on the verge of break, and how desperately you salvage it all for the sake of others and not yourself.
IN THE CATHEDRAL, YOUR HEART TELLS YOU THERE IS NO SAFE PASSAGE HERE.
something hurts : a burning that takes hold of your being, ignites and wraps itself around your ribs. you open your eyes, focus on the figure in white. bruno bucciarati stands by your side, gaze distant, traced with melancholy as blue eyes observe the angels depicted on the walls of divinity.
"the angels are beautiful here." his voice breaks an empty and harsh silence, and even the warmth of his hand on yours is not enough to ease the pressure that weighs heavy on your chest. "i hope to see them again."
it is hard to breathe. something hurts.
( IN THE CATHEDRAL, YOUR HEART TELLS YOU THIS WILL BE THE BEGINNING OF THE END. )
two. MY LOVE, DID YOU FORGET THAT FATE IS A FICKLE BEING? she knows nothing but cruelty and depravity, merciless in the most unjust ways. BE WARY OF HER ; she will be the one to bring you to ruin and take him away, over and over and over again until he is an empty vessel of someone who once loved so dearly.
something hurts. it digs into your skin, festers in your blood. your heart races in the late hours and you do not know why.
"it doesn't do good to overthink." bruno tells you, voice gentle and filled with sleep. he glances at the clock, watches the moonlight trace your features, nearly smiles at such a beautiful sight. "come, lay closer to me."
so you scoot towards him, feel his arms around your figure. how strange that your nerves remain on edge, even in the hold of someone you love. you swallow hard, let out a shaky breath. you wish to ask him about fate-- who she is, how she binds your bloodied hands but leaves that red thread between your souls. but there is something in this moment that sends a shiver down your spine, tells you that it is better to live in oblivion, because somehow, it will hurt all the more in the end. so you remain silent, taste something bitter and obscure on the tip of your tongue.
"you're cold, love."
"as are you." he murmurs, hold tightening as he pulls the blanket over your bodies. "sleep, it'll be warm soon."
( something hurts. iron lingers on your tongue. you fall asleep to the feeling of his lips against your temple. )
three. YOU DREAMT OF THOSE ANGELS, DIDN'T YOU? you dreamt of those angels, wake up to tears trailing down your face. it is a sunny morning, gentle in her light. you rest your head against bruno's chest, anchor yourself to the present with the sound of his heartbeat.
alive, alive, alive alive alive alive. living.
something hurts.
( SOMETHING IS DREADFULLY WRONG. )
four. & THOSE WHO BETRAY ARE THE MOST WRETCHED OF ALL , so you run and you run, life thrown into chaos and the wonder of when your survival ends. to betray the boss is a death sentence, but it is a path you will walk without hesitation. your loyalty has always been true, has always guided you well.
it will be okay in the end. it has to be.
fatigue wears you thin, exhaustion on your visage. you try to hide it, knowing that you are not alone in this battle, but he has always managed to see through you. crimson runs down your cheek, your chest heavy and tight. bruno approaches you, wipes it away wordlessly, but in his touch there is an i'm sorry, i should have done better to protect you, and somewhere, you think he will carry that regret with him until he no longer can.
"you're cold, bruno."
he stills, offers a worn smile as his hand falls to his side lifelessly. he should not have dragged you into this. how sorrowful this will be at the end of all. this cruelty will be unfitting for someone as kind as you.
"whatever you're thinking," you begin, watching the grief that surfaces on his countenance, "don't apologize." you wince, feel the sting of the wounds that adorn your body. "i don't regret joining your side, not one bit. so don't start thinking otherwise. besides," you force a smile through it all, "we've gotta go back and see those angels after this is all over, right?"
something hurts. it is not supposed to. bruno tries to take a deep breath, but it feels unnatural, feels wrong. this is all so very wrong. but he ignores the pain, offers a quiet chuckle.
"you're right. forgive me for doubting myself."

So, Disney put out that "We Dont Talk About Bruno, 21 Languages" version, and it made me really want to hear all of them. So i did, and catalogged it for tumblr. Tried to keep it down to two points each, so this wouldnt be any longer then its already going to be.
Theres two missing because i couldnt find the full versions online, so if anyone else has them please send them to me so i can complete the list!
Russian:
One of the lines in camillos verse is changed to, in russian, "A midnight howl, your nightmare" which fuckin slaps honestly. Also the pastor in this one sounds extra pathetic and i kinda love it.
Really just love the pronunciations of a lot of the russian language. This ones just fun for the ears honestly.
German:
Instead of saying THUNDER he just shouts EIN STORM and thats fucking hilarious.
Holy shit the camillo part in this one is. Like look ok i know the best part of the song is going to slap in any language but holy shit i did not expect to feel some type of way from the line "ein ratten" ok? Fuckin. Whoever they got to sing that part is fuckin wild and can have my babies holy fuck
Dutch:
DUN-DER
Does a really good job of capturing the inflection of the english VA's. Delores and camillo especially.
While it doesn't have any super defining features like some others, its a really smooth one to one recreation, the line changes don't interrupt the flow at all like it does in others, and honestly you could probly swap it with the english one and id never notice.
Polish:
Camilo really Spits out his verses in this one, really driving home that dark and terrifying vibe. Theres a serious force to some of his words that make them feel like theyre being hurled at you.
They actually pronounce Bruno's name differently, as a brun-yey or brun-ya, depending on the line, which i find really interesting.
Italian:
Not too crazy about this one overall
But
The FUNNIEST version of "isabella your boyfriends here" i've heard so far. You just have to hear it for yourself, i cant do it justice.
Thai:
A bit like the italian one, doesn't mesh quite as well as some others, that said
Thai-Delores verse fuckin sweeps this whole song. Its a little bit grittier and i fucking love it, really drives home the "dark secret" vibe.
Danish:
Danish-Felix puts a little flair at the end of his lines that i love. Its his own little personal oomph, that just feels like he was having fun with it.
Solid overall, though not too much that stands out.
French:
God DAMN does the french version go hard. These VAs just fuckin went OFF.
While there wasn't a lot of variance in inflection like some of the others, they really just fuckin sang their hearts out at the top of their lungs and its fuckin great.
Japanese:
Alright this was inevitable but camillo sounds like an anime villain especially during the "your boyfriends here" bit. Tell me that laugh aint straight outta your favorite shounen
I actually love the villagers verse! They have so much distinct character! Also as a sidebar, this is the best mirabel verse i've heard so far. The way she holds the "bruno" at the begining is just *chefs kiss*
Greek:
Sadly the only version i could find sounded like someone recorded it from their closet, so there might be some finer details i miss.
That said, still a solid rendition all around. Loved the voice for isabella in this one, just very pretty, idk how else to put it. Definitely on the higher end, but still mostly a one to one copy of the original. Which is not a bad thing, to clarify.
Korean:
Korean-Pepa&Felix are so much fun. Idk what it is but i love the vibes they put out.
Also, the dead fish girl just straight goes "the next day BLEG" and i fuckin wish they did that in the original because it so much funnier than saying it died.
Bulgarian
N/A for now?
Hungarian:
Sadly another low quality recording, but i don't think it suffered too much from it?
Its definitely the most unique rendition so far. Theres a weird tonal shift when camillos part comes in, and i think the beat is actually a bit slower from that point on. Whether thats good or bad ill leave up to you, im not 100% sure where i stand on it myself.
Norwegian:
Norwegian-Felix sounds like an absolute bear of a man and im kinda hear for it. Also point to Norwegian-Camillo for being the first one to actually sound like a fuckin teenager.
Also, this is more an overall but its at this point in my journey that im realizing…
Every nonenglish-version of Abuela's one line sounds almost identical, and they all sound like theyre sung by a dude. Idk what it is. Maybe my brain is suffering BrunoBrainRot.
Bahasa Malaysia:
Another A Tier dolores. As someone who preferred Camillo in the english version, in a lot of these its surprisngly Dolores who steals the show.
Also, just to make my last one look stupid, abuela is once again a woman. Actually, a lot of the VA's in this one sounded really close to the English VA's, Camillo especially.
Vietnamese
N/A for now
Euro Portugese:
Now THAT is a good Camillo. Not quite the level of some of my earlier faves, but still very good. Close to Russian Camillo.
I really enjoyed the inflection on Isebella's verse. Gave it a bit of extra oomph during a part i usually kind of glaze over. Her verse is pretty, but the slowest bit of the whole song, so i like when they do something that makes it Pop a bit more.
Brazilian Portugese:
Brazilian-Felix and the villagers both sound like theyre just having a blast. I really like the ones where it feels like they were just having fun recording.
Mirael and Camillo sound like they swapped ages, especially at the end. I cant stop picturing a 28 year old Camillo leaning on a tiny angry Mirabel's head.
Taiwanese Mandarin:
Taiwanese-Pepa is fucking beautiful. She should've gotten Isabellas verse, its so good. That said, its nice to hear an approach to Pepa that isn't so harsh.
Taiwanese-Camillo is haunting, a very ghostly quality to it. Its a different kind of spooky that i enjoy. Puts a fun spin on it.
Spanish:
Man i really saved the best for last. This is like the New Game+ of We Don't Talk About Bruno. Its the original, but better.
While there isn't anything that makes it necessarily unique, it takes every good quality from the english version and just cranks it up to 12. Def top tier material.
To close, this is a fantastic song in any language, that i'll be listening to for a very long time.
If anyone wants to hear these for themselves, i compiled a playlist for you, in order as they appear in this list: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLR5WNVkVKWQh0bSmkSLLFxxedR-28YNHr

¡Feliz Día del Padre!
To all our fictional papás out there may we shower you with endless amounts of love. We'll hold the angst for today just for you. And a very big extra squishy hug also to the adoptive daddos, blended and found families.
Short excerpt from La Luna cause Bruno's adoptive kiddos love him very very much. (Sass is Benji's love language ahaha)
*plz ignore any mistakes, honestly I should go back and edit all my old chapters but I'm lazy ha*
Luna's POV
**************
Soft knocks came from our door as it slowly opened and two heads peeked in through the crack. It was an adorable view, making me giggle. Seeing us awake they flung the door open, shouting at the top of their lungs, "¡Buenos días, papá! ¡Feliz Día del Padre!". Beno balanced a tray with plates full of food.
"We tried to make your perico!", Teo grinned. "Beno isn't as good as you..", he looked back at Benji, earning him a gentle kick. I knew they were doing this for Bruno, since they had both asked me how to make the eggs for breakfast. Benji promised he wouldn't burn the house down. It was too precious. They brought the tray down onto the bed and sat themselves next to us. Bruno seemed lost for words, twice already this morning. He pushed the tray up and out of the way and motioned to Teo, "Come here for a minute niño..", he patted his chest, getting Mateo to lay curled up to him. As Bruno hugged him pressing his face into Mateo's golden hair, Benji stared with furrowed brows at us. "Don't ask me to...", he sarcastically grinned. "Oh sí.", Bruno patted his shoulder asking him for a hug. I giggled at them watching Benji shake his head, no, making me laugh more. "Sí... it's my day..", Bruno busted out the big one; emotional guilt. I wanted to laugh so badly, straining to keep myself together. "Fine..", Benji rolled his eyes, wrapping his arms around the three of us. Sighing happily, I could stay right here forever with them.
"Eat your eggs before they get cold. And pretend you like them...", Benji's muffled words forced Bruno to chuckle into the mass of squished bodies.
I watched as the three of them sat happily sharing their food with each other on the bed. It was hard to imagine any other life now. The one we had escaped from feeling like a distant memory. At least the boys get to experience this.. A family, a routine, love.

because i’m an arospec/acespec that’s feeling super alienated and angry this valentines day
i have temporarily come back from the grave to bring y’all aspecs (especially aros) this lovely headcanon, shouted at the top of my lungs bc i’m so incredibly sick of amatonormativity and heteronormativity
and i am going to be furiously aro and ace, i am going to SHINE IT AT FULL FREAKING BRIGHTNESS BC THIS IS SERIOUSLY BEING FORCED UPON ME AND I DON’T LIKE IT AND I DON’T LIKE MY AROMANTIC EXPERIENCES TO BE TREATED LIKE THEY’RE DISGUSTING, UNNATURAL OR DON’T EXIST, BECAUSE THEY’RE A PART OF ME AND IT IS NATURAL TO ME! i’m very tired of being treated like i’m disgusting for my experiences, ones of which i have absolutely no control over!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GIORNO GIOVANNA IS AROSPEC, VERY AROMANTICALLY INCLINED AND DOESN’T EXPERIENCE LOVE IN CONVENTIONAL AMATONORMATIVE WAYS, AND ALSO EXPERIENCES IT VERY VERY RARELY
FUGO PANNACOTTA IS ACESPEC AND ALWAYS EXPERIENCES ROMANTIC ATTRACTION FIRST AND BARELY EXPERIENCES SEXUAL ATTRACTION EVER AND IS UNSURE ABOUT WHETHER HE EXPERIENCES IT AT ALL
FUGO PANNACOTTA IS ALSO AROFLUX AND SOMETIMES DOES NOT EXPERIENCE ANY ROMANTIC ATTRACTION AT ALL
BRUNO BUCCELLATI IS COMPLETELY AROMANTIC AND EXPERIENCES NO ROMANTIC ATTRACTION WHATSOEVER! HE EXPERIENCES VERY HIGH LEVELS OF COMPASSION, BUT HE DOES NOT EXPERIENCE *ANY* ROMANTIC ATTRACTION AT ALL!!
LEONE ABBACCHIO IS DEMISEXUAL!!! HE IS ALSO VERY REPULSED BY CONVENTIONAL AMATONORMATIVITY
GUIDO MISTA AND NARANCIA GHIRGA DO NOT EXPERIENCE LOVE IN A CONVENTIONAL AMATONORMATIVE PATTERN AT ALL, AND THEY ENJOY IT VERY VERY MUCH BECAUSE IT MAKES THEM HAPPY AND THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE COMFORTABLE WITH
MISTA IS ALSO ROMANCE REPULSED BUT NOT AS MUCH AS NARANCIA

Save The Last Dance
Or
Three Times They Unexpectedly Met At A Wedding + One Time They Didn’t
Klaine, AU, Alternate Meeting ~3,600 words
1
“Are you sure a wedding is where you want to be right now?” Blaine asks. “Like, is it the best place to get over your girlfriend?”
“Ex-girlfriend.” Sam corrects him. “And dude, totally. Weddings are filled with girls hyped up on the romance factor, so even someone who’d never look my way is willing to give me a shot... or at least a dance.”
Blaine just rolls his eyes.
“Now, shut up and come do the Cha-Cha Slide with me,” Sam says, dragging his best friend onto the dance floor before he even has a chance to protest.
Not many people know this about the Cha-Cha slide, but there’s a section where everybody thinks he’s going to say “to the left,” but the words actually say otherwise.
Blaine knows this.
Now it's time to get funky To the right now, to the left
Unfortunately, the young man next to him does not.
They both very confidently slide into each other. “Oh, shit, I’m so sorry!” A voice sputters out an apology and suddenly Blaine’s looking into some of the clearest blue eyes he’s ever seen.
The guy is pale and tall, with long legs that seem to go on forever and hair that’s styled down to a perfected art.
“It’s no problem,” he says, sliding to the left at the instruction of the song. “The Cha-Cha slide is admittedly one of the hardest line dances out there,” he teases, very much wanting this conversation to continue.
“I’m a hopeless dancer,” the stranger admits, stomping his right foot in time with the music. “Which is why I pretty much stick to line dances—I need very clear instructions just to get by and even then... we’ll, you’ve seen the consequences.”
The song ends and everybody lets out ecstatic cheers.
He chuckles and extends a hand. “I’m Blaine.”
The stranger takes it just as the song changes to a familiar tune. “Kurt.”
Oh, her eyes, her eyes Make the stars look like they're not shining Her hair, her hair Falls perfectly without her trying She's so beautiful And I tell her everyday
Screw it, Blaine decides. “I know you said you stick exclusively to line dances, but... could I bother you for a dance to some Bruno Mars?” He asks.
”Uh...” Kurt hesitates and gives a troubled glance over at a nearly empty table. Blaine follows his gaze to see man with big black glasses and sandy blond hair siting there alone, head in one hand while he flippantly scrolls through his phone with the other. “My boyfriend is waiting for me at our table.”
“Oh...” Blaine deflates.
But for some reason he can’t put his finger on, Kurt can’t bear to see him so disappointed, and he figures there’s no harm in just dancing... so he finds himself saying “But he’s not really one for dancing, and I’m not quite finished out here. I’m sure he won’t mind me finding a dance partner for the night.”
The way Blaine’s face lights up is enough to reassure him that he made the right call.
“But you’ll have to give me all the help you can!” He banters. “I told you, I’m hopeless.”
The song continues as they hold each other, swaying briskly to the music.
Yeah, I know, I know When I compliment her she won't believe me And it's so, it's so Sad to think that she doesn't see what I see But every time she asks me, do I look okay I say
“So, how do you know Finn and Rachel?” Kurt finally asks, admittedly more intrigued by this stranger than he should be.
Blaine furrows his eyebrows. “Who?”
He cocks his head to the right. “The bride and groom...”
“Oh!” Blaine huffs out a slightly embarrassed laugh. “Truth be told, I crashed. My best friend just broke up with his girlfriend and knows the caterer. He dragged me along here to get over her.” He jerks his head in Sam’s direction. “Which I think he’s doing a pretty good job of.”
Across the dance floor, Kurt sees Mercedes dancing with a tall blonde haired man with an unusually large mouth. “Ah, so he’s the mysterious stranger that’s been dancing up on Mercedes all night.”
When I see your face There’s not a thing that I would change Cause you’re amazing Just the way you are
“You?” Blaine reciprocates the question.
“The groom’s my brother... well, step brother. He actually danced with me to this song at our parents wedding as a way to prove his loyalty to me.”
“That’s... really sweet.”
“It was.”
Blaine motions for Kurt to turn, and he follows his lead surprisingly well, based on the taller man’s account of his own dancing.
“You said you were a hopeless dancer, but you seem to be doing just fine.” He compliments.
“I’m only as good as my partner.”
“And they say guys can’t be cute and humble...” The line slips out before Blaine can stop himself. He knows he shouldn’t be flirting with someone who’s taken, (especially the groom’s brother) especially if he doesn’t want to get kicked out of the wedding he wasn’t even invited to... and now that he’s met Kurt, he really doesn’t want to.
He expects a harsh rejection from the other man, but it never comes. Just a playful narrowing of the eyes and an equally playful laugh.
They dance for several more songs and before either of them know it, it’s been nearly an hour.
It doesn’t feel it, though. They’re having too much fun discovering all they have in common. Kurt finds out that Blaine went to NYU as a musical theatre performance major, deeply admires Billy Joel’s songwriting talents, and has an annoying older brother who does credit rating commercials. Blaine learns that Kurt struggled with bullies all through high school, loves his dad more than anything in the world, and lost his mom way too young.
Kurt eventually feels a hand on his shoulder yank him away from his new friend.
“Mind if I cut in,” the man Blaine recognizes as Kurt’s boyfriend says, his voice not nearly polite enough to be paired with the words coming out of his mouth.
“Chandler,” Kurt cuts in before Blaine can respond. “You hate dancing... if you don’t want to be alone at the table just say so.”
Blaine hates that. He hates that Kurt obviously wants to dance and this guy can’t be bothered to put his phone down for thirty minutes to make his boyfriend happy. Especially considering it’s his brother’s wedding. He should definitely be involved, make an effort to get along with Kurt’s family.
He can feel this Chandler guy basically burning holes through him with his stare, and has to fight back instincts that tell him to return it because of how utterly inappropriate it would be.
“Yeah,” Chandler huffs. “I’d like that... thanks.”
Kurt purses his lips and nods, shooting Blaine a tight smile that really isn’t a smile.
“I’ll see you around,” Blaine says as they walk away, knowing very well that he doesn’t have this guy’s number (asking for it definitely would have been crossing a line) and might never see him again.
His heart skips a beat when he smiles back at him. “I hope so.”
And with that, they bid their goodbyes, Kurt heading to the table to keep some guy who clearly didn’t deserve him entertained.
He watches Kurt and his boyfriend from the dance floor with a twinge of envy. It’s ridiculous, he knows, to be jealous over some guy he barely knows and spent a grand total of, what, an hour with?
And yet, he spends the rest of the night wishing he’d come over and ask for one more dance.
XXX
2
Kurt dances with Rachel on the dance floor, neither of them really understanding the rules of the music currently playing. When the accordion solo starts, they’re supposed to be walking backwards, and when it heads back to the refrain, they start the shuffling motion forward again? He supposes that’s tradition for you.
He probably looks like he has two left feet, but he’s been taking shots with one of the brides all night, so he’s not too concerned.
Santana barges onto the dance floor, already tipsy from the traditional Mexican toast (Pa ariba! Pa abajo! Pal centro! Pa adentro!). She points to the DJ.
“Hey!” She shouts. “We can’t have a Mexican wedding without the queen of tejano!” She cries out. “Put some Selena on!”
Brittany’s side of the family is uncharacteristically quiet, but Santana’s family whoops and cheers.
There’s a record scratch and the music picks up with a woman’s voice singing Spanish gritos at the top of her lungs.
Cada vez Cada vez que lo veo pasar Mi corazón se enloquece Y me empieza a palpitar
Suddenly Kurt is in the middle of the dance floor with Rachel, standing still because they have no clue how to dance this music.
Rachel laughs nervously. “I’m going to go sit with Finn, this really isn’t my thing.” And with that, she leaves Kurt alone on the floor with the unfamiliar—but admittedly catchy—music playing.
Bidi bidi bom bom Y se emociona (y se emociona) Ya no razona No lo puedo controlar Bidi bidi bom bom
Within seconds, a couple bumps into him, as he’s been standing still with uncertainty.
It’s Brittany and—
“Oh, my god, Blaine!”
Kurt beams at the man he met last year at Finn and Rachel’s wedding. He’d been with Chandler then, so he hadn’t gotten his number. But now that he was single... well, he’d be lying if he said the dancing stranger hadn’t crossed his mind every now and again.
Y se emociona (y se emociona) Ya no razona Y me empieza a cantar (cantar) Me canta así, así, así, así
The shorter man beams right back at him, practically tackling him in a hug. “Kurt!”
The bride gives them a knowing glance and smile. “I’ll leave you two alone.”
They barely notice her leave, too invested in one another.
“You seem to know what you’re doing,” Kurt admits, pulling Blaine close to him and pressing their bodies together. He grabs Blaine’s waist, inhibitions gone with that fourth shot of tequila Santana practically forced down his throat. “Teach me how to dance tejano,” he says, and Blaine complies with a good hearted laugh, leading Kurt’s body with his.
“So, are you crashing again?”
“No,” Blaine responds. “I met Santana during college. She’s one of the best dancers I’ve ever met, aside from Britt, of course. You?”
“I went to high school with them. We were all in show choir together.”
“Ah,” Blaine teases. “That explains all your sick moves.”
“No,” Kurt snorts. “That’s definitely the tequila.”
“Santana always did have a soft spot for Patrón.”
Bidi bidi bom bom (bidi bidi bom bom) Bidi bidi bom bom (bidi bidi bom bom) Bidi bidi bidi bidi bidi bom bom Bidi bidi bidi bidi bidi bom bom
The song draws to a close and the DJ puts on a slower one.
Blaine lets go of Kurt. “Are you done?” He asks carefully. “Dancing, I mean?”
Kurt pulls him back in. “Not even close.”
Todo cambió cuando te vi De blanco y negro a color me convertí Y fue tan fácil quererte tanto Algo que no imaginaba Fue entregarte mi amor con una mirada
“Do you speak Spanish?” Kurt suddenly asks.
Blaine shakes his head. “Can’t say that I do. Why?”
Kurt shrugs, moving his arms around Blaine’s neck. “The words to this song are gorgeous, but my Spanish is a little choppy.”
Todo tembló dentro de mí El universo escribió que fueras para mí Y fue tan fácil quererte tanto Algo que no imaginaba Fue perderme en tu amor Simplemente pasó Y todo tuyo ya soy
Blaine offers up a small encouraging smile. “Try.”
Kurt nods and his face twists up in thought. “Okay, so the first verse is something like: Everything changed the first time I saw you. From black and white to color. I couldn’t imagine loving you this much. You captured my love with a single look.” He scrunches up his face. “I’m probably butchering it.”
“No...” Blaine says, staring back at him in awe. “You’re right, that’s a beautiful translation... keep going.” He prompts, telling himself that it’s for the art and not to just hear romantic words come out of this man’s mouth.
“Alright, the second verse is mostly the same, except for this one line oh, it’s my favorite: the universe wrote that you were meant for me.”
Antes que pase más tiempo contigo, amor Tengo que decir que eres el amor de mi vida Antes que te ame más, escucha por favor Déjame decir que todo te di Y no hay cómo explicar pero menos dudar Simplemente así lo sentí, cuando te vi
“The chorus is a little trickier: Before I let anymore time pass, I have to tell you you’re the love of my life. I gave you everything. There’s no way to explain it, much less doubt it, it’s simply the way I felt when I saw you.”
Todo cambio, cuando te vi...
“Cumbia.” Blaine says in the middle of a turn, unprompted.
“Huh?”
“I just remembered that it’s called cumbia... the dance from earlier.”
Kurt offers him a sly grin. “I love the trivia, but truth be told, I don’t really care what we dance to... as long as it’s with you.”
He’s not usually this forward, but he’s single and buzzed—partially from the drinks, but also from the overall romantic ambience that comes with any wedding. More than anything, we wants to give the man dancing with him a deep and passionate kiss.
“I’m...” Blaine starts. “Full disclosure... I’m seeing somebody.”
Kurt stumbles and tries to tell himself it’s the tequila when he knows very well it’s not.
“Oh,” he starts disappointedly. He shakes his head and jabs a thumb in Rachel’s direction, heading towards her. “I... I guess I should go, then. I’m sorry, I didn’t—“
“No!” Blaine says a little too quickly. Kurt turns around hopefully. “I-I mean, it’s just dancing,” he chuckles, then sends a bright grin his way. “I think I can spare one more song.”
They‘re the last ones to leave the dance floor that night.

Blaine is sitting at a table, watching Sam dance his new bride when he hears a familiar voice behind him.
“Honestly, I’ve looking for you all night, since I saw you up on the altar next to Sam.”
Blaine whips around and is met with the familiar face of the man he’s met twice before and spent both nights dancing with.
“You made a very handsome best man.”
He breaks out into an uncontrollable smile. “Kurt... we have got to stop meeting like this.”
Kurt gestures to the empty seat. “This taken?”
Blaine responds by fervently shaking his head. “No, go right ahead,” he says enthusiastically. He watches the taller man take the seat, then jerks his head towards Mercedes, dancing with her blonde haired groom. “Can you believe they met at one of these things?”
Kurt raises his eyebrows playfully. “One he wasn’t even supposed to be at, if I do remember correctly.”
“Coincidences have a weird way of playing out.”
“One might even be sure enough to call it fate,” Kurt adds, shrugging.
Blaine laughs. “Fate is a much better word...”
There’s a short but natural silence between them before the music changes to an uptempo country song.
Roll, won't you come roll with me slow, fast, full speed
Kurt practically shoots up from his chair. “Oh, my god, I love this song!”
Blaine raises an eyebrow, clearly surprised at his taste in music.
He’s met with a quick eye roll and suddenly Kurt is pulling him into the dance floor. “If you met my dad, you’d know why.”
Kurt drags Blaine along for a few beats before the shorter of the pair stumbles over his own feet. Kurt looks at him with puzzlement in his face. Blaine had always been a pretty good dancer the last two times they’d met. “You okay?” He asks.
“Okay, if I’m being completely honest here,” Blaine starts, a hint of embarrassment creeping its way into his voice. “Country is the one genre I have no idea how to dance to.”
Kurt’s astonished. “Really?”
“I just don’t get it!” Blaine defends, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Just follow me,” Kurt offers, pulling him close again. “Two steps forward, one step back.”
“But the song’s in four/four time!”
Only God knows where we'll go Don't matter long as I've got your love
Kurt can’t help but laugh at Blaine’s theatrics. He’s only ever seen the cool, composed, dancing Casanova version of him, and seeing him this way only makes Kurt like him even more.
“Sam’s tried to teach me a hundred times and it never sticks.” Blaine huffs.
“Maybe you just need an incentive.”
“Oh, really?” Blaine smirks. “Like what?”
“My number—given that you’re finally single...”
His smile widens, making his eyes crinkle. “I am.”
I don't ever want to wake up, Lookin' into someone else's eyes Another voice calling me baby On the other end of the phone A new girl puttin' on her makeup Before dinner on Friday night No I don't ever wanna know, Oh Oh No other shotgun rider, beside me, singin' to the radio
It’s only now, even after years of being friends with Sam Evans, that Blaine finally understands the appeal of the country two step. It’s not really about the dance—it’s about your partner. And he has to admit, his is pretty awesome.
“See,” Kurt starts, dragging Blaine back to reality. “You’re doing just fine!”
“I’m only as good as my partner,” Blaine mimics, teasingly spewing Kurt’s words back at him.
The song finishes and tempo slows down. This time, there’s no awkward exchange of courtesies to see if the other still wants to keep dancing, they just seamlessly meld from one song to the next.
Dancin' where the stars go blue Dancin' where the evening fell Dancin' in your wooden shoes In a wedding gown
Dancin' out on 7th Street Dancin' through the underground Dancin' little marionette Are you happy now?
“This was my parent’s wedding song,” Kurt says.
“How romantic.”
“I didn’t really find this song romantic... until now. I used to think it was just depressing.” He smiles. “But I totally get it now.”
Where do you go when you're lonely Where do you go when you're blue Where do you go when you're lonely I'll follow you
When the stars go Blue When the stars go Blue Stars go blue
“Is this the part where you tell me you want to take me home?” Kurt teases when he feels Blaine slide a hand down his back.
Blaine groans. “Oh, I want to do so much more than just take you home.”
Kurt feels the tips of his ears warm up, but manages to send Blaine a suggestive eyebrow raise. It earns a laugh from the shorter of the pair.
“What I meant was, of course I’d want to spend the night with you—have you seen yourself?”
His face heats up again at the compliment.
“But this is the third time within a year we’ve run into each other, no plan to meet up, no phone number to keep in touch.” He pauses as he tightens his grip on Kurt just slightly. “Call it what you want, but that sounds a lot like fate to me...”
“Alright, I’m done dancing,” Kurt suddenly says, much to the bewilderment of the other man.
“What? Did I do something wrong? Was it the fate thing? Was it too much?
He pulls him off the dance floor and starts intently heading somewhere Blaine doesn’t know. “No,” he pipes. “The fate thing definitely wasn’t too much...” he smirks as they reach the bathroom. “But weare going to make out by the sink right now because if I have to wait another second I think I’ll die.”
Blaine rolls his eyes. “That’s a bit dramatic, don’t you th—hmph.”
He’s interrupted by a pair of lips on his own and Kurt pressing him up against the wall, his wandering hands sliding around his waist and back.
He could so get used to this.

Kurt holds Blaine tightly in his arms as Mercedes is on stage with Artie, singing their lungs out.
At last My love has come along
Blaine presses his head against the other man’s neck, loftily mumbling along to the song. “My lonely days are over and life is like a song.”
Kurt pulls away gently and smiles at him. “Fancy meeting you here, stranger.”
Blaine just shrugs. “Well, weddings are kind of our thing, aren’t they?”
A contented sigh finds its way out of Kurt’s mouth. “I could stay here forever.”
His dance partner responds with a soft hum of agreement. “Me too... but I think our guests would get a bit restless.”
“Yeah, my dad and Finn will kill me if they don’t get a dance in with their favorite groom.”
“Ouch, I thought I was their favorite groom.”
“Don’t take it personally, I can’t help but pull focus.”
They dance for a few more moments in a comfortable silence before Blaine breaks it. “I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
Kurt pulls him in for a kiss, smiling against his lips. “I think I’ve got you beat on that one.”
“We could have this argument over who has the better husband—one no one will win, or...” he pulls Kurt’s hand and leads him off the dance floor, much to his chagrin. “We could entertain our guests like good hosts.”
“Well, we’ve only got tonight for one of those options.” Kurt shrugs, giving his husband a sly grin. “But we’ve got the rest of our lives for the other.”

Best 100 Songs of the decade!
As a new decade will be upon us shortly (the 20’s) I wanted to share some of my favourite tracks from the last 10 years. I’m a pop and rap guy mostly so that’s what you can mostly expect but hopefully a few surprises along the way. I’ll post 100 songs I really loved (in no particular order) then my top 25 absolute favourites at the end. Ok here we go
~Bad Romance - Lady Gaga
To limit myself to just one GaGa track is cruel and not easy, Edge of Glory and Born this Way are both anthems and technically this came out last moment 2009 ..but didn’t pop until 2010. A classic that makes it to most my playlists.
~Airplanes- B.O.B ft Hayley Williams (A classic no need to say more.)
~Love the Way you Lie - Eminem ft Rihanna
A absolutely brutal tune about a toxic relationship full of of lies and abuse, the powerful video really sells the tone of the song.
~Rescue Me - Skepta
Used to love Grime but gone off it for a while now. I wouldn’t call this an outright grime track but Skepta def brings the gritty uk rap scene on this one.
~Forget you ~ Ceeloo Green
Thou I prefer the Gnarls Barkley music style, this is still a awesome tune. Always fun to tell someone to do one in a sing song melody.
~Written in the Stars- Tinie Tempah ft Eric Turner
Used to love me some TT, this was a real catchy banger with great chorus by Eric Turner.
~Raise your glass - Pink (Not much to say, a pop classic)
~I need a Dr - Eminem, ft Dr Dre and Skylar Grey
This is such a underrated song. You have to really know your Dre and Em history to catch everything being said (which I won’t go into here) Brilliant tune and my fave they both worked on together that decade.
~Animal- Neon Trees
Really catchy little number that I enjoyed from first hearing.
~Look at me now - Chris Brown ft Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes
Busta Rhymes rap, that is all!
~Moves like Jagger - Maroon 5, Christina Aguilera
A great sing a long featuring two artists I’m not mad about really so a surprise like from me.
~ In the heat of the moment - Noah Gallagher’s High Flying Birds
What a tune, completely missed this first time around heard on a tv show recently checked it was this decade and then added it right on the list. Banger.
~Summertime Sadness AND ~Love - Lana Del Ray
Tumblr media
2 for 1. When Summertime Sadness came out I was mesmerised by Lana’s voice had never heard anything like it before. Safe to say she is my artist of the decade but haven’t raided this count down with all her music. A couple here and a couple of my absolute faves in my ultimate top 25. Love was very heard to keep out of my top 25.
~Stronger (What doesn’t kill you) - Kelly Clarkson
Come on now, if you haven’t belted this one out the top of your lungs at least once I don’t know what you’ve been doing the last ten years.
~Somebody that I used to know - Goyte ft Kimbra
Went thru moments of really liking this song then it really irritating me (played on radio A LOT), thankfully years later the hype has died so I can appreciate it once more.
Midnight City- M83
This is not really my sort of music at all ,so much so I’m not even sure how to describe it. Has a 80’s feel which I love. Just love the infusion of synths and instrumental. Plus the singer has a very calm melodic voice. Great track.
~T.H.E - Will.I.Am ft Mick Jagger and Jennifer Lopez
Absolutely love this song so catchy very Fergie era BEP sounding, with a great guest solo from Mick Jagger.
~212 - Azealia Banks (not much to add on this, banger!)
~Too Close - Alex Close
If you don’t recognise this song from title you will once you hear it, such a forgotten gem.
~Picking up the Pieces - Paloma Faith
Another unique voice that def makes my top ten newly discovered artists this decade is Paloma Faith, her cover of Mama Cass’s Make your own kind of music also deserves a strong mention. Also not related to the music but Paloma is mad as a box of frogs in real life which I love.
~Bangarang- Skrillex
Yeah you’re not leaving alive from this post without a Skrillex nod I’m afraid, not a big dubstep fan but jumped aboard the band wagon when it was big for five minutes, this songs only thing that made it back with me thou.
~Hall of Fame - The Script ft Will.I.Am
First let’s clear this up I’m not a massive Will.I.Am fan or anything, he was just in EVERYTHING for the first few years of the 10’s. It’s a great song regardless.
~Harder then You think - Public Enemy (What a track, can’t say much more, banger.)
~Locked out of Heaven- Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars had some amazing tracks his debut album Doo Wops and Hooligans featured some brilliant tunes which sadly I just didn’t have space for in this countdown, Grenade, lazy song , Just the way you are, but I’m showing some love to Unorthodox Jukebox here and it’s best track giving Bruno Mars a edgier new vibe.
~Chocolate- 1975
Not my sort of music usually but really enjoyed this laid back rock number,
~Get Lucky - Daft Punk ft Pharrell Williams
Disco is back! Or is was in 2013 when this tune came out, one of the biggest selling singles worldwide in the 2010’s so not much more detail needed on its inclusion.
~Let her Go- Passenger
Nice little number, always liked this one, never really got into there other stuff but had to give this a shout out.
~Can’t hold us - Macklemore ft Ryan Lewis
The Heist is one of my fave albums from the last decade features some great tracks, same love and Thrift Shop get a shout out but this track was my fave, uplifting and full of energy.
~La La La - Naughty Boy feat Sam Smith
This was Sam Smith’s big feature hit before they became the successful solo artist they are now. Great track very different to the music Sam does now.
~Work Bitch - Britney Spears
Don’t roll your eyes! This is a banger, now get to work bitch!
~Rap God - Eminem
Tumblr media
For Eminem’s big solo feature on this countdown it was between this, The Ringer or Not afraid. You may of guessed I’m a Eminem fan and have tried to keep his entries down but one does not simply do a music countdown and not include Rap God.
~Of the Night - Bastille
Really like this band they have some great hits, Pompeii is another great song of theirs that I didn’t have space to include. I went for this eerie cover version of the Corona 90’s dance classic as my pick.
~Wrecking Ball - Miley Cyrus (Leave me alone it’s a good song ok 😂)
~Riptide- Vance Joy
A little hidden gem I’d forgotten about until I put this list together.
~Who did that to you? - John Legend
Was going to obviously include All of me in this spot but then I remembered this absolute hit from Django unchained which sneaks in and takes the spot. Both great songs thou.
~Nobody to Love - Sigma (Great little dance track not much to add)
~ When the Party’s Over - Billy Eilish
Tumblr media
Yes I’m a 35 year old Billy Eilish fan ok leave me alone lol. Seriously thou this girl is super talented and she’s up there in my fave artists of the decade. There will be more of her in my top 25 but this haunting track deserves a mention.
~Turn down for What - DJ Snake ft Lil Jon
It’s Lil Jon yelling really load of course it’s a banger. Also worth mentioning Ice T did a awesome Rap rock version of this song and it’s amazing!
~Problem- Ariana Grane ft Iggy Azalea
Those saxophone’s thou! Groovy little number no explanation needed.
~Chandelier- Sia
Such a power anthem, I came out as trans in 2014 so this song holds a lot of personal meaning with me but regardless is a great song anyway.
~Thinking Out Load - Ed Sheeran
I’m not the biggest Ed Sheeran fan ,take him or most often leave him ,but did like this sweet ballad. Nothing against his voice it’s his songs that don’t often do it for me but this was great.
~Good Kisser- Usher
Never been huge Usher fan ,liked his earlier stuff, confessions and all that. This was a surprise jazzy bluesy type number thou that I really enjoyed.
~Rude- Magic (A catchy sing along tune)
~Zombie - Jamie T
This guy was one of my fave artists of the 00’s, and thou his newest stuff imo doesn’t compare to his older this was still a tune.
~I - Kendrick Lemar
This is actually best when played after the song ‘U’ , the latter being a self hating song ‘loving you Is complicated’ vs I’s ‘I love myself’ different ends of the spectrum I just included ‘I’as you can enjoy that one on its own but to get the best out of that track I highly recommend listening to U first.
~See you again- Wiz Khalifa ft Charlie Puth
A sad song given it’s a tribute to Paul Walker who died in a car accident. Was overplayed a lot at the time but stands strong several years later.
~Dark Times - The Weeked an Ed Sheeran
What a track, their voices mesh perfectly together in this somber number.
~ Trouble - Iggy Azalea ft Jennifer Hudson (Banger)
~Hotline Bling - Drake
So many Drake songs I could of included, (he will appear again in the top 25) gods plan, headlines, in my feelings, nice for what, all absolutely great tracks but I had to go for my personal fave out of the bunch.
~You don’t own me - Grace ft G-Easy
This may be an odd one to some but I’ve always loved the original by Lesley Gore and this is a amazing cover. Grace has a lovely voice (and there is a non rap version if you’re so inclined) Love a good cover version and this is a awesome cover version.
~Side to Side - Ariana Grande ft Nicki Minaj
Hmm guess I’m a Ariana Grande fan, who knew. A cheeky little number and the first appearance in this countdown of a certain fave rapper of mine.
~Panda - Desiigner (another one where there’s not much I need to add, great tune)
~Dancing on my own - Robyn OR Callum Scott
Take your pick the Robyn original or the Callum Scott cover version, both stand alone great tracks, the original more a melancholy dance track the cover a somber ballad. Both brilliant.
~Alarm - Anne-Marie
A nice little pop tune, really like her voice
~Rockabye- Clean Bandit ft Anne-Marie and Sean Paul
Speaking of Anne-Marie, another great pop track. Super catchy sing along. Sean Paul can be hit or miss for me but works well with this track.
~Human - Rag N Bone Man
This is another one there’s not much I can add this guy’s voice is amazing. Brilliant song particularly love the chains you can hear rattling throughout (reminds me of Johnny Cash’s ‘Ain’t no grave’)
~Black Beatles - Rae Stremmurd ft Gucci Mane
Yep that’s some mumble rap to add to the list (told you my music taste was varied) As a whole I don’t love mumble rap but there’s some stand out tracks including this one.
~Thunder- Imagine Dragons
One of my favourite bands from the last decade, like most there stuff. This song has a great song along chorus. Really catchy track.
~New Rules And IDGAF - Dua Lipa
Honestly couldn’t pick from the two really like them both equally. So you get a double. Catchy pop tracks.
~Sorry not Sorry - Demi Lovato
It was between this or Sober (another great Demi track) but ultimately went with the more upbeat pop number.
~Havana - Camila Cabelllo ft Young Thug (A nice chilled Latino style track.)
~Perfect - Ed Sheeran
A beautiful song by Ed Sheeran, other then ‘sing’ and the previous mentions I’m not really into his stuff but this is lovely track.
~Feel it Still - Portugal the Man
Really catchy song can’t help but tap your toes along to it.
~False Alarm- The Weekend
This was something different from the Weekend, really enjoy this song, Weekend is one of my other fave artists to come out the 2010’s.
~Sanctify — Years and years
Wasn’t keen on there earlier dance stuff but when they found there sound I really enjoyed them.
~This is America- Childish Gambino
Great as this song is you really need to watch the music video as well for the song to have its full impact. Love Childish Gambino could of put several of his songs in this list, excited for future music from this guy.
~Solo - Clean Bandit ft Demi Lovato
A cheeky little pop number you can’t help but sing along to.
~Shotgun - George Ezra
One of those artists I can’t decide if I’m into or not, like one song then not keen on the next, it’s strange, but no denying this is a great song.
~Lucid Dreams - Juice WRLD (RIP)
Tumblr media
First off Rest in peace Juice, recently died at 21, very sad. The guy was super talented and was looking forward to his future stuff. Could of picked a few tracks but this was the first song I heard of his so that’s got to be my shout out.
~Only You - Cheat Codes ft Little Mix
Although I don’t mind Little Mix this is there only entry on my list. A nice catchy sing along with a dance beat.
~Lost Without You - Freya Ridings
This almost made it into my top 25, just couldn’t find a space for it. Haunting, melodic song with Freya’s stunning vocals. Don’t play this one after a break up or a death.
~Nothing Breaks like a heart- Mark Ronson ft Miley Cyrus
~Someone you loved - Lewis Capaldi
Think this guys going to be another Ed Sheeran for me, meh most the time with the occasional great song. This one no exception.
~Shut Down - Skepta
With lyrics like ‘Ring ring pussy, it’s shut down’ how can it not be a banger 😂 Not the best song in the world I admit but good fun.
~As we enter- Nas and Damian Marley
Words can’t express how much Iove this track, such a hidden gem. A reggae- rap blend of uplifting brilliance. Great gym playlist track.
~Better Now - Post Malone
Another artist I enjoy on occasion. This is my favourite of Malone’s songs so far.
~Bad at Love - Halsey (another great pop track)
~Bitch Don’t kill my vibe- Kendrick Lamar
Could of picked a number of Kendrick tracks King Kunta, DNA, M.a.a.a.d City, If these walls could talk, just to name a few but I’ll go with the first Kendrick track I heard and loved.
~Heartbeat - Childish Gambino
So gutted I couldn’t find a spot for this banger in my 25 but I had to include it on its own. Unless you’re a CG fan it’s unlikely you’ve heard it. Highly recommended a listen. I can’t even really describe it.
~No role Models- J. Cole
A anthem with a similar feel to Keep your head up by 2pac, a sad song somewhat but with a more upbeat tempo. My personal fave J. Cole song.
~Power - Kanye West
Wow our first Kanye track. I like Kanye ,prefer his older stuff. My dark twisted fantasy was the last album of his I really liked. This was a absolute monster of a tune. Also really liked the song Runaway from the same album. Both have great intros.
~Antidote- Travis Scott
~ No Sleep- Wiz Khalifa
Super catchy song, very anthem sounding.
~Young, Wild and Free - Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and Bruno Mars
Another catchy tune, powerhouse of a team up.
~Rack City - Tyga
~ Romans Revenge- Nicki Minaj ft Eminem
Absolute banger double up from the king and queen of rap. Also a version she did with Lil Wayne which was very good but the Eminem version wins for me. Also will take the opportunity to give the Lil Wayne and Nicki song ‘knockout’ a shoutout.
~Blazin’- Nicki Minaj ft Kanye west
Another great Nicki Minaj track of the brilliant Pink Friday album. I know some of her more recent stuff hasn’t been great but she came out the gates strong in 2010.
~Pound The Alarm - Nicki Minaj
Last Nicki Minaj track I promise, could of picked this or starships as love them both equally.
~Trap Queen- Fetty Wap
Can’t lie this is something I never thought I’d like but the more I heard it the more I liked it.
~Ultimate- Denzel Curry
Yes the Vine meme song. Banger.
~Bad and Boujee - Migos
Yes more mumble rap, I’m not even sorry
~I’m not racist - Joyner Lucas
Wow maybe the most powerful song on this whole list. Nothing I explain can do it justice you have to give it a listen yourself (with the video)
~Cry Little Sister - Marilyn Manson
Boom, rap to rock just like that. I love Marilyn Manson covers, in the 00’s it was Tainted Love but this time around its this classic from The Lost Boys soundtrack. Creepy song but kinda perfect for Manson.
~Faster- Within Temptation
~End of Time - Beyoncé
Have to include some Beyoncé before this ends it’s the law. This was my favourite of hers.
~ Rumour has it - Adele
Not the biggest Adele fan but she has a few songs I enjoy, set fire to the rain and someone like you also good songs.
~Ugly Boy - Die Anwoord
Yep he’s a Die Antwoord fan 😆 I have no excuses, DA are one of my fave bands. Zef to death.
- Surf - Tommy Cash
Absolutely stupid lyrics but hilarious (need to watch the video also) it’s actually a good song with a awesome beat.
~Bang Bang Bang - Big Bang
To close the top 100 greatest songs of the decade out , some J-pop, I’m not a expert on Jpop I like a couple of artists and a few songs but had to close out with this... bang bang banger!
So here we go top 25 of my absolute faves from the 2010’s. (in no particular order)
~Radioactive- Image Dragons
This song featured in a Assassins creed game trailer (I forget which game) and I searched for it straight away, found it, fell in love, the rest is history. Great beat and vocals.
~Game Over - Tinchy Stryder, Tinie Tempah, Professor Green, Giggs, Devlin, Example, Chip
Wow with that line up it was always going to be a banger. This might be my fave beat ever! Such a tune featuring Rap and grime mvp’s from the UK.
~Gods and Monsters- Lana Del Ray
I know I said in no order but this might be my very favourite song from the last ten years. It’s not even regarded as Lana’s best but I just love everything about it, lyrics, melody and vocals. Perfect song.
~Born to Die - Lana Del Ray
Another melodic masterpiece from Lana Del Ray.
~Bad Girls - M.I.A
Yeah I’m a dude it’s weird this song gets me pumped seriously thou such a catchy song.
~In Paris - Kanye West and Jay -Z
Not much needs to be said, absolute classic.
~Over - Drake
Drake at his best imo, great beat, delivery and lyrics. My fave Drake song.
~Black Skin Head - Kanye West
Powerful song with a amazing beat, powerful lyrics, great gym song to get you pumped.
~Sail - AWOL Nation
You might have guessed by now I like a catchy sing along song with a pumping beat and somber tone. Check.
~Only love can hurt like this - Paloma Faith
Her voice in this is something else. I said it before Paloma Faith is so underrated.
~Bang Bang - Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj
Not to be mistaken for Bang bang bang by big bang featured earlier. Great pop hit.
~Take me to church- Hozier
Powerful song and video.
~Humble- Kendrick Lemar
Banger, not much else I can say.
~Uptown Funk — Bruno Mars
Can’t go wrong with this one, great hit.
~Can’t feel my face- The Weekend
Like most of the stuff this guy brings out, this awesome hit just tops that list.
~Redbone- Childish Gambino
Ok sorry Lana Del Ray but I retract your number one spot for this one. Thought it was Macy Grey or the Delfonics singing when I first heard it then discovered who it was. This has a 70’s soul feel. It’s hard to explain ,if you’ve never heard it give it a listen I’m sure you’ll love it.
~Bad Guy - Billy Eilish
Such a catchy tune, the song that introduced me to her music. Great little dance/pop hit. Fun and a bit freaky. Duh!
~Bury a Friend- Billy Eilish
The way Billy Eilish’s mind works amazes me, how she sees the lyrics, the music and video all as one package. She’s extremely talented and look forward to her taking up most the spots on my 2020’s best of list.
~I miss the misery- Halestorm
Great rock hit, has a very 80’s feel. Lead singer has a amazing voice.
~Sweet but Psycho - Ava Max
Maybe my favourite pure manufactured pop hit of the decade, any female pop star could churn this out and it would do well. Hate to love it.
~Homicide - Logic feat Eminem
If you don’t like rap you won’t get it, if you do, you know where I’m at.
~Stronger then Ever - Raleigh Ritchie
Otherwise known as Grey Worm in Game of Thrones, this guy can hold a tune. Great uplifting track.
~Speedom- Tech N9nne, Eminem
Another great Eminem feature hit. Absolute masterpiece of a record.
~I need - Maverick Sabre
Nice somber melodic song, this guys super talented.
~Cookie Thumper - Die Antwoord
The South African rap rave group strikes again, this one is pretty much a Yolande solo, the beat is insane and thou half of it is in said/sung in Africans it’s still my fave DA song.
~Monster- Kanye West, Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Bon Ivor
The title of this track doesn’t lie, beast of a track, arguably Nicki Minaj’s best guest verse ever (‘Where them girls at’ deserves a mention for sure) It’s in all my rap playlists, amazing song.
If you took the time to have a gander at my random countdown then I thank you, I fully expect you not to agree with everything, hopefully something you enjoy musically was mentioned I did my best to spread the genres as much as I enjoyed them. More music and other countdowns to come.

BEST CHILDHOOD MEMORY?:
“Roxanne! Angelina! Get over here!” The two small girls rushed over, dropping the sticks they’d been playing with. The beads tied in Angelina’s hair bumped against her back as she and her sister ran over to the picnic table, giggling. Roxanne’s curly hair had already frizzed a bit due to the humidity. Their mother was pulling out a pair of sandwiches and two pops for them. “Where’s Daddy?” Angelina asked taking a bit of her sandwich. Her mother smiled softly. “Don’t talk with your mouth full. He’s coming.” Angelina nodded and took another big bite of her sandwich. Her sister followed her lead and took a sip of her coke before biting into her sandwich. Daddy had been working so much lately. He was never home before Angelina’s bedtime anymore and he promised he’d be here today, so Angelina knew that he’d be here soon. “Mummy?” Roxanne asked. “Why does Daddy have to work so much?” “To make money,” she answered simply. “Daddy!” Angelina suddenly shouted when she saw her father approaching. She jumped up from her seat and made a dash across the park, her sister on her tail. Soon, they were both swept up in the strong arms of their father. Roxanne was the first to pull away and hurry back to the table to finish her sandwich. “You’re late,” Angelina informed her father. “Am I?” he said, lifting the seven-year-old off the ground. “I’m terribly sorry.” “Daddy,” she giggled before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Daddy ~ Beyonce
WORST CHILDHOOD MEMORY?:
There was ringing in her ears because what her father was telling her couldn’t be true. Her mother couldn’t be gone. She wasn’t supposed to be gone. Angelina tore from the room before her father could finish explaining and slammed the door to her room. As she slid down the door, she couldn’t stop the tears that were forcing their way out of her eyes. Nothing hurt like this betrayal—not even falling out of a tree and breaking her arm when she was ten hurt like this. What made her mother want to leave? What had she done that angered her enough to talk out the door and never come back? Her heart couldn’t piece together why her mother had left and it was tearing her to sherds. Slowly, she crawled over to her bed and managed to pull herself on top of it. She sat there, arms around her legs, rocking back and forth as the tears refused to stop falling. All she wanted was to ask her mother why. Then she could stop crying. If she knew what she’d done to make her mum leave, she could fix it. Her rocking became slower as her breathing became more shallow. She couldn’t breathe. What was she doing wrong now? Grasping her throat as panic settled in her stomach, Angelina tried to get air into her lungs, but it wasn’t working. She was broken. “Angelina!” her sister shouted, grabbing her shoulders. “Deep breaths. You need to take deep breaths.” Grabbing an old bag, her sister cupped the ends and pressed them up to Angelina’s mouth. “Breathe into this. Slowly. That’s it. You’re having a panic attack.” Angelina’s breathing started to slow down, allowing her to notice that there were tears trailing down her sister’s cheeks as well. Pushing the bag out of her way, Angelina wrapped her arms around her little sister, who began to sob into her shoulder. There would be no more breaking down—not when her sister needed her to be strong.
Beliver ~ Imagine Dragons
WHAT WERE THEY LIKE AS A CHILD?:
Angelina was extremely adventurous and she would often come home with bruises or scratches and the occasional broken bone. She always talked too loudly or played too rough. Wherever she went trouble followed. It didn’t matter how many times her parents scolded her; she always found a way to make more trouble when they forbid her from doing what she wanted.
I Lived ~ OneRepublic
ANY CRUSHES GROWING UP?:
She definitely had a crush on Oliver Wood when she was eleven, but that died when he became Quidditch captain. Other than that, she didn’t really have any crushes. She liked people, and she kissed them, but until her first boyfriend, she never really crushed on anyone.
Please Don’t Say You Love Me ~ Gabrielle Aplin
DID THEY KNOW/LIKE THEIR PARENTS?:
She used love both of her parents, but she was always closer with her dad. Her mum was always on her case about something or scolding her. Since her dad was very chill, she just spent more time with him. After her mum left, she slowly started to build her up to be this horrible person in her mind, and Angelina began to hate her.
Rise ~ Katy Perry
BEST INFLUENCE ON THEM AS A KID?:
Her sister. Roxanne was the complete opposite of Angelina. She followed rules, she was quiet, she almost never got in trouble. She was also Angelina’s really good friend. They talked about everything and there was never a secret kept between them. Whenever Angelina was around her, she was a little less wild.
Count on Me ~ Bruno Mars
WORST INFLUENCE ON THEM AS A KID?:
Angelina’s hometown was not the best place to raise children. Her Muggle friends were definitely the worst influence on her. Granted, they were older boys who she thought were really cool at the time. They gave her first cigarette and her first alcoholic drink. She also went to parties with them and occasionally dabbled in different drugs.
Wicked Ones ~ Dorothy
DID THEY HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS?:
Sort of. A lot of people said she was their friend because Angelina was nice to her classmates as long as they weren’t wearing green and silver. She talked to people and was really good at keeping a conversation going so people just assumed that she was friends with a majority of people in the castle. She liked talking to people, but the conversation only deep with a few of her close friends. Those people were the ones she really saw as her friends.
With a Little Help From My Friends ~ The Beatles
TYPE OF DISCIPLINE (EX. STRICT, LENIENT):
Both. Her dad was fairly lenient and her mum was somewhat strict. Her dad was always worried about things that she did, but he believed in letting her learn from her own mistakes. On the other hand, her mum wanted to involved in her life and know what she was doing and where she was going. If Angelina ever broke any rules, her mum would scold her, and she would receive a punishment.
Hearts ~ Jessie Ware
WERE THEY OVERPROTECTED AS A CHILD? SHELTERED?:
Her mum tried to be overprotective, but that didn’t really work out. If her mum tried to be overprotective or get up in Angelina’s business, Angelina would refuse to answer her questions or find ways to get around her mother, i.e. sneaking out in the middle of the night. Eventually, her mum just set rules and expected her to follow them.
It’s My Life ~ Bon Jovi
DID THEY FEEL REJECTION OR AFFECTION AS A CHILD?:
Her dad was always affectionate toward both her and her sister, especially after her mother left. She always felt like she could talk to her dad no matter what happened. When he came home from work, he would always hug her and kiss her on the forehead. Even though Angelina wasn’t an affectionate person, she always looked forward to hugging her dad.
Unforgettable ~ Natalie Cole
WERE THEY AN EARLY OR LATE BLOOMER FOR PUBERTY?:
She was pretty regular. She started to develop when she was thirteen and didn’t stop until she was about sixteen. Those years were hard for her because she felt like everything was out of yack, and boys started to notice her before she was ready to be noticed.
The Middle ~ Jimmy Eat World
DO THEY STILL KNOW ANY OF THEIR CHILDHOOD FRIENDS?:
Yes, she still knows some of the Muggle boys she used to be friends with, and most of them have kids surprisingly. Whenever she goes back home, she makes sure to visit them and catch up. Of course, she’s still friends with most of the people she went to Hogwarts.
You’ve Got a Friend in Me ~ Randy Newmen
DESCRIBE THEIR CHILDHOOD HOME:
It was a small place with hardwood floors in the living room and kitchen, tile in the bathroom, and carpet in the bedrooms. There is a sofa and a couple chairs in the living room along with a small tv. The kitchen sports an island and lots of cabinets space. A hallway down from the kitchen leads to the downstairs bathroom and the master bedroom. Upstairs are Angelina’s and Roxanne’s rooms, both on the left. The bathroom is on the right along with a guest bedroom.
Our House ~ Madness
WHAT WAS THE ECONOMIC STATUS OF THEIR FAMILY?:
They’re weren't well off by any means, but they weren’t poor either. They were smack dab in the middle of middle class. Angelina’s parents always worried about money and planned a budget every month. This meant that as a kid she wasn’t always allowed to have all the toys she wanted or if she wanted a bicycle she had to save her allowance money.
Cheap Thrills ~ Sia
THEIR CHILDHOOD CAREER CHOICE:
Once she started Hogwarts, she wanted to be a professional Quidditch player. She checked out books from the library on Quidditch and learned everything she could about being a professional player. She was going to follow through with it, too, until her seventh year and Umbridge.
Scars to Your Beautiful ~ Alessia Cara

Ambition has the eye of the eagle, prudence that of the lynx; the first looks through the air, the last along the ground.- Edward Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Baron Lytton • From a distance the world looks blue and green, and the snow-capped mountains white. From a distance the ocean meets the stream, and the eagle takes to flight. From a distance, there is harmony, and it echoes through the land. It’s the voice of hope, it’s the voice of peace, it’s the voice of every man. – Bette Midler • From the oyster to the eagle, from the swine to the tiger, all animals are to be found in men and each of them exists in some man, sometimes several at the time. Animals are nothing but the portrayal of our virtues and vices made manifest to our eyes, the visible reflections of our souls. God displays them to us to give us food for thought. – Victor Hugo • God created us with an overwhelming desire to soar. Our desire to develop and use every ounce of potential He’s placed in us is not egotistical. He designed us to be tremendously productive and “to mount up with wings like eagles,” realistically dreaming of what He can do with our potential. – Carol Kent • God is not an employer looking for employees. He is an Eagle looking for people who will take refuge under his wings. – John Piper • God is not an employer looking for employees. He is an Eagle looking for people who will take refuge under his wings. He is looking for people who will leave father and mother and homeland or anything else that may hold them back from a life of love under the wings of Jesus. – John Piper • Golden eagles don`t mate with bald eagles, deer don`t mate with antelope, gray wolves don`t mate with red wolves. Just look at domesticated animals, at mongrel dogs, and mixed breed horses, and you`ll know the Great Mystery didn`t intend them to be that way. We weakened the species and introduced disease by mixing what should be kept seperate. Among humans, intermarriage weakens the respect people have for themselves and for their traditions. It undermines clarity of spirit and mind. – Russell Means Golden eagles have an interesting way of mating, where they connect in the air while flying at eighty miles an hour and then they start dropping and they don’t stop dropping until the act is completed. So it’s not uncommon that they both fall all the way to the ground, hit the ground and both of them die. That’s how committed they are to this. I thought to myself, ‘Boy, don’t we feel like wimps for stopping to answer the phone.’ I don’t know about you, but if I’m one of these two birds, you’re getting close to the ground… I would serioulsy consider fakin’ it. – Ellen DeGeneres • Great men are like eagles, and build their nest on some lofty solitude. – Arthur Schopenhauer • He worked night and day. He made a coat that would transform him; he would be more than a man; a winged creature, beautiful as light. All the birds brought him feathers. Even the eagle. Even the swan. – Catherine Fisher • Heaven begun is the living proof that makes the heaven to come credible. Christ in you is “the hope of glory.” It is the eagle eye of faith which penetrates the grave, and sees far into the tranquil things of death. He alone can believe in immortality who feels the resurrection in him already. – Frederick William Robertson • High in the air rises the forest of oaks, high over the oaks soar the eagle, high over the eagle sweep the clouds, high over the clouds gleam the stars… high over the stars sweep the angels. – Heinrich Heine • Hippogriff, n. An animal (now extinct) which was half horse and half griffin. The griffin was itself a compound creature, half lion and half eagle. The hippogriff was actually, therefore, only one-quarter eagle, which is two dollars and fifty cents in gold. The study of zoology is full of surprises. – Ambrose Bierce • Houston, Tranquillity Base here. The Eagle has landed. – Neil Armstrong • How can you say that love is blind? Keener than a young eagle’s is its sight. – Franz Grillparzer • How sublime Upon a time-blanch’d cliff to muse, and, while The eagle glories in a sea of air, To mingle with the scene around! – Survey The sun-warm heaven. – Robert Montgomery • I am also the product of a place called Paint Creek. Doesn’t have a zip code. It’s too small to be called a town along the rolling plains of Texas. We grew dryland cotton and wheat, and when I wasn’t farming or attending Paint Creek Rural School, I was generally over at Troop 48 working on my Eagle Scout award. – Rick Perry • I am delighted, one more time, by the daring of my species and the audacity of our flying machines. There is poetry and music in our technology, a beauty as touching as that of eagle, moss campion, raven or yonder limestone boulder shining under the Arctic sun. – Edward Abbey • I believe in reincarnation. In my last life I was a peasant. Next time around, I’d like to be an eagle. Who hasn’t dreamed they could fly? They’re a protected species, too. – Lee Trevino • I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led. And through the air. I am he that walks unseen. I am the clue-finder, the web-cutter, the stinging fly. I was chosen for the lucky number. I am he that buries his friends alive and drowns them and draws them alive again from the water. I came from the end of a bag, but no bag went over me. I am the friend of bears and the guest of eagles. I am Ringwinner and Luckwearer; and I am Barrel-rider. – J. R. R. Tolkien • I did a filmstrip on pollution in the Davison area as my Eagle Scout project and showed it around town. Businesses who were the polluters were mad at me. – Michael Moore • I didn’t live in the world of disco or the world of the Eagles. – George Thorogood • I do not see a delegation for the four-footed. I see no seat for the eagles. We forget and we consider ourselves superior, but we are after all a mere part of the Creation. And we must continue to understand where we are. And we stand between the mountain and the ant, somewhere and there only, as part of the Creation. – Oren Lyons • I do not see a delegation for the four-footed. I see no seat for the eagles. We forget and we consider ourselves superior. – Oren Lyons • I don’t have to play for the Eagles. – Terrell Owens • I don’t mind doing two or three Eagles songs and playing the drums. I’m not one of those artists who’s going to sit here and deny the past. – Don Henley • I dream of eagles and bring forth sparrows. – Truman Capote • I enjoy my solo career because I get to play smaller places like clubs and theaters, and the interaction with the audience is much higher quality. It also sounds better than a baseball stadium. Everybody has a good seat, and I don’t have to play a specific part like I do in the Eagles. – Joe Walsh • I have never forgotten my days as an Eagle Scout. I didn’t know it at the time, but what really came out of my Scouting was learning how to lead and serve the community. It has come in handy in my career in government. – Lloyd Bentsen • I have no will, unless it be the will never to decide. I have been so overwhelmed by the many storms that have broken over my head, that I am become passive in the hands of the Almighty, like a sparrow in the talons of an eagle. I live, because it is not ordained for me to die. – Alexandre Dumas • I have often been reminded of the wild duck that came down on migration into a barnyard and liked it so well that he stayed there. In the fall his erstwhile companions passed overhead and his first impulse was to rise and join them, but he had fed too well and could rise no higher than the eaves of the barn. The day came when his old fellow travelers could pass overhead without his even hearing their call. I have seen men and women who once mounted up with wings like eagles but are now content to live in the barnyard of this world.- Vance Havner • I knew Glenn Frey. He called me up in 1977 and told me The Eagles were looking for a bass player, preferably someone who could write and had a high voice. That was me. – Timothy B. Schmit • I know he’d be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly. – John Denver • I know that there are some people who are perpetually negative. I sincerely believe that if you want to fly with the eagles you cannot afford to walk with the turkeys. I will walk away from those people when they start to attack the vision. – Phil Pringle • I sometimes think we ought to bring a bill before Congress changing our national symbol from the eagle to the buffalo, because we are more like the buffalo than the eagle. The eagle is a powerful bird. It flies alone. It rises up into the sky with authority. It is master of all it surveys. The eagle is an individualist and was selected from among the rest of the birds to be our symbol. But the buffalo was never alone. It always ran in a herd with other buffaloes. And, friends, I call your attention that the buffaloes are gone from the open range, but the eagles are still soaring. – Norman Vincent Peale • I think I did enough to make it. I think I made it as hard as possible for them to cut me by showing them what I can do. I think it’s going to come down to numbers. I’m just going to wait, pray and hope it’s God’s will that I’m going to be on the Eagles. My first goal was to make this squad but if not, hopefully another team saw what I did and will want me. – Jeremy Thornburg • I think the Jets came in with a legitimate offer. At that point, I hadn’t had one from the Eagles. I had to think, ‘I’ve really got to work up here [in New York]? Do you really want to deal with that on a weekly basis? – Jon Runyan • I was born by God’s dear grace, in an extraordinary place. Where the stars and stripes, and the eagle fly. – Aaron Tippin • I wish the bald eagle had not been chosen as the representative of our country; he is a bird of bad moral character; like those among men who live by sharping and robbing, he is generally poor, and often very lousy. The turkey is a much more respectable bird, and withal a true original native of America. – Benjamin Franklin • I would like to deny all allegations by Bob Hope that during my last game of golf, I hit an eagle, a birdie, an elk and a moose. – Gerald R. Ford • I’d rather have my teeth drilled than listen to that awful song, ‘Fly, Eagles Fly.’ – Chris Christie • If I associate with chickens, I will learn to scratch at the ground and squabble over crumbs. If I associate with eagles, I will learn to soar to great heights. – Andy Andrews • If I know a song of Africa, of the giraffe and the African new moon lying on her back, of the plows in the fields and the sweaty faces of the coffee pickers, does Africa know a song of me? Will the air over the plain quiver with a color that I have had on, or the children invent a game in which my name is, or the full moon throw a shadow over the gravel of the drive that was like me, or will the eagles of the Ngong Hills look out for me? – Isak Dinesen • If I were an animal, I would be an eagle. – Jamie Foxx • If I were an animal, I’d probably be a bald eagle, since I’m already bald and I love to fish. But I’d probably be a shaky-ass eagle because I’m afraid of flying. – Steve Harvey • If the Eagles were to get back together, it would have to be for the right reasons. I think it would look awful if it were just for the money. – Glenn Frey • If the Police could do a reunion… One of the biggest jerks I ever met was Sting. If he can do it, then anyone can do it. It’s not that big a deal. And the Eagles! They did it! They severely hated each other. It’s just rock and roll – Steven Adler • If we will only surrender ourselves utterly to the Lord, and will trust Him perfectly, we shall find our souls “mounting up with wings as eagles” to the “heavenly places” in Christ Jesus, where earthly annoyances or sorrows have no power to disturb us. – Hannah Whitall Smith • If we would reach a degree of civilization higher and grander than any yet attained, we should welcome to our ample continent all the nations, kindreds, tongues and peoples, and as fast as they learn our language and comprehend the duties of citizenship, we should incorporate them into the American body politic. The outspread wings of the American eagle are broad enough to shelter all who are likely to come. – Frederick Douglass • If you associate with turkeys, you will never fly with the eagles. – Brian Tracy • If you want to fly with eagles, stop swimming with ducks. – T. Harv Eker • If you want to fly with the eagles you can’t hang out with the crows. – Brock Lesnar • If you want to fly with the eagles, don’t swim with the ducks! – T. Harv Eker • If you want to soar like an eagle in life, you can’t be flocking with the turkeys. – Warren Buffett • I’ll always be a Golden Eagle – Dwyane Wade • I’m a longtime fan of American Eagle, so when they approached me about joining their ‘Live Your Life’ campaign, it already felt like an organic fit. – Shay Mitchell • I’m certainly not thrilled with everything the Eagles did, but there are some things I’m quite proud of. – Don Henley • I’m gonna say it one more time. We are Georgia Southern. Our colors are blue and white. We call ourselves the Bald Eagles. We call our offense the Georgia Power Companyand that’s a terrific name for an offense. Our snap count is ‘rate, hike.’ We practice on the banks of Beautiful Eagle Creek and that’s in Statesboro, Georgia-the gnat capital of America. Our weekends begin on Thursday. And you ain’t seen nothin yet! – Erk Russell • I’m not going to mortgage the Eagles’ future for Marcus Mariota. – Chip Kelly • In days of yore, the poet’s pen From wing of bird was plunder’d, Perhaps of goose, but now and then, From Jove’s own eagle sunder’d. I find it very exciting no matter how many times I see bald eagles. – Karen Armstrong • It’s hard to soar with the eagles when you’re surrounded by turkeys. – Adam Sandler • I’ve always thought the American eagle needed a left wing and a right wing. The right wing would see to it that economic interests had their legitimate concerns addressed. The left wing would see to it that ordinary people were included in the bargain. Both would keep the great bird on course. But with two right wings or two left wings, it’s no longer an eagle and it’s going to crash. – Bill Moyers • I’ve got my old favorites like The Eagles and Bon Jovi.- Niall Horan • Just as eagles soar through the vast expanse of the sky without meeting any obstructions, needing only minimal effort to maintain their flight, so advanced meditators concentrating on emptiness can meditate on emptiness for a long time with little effort. Their minds soar through space-like emptiness, undistracted by any other phenomenon. When we meditate on emptiness we should try to emulate these meditators. – Geshe Kelsang Gyatso • Larry Flynt, running for governor of California. We’d probably be in a much better position with him on the team (instead of present Eagles quarterback Donavon McNabb). – Terrell Owens • That kind of tenderness couldn’t be permitted to last. You only got a taste, enough to know what perfection meant, and then you paid for it the rest of your life. Like the guy chained to a rock, who stole fire. The gods made an eagle eat his liver for all eternity. You paid for every second of beauty you managed to steal. – Janet Fitch • The beaver, which has come to represent Canada as the eagle does the United States and the lion Britain, is a flat-tailed, slow-witted, toothy rodent known to bite off it’s own testicles or to stand under its own falling trees.- June Callwood • The bottom half of the page had descended into a doodle of a tiny man giving the middle finger to a giant, angry eagle with razor-sharp talons. Well, they put people first unless you happen to be a spotted owl or a giant garter snake or some other endangered species and then that seems to have priority. Obviously, you take the bald eagle and things of that sort, of course you’re going to make sure that they are saved and that they can live and you’re going to take every precaution that you can. The sun is a smouldering fire, That creeps through the high gray plain, And leaves not a bush of cloud. To blossom with flowers of rain. The sun is a wounded deer, That treads pale grass in the skies, Shaking his golden horns, Flashing his baleful eyes. The sun is an eagle old, There in the windless west. Atop of the spirit-cliffs He builds him a crimson nest. – Vachel Lindsay • The time will soon be here when my grandchild will long for the cry of a loon, the flash of a salmon, the whisper of spruce needles, or the screech of an eagle. But he will not make friends with any of these creatures and when his heart aches with longing, he will curse me. Have I done all to keep the air fresh? Have I cared enough about the water? Lord of the lion-heart and eagle-eye thy steps I follow with my bosom bare, nor heed the storm that howls along the sky. – Tobias Smollett • To an eagle or to an owl or to a rabbit, man must seem a masterful and yet a forlorn animal; he has but two friends. In his almost universal unpopularity he points out, with pride, that these two are the dog and the horse. He believes, with an innocence peculiar to himself, that they are equally proud of this alleged confraternity. He says, ‘Look at my two noble friends — they are dumb, but they are loyal.’ I have for years suspected that they are only tolerant. – Beryl Markham • To object that the facts about human nature set limits on our ability to change the world and ourselves makes about as much sense as the lament that our lack of wings sets limits on our ability to ‘fly’ as far as eagles under our own power. – Noam Chomsky • We are faithful not to the triumphant golden eagle (ironically, also an imperial symbol of power in Rome) but to the slaughtered Lamb. – Shane Claiborne • We are part of the earth and it is part of us. She didn’t know yet that her husband was dead. We knew. That’s what gave her such power over us. The doctor took her into a room with a desk at the end of the hall, and from under the closed door a slab of brilliance radiated as if, by some stupendous process, diamonds were being incinerated in there. What a pair of lungs! She shrieked as I imagined an eagle would shriek. It felt wonderful to be alive to hear it! I’ve gone looking for that feeling everywhere. – Denis Johnson • Each man is good in His sight. It is not necessary for eagles to be crows. – Sitting Bull • Each man is good in the sight of the Great Spirit. It is not necessary for eagles to be crows. Now we are poor but we are free. God displays them to us to give us food for thought. – Victor Hugo • God created us with an overwhelming desire to soar. – Russell Means • Golden eagles have an interesting way of mating, where they connect in the air while flying at eighty miles an hour and then they start dropping and they don’t stop dropping until the act is completed. – J. R. R. – T. The co-eds outnumber the men 3 to 2. They’re all good looking and they’re all rich. And folks, you just can’t beat that and you just can’t beat Georgia Southern. My feeling is excellent.- Gherman Titov • Take the road where the eagle flies, man follows where his fortune lies. – Billy Squier • That eagle’s fate and mine are one, Which, on the shaft that made him die, Espied a feather of his own, Wherewith he wont to soar so high.- Edmund Waller • That just shows you their type of class and integrity. They claim to be first class and the best organization. It’s an embarrassment and it shows the lack of class that they really have…..The Eagles would be undefeated right now with Green Bay’s quarterback. Beneath it, the caption: To Mock a Killing Bird. – Seth Grahame-Smith • The brave are born from the brave and good. In steers and in horses is to be found the excellence of their sire; nor do savage eagles produce a peaceful dove. – Horace • The correct answer is the University Titans, the West Valley Eagles, the Central Valley Bears, the East Valley Knights, the Riverside Rams. The fact you don’t even know an answer to the question like [naming all the Spokane Valley High School Mascots] means you don’t even know the district. How can you represent the district if you don’t even know it? – Matt Shea • The ‘Crue’ is not the hardest band to cover. There are no harmonies like the Eagles.- Brian Miller • The day is done, and the darkness Falls from the wings of Night, As a feather is wafted downward From an eagle in his flight. – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow • The Democrats talked about putting people first. But others – we just need a little flexibility. – Dan Quayle • The Eagle does not escape the storm. The Eagle simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It spreads its mighty wings and rises on the winds that bring the storm. – Jack White • The eagle had two natural enemies: storms and serpents. He embraced the storm, waiting on the rock for the right thermal current and then using that to carry him higher. While other birds were taking cover, the eagle was soaring. An eagle would never fight against the storms of life. – Karen Kingsbury • The Eagle has landed. – Neil Armstrong • The eagle has no fear of adversity. We need to be like the eagle and have a fearless spirit of a conqueror! – Joyce Meyer • The eagle has no liberty; he only has loneliness. – Gilbert K. Chesterton • The eagle may soar; beavers build dams. – Bill Vaughan • The eagle never lost so much time as when he submitted to learn of the crow – William Blake • The eagle suffers little birds to sing, And is not careful what they mean thereby, Knowing that with the shadow of his wings He can at pleasure stint their melody: Even so mayest thou the giddy men of Rome. – William – Shakespeare • The eagle suffers little birds to sing.- William Shakespeare • The eagle that soars in the upper air does not worry itself how it is to cross rivers. – Gladys Aylward • The Eagle, he was lord above – William Wordsworth • The Eagles and the critics were not the best of friends. – Don Henley • The Eagles ended on a rather abrupt note, although in retrospect I realize now that it had been ending for quite some time. – Don Henley • The first thing was to get down to Addie Richardson’s henhouse, and that was a goodish way, four or five miles. She found herself wondering if the Lord was going to send her an eagle to fly her those four miles, or send Elijah in his fiery chariot to give her a lift. Blasphemy,” she told herself complacently. “The Lord provides strength, not taxicabs. – Stephen King • The foolish think the Eagle weak, and easy to bring to heel. The Eagle’s wings are silken, but its claws are made of steel. – Sidney Sheldon • The haft of the arrow had been feathered with one of the eagle’s own Lures. We often give our enemies the means of our own destruction. – Aesop • The Justice Department ruled that Native American tribes are allowed to grow and sell marijuana on reservations. This decision was hailed as a victory by Native American leader Giggling Eagle. – Conan O’Brien • The last two years with the Eagles were pretty intense times. There was a lot of drinking and we were all getting high a lot. My parents were relieved when I got off the Eagles treadmill. – Glenn Frey • The League is very well when sparrows shout, but no good at all when eagles fall out. – Benito Mussolini • The little and the great are joined in one By God’s great force. The wondrous golden sun Is linked unto the glow-worm’s tiny spark; The eagle soars to heaven in his flight; And in those realms of space, all bathed in light, Soar none except the eagle and the lark. – Emma Lazarus • The mother eagle teachers her little ones to fly by making their nest so uncomfortable that they are forced to leave it and commit themselves to the unknown world of air outside. An just so does our God to us. – Hannah Whitall Smith • The plainest print cannot be read through a gold eagle. – Abraham Lincoln • The sharp knife of dawn glitters in my hand but how bare is everything-tall tall tree infinite air, the unrelaxing tension of the world and only hope, hope only, the kind eagle soars and wheels in flight. – Martin Carter • The sun is a huntress young, The sun is a red, red joy, The sun is an Indian girl, Of the tribe of the Illinois. Have I left the eagle to soar in freedom? Have I done everything I could to earn my grandchild’s fondness?- Chief Dan George • The world is grown so bad, That wrens make prey where eagles dare not perch. – William Shakespeare • There is a wisdom that is woe; but there is a woe that is madness. And there is a Catskill eagle in some souls that can alike dive down into the blackest gorges, and soar out of them again and become invisible in the sunny spaces. And even if he for ever flies within the gorge, that gorge is in the mountains; so that even in his lowest swoop the mountain eagle is still higher than other birds upon the plain, even though they soar. – Herman Melville • There is an eagle in me that wants to soar, and there is a hippopotamus in me that wants to wallow in the mud. – Carl Sandburg • There is an eagle in me that wants to soar. – Carl Sandburg • There were bars that began to have acoustic musicians play, it was 1970: Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, America, The Eagles, all that kind of stuff was popular. It was very easy for me to just kind of move in and be noticed. – Shawn Colvin • They say, ‘The coward dies many times’; so does the beloved. Didn’t the eagle find a fresh liver to tear in Prometheus every time it dined? – C. S. Lewis • Thought paceth like a hoary sage, but imagination hath wings as an eagle. – Martin Farquhar Tupper • Thy spirit, Independence, let me share! The perfumes flowers are our sisters; the deer, the horse, the great eagle: these are our brothers. All things are connected like the blood which unites one’s family. – Chief Seattle • We gotta be free – The eagle and me. see Amelia Jenks Bloomer, Emancipation of Women – Yip Harburg • We know there is a sun in heaven, yet we cannot see what matter it is made of, but perceive it only by the beams, light and heat. Election is a sun, the eyes of eagles cannot see it, yet we may find it in the heat of vocation, in the light of illumination, in the beams of good works. – Thomas Adams • We may talk what we please, he cries in his enthusiasm for the oldest of the arts, “of lilies, and lions rampant, and spread eagles, in fields d’or or d’argent; but, if heraldry were guided by reason, a plough in a field arable would be the most noble and ancient arms.” – Abraham Cowley • We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American Eagle in order to feather their own nests. – Franklin D. Roosevelt • We need a good strong opposition and I don’t know whether it’s any coincidence that we need Angela Eagle in Labour and we need Theresa May to lead the Conservative party, both of whom of course are women. – Anna Soubry • We’re definitely a hodgepodge of influences. Mine, most heavily, would be Southern rock – the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and stuff like that. Hillary is more from the country side – her mom is Linda Davis, a country singer. Dave, he’s a big fan of the Eagles and like that.- Charles Kelley • What makes a genius? The ability to see. To see what? The butterfly in a caterpillar, the eagle in an egg, the saint in a selfish person, life in death, unity in separation, God in the human and human in God and suffering as the form in which the incomprehensibility of God himself appears. – Brennan Manning • When day begins to break I count my blessings, good and bad, Being wakeful for your sake, Remembering the covenant we’ve always had, What eagle look your face still shows, While up from my heart’s root So great a sweetness flows I shake from head to foot. – P. C. Cast • When the Eagle landed on the moon, I was speechless—overwhelmed, like most of the world. Couldn’t say a word. I think all I said was, ‘Wow! Jeez!’ Not exactly immortal. Well, I was nothing if not human. – Walter Cronkite • When the eagles are silent, the parrots begin to jabber. – Winston Churchill • Who would attempt to fly with the tiny wings of a sparrow when the mighty power of an eagle has been given him – Kenneth Wapnick • Why fly like a hen when you can soar like an eagle? – Pio of Pietrelcina • Wine transforms moles into eagles. – Charles Baudelaire • Without a reunion, the Eagles are forever young, like James Dean. – Glenn Frey • Yeah, I had it all mapped out actually. Seriously. I wrote it down. I said, ‘When I’m the head coach of the Eagles, I’m going to make sure I get that guy on my team.’ And then guy next to me was like, ‘You’re only the offensive coordinator at New Hampshire.’ I said, ‘Don’t worry about it. Minor details. But it’s going to work.’ – Chip Kelly • Yes, I am sad, sad as a circus-lioness, sad as an eagle without wings, sad as a violin with only one string and that one broken, sad as a woman who is growing old. Sad, sad, sad. – Jean Rhys • You are surprised that the world is losing its grip? That the world is grown old? Don’t hold onto the old man, the world; don’t refuse to regain your youth in Christ, who says to you: ‘The world is passing away; the world is losing its grip; the world is short of breath. Don’t fear, your youth shall be renewed as an eagle.’ – Saint Augustine • You are the mountain, you are the rock You are the cord and you’re the spark You are the eagle, you are the lark You are the world and you’re remarkable You’re the ocean eating the shore You are the calm inside the storm You’re every emotion, you can endure You are the world and the world is yours. ((The World as I See It)) – Jason Mraz • You can put wings on a pig, but you don’t make it an eagle. – William J. Clinton • You can’t cage an eagle for long without destroying it. – Patricia Briggs • You can’t criticize Bob Dylan’s singing. You have to respect Billy Joel as a brilliant poet. You can’t tell me there’s a better rock band ever than Led Zeppelin. And if you speak during the Eagles’ “Last Resort,” we’re done. I’m just asking for seven minutes. This stuff really matters, you know. – Charlie Sheen • You can’t hoot with the owls and then soar with the eagles – Hubert H. Humphrey • You can’t soar like an eagle and crap like a canary. – Ed Sabol • You know, I’m an eagle, flying around in the mountains. – Link Wray • You need eagles wings to get over things that make no sense in this world. – Tom Petty • You ought not to be rude to an eagle, when you are only the size of a hobbit, and are up in hid eyrie at night! – J. R. R. Tolkien • Your choice of people to associate with, both personally and business-wise, is one of the most important choices you make. If you associate with turkeys, you will never fly with the eagles. – Brian Tracy
