to me the most infuriating thing about random ban waves is that they cause there to suddenly be a new annoying person showing up my dash and it takes me like 3 days to find out that ohhhh that's the new account for someone I blocked ages ago for being annoying! and they've apparently only gotten more annoying since, yikes. And it's like, honestly I've blocked enough people that I only ever hear about these bans third hand at best, much like I hear about fallouts through 4th hand reports.

even worse when it causes some stupid overlong whine post from such a person to get reposted as some busted ass low quality jpeg with imploring to be spread like wildfire. because truly the people need to hear about this for some fucking reason.

and like honestly it's sometimes just really funny when it happens, the bans? Some of these I've seen were people who tried and failed to doxx all of staff to prove everyone in Tumblr staff was a diehard Harry potter fan (real heads know there's exactly one of those on staff and theyre someone who has openly denounced jkr in their circles fwiw).

Some of these are people who just don't seem to understand that what they're getting banned for is being actively unpleasant and aggressive - you see this especially with the vast swathe of frequently banned rightwingers - often seeming to be in a permanent reporting war carried out by and against them.

And it's like across all of these a lot of these people like to say shit like "I wish we had forums again" or I wish I got to use the old internet". And it's like we'll be careful what you wish for cuz you're living it and apparently hating it.

He doesn’t like the feeling in his stomach, but he’ll ride them if Seb gives him the puppy dog look. Anzu is the type that rides them with a blank face. Every single picture from a ride is just her staring blankly at the camera.

And Painter also loves rollercoasters but the kiddie rides are his favorite because they’re so colorful!!

So, I watched camo cretaceous when it aired in 2020 but, like, my sisters found it and started to watch it I joined at the end of c3 S1, so I wasn't that into it, but I watched all again when S2 came out then I was very into it for S3. 1.the character everyone gets wrong:

Nancy Wheeler. In fic, she's either an ex lover but good friend to Steve (and it's almost never awkward for the two of them) or she's a raging bitch. And I get it. She's a "secondary" character in the types of fic I read (typically steddie). But I really think she deserves more care and consideration. She's not a great person, but she's got awesome qualities. I'd just really like to see more nuance in Nancy when she's written in fic as a key secondary character. She doesn't need to be a cardboard prop.

3.screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr

I don't have any screenshots, and I don't typically interact in any fandom Discourse after literal years of the same ole themes popping up. But the worst take I generally see in fandom culture are the asshats who are violently in your face about moral high ground when it comes to hating a certain character (especially fictional characters—I can lend some leeway for fandoms built on RPF whose faves end up doing terrible shit IRL...but that's a whole different topic and even then I'm Live and Let Live these days). I don't care if someone else thinks writing a character I like/find interesting is a piece of shit, but don't throw it in my face by coming into my space to shit all over what makes me happy.

20. part of canon you found tedious or boring:

Hubs, who is not a fan of ST, but was in the room when I binge-watched season 4 for the first time will attest to the fact that I couldn't care less about Hopper in Russia or El recovering her powers and confronting One (I did watch and teared up during the scene when El killed Papa). I literally fast-forwarded through all those storylines. Hubs was baffled and annoyed by this as he had been tangentially paying attention 😈And this was BEFORE I was shipping Steve and Eddie. I have always been more into the kids figuring out and fighting the Upside Down than the rest of canon events.

I call this series a success because of all the support I got 💕 there’s no problem taking joy in weirdly specific interests that give you comfort… this fandom has done nothing inherently worse than other fandoms except distracting me from my college assignments. Y’all really do make my day a special one. This is a love letter to prove that! Latest chapters have been BORING. We know Star wont defeat afo cuz of course so its really annoying that so many chapters are being dedicated to the fight. We dont know shit about Star and afo has rapidly been losing my intrest so its just like watching two action figures clash while also knowing how this is inventibly going to end cuz it would make no sense for a newly introduced chara to defeat the big bad. If this was a half a chapter to chapter it would have been fine but its been several chapters so far n its so annoying to read something u give so little fucks about cuz ur hoping characters u DO care about will eventually show up again. This just seems like hori binged a bunch of marvel movies or smtng

Adding on to that....isnt Stars intro v similar to Lady Nagants? Like we randomlyget introduced to these two female characters we havent heard a thing about up until that exact moment, who seem to have a significant connection to an already estsblished character but it turns out that connection is flimsy at best. They fight an already established character, lose and are nuked off probably never to be mentioned again.

I get that Hori is trying to show that afo is an international threat now but wasnt there a better way, couldnt he have established star sooner? Like all mights bedn doing fuck all how hard would it have been to throw in a scene of him talking to her on the phone here n there? Just so we can know she Exists before her big finale lmao

Idk...u here about big shonen manga crashing n burning at their end but its sad to see it happen n bnha is sadly inching towards being completely unenjoyable with each chapter. By now im almost hoping Hori will put it out of his misery fast if this is all we can hope for quality wise feom incoming chapters

I can't believe the drop in quality in the manga. Stars and Stripe was a bigger mistake than Lady Nagant at this point and now that I've seen from the new leaks, I'm left hating this character more and more. Stars and Stripes wasn't needed.

There has been no reason for this battle whatsoever and yes, I'm taking into account the new leaks which, if you haven't seen them yet, I'll put them below a readmore:

My question is why Hori had to introduce a random character we have not attachment to do this. Surely, if he wanted this grand moment where someone lives on beyond death and shakes AFO, it would be a member of the ESTABLISHED CAST that we have grown to love, not some random woman from America he introduced 4 CHAPTERS AGO.

You're right Hori could have shown AFO as being an internation threat and one of the simplist ways would have been AFO having a villain uprising in multiple countries. You know, he's said to have an underground empire, nothing says Japan will be on it's own when you have other countries fighting tooth and nail to keep villains in control in their nations and can't spare any help to Japan. There you go. Done. It was as simple as that and wouldn't have wasted 4 fucking chapters on a character we do not give a single shit about.

At this point I’m getting kind of defensive about Edelgard but like, from her stans. Because I really like that she’s an ideologically motivated female villain, those are pretty rare. I like her being this badass cool girl with a dorky side and some of those moments work for me. The more I dig into it the more I love the theming of her becoming what she claims to fight, a false goddess. Stop taking her agency away assholes, enjoy watching a girlboss winning.

(There was another ask about Edelstans hating Edelgard that Tumblr fucked up and erased, mentionin' it here cuz these two are similar)

It's like her stans don't realize why she makes for a (potentially) compelling character. Villains are celebrated because of the idea of chasing after what you want at the expense of those around you being something people want to vicariously experience in lieu of doing the shitty things themselves, or they wanna see how a character can devolve so far from their beginnings and ideals, or how they can roundabout back around to becoming the thing they said they wouldn't like you said - there's so much more I'm not even mentioning for why a villain like Edelgard can be exciting to watch!

Like, the best example of a villain who's evil as shit that I can respect as a villain is Medusa from Soul Eater, specifically her manga rendition. To not spoil anything, that woman goes to such far reaching, morally reprehensible lengths to achieve her goals, up to and including fucking herself over to have a better chance of realizing her ambition, and damn does it make her a sight to watch! Even my sis, who haaaates her, can respect her as a villain, because she makes a damn good villain.

Edelgard can (again, potentially) inspire similar feelings (specifically her AM rendition does this particularly well), but the way her stans speak of her she's just this wet blanket who's pushed around by everyone around her to make her do just about any of what she does, and that's so boring. They tote her as this strong woman while simultaneously dragging her down to poor lass that needs to be ~softened~ by the player character to see her true potential, when that's not true. Edelgard with Byleth is Edelgard at her worst as a character, specifically because Byleth is used as an outlet to woobify Edelgard into this baby back bitch who needs Teacher around to fight, when she's perfectly capable of fighting without Byleth by her side.

It'd be one thing if the ~softening~ of Edelgard was an arc of her going "Being with you has made me realize that my methods and decisions were too self-centered, I was being too self-important with my dreams, I was uncaring of those under me, and I hope that you will stay with me as I try to make amends of my actions". Who fucking cares if it'd be "too similar" to Dimitri's arc, there's an inherent difference between the two in that Edelgard does infinitely worse shit with a far clearer mind than Dimitri does, which gives it an entirely different feel. But no, her ~softening~ is her being scared of rats and dwawing Teacher uwu no look!! It's so superficial and fake, especially when you compare it to (in descending order) Dimitri's, Claude's, and even Rhea's (the one with the least screentime by far) arcs where you can genuinely feel them change and grow in their characters.

When you look at Edelgard's route as something positive like stans want to, when you try to fit it into this "no she's not a villain at all" suit, there's a clear difference in quality when it comes to the character arcs of the four of them, and Edelgard is the cheap bootleg you bought from a sus site that came in a ziplock bag and had a funny scent when you opened it.

It really, really pisses me off when people steal work from other writers. You are not a writer if you steal from other people. It took you moments to steal something from another writer that could've taken them anywhere from hours to weeks to years to write. I don't think a lot of people who aren't creators of creative content (art, writing, gifs, etc) truly understand how devasting, disheartening and infuriating it is to have your work stolen. Not to mention traumatic.

I speak from experience. I tried to make a webseries years back, got the pilot shot and everything and then the editor held my work hostage because he wanted it for himself (wanted to add and cut what he wanted) and me being green had shared all my scripts with him. I had to go to a solicitor and threaten him with legal action. Thankfully, I had got him to sign a contract. It was one of the most traumatic experiences I have ever been through. I couldn't even go through with filming the rest of the series, something I was so in love with before. I am overly cautious about sharing now and still haven't worked up the courage to post on here (with over 50 fics over 2yrs) since the youngm*neymill fiasco.

I am so sorry this happened to you. It may seem trivial to some who want to defend their faves or friends because it's "just fanfiction" but it's YOUR words. YOUR hours. YOUR effort. It's YOURS. And no one should feel entitled to even lift a sentence of it. FUCK THEM THIEVES. They are cowards. They could've asked for help, asked for pointers, confided in someone about their insecurities, taken a break, read a book, done a hundred other things to improve their own writing. To me, folks do that stuff for attention. They think they deserve the accolades or praise they see others getting and want to skip the process to get to the cream without struggle or effort and I truly hate that for them.

Sorry for the rant but this is triggering. You have produced swaths of quality work and you shouldn't have to worry that posting will make you vulnerable to such a gross violation. It sucks the fun out of everything.

Second, thanks so much for the kind words. I was and still am pretty goddamn offended. Like… she tagged me in the freakin fic… the audacity that takes bro sksksjs then, when I confronted her and showed her screen shots of the shit she lifted from me, she lied to my freakin face about it. Literally told me that she started her fic before I posted mine… but yet had the exact same intro/set up/characters/lines/warnings/premise as my fic did… that I posted a year ago… And then she posted a fic the day after I confronted her lmaooo as if our entire conversation never happened. As if she hadn’t already plagiarized 3 fics from myself and someone else and had been confronted by both of us (all within like a month, by the way)

I mean… I guess content creators kinda do sign this invisible contract with the internet when we post publicly, cuz any and everybody can then copy and paste our stuff and put their name on it because it’s out there in the void. I just thought more people would have some freakin integrity and wouldn’t want to ruin the one thing we find pleasure in, which is fandom. And sure, I’ve blocked buckybarnesplumwhore and her main blog, but because tumblr is a joke, she can still log on to desktop and see my blog and fics unfiltered. So yeah, i just feel really blah about writing and posting right now, and that sucks cuz she’s still just posting away as if this never happened.
