　　The rain poured outside, heavily and with no signs of stoping any soon. And while that wasn't a problem for the student council president; Shioriko still had plenty of work to finish before she could even think of leaving. The sound of the rain falling would always made her somewhat calmer, so she didn't felt as stressed she would usually when facing the pile of papers on her desk.

　　She was expecting sitting on there for some hours, but she didn't expect for both you and Lanzhu to enter the student council room claiming to have come to help her.

　　Lanzhu's helps was always welcomed – although she would sometimes get a little too excited, she would have her work mostly done by the end. There isn't anything that Lanzhu can do, or so she claims. And your efforts would not be in vain, no matter how much you had done at the end of the day; a third year can only do so much!

　　Unsurprisingly, the work was done in half the time, much for Shioriko's happiness. On the window, though, the rain kept pouring without a care. For her surprise, on the other hand, it seemed like both you and Lanzhu made yourselves comfortable in the student council room – at least enough to take a little nap after finishing work.

　　It can't be helped! Maybe the weather had been just right so she can have a well deserved rest.

With an encouraging smile, the little animal lets Lanzhu rest her hand over its wet fur, stroking it softly as she coos.

So a Japanese YouTuber, hayato3046, decided to go through the whole of the second season of the anime for a "Skinship Ranking". Like, we have the impression that Yu gets touchy-feely with the other girls — but does she touch them more than they touch her? Well, here's the top ten touchers:

(Shioriko, Lanzhu, and Mia are included in the rankings but didn't make the top 10; Lanzhu was 11th at 15 points, and Shioriko and Mia tied for 12th at 11 points.)

The breakdown of who touched whom (plus further details from my own examination of the data) follows:

(These are organized with the touch-er down the side and the touch-er along the top; the fact that everyone's points are in their own color helps with the presentation.)

What this mostly makes clear is the degree of clustering involved. Ayumu gets her ranking mostly by touching Yu and, to a lesser extent, Setsuna — episode 5 really juiced her scores on both counts — while our winner Kasumi is pretty touchy with everybody, with bumps for her fellow first-years and her beloved senpai.

To be clear, hayato3046 considers these as largely asymmetric; if you consider, say, the sequence in episode 4 where Rina hugs Ai from behind, Ai doesn't also get a point until she pats Rina's head afterwards.

Which is why, for shipping data purposes, I combined these numbers to get us a top 15, summing touches each way among the XX pairings.

So there you go. We do see most of the firmly established pairings from the original Nijigasaki lineup here; the exceptions are the ones featuring R3BIRTH and the pre-SIFAS pairings of SetsuKasu, KariKasu, and KariSetsu from the Dengeki 4komas. (I suspect the R3BIRTH girls are so low in the rankings because the anime spent so many episodes on the other subunits.)

The whole list of 78 possible couplings — the combinatoric of (13 2), or 12+11+10+9+...3+2+1 — is too long to give in this post, but here's a Google Sheets spreadsheet of the data.

ive been consuming lanshio content for two days straight and what i understand abt lanshio is that:

sifas lanshio was like, right hand man x boss power couple(?) kind of thing. shioriko was the right hand man and lanzhu's the boss. idk how to explain this.

anime lanshio leans more on the childhood friends that lost contact with each other and when they met again they need to relearn everything (very much a fan of this part of lanshio lol)

lanzhu's surprisingly the top more!?!??!?!?! idk why this surprised me but i feel like. she's a *quickly searches* power bottom. yeah, anyway.... oh but when shio is written/drawn as the dominant one it feels ooc. idk how to explain that. (daiba na--)

shio is a tsundere? which, ig i can kinda see in the anime but i thought she'd be more shy... like, she's more embarrassed w pda than actively disliking it. like she's embarrassed abt lanzhu's actions but she doesnt mind it and lets lanzhu do it and won't push her away. idk.

amnyway. thats it. also why does lanshio has 51 works in ao3? is it bc of niji's popularity? idk...

An Idea Dump...

I'm feeling a little story happy right about now...

Like, while I was in the shower, I got to thinking of doing a Love Live x Cross Ange fic titled "Cross L'ange", replacing Ange with Lanzhu and such. Not sure who Tusk would be in this scenario, but it would be interesting to put Lanzhu through a "trial by fire" kind of thing.

Then there was an Odin Sphere/Honkai Impact 3rd crossover that I thought about where our three heroines end up on Erion and meet some of the cast, primarily Gwendolyn and Velvet. I pictured Kiana telling Gwendolyn something along the lines of "Face it, your dad's a piece of crap, Gwen" and Gwen going, "Yes, I suppose he is".

I also thought a Love Live/Another Eden crossover that I was kinda thinking of with the Nijigasaki cast as the main team (though the other girls from Muse, Aqours and Liella would show up as supporting characters). Not sure who the main character would be in this case, but I would love to have Shioriko and possibly Lanzhu as the main cast.

There was a LL! fic I wanted to write a while back titled "To Tame A Typhoon", which focuses on Lanzhu's integration into the club after the events of chapter 30. Kind of showing off the best of both worlds when it comes to her character, y'know? Heck, I have to admit, I just want to write something with Lanzhu!

And finally, I really wanted to work on an Odin Sphere fic based on an idea that my friend Gloria (who is no longer on Tumblr, sadly) made ages ago. Forgot the name of the fic, but I remember that I dubbed it Magic Baker Mercedes, and it was supposed to be a modern fantasy with food serving as a backdrop. I'll ask her for the details when I get a chance to chat with her again on Discord...

A soft smile spreads across her own lips as she watches her girlfriend sleeping soundly, seeing how also the soft smile playing on her lips is slightly hidden by a strand of her pink hair.

Shioriko can’t help but bring one of her hands up to tuck the strand of hair behind the other girl’s ear, brushing her fingertips ever so slightly over her cheek careful to not disturb her slumber, before she lets out a heavy sigh and retracts her hand to her own chest, feeling her heart beating fast against it.

The raven haired girl then watches the sleeping beauty for a couple of minutes more, trying to calm down her beating heart as she thinks on those three words locked inside it and that she seems to be unable to voice out no matter what, before another heavy sigh escapes her lips and she carefully gets out of their bed, covering her girlfriend with the blankets better so she doesn’t get cold."
