-saeyoung introduced the two of you, and from the start he felt a kind of unnamed pain in his stomach, a sort of?? no,, that was impossible. saeran didn’t get jealous, especially not of someone who wasn’t even in a relationship

-but he couldn’t help it, the angry stirring always getting worse every time you and saeyoung made jokes together being absolute meme gremlins, laughing loudly, touching knees and hands, knocking into each other and kicking each other under the table,, it was too much

-so he starts to approach you, trying to get to know you and he’s scared, scared that you’ll see right through him and hate him, or worse, that he’d get legitimately attached and you’d leave him like everyone else

-learns to relax around you, and finds out you’re surprisingly analytical and philosophical, which genuinely intrigues him 

-the two of you form a habit of late night debating, saeran curled up on the couch, absolutely forgetting that anyone else but you and him existed,,, even if saeyoung was in the background clacking away at his keyboard unusually noisily. 

-these talks go so late sometimes that saeran starts to doze off, slowly falling forward until his head is rested on your chest, and you have to shift him carefully to that his back is against the couch, head in your lap as you absentmindedly run your fingers through his hair unable to keep a small smile from forming 

-falling in love with him is gradual, not really understanding whats happening and then being hit with it all at once like a freight train, only the freight train is saeyoung yeeting himself at the couch with full force as saeran sleeps and whispers maniacally, “sO hOwS mY fAvOuRiTe CoUpLe DoInG?”

-...well shit

-saeyoung disappears, as does his laptop, and a part of you starts to think that he was never there in the first place

-the next day when you ask him about it he pretends to be clueless, practically throwing a pancake at you with a ghost of a smirk as saeran walks into the room groggily, last nights shirt wrinkled and hanging loose around his thin frame as he attempts to vigorously rub the tiredness out of his eyes, obviously failing as an inhumanly large yawn graces his face

-you dip immediately, bitten pancake in your mouth as you rush out the door, leaving saeran confused in front of the space where you used to be

- ‘jesus does everyone in this family have the ability to apparate?’ he thinks grumpily

-with both of you now aware of your feelings, it becomes harder and harder to ignore everything about him, even cute platonic habits you had before causes your heart to race, almost losing your composure when he links his pinky to yours, smiling shyly at a dumb joke you made

-as he becomes for comfortable with you, you seem to absorb his previous nervous energy, which strikes him ask completely unlike the analytical person he knew, and this nervousness comes to a point where you blurt out your feelings out of nowhere, kind of rushed, kind of gremlin like, not at all like a cool smooth frat boy you fought so hard to be

-saeran.exe has shut down

-he very very awkwardly asks you out on a date, but you dont actually have your first kiss until the third, both of you back in your spot on the couch this time discussing the unfairness of life and how your teacher should've marked that one question correct. he goes off saying how smart you are, and he looks genuinely angry at no one as he defends you, ranting about how just because your ideas are so well developed an advanced you shouldn't be punished for it

-he doesnt stop until he notices you’d moved closer, cheeks suddenly burning as his turquoise eyes stare into yours, and all you can think about is him, eyes flickering between his lips and his eyes as the both of you instinctively close the gap between you, his hand gently cupping your cheek like thats where it was meant to be this whole time

-you get him to open up a bit more about the world, this however unleashes a chaotic side of him... the side that’ll try every single ice cream flavor at the shop at once, mixing them together in a mess of chunky colors, mostly a strange dark brown

-matching leather jackets

-picnic dates that somehow end up with you in a tree, steel toed boots swinging from the branch as you climb higher and higher, teasingly telling saeran to join you

-to your surprise he climbs up very quickly, nimble as a cat, giving you a quick smooch before muttering “you know dinner is ready right?”

-you just shush him with another kiss as you point to the horizon, smiling contentedly at the sunset, and yet all he can look at is you, the evening sun making your face glow, and he cant help but enjoy your smile more than the sunset, and even though you annoy him about missing such epic colors, he just shakes his head, saying you look much more stunning.

- “now come back down to dinner,” he says, placing another quick kiss on your lips as he climbs back down to the ground as fast as he came up, so fast you almost dont even register it.
