You’re finishing work with your iced coffee in hand, the shift draining the life out of you but what can you do? Work is work, right? At least you had your iced coffee—

Someone bumps into you on your way out of the coffee shop before you can even take the first sip, effectively knocking it out of your hand and all over the ground. Well.

You were either going to yell or cry, eyes shooting up to see the culprit’s eyes widen almost comically and the handsome face they belonged to begin to stutter out a hundred apologies, hands hovering concernedly. You felt the fight leave you as you took in the man’s genuine apology but that meant you were probably visibly tearing up, pulling several “oh no”s in a funny accent from the man still standing in front of you. Steven offered you his name, and promised to buy you a new drink if only you stopped looking so sad, and that was truly very sorry.

You let Steven buy you a new coffee, and after seeing how genuine and kind he was in his mannerisms, you decided to take his offer to sit and chat for a while, getting to know the cute new tour guide in town. He had just landed a new job at the museum you had been meaning to check out in the city and he jumped at the chance to give you a personal tour. The two of you lost track of time, Steven’s awkward jokes making you more comfortable than you would’ve given him credit for, and you felt yourself at ease around him, easily agreeing to see him again. Plus, it’s not like you could say no to those beautiful brown eyes staring at you like that.

Several weeks go by and you find yourselves stealing moments around each other’s lives; you popping in to hear the tail end of Steven’s tours and making him blush under your gaze and him joining you for lunch at your restaurant, shyly waving at you from the hostess desk. In the beginning of your relationship, Steven was too shy to initiate any type of physical intimacy, not knowing what your personal boundaries were and he didn’t want to cross any… until you pulled him behind a statue after one of his tours to show him just how much you loved listening to him speak.

He soon learned that you lit up when he bought you snacks, and noticed the same light in your eyes when you shared a meal together. He began incorporating more ‘food time’ as he called it during the time you spent together, looking for fun new restaurants for you to try together in the city. In return, you learned to make some new vegan recipes for when he’d sleep over and needed to take lunch to work.

Speaking of sleepovers, Steven always woke up with your hair in his mouth but he never complained. Too many nights spent alone, he was so happy to be waking up next to his pretty girlfriend, hair in his mouth and all. Cooking breakfast together was one of his favourite things about your nights together, and he would always play music from the several playlists you had made him. He loved seeing you sing along under your breath to the songs, swaying your hips gently around the kitchen with his chin on your shoulder watching your movements.

Yeah. He could get used to this city.

Appearance: Has red fluffy hair that falls to his waist. Half of it is put into a neat bun. He also has a black army hat, with the word “KILL” in kanji embroidered on the front and centre. The man has bangs that hide his burn scars and missing left eyeball. His mouth is exposed. He has a mechanical right arm and padding for it. The uniform’s sleeve is cut off for the right side and the other side is the usual long sleeves. He has a haori that kinda just like… drapes on his left shoulder until his upper torso.

Personality: He’s often quiet and doesn’t talk often. Fireworks and any other loud noises get him all angry and raged (which fuels him for battle, hence why he uses guns). Although, he has a certain soft spot for people he likes. Akito used to serve in the Japanese army for a while before turning to demon slaying. 

Weapons: Big. Freaking. Arm. Gun. The man uses his mechanical arm for battle, being able to exchange the gun attachment to any other bigger or smaller gun. He can also do hand to hand combat is he wanted to.

Hobbies: He enjoys playing musical instruments as well as just… chilling on the porch and drinking tea.

You'd made a day out of a beach trip when you finally had a bit of time away, and as such, the two of you were with Zoya, Nikolai, David, Tolya, Tamar, and Nadia on a private beach during the late summer. You were relaxing after you and Genya had swam for a good two hours, laughing and joking and getting into splash fights against Nikolai and Zoya, your mind ready to focus on your girlfriend and the book you'd brought along.

The silence that enveloped the two of you for the next few hours was comfortable, Genya dozing at one point and you laughing before pressing a kiss to her forehead when you realized.

When she woke, she grinned against your shoulder. "Decent day?"

Santi backs off and gestures for you to go ahead with an awkward shuffle of his feet and a smile that makes your stomach swoop, and you can’t help but want to know more about the stunning man in front of you with the same taste in abnormal snacks as you. You get to talking and end up standing in the aisle for 15 minutes before either of you think of getting the other’s number.

One thing leads to another, and you’re seeing Santi on the regular, movie nights at his place are your favourite low key date night. He tries to learn everything there is to know about you to be able to be closer to you, buys you your go to drinks and keeps them for whenever you want to stop by, cleans more regularly now that he knows there’s a possibility of you coming over and knows the mess bothers you. He even buys the specific brand of pads you prefer and keeps them in his bathroom for you.

Eventually you meet his friends, immediately getting along with Benny and joining him in teasing his brother, Will, and seeing you vibing with his friends makes Santiago’s heart soar. He realizes he loves you, loves how much of an effort you make with him and his chosen family, he loves how you listen patiently to him when he struggles to form the words he wants to say to communicate better, and he especially loves how much you smile on a daily basis. You kind of fell in love the moment you met in the grocery aisle but you’ve been waiting for him to say it first, and he does, when he takes you home that night 🥰

Okay I didn’t mean to accidentally come up with a new headcanon but I did. I think Franziska actually grows to care about Phoenix, considering he is her brother’s significant other and her girlfriend’s basically-brother. She gets embarrassed about it though because she has to maintain her Tough Girl Prosecutor look and can’t be showing sympathy for a defense attorney. When he gets disbarred, that wall still remains because she can’t be seen showing sympathy to a *disgraced* ex-defense attorney. However, she still feels like she should do something, so she masks her concern through the concern of the other loved ones. She ends up having movie nights with him (the same way Miles and Maya watch samurai stuff together) and they bond on the more cynical sides of the world, as well as deep down secret loves for musicals and pretty things. He becomes like a big brother for her in a way that Miles never really was because, while growing up, Franziska was often the one comforting Miles through his nightmares and trauma. That’s just one of the reasons why she refers to him as her “little brother”, as well as her just wanting to project herself as more in charge than she actually is. Franziska also develops a soft spot for hugs because she never really had them growing up. Miles isn’t really known to be the one to initiate hugs (although he does enjoy them), while the Wright Family (and this includes Maya) hugs ALL the time. Much like everyone else, Fran finds comfort in Phoenix’s hugs and is able to let her guard down with him (however, she tells him that if he tells *anyone* about this, she will kill him because she still needs to maintain her reputation as Tough and Scary for her career)
