pokémon ship week day 01 — ( arven & giacomo ) firsts

just ignore that i'm posting this late by an hour oops. i had trouble coming up with ideas for day 01 so i ended up yoinking a theme from one of the other days and drew these two going on their first date.

i imagine that arven managed to score first row tickets to one of ryme's live shows, who giacomo is a major fan of. he's not as into live music as him, but he does love getting to see momo excited about things he's passionate about. :)

The Pokémon Center girl was still working her shift, and Juliana asked if she saw which way the pokémon went. She pointed off towards the left, where Loyalty Plaza was at, not once looking up from her phone. She did ask if Juliana wanted her to heal her team, just in case, and the two of them stood there waiting as the machine on the counter scanned for status conditions. 

“Kind of sucks being the last two in a zombie apocalypse situation. Though it’s not too bad, people aren’t like, eating each other’s faces. They’re just doing some stupid-ass dance, but honestly I think I’d rather eat faces than be forced do to that.” 

Juliana didn’t really know what to say to that. “So I’m Juliana…”

“Yeah I’m probably gonna forget that in five minutes, but you’re pretty cool Juliana, running around trying to save everyone or whatever.” The machine beeped, and she typed something in, a prompt that made it start humming. “Hey, so that friend of yours is pretty cute. Is he single?”

“Arven’s got trauma. I don’t think he’s looking for a girlfriend at the moment,” Juliana said rather lamely. Did Arven even like girls? She knew he liked Mabostiff and cooking, and churros con chocolate.

“Oooh, bummer. Unless it’s daddy issues. I love boys with daddy issues they’re so, you know, emotionally vulnerable–” she stopped herself, looking at Juliana’s school uniform. She poked her head out of the stand, saw Arven’s school vest, then seemed to rethink her existence. She shut up real quick. “Great, you’re all twelve. Awesome. Please forget I ever talked to you before now. And everything I said.”

 There is no way they looked older when they were wearing pajamas. Arven’s were covered in paw prints. Nemona’s shirt had a My Little Ponyta, and maybe Juliana’s did too. And Penny's, though she was always wearing that hoodie so maybe she hadn’t been able to see the giant blue cartoon ponyta on it, but still! She bit back something rude, and possibly mortifying to say. “Is my team ready yet? I kind of need to go beat that thing.”

They were. Thank Arceus.

“Don’t die,” the Pokémon Center girl whose name Juliana may never know told her.

May we never meet again, Juliana wished with all of her heart.

one thing i like about timemixshipping is the background element of penny initially hating the fact that one of her dearest friends is dating a guy she has consistent beef with.

like i'm sure she'd be happy for giacomo since he's ending up with someone who clearly loves and cares for him, but i know it'd still be like this when she found out that he got together with arven.
