Continuing a trend of “Need a tool, make a tool”, one of the Mugen Forge grinders is out of service due to part issues. The grinders are too old to get replacement parts, and we can’t simply buy a new grinder. The solution was to design and manufacture a replacement part using better design. Here we are using one 3D printer to produce a replacement grinding wheel for a 4” x 36” grinder that will utilize sealed ball bearings instead of solid brass. Quiet, cool, long lasting, and available. We also decided to try our hand and vacuum forming for the production of knife sheaths.
