a rare sight over the Brooklyn bridge this morning as the vigilante Spiderman damaged the historic landmark to leave a message declaring his love for an anonymous woman. it was later revealed the message was intended for none other than Tess Beck, the daughter of the late hero Mysterio, when she posted the scene on her instagram and confirmed her relationship status to the masked menace in the description. harbingers of war: quintessa beck in “the killing kind”

the day Peter Parker came back from Germany was the worst day of Tess Beck’s life. Not only had he been offered the Stark Internship she’d been up for, but he’d somehow become even more insufferable, conducting his own chemistry experiments and whispering with his friends during class.

And maybe she was a little sour because he’d abandoned her to finish their chemistry project all by herself (and still managed to earn an A at the last minute) but then her dad gets fired by Tony Stark himself and Quintessa Beck makes one final promise to Peter Parker.

She was gonna make his life a living hell.

TESS BECK + THE MULTIVERSE

Introduced as a one-off love interest for Peter Parker following his breakup with Mary Jane Watson, Tess Beck soon evolved into a fan favorite, with her backstory and investigative skills bringing in a unique demographic of comic books readers whenever she made an appearance.

The daughter of Quentin Beck and the mutant Beautiful Dreamer, Tess Beck is the best friend of Mary Jane Watson and long-time girlfriend and eventual wife of Harry Osborn. Briefly joining the rogues gallery under the alias Stasis, her popularity surged and the character has made several appearances in Spider-Man Adaptations.

Beck has been portrayed three separate times, although each with different names and varying origin stories. 

Her first appearance was in 2002′s Spiderman, directed by Sam Raimi as Theresa Beck. Played by Linda Cardellini, fans were ecstatic to see her character grace the big screen, her interactions with Bruce Campbell’s character leading many to speculate the latter was actually Mysterio. Raimi kept largely to the character’s comic canon, portraying Beck as a loner at Midtown High, whose jealously toward Mary Jane and sardonic humor eventually led to a relationship with Harry Osborn and her arc as the villain Stasis in Spiderman 3. Which was received poorly due to the lack of screen time and development given to the character as a whole.

The character later returned under a new name as Emma Beck--portrayed by breakout star Stella Maeve--in The Amazing Spiderman. An extroverted journalist who was speculated to have ties to Matt Murdock, Marc Webb intended for Emma Beck to have a much bigger storyline in The Amazing Spiderman 2, but unfortunately it had to be cut due to time constraints. Emma Beck was also intended to be the next love interest for Peter Parker in The Amazing Spiderman 3, replacing Mary Jane Watson after the death of Gwen Stacy. However, the sudden cancellation of the series promptly put an end to that plan. 

The most recent version of the character has appeared in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War and Spiderman: Homecoming as the best friend of Michelle Jones (MJ) and a high school rival of Peter Parker’s. Prompted by the recent backlash following the cancellation of TASM3 and script leaks that ignited fan’s rage, Kevin Feige announced that Danielle Rose Russell would be playing the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that she would play an important role in the future of the franchise. Tessa Beck has been rumored to show up in Wandavision, in addition to her upcoming appearance in Spiderman: Far From Home, with many fans believing Beck will be the key to introducing mutants to the MCU.

Tessa Beck had very low expectations when it came to Midtown High’s annual sophomore trip to Oscorp. A scavenger hunt, maybe a few obligatory worksheets, definitely not a visit from her ex boyfriend Harry Osborn and Peter Parker acting weirder than usual.

And then her father loses his job, Captain America declares war on the United States government, and her entire life gets flipped upside down in less than a month.

Tess tuned the rest of the conversation out, mentally checking out at the mention of J. Jonah Jameson and his ridiculous podcast. Thankfully, most of New York didn't believe his lies and those that did were the same people who would've voted for Ronald Reagan if they had the chance.

She paused and bobbed her head in thought.

Actually they probably already did.

Grabbing the necessary materials from her locker, Tess jumped as it slammed shut, suddenly facing the last person she wanted to see.

"Hey, Tess," Peter's hands tugged on the edge of his sleeves, his blue sweater rumpled and creased due to the collared shirt underneath it. All she could do was stare. "You're taking AP Chemistry next year right?"

She was nearing the final third of the worksheet when she rounded a corner, smacking directly into a person taller than her, although that honestly could’ve been anyone with how tiny she was.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry–”

“Are you alright–?”

A pair of big brown eyes stared directly at her, apologetic and grimacing as he helped stabilize her. Her own apology died on her lips when she realized who it was.

Her earbuds kept most of the noise of the train from distracting her, the soft sounds of her playlist helping her focus.

She'd finished her coffee a long time ago and was still riding the caffeine high, but it was bound to disappear soon enough.

No, she needed to get these done quickly. Knowing the answer was half the battle, and once she looked in the back to find it, it was simply a matter of working backwards to figure out the process.

Tess checked her phone to see where she was on the route, only to find several texts from MJ and her dad. MJ was complaining about the prompts for their English final–typical MJ, Tess smirked– and her dad was letting her know that he'd be working later than usual that night.

Her lips twisted into a frown and she shoved her supplies in her backpack as she moved to get ready to depart. Looks like she was having take out…again.

Peter gets in a fight to defend Tessa, and Tess not only joins the fight but takes care of Peter after he gets annihilated.

Peter is reminded of Tess whenever he sees Sunflowers, the color blue, or anything relating to artificial intelligence. Tess is reminded of Peter when she sees red and blue, baby spiders, and oscorp.

23. Who's more likely to convince the other to stay in bed come morning?

Peter. Partially because he doesn't want May to see Tess leave his room, but mostly because he loves spooning.

Neither of them are. They're both very touch averse, especially in moments of stress.

Working on Technology, Science in general, and Crime Fighting.

Oh god. Probably drinking and working.

Tess is a definite lightweight. Once Peter gets a car he definitely has to drive her home.

I don't think either of them have any specific thoughts on pet names, but they do have a few for each other. Mostly nicknames. Tessa calls Peter "Pete" and Peter calls Tessa "Tess" and occasionally "Babe"

29. Who is more likely to jump in an elevator? Who freaks out?

Peter would jump in the elevator only to be promptly slapped in the face by Tessa for doing it.

30. Your OTP gets to pick out each other's outfits; what is each wearing?

Tess is wearing some kind of sundress without a jacket and Peter is wearing a baseball tee and cap.
