The Cardigans I Shout Out Louds I Telquist waren Live in Mannheim

Im Rahmen des Zeltfestival Rhein-Neckar haben am Samstag The Cardigans ein exklusives Deutschland Konzert in Mannheim gegeben. Das Konzert der Maifeld Derby Ehrenrunde war das erste in Deutschland nach 18 Jahren und auch das einzige in diesem Jahr. Eröffnen durfte den sehr schwedisch angehauchten Abend der Regensburger Künstler Sebastian Eggerbauer aka Telquist. Mit seinem super catchy Indie Rock und Pop Sound stimmte uns der zudem super sympathische Musiker sehr gut auf die an diesem Abend noch kommenden Konzerte ein.

TELQUIST © About Musïc | Stephanie Bauer Danach waren die Shout Out Louds an der Reihe, die ihr Debüt Album Howl Howl Gaff Gaff aus dem Jahr 2003 komplett spielten. Sänger Adam Olenius erzählte amüsiert, dass es so zumindest keinen Streit um die Setlist gab. Wer das Album kennt, weiß dass es gespickt ist mit Songs die absolute Ohrwürmer und riesige Indie Hits sind. Leider fehlten von der Original Besetzung Bebban die krank war und für die kurzfristig die schwedische Künstlerin Jennie Abrahamson eingesprungen ist. Und auch Drummer Eric schien verhindert weshalb auch an den Drums Ersatz war. Die Shout Out Louds stimmten ihre Songs The Comeback und Very Loud an bevor sie dann Shut Your Eyes spielten, bei dem sie den The Strokes Klassiker Last Night anstimmten. Dank den Strokes die sie damals mit auf Tour nahmen und insbesondere Albert Hammond, erhielten sie bei Capitol Records einen Vertrag.

SHOUT OUT LOUDS © About Musïc | Stephanie Bauer Die Band hatte sichtlich Freude und diese übertrug sich umgehend auf das Publikum. Das sang und tanzte und schien unfassbar glücklich zu sein. Bassist Ted warb noch für die neu aufgelegte Howl Howl Gaff Gaff Vinyl und warf sogar eine davon ins Publikum.

SHOUT OUT LOUDS © About Musïc | Stephanie Bauer Mit den Tracks Hurry Up Let's Go, Shut Your Eyes, Seagull und Tonight I Have to Leave It der wiederum vom Album Our Ill Wills stammt, beendeten die Shout Out Louds ihr wundervolles Set. Dann waren die The Cardigans an der Reihe. Die Frontfrau Nina Persson zunächst in einem grünen Anzug mit riesiger Schlaufe stand eindeutig im Vordergrund. Mit ihrer Stimme und Ausstrahlung fesselte sie das Mannheimer Publikum an sich und nahm es mit auf eine fast schon nostalgische Reise. Mit Songs wie Losing a Friend, Erase/Rewind oder And Then You Kissed Me hatte sie zumindest uns direkt in der Tasche. Lautstark wurde neben uns mitgesungen und das Zeile für Zeile.

THE CARDIGANS © About Musïc | Stephanie Bauer Neben Nina ist besonders der Bassist Magnus Sveningsson herausgestochen, der sichtlich Freude hatte und immer wieder mit dem Publikum flirtete und sich riesig freute. An der Gitarre ist der schwedische Musiker Moto Boy aka Oskar Humlebo. Mit seinem extrovertierten Gitarrenspiel stach er hervor und legte einige großartige Gitarren Solos hin, denen Nina Persson ihren Platz ließ.

Adam Olenius, a principal voz dos Shout Out Louds | mais fotos clicar aqui Os Shout Out Louds existem desde 2001. Formados em Estocolmo, a capital da Suécia, por um trio de amigos cuja ideia na altura foi a criação de uma banda de garagem. O álbum de estreia "Howl Howl Gaff Gaff" acabou por surgir naturalmente dois anos depois.

Adam Olenius (voz e guitarra), Ted Malmros (baixo, percussão e voz) e Carl von Arbin (guitarra e voz) são os elementos fundadores. A eles junta-se Bebban Stenborg, o elemento feminino nos teclados. Ela que não atuou em Portugal nem nos concertos espanhóis, quem ocupou o seu lugar foi a sueca Esther Lennstrand. Atualmente são apenas quatro, já foram um quinteto. Em finais de 2017, o baterista Eric Edman assumiu que a vida na estrada não era para ele. Para os concertos o quarteto recorre a um quinto elemento para ocupar a bateria nas atuações ao vivo, não sendo este músico um elemento oficial da banda.

O seu som pode ser enquadrado como indie pop sueco (e europeu). São canções felizes por fora mas com uma melancolia entranhada por dentro. Têm letras cantadas em inglês. Esta formação sueca entrou definitivamente na imaginação do público português em 2008 com “Optimus Magma - De que é que precisas?" traduzida num spot para televisão de uma nova campanha da então Optimus, antiga operadora de telecomunicações móveis. Nesta publicidade, transmitida insistentemente nos canais nacionais, foi utilizada aa canção “Tonight I Have To Leave It” editada no álbum ‘Our Ill Wills’ de 2007. Trata-se de uma das canções mais reconhecidas de toda a carreira dos Shout Out Louds.

Ted Malmros, a teclista de serviço Esther Lennstrand e Carl von Arbin | mais fotos clicar aqui Nestes 22 anos de atividade, esta banda sueca, tocou diversas vezes em Portugal. A estreia aconteceu em Paredes de Coura no ano de 2006. Além de Lisboa outras passagens aconteceram, por exemplo, no festival Marés Vivas em Gaia (2008), na Casa das Artes em Famalicão (2009) e no festival ST Culterra Santo Tirso (2011). Agora em 2023, no passado sábado dia 21 de outubro, foi a vez do Porto com atuação na sala de concertos do Mouco Hotel - Stay Listen & Play. A visita à Cidade Invicta inseriu-se numa tournée pela Península Ibérica, com uma passagem única pelo nosso país. Esta incursão sucedeu-se no seguimento da promoção do álbum ‘House’, edição discográfica ocorrida no ano passado. Este é o sexto disco de estúdio da carreira dos Shout Out Louds.

Shout Out Louds em palco no M.ou.Co. | mais fotos clicar aqui Deste mais recente álbum tocaram canções como “Sky and I (Himlen)” ou “My Companion”. Na interpretação de “Very Loud” (canção de 2005) a banda fez um mashup com o “Waterfall” dos Stone Roses.

Sobretudo entre 2008 e 2012 as rádios nacionais tocaram alguns dos seus temas com alguma insistência, tais como “Impossible” ou o incrível hit “Tonight I Have To Leave It”, ambas simplesmente impossíveis de faltarem neste concerto portuense.

Apesar de esta atuação não ter registado casa lotada, não faltaram fãs com o pleno conhecimento de todas as letras.

A organização deste concerto esteve a cargo da SON Estrella Galicia em parceria com o Mouco. O conceito da SON Estrella Galicia alia música à marca de cerveja espanhola. Chegou a Portugal em 2021 depois de estabelecida uma parceria com o Mouco para a realização de concertos exclusivos. O primeiro evento teve concertos, na noite de 11 de novembro de 2021, dos dinamarqueses Efterklang e dos portugueses First Breath After Coma.
