Hi! I want to start off with saying I love your blog and it was this blog that introduced me to a new side of the Bleach fandom, so I owe you a huge thanks for that. My question pretains to when you mentioned that you read a lot of fics where Byakuya was there when his father died in the lines of duty, and I was wondering if you could recommend those fics and any other byakuya centric ones.

You're very welcome! I am always excited see new people in the fandom, especially here on Tumblr.

I want to preface this with saying that I have kind of a complicated relationship with Byakuya. He is an interesting, complex character and I like to read fanfic about him, but I hesitate to call myself a fan. I'm mostly interested in his character as it stands in relation to Rukia and Renji. I like stories where he is shitty and causes problems. I like reading about the long, horrible history of the Kuchiki clan, and how much it screws a person up to be raised in that mess. I also just like stories that make fun of him a bit. He's a deeply strange person, and I love his weird, dry sense of humor. Byakuya-shipping usually falls flat for me: I think he's mostly ace, except for the time he fell in love with his wife, and even then, I only really like Byahisa stories where the author has done something creative with who she is and I also need her to drag his ass a little. I would swipe left on him. So, anyway, take these recommendations (and the absence of ones I have missed) with that grain of salt.

The fanfic I was specifically referring to regarding Soujun dying after a mission he and Byakuya were on together was the Rise & Ruin series by @afinepiece, specifically part 2, An Education. It's a...little-bit-AUish precanon fic where Hisana is a thief who ends up getting tangled up in the Kuchiki family after she attempts to steal a painting from them. If you're looking for Byakuya fanfic, AFP is always going to be my first recommendation, especially her Thin Red Line series. Her works are always sprawling and genre-defying, but beautifully crafted. They've got noble/family drama, intricate world-building detail, and great character writing. The Kuchiki family deserves epics, and that is what AFP is out here doing.

Funnily enough, my other favorite ByaHisa writer is all the way at the other end of the writing spectrum. @thegreenfaery. She works in the AU space, and if you enjoy Byakuya Going Thru It but also being in love with his beautiful wife. I'm biased, because she wrote it for me, but The Wedding Party is my fave of her works (80's/everyone's human AU where Hisana has to rent out part of Byakuya's house for her little sister's dirtbag wedding).

If you like Byakuya in his gothic horror era, please read dogviolet by @renjirukia. It's a closer examination of some canon between-scenes during Byakuya and Rukia's Bad Times period.

I think @lucymonster is one of the best Byakuya character writers out there, and Metaesthesia is one of the best fanfics I've ever read. It's a Byakuya - Renji bodyswap, but not in a fun way. You should really only read it if you're in the mood to have your heart kicked down the stairs. I also really like Sticks and Stones and Building Bridges. Note: Most of her works are ByaRen (these are not, at least not explicitly). That's not a ship I am normally fond of, but I get, like 3 weird days a year where I can read it.

Speaking of ByaRen, if you are into it, the other ByaRen writer I like a lot is @grizmelder, who is also a very nice person. I particularly enjoyed Heart Tangled, which is a historical AU set at the end of the samurai era, where Renji is Byakuya's bodyguard.

I was just talking about Lull the other day, but it's a lovely little fanfic by Branch about the relationship between Byakuya and Rukia and sometimes Renji. It's an older fanfic and breaks off from canon after the Soul Society arc, so you can think of it as sort of an alternate idea for how Soul Society rebuilds after Aizen's betrayal.

The Journal of Kuchiki Byakuya by @saranel is a great little fic in the form of young Byakuya writing diary entries about his life, in particular, his dealings with Yoruichi and Urahara. It's really cute in general, but in particular, I love the way it portrays Byakuya's interest in photography.

I also have a soft spot for Breaking to Bridle by Vivienne Grainger, which is about how Byakuya sees Renji, both as lieutenant and eventually as suitor for his sister.

I guess I would be remiss if I didn't mention my favorite crack Byakuya fic, which is Become a Ghost by @hardlyfatal. Orihime dies and goes to Soul Society and becomes a therapist and falls in love with Byakuya. It's pretty silly but also a lot of fun, and it's chock full of Byakuya being Byakuya.

I hope you find something you like in there! Like I said, I am not the world's best Byakuya fan (probably in the top ten worst Byakuya fans tbh) but these are some that I have enjoyed and have stuck with me!

I'm the original anon complaining about squick-inducing tags and the father/son thing. I stepped away from the discussion because frankly people's willful miscomprehension was getting exhausting. The number of people who read my take that the phrasing of tags MATTERS and responded to it with something like "So we can't tag for nsfw content??!" is baffling. I've seen multiple such discussions play out now over the months I've followed this blog and the way people consistently reach for bad faith interpretations, causing the newest round of "Wait are people really saying X?" (no they're not, but good job finding something fake to get outraged about) is exhausting. You guys really need to learn how to not take things in the worst faith possible. Or not assume everyone who complains about seeing something that upset them is an anti. Or just make fewer assumptions in general.

I will say one last thing about this, now that I've cooled off a bit, to explain my position and the logical issues I see in a lot of the counterarguments against it.

The body of a fic can contain the most filthy, explicit, most brain-bleach inducing writing you can think of, and I like that. I like that AO3 is like this. It's key to the way AO3 works. I like that if I write something like that, I can put that on AO3. I think all of us (who aren't antis) like that. Yes?

Fic tags and summaries and the stuff you click on before you get to the fic body give you an idea of what to expect. I think we can agree that this is how it works, yes? And that this is a good idea, etiquette-wise? We're on the same page here? (I dare not assume anymore TBH.)

Given that, I simply don't understand why people feel like the same lack of limitations as for fic body should apply to the tags. If potentially upsetting content should be warned for, and tags are the place to warn for upsetting content in the fic body, then where is the space to warn about upsetting content in the tags? The answer I've seen to this is to "just" use filtering, which I've explained I don't see as good enough - filtering only really works for common stuff and when your squick is roughly as broad as the filter category. The other answer is to just get a thicker skin, which I see as really callous. And I don't even have any actual clinical triggers! If you're like me, and you're hypothetically quite happy to read (for instance) a fucked-up incest darkfic, but you're not happy to see the author to just give you a hefty dose of their potentially awful writing of that straight in the summary/tags, then you have to either overfilter (and miss out on fic you'd like reading), or just... deal with it.

And yes, of course some amount of "you just have to deal with it" is always inevitable in a setting like AO3, where everyone is different, and we do just "deal with" a lot of things in order to use AO3 at all. It's not inherently unreasonable to ask people to "just deal with it". But. Given that we do have things like ratings and Archive warnings and a general etiquette around tagging certain kinds of content, then obviously "just deal with it" has limits, and a line drawn in the sand. And some of you draw the line in this specific spot - AO3 warnings are good, AO3 etiquette around tagging is good, ratings are good, but the idea that a summary or tag can be "too explicit" is not good. And you... haven't really explained why you think that to be the case. All you've done is argue that a hard definition or making it a TOS violation wouldn't be enforceable (I agree), or somewhat hysterically called it "censorship". Which isn't an argument in and of itself.

Or, to put this another way: To everyone who thinks that authors can be as explicit as they like in tags and summary (for the sake of example let's say they're free to write an entire explicit sex scene in the freeform tags) - so, to everyone who thinks like that, why do you think tag warnings and Archive warnings should exist in the first place? It's logically inconsistent. The entire concept of tags as warnings only works if they do have content and style constraints that the thing they're warning for does not.

Sidenote: "Are tags warnings or content labels" is an old discussion on OTNF. But again, I think most of us agree they tend to serve both purposes a lot of the time, and that while overwarning is bad, we are generally glad that tags can act as warnings. We can agree on that, yes?

My actual position isn't that tags shouldn't contain NSFW content, it's just that people should be mindful and use their judgement as opposed to just "NO CENSORSHIP FOR ME WHEEEE". The fic body is the space to put whatever the hell you feel like. The fic summary/tags are not. The etiquette around them will be different by virtue of the fact that they have different visibility and a different purpose. Obviously this isn't something you can incorporate into TOS, it's deeply subjective and case-by-case and depends on context and varying definitions. I don't understand why people have been calling this position indefensible, unless they were mistakenly assuming I'm advocating for some kind of actual TOS ban. Which I'm not. I'm just pushing back against the idea that you can put whatever the fuck you want in the tags/summary and it's the reader's fault for not anticipating it if they find it upsetting.

Fic summaries and tags exist on a delicate knife's edge between giving you enough hints on the fic inside but not too much, it's inherently impossible to please everyone or even make everyone comfortable. I get that. But that still doesn't mean we should just do whatever in them - that's the perfect solution fallacy. For what it's worth, most people don't just do whatever, if only for the reason that summaries/tags are meant to intrigue, not be a substitute of actually reading the thing. I think fics that have the wrong balance in that regard are actually quite rare, so to some extent this entire wank is over a mostly-hypothetical "what if everyone did this", which they don't. Which I'm sure all of us who've discussed this feel just great about. What is more common is some people using tags to share headcanons the way they would on a blog post, which can skirt over that "Eep I'd have preferred not to read that without warning" line and I don't think it's actually wild or radical or pro-censorship to say "Maybe... don't do that in the tags? At least when it's rape/incest/underage/super graphic violence etc.? Just a thought." I mean, it's the same reason people on Tumblr can have entire NSFW blogs but still choose to put some things under a readmore and warn for it at the top. Sometimes the difference between getting squicked and not squicked can literally just be "I had a five second warning to mentally prepare myself for this, and now that I have, I'm cool to read it". You can't have that five-second warning if you're scrolling through fic, however well-filtered your search results may be, and can encounter whatever.

I get the kneejerk response against anything even vaguely censorship-adjacent but you were insensitive and unnecessarily combative about it. Peace out, sorry I blew up at you.)

Tl;dr: Censorship is about what content is allowed in fic hosted on AO3. Discussions about the most user-friendly way to communicate that content to other users have nothing to do with censorship. Everything about that is etiquette-based and vibes-based, that doesn't mean we should give up on having any (soft) etiquette-driven guidelines, especially since we already have some, such as tags-doubling-as-warnings. Authors should exercise some judgement as to how much detail/vivid descriptions in tags/summaries are too much, especially since avoiding over-vividness is often a good idea for other reasons anyway (it can be tacky and give things away in a sorta unfun way) so it's not like it's a lot of skin off the author's nose to avoid that.

Not to go on a Bleach tangent on the Naruto blog but Ichigo's thing is "I want to protect my family/friends" which I think if that's your ONLY thing it's pretty dull. Also one of the many flaws with Kubo's writing is Ichigo doesn't have much agency in the story, stuff just happens to him which isn't really a compelling route to take in a shounen manga. Something happens to one of Ichigo's friends, he reacts. And by the last arc Uyuu's gone for god knows how long before Ichigo even notices (that's hilarious though so I'll allow it).

The "saving a friend" plot works for like, an arc, and it did, the Soul Society arc, but after that you need to find something new. I think there was something there kind of in the next arc in that Ichigo kind of seemed more interested in fighting people than saving Orihime, but that is BARELY addressed and is dropped for fighting Aizen king of bullshit.

Another thing common with Ichigo is he goes into funks about not being able to protect people or not having a purpose (??? was that his issue) when he loses his Soul Reaper powers and someone else always has to get him out of it?? Once again, no agency.

AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE HUMAN/SOUL REAPER/HOLLOW/FULLBRING/QUINCY THING OMG I'M SO MAD.

Okay, I was wondering when this would take a turn and here we are. You came into my inbox asking me about invasive shit. You suddenly started throwing around a stranger's abuse in a way that was obviously supposed to make me feel bad for liking a third of a game. You're talking to me in a way that implies that you seem to think you have something to do with me. I'm not defensive, I'm annoyed. There's a pretty substantial difference. How were you thinking I'd react to some anonymous rando asking me about my feelings on rape, and acting like I somehow have something to do with a stranger's abuse? Was I supposed to just go "oh, sorry, I forgot that every stranger on the internet is in charge of my bodily autonomy! I will now proceed to remove this character from my mind with brain bleach!" How often do you have people asking you about this stuff? Because lemme tell you, it's weird and rude to walk up to strangers and start asking them random interview questions about a free dating sim. Are you also going up to people who like Strade and asking them about cannibalism??? Have you asked a Sano stan about whether or not they kidnap people and turn them into dolls today??? Honestly going after the tentacle demon lover should be lower on the list, considering realism.

Second of all. It isn't just your trauma to be explored. It's also mine. No one is fetishizing anything about you, because you aren't in any way involved in my relationship. You are not a participating .ember of my life. This isn't about you, and was never about you at any point. You aren't me, or Rire, or any other character in that game. You are a completely separate entity. A total stranger who for some reason latched onto my blog, despite me not talking about Rire in MONTHS. I don't need your permission to explore my trauma, any more than you need my permission to dislike this game.

Furthermore? Why do you assume I in any way keep up with ANY of the creators of this dating sim, besides maybe darqx??? I genuinely would have no particular reason to. I downloaded BTD in 2017, and honestly haven't looked at the download site since then. Frankly Rire and his route are the only part of the game and lore I care about. I don't even look at his creator's stuff that often. I would have 0 reason to ever need to look up the other artists, and obviously have not done so, because quite frankly I didn't even remember their usernames. Why in the world are you acting like I'm complicit in someone else's abuse when my ship and love for Rire have nothing to do with anything?

AND ONE MORE THING. Not here to incite discourse? Then why ARE you even here? Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry-Anime Review

Hello, ladies and gentlemen and everyone else from all across the multiverse! It's been a long, long LONG while but finally, I'm back to this here blog, and today, just as I promised in my review of Kokoro Connect. Today we'll be talking about another project of SILVER LINK in collaboration with Nexus. This one has many names, Chivalry of the Failed Knight, Rakudai Kishi no Eiyutan, Tale of the Worst One, take your pick, everybody. That being said, for the remainder of the article I will stick to calling it the way I do in the title, or some abbreviation of that for the sake of simplicity. Now, let's see what timeframe we're dealing with.

It's the fall of 2015. Haikyuu's second season's starting, One Punch Man's happening, and A-1 Pictures is pushing out Gakusen Toshi Asterisk. Keep that one in mind, it's important. In that sort of environment, SILVER LINK releases a short series based on a Light Novel written by Riku Misora and the subject of today's article.

What Is Rakudai?

Imagine if you will, an academy for gifted youth who can shape their souls into powerful weapons. These Blazers, as they are called, train at a prestigious academy to become Mage-Knights. In a funny coincidence, in February of the same year, a little-known series called Black Clover began publication., Rakudai was still first with mage-knights between those two tho, the novel starting in 2013. That tangent aside tho, among the students of Hagun Academy, one is deemed a failure. His name is Ikki Kurogane. The series centers around him trying to prove his worth to everyone. And ohhhhhh boy did they mess up calling him a failure.

Ikki Kurogane-The Worst Knight

As a failure, Ikki didn't have proper training like other Blazers did, but that didn't stop him from learning. He developed a skill of his own, Blade Steal, the ability to mimic someone's style after witnessing it, which he used to hone his craft as a swordsman. Where other Blazers' weapons gifted them with essentially super powers of different kinds, Ikki's Intetsu was not like that, it was for all intents and purposes, a plain old sword. But due to Blade Steal, he had become an extremely competent user of that hunk of..metal..soul? Soul metal? What is this, the Minecraft Bleach Mod? At any rate, he's very good with a sword, and only gets better once he initiates his once-a-day super buff, Itto Shura! Which roughly translates to "I am a superhuman god swordsman, what you gon' do?" It dramatically improves Ikki's already impressive physical abilities from strength to speed to perception, to a plethora of other things. So, we have our protagonist set, especially with a pretty good performance from Ryota Osaka.  The voice of Sadao from The Devil's a Part-timer, Tanikaze Nagate from Knights of Sidonia, Apollo from Danmachi and Cheval from Monster Hunter Stories Ride On. But any knight worth his salt should have a lady right? And Ikki is no different.

Stella Vermilion-A Himedere Done Just.

I don't know if schools in Poland are just out of fashion or something but co-ed dorm rooms and stuff never really flew here, and whoever decided to put a literal princess in the room with the school's biggest fail was either a master of irony, a moron, a genius, or some combination of the above. And if you asked me which is true, I'd say "Yes". However, we can all agree that the first meeting between these two is, well, rather humorous. Imagine for a moment you're in Stella's shoes - first of all, they're probably very comfortable. Secondly, you've just been assigned to a room and you're changing, when suddenly a boy walks into your room and sees you in the act. Using his infinite wisdom in a way I can only describe as "Somehow", he sees that the only way to make things right is to show himself naked to you, taking off his shirt. Yes, my friends, this series is an Ecchi and, honestly, a pretty nice one.

Needless to say, Stella doesn't take too kindly to this and immediately demands Ikki be taken out of the room, to which the boy of course objects as it was his first. The matter is fortunately resolved and over the course of the series, the two get gradually closer and understand one another better, in a pretty realistic way if you ask me, which is always a plus.  And while we're at it, let's praise the series some more.

The Technical side.

The music within this anime is a definite strong point in its favor. I find it to be composed beautifully and the fact it uses classical instruments more than digital ones is a definite plus when it comes to how emotive and immersive it can be. Koutaro Nakagawa did a fantastic job as the composer. And along with sound director Jin Aketagawa, they crafted a really pleasant sonic experience. But granted, given their portfolios that shouldn't surprise anyone. Nakagawa's work includes Code Geass and Gosick, as well as Yu-gi-oh Arc-V and Digimon Universe, while the latter of these fine gentlemen is the sound director of Your Lie in April, Food Wars, Fire Force, Dr. Stone, Toradora, Re: Zero, Horimiya, Fruit Basket, Highschool DxD and many others. If we are to talk about the sound of Rakudai, I feel it's an absolute crime not to mention Identity, the opening theme of the series performed by Mikio Sakai, which I have been in the past guilty of listening to on loop. What can I say? It's a good song, and if you pay attention to the visual style of the opening. That provides us a neat segway into the next part. 

The Visuals

This mostly monochrome palette shift is something that to me is synonymous with Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry. It is an aesthetic utilized in decisive moments of a battle and it really puts me in the moment each time the colors said their bye-bye. That coupled with some really fun to watch sword combat and the hype generated when that ace in the hole, Itto Shura came out, plus a generally smooth animation quality and a cast of fun characters, even if not too many got action in the span of these 12 episodes, are definite positives.

The Rival

Remember how I said to keep A-1's Asterisk in mind? The two series definitely have their similarities and had been considered rivals in a sense. The funny thing is, they were really close, despite the fact that, unlike Asterisk War, Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry wasn't really promoted.

"But Rouga!" I hear you saying "Asterisk had two seasons and Rakudai only had one. That must mean Asterisk did better right?" While the first statement is certainly true, the second we could debate but I frankly don't find the need to. Asterisk's anime was at its creation planned to have two seasons while today's subject only had one. Both series were simply made to promote the source material. This still doesn't stop people from asking when the second season is coming on the author's MAL page of all places, which to me is a bit humorous. I do think that both these series did rather well at their task. I certainly want to pick up the novel of Rakudai and read it.

Conclusion

I have to admit, the series as a whole, the anime at least - I cannot speak for the novel as of right now - isn't that spectacular. Much like Battle Game in 5 Seconds, which I already covered, it's an anime that I simply had a fun time watching. That said I do place it a good bit higher on the list than Battle Game. It's actually one of two anime series that I hadn't watched alone. A friend of mine came over to my house every once in a while and we'd watch it together on her recommendation. I really liked that. And for those fond memories, I must thank the studio, Riku Misora, and everyone involved in the creation of this piece of media. I sincerely hope you give it a shot. It may not be the most stellar but just like Ikki Kurogane himself. It is far from the worst.

Mark sighed as you walked passed him on the sidewalk, talking with some girl he didn't know. He hated how you acted as if he wasn't there and even more how upset it made him. Why couldn't he just get over you? He had kissed plenty of girls and been over it the next day. What was so special about you?

"Hey, why don't we go to a party tonight?" Jeno suggested, noticing his friend's downcast expression. "Yeji's having dinner with her mom, so I'm free."

It had been a minute since Mark went to his last party. He had been so preoccupied with his thoughts of you. Maybe a party was what he needed; other girls to get his mind off you.

He certainly was getting over his upset feelings, which were being replaced by frustrated ones. "Let's do it. A party sounds really good right now," he finally said. He was ready to make bad decisions and regret them on a later date.

For now, he just wanted to stop thinking about you. It was obvious you didn't care. You kissing him that night must have been a mistake. He wished he felt the same way.

"And, you know, maybe Y/N does like you. Yeji said so herself that Y/N's always wanted a boyfriend that her parents adore, so maybe her fear is just that they won't like you."

Jeno was clearly just trying to make him feel better, but it wasn't working. So, what? Mark had to be a completely different person just to be with you? He wanted you to like him for him, not for someone his parents wanted him to be.

As they walked by the library, he glanced at his reflection in the windows. Was it his hair? The bleached blonde look may be off-putting. His clothes? They could be worse...nothing was wrong with leather pants here and there. He remembered the cigarettes in his pocket. That was a bad habit he had always wanted to quit but never had the motivation to do so. Maybe you could be his motivation.

He had a sharp tongue, too. Respect was always something he tried to work on. Personally, he felt that he should only give his respect to those worthy, but that wasn't South Korea's culture and he was expected to respect all his elders/superiors. His partying ways, well, those seemed to be dying out on their own due to you.

Was he really willing to change some of these aspects of himself for you? It seemed silly, but he was going crazy because of you, so might as well add more to that list...right?

Jeno decided Mark had been at the party long enough. It was 11 PM and his friend was drunk and kissing yet another random girl. The party was a bad idea. Mark wanted you, so what was he doing? If you saw photos of the party and happened to see Mark kissing some girl in the background, it would be over.

Even if Jeno was just as unsure about your feelings for Mark, he still wanted to make sure the boy had a fighting chance.

"Why doesn't she want me?" Mark whined, his head slumping on Jeno's shoulder. "Am I that awful?"

It wasn't Jeno's first time seeing Mark drunk, but it was definitely his first time seeing an upset Mark drunk. He felt clingy and pouty...and childish. "You're not awful. Some people are just scared of love," Jeno reminded him, trying his best to keep Mark from slumping over completely. He needed to get some coffee into him. "I thought you were the same way."

Mark snorted. "Yeah, me too, but then stupid, good little girl Y/N came along and ruined me. Why does she have to be so perfect?"

Obviously, you were far from perfect, so it was amusing to hear Mark say you were despite everything. "You really like her a lot, huh?"

"It's like how you feel with Yeji. You know that feeling, right? Just thinking about them makes your chest tighten with happiness. That's how I feel about Y/N," Mark confessed quietly. "It's dumb, but she makes me feel like I'm not as bad as other people think I am. I like that feeling."

Jeno understood well. Before he was dating Yeji, he was in Mark's shoes, but Yeji helped him realize he had just acted that way to fit the image society had of him. He imagined it was the same for Mark.

A sigh left Mark's mouth followed by a loud groan before he whined out, "Where are we going? I'm tired!"

"Getting some coffee to sober you up and wake you up enough to get you home," Jeno told him as they arrived at the coffee shop. He glanced inside and found it was empty, which wasn't surprising. Then, you appeared. Crap. That wasn't good. "You stay here, okay? I'm gonna grab something really quickly. If you leave, I'm telling Y/N about all the girls you kissed."

Mark merely whined in protest before slumping against the wall. Jeno made sure he was able to stand on his own before rushing inside. "Welcome!" you greeted before turning around. "Oh, hey Jeno. You're alone?"

He felt nervous. "Why wouldn't I be? Yeji's with her mom."

"I know that, but I just thought you'd be having a guys night or something."

Right, that made sense. He needed to chill out. "Anyway, what can I get for you?" you asked just as Hyunjin, Yeji's cousin, left the storage room. "Oh, did you finally clean up your mess?"

He narrowed his eyes at you after greeting Jeno. "I wouldn't have spilled those coffee stirrers if you hadn't scared me," he reminded you, poking your side in a playful manner.

You were flirting with him. That wasn't good. Jeno checked to make sure Mark hadn't seen you. Luckily, the coast seemed clear. Jeno turned and you were staring at him. Did he look suspicious?

"Jeno...your order?" you questioned.

Ah, right. Duh! "Um, whatever has a lot of caffeine in it," he finally said and you nodded. "Something sweet, I guess."

Turning, you went to prepare his order. "What do we do, Y/N?" Hyunjin questioned. You turned and looked at him, confusion and concern evident on your face. "What do we do when he asks for something sweet and the sweetest thing here is you?"

Jeno wanted to hit him, but he didn't since he was Yeji's cousin. "Shut up!" you giggled, elbowing him.

"Oh, wow, isn't that cute," Mark said from the doorway, making Jeno jump. Shit. "Honestly, fuck you, Y/N."

What was he doing? "Dude, shut the hell up," Jeno hissed, trying to get Mark to leave, but the older boy refused. "Seriously, don't do this now."

Mark, unfortunately, was drunk and stubborn. "Here I've been suffering because you left me after we kissed but you've been flirting with Yeji's cousin. Don't you have a fucking heart or a little bit of decency? If you don't like me then fucking tell me instead of acting like I don't exist!"

You and Hyunjin were both stunned. Hyunjin felt uncomfortable and a bit apologetic. "There's nothing between me and Y/N," he tried to tell Mark.

"I don't care what you say. You expect me to believe you're just friends with her after I just watched you flirt?" Mark asked. "Can't say I blame you...she's perfect."

Jeno saw Mark's vulnerable state as an opportunity to get him to leave. "Okay, let's go," he sighed. Luckily, Mark complied. "Sorry about this, Y/N. He's not in the right state of mind."

The two left, leaving you still stunned and holding a coffee cup.

Yeji and Jeno went over to Mark's apartment the next day to confront him about everything. It wasn't meant to be intense, they just thought they should talk to him. When they got there, however, he was gone. According to the building's security guard, he had left after Jeno did. That worried them.

They called you to see if you knew anything. "No, I haven't seen him since last night. Why? Did something happen?" you asked before they explained. "That's not good. I'll go check the other apartment and keep you guys posted."

So, you left to see if he was there. You were really hoping he hadn't done something dumb and gotten himself into trouble.

When you got there, you could hear muffled voices. One of them had to be Mark. The other, however, was a mystery? Was it a girl? Mark said they didn't bring just anyone there to keep it private. You hated how worried you were at the thought of it being another girl.

Even so, you input the passcode before entering. "I fucked up!" Mark cried out, storming down the hall as you entered.

A tall guy was standing in the living room. "Oh, hello," he greeted. He looked you up and down before smiling. "You must be Y/N."

You nodded, still confused. He walked over and held his hand out. "I'm Johnny, Mark's friend. I've heard a lot about you," Johnny informed you as you shook hands. "I'm glad I finally get to meet you."

"Is Mark okay?" you asked, still confused.

He laughed. "Definitely not. Let's just say he did something he's regretting pretty instantaneously." You nodded. "Mark! Your girlfriend is here!"

You blushed at that. "Fuck!" Mark cried out from the bathroom.

Johnny turned back to you, still smiling. "Well, Y/N, it was a pleasure to meet you and I hope I can meet you again to better get to know you," he said. "For now, I'll leave you to handle the boy. Have a good day."

"B-bye, it was nice meeting you," you managed out as he left. The bathroom door opened again and Mark left with his hood on, the drawstrings pulled so you could barely see his face. "Mark, what did you do?"

"N-nothing! Don't worry about it," he told you nervously. "Why are you even here?"

Right, you needed to text Jeno and Yeji. "Jeno and Yeji went over to your place but found out you left in the middle of the night, so they were worried."

He nodded. "Okay, well, I'm alive, so you can just text them and be on your way."

Your eyebrows furrowed. "What the hell did you do, Mark?" you asked, stepping closer to him. "You didn't get a face tattoo, did you?"

"No!" he cried out, backing into his room to avoid you. "Just leave me alone!"

Of course, you just had to know what he was hiding. You could see he was about to trip over his mattress, so you used that to your advantage. The moment he fell backwards on the mattress, you tackled him.

He squirmed beneath you as you reached for his hood, ignoring his protests. Your eyes widened once the hood was down. "Mark! Your hair!" you gasped. Your fingers went to his now black locks. "What did you do?"

Clearly, he dyed and cut his hair, but why? "I did it for you. I thought you wouldn't be so embarrassed to introduce me to your parents if I looked more presentable. Now I look like an idiot who changed for some girl that doesn't even like him."

"Mark, I liked your hair and I don't want you to change who you are. I do like you, Mark."

His eyebrows furrowed. "You do? But...you left me," he reminded you.

You nodded. "Because I was scared. I mean, my boyfriend getting along with my parents is important to me and I also want a boyfriend who only loves me, but I wasn't sure you could do that," you confessed. "But that's different now."

Sitting up, he held onto you to keep you on his lap. "What do you mean?"

"Yeji told her mom about us and, it just so happens, our moms are friends. Her mom told my mom everything and my mom called me this morning to tell me to stop being stupid and date you." You laughed at his surprised reaction. "I guess I was so scared that I didn't think to talk to my mom. She told me that she thinks you sound like a sweet boy. She said any boy who treats me like a queen is good in her book and that I need to stop stressing and do what makes me happy."

Mark's heart was pounding faster than ever as he asked, "What does this mean?"

You smiled, running a hand through his freshly dyed hair. "It means that, if you'll accept me and forgive me for being a bitch, I wanna be your girlfriend," you confessed, making him smile wider than he had in a while.

"I'd love nothing more," he told you softly before connecting your lips. He had missed your touch and taste and wanted nothing more than to just melt in it. He briefly broke the kiss. "And don't use that language, okay? You're supposed to be my good little girl."

Giggling, you nodded before saying, "And only your good little girl."

"Shit, things are getting real PG-13 in here," Jeno said from the doorway, making you and Mark jump. "Damn, I really didn't expect this."

Yeji squealed happily. "This is great! Think of all the double dates and our joint wedding!" she exclaimed, making you laugh. Her eyes suddenly widened. "Mark! Your hair!"

His hand instinctively went to the black locks. "It was an impulsive dye job. I thought if I dyed my hair, her parents might like me and we could date," he confessed.

"That's so sweet! You dyed your hair just for our little Y/N? He's a keeper, babe."

You smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I guess he is," you said, making him smile.

Jeno was so glad things worked out, especially after the night before. "Come on, we came to take you to breakfast, but I guess it can be our first brunch double date," he said, making Yeji clap happily.

They led the way and you followed but were stopped when Mark tugged at your wrist, pulling you into him. "One more for the road," he mumbled before kissing you again.

You smiled into the kiss and he decided it was one of his new favorite feelings ever. One thing was for sure, you were his good little girl and he was your not-so-bad little boy.

Grimmjow lost. He lost, all because of that damn Nnoitra. The thought of it boiled his blood; he wanted nothing more than to go after the bastard and kill him for taking such a cheap shot at him like that. He couldn’t move, though. It was over, and he was sure he was going to die where he lay. The coarse grains of sand chafed his bruised and battered cheek, embedding themselves into the various open wounds on his body, grating into him like sandpaper, blood pooling from his body onto the white sands around him. He really lost. Unable to even ball a fist or groan without feeling as if shards of glass were etching themselves into his deep wounds, all Grimmjow could do was wait. Wait for death, he assumed. ‘Damnit,’ he thought. ‘So this is how I die.’ He was confident he could have taken Nnoitra if it hadn’t been for the element of surprise, but none of that mattered now. He tried to scoff, but his lungs felt raw and weak, the strength leaving his body along with the steady flow of blood. ‘Damnit.’

“Grimmjow!”

The voice was distant, so faint that he thought maybe he imagined it. However the voice rang out again, this time closer and accompanied with the sound of footsteps sliding through the glistening sands. “Grimmjow!” That voice, it sounded familiar. At this point his pesky thoughts were growing hazy. Grimmjow couldn’t quite point the voice out.

“Grimmjow?!” Delicate hands grabbed his rugged shoulders and pushed him over onto his back, a shaky hiss of pain croaking through Grimmjow’s chapped, sandy lips. He could make out a figure, although it was blurry. A woman for sure, by the sound of her voice. He blinked once, twice. She was speaking hastily but he couldn’t make out the words that she was frantically saying. He blinked again, three times in rapid succession this time. Just barely he could make out the color of her soft strands of hair, the worry etched into the middle of her eyebrows, her big, doe-like eyes that looked panicked. Ah, it was that Shinigami. ‘What a weird woman,’ Grimmjow thought, to be looking so distressed over him, one of her captives. He couldn’t understand it. It didn’t matter, though, as the edges of his vision began to fade to black. This was it, the end of the King, fallen so ungracefully from his throne, weak and pathetic in a pool of his own blood. His last thoughts cursed that damn Nnoitra, as well as the strange Shinigami girl who was still frantically speaking as if he could even respond to her if he wanted to. ‘Damn them all.’

The waiting was torture. No matter how hard you tried to take your mind off of things, off of him, you always found yourself right back at his bedside, waiting for him to wake up. The vibrant, electric blue hair was stark in comparison to the white walls, floors, and bed in which he lay. His face was scarred and bruised, and even while unconscious held a distinctive, angry scowl on it. You weren’t completely sure why you cared so much about whether the man lived or died. When you had escaped the fortress of Las Noches amidst all the chaos caused by your Shinigami friends you had expected to be free, to reunite with everyone and return to Soul Society. However, to escape and see that same vibrant, electric blue head of hair, surrounded by crimson staining the pearly sands around him, you had found yourself unable to walk away. Perhaps you would have been back home by now if you had left him there to die, but you couldn’t. Every string in your body pulled you right towards the violent man, knowing that you had to help him. And so you did. Now, once again, you were confined to the bleak walls within the citadel known as Las Noches, waiting to see if the man would awaken.

Gripping the edge of his bedsheets, you leaned over the unconscious man and watched his steady breathing. A small, tentative hand reached out to brush a piece of hair away from his forehead. You paused, waiting for a reaction. Nothing. With a sigh you settled back into the chair in which you sat, creaking beneath your shift in weight, crossing your legs in an attempt to make yourself more comfortable. “Please,” you mumbled, unsure of whether you were talking more to yourself or the man which lay in front of you. “Wake up already.” Pause. Nothing. You sighed again. Just as you began to stand from your chair to find something within the walls of your captivity to free your mind from worry, even for just a moment, before inevitably returning to sit and wait by Grimmjow’s side once again, a hand jolted out and grabbed you by the wrist. The suddenness caused you to jump, the grip on your wrist weak in strength, calluses rubbing against the softness of your own skin.

Grimmjow groaned, his hand falling from your wrist. You choked out a gasp and suppressed the urge to shake him by his shoulders and berate him with questions. Instead, you opted for a simple, “How are you feeling?”

Grimmjow grunted as he tried to sit up, with you quickly attempting to help him, much to the man’s irritation. Unfortunately he was still too weak to pull away from you. “Like shit,” his voice cracked, dry and scratchy from his long sleep. It had been three days since his battle with Ichigo. Three days since his loss. The thought made him ball his hands into fists and grimace at the bed sheets. “I’m going to kill that bastard.” You grabbed the glass of water sitting on a nearby table and handed it to the clearly quenched male, Grimmjow snatching the glass from your hand contentiously and chugging the water, droplets dripping down his chin. Not that he cared. You almost snorted, but refrained, knowing that would probably only further upset him.

You waited for a moment for Grimmjow to get his fill of water before tentatively saying, “I’m glad you’re okay. I thought you were dead when I first saw you.” Shifting slightly in your seat, somewhat embarrassed by yourself, you avoided the side-eye contact that Grimmjow was sending your way. Why did a Shinigami care if an Arrancar lived or died? You weren’t so sure of that answer yourself, but over the couple of weeks that you had been imprisoned in Las Noches you had found yourself intrigued by the bluenette, and you figured he must have felt somewhat the same as he hadn’t killed you—or tried to—yet. In fact, he had even saved your ass once from an enraged Yammy, something that he had no obligation to do. You weren’t sure if he had done it for you or if he had just wanted to pick a fight with the tenth Espada, but nonetheless you felt like you owed him for that. Fidgeting with your fingers in your lap, still avoiding those cerulean eyes boring straight through you, you stood from your chair and sighed. “Well then, now that you’re awake-“

“Don’t expect me to thank you,” he snapped, looking away to glower at the wall. You knew better than to think that he was mad at you in regards to his gruff behavior, rather that he was still bitter over his loss. Knowing better than to push it any further, you flashed him a small smile, one that he didn’t return.

“Well, now we’re even then, alright?” Turning to make your leave, you gave a little wave over your shoulder. “You should rest now. I’ll be around.”

Grimmjow huffed. Weird ass Shinigami. He wouldn’t admit it, but maybe she wasn’t too bad. Maybe.

“Don’t push yourself too hard,” you warned, knowing it wouldn’t make a difference to the Arrancar. Grimmjow stretched and rolled his shoulders, muscles stiff and bones cracking after spending the last several days confined to a bed, finally standing on his own two feet for the first time since his defeat. If it hadn’t been for the nagging Shinigami he would’ve been out of there way sooner. “Shut it,” he snapped, although it didn’t phase you in the slightest by now, far too used to his attitude at this point. “Don’t treat me like I’m some wounded kitten.” You could have made a retort at that comment, being that he very much was like wounded kitten, but you figured that might end in your death, surely.

“Just trying to help.” You sighed. He truly wasn’t lying when he said not to expect a thank you.

“I don’t need your help. I’m going to kill that damn Nnoitra, then Ichigo next.”

Your eyebrows raised, “Huh? Nnoitra is dead, Grimmjow.” He whipped around at your revelation, his expression a mixture of shock and anger. “He was defeated by a Shinigami captain.” An eerie silence rang out throughout all of Hueco Mundo, a silence that indicated a halt in battle. That is, for the time being, at least. The silence scratched at Grimmjow, a strange feeling for sure. The lack of fighting only indicated a moment of rest before the real war began. It was only a matter of time. Grimmjow itched to be back out there, to fight the substitute Shinigami named Kurosaki Ichigo. Soon, he promised himself. Soon.

A frown etched itself onto your features. It wasn’t hard to tell that Grimmjow was thirsting to fight this war, however you knew if he fought so soon after his near death that he would surely die this time. “Maybe...” you teetered, shifting your weight onto your other leg and peeking at Grimmjow to gauge his reaction. “You should sit this battle out. If you fight so soon, you’ll surely die.” A low growl echoed throughout the room, bouncing off the blank walls and reverberating through your body. He sounded like a beast. Although, that’s what an Arrancar was, right? Somehow you began to have your doubts. Could a Shinigami really, in good faith, help out an Arrancar? The enemy? You were sure if Soul Society ever found out what you had done that you would be locked away in the Repentance Cell for your crimes. For some reason, the thought didn’t bother you, though, at least not enough. A glare bore through your skull, a thoughtful glare. You could tell that he knew you were right. Seeing as he hadn’t killed you for your comment, you ventured further, “I can help you. At least until this battle with Aizen is over.“

Grimmjow seemed to seriously be considering the suggestion, or at least not outright refusing. He knew that if he died carelessly while not at his full strength yet, he would never have the chance to defeat Kurosaki. And anyway, maybe it wouldn’t be too bad to have the cute Shinigami in front of him hang around for a little while longer. Not that he would be admitting to that. Yet. “Tch.” He gave the back of his neck a scratch, looking away from the eager eyes watching him for an answer. Grimmjow was stubborn, though. “I don’t need anybody’s damn help.”

You frowned. “Sure looked like you needed my help when you were dying in the sands of Hueco Mundo.” Now you were getting a little brave, but hey, he hadn’t killed you yet. There must have been a reason for that. Grimmjow looked as if he was about to retort back but instead clamped his mouth shut, jaw tight and eyebrows knitted. You got him with that one. “Sounds to me like you’re just looking for excuses to hang around me a little longer,” he tantalized with a smirk, the small blush dusting your cheeks not going unrecognized by the man before you.

“Maybe I am.”

Well, that caught Grimmjow off guard. The semi-surprised look on his face made you snicker. Weird ass Shinigami, for sure. “Do whatever the hell you want,” he replied, cocking his head to the side, eyes regarding you like a wild animal observing his prey. He stuffed his fists into the pockets of his uniform, that signature, cocky grin returning once again. “If you wanna follow me, I’m not gonna stop you. Just don’t get in my way.” The Arrancar made long strides past you and through the bedroom doorway, making his way down the hallways of Las Noches. He was leaving. You watched his retreating figure for a moment before jogging to catch up with him.

“Well, where are we going?”

He glanced back at you, his expression one of boredom, but you could see the glint of titillation in his eyes. The ‘we’ didn’t go unnoticed. “Anywhere but here.” So it was as you thought, he wasn’t that loyal to Aizen. You had to walk at a brisk pace to keep up with Grimmjow’s long legs. Did you really want to turn your back on your Shinigami allies to help this man out? Even if you wanted to, should you? Your steps faltered before you stopped completely, watching Grimmjow continue to walk away, not even giving the slightest look back at you. If you wanted to follow him, good for you, if not, he wasn’t going to be bothered by it. As his figure continued to grow farther away, you wondered, ‘Is this really what I want?’ Your memories of Soul Society and your friends there floated through your mind. Memories of food and laughter and battle. Memories of home. A deep-gutted feeling of heaviness anchored itself to the bottom of your stomach. The steady beat of your heart thrummed in your ears. Was it worth it, leaving everything and everyone you’ve always known behind? For an Arrancar? Grimmjow finally gave a harsh sigh and stopped, turning around and giving you a rather impatient look. Of course he didn’t care if you were coming or not, so why was he waiting for you? “You coming or not?”

“Aw hell,” you mumbled, heart skipping a beat, maybe two. Yeah, you really wanted to follow that stubborn man, even if he ended up leading you to hell and back, you really did want to follow him. The heaviness and uncertainty deep in your gut evaporated in seconds with just one look from those beautiful, blue eyes. With a huff of resignation, you trotted to catch back up to the smug man, rolling your eyes at the cockiness emanating from him as he practically puffed his chest out. “Of course I am. Someone needs to keep you out of trouble.”

Maybe he wouldn’t mind having you by his side, Grimmjow thought. Maybe.

Ray and Allison have a lovely relationship but I finally identified the problem, the tension I was feeling between since them a few eps back. It's not about Allison's secrets at all, is about Ray being so obsessed with his crusade that he completely overlooks Allison's feelings, he only pays attention to her when they are on the page about the mission. He sees her powers and his first thought is 'we could use this for the cause', Allison is clearly distressed and sad and even says she doesn't feel well and all he can think about is the damn JFK meeting. He's not a bad person and he's not doing it on purpose but he has a workaholic one-track mind that could easy turn into neglect for Allison. He clearly loves her and I'm rooting for them so much but I know that if asked to choose between Allison and his cause, he'll pick his cause.

So Five is done with the killing. I figured this might weigh on his conscience, it's one thing to kill for a greater good or survival, coldly and detached, it's another thing to slaughter for selfish reasons (even if his selfish reasons are a greater good).

Unfortunately, I don't see that happening because I think they want to keep this part about Ben.

By end of season 1 Klaus cried that people still didn't take him seriously, his compassion despite all his suffering made him likeable and deep, but this season he's back to being the family joke, I don't like that there's no resolution to that. But let's see where this goes, I'm getting ahead of myself.

Hello. I am the same anon who sent the "Fuck it!" post and honestly, I'm considering being a Clerith only to ease the pain of CloTi (my otp) not being canon. There's so much Clerith fan service nowadays in works such as Möbius that I believe that SE is foreshadowing the confirmation of Clerith in the remake/KH3. I even read essays written by @astoryofalove and (s)he used canonical evidence that are against CloTi. I'm sick of being bullied all the time by Cleriths and I even puked/cried about it!

I'm very sorry for overreacting, but I'm done with the arguments, the hate, and the rage associated with the LTD. I want Cleriths to stop being so rude to others who disagree with them and the same should be said to CloTis. Had SE been less ambiguous about CloTi/Clerith/Zerith, none of this shit would've happened. I want to like Clerith because it is a beautiful ship, but the fandom scares me so much that I began to hate it. Please help me because I don't want to be picked on anymore. 😖

There’s no reason for you to pretend to like something you don’t. If you ever need someone to talk about Cloti, come to the inbox (or send a chat message) and we will get back to you! There’s plenty of Cloti media out there (fanmade and otherwise) for you to enjoy. I say stick to your fandom and don’t get into the debates, because they can get rather ugly sometimes. There’s a reason I have stopped debating. And it’s not because I don’t love Cloti. It’s because I just don’t care anymore. I love Cloti, I think Clerith is cute//ok and I’m happy for my friends that ship it if they get anything. But I pretty much refusse to argue anymore. I will give my two cents and opinion on things, but that’s about all.

Let me ask you this, why are you reading Clerith essays? You should be reading Cloti ones and reminding yourself how great your own ship is. ^^ To me, there’s just as much evidence for one ship as there is the other (when it comes to fanservice). If we’re looking at the original game alone and Advent Children + Dissidia, ofc I believe that Cloti was/is canon. 

However I also know that is just the way *I* interpret things, and that other people interpret it differently. There’s nothing wrong with that or pointing out which parts of the game made you feel that way. I’m sorry if anyone is actually bullying you, thats not cool 2 do.

But I think you really need to relax from debates and reading things that dont pertain to you ;-; Surround yourself with people in your fandom, and ship stuff that actually makes you happy. I’ve been done with the LTD for a long time now. I’ve been arguing about it since 1997 and there’s only so far you can go before you realize that you’re tired. 

I don’t ship Clerith romantically, I probably never will. But I don’t hate seeing it , nor will I be upset if it actually did become canon. I’ll always be rooting for Cloti though, and I will always be happy if SE throws it a bone outside of canon. I was so super stoked when the Cloti event was announced and once again it focused on their promise, one of my favorite aspects about the ship. That didn’t happen too long ago! So I’m sorry if you’re feeling like C/T stuff is nonexistent lately... but I really don’t think that’s the case. c:

Like I said before , if you need an ear or a reminder on why Cloti is great, the CT fandom is pretty open and willing! Just ask any of us tbh, im sure there’s plenty willing to remind you why it’s a great ship. And plenty of people that will make you feel happy in the ship.

It’s exceedingly easy to ignore other shippers. Just don’t give bullies the time of day, and stay away from the LTD if it’s too stressful for you. There are also many friendly people in the Clerith fandom too. As a multishipper and someone with friends in both ships, I can say that honestly. So if you’re really interested in Clerith because it appeals to you, you’ll be accepted for sure. It’s about respect really, and as long as you’re being respectful to each ship that you like Im sure things can be fine.

I too would love for the arguments to stop, but thats unrealistic! The FFVII fandom is kind of up there with the Bleach//Naruto fandoms when it comes to shipping wars. People can get personal... It can cause hurt feelings and spite. If more people just stepped down and apologized and agreed that their own views were acceptable things would be a lot nicer! But for big fandoms like these, some people will just not change.

Anyways, if you need a friend in fandom like I said before there are plenty of shippers who are nice, willing to talk about their ship, and will encourage and be there for you. This blog will definitely count as one for Cloti. ^^ So I hope you cheer up and feel better! Please join us for future Cloti events and remake in the future. Don’t be sad!!

I’d say that I had trouble with Jin in the beginning. He’s very broad shouldered, one of the tallest members, and his lips--they are quite plump and beautiful. He has a very model-ish type of face, y’know? His band members always rank him as the #1 most handsome and he is very prideful of his appearance! He also has a very squeaky laugh and LOVES to make dad jokes, like, 24/7. It makes the other members laugh and hate him at the same time.

Yoongi

Here’s how he looks right now:

He went back to black hair (finally!) but I think his hair has been dyed the most, out of all the members, in the past. So you might see pictures of him with mint green hair, pink hair, bleach blonde hair... but he got tired of it/was afraid of hair loss so now he’s back to black which I rly rly rly love omg

the way to tell him apart? He’s one of the smallest members. I think the 2nd tiniest in terms of height. He is paler than the others, has triangle shaped eyes, and is usually calmer/has a deadpan expression. But on the inside he’s a huge softy who loves his boys more than anything :(

I’m restraining myself from screaming about how much I ADORE this boy bc as mentioned earlier, he’s my bias whom I would gladly die for BUT ANYWAY what helped me in the beginning was that, 1) he’s usually the loudest one in videos, 2) almost always smiling, 3) his high cheekbones, 4) DIMPLES. I used to confuse him with Jungkook in the beginning but now he is my baby boy!!! My sweet prince!!!! My actual son!!! I mean fuck, this boy is really fucking handsome--they all are, but Tae never fails to Kill me softly

the good thing about him is that his hairstyle doesn’t usually change. He might dye it, but it’s usually in the same style (flat and covering his forehead) so you can pick him out a little easier. Like Hoseok, he has cute moles on his face, his eyes are wider/sorta large, and he has big (pierced) ears.

Finally, the maknae...

I honestly don’t know how I can explain his features but he has pierced ears like Tae, so both of them usually wear earings, and his smile is absolutely precious. He’s the youngest so maybe you think he looks the youngest? He’s also usually the one dancing in front in a lot of music videos, so like, he tends to get the most camera time.

Jungkook (left) and Tae (right) -- they look a little similar, but Jungkook has eyebags while Tae doesn’t. Tae is also more slender, while Jungkook has a bit more muscle.
