Today I’d like to talk about NMJ and his fatal sin of stubbornness and pride.

Now I love da-ge, you know I do, but that man has pride for days and frankly he is an asshole. Not the same way that XY or JGS is an asshole but an asshole none the less.

NMJ is a man of such upright moral character that other characters *canonically* ask him to judge disputes because he is so fair and just. Except when something offends him on a deep personal level.

I.E. JGY turning spy, the non combatant Wens, WWX’s stealing of said non combatants etc.

NMJ thinks he knows best in all things and that pride literally leads to his death at the hands of a man he loved deeply once upon a time. Whether that love was romantic or not, NMJ loved Meng Yao and his decision to treat JGY not as his friend who made poor choices but as the literal *ghost of the man he loved* - with distrust and hatred as he would treat any ghost - is what killed him.

He couldn’t bear to admit he was wrong in promoting a man he barely knew nor could he admit ‘weakness’ by saying “Yeah, ok, poor life choices but I get it, you don’t have many options.” Because backtracking and changing your mind is for Beta Males apparently.

NMJ could have spared himself a lot of grief and pain if he could have just learned to bend a fucking little. Thank you for coming to my massively abbreviated TED talk.

LITERALLYYYYY THOUGH LIKE I know this is a hot take in certain circles (and I am NOT AT ALL EXCUSING MURDERING HIM KJSKCKSKF) but NMJ was not just chosen to die out of nowhere. JGY snapped because NMJ snapped, it was a whole lot of snapping. I do think JGY could've tried a little harder maybe to explain away all the bullshit he pulled prior to the stairs incident but at the same time I believe talking to NMJ is sometimes like talking to a brick wall.

THAT SAID, WHEN NMJ GAVE HIM A SLIVER OF A CHANCE, JGY SHOULDVE CALLED THE MURDER PLAN QUITS. JGY IS A LITTLE BITCH AND THIS SHAN'T BE UNDERSTATED

However as much as I think NMJ is super hot and as much as I love him, he is an asshole and he would terrify me irl. People you can't reason with because they made up their minds about you (and nothing you say will change that) are people I just can't get along with
