I thought I would share this video to brighten up your day! These small cheetahs will one day soon become the fastest animals in the world. Tiger was a decent distance from us watching deer and potential targets in all directions for several hours. He stunningly chose a path to stalk deer that brought him immediately past our Jeep. Tiger’s use stealth to stalk their target prey and then when close enough, a burst of speed over short distance to finish the kill. Their success rate is low because they are solitary hunters - only 10-15%. The hunt ends when a deer spots him and let’s out the distinctive alarm call. We did not have an opportunity to move and it is possible he was using the Jeep to some extent to shield him from the sight of the deer. Reposted from @shizzyswildcatrescue This was one of the moments in Machali's life that separated her from all the other tigers in Ranthambore National Park. She drove her mother and sisters out of her land at such a young age and kept that land for several years. Not only did she not let other large male tigers take it from her, she also did not allow ANY predator to out-do her. Her offspring and genes can be found all throughout Ranthambore National Park and she was one of the most successful animals that has ever been documented. Even as she aged and lost her ruler status, lost her ability to successfully hunt for herself, and lost her canines, she still remained the heart of India. Read below to find out why. This photo is from Pawan Menon. This tiger did not eat this animal. Most of the time when predators befriend one of these prey animals it is because they have had physiological issues, for example a lion getting thrown out of a pride might cause them to want companionship and might cause them to befriend a prey animal. The second reason might be that curiosity kicks in. Even though they are big cats, they can display curiosity and start to play with prey animals. The third is the most interesting. This tigress is pregnant. She not only has hormones running through her but she also has maternal instincts. Because of these maternal instincts she let this animal live. This prey animal is just a baby and must have made her feel compassion as though the prey animal was hers or she wanted to get practice holding young before her litter arrived. This tiger also picked up this deer and started to walk with the deer in her mouth.
