ini members as your bf
pairing: ot10 x fem!reader
genre: fluff
tags: bf!ini, established relationship
author’s note: this was requested by an anon! sorry for taking so long and i hope this is what you wanted. this is my first ini request so as always, enjoy :D
hiroto
nishi loves to spoil you by taking you shopping like every week.
he loves to let you watch him while he writes some of ini’s songs and smiles at you from time to time. you watch him in awe because he seemed so focused.
his humour has you literally clutching your stomach in fear you’ll literally run out of breath.
misses you ever second of the day.
“when are you coming back..i already miss you.” “i just left, nishi”
kyosuke
he loves to cuddle with you in bed most of the time. when you call him ‘kyo’ or ‘maki’ he’ll let you do anything just to hear you call him that again.
kisses are a must, he loves when you steal kisses from him randomly.
kyo’s favourite time is when you’re sleeping soundly against him while he strokes your hair until he falls asleep too.
his favourite thing is to sing to you, love songs are his go-to so you can feel just how much you mean to him.
jin
you’re the quieter one in the relationship, he’s so chaotic and you love that about him.
mj usually thinks he’s being annoying yet you reassure him that his loudness is your favourite thing about him.
you took him to an amusement park once and now he constantly asks if you want to go again because it was so fun.
his favourite thing about you is that you’re a really good listener, you listen to him rant about things so patiently and still don’t get tired.
masaya
“can you come over to practice?”
you always come and surprise him and his members with their favourite food.
most of the time you watch him dance quietly, and he usually shows off and dances his best to make sure your eyes are on him.
“ini’s leader never disappoints.” “of course, baby.”
leader duties are usually burdensome but you always try to lighten his mood. he feels that when he’s with you, he can finally relax and take a break.
shogo
your lovesick boyfriend taji who wakes up earlier than you due to his demanding idol schedule and smiles while he admires your sleeping figure.
taji thinks you’re his baby whether you’re older or not he will, and loves you openly. he treats you like you’re the only girl on earth.
whenever he sees you with someone else he doesn’t really say anything until you get home and he clings onto you.
you have to reassure him that he’s the only one you want. when he has off days, he comes home to spend it with you all day.
fengfan
he’s always ready to talk to you whether he’s busy or not. fen will make time for you for any reason. you’re his favourite person on earth and he wouldn’t trade you for anything.
cuddles with you in bed just because he can and wants to feel your warmth.
your bf fengfan who recalls the day you both met with anyone you come across.
love has never felt more real when you’re with him. takes care of you and treats you amazingly.
takumi
your bf takumi who’s a good observer and notices when you’re being quiet. he always asks what’s bothering you and doesn’t force you to open up about anything.
takumi is such a sweetheart and loves to take off-guard photos of you doing literally anything.
he always carries a camera with him or uses his phone, only to soft launch you on twitter next.
he plans little picnic dates that you both are always excited about.
yudai
you’ll receive kisses every single hour of every single day. he loves when you shower him with pecks too.
you know that trend where you wear lipstick and kiss someone all over their face? yeah he did that with you and showed it to all his members.
yudai who always has a smile on his face when he sees you do anything he finds cute.
“can i have a kiss before i go?” “yudai!” and he will not leave until he gets a goodbye kiss.
takeru
takechi is a prince in training, so he treats you like a princess by saying words of affirmation all the time.
he always forces you to watch movies with him, especially horror so he can feel you scoot closer to him, even though takeru himself is a little scared too.
but he’ll never tell you that so you can continue to do it with him.
he spoils you rotten by buying you expensive things (because that’s what a prince does) and doesn’t want anything back because he loves seeing you happy.
rihito
every morning he makes sure to wake you up with his deep voice. but of course you love it!
“good morning, baby.” “you scared me, rihito!”
his members tease him about being so down bad for you and even admits it.
rihito’s love language is physical touch so he always is seen hugging you, or even just holding your hand. (he’s so adorable)
he can’t ever leave you alone and is always by your side. loves going on random walks with you and to match outfits when you’re going on dates.

HELLO !!! could i request for anne , kanata , kei & shogo w/ gn reader whos an artist that often comes to them for references and has them as a muse hhhh im so ill . Thank you in advance 🫧
Anne Faulkner:
Anne is very flattered that they’re your muse. They thought you might just be teasing them at first, or trying to butter them up, but your sincerity shined through and made them feel giddy. They’ll do any pose you need them to or wear any outfit you bring to them, excited to try out new things. They think it’s a little embarrassing being watched so intently at first but they enjoyed having your full attention, especially when you paid for their hard work with kisses of gratitude.
Kanata Yatonokami:
Kanata thinks you’re making fun of him at first, asking what you’re talking about with him being your muse. He’s embarrassed that you have sudden inspiration just by looking at or talking to him but you tell him its not a bad think, art is born of love in the end. He tells you to just not tell him about it or else he’ll overthink it, wondering if he inspired you that day or if he had failed to spark that creative flare you expected of him.
Kei Miyama:
Kei knows the purpose of a muse but couldn’t fathom how he was yours. He doesn’t want you to think he’s not flattered or that it doesn’t fill him with an indescribable joy to know the positive regard you held him in. He just didn’t know how to respond to such honesty, admitting with a gentle smile that he was hoping to continue inspiring you for years to come.
Shogo Yamato:
Shogo is a little awkward when you’re trying to use him as reference, but his mild discomfort does make for a more ‘human’ touch to your art. He is a pretty idol, after all, so how could you not feel inspired just looking at his face? The pink hue in his cheeks is perfect and you tell him as much, loving the lovely red they turn after the suggestion. He truly was a piece of art.

[Eng Subs DL] Paranoia Circus
Happy Halloween! I come to offer you subs for a stage that I think fit the atmosphere and vibe of Halloween~ I was originally requested by @/matches_ma (on Twitter) to make the subs a good few months ago, and I meant to post them, but I got occupied by so many things that it was left in my drafts for a while. I figured now is a good a time as any to free it from my drafts prison!
I wouldn't go as far as to call it "trippy" or "campy" but some characters and scenes do give off a similar vibe~ It seems a bit confusing at first, but trust me, the story really builds and every little thing connects and makes sense at the end. It is funny, whimsical, and bittersweet. Not to mention, the actors and actresses were really wonderful in it~ Oh! It also references a lot of Edogawa Ranpo's works, so some characters and scenes reference titles and iconic moments from said books/short stories ^^
Official Links: Website | DVD Purchase Link
Notes, disclaimers, and link under the cut, enjoy~!
NOTES:
※ THE FILE IS SUBTITLES ONLY, VIDEO IS NOT INCLUDED!
RULES:
[MOST IMPORTANT] Please DO NOT re-post the subs and the link outside of Tumblr! If you want to share outside, please, please DM me about it and link my blog to your post. That’s all I ask.
Please DO NOT remove my credits.
Please DO NOT re-translate without permission.
SUBS DL LINK: GOOGLE DRIVE
※ Please only DM me if there is a problem with the subtitles. I cannot help you if it’s related to the videos. ※ If you enjoyed my work, please consider buying me a coffee here, if you can. It’ll really help me out a lot.(o^▽^o) Thank you!!
#paranoia circus#my subs#my translations#i have been obsessed with this show since i first watched it years ago#it has a sort of whimsy that's just addicting~#suzuki shogo was such a delight in it LMAO#also i didn't know matsuda gaku was in it at first#imagine my surprise when i recognized him after watching tsukista XD

Pairing: Makishima Shogo x fem!reader
Warnings and tags: 18+, smut (vaginal sex), very mild knifeplay (razorplay) and a veiled threat, mention of past minor character death, post-season 1 with canon divergence, twisted and fluffy feelings
Words: just a bit over 1,300
Your eyes fluttered open to the pitter-patter of the raindrops, and your hazy vision focused on the view behind the opened windows. From a distance, the temple complex stood tall and proud in the pouring rain, showing off its magnificent and everlasting architecture. The bittersweet and earthy scent of agarwood wafted through the air of your house within walls of woven bamboo, and you took a deep breath to bask in the grounding scent.
"Is it quite unusual for you to be already awake at this hour," Makishima noted in a honeyed voice with just a hint of grogginess. "Did the rainfall wake you up, or are you feeling troubled about something?"
The sheets around your lower body rustled away as you turned around to lie on your side, and his amber eyes glinted with curiosity as your gaze found his. His silver-white hair framed his seraphic features, and at the crack of dawn, he looked more like an otherworldly being than the abettor you knew him to be.
"The rain woke me up," you said softly, tentatively placing the tip of your fingers over his collarbone. You unconsciously began stroking the tips of his long locks, and amusement swirled in his eyes as you did. While he prided himself on having almost no desire for attention, he had to admit that he had grown rather fond of the reverence of your touch. "I don't mind, though. I enjoy this kind of weather."
He raised his chin in acknowledgment of your words. "Yes, it seems that you do," he mused. "It does make you dream, doesn't it? You do always get a faraway look in your eyes anytime it starts to pour."
Shogo moved with feline agility and caged you under his willowy, powerful body. He rested his forearms on each side of your face, and your heart thudded as his golden eyes bore into yours and the silver-white tips of his hair fringe tickled your forehead.
As you gazed at him with your mouth slightly agape, he slipped a hand under the pillow and pushed his slender hips against yours. You gasped at the feeling of his arousal pressing between your legs, and a shudder went through your body as he pointed the sharp edge of his razor against your neck. You arched your hips, and a wicked smirk appeared on his lips as he felt the wetness of your sex gliding over his cock.
"Makishima," you breathed, your demureness long forgotten as you wrapped your legs around his waist, urging his body closer to yours. "I want to feel you."
He raised an eyebrow. "You're being quite ravenous and demanding right now," he said, a hint of mockery in his tone. "What brought this on?"
"I just want to feel you, Shogo," you said in a throaty voice. "Don't you want that?"
His face hovered just above yours. "My razor is caressing your skin, and my body is enveloping yours," he said, brushing his nose against yours. "Yet it is not enough for you, isn't it?"
"I guess it isn't," you whispered, placing one of your hands over his, which held the cutting edge against your throat. "I need you inside me."
His cock twitched at your words, and the corners of your lips curled in a coy smirk. Makishima scowled at your teasing, and his eyes flashed with a warning. His name left your lips, and the eerie tone sent a delightful shiver through you.
A pause filled with deep breaths, and then—
"Do you remember how I killed Funahara Yuki?" He asked you with a sinister murmur, and goosebumps rose on your skin. "She had been almost as bare and helpless as you are right now."
You gazed into his eyes. "Am I, though?" Your low voice was almost a purr, and you brought your hands to his face, cupping his cheeks. The contrast between your tender act and his razor on your throat captivated Makishima, who found himself mesmerized. "How much value do you think my soul has?"
There was no mistaking the surprise flashing in his eyes, and he silently gazed at you for a good minute or so while your heart raced in anticipation. He retracted the blade against your throat to place it on the bedside table, and his gaze lingered on it for a few seconds before returning to your face.
"You do not live your life like Sibyl wishes you to," Makishima said at last, and the solemnity of his tone didn't go unnoticed by you, "and that means your soul has value."
Those words were as close to a confession of sentiment as a man like him would ever make, and your hold on his cheeks faltered as the emotions had your body slightly trembling under his.
You were pliant for Shogo to do as he pleased, and he slowly pushed his cock inside you. A languid moan left your lips as you adjusted to his size, and he rested on his elbows with his forearms on each side of your head. His thrusts were deep and sensual, and heat spread under your skin as he angled his hips and hit that special spot inside you. Your back arched, and you let out breathy moans as he kept plunging against the same spot—until your breath hitched and your walls fluttered around his cock. His hips stuttered as you pulsed around him, and his breathing turned shaky as his gut tightened. He pressed his forehead against yours while you still panted from your orgasm, and he gave one last powerful thrust before spilling his seed inside you.
Makishima breathed heavily as his softening cock was nestled inside you and his body was flush against yours. You brought your hands to his hair and ran your fingers through it, concentrating on the tufts near the nape of his neck. He peered at you through his lashes and saw that your vision was out of focus before concentrating on the color of your iris, the slope of your nose, and the shape of your lips.
"What do you suppose is the most intimate exercise of free will an individual living in our society could make?"
His words pulled you out of your reverie, and you anchored your attention on his eyes. Despite the deceptively neutral expression crossing his face, you recognized glimpses of his spirit of inquiry in the intensity of his gaze.
"The most intimate?" You echoed him, briefly pausing as you gathered your thoughts. "I think it might be entrusting a part of yourself to a person whose soul you value—as a sign of your faith in them and in the bond you share."
He hummed at your words, and his eyes gleamed with a knowing glint. In the background, the sky had cleared, and the clouds had left the scene to the purple and orange hues of the sunrise. He languorously slipped out of you, and you bit back a small moan at the mild stimulation.
His movements were stealthy as he got out of bed and neared the open windows with only a thin cotton sheet wrapped around his waist. You stretched your muscles and loafed on the bed, then looked towards his sinewy back while he gazed at the scenery, seemingly lost in thought.
You stood up from the bed with the sheets draped around your frame and leisurely walked to his position. You stopped next to his figure, and he glanced sideways. His amber eyes caught a glimpse of your face as you admired the first flush of the morning over the horizon, and he regarded you quietly before moving to stand behind you.
Makishima encircled your waist with his right arm and rested his chin on the crown of your head. His left hand went to your neck, gently wrapping itself around your throat. It was rare for him to embrace you in such a way outside the throes of passion, and you heaved a sigh as you closed your eyes, surrounding yourself in his hold and savoring the sensation of his body against yours.

Idk if you’ve been asked this before, but like how do you feel abt Aki’s english dub voice? If not, who would you recast? (personally I hate it, I feel like it would a lot more raspy and youthful. He isn’t that old T-T)
the dub is okay, to be honest I hated it in the beginning but over time it's kind of grown on me, like it doesn't sound right but I get a bit of ironic enjoyment out of how silly everything sounds if that makes sense 😭😭😭 I think aki's voice is a bit too mature... he sounds like he's 20 pushing 45
honestly the whole chainsaw man dub is ridiculous, I don't know to feel about it but whenever I watch it I always end up bursting out laughing at least once per episode because of the ridiculous line delivery and dialogue changes lol
#if you wanna watch something stupid watch the chainsaw man dub#there's some really hilarious scenes#it's actually so stupid#I was really hoping the dub would be good because when I was reading the csm manga#a lot of characters it was difficult to imagine them speaking japanese#like characters with unique manners of speaking like denji and power#if those characters were translated well into the dub#the dub could have been the best way to watch csm for english speakers#but instead..... we got............. yeah#I don't know much about dub voice actors so I'm not sure who I'd recast as aki.....#I'll think about it...#and nothing could ever come close to shogo sakata..... so....#his voice is the best for aki#it just is aki#ask mags

𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 ∣ day twenty-three [ shogo makishima + choking ]
“Look at me when I’m speaking to you.” his voice is low, and unnervingly soft, but damned if it isn’t effective. when he croons to you, his baritone like a siren song, you’re certain to do whatever he wishes. “You’re being very rude.” like now, when your hues flicker upwards. you wished you could find a spot on his forehead, or right between his eyes, to focus on so you wouldn’t be locked into those deadly, golden gems. it’s a hopeless feat, however, because you’re drawn to them, almost if his eyes are magnetized.
and he’s smug once you’re locked in, the heat of his breath on your bottom lip as his couplet hovers just an inch or so from yours, parted etched into a victorious grin. “There she is, the soft and obedient little lamb that I expected you to be.”
and his first two fingers push deeper into you, your thighs clamping around his wrist when they curl, as if beckoning the sensation out of you. you whimper, biting on your lip to repress the sound, loathing how completely unlike you it sounds. so weak. so needy. but his fingers fit so deliciously inside of you. your hips are shameless as they jut forwards, pushing your lower half off the wall to grind against his pumping digits.
“You love this, don’t you?” he whispers, pressing his forehead to yours, “How snug my fingers are in that cunt? You feel so euphoric, I can tell by the twinkle in your eyes, and you can’t possibly imagine how this feeling could get better.”
you hated that he was right, but his wrist flicked, as graceful as a cat, and his fingers massage your interior nerves until you’re all but melting butter in his palm. you didn’t have to answer, he can read you like an open book.
“But, I can give that to you.” he murmurs, his soft, addictive couplet ghosting over yours. it takes everything in your power not to angle your face upwards and capture the tiers in a fierce kiss that you know wouldn’t satiate your hunger for him. “I can show you a nirvana your minimal daydreams have never even breached.”
because your want for Shogo was not an ember that could be snuffed out— your desire for him was a raging wildfire that left naught but chaos and torment in its wake within you.
of course, you would never tell him that, but he already knew.
“Do you want me to make you come undone?”
you shake your head, but keep your tiers tightly sealed— fearful that your mouth would betray you and favor the skillful fingers delving inside you, and you would beg him for a release. your hue was already tainted— you knew it was wrong to want a man so carnally, especially a killer like Shogo Makishima, but you couldn’t stop the depravity before it sank deep within you. it also didn’t help that he enjoyed tempting you so.
his eyes are nearly blinding, coruscating as he searches yours, and you know he can see right through the lie, but he’s still smiling. his free hand flees to grip your face, the pad of his thumb dragging along your lower lip. “I was asking as a courtesy, not because I need your permission. You know that, don’t you?” when he squeezes his fingers into your face, hollowing your cheeks, the act forces your lips to purse outwards, and they’re met with his pair crashing into them, devouring them. Shogo’s kiss is so overwhelming that you’re almost swept away, lost at sea within the embrace, and you nearly don’t feel a third finger join the other two, until he twists them, stretching you, and you whine against his lips.
he only chuckles, his hand holding your face steady, “Mm, I know. I know it must be a lot for you to take, but it feels good, doesn’t it? Stretching around my fingers like you’re made of elastic?”
“No—“ but it’s a sultry moan and your eyes flutter. your hips stutter as your body defies your mouth and rubs into his palm, wanting— no, needing more.
he chortles, shaking his head. “Your mouth says one thing, but your body tells me another. You’re giving yourself away, darling.” whilst he speaks, he smears the remnants of his sloppy, forceful kiss over your quivering lips and you can feel his fingers tight on your jaw.
then, only for what had to be a fraction of a second, a thought overtakes your mind. it’s quick, the visage of his hand dropping to grasp your throat instead of your face, and how much you’d enjoy that, and then you force it away from the forefront. but it’s much too late. an expression all too telling paints itself against his flawless countenance— the visage of a god possessed by power and victorious in his conquest of your fragile mentality.
“You are quite the demented, little thing, aren’t you? How badly you yearn to feel my hand on your throat— you know I would crush it, no problem whatsoever, don’t you? And that only has you wetter.”
humiliated with your face on fire, you attempt to turn away, but his fingers dig too fiercely into the vulnerable flesh of your cheeks, and you whine. you want to say no, to shake your head until your neck is sore, but you knew that your body was the traitor. no matter how much you lied to him, told him you weren’t enjoying it, he could feel your desire from the inside.
“I could make you tell me the truth if I wanted, I could finger fuck the pleases and thank yous right out of you.” he chuckles, before the hand upon your face careens downwards to clench a fist around your throat— your breath catches just beneath his palm, and your pulse pounds like a drum under the pad of his thumb, “and it’s not hard to see through your pathetic excuse for a facade, but it is exhilarating to watch you try and fool yourself into thinking this isn’t what you want.” his lips ghost over yours when he whispers, soft and daunting, and you’re hyper aware of the subtle flick of a devious tongue at the seam of your tiers; they part obediently and you exhale a shaky breath on to his face, much to your own dismay. “So, you keep telling me that you don’t love this—“ the pressure on your neck increases, constricting the air flow, and the rhythm between your thighs follows the trend; deep, slow thrusts picking up speed, yet sparing no intensity, until your eyes are rolling back, “and I’ll keep fucking your soft, warm cunt until you’ve nothing left in your fragile, little body to lie. Not an inkling of power, only submission for me.”

Wind Breaker Episode 13 Review + Final Thoughts - Second Season Announced For 2025!
With the way this episode ended, there’s definitely no way they wouldn’t announce a season 2 and they did—it’ll come out in 2025! It’s to be expected because this was one of Spring 2024’s biggest hits. I certainly enjoyed this and it’s high up on my midyear anime list that I’ll be posting next week!
Meeting with the Four Kings of Bofurin is going to help Sakura open up a lot more, even though he’s still taking baby steps. The Four Kings have such cool designs. We all know Hiiragi, but there’s also Tsubakino (he’s male), Mizuki and Momose who are very cool on their own! None of them speak, unfortunately. The purpose of the meeting with the Kings and the Grade Captains to let them know that they will always have people supporting them so it’s fine to let them rely on their senpais. Umemiya always knows how to ease someone’s spirits!
Sakura’s taking baby steps as leader of his class! He actually decides to take on Anzai’s matters into his own hands and the rest of the class tags along too because they’re a team. It’s so nice to see Sakura, who was super distrustful, slowly grow into someone who can be relied on! I really liked the scene with him talking with Anzai’s childhood friend Tsuchiya. He normally doesn’t try to start a conversation towards others, so for him to initiate talk is such a novel but welcome feeling! I even liked how Sakura was thinking about Kotoha’s advice on leaving the matter to him. If you look at Sakura at the beginning to the finale of the first season, there’s some solid growth there.
Anzai may be a bit of an obscure classmate in Sakura’s class, but It’s obvious that, while he’s a nice guy, he’s trying too much to take things by himself. He’s also a bad liar to the point that the gullible Sakura can see right through him.You know you’re a terrible liar when Sakura knows you’re lying. His story with Nagato was really sad. It’d break my heart if I learned my childhood friend was hanging out with the wrong crowd. I hope that things can patch up between him and Nagato once Furin goes to beat Keel’s ass. This might be a bit of rambling, but I just learned that his voice actor is Shogo Sakata, who’s known for voicing Aki Hayakawa from Chainsaw Man. I didn’t know he can produce such a childish voice.
Speaking of Keel, the gang is so creepy. Even when I was reading the manga, they gave me cult-like vibes. The member that Sakura meets on patrol is voiced by Junya Enoki. I’m as shocked as you are! I always familiarize Enoki with heroic roles like Totomaru Isshiki from Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective that it’s sort of hard to imagine him as a villain, but he’s here in Wind Breaker as a villain. This will seriously be a treat to watch because this is probably one of the rare times he’ll voice a villain and I can’t wait to hear it! Rambling aside, Keel is very cult-like because they have such a terrible method of discipling their members. If someone failed to do something, they get hit. It’s seriously awful. I do wonder how Nagato got entangled in all of this.
Even in the finale, the animation still is amazing. The way Anzai was fighting off Keel members and even the part where he was catching the purse thief, who turned out to be Nagato, were so good. My favorite part was when Sakura was chasing after Anzai and the camera pans to him going down the stairs and then jumps down to cut him off. Cloverworks really likes showing off why they’re so good with animation.
I seriously cannot wait for next year. It’s crazy how Wind Breaker is getting a second season already! If you’re curious about what happens next and want to read about, please start from Chapter 42, which is the beginning of Volume 6! Season 1 covered the first 5 volumes! I wonder how many volumes the next season will cover. What are your thoughts on the finale?
Final Thoughts
To be very honest, Wind Breaker was one of those animes that I wanted to watch primarily because of the stellar voice cast and that I had a very sour experience watching Bucchigiri, which was also about gang fighting. However, it slowly became one of the most exciting anime watching experiences I had. It’s because of Wind Breaker that I got a lot more online friends! It’s always nice to meet new people who watch the same things as you! While the anime is fun, I think what I gained these past three months feels as precious. Seriously, it’s such an amazing feeling.
Wind Breaker may be a straightforward story about gang fights and action, but the writing is a lot more heartwarming than you expect. It’s more about seeing the characters, specifically the MC Sakura, learn and grow. We learn why Sakura is the way he is and how being around people is beneficial for him. The concept of him going to a delinquent high school, but it’s also a place where the delinquents also have double duty as police officers of sorts. I also love that the fighting is just pure action and not crazy magic stuff. I love that it’s a little different from the usual delinquent stories in that it focuses more on characters and not fighting all the time.
The characters are the highlight of the show. Each of them have their own unique design and personality. It’s just so nice to see how well they mesh together. Not only does Furin have intricate designs, but Shishitoren does too! My favorite part of the characters is learning that their names have a theme! Bofurin characters’ names all revolve around plants. Shishitoren’s names revolve around animals. I can tell the author took so much time and effort to name these characters. As a writer myself, naming characters is both the funnest and the most tiresome aspect of the writing process.
Cloverworks did an amazing job with the anime adaptation. From the memorable first episode where Sakura goes all out against a gang by himself to animating the Shishitoren fights were so great. Though, my favorite part of the animation was seeing the studio elevate some of the characters’ backstories. I really loved how they animated Togame and Choji’s backstory! Togame got a backstory extension and Choji had such quality detail in his! Let’s just hope they keep that quality next season and not turn it into a mess like The Promised Neverland Season 2. Don’t f*** this up, please. The music was also really nice! The OP and ED songs were catchy and the OST were good! I especially loved the song Stronger! I love how there’s a piano remix of it too whenever something emotional happens.
The voice actors are seriously amazing. They legit casted extremely star-studded voice actors for this anime. We’ve got Yuma Uchida as Sakura, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Suo, Koki Uchiyama as Sugishita, and even Yuichi Nakamura as Umemiya. Look at those names! Shishitoren got some big names too like Yuichiro Umehara as Togame and Chiaki Kobayashi as Sako. If they’re going all out for this season, I can’t wait to see who’d they cast for the Keel characters because having Junya Enoki as one of the members is INSANE!
Like I said before, if you want to start reading the manga, start from Chapter 42 because Episode 13 ends on Chapter 41. I hope that you all had a wonderful experience with this manga! I hope that energy returns next year!

Character Inspiration
I was tagged by @justasmolbard and another one of my moots that I don’t remember rn I’m sorry 😭
Game Taglist: (I know I’m doing this pretty late so forgive me for any double tags) @elderglocks @voidika @cloudofbutterflies92 @vivilovespink @captastra
@sinclxirx @isacoremeow @inafieldofdaisies @strangefable @bihanspookies
@cassietrn @carlosoliveiraa @simonxriley @confidentandgood @takiisieju-moved
@thedeadthree @icecutioner @imogenkol @scentedcandleibex
Thomas Shelby - Peaky Blinders: He’s a huge inspiration for her personality AND body language. He’s an intelligent leader, basically an introvert with social skills. He’s also outspoken and straightforward. AND I thought it’d be cool if Ombra had a signature overcoat like him. Plus, I imagine she has a monotonous tone just like him.
Lady Esdeath - Akame ga kill: Another intelligent leader. She’s also a dominant lady in every way. She’s stubborn and determined. She’s a huge inspiration for Ombra’s powers and fighting style, even though she has ice powers.
Amy Dunne - Gone Girl: She’s a calculated psychopath who observes and reads people like open books. She has no remorse for what she’s doing. She manipulates people with a nonchalant demeanor. AND she has no empathy when it comes to what she wants.
Eren Yeager - Attack on Titan: He’s mainly an inspiration for Ombra’s motivation. He wanted revenge and stayed determined for that for years. And in the end, he took things too far. That’s what Ombra’s wrath look like.
Hannibal Lecter - Hannibal: Mad psychiatrist. That’s it.
Magneto - X-men: An inspiration for Ombra’s powers. Remember that scene in Apocalypse in which he placed his palm on the ground and messed with the Earth’s magnetic field? Yup, that’s totally Ombra.
Bonus:
Silco - Arcane:
I imagine Ombra’s personality gradually becomes similar to his as we get to the end of the story. Do you see the exhaustion? Yup, that’s what I’m talking about.
Falkus’s analysis is under the read more.
Joker - Joker: Falkus wears the mask of a friendly and cheerful man, but beneath that he’s just a broken god. I also imagine that he has the same hysteric laughs.
Jinx - Arcane: Immature and chaotic. The way she talked to her guns and hallucinations? Haha that’s him.
Makshima Shogo - Psycho-pass: Chaotic psychopath. He has no remorse and no empathy for others. Stubborn when it comes to his goals. He’s also quite strong.
Maria Grayson - I Care a Lot: Manipulative, and pretends like she CARES and has sympathy while all she’s doing is for her own benefit.
Willy Wonka - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Creepy and random, and sometimes comes across as dry. Falkus gives dry responses sometimes, meaning he failes at hiding his true self a little.

Appreciating the KnY Noh Production: Part 1 of 3
Humans are demons, demons are humans. Weave their eternal feelings, and dance.
...or so goes my very basic translation of the tagline of the Kimetsu no Yaiba Noh/Kyogen production, "人も鬼、鬼も人 不滅の思いを紡ぎ、舞う" which could arguably be translated in other ways like "humans and demons" or "inextinguishable thoughts" or you could rid of the comma. I wanted to keep the translation more aligned with how people might be familiar with Ubuyashiki's words, while also capturing the spiritual element behind dances in Noh, but there is no such things as perfectly translating something's form, especially if you're trying to keep it beautiful. It's wiser to translate in spirit.
That, I feel, came through in adapting a hit manga like Kimetsu no Yaiba into one of Japan's most high-culture theater traditions.
(Source and interview with Ohtsuki here)
As much as I love going to any silly, gimicky KnY event, I admit that my appreciation for this one partly stems from my (overly?) deep appreciation for the original Gotouge creation, as well as from previous study of Noh basics (not to mention understanding Japanese). That means that in order for me to be a simple fangirl about it, I'm going to have to explain a bit of Noh background, at least as far as it relates to Kimetsu no Yaiba. My scene-by-scene fangirling will come in the following two parts, so enjoy the nerdery for now.
This post is going to serve as background information for the sake of pointing out the things I appreciated about this production. It's not going to be a full intro to Noh, because that would be a silly goal when all I want to do is gush. However! My blog has also become a window into Japanese culture for many readers and I am happy to pull you by the wrists to fall through the window with me. As such, I'm referring you to the-Noh.com for English language overviews about the background, meaning, and basic details of Noh, as well as more and more to read about if you find yourself inclined.
For our purposes here, Noh has its roots in humorous Kyogen plays (and the two are often linked), it has a sparse approach to the stage and props, but each element serves a practical and/or symbolic meaning.
Knowing this visual language helps in appreciating the story. For example, knowing which role each character plays based on which part of the stage they stay closest to, or what kind of being they are based on what prop they carry (spoiling this for you right now, I've always loved the tiny demon mallet, it's so non-threatening like the oni is going around bopping people on the head with it). And of course, Noh masks are iconic and prolific, something which can also be said of the KnY universe. Let's Ask Shogo has an enlightening video about Noh masks, and it's a good starting point for appreciating Noh. Another example I'll refer to a lot is the hashigakari, a bridgeway to the left of the main stage where actors make their entrances and exits. This is often treated as a gateway between worlds, and since spirits letting go of their attachments and moving on is a common theme, exiting down this bridgeway implies implies that. As you can imagine, a play with ghosts and demons like KnY makes use of that.
(Source and more about Noh stage design here)
That brings us to the themes... When I first heard about this play, I was struck by how well the themes of KnY line up with Noh, and that's a big reason this project became a reality in the first place--people in the Noh world sure noticed too. I'm probably going to come back to the theme of "demon/ghost/whatever being with a sad past moves on" over and over so I'm leaving this here for now, but that takes us into a couple of the most important character roles: Shite: The main character, the one often going through some sort of spiritually transformative experience
Waki: The side character, who often helps the shite attain that spiritually transformative experience, often simply by listening and bearing witness to it
That created a challenge for the KnY production. Tanjiro is the shite, as he is the focal character, but he plays more of a waki role in the arcs of other characters.
There are also Kyogen characters, who often appear for the sake of comical relief. It's not uncommon for them to have dialogue together, as in the case of the Kasugai crows & sparrow drinking and complaining about their jobs, or to monologue to the audience, as Haganezuka did since he had a captive audience to hear him talk about how swords are made. These are some of the best opportunities to play with the onomatopoeic aspects of Kyogen scripts, often the word play is simply fun and rhythmic to listen to, compared to the chanting and (somewhat dis-harmonic) accompanying chorus and flutes and drums during the Noh drama. There are different structural functions of Kyogen when used in combination with Noh.
That brings us to structure. There are different kinds of Noh plays depending on their subject matter, but sometimes you get a whole menu of plays all at once, like going to a fancy Kaiseki restaurant that hits certain basics while showing you a multi-course meal of different cooking techniques. In Noh, this menu of plays watched in sequence is a Gobandate, five kinds of plays which can take all day to perform one after another. On special occasions like New Years, there's a special sixth elemental to start it all off on a spiritual high note.
*Special Occasions only!* Okina: Also called "Noh which is not Noh," this is like a ritualistic dance that is often associated with gods or other holy characters, sort of like a blessing over the whole event taking place on the stage that day
Waki-Noh: Kind of like an accompaniment to the implied shite character of the previous Okina, if there was one. Regardless, probably some focus on otherworldliness. Shura-Noh: Great tales of warriors, yay, always a safe bet for the stage
Katsura-Noh: Some story about a woman. Often a woman who is suffering, or in love. Or both! Women's stories in Noh are not limited to this category, as you can guess from below.
Zatsu-Noh: Kind of a catch-all category for stories that don't fit in other categories, a common theme is some kind of obsession or chaos.
Kiri-Noh: To finish with a bang, a play about a demon or other otherworldly thing.
In all of these, you'll find other structures of Noh story-telling, like the chanters telling you a lot of what's going on (like the narration in the early volumes of KnY, I felt!), or characters recounting their own story to a listener instead of acting it out in real time. That makes it perfectly plausible for a demon to get their head cut off, and then monologue about their sob story. This performance was formally structured as follows, at least in the first draft of the script, which saw a lot of changes by the time it hit the stage. It had to take a few liberties to fit around a story with a shite who acts like a waki, as well as presenting a Gobandate structure in the span of two hours. Okina: Hinokami (yes, perfect choice)
Waki-Noh: Sagiridoushi (the children of Sagiri, aka our favorite fox-mask wearing children)
Shura-Noh: Fujikasaneyama (Mt. Fujikasane)
Kyogen (Interlude 1): Katanakaji (Swordsmith)
Katsura-Noh: Shirayuki ("White Snow," the theme chosen for Nezuko's part, which I had so many feelings about)
Kyogen (Interlude 2): Kasugaigarasu (Kasugai Crows + Sparrow)
Zatsu-Noh: Kimi ga Tame (I'll explain the cleverness of this title later, but this was where Zenitsu & Inosuke, our favorite elements of chaos got to fit in)
Kiri-Noh: Rui
Or at least, that was the original idea. Some parts of the drafted script stayed pretty close, but other changed significantly based on run-time, overall flow of the production, and input from the director Ohtsuki Bunzou (a living National Treasure and the actor who played Rui), and from one of the lead actors, Nomura Mansai, who played Kibitsuji Muzan, whom I did not see coming.
I saw in the pamphlet that they were making an Okina themed around Hinokami Kagura and in my anticipation for being lulled into this experience with a holy dance entering from the hashigakari bridgeway, I was totally taken off-guard by Muzan, in full Michael Jackson style, strolling through the audience on his way to the stage, asking, "do I look sickly to you?"
HOLY FUDGE, THAT STARTLED ME
Mansai-san (referred to in this photo on the official Twitter as "Muzan-Mansai-sama" instead of just Mansai-san like in other interviews) has other drama experience besides Noh and was chosen to play Muzan from the get-go. Man, what a great Muzan he was. I don't know that I've become a Noh fan beyond having appreciation for it, but I have indeed become a Nomura Mansai fan. Anyway, this is all to set the stage (ha!) for more of my thoughts to come later, but I'll conclude this by saying that although they decided to break from stiff tradition to produce this play, they did so in the spirit of how centuries ago, plays would use content from popular literature like The Tale of Genji and The Tale of Heike to draw in crowds. Throughout the performer commentary, you can see them imploring Kimetsu no Yaiba fans to take this as a first step into appreciating Noh. There was a lot of care in making sure they did not become a copy of the KnY stage play musicals, for example, taking liberties with the costumes to make they recognizable but more Noh style than anime style.
The script writer, Kinoshita Yuuichi, set two important rules for himself: 1. Honor Gotouge's original work As such, he did a very close reading of the 23 volumes of manga and 2 fanbooks, but did not take other adaptations or outside materials into account (such as the anime or novels).
2. Make a true Noh production Although they needed to make a few departures from strict Noh style storytelling in order to fit Gotouge's story and characters, they used the elements of KnY to make something that honors Noh tradition and technique
Rather than just fangirling about the staging choices, a lot of my fangirling is going to be about Kinoshita's care with the script, and how beautifully he paid homage to famous works of Noh canon while also paying careful attention to emotional details and references throughout KnY. As someone who tries to express my love for canon while creating fanfics that are pleasing in the English language, the amount of care he took hit me deeply. Translation and adaptation is never exchanging one structure piece by piece into another. It takes a grasp for deeper meaning and beauty, both for the original work and what it is being transformed into. I shall humbly continue to try to convey my respect for that as I continue fangirling in Parts 2 and 3, my Scene-by-Scene reactions.

Kabedon Maybe a little suggestive, with shion shogo kei and itsuki
Itsuki:
Itsuki always had the tendency to get too close. He thought he saw a touch of something else to your face, paler than normal or perhaps a touch of color that wasn’t usually there, and it worried him. He didn’t tend to use his words in moments like that, instead invading your personal space, a gentle but firm hand on your face as he felt how warm you were or inspected any marks he saw closer. He never seemed to think about the intimacy of how close he could get to you without questioning it, especially when he had you backed up against a wall after suddenly approaching. There’s another change on your face that has his brows knitted in concern, mumbling out a question about your health while you avoided telling him the reason behind your flustered appearance.
Kei Miyama:
Sometimes, Kei just wanted to be close to you. The skin-on-skin contact brought a sense of peace, like you were a safe haven that protected him from the pain of the outside world. It wouldn’t do for him to lose himself completely in you but the temporary relief is what allowed him to continue walking forward, giving him a chance to gather his thoughts. You found, however, that when Kei was lost in his thoughts he didn’t seem to realize what he was doing, his fingers tracing along your lips, your jaw, and occasionally along an exposed collarbone. He had you fighting to catch your breath, transfixed on his beauty, the way he just seemed to glow when he got close to you. It might make your heart feel like it’ll leap out of your chest but you treasured these moments with him, where he allowed himself to be a little more human.
Shion Kaida:
Shion can’t help how he yearned for you when you were gone. With his movements still limited, the only time you had to spend together was scheduled, and it was minimal at that as he was always kept busy trying to prove he could be a productive member of society again. When he sees your face again he can’t help but feel like a ravenous beast, knocking you back onto the softest surface nearby, having his hands on either side of your head as he looked down and admired how pretty you were underneath him. His hair tickled your nose and left you giggling despite the mood he was trying to set, and even Shion had to chuckle, sweeping his hair out of the way as he couldn’t let you stay distracted.
Shogo Yamato:
Shogo hadn’t even realized you were home, and came to greet you like an excitable puppy who had no concept of how long his owner had been gone but what he did know was that he missed you dearly. In his excitement he did happen to forget that he was wearing only a towel around his waist, fresh out of the shower, and the sopping wet look did a shocking amount for his sex appeal. You feel your heart clench in your chest as he greeted you with enthusiasm, your back to the wall as you tried not to look down; there was no harm in appreciating your boyfriend’s body but you wanted to at least enter the house before getting frisky. You don’t know what possessed him to get so close and demand your complete attention, but you weren’t about to complain.

Here’s the thing I don’t think Akane got replaced as the good boss Kougami could work for.The timing was right when Kougami got scouted by Frederica(which I don’t think Frederica did alone because she’s also a special investigator.Same rank as Kougami..She probably was interested since Saiga’s lessons sure but she needed approval from way higher ups in foreign ministry).Nobody in MWPSB had the power to bring back someone in sibyl’s kill list. Moreover they only need obedient enforcers. Not someone like Kougami.MoFA needed his unique skill set and gave him a good deal(I suspect he wanted to come back too).He took it.That’s pretty much all there is to it.Also Frederica is very loyal to Shogo Yabuki(I assume she got promoted to occupy this post after ppp?)MoFA means a lot to her(like unit 1 of MWPSB does to Akane). She is also very competent.Kougami,Gino and Sugo seem to have good workplace dynamic with her.(also I can tell they like her as both a boss and a person from their interactions in the pp3)Here’s the thing I think Gino saying “Our chief is so cool.Just like a female kougami”is more like Gino fanboying over her because he thinks she’s very cool? That doesn’t mean their romantic compatibility.More like they are both cool people(they are obviously) and have similar interests..They also have mutual respect going by ppp and pp3.(I do think Frederica understands Kougami’s predicament at least to a degree). Now I am not saying they can’t be a good ship, they definitely can but so far there’s nothing to suggest it’s romantic? As far as canon goes she’s competent(like Akane and Mika),loyal to MoFA and a good boss. And we should leave it at that.(Personal opinion she’s just so beautiful she doesn’t even look human😛It’s so hard to get past her beauty because why does she have to be so pretty for? She’s already competent🥲)
Yeah, I hope you didn't think I was bashing on Frederica. I'm just not that curious about her. She's good at her job and she's not a jerk. She's competent and beautiful, but that doesn't pull me emotionally to her or makes her as good a character as the holy trio.
Kogami is cool and hot and handsome, but he has an irreparable flaw that he sees and is unable to fix himself. Ginoza has remorse, regret, nostalgia for his father and he's lonely. Akane fights with the system and has paid with blood for opposing it when she could just sell out. All these people have things moving them from inside in all directions. There's doubt, introspection, internal struggle, bad decisions, trust put in the wrong people, pain. They tried their best with what they had and they fail. Kogami failed to feel like he avenged Sasayama and is hounded by the ghost of the man he killed. Akane failed to protect Kogami. Gino failed to tell those he cares about that he loves them until is too late.
Heck, even Mika is more interesting to me. Imagine knowing your friends got killed by a psycho and the killer got away. You'd be pissed at hell too at the incompetence of the police and you'd think you will change things from inside only to end up messing up and causing a terrible tragedy. You become the thing you hate. It's beautiful.
As for the Hanagami ship...(yeah, I just named it like that lol)... I don't know. I don't really see it. Maybe a fic would get me into it? I don't know.

Warnings: NSFW (MINORS, DO NOT INTERACT, PLEASE) (also sorry if it could sound a little bit dirty to someone of you!!- :'D)
⋆𝐍𝐒𝐅𝐖⋆ 𝐈𝐧𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐠𝐨 (#𝐇𝐞𝐛𝐢𝟏𝟎𝟎𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥)
⋆Interesting...
⋆Very interesting!...
⋆Inukai could seem harmless...
⋆Oh well.. At first!
⋆We all know who Inukai is actually.
⋆When his dark side takes over, Inukai becomes totally another person.
⋆And I feel like it'd be his dark side to block s/o, smirking and staring at their eyes.
⋆It would be his dark side to provoke and sex s/o very hard.
⋆If they like it rough, then they will be soon satisfied~
⋆Especially if he came back home after an hard day at the prison.
⋆He'd be quite tired but also angry and pissed off.
⋆S/o would approach him, feeling that he's not fine at all and wanting to make him relax or simply comfort him.
⋆Inukai would try to move them away, because he knows that his dark side couldn't treat them well.
⋆"Please, s/o.. Don't... I don't know if he..."
⋆After a while, though, s/o would see Inukai changing completely, his eyes becoming red, his smirk and his voice deeper than before.
⋆That's when he would grab their arm and block them, roughly and suddenly, making them placing their cheek against the wall.
⋆S/o would gasp in surprise.
⋆"Babe..- it hurts-..", they would say because of the grab.
⋆"There's still time to get hurt, babe!", he would answer, wrapping his left hand around their body, fondling them and touching their butt.
⋆Without hesitating, Inukai would start kissing and biting s/o's neck, keeping whispering dirty things to their ear.
⋆"You're my slut, aren't you?~ Does it feel good?~ Now you'll learn a lesson!~"
⋆Soon Inukai would tear s/o's clothes and look at their body, licking his own lips with his dirty look.
⋆He'd lick and kiss his nipples, even playing with them with his thumbs.
⋆Until he'd decide to pull their hair.
⋆"Kneel down, slut!!"
⋆That's when he'd start to take off his own pants, licking his own lips.
⋆After that he'd force s/o to do oral.
⋆In short, Inukai would be very active and leading.
⋆He'd be the one to decide the right moment to pull their hair and fuck them from behind.
⋆Their bodies would be all sweat while in the background s/o would try not to cry.
⋆Inukai wouldn't care if it hurts or not.
⋆"What's wrong, s/o?... Are you crying?... Aw... 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧? 𝐎𝐫 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞?~"
⋆Shogo is so cute and adorable!!
⋆He's always so kind-hearted with people and always cares about his fellows Visty.
⋆So it'd very difficult to imagine him being so hard and rough with his s/o in bed..
⋆Oh well..
⋆Maybe for most of yours~
⋆Your dear Hebi knows Shogo could be dirty too~
⋆I don't know why, but I imagine him being quite similar to Allen.
⋆Allen is hard to imagine in bed too, because he's adorable and also introverted.
⋆So imagine Shogo being in front of his fans with Visty and near his own s/o.
⋆Nobody can really imagine how that bright smile of his turns into a dirty smirk when in bed, letting his s/o riding him.
⋆S/o wearing a turtleneck to hide some bites that sweet guy gave them.
⋆But let's start from the beginning.
⋆Shogo had never felt anything like that..
⋆He had never felt that desire to fuck them so hard when he helped them not to fall and grab their arm.
⋆"S/o!! Be careful, babe!"
⋆Shogo would find himself very close to s/o, who'd have their own back against the wall, facing him.
⋆Their chest moving due to their breath..
⋆Their scent and their mouth slightly open because of the heavy breath..
⋆Shogo would feel strange and without thinking he'd put his own lips on s/o's ones, starting exploring their body, and pulling them closer to his own.
⋆He'd let himself go, brought by the desire to own them.
⋆He would whisper in their ears how horny they made him.
⋆"Babe... you're so sexy... damn, I don't know what you did to me...~!"
⋆Shogo would bite their neck slowly and romantically until he'd decide that they both need more friction.
⋆That's when everything would become harder and rougher.
⋆It'd be in climax:
⋆He'd start romantically but end it roughly.
⋆His hands exploring their body, undressing them and kneeling down.
⋆He'd be the one to do oral, to satisfy them.
⋆"You taste so sweet--..!"
⋆Our dear boi would fondle s/o's butt and pick them up, opening their legs.
⋆That's how the game would start becoming more interesting~
⋆Their sweat bodies would move against each other, wedging in roughly, in background their moans.

Seven long days are left until it is over. All of your hard work will finally pay off and you will finally be able to say that you are officially a college graduate, and not from just any college, you are graduating from Oxford University. You have spent the last four years dedicating your life to nothing but furthering your education and in 168 hours you will be holding a diploma in your hands from one of the most prominent universities in the world.
You’re drinking with some of the friends that endured the same struggle that you did bringing you guys even closer. You clink your glass with your companion and chug the contents, sighing a sigh of relief.
“I can’t believe we actually made it, Ruki,” you announce before chugging the rest of the ale in your glass.
Ruki raises an eyebrow, “thirsty?” he laughs.
“Real women don’t sip they chug,” you smile before waving the bartender over to order another round for you and your friend.
“I never seen you drink at all before,” he states, chugging the rest of his own drink.
“That’s only because I had to focus on my studies but now I’m officially free,” you explain, staring at your classmate.
You never realized how attractive Ruki is before this moment. Maybe it was because of the stress of college but whatever the reason was, you’re certainly noticing it now. His doe-like eyes seem to be locked onto you. Maybe he’s finally noticing you as well. His dirty blonde locks were hanging over his face hiding one of his eyes but you could still see the intensity in them. His nose is the most perfect shape, it’s the kind of nose that people pay a lot of money to surgically obtain. His lips are rather inviting, they naturally curl upwards in the corners and all you can seem to imagine is how they’d feel against your skin. But you force that thought out of your head. What are you doing thinking of Ruki in this way? He’s just a fellow classmate, despite his prince-like features and appearance you have to remember that in the past four years never once has things crossed the line so why would they start now?
Ruki shakes his head, moving his tousled hair out of his eyes. He raises an eyebrow, “what’s on your mind, Y/N?” he asks in a lower, almost seductive voice.
“I’m just thinking about,” you start to say but trail off due to getting so easily distracted by his closeness. You suddenly realize the proximity of his body. A mixture of cologne, deodorant, and the mixed berry chapstick that glistened his lips overtakes your thoughts as you try to stay focused.
“Thinking about what?” Ruki repeats, slowly moving the loose strand of hair out of your face, gently securing it behind your ear. When his hand grazes your cheek, chills instantly shoot through your body and any chance of you staying coherent is completely gone. “Can I just tell you?” he says softly, moving his face even closer to yours, making your heart beat so hard you are certain he’s able to hear it. “I don’t know why I’m only noticing this now but you have the most gorgeous eyes that I have ever seen before.”
And there it is, 11:48pm, the time that will forever be engraved in your mind as the time that your life has changed forever. Your phone starts vibrating on the bar before you have time to respond to the beautiful prince, now only inches away from your face. You glance down to see a photo of you and your brother on the screen of your iPhone. You sigh as you sit up, knowing that your brother would never call you at this hour for nonsense.
You mouth an ‘I’m sorry’ to Ruki before pressing your phone up to your ear and saying, “This better be important, Shogo.”
The name seems to spike the interest of the handsome boy who backs away, clearly disappointed by the slight rejection. He is fidgeting with his lighter that was previously lying flat on the bar in front of him. He watches you, from the corner of his eyes, noticing the sudden change in your demeanor. Everything from your facial expression, down to your body language instantly changes. He knows right then and there that any chance of tonight being the night he’s been secretly dreaming of is completely out of reach.
As soon as you end the call, he turns and asks, “is everything ok?”
Tears are gathering in the corner of your eyes, as you fight to keep them contained, but the panic is still written clearly all over your face. “There’s been an accident,” you whisper. “I have to fly back to Tokyo.”
“Oh my god,” Ruki gasps, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. “What kind of accident?”
“I’m not sure,” you sigh, gathering your belongings. “But it’s my father…I’m sorry I have to go.”
You stand up, rushing towards the door. You head outside waving a taxi over. After climbing inside, the tears start to slowly break free from their prison. They stream down your cheeks as you give the address of your apartment to the driver.
Everything from here becomes a blur. When you get the news of a loved one’s possible demise it’s hard to comprehend the amount of emotions that race through your existence. You maneuver through the motions in almost a mechanical, robotic motion. After you gather some belongings from your apartment, the taxi drives you to the airport. This is the most grueling part of your journey. At normal hours, this is easily close to a three-hour car ride but at this hour the trip is nearly cut in half.
The taxi pulls up to the entrance and you hand him two hundred dollar bills, telling him to keep the change as a thank you for getting you to your destination both safely and in record time.
You exit the cab, stunned to see Ruki standing by the entrance. “What are you doing here?” you ask.
“When you left, you seemed so out of it,” Ruki starts to explain as he takes the small travel bag you are holding from your grips. “I have to go back to Tokyo as well. I wasn’t planning on leaving till next week but I figured you could use the company so I rushed here and got us two tickets a while.”
His explanation leaves you completely utterly stunned. You always liked Ruki but you never saw this side of him. He never acted like he cared this much before but you can’t lie, it makes you feel special. The tears start to flow again, embarrassed by the display of emotions, you look away from him. You feel his arms pull you into a warm embrace, somehow easing some of your discomfort. He pulls back, moving your face upwards with his hand gently on your chin.
“I’m here for you, Y/N,” he whispers. “In whatever way you need me.”
“I appreciate that,” you smile, shyly.
Ruki leans in, pressing his lips onto yours but only for a few seconds, only enough to leave you wanting more. “Come on, we gotta catch our flight,” Ruki says, grabbing your hand and pulling you behind him as he walks into the airport.
After a twelve hour flight, your plane lands in Tokyo. You stand up, stretching before following your friend off of the plane. You turn to look at Ruki, “thank you for doing this for me.”
“Eh,” he shrugs, nonchalantly, “it was nothing.”
“What do you mean it was nothing?” you ask, placing your hand on his chest. You want to grab him and pull his body against yours. You want to feel him again but you don’t have the balls to do something so forward.
“I don’t know what is going on with you but I could tell you could use a friend,” Ruki announces. He leans forward and presses his lips against yours. He pulls away, staring intently into your eyes, “and I want to be the person that you can always depend on.”
“Y/N!” you hear someone yelling your name.
You turn to see your brother running towards you. How are you going to explain the boy standing with you? Shogo is an overprotective brother and he never thinks anyone is good enough for his perfect baby sister.
“Oh god, here we go,” you sigh, taking a deep breath turning to look at Ruki who is no longer standing behind you. You look around, searching for where he could have slipped away to but to no avail.
Shogo runs over, wrapping his arms around you, “I’m so glad you finally made it,” he says. “I just wish it could be under better circumstances.”
You pull away to look at your older brother, solemnly, “so what happened?”
“This isn’t the place,” Shogo states, furrowing his eyebrows while examining you. “Who was that guy?”
“What guy?” you ask.
“Um, well nevermind then,” he sighs, grabbing your arm. “We gotta get going, I’m not sure how much time we have left.”
You follow him out of the airport, to a blacked out Mercedes suv parked right out front of the entrance. He opens the passenger side door for you to climb in. When you don’t move, he turns to look at you, “what are you doing, get in.”
“I don't think you’re supposed to park here,” you sigh, climbing inside.
Shogo ignores your remarks, slamming your door shut then walks around and climbs inside the driver’s side. He fires the engine up, “actually dear sister, I can park anywhere I fucking want to.”
“That’s not how things work,” you argue, rolling your eyes at his ignorance and flat out stupidity. “So NOW can you tell me what’s going on with father?”
Shogo takes a deep breath before speaking. “Father was going to one of his business meetings and his vehicle was shot up.”
“Why would anyone want to hurt him?” you gasp, feeling the tears starting to form in your eyes again.
“He’s a very important person in the company and sometimes this stuff happens,” he explains as vaguely as possible.
You know the explanation is not a good one, you’re not an idiot, afterall you spent most of your life preparing to become an attorney but you decide not to argue, now isn’t the time for that. You turn to look at your brother with tears streaming down your cheeks, “Shogo,” you whisper. “Is father going to be alright?”
“No,” he states, fighting back tears of his own. “He’s on life support and is barely holding on. That’s why I said we had no time to fuck around.”
You don’t respond, mainly because of what is there to say. Your father is dying and there is absolutely nothing that can be done to save him. And the worst part of it all is that you haven’t spoken to him for years all because of your stubbornness and need for independence.
Shogo pulls to the front of the hospital, parking his car at the entrance. This time you don’t question his choice of parking, there are bigger issues at hand and honestly who cares if he gets a ticket. You get out of the vehicle and follow him through the hospital. You watch as different staff members silently greet your brother as a show of respect. You don’t understand why anyone would be showing respect to your loser brother but once again, now is not the time to question.
You follow your brother inside of a private hospital room, where your father is laying helpless, hooked up to all sorts of machines. You feel your knees shaking and the room starts to spin. “Oh my god, daddy,” you cry, running over to his side. You grab his hand, squeezing it, “please don't leave me daddy. I love you.”
Shogo walks behind you, placing his hand on your back attempting to aid some comfort which only makes your sobbing increase. You look up at him with tear stained cheeks and glassy eyes, “he can’t leave us, Shogo, we need him. He needs to see me graduate.”
“He has always been so proud of you, Y/N,” Shogo sighs, fighting back his own tears.
“No he hasn’t,” you argue. “I’m a disgrace. I never fit into the little cookie mold like I was supposed to. That’s why he sent me away to boarding school in the U.S and never allowed me to come home. He’s always been ashamed of me, unlike you. You’re daddy’s son, the perfect child, the one he’s so proud of and couldn’t wait for you to take over the family business.”
Shogo laughs a little but only because of how dead wrong you actually are. “You have always been his favorite and that is why he sent you away. It was for your own protection, Y/N. If he knew you were here right now, he would be so upset with me. There’s so much you don’t know and I can’t tell you but you need to understand that everything that father has done for you, has been done completely out of love, not shame.”
“That doesn’t make any sense,” you state, laying your head down on your father’s hand. “Please don’t go, daddy, I’m begging you.”
The constant beeping of the heart monitor stops. Your father’s heart flatlines, his body starts seizing on the bed as nurses run into his room and the chaos starts to erupt. Shogo grabs you by the shoulders, pulling you outside of the room to allow the medical professionals to work in peace. You turn, burrowing your head in his chest, unable to control the sobbing.
The door to your father’s room opens and the nurses start to exit, none of which are making eye contact with you or your brother. You follow him back inside the room, just in time to see the doctor pulling a white sheet over the body of what used to be your father.
“I’m so sorry, sir,” the dr. says, looking at Shogo. “We tried everything we could but he was gone.”
Shogo’s face is drained of all colors, and his eyes turn dark. You could see his ability to control himself leave his body and the loving caring brother is no longer there. He flips the table at the end of the bed, throwing it harshly against the wall. “THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS WILL PAY,” he screams. He storms out of the room, leaving you behind.
