Vampire movies I have been watching to keep me sane until season 3 of iwtv (Part 2)
Moving on to the sapphic vampire movies I’ve watched thus far
Wir Sind Die Nacht/ We Are The Night 4/5🌟
•does this movie really deserve 4 stars? Maybe not but I love it dearly anyway
•has the same feel as those slightly shitty fantasy books one consumes as a pre teen when one grows up in the 2010’s (based on a purely hypothetical example of course, I personally obviously never did that haha ha ha)
•could be SO good if they would’ve had the balls to make the main character bi
•shitty cop character that you just have to ignore to enjoy the movie
•One of the characters (Louise) is low key a genderbent Lestat?? Blonde ✔️ Obsessive about her love interests ✔️ Also insane but in a glamorous way ✔️
And did I mention a lesbian???????
•anyhow can you tell I’m obsessed with her
•loved the other characters as well, specially Nora and Charlotte (the main character is ok too)
•loved the atmosphere& cinematography
•the first 2/3rds of this movie are fantastic
•one of my favorite vampire turning/transformation scenes
•one of my favorite vampires being vampires and messing around montages
•this could really be a cult classic imo (specially if they just would have committed to the gayness even more)
•LESBIAN VAMPIRE YEARNING!!!!
The Hunger (1983) 4/5🌟
•didn’t like this one much either on my first watch and then rewatched it and was utterly convinced I loved it until right before the ending happened lol
•starts off with a goth club scene where Bela Lugosi Is Dead is playing (it’s so iconic)
•very cool cinematography
•Bisexual Vampire Yearning& Angst
•like seriously this movie is beautifully queer
•thought all the characters were interesting but did not buy that Catherine Deneuve was a vampire from ancient Egypt lmfao
•honestly feels quite anne rice-esque in essence to me
Carmilla (2019) 3,5/5🌟
•didn’t like it the first time I watched it but appreciate it more upon rewatching it several times
•i loved the idea of this movie but am not sold on the execution
•needed more scenes to build up the romance
•actors sort of have a face that looks like it knows what an iPhone is and that took me out of it
•Miss Fontaine was low key annoying and not in an intentional way
•loved the anatomy scenes, the insects& scenes of slow decay
•loved the cinematography& visuals
•BLOODY! SAPPHIC! KISSES!!!!!
•like genuinely when the movie was good it was very good but when it wasn’t good it was kind of meh???
•it could have been such a good movie smh
I still have a lot of lesbian vampire movies from the 70’s on my list so I will expand this sapphic section considerably (and probably cringe at a lot of male gaze-y shit lol)

so I decided since I am a fnaf veteran and also planning a fnaf rewrite I give my opinions on the games and such and explain why I like or hate the game.
fnaf 1 2 and 3: the reason why I love these three is because it feels like a perfect trilogy the mystery the intense setting just a chef kiss and yes I agree fnaf 3 isn’t the brightest but I don’t care cause it’s actually my top favorite fnaf game I love the character spring trap a lot he has always been my favorite and the story’s ending fits of how the ghost of the dead children decided to punish their murder by making him go threw what they go threw.
fnaf 4: now I don’t hate this game far from it actually it’s probably the scariest fnaf game I seen and plus the designs of the nightmares are cool! It just I wish it was executed abit better as it does have flaws to the story (like example what did fucking michael expect when he put his brother in the mouth of a animatronic what did he think was gonna happen)
FNAF WORLD: now it maybe not a horror game…but I do enjoy the chibi animatronics and they look adorable I would never play it but I’ll look at the gameplay or art time to time.
Sister location: this game was kinda meh to me and feels wasted potential and it being a prequel just kinda ruins the lore especially since the first game takes place in 1970s…and advance animatronics like that doesn’t make sense and plus I feel like it would have fit a lot better if it was like taken place after the three games and maybe if you wanna make it a prequel make the animatronics less advance and give it the aesthetic of that time period (and don’t make the ballerina animatronic sexualized when she is a animatronic for children (cause you can’t tell me she isn’t sue me-)
pizza simulator: I fucking hate this game cause to me it ruined five nights at Freddy the only good thing was the cool speech Henry gave I already stop being into five nights at Freddy from this cause it ruined it for me the mystery was gone it just felt like they were just milking the franchise now and I don’t get how people like it.
THE FNAF VR AR AND ULTIMATE CUSTOM NIGHT: this is similar to pizza simulator and it sucks cause like this could have been fixed if they were just not canon like fnaf world and just got entertainment.
SECURITY BREACH: this one made me the most disappointed cause I remember when I saw the trailer I was actually very excited and positive about the game and made my theories on the game of what’s gonna happen…but it just turned out as a shitty glitchy game and I will announce as the WORST five nights at Freddy’s games ever made.
it frustrated me how bad it was to like showing the trailers aren’t true to the game amazing voice actors replaced with bad ones (aka vanny) and the only think I like about this game is the animatronics (not their designs their ok but it feels weird to even like them cause they are made by a problematic artist but the idea names etc)
Gregory also feels like a annoying main character like I just want him to just shut up like to me he doesn’t sound like a kid he just sounds like a bad voice actor trying to imitate a child but with a sore throat.
and don’t get me started on Vanessa which could have been a separate character to vanny cause like I hated she turned out to be vanny (and I always found it strange she was the only human security guard I mean…for a big ass fucking place as security breach which is probably the biggest map of any fnaf game your telling me there isn’t more human security guards? Like I’m aware of the security bots but they barely do shit in the game)
it upsetted me when I first saw the game I was so excited for it like how I would have fix it maybe make it like similar to the incident the death of the 5 children make it start as a tutorial where your parents take you to Freddy fazbears with your friends you get a tutorial of how to run climb and such.
and like you meet vanny she tried to kill you and maybe try to make the animatronics interesting since they are taking ai animatronics who actually have feelings and emotions route make them like Trying to fight back their aggressive programming do something to make it interesting! you had the ball In your hands yet you just decided to throw it into a fucking cliff this includes ruin and into the pit which is bad too.
And it sucks cause like I don’t know what is gonna happen now like it feels like five nights at Freddy is the broken shell it once was…
now does this mean you should also hate it no you don’t have to hate any these games if you like them feel free to for me it just feels like fnaf was ruined to me with its books and bad sequels cause like sometimes it feels like Scott didn’t seem to know what he wanted for the game and it feels like he was making it up as he went a lot going with the most craziest and dumbest ideas.
but you can still love fnaf I still like it too but like I am not as much into it anymore (due to the fans being crazy with its ships etc ) although even if I do plan a fnaf rewrite it’s not to spite Scott or any fnaf fans i just wanna do it to reconnect to fnaf when it was at its prime and feel abit of nostalgia.
and despite my hate for how fnaf went but I am glad they still exist cause we got amazing fan made songs and people got into the franchise and not to mention they can be inspiring and also help popularize mascot horror which is one of my favorite type of horror!
now I wish I could explain how I hate it more (but I suck at fucking explaining) although I do highly suggest video which honestly explains the fall way better then I could ever can
youtube
Anyways that’s all please don’t attack me for my opinions and I hope you have a good day or night.

Sorry for the length of this, but you got me thinking! I feel like I should have started keeping an eye out on Erik not planning a lot of major plot points when he introduced Xavier right before the games, gave us no time to get to know him, then killed him and had characters (even Freelancer) react in a way like they were bffs with him like what in the Star Trek redshirt was that? But Inversion was so good otherwise to me that I ignored that.
I feel like I really should have taken more notice when Milo recovered from his Inversion injury after two videos (but Erik had personal reasons for that so I went sure). Then, after all this lore talk of how much bloodlust new vampires have and how much they struggle, we didn't see any of that with Lovely, but we were still not to far off from Inversion so I ignored it again lol.
There's some personal preference stuff where I get confused at his lack of consistent framing when it comes to consent where Alexis is the bitch and is more or less a villain (with little nuance so far in canon) for ignoring Sam's consent. But Cutie (with how Erik says they and Geordi aren't broken up) is framed as being able to work towards forgiveness despite years of ignoring Geordi's consent even after he cried about it to them.
I'm on the fence about his 'I intended Imperium season 2 to be the end' because I don't think it's the worst place to stop, but I do think that there's some more story to tell and if the views were a lot better then he probably wouldn't have stopped (only guessing here)?
I think what made me finally stop and wonder 'does he plan?' was how Quinn's capture (after all that build up) happened off-screen and only had Darlin' punch him while he was tied up. I thought the Summit was fine in a very Clue way, but watching the Vega video today had me go '...oh okay' which I don't mind deaths, but that shouldn't be a reaction to that lol.
I feel like I want to give one more of his big plotlines a chance and hope he's planned that one, but idk. The guy capable of making Inversion has to be able to do something even sort of to that level again hopefully??
Don't apologise, Anon! I love reading your thoughts.
Xavier was the beginning. Yes, I was also emotionally devastated; it added stakes to the Inversion, but a part of me always wondered if killing off a character was the only way Erik could add impact to the Inversion? Because no matter how good the angst is, if you introduce a character, make them have ties with one of the main cast and later kill them just to add depth to the main cast, it feels very cheap.
Maybe this is me being salty, but making Milo unable to Shift for at least a few more videos before his Core is healed enough would've been better. The anxiety of not knowing if he became truly magicless and the trauma that would bring would be a better alternative to Xavier's death. I feel like Erik is so damn afraid to do anything bad to his cash cows nowadays. That aftermath from the Summit? The talk that David had with Angel or whatever? That was honest to go foreplay. Yes, the Shaw Pack was affected by William's plan; they saw a murder happening right in front of them, boo hoo... boo hoo. The Summit is absolutely nothing when compared to the Inversion, where hello? Actual and thousands of deaths occurred!?
That thing with Lovely, and how well and quickly did they transition into the Vampiric lifestyle? Lame. Boring. Where's the struggle? Oh right, the fandom scared Erik badly enough to scrap Bright Eyes.
Also, I get that Erik's movie is Clue, and he was trying to do the same for the Summit, but it just turned into, 'Great idea, bad execution' kind of video. Meh.
That Alexis and Cutie parallels... I never noticed that before, Anon! Huh! You have a good eye when it comes to details. Listen, I love Alexis. I love Cutie. I love deeply flawed characters, and I also love deeply flawed characters that either own up to it or revel in their shittiness. I just want Cutie and Geordi to break up already so Cutie can find someone on their level, and Geordi can find someone with enough patience to deal with him and his baggage. Though both of them need to work on their own stuff first, tbh. Cutie is not blameless, and neither is Geordi.
Will we get an Imperium Season 2, though, Anon? I already don't have faith in Erik's story writing so I'm not looking forward to he'll fucked up another series.
Ah! So Quinn's Ending was your tipping point, Anon. I hate Sam and Darling but even I believe they deserve better. Though I giggled when Darling beat up a tied-up Quinn as a way to get their revenge. Oooo, so badass! What a strong Listener! You feel empowered at that moment, Anon? I feel like I was ridiculed after everything, IMO.
Vega's death was a slap in the face to me because of the utter disrespect. You built this character up to be ancient, manipulative, powerful, only for him to moan and die? Wow! I wondered if he actually hated Vega! This might be a gambit, and Vega might be faking his death, or this is some part of his plan, but I don't care anymore. At least give him a proper end, ya know? Again, same with Quinn's situation. I FEEL RIDICULOUS FOR EVER INVESTED IN THE SERIES.
I'm not morbidly curious to see how he's gonna fuck up Project Meridian. I don't doubt that Erik can create a new series that starts off fantastically, only for it to end like a wet fart. Let's hope Inversion isn't his one-hit-wonder, eh?

Here's a tip on how to read and enjoy neverending superhero comics. My credentials for this is being a lifelong X-Men reader, so ~35 years of ups and downs with the mutant soap opera.
Initially you have to find something that speaks to you. Gods, mighty powers, more of a solo book with an expanded cast, a team to follow - nobody can help you with that. With all the comic book adaptations from cartoons to live action movies, you might already have your preferences, go with that.
Now, this is about the big two mostly. Those run on cycles. The writers will come and go (as do the artists), they will try new things, they will broaden the story, they will retcon things, they will go for a big change - and in the end, every book has a core status quo it will return to. Always slightly different, going with the times, but the deep down core is there, trust that.
Many people will pick up your fav characters and write for them. And if you've talked to other people you might have noticed by now that two people can like the same character and still view them a bit differently. This will happen. Some writers will align with what you value most, some really won't. In the worst moments your fav character feels so OOC, you will question how you could ever go back to loving them. But don't worry:
This too shall pass!
A single issue can give you the best scene your little blorbos have been in that you want to rub your face all over the page to absorb it all. And suddenly there is one throwaway line of dialogue in there that is the most disgusting shit you've ever read. Sometimes the idea is super intriguing, but the execution is lacking. Sometimes the art is perfect, but you can't even explain the plot. Sometimes it's overall a meh-story, but the little details with the interactions are just right.
And here's the thing - a few years later nothing of that really matters. You can cling to all the cherished moments. Funny domestic hilarity, a big twist that really captured your emotions, the perfect heartbreak, some cool action that lives rent free in your head. And then you run with that. And you can forget about the rest.
Any in-depth analysis of a character that has been around the publishing block for a few years (but really decades upon decades by now with the well known names) will come with a huge bag of inconsistencies. Please keep that in mind. Also that goes both ways. Your fav will have had a shitty period. So don't take this whole thing too seriously, especially when interacting with other fans (or just writing/reading meta).
Focus on the things that bring you joy and time will help to soften out the edges. Loving superheroes is either a very short sprint - where you care about one specific moment in time only - or the longest marathon through a lot of uncanny valleys.
Also don't believe the always looming "this is the worst they've ever done". Go read some fan mail in older issues (and I mean old, read fan letters from the 70s or 80s, read letters in now acclaimed classic storylines) - people have been saying that since forever. But even the worst stories have some wonderful moments worth remembering. Worth loving.
It's also okay to not have big opinions on everything going on. Sometimes you have to shrug your shoulders and browse through some back issues for a while. That's allowed. Or to take a break entirely until the creative team changes once again.
#I am looking forward to the end of Krakoa and yet it's also a bit sad#what I disliked most was the failure to account for mutants being raised in non-mutant cultures first#how mutant culture itself isn't a separate thing entirely but built on diverse human culture#also the whole Arakko thing and Apocalypse and... ugh...#and maybe don't have them deal all those pills it opens this big can of worms we ignore with suspension of disbelief for a reason#but I did enjoy a lot that came just from this whole paradise island like living situation#there were fun teams and some very fun times (sorry Moira for being thrown under the bus so hard for all of this)#it was a great way to bring so many people together that never interacted much before especially all the 'younger' generations#I know there are things I will look back on very fondly#it's the only way to keep the joy alive

Rough The Menu review from someone who knows how it goes but got bored right before [spoiler] died
2/10
I was hoping for a movie about rich people getting fucked and I kinda got that
It was like... kinda about classism and shit. And then maybe 3 employees who weren't the celebrity chef we're named so. That's.
Also I don't think it's capital R Racist but it feels WEIRD. Like all the characters of color were background or shitty people or Elsa. Like
it felt White is what
Again not the worst but I wish it was all white people weirdly enough. I don't care for it
Why did they make the chef like a cult leader? Genuinely?? Why
I feel like they tried to make him sympathetic or whatever and I just thought he sucked. Like you're also rich you dumb fuck
There was no cannibalism or poisoning or like near inedible and dangerous as far as I remember. Boring
Fully just kinda boring and the gore was also boring.
Anyways interesting idea pretty meh execution
Not a problem with the Movie but the bergamot tea makes me want to die it looks like absolute shit
I keep wanting to call it the chef

I suggest you give The Flux another try, because I remember completely dismissing it when I first saw it ONLY BECAUSE THIRTEEN'S PREVIOUS TWO SEASONS WERE UNDERWHELMING AS HELL.
But The Flux, my friend, is one of the best things New Who ever integrated into the lore of the show.
If you completely ignore Thirteenth Doctor's series 11 and 12, you will really appreciate The Flux series. Trust me, friend. The Flux is very Classic Who-- an expanded lore with beloved characters that linger with you.
Chris Chibnall could've written the Timeless Children arc better during Series 12. I am not opposed to the idea of the Doctor being adopted, considering the premise of the title character has always been the mystery behind the character. A lot of Whovians, including me, were massively turned off by The Timeless Child plot AT FIRST (shitty execution, not gonna lie).... until I re-watched The Flux a second time around. My mind is honestly blown by Chibnall's dedication to add to the lore without taking away from Classic Who, truly. It was Chibnall's "saving grace".
The Flux is, by far, a deep and heart-felt dedication to the Classic Who series. If you haven't already, please go watch the Classic Who serial called "The Trial of a Timelord, and you'll see what I mean.
I am guessing the current series might be harking back on Fourth Doctor's "The Key To Time"-- but as of now, I'm not seeing the integration of Fifteen's series in the history of Who yet... meh, just superficial bits and pieces of CW lore that RTD keeps dangling to us like baits.
To answer your question, there was never a "damage" from The Flux series. RTD, however, arguably messed up the Sutekh lore. Fifteen's first finale was total and absolute shit, to answer your question.
So did this finale fix the damage done in the flux? Or just the damage from this particular episode?

hiii my i request hcs or something for dave ehren and johnny (sepereate) where jackass hired you for a stunt or something and they end up finding you really cool and inviting you for more stunts/parties just to see you? some fluff please
luv u
a/n: well hello iloveappleberries, i luv u! <3 i hope you enjoy!! :)))
Inviting You to Events After Working With You!!
(shitty title, my apologies)
warnings: fluff, mentions of alcohol, and i’m pretty sure that’s it!! :)
Dave
Dave was rly shy at first
he thought you were really cool from the start, and knew immediately that he wanted to be friends (and maybe more) with you
he wanted so badly to talk to you, but thought that you may think he was weird
poor baby
so so so awkward
until he finally talks to u!!
you immediately connect with him
you two are complete opposites, but it worked really well!
for example: he talked about snowboarding?
you had no clue about any of that
BUT you thought it was still super swag
(swaaaaaag)
he took you to his favorite bar when he asked you out
he didn’t want to throw you into a jackass party right away
he had to let you get your feet wet first
after hanging with you away from work, he realizes that he really enjoys being around you
and you feel the same way
he keeps inviting you places
with his friends
or just the two of you
he also really enjoyed doing different stunts with you
you were badass
and he LOVED IT
overall, Dave really loves spending time with you in any way
but he really likes that now you two can spend time alone, and it’s not awkward :)
Ehren
ehren mcghehey
the weirdest, but sweetest boy alive
this guy was most definitely intimidated by you at first
why? no clue.
he just was
but Jeff ended up putting you two together for a stunt one day
you two talked for a while, and realized that you both had many common interests
ehren ended up inviting you to the party that was happening that night
you had definitely already been told about it
but you acted like you knew nothing of it
made that boy’s heart smile so big when you said you’d go
truthfully, I feel like he literally just wanted to hold your hand the whole time
so sweet to you!!
he thought you were such a cool person
he never wanted to stop talking to you
he also loved when you showed the slightest interest in anything he was saying
or anything in general
he was really good at keeping conversations going
because he never wanted to stop talking to you
as time went on, he kept inviting you to more stuf
and the both of you ended up doing most things with just each other.
such a great friendship had blossomed, and both of you were thankful
but the whole time, even after being friends for a while, ehren was still a nervous wreck
what a sweetie
Johnny
so, this one’s a bit of a doozy
you and Johnny were already acquaintances
but you two never found much time to actually talk to each other
here we go
Johnny wrote a stunt, and no one wanted to do it
except you, of course
he thought it was a bad idea to have you do it
he didnt want to see you get hurt
but, you insisted that it would be fine
trusting your judgement, he let you do it
even though he still thought it was a bad idea
when it finally came time for you to do it, no one could have done it better
it’s like you had rehearsed it
essentially, the skies opened and the heavens started singing
perfect execution
perfect footage
you had Johnny at the drop of a pin from that moment on
he immediately invited you to the bar that night to hang with him and the guys
you agreed, wanting to make better friends with him and the others
instantly clicked.
it was so easy to talk to him
and he loved talking to you
he was naturally a flirt, so obviously, you know…..
yeah, you get the idea (take that as you will)
BUT you both had such a great connection
something a lil more than friends definitely came out of that friendship !!
most badass duo there ever was
a/n: i hope you enjoyed it! if you ever want to request anything, please do!! also sorry this is kinda meh. I’ve had the WORST writer’s block ever. anyways! much love! -em <3

axelle judges non bl shows > 7 Project
shitty summary: 7 love stories with their own theme songs.
where to watch: youtube
grade: 7/10
pros:
- the acting is definitely good, which was to be expected.
- the production value is good as well.
cons:
- very inconsistent writing depending on the episodes.
- overall most stories were just plain boring, and the show didn’t add anything to my life.
EPISODES RANKING
ep 5 “breakup zone”: I’m a sucker for best friends to lovers, and even though this didn’t really add anything to the table, I feel like it was structurally the episode that worked the best & actually made me feel something. 7,5/10
ep 6 “vs love”: I actually quite enjoyed this, even though it was a bit rushed in my opinion. would appreciate it more as a full length movie. 7/10
ep 2 “rhythm’s heart”: this was kinda cute, but I felt like the love story was so forced, & the use of a wlw kiss that led to nothing (when there’s such a lack of wlw representation in thai dramas) felt quite fetishizing to me, especially coupled with the next episode. I did like the universe of the music store quite a bit though. 6,5/10
ep 1 “would you be my love?”: honestly this story was the one with by far the most potential, though I have difficulty stomaching bullying. sadly, I felt like it really wasn’t executed the best & left me pretty meh about it. 6,5/10
ep 6 “my puppy love”: by far the most basic & overseen story of the bunch. the acting & chemistry were good, but I’ve just seen this story so many times before I couldn’t bring myself to care about it at all. 6,5/10
ep 3 “remember”: legit have a full reaction video on it so I’ll be short, but this felt like the worst kind of wlw representation. it’s not even queerbait bc it clearly deals with queer female characters, but it destroyed their relationship so fast & for no reason other than drama that it felt gross considering this is the first thai gl, at least marketed to international fans. overall it just felt really weird & fetishizing and the story was not even interesting so it’s really a flop. 5/10
ep 4 “once upon a time”: this was so weirdly written & executed, I don’t even think I understood most of it. it felt really boring & the characters weren’t compelling at all, & I’m honestly quite confused about how they thought this episode was a good idea. 5/10
would I rewatch it: not really
Overall that was really unnecessary, forgettable story. Wouldn’t recommend.

Reaper is 100% giving the threatening big brother look but Felix was already planning on getting Dill medication for the tuberculosis because movie Felix seems pretty nice and no one can look at Dill and not want to help her without being an absolute monster. I’ll say Clemmie is out of the hospital already and isn’t turning into a snake woman because how would that even work? Also one snake managed to kill Treech so why would it give Clemensia snake characteristics? So I’m ignoring that bit.
The housing situation will definitely be very shitty for kids like Facet who drew the shortest of all the short straws that were drawn, but a big thing is that all the mentors started off with the same attitude Livia did aside from Sejanus. The difference is that Facet died before she could get close to him, Lysistrata only stated she became fond of Jessup after the bombing although it must have been a growing feeling. I think, if Facet hadn’t died, Livia might have started to care for him by the time the games rolled around. Brandy is still dead because that happened before the arena bombing, and thus Arachne is too (fuck her), so that’s a possible roadblock for the tributes, but all of them end up at least civil with their mentors. Yeah Arachne would absolutely do something like that to Brandy, so our favorite butcher girl gets to keep her “Imma drag your ass down to hell with me and watch you burn” moment.
Festus would probably be… meh. The games are still technically on so he needs Coral to be in the best shape possible. In the book he had a truly disgusting suggestion for how to force the districts to watch the games (execution of everyone who didn’t) and was okay with the idea of betting on the lives of children to “liven things up” so just like everyone else he was prejudiced against the districts, but he did call Clemensia heartless for not giving Reaper food during the games so we can infer he at least started to see the tributes as people in some capacity. Even though he changed his mind when Reaper tried to show other tributes respect. Because of this I think he’d go from “We have the same goal here, despite very different reasons, so lets be civil” to actually starting to care for her and have a moral crisis like most of the other mentors (and families).
The difficulty with Panlo and Sheaf is that we don’t see anything of them, really. We know Gaius Breen was a nice dude who always had a joke to brighten the mood, but given that he made prejudiced jokes about the districts he’s clearly just like everybody else in that city: nice to “their own” and horrible to the district people for reasons that are no longer justifiable (since the capitol has done far worse things than the rebels ever did by this point). Given that he is a nice dude I think he too could start giving a shit if given the time. Androcles… we know absolutely nothing about him, so we can make our own judgements and for the sake of the fix it I’ll say he’s less of a dick about the districts than Gaius. Not great, because capitol, but not as bad as he could be.
I hate Snow, but I think an important thing people miss is that he chose to be the way he is. Especially because people try to blame Lucy Gray for not loving him out of his ways, but those people seem to ignore that A) love will not magically fix mental health issues or bitch disease, both of which Snow suffers from, and B) Lucy Gray loved and trusted Coryo until the end of the story… after he confessed to killing Sejanus. He betrayed Sej, who he did seem to care for despite how much of an unreliable narrator he is, and shot Mayfair (for purely selfish reasons) even when Lucy Gray did what some people insist she should’ve kept doing. Snow going evil was a choice, one that became inevitable after he murdered Bobbin and took his own actions as confirmation of Gaul’s theory (which is a whole new level of failing the self-awareness check) and since that never happens here I’ll take the creative liberty to say that him having to show someone his living conditions and them not judging him is what pushes him over to becoming a better person. I really think having someone to talk to about his hardships would’ve done him a lot of good, and Lucy Gray lives in district 12 so I think if he’d talk to anyone about it it’s her.
Tigris is a queen. She becomes the tributes’ guardian angel? More likely than you think!
Sej and Marc reconciliation would be awesome and adorable that is 100% canon for this AU. I have thoughts on specifically Treech’s turbulent stay on Vipsania because I have many thoughts on their dynamic (both canon and not) but I’ve babbled on for too long already so I’ll cut it off for now unless you want me to type it out 😅
More TBOSAS fix-it food!! Instead of bombing the arena, the rebels bomb the capitol zoo while the tour is happening. Because throwing kids in a zoo enclosure is kind of fucked up actually, and it’s just as much a symbol of the capitol’s rampant dehumanization of the districts as the arena where the yearly underage death match takes place. Thanks to this, the kids obviously can’t be placed back in the zoo because, you know, it was destroyed. So what now? Well…
As I’ve stated in previous posts, I’m convinced the mentor program was an attempt at stopping the games in the long run that backfired horribly. Seeing that not enough progress is being made, dean Highbottom decides that the tributes should stay with their mentors. Peacekeepers will be around to make sure no funny business occurs, of course, but despite the outrage of some mentors (cough Livia cough) and all the mentors’ families the plan goes through. As much as I think the tributes dying was necessary to truly drive home the horror of the games for the mentors, it clearly didn’t work and the kids deserve to live so this is the next best thing.
At first, the tributes don’t have a good time, because the families they’re forced to stay with treat them like animals. Worse, actually, because most people don’t go out of their way to make things as unpleasant as possible for animals. However, it doesn’t take long for at least parts of the families to warm up to the tributes. Who stay jumpy and mistrustful and scared out of their damn minds because one wrong move means death, but hey they’ll live. The peacekeepers got a free hand to dish out whatever punishment they wanted so long as the family the kid’s staying with approves, which turns out to be in Highbottom’s plan’s favor because now capitol citizens get to see firsthand just how cruel and inhumane capitol punishment is in the districts. These families have private doctors too, so while at first the veterinarian responsible for the tributes is working overtime her work slowly diminishes. The mentors’ families are so influential that the initial denial of medical care is quickly retracted.
By the time the games are supposed to happen, the president has grown such a soft spot for Dill that he makes up an excuse to postpone them, and when the new date rolls around the tributes have spent enough time with people even outside of their mentor’s family that they’ve endeared themselves to all the important people in the capitol. The games weren’t popular anyways, so the president doesn’t feel a risk to his career when he cancels them.
I may post little tidbits of plot ideas I have floating in my head for this AU, but for now imagine Felix sitting in one of the massive living rooms in the presidential mansion, showing Dill some cool capitol stuff as she looks on with doe-eyes full of curiosity, while the president loses his mind in the background as he suffers a severe moral crisis.

Hey, so I really hope I'm not being annoying about this, but I just want to make sure my ask didn't get lost in the sauce with tumblrs wonky shit and my shitty signal. I had sent in a horny thought about Toji and Megumi, but you never responded. If what I sent wasn't your vibe, not interested, not taking requests (which it wasn't meant to be, I just don't know who else to talk to about my horny thoughts), or just plain didn't want to answer, that's totally ok. I just want to make sure it was actually received.
Again, I really hope I'm not being annoying with this and I really sorry if this is coming off as rude or disrespectful.
It was received! Yeah no tumblr didn't eat that one. I was going to get to it but I was feel meh on the Toji part (loved the Megumi part) so I was going to revisit it later that day. But alas my day went to shit which followed into the end of the week being emotional and draining and truthfully I haven't been able to touch anything in my inbox.
My drive to write smut is just....idk I'm struggling with some things rn emotionally and physically so this blog has been put on the back burner as of rn. Today was actually the first day I actively looked at it for any length of time.
So I do apologize the ask was 100% recieved. I'm just not in a shinning bright headspace at the moment. Which of course makes writing and maintaining this blog take a backseat. I'm very sorry! It was a good thirst and idea! I'm just not able to execute it at this moment in time.
#and you're totally fine its not rude at all!#the end of last week was....shitty#to say the least#its carried on into this week and its just been hard#my attention is turned to a different fandom too and im revisting my roots of world building and such#i use to write monsterous fics with enormous plots but stopped after my son was born#this is the first fandom ive felt the need to world build with so ive been kinda funneling my free time into that#its not smut blog/anime blog conducive so ive been on a different blog recently#again im super sorry for that#toji just...i have to be in the right mind for toji too#i personally find him incredibly ugly so hes not one i write for a lot#i do adore Megumi though and have lowkey missed him#i just don't have the mental ability to focus on smut rn#so i do apologize for that#three.talks#anon

I'd love to hear some of your thoughts about Nightmare Logic being a bad episode!
I'm trying to get better about answering asks/comments (ignore the terrifying creaking noises of my various overstuffed inboxes), so let me copy-paste some of my thoughts from that weekend on the pablum-shading-to-infuriating episode that is Nightmare Logic.
***
zmediaoutlet — 11/12/2018 Sam is not an idiot, and that sort of brings me to the whole problem with the episode for me: everything it's predicated on is either wrong or dumb. [7:43 AM] We don't care about Maggie at all, so balancing the whole thing on their worry for her is wildly thin; nu!Bobby holds about as much interest for me as wallpaper paste; the Mary/Bobby relationship is meh. I don't care about MotW 80% of the time, so spending so much time on the hunt itself doesn't work for me, especially when it's incoherent and also not remotely dangerous. [7:45 AM] So you've decided to do a new kind of djinn hunt, fine. Why is Mr Elaborate Nightmare Builder sending cartoonish versions of his first victim after strangers? Wasn't this advertised as a "woooorst niiiightmaaare" hunt? Okay, Maggie got something generic, fine, that fits her perfectly; why did Dean get the exact same thing? Why did Sam? Why did Daughter get a cartoon vampire, while Bobby got like a 10 point hit-you-over-the-head blunt nightmare scenario so we could learn backstory? And Mary got nothing at all, because I guess she was just there to provide support for her man? [7:47 AM] I'm not going to say the whole thing was horrible end to end--I did like the little convo between Mary and Sam in the woods because the awkwardness of it did feel naturalistic; I liked the mystery of whatever Dean's nightmares are 'hurting' (?) the djinn [tho see prev. paragraph again; how the hell did it get so detailed with Bobby with presumably minimal physical contact--ugh, whatever]. The writing was just so flawed in so many different ways, and in ways that would have been easy to fix had the writer bothered to put more than the bare minimum of thought into it. Like a lot of shitty fics, that way--"I had a neat idea! I'll just surge ahead on that one idea without bothering to support it at all." (The idea clearly being backstory for Bobby, and slopping on 37 more pointless minutes to fill time.)* [7:47 AM] I tried to see if I could get a refund on Amazon, but unfortunately no. [7:48 AM] Also, the one decent Sam-and-Dean scene was a rehash of old shit. Just to add insult to injury. [7:51 AM] but, per my "try not to dwell" philosophy, at least it is a good example of what not to do, as a writer. ...
*(I guess to be fair, point A is Bobby's backstory, but point B is 'somehow we're supposed to believe Sam is struggling with the leadership role, again'. Please stop going back to that well. It was dry when they tried to bring it up in s12, it's even drier now. Sam is good at this. They don't need to keep selling us on it.) If the goal with the episode was: a) they want us to learn Bobby's kinda boring backstory, b) see the Super Hunter Squad struggling with inexperience, and c) prove somehow that Sam wants to find Michael... even though this had nothing to do with Michael... ???... -- it was accomplished, in a way. in the same way that throwing a bucket of paint at a house is technically considered 'painting it' I don't think I'm gonna get turned around on this one, I'm still pissed that I paid money for it. It was bad in a different way to some of the other bad episodes, though, which is interesting to think about. Some of them are bad on execution--the Michael/Lucifer marionette parade comes to mind--whereas this one was bad from premise. Like LOTUS.
So, in rereading all that... yep, I still hate it, lol. It has some moments of brief competence -- a few scenes and moments that work -- but it's a great example of the things I hated most about the Dabb era, especially s14, to wit:
1) Sam and Dean should actually matter in an episode and arc and you're completely failing to make this show which is about them about them
2) where tf are the emotional consequences of anything, why did Michael not matter at all, jesus christ
3) please stop trying to convince me after the past 12ish years that Sam is stupid and incompetent.
and, for good measure, 4) who gives a fuck about beret Bobby???

Tangled Salt Marathon - Short Cuts
So the reviews for Rapunzel’s Return are taking longer then expected and due to real life complications I’ve now fallen behind in my intended schedule. So in order to catch up, I’ll be doing a series of rapid-fire mini reviews of all the official shorts that the series released in addition to the usual reviews.
Summary: Ten shorts were released throughout the three seasons of the show detailing Rapunzel’s misadventures in Corona.
Check Mate
Pascal tries to get Max to play chess with him, but the horse is too busy with guard duty to play. Pascal’s antics wind up causing a fire and Max must save him.
This short, plus the later Unicorn-y short, and the episode Pascal’s Story pretty much confirms that chess is pascal’s favorite game. Shame that’s the only idiosyncrasy that the series gives besides being the conscious of the group that sometimes gives the other characters guilty looks.
I said it before and I’ll say again, the animal sidekicks in the franchise don’t have enough personality to carry whole episodes by themselves, but shorts like this are ok and where things like this should have stayed.
Prison Bake
Attila recounts how he used his baking skills to break his fellow pub thugs out of prison back before they met Rapunzel.
This just raises so many questions. Why were they arrested? What was their punishment besides jail? Why weren’t they just re-arrested later after escaping? If they were all wanted criminals before meeting Raps then why did they try to call the guards during the movie to collect the reward money on Eugene’s head? Do we really think “crack-down on crime” Frederic would pardon them before Rapunzel’s return? How do we know they weren’t just framed given how shitty Corona’s legal system is?
Like I just need a tiny bit more context show. Two to three minutes isn’t really long enough to set up conflicts. These shorts should have been more like five or six minutes really.
Also Ludwig the Castle Cook is also just wasted. They built a model for him and hired a VA and everything and all he does is appear in this one short and nothing else. Like I think he makes a non-speaking cameo in The Alchemist Returns or something, but that’s it. It’s a clear mismanagement of resources.
Make Me Smile
Rapunzel tries unsuccessfully to make Old Lady Crowley smile, but it’s not until she holds an honest conversation with the woman does she find a solution.
This is best short out of the bunch, and not just cause it stars the great Pat Carol either.
This is how Rapunzel should have been handled in the main series proper. Which is why I screen-grabbed this whole convo. It’s perfect.
Rapunzel spent 18 years lock in a tower. Of course she doesn’t understand different perspectives from her own cause her development has been stunted. She’s compassionate but lacks empathy. So she has a hard time connecting with others, but once she slows down an actually takes the time to listen to people she is capable of learning.
We needed more of this; just on a larger scale. Have Raps make mistakes, have people be annoyed with her or right angry when she messes up, and then have her learn.
Why the series thought it was a good idea to have everyone kiss her royal arse instead while she dug in her heels and consendinly took charge of everything even while still screwing up, I’ll never know.
Hare Peace
Feldspar asks Rapunzel to take care of his “precious”. Rapunzel thinks he means a pet rabbit, and is run ragged trying to keep up with it, but it turns out he was talking about his prized cabbage instead.
These shorts overall work a lot better than the main show. They know what they are and don’t try to be anything else. Therefore they deliver what is promised competently. They’re nothing amazing nor groundbreaking and in truth I wouldn’t want a whole series of them, but I get the feeling this is what the head executives at Disney were expecting when they signed off on the show and not whatever mess the main series turned out to be.
Night Bite
Rapunzel, Eugene, and the animals are out camping for the night and Max gets irritated by all the bugs.
What doesn’t work so well is the placement of some of the shorts. This particular short aired during season two and indeed that would make sense given that they are camping out here. Which why would they do that if they were still in Corona...
Yet some of the later shorts, which also aired during season two, clearly do take place in Corona debunking that theory. Just some context would be nice show, that’s all.
Also this short is meh.. not bad, not, good, just there.
Hiccup Fever
Rapunzel gets the hiccups and everyone in Corona seems to have advice on how to get rid of them, but only Eugene has the solution.
I’d argue that this is the funniest of the shorts. I legit laughed out loud at some points which is rare.
However it does sadly prove on thing.
Rapunzel was always a shit girlfriend, even before season three.
Being a douche to your boyfriend isn’t funny show.
Snowball
Rapunzel and Pascal plan to have some fun in the snow and things go awry.
So where and when is this exactly?
Unlike the other shorts, the context and setting for this one is paramount to whether or not Rapunzel is a simply lazy or a an outright dick.
For you see, Rapunzel had never been outside in the show before Queen for a Day. Ergo, this can only take place during the latter half of season one or during season two.
Now season two makes a lot of sense. They’re at some cabin in the woods that was never mentioned are seen on screen before and this did air during season two anyways. If that is the case then Raps just avoiding her planned road trip like always.
However, the last short and the next two also aired during season two and all of those do take place in Corona during season one and even the wiki states that they were all meant to take place during season one in original concept.
Yet if that is the case then Rapunzel is ignoring Varian right now and playing around in the thing that almost killed him...
Oh and that still doesn’t explain where this cabin is. Is it the mountain retreat that the King and Queen were going to spend their anniversary at?
What’s really mind boggling though is that they made this short in order to reuse the character models from Queen for a Day in order to save money, but then went and built this whole set that’s never seen outside of this short.
Like seriously who was on charge of the budget decisions in the series?
Hairdon't
Rapunzel offers to cut Eugene’s hair but then messes it up. She spends all day trying to stop Eugene from seeing his new do, but turns out the hairstyle becomes a hit with the Corona townspeople.
Rapunzel seriously lucked out here and it borderlines on the main series style levels of BS. She asks Eugene not to get upset before he sees what she’s done and, guess what, he is rightly upset.
Honestly the series needed to let Eugene get angry at Rapunzel for stuff. That’s what happens in relationships, you will make your partner mad at times and that’s ok. It’s all about how both of you handle that.
We never get to see how Eugene and Rapunzel would handle a real ordinary conflict and not just magic/ex girlfriend shenanigans that don't end with them putting off talking about it.
Even their best episodes in season two still are over conflicts that don’t have any immediate impact on their lives and are mostly hypotheticals to them, like kids or how other people should approach dating. And of course by season three Eugene is just reduced to a doormat.
Unicorn-y
Rapunzel tries to help Vladimir find his missing prized unicorn figurine in this spoof of old detective movies. Turns out Max and Pascal had found it and were using it to play chess.
Ok, first off, Eugene has the patience of a saint and deserves so much better than Raps and her bullcrap here. Same goes for Lance who is tied up as well during this scene.
But also this is another short that needed to be more than three mins long. The “mystery” is over before it even starts and the film noir parody only barely has time register in the viewer’s mind and then it’s over with.
Shorty’s Theme Song Takeover!
The last of the shorts aired after the show had ended as part of the Disney Channel’s on going promotional gimmick “Theme Song Takeover!”
Shorty finds Rapunzel’s journal and sings his own version of the show’s theme song, “Wind in my Beard”.
It’s ok.
All of Disney’s animated shows for the 2019/2020 line up has done one and some are funnier than than this and others not so. The Shorty one is pretty middle ground but what makes it work is that Rapunzel is completely oblivious to what’s going on and only Shorty, always the anomaly of the series, can perceive the fourth wall. Thus proving he was never really human.
As for placement, we know it’s season three cause of Rapunzel’s dress and they’re mostly likely inside the Snuggly Duckling right now. So just slot it in wherever you see fit.
Conclusion
That’s it for the shorts. The rest of Rapunzel’s Return should be up later this week and then hopefully I’ll be all caught up in time to cover the next episode next week.

LoSH S2 discussion
I love Legion of Superheroes. And i love season 2, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think about how it could have been improved. In terms of quality, it varies more than season 1. Some parts are top tier while others… eh.
Season 2 is darker than season 1. And there’s the inherent stigmatism that darker means better. But it’s not true.
A horror schlock film is not inherently better than an animated film.
I don’t blame the staff on all its shortcomings. Kids WB was on its deathbed, so they probably had less time to work and iron out ideas. And executive meddling.
The second season had a lot of good elements, but there are things that weighed it down. I am here to discuss how to improve said things.
Heads up: ended up editing part of this post after rewatching the episodes.
This first bit is more of a personal preference, but instead of the 41st century, maybe move the original source of conflict to a farther region of space, one that the UP doesn’t interact with, and has been growing in terms of turmoil until they finally resort to bringing the Legion over. In other words, it has just been put aside by everyone else to the last minute.
Parallel to Brainy’s relationship to Brainiac. He doesn’t want to deal with it. He never brings it up. But maybe if he did, he wouldn’t have gotten corrupted.
This place still has plenty of old documentation of the original age of superman, so Kell is disillusioned with the ideal glory days. Keep Kell Edgy.
Kell’s home and K3NT still gets destroyed - reflects Krypton’s own destruction.
SPEAKING OF KELL:
Make his story more apparent that it’s one realizing that kindness is not an inherent weakness. And neither is being soft. He was raised for fighting and killing Imperiex, and was taught to think that they were weaknesses. Have him realize his identity can be beyond the Clone of Superman made to kill Imperiex. Or rather, have him react more to realizing that he’s moving beyond his given identity.
To clarify; they do address his development in the show a few times, but I want more continuous development instead of the rapid nods we get. Have him try to interact in a more humane way with others. Especially with other members of the Legion. Where they have to take a double take in seeing him acting not that edgy. Maybe offer more flashback of him fighting Imperiex in comparison, and how he treated allies then.
Also put K3NT’s story under the microscope. I doubt Imperiex just came out of nowhere with his attacks. Plus the fact they went far enough to send a hitman after a fucking child? That screams yikes and maybe we need to double check the story.
And an overall issue to be addressed is what rights do robots have and what conditions need to be met? Because let’s face it, we make robots to do complex work for us. But Colu is a culture where the main people ARE robots. Like in Transformers. What line do we draw between non-sentient robots vs the sentient ones in the 31st century? And what about cyborgs/people who give up their original bodies for robotic ones?
Plus Imperiex himself came to be because of the perfected combination of organic tissue and robotics. This topic of robots and individuality/personhood could have been a fun topic to explore.
Don’t sideline the girls. Leave TG alone.
Don’t put SG in a coma for nearly the whole season - seriously it’s the reason why the guys make one bad decision after the other. Although with that said, it’s because she’s not around we got the majority of s2 plots. She’s the goddamn mom of the squad. Just make her busier and unable to keep an eye on her idiot boys for the plots based on bad decisions to happen.
Or have her deal with after-effects of what Esper did to her. Maybe after a whole season of being the emotional support character, have her be the one in need of emotional support or not being able to help directly, especially when the group needs emotional support. Emotional support paradox.
Maybe don’t make Cosmic Boy appear as much as a dick in the episodes where he does show up. He’s trying to hold this goddamn team together, and there’s a goddamn tyrant trying to conquer the galaxy. HE’S FUCKING TIRED AND STRESSED. AND IM SURE THERE ARE A BUNCH OF JERKS WHO WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT TO DISSOLVE THE LEGION. Better yet, throw in some more backstory with him and his little brother Pol!
And in regards to Imperiex… The dude has a lot of potential. I like his voice actor, Phil Morris. The guy voiced Dr. Sweets from Atlantis.
But his writing needs help.
In the original DC comics, he’s the embodiment of Entropy. Anyone who’s seen Madoka is probably familiar with what that is. But if you're not, here’s a definition: “ the measure of a system’s thermal energy per unit temperature that is unavailable for doing useful work...” He’s the embodiment of that energy that cannot be used for anything. And Entropy grows over time.
Another definition of what Entropy is “lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder.”
In the comics, he’s more of a cosmic being as a result of him being an embodiment of unusable energy. He’s been in existence since, well, the beginning. He had destroyed the universe and recreated it multiple times. Okay, so that lines up with how the show portrays him. And technically, he does get the universe to reset itself in the 41st century when he alters the 31st century enough.
But I personally feel that making him a cosmic being is kinda… meh?
I personally prefer more personal villains most of the time. Don’t get me wrong, an Eldritch being done right makes a great character, but I can’t see Imperiex as one. At least not LoSH’s version.
Plus I like it when the protagonist sees the villain has a point and has changed as a result for the better.
You know, over a year ago, I used to think that it was impossible to make a tyrannical villain who’s presented as real evil seem complex.
And then… I was introduced to TFP Megatron.
Now for you LoSH fans who haven’t watched Transformers Prime, Megatron was once Megatronus. A low caste member who worked in the mines and Gladiator games. He wanted to fix the growing corruption of Cybertron. To make things better.
But his worse personality traits took over, and he lost that good motivation. Now he’s just fighting to win and defeat Optimus Prime.
But despite the change of goals and ideals, he doesn’t want to simply abandon his relationship with Optimus. He and Optimus, or as he used to be called, Orion, were fighting for the betterment of society. And they meant something to each other. Megatron doesn’t want to just get it over with. He wants fanfare for his victory over Optimus. And he doesn’t want anyone else to rob him off that. But he isn’t opposed to getting Optimus/Orion back on his side. It’s because of this you can still argue that there is a remaining shred of good in him.
They were the best young lovers anD NO I AM NOT CRYING OVER THEM!
Also, the fact we know he was part of a minority group in the form of the lower cast that was enslaved can make us sympathize with Megatronus of the past, as well as understand how he came to be.
It doesn’t mean we forgive him for his actions - and he has done a lot of shitty things. And I mean a lot.
But his history is more understandable. TFP Megatron’s a fall from grace.
OK I’m done dissecting TFP Meg’s writing.
We know Imperiex was a slave, and was originally organic, who’s from a society where his purpose is literally just to fight, and was gradually stripped of his original body. He was originally stripped of any agency before then though.
But he says this was a good thing. Calling his original body a weakness. And refers to his old self as a pathetic slave.
He gave up whatever softness he had.
Also, this is where K3NT’s story needs to be reexamined. Imperiex was made during what K3NT described as “A Time of Extended Prosperity”. That time had freaking slaves. And K3NT says that when Imperiex did rise up, they were unprepared. So… they were prosperous, but lacked defense to prevent anything like that happening? Or perhaps those who were in charge were that unpopular that it was easy for Imperiex to start the war.
What made him decide conquering the galaxy was the next thing to do after he had every bit of his original self stripped away? Why go as far as destroy it?
What I’m trying to say is that they could borrow a few pages from the Megatron book. Maybe he was once trying to better the society he was part of, but he decides to play the violent card at some point. And somewhere along that strategy, he starts to lose sight of the initial goal. With that, being the victor and in control becomes the main one.
Or perhaps he has grown cynical of the galaxy as it is and decides it just needs to go all together, and then start from scratch.
Like the second definition of Entropy, he gradually declines in predictability and descends into disorder.
Maybe to juxtaposition the fact that Brainiac became the main threat at the end, make him the opposite or foil to him. Rationality or logic do not serve as first-or-second influences to decisions under pressure. Emotions and his own perceived ideas do.
Speaking of Brainiac, maybe offer more of the OG Brainiac. Give us more of that smooth-voiced Corey Burton.
Or TFA Megatron.
Seductive Bastard.
I’m sorry I have fallen for the shady-business-mafia-boss-but-morally-grey robot.
Also, the members of the legion that only get one episode focus? Give them more screen time. You can’t just introduce superman’s new adopted son Karate Kid and just not bring him for another speaking role again!
Actually, that brings me to another point.
As @spandexinspace pointed out, his episode is not the best, and is arguably the worst written of the whole series. Things that are issues do get brushed off to the side.
So a proposal on potential rewrite:
First, have the legion look over its current rules and what exceptions/changes they need to make.
Explore the subject of kids having to participate in these fights.
To clarify, kid shows are meant to be escapism for kids.
Shocking, I know.
So it makes sense that some characters would be the same age as the viewers.
But while this is good representation, as you get older, you find yourself going “WHY WOULD THE ADULTS LET THEM ENDANGER THEMSELVES?!”
Kids having to fight at that age does have consequences. Batman Beyond certainly addressed it. So did Steven Universe Future.
Steven ended up being responsible for so much, that when he no longer needed to take care of things, he was unsure of who he was. And then there’s the fact he ended up with PTSD because of him having to fight so much. Then you have the fact that Greg and Rose never intended to raise him like their caretakers did... but as good as their intentions were, they still caused damage. Rose for… all the gem stuff. And look, Greg is a great dad, but not enforcing anything for Steven when he’s growing up still has it’s cost.
With Batman, he’s obviously going to do his damn best to keep kids safe, including the Robins. But sometimes, it’s not enough. He wasn’t able to keep Tim safe in the event with the Joker in Batman Beyond. Where he was held captive and tortured.
But the Batkids are never expected to resolve this stuff by themselves. Because Batman knows how much you can get screwed up as a kid. He fucking cares.
And to be fair, in most continuities I’m aware of, the other sidekicks came out pretty okay overall.
Except Jason Todd.
So my proposal?
Have Val originally with Grimbor, as a sort of Protege. But have the legion capture him, only to go “uhhh this is a child with no powers”. And Superman, being the good, wholesome paragon we all love, takes him under his wing.
In all honesty, I want Superman pulling a batdad for Karate Kid in his intro episode the whole time. That was the best part of the episode for me.
Plus after the events of “Cry Wolf”, the Legion should examine the no-killing rule. Because they do need to kill Imperiex to save the universe. But that goes against the code. But they can argue it’s a necessity. But Mar Londo is also a monster. He’s the everyday monster some of us have grown up with.
When do you need to make exceptions to kill someone?
And my final main suggestion:
Add more Mekt.
What the heck were you guys expecting? You all KNOW me by now. I LOVE MY GARBAGE BOY.
Joking aside, here’s what I would do.
Have the Chained Lightning episode pushed back, but have Mekt with Imperiex earlier. Most of us would yell “Why the heck would you join the guy whose main goal is to destroy the galaxy?!” But this is one of the easiest things to address.
Explore more of his past. Use the comic sources with him being outcast for being a solo on Winath. With that in mind, him deciding to side with Imperiex can make sense.
Why try protecting something that has done nothing but hurt you?
There’s actually a pretty good reason why he would side with Imperiex, as seen in Champions and Lightning Storm. Remember, Mekt was willing to cheat to get ahead of the sports competition he was introduced in. And also was thrilled when fighting Garth and was beating him on his own. He likes being in power.
Imperiex offers him that.
As for why Imperiex would bother with Mekt? That’s a little harder to answer. He knows that Mekt has a soft spot for his brother, and in turn sister, which proves to be the reason why the Tachyon Cannon fails. You’d think Imperiex would remove a huge fatality.
But he doesn’t.
Maybe he could hold another type of value for Mekt. Perhaps... nostalgia?
I’m still sold on the idea that they were sleeping together.
Also, give us a conclusive answer on where Mekt stands with the LSV. In the comics, he was the leader, but that role was given to Tyr in the cartoon more or less.
OK I think this has been polished enough for me to post now. What you guys think? Feel free to add on!

Unpopular opinion, aperantly, but I dislike Sam... I'm not quite sure what it is about her but I don't like her even when I tried after rewatching the show... nd it goes without saying but I don't think she goes well with Danny. Sure people can say "oh yeah Danny and Valerie!" But ... that didn't feel right to me either. I just feel like the right partner for Danny wasn't in the show and I feel like Sam was just a meh character with a few good moments...
Oh boy. This is the ask that’s gonna get em in trouble isn’t it? I knew there’d be at least one asjkls. Very unpopular opinion time. So, with the conviction only a man condemned to death can muster, I agree with you. THAT BEING SAID, before any stans come to chop my dick off, I don’t think her premise was bad at all. I just think she got loaded up with Butch’s shitty ideas about what makes a “strong female character.” She flip flops wildly between acting like a feminist to hating all the other women around her. Or from being the most competent character in the show to being damseled every other episode. In all honesty, I hate Butch’s poor creative decisions more than the character herself, but in universe she does come off as annoying to me, yes.
Also I agree, her and Danny did lack on screen chemistry. I hate it when a plot feels the need to shoe horn the main girl and guy together with no acknowledgement whether or not they work well together. I think S/D’s biggest drawback was that every one-on-one on screen interaction between the two was solely shippy in nature. It’s like the authors assumed you’d already think they were getting together and just skipped to the flirting. Its annoying. I hate how the main female character became a side piece. It annoys me to no end. I also like the Ace!Danny headcannon so I approve when he doesn’t get a main love interest lol.
TO CLARIFY: This is a complaint solely to canon Sam. I love all the little changes and character arcs fan works have her grow through and she’s often one of my favorites *in fanon* I love when she’s the kickass, trash-talking, feminist goth icon she was meant to be and not whatever the fuck canon was doing with her. So... yeah, guess I’ll practice laying my head on the chopping block sexily Katherine Howard style for the public execution I’m about to get lmaoooo

just finished wonder woman 1984 lay ur thoughts on me >:)
ugh so I felt like it was so messy?
hated:
I was super confused about how the wishing crystal worked. Like i understand the basic principles of how the person who wishes has to give something up but I have no idea how Max was able to hack it and use the wishes for himself.
The way Barbara’s turning to the dark side was tied to her being sexually harassed and assaulted like ... that’s just self defense.
The way Steve idk possessed some random dude’s body and proceeded to fuck Diana? So like the possessed dude couldn’t really consent that’s just really sketchy ...
(I was super super confused about what happened here and somehow missed that she’d even wished him into existence in the first place so I thought someone else had deliberately wished Steve in to have her idk distracted or something)
Max’s origin story was really ehhh to me. He’s a poor latinx guy who had an abusive father and he wanted to be a successful businessman. That’s fine. I felt like the distinction wasn’t made between wanting to have a better life and actual greed. He wasn’t greedy before he found the wishing crystal thing, he just wasn’t a good businessman. And then all the sudden when everything is in reach he asks for everything. (I realize that part of the tradeoff with the wishing crystal is the rage and wanting more wishes to be granted but they did a better job of explaining this with Barbara than they did with Max.)
The plot with his son was extremely messy too. I was able to predict somewhat how the movie would end but me not really understanding how the wishing actually worked meant I didn’t understand how the curse was lifted either. Also that is a fuck ton of expectations to have from a child! Like hello, children shouldn’t have to carry the weight of their parents guilt. I get what they were trying to do but also I feel like it was badly executed. Max wants to be a good father (because he didn’t have one) and wants to create a firm foundation (monetary that is) for his son, but his son just wants to hang out with his dad.
(ALSO WHERE THE FUCK WAS THE KID’S MOTHER WHEN ALL THE SHIT WAS GOING DOWN? Wouldn’t she be at least calling her ex husband to ask if her kid’s okay? At the very least??? If not bulldozing her way through Washington DC because she can’t find her son?)
didn’t like:
How Diana helped out Barbara when she was being harassed on the street but then FUCKING ABANDONED HER IN THE DARK AT NIGHT NO WHERE NEAR HER APARTMENT OR ANYWHERE SAFE
The Amazons didn’t have enough screen time
meh:
That cheetah morph. ‘I want to be ... an apex predator.” is a really powerful line and I get that her cheetah-ness would look kind of shitty if she’s mid transformation but at one point it just looked like lines had been drawn on her face with eyeliner pencil
liked:
Young Diana being scolded for cheating in the Amazon games at the beginning of the movie. I feel like a lot of kids media doesn’t really drive home that a person can win by cheating but that doesn’t make it an honest win.
loved:
That mid credits cameo and those cool golden wings
cried when:
Diana and Steven saying goodbye to each other like THAT SHIT HURT
crack-ish:
I feel like Max/Barbara actually has some weight as a ship
--
Basically I was very confused 80% of the time watching this movie.
