Boffins AU where both Bilbo and Bofur raise Frodo after his parents die and Bofur is constantly showing Frodo off and carrying him around because he loves his new nephew/adopted son. He loves to cuddle both Frodo and Bilbo because they’re his entire world.

I get the feeling that Bofur doesn’t like Thorin very much

First, on the carrock, Bofur rolls his eyes at Bilbo and Thorin’s hug. Probably because Thorin made it seem like he was berating Bilbo again and then decided to suddenly be nice and act like he didn’t pretend Bilbo was literally the worst person in the world.

Then, after the stone giants, he gives Thorin the fattest side eye as he’s saying Bilbo should’ve never gone on the journey after he literally almost fell to his death

Then, in the goblin caves, gives a little bit of stink eye to Thorin after he tells him to take first watch

Then, in the elf cellar, is literally the only one who doesn’t move at Thorin’s instruction and just stands there staring at him (Trust me, you can’t see it but he’s giving him stank eye here too okay)

Then, more stank eye on the boat

Then, ramparts…

I just don’t think Bofur likes the way Thorin treats Bilbo

I love Bilbo and Bofur as a duo. It’s something like completely from the movies but they are just. So good. Romantically, platonically, anyway, they’re just great.

I kinda like the idea that they had a kind of friend crush on each other. Bofur who was so friendly and welcoming to Bilbo who was dealing with the realization that he fit in better with dwarves than with hobbits. Both desperately wanting to reach out and have that genuine comfortable camaraderie that they know they could have but being really scared to make the first step. Also dealing with the fact that they could be a little attracted to each other but they also have no clue because they don’t know how to act around each other. I also just think they’d always be teasing the other affectionately. I can imagine Bofur taking off his hat just to smush it on Bilbo’s head and mess up his hair with it. Bilbo whines that it smells bad and Bofur holds it on tighter.

They share so many moments of gentle kindness. I think if they had more time and things were different, they would’ve been in love.

Looking for an RP!

I'm not new to RPing but I've never roleplayed on Tumblr before except for a few short ones in other fandoms, so if anyone is looking for a Hobbit RP then feel free to message me! (I'd prefer to keep the RPs in messages for now since I'm new to this side of Tumblr)

I'm open to playing different characters, I'd love to explore different ships and not just Bilbo x Thorin (but of course also happy to RP them) Canon era, modern AU or other AUs are all welcome!
