Keen Summer Shop Shoes

Summer time shop shoes are an awkward balance of protection and comfort.  We slide into our shop for short working sessions and then leave for on-site work or to go home and relax.  Shoes are something that needs to be comfortable, rugged and look the part for summer.  KEEN Utility has been on our feet for a few years as we enjoy the sizing and width of the shoes.  The KEEN Utility Asheville has been our go to shop shoe as we can slip it on, enjoy the aluminum toe protection and have the comfort of the left and right asymmetrical aluminum safety toes.  We use these shoes as light duty work shoes, but toe protection has become a shop must as it has saved us from small injuries.

We chose the KEEN Utility Asheville shoes this summer because we wanted toe protection, slip resistance and a cool dry shoe that we could slip on easily.  It is not super easy to find a shoe that will work with shorts or pants and covers all those items.

Quick Protection

Having shoes that are cool in the summer, oil resistant and, and slip resistant is a must for many.   Our summer duties are in damp conditions and we need shoes that allow perspiration and heat to leave the shoe.  Many features of this very protective shoe reminds us of the KEEN Utility Atlanta Cool that stands out as one of our favorites because of how comfortable it is.  Even with the extra protection, this Asheville is just as comfortable.

Durability 

In our eyes, the quality of a shoe or boot is based on the durability.  A GOOD work boot needs to stand up to the abuse you are putting them through and be comfortable.  In our experience, the KEEN Utility leather boots have fit the bill for being a comfortable boot with the ability to stand up to serious abuse of construction, agriculture, automotive work and metal fabrication.  While wearing these boots you would have very little clue they are steel toe or have a metatarsal guard built in.  Left and right asymmetrical steel toes make the shoes comfortable and they fit correctly to each foot.  We cannot praise these work shoes enough and would highly recommend them!

CONQUEST SNEAKER OF THE WEEK: Nike React Element 87 Yeah, I know.... I haven't done one of these in weeks, maybe months, but I'm back with a few selections, and I'm starting with a shoe that apparently is in the running for 'SNEAKER OF THE YEAR' for most shoe pundits, bloggers and 'shoetubers', and that shoe is the Nike React Element 87 WHY I LIKE IT?: When it comes to lifestyle sneakers, Retro Jordans are still immensely popular among sneaker enthusiasts. Still, it's super dope when a company dares to introduce something new to the masses that could easily become the 'new wave' because of it's design and its technology, and with its intricate color blocking, flexible and cushiony outsole, futuristic looking tonque & lacing system and 'see through' toebox, the Element 87 may be that 'new wave' that carries on tradition like the Vapormax, Prestos and Adidas' NMDs before it WOULD I BUY IT? Even with the aforementioned being stated, I dunno about grabbing it for myself just yet, if at all. It's a great looking shoe in theory, but would they look good on my feet? Guess I would have to try it on to see, and then decide if I love it enough to luckily get them for retail or (gulp!) cop them for resell. Plus, more color ways are on deck for this shoe (hopefully not the point of nauseum). Either way, if you do cop them, make sure your 'sock game' is on point (word to @rodthespecialist). Remember that 'see through' toe-box I mentioned? Okay then. LOL!
