I wanted to unite my 3 Lycanrocs (well... technically I have 4 now...) but two of them are stuck in HOME-limbo so I just drew them together instead :3

Hel and Fenris came from Alola. I forget which version exactly... or which one came from which source but I know one was Masuda-bred and the other was caught via SOS battles.  Faolán was also Masuda-bred in Scarlet and Violet, because actually hunting Dusk Lycanroc is a pain in the ass as they only spawn for 3 minutes per in-game day...which is over an hour. (I drew him with a floppy ear because since he’s the mid-point between Dawn and Midnight he should have a floppy ear darnit!)

I do realize I kinda fell off the naming theme... since Hel and Fenris both got their names from Norse Mythology, while Faolán is an old Irish name meaning “Little wolf”... I literally named him after my own OC... because I thought the name was cute.

Returning to yet another line I've done many times, it's alolan ninetales/mid-day lycanroc. Mid-day Lycantales!

Changed some details up with this one from the dusk/dawn Lycantales since I think it just looks better like this. It's an ice/rock type, and abilities could include snow cloak, keen eye, and snow warning.

Here's dawn Lycantales, I've for sure improved since then, and I'm really proud of myself. (If you're wondering why it's green, it's a blending of blue and yellow since that's the colors I was planning on using for day/night Lycantales.)

What are some post gen-4 mons you'd put on Dawn's team?

I've answered similar questions here and here. And this is roughly what my team updates look like for Dawn in my AU:

I think a rule of thumb is that animalistic pokemon go better with Dawn. She has this pet-owner and sometimes big sister-young sibling relationship with her pokemon that just don't think really work with fully evolved humanoid mons, you get me?

Like, I considered Hisuian Lilligant for her but had to scrap it because of that and other reasons.

And while I TOTALLY understand the choice of the likes of Froslass, Hatterene and Gardevoir for her, I feel like pokemon that Dawn can cuddle are the BEST options for her.

But like, let's go for a full on detailed answer this time!

I think Woobat (not the evo) could work nicely for her. It's super fluffy but also weird. The only issue is that Jess has one too.

Scolipede line could work with Dawn! Honestly I feel like out of the girls, Dawn is the one that you can just bury in bugs and it will work out.

Zorua (but not zoroark). Any form. But at the same time is such an overused pokemon that anything else would be better with Dawn (if possible).

I gave her Galvantula (as a spinarak reference and extra electric type) and like.. Just think of a tiny Joltik sleeping under her beanie???? that's just so cute i love the thought of Dawn with a Joltik

Litwick line is one i considered for her too! I seem to really like ghost types with Dawn.

Ngl Furfrou could be fun with Dawn.

Espurr and any of its evos could be interesting.

Kalosian Goomy is absolutely PERFECT for Dawn but Ash stole that from her -3- (wait, what if I make them trade again? )

Popplio line is perfect for Dawn! In an alternate universe that's totally her starter.

Oricorio is like, mandatory for Dawn at this point lmao

Ribombee could be nice but it feels too delicate for Dawn personally (more like a Lillie mon).

Any of the Lycanrocs could work with her (I specially love the idea of her having a shiny one since it matches her hair color aosihdiosada)

Dawn with Stufful would make me the happiest person in the universe QAQ

Jangmo-o is a pseudo legend i like with her but not really its evolutions. Dawn pokemon should look sleekier in design I think.

Alolan Vulpix would be absolutely PERFECT for Dawn. But alas, Lillie has one..

Scorbunny-Raboot would also look good with Dawn. Not a fan of Cinderace and her tho.

Nickit could be fun with her too.

I gave her a Sizzlipede and I think that was a genius move of me. Imagine it curling on her neck and replacing her scarf. baby.

Hattena and Hattrem do work for her but I'm not sure about Hatterene.

Give her a Cursola so she can have stolen another of Misty's mons saiodhsuidsaudai

I admit that I dont think Alcreamie is a 100% match for her, but it works

Dreepy is nice, but I'm not sure about the evos.

Spectrier just looks like a Dawn mon, idk why.

I think any of the starters base form from Paldea could work with Dawn. Specially Quaxly!

Other than that, uh... wow i dont think any of the gen 9 mons work with her geez...

And in general, I think for Dawn specifically any pokemon can work if you put effort into its personality and relationship with her other mons. I mean just look at Mamoswine, who would look at Dawn in 2006 and guess that would go in her team?

And like, she is not bound to a type or aesthetics like other companions, so just go crazy with her (in fact I think that the general idea for choosing mons for her is: "if it could work with Ash it could work with Dawn" ioshdoias)

Whew, big day for Araceli's shiny family. Three new additions thanks to an outbreak of both Rockruff and Midnight form Lycanroc. It took a few hours to accomplish (and a bit of system clock tweaking so the day would not roll over thanks to me having to go to bed early) but I managed to find enough blue dogs to complete the Rockruff line!

The first blue puppy, full odds shiny #32, was named Bluey. Yes, after the cartoon character. (Except this one is a male; I didn't want to sit and try for a FOURTH shiny and HOPE that it was female.) Decided that he would be the one to stay a Rockruff.

Second blue puppy, full odds shiny #33, was named Tiger and got to evolve into Dusk form Lycanroc. Tiger was likewise named after an animated character - in this case, Tiger of the Wind from Monster Rancher. I had to tweak the system clock again because I kept missing the window to evolve him so that he'd turn into the Dusk form.

The final blue puppy, full odds shiny #34, is Lupa the Midnight form. I actually almost lost her. She chased me out of the initial battle with Roar but I had saved beforehand so it was just a matter of quitting and reloading. Only when I reloaded the game's clock ticked over into daytime so she vanished (you can tell by the sky in the background that I had found her literally at the break of dawn the first time). I sulked for a few minutes before closing the game again without saving and resetting the clock back a few minutes so that when I opened it again it was still night. Boom, she was still there, and I tossed a Quick Ball at her and got a crit capture out of it.

So, yeah, now Chase is the leader of his own little group, and Araceli has a pack of blue dogs. Just need to get a shiny Houndour and Houndoom to complete said pack of blue dogs. Wonder how I am going to work this into her lore... hm.

Mark Collection

Thanks to Home's SwSh Pokedex counter, I've decided to recollect the SwSh Pokedex as a Living Dex which means I have an opportunity to collect the Marks in the game! Marks give your Pokemon a title, and bypass shiny locks so some people will Mark Hunt Pokemon, instead of shiny hunting!

Serebii Link Here You can find marks under the Ribbons page on a Pokemon and they're only on Pokemon caught in the wild, not in raids.

The feature, and ribbons as a whole didn't return in Pokemon Legends Arceus*, so I wonder if they'll be in Scarlet and Violet or if they'll be cut like the Shiny Leaves or movie star status.

When I first played SwSh, I usually did raids online because they were a ton of fun but that meant I couldn't collect many marks. But now that I need to find Pokemon reliably, I can have better odds. Plus I have the mark charm now! I've got my checklist below the cut

*Okay, there might be a secret ribbon in Pokemon Legends Arceus when you take a picture in the photo studio. The game adds data to the Pokemon file for a Pioneer Ribbon but no Gen VIII games support it so no one knows if it will become a ribbon or not.

I thought up an au set in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon world where the characters of Gravity Falls are pokemon. In the Mystery Dungeon au, I'm not taking the breeding mechanics of the games into consideration, but more on the lines of genetics to determine what pokemon between the parents would be born as.

For example, Stan and Ford's parents are a Perserker (Filbrick) and a Kanto Persian (Caryn) so Stan is born as a Alolan Meowth and Ford a Kanto Persian. Also Shermie born as an Galaran Meowth through Filbrick. Ford has six toes on each paw.

Dipper would be a deerling, and Mabel a skitty because their grandpa Shermie got together with their grandmother, who was a delcatty and had their dad, born a kanto meowth. Him meeting their mom, who would be a sawsbuck.

Dipper and Mabel would build up their own team called Team Mystery that consists of their friends and family members. And Dipper and Mabel get strong over time during their stay in the summer and learn new moves. Dipper as a deerling would be green in fur color because deerling and sawsbuck have a special thing where their fur and antlers change depending on the season.

And I have a list of what pokemon, to me, of what pokemon the characters would be.

Shifty would be a ditto Ford and Fidds would find abandoned as an egg. Ford adopting him as his son. Shifty is treated better here than in canon.

And thought of Blendin Blandin being a delibird. Him and other time travelers harness the power of Dialga and Celebi from the far future.

Aight since Pokémon Journeys is coming close to ending, I may as well make predictions about upcoming battles and the finale.

Top 16: Ash (Sirfetch'd, Dragonite, Gengar, Lucario, Pikachu, Infernape) vs Paul (Magmortar, Drapion, Honckrow, Torterra, Ursaring, Electivire)

Top 8: Ash (Dragonite, Dracovish, Pikachu, Gengar, Lucario, Charizard) vs Lance (Charizard, Salamence, Hydreigon, Aerodactyl, Shiny Mega Gyarados, and Dragonite)

Top 4: Ash (Infernape, Lucario, Gengar, Dragonite, Greninja, Pikachu) vs Cynthia (Spiritomb, Togekiss, Roserade, Lucario, Milotic, Garchomp)

Finals: Ash (Pikachu, Charizard, Krookodile, Lycanroc Dusk, Greninja, Infernape) vs Leon (Aegislash, Haxorus, Dragapult, Seismitoad, Rhyperior, Charizard)

As for the finale, after winning the World Championships, Ash holds a massive party with all his Pokémon as well as all of his companions (Brock, Misty, May, Max, Dawn, Iris, Cilan, Clemont, Bonnie, Serena, Lana, Mallow, Kiawe, Sophocles, Lillie, Goh, and Chloe), all of his rivals (Gary, Morrison, Tyson, Paul, Bianca, Trip, Stephan, Cameron, Sawyer, Alain, Gladion, Hau, Marnie, Hodge, Bede, and Hop), and even Team Rocket and N. Team Rocket apologize for pursuing Ash for Pikachu and promise to be there to help if he needs it. Ash's Pokémon friendly mingle with their rivals as well as some Pokémon interacting (Gary and Paul's Electivire's fist bumping, Ash's Charizard talking with Gary's Blastoise, Ash's Infernape and Paul's Ursaring having a friendly scrap, etc.). Then, Ash, using Sceptile, Swellow, and Pikachu, then finally battles Max, using Mightyena, Gallade, and Jirachi (yes, THAT Jirachi from Movie 6) before Ash then uses Pikachu, Lucario, and Dragonite to battle Goh, who uses Inteleon, Flygon, and Cinderace. Afterwards, Oak announces that some special guests have arrived. These are Ash's released/training Pokémon, namely Butterfree and his wife, Pidgeot, Primeape, Squirtle, and Goodra, but others show up like Jigglypuff, who doesn't Sing and instead congratulates Ash on his win, the Fearow flock, now having made up with Pidgeot, and even Arbok and Weezing, who are there both to congratulate Pikachu and also say hi to Jessie and James. Ash then gets notified his father is here. Its Giovanni. He apologizes to Delia for being such a bad influence on the world, congratulates Ash and says he's proud of him, and announces he's disbanded Team Rocket. Jessie and James are given their Pokémon back and go to start a fashion business with Butch and Cassidy. Meowth also makes up with Giovanni's Persian. Ash then confesses his love to either Misty or Serena before he and Goh have a tearful goodbye. We then say goodbye to Greninja again, before Ash returns to Pallet Town. The final scene before the credits is Pikachu motioning Ash to something. He reveals a Thunder Stone and, as a World Champion and having proved his strength, finally evolve into Raichu. The camera goes back into the sky as Ho-oh flies over Ash's house with the Narrator and Dexter wishing us farewell, before we cut to a short preview of Goh's upcoming journey. Cut to credits with the original opening playing while showing highlights of all of Ash's Pokémon, even the released ones. The final image of the show (or at least Ash's saga) is of Ash, his companions, his rivals, his mother, Jessie, James, Meowth, Giovanni, N, Professor Oak, and all of the Pokémon of the mentioned trainers all waving farewell.

Typical pre-sync nuke. I know Oliva & Lycanroc on a sandstorm build is a more common build and possibly the better build, but I prefer to use a pure damage build versus taking advantage of the sandstorm nodes. I only have Acerola as my sandstorm setter at the moment, so I just opt to nuke and pray for the best. It has worked for me so far and I’ve survived, so I’m keeping it.

Second round: Koga

Okay, people aren’t kidding when they say Anniversary Steven gets some really bad damage rolls. I had to reset a few times because I get nuked at the opponent’s sync, but I managed to clear it.

Third round: Bruno

Parameters: Phsyical Dmg. Reduction, Special Dmg. Reduction, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 1, No Status Conditions, Max HP ↑ 2, No Stat Reduction, Ally HP ↓ at Start 5, Max HP ↑ 4, Ally Move Gauge Max -2, Max HP ↑ 6, Strength ↑  6    

Team Comp: 5/5 Dawn & Torterra with Vigilance, 5/5 Professor & Xerneas with Vigilance, 3/5 Player & Eggmon Primeape

This is why I need to start EX-ing more supports. I managed to EX Brendon but since I have him on a Dauntless build, it’s really difficult to clear with him since I get no bonus for critting. Combine that with terrible defenses which makes him keel whenever he gets smacked with an AOE attack I decided to just run a team with a Horn Leech Professor Xerneas being my main damage dealer. Dawn is there to cover physical defenses while Eggmon Primeape boosts crit and breaks barriers. I need to invest a bit more into the Eggmon units as well since they do have some decent utility.

Fourth round: Will

Parameters:  Phsyical Dmg. Reduction, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 1, Strength ↑ 1, Sync Buff ↑ 5, No Stat Reduction, Ally Healing ↓ 5, Power ↑ on Hit 1, Gradual Healing at Start, Strength ↑ 2, Ally Move Gauge Max -2, Strength ↑ 6

Oh man, I need to put Salazzle on a Critical Strike 2 build because this stage was hard. This is was most RNG-reliant stage out of all of Elite 4 battles this week. It relied on flinches with Salazzle and Mismagius, it relied on Breathtaking getting 3 MPRs, it relied on Sp. Attack All getting at least one MPR, it relied on Salazzle to get a good damage roll on her sync. This stage had the most resets to get favorable conditions, but I managed to brute force it so thank goodness for that.

Final round: Lance

Parameters: Phsyical Dmg. Reduction, Special Dmg. Reduction, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 1, No Status Conditions, Strength ↑ 1, Sync Buff ↑ 5, Attack & Sp. Atk ↑ 3, Ally Healing ↓ 5, Gradual Healing at Start, Critical-Hit Defense, Strength ↑  2, Ally Move Gauge -2, Strength ↑ 6

I was trying to clear originally with EX Rosa & Serperior, but that stupid Dragalge kept on preventing me from quad-queueing, no matter how many times I resetted. And that is what kept leading me to my untimely deaths. But, the battle hints did something for once and actually helped me with this team. After remembering that Lisia had Defog, it was game over. I picked all the damage reducing parameters and did a Defog first turn and that was a free 250 points right there. Plus, she is a really good dual tank/strike unit as well. So I am able to buy some more turns with my main tank Psyduck thanks to her. Oh, and Cyrus got his EX at long last. It’s good. Not as broken as Mega Mewtwo Y, but he’s good nonetheless.

As for how... I’ve been Masuda breeding for weeks... 

There’s only one Rockruff type of Rockruff that can evolve into a Dusk Lycanroc. And that is the Own Tempo Rockruff. Keep in mind this is NOT Rockruff’s hidden ability (that would be Steadfast, with its regular abilities being Vital Spirit and Keen Eye) and cannot be acquired via Ability Patch or Ability Capsule.  The game treats Own Tempo Rockruff as its own form, like it does with Galarian Meowth or Jothonian Wooper. When you look at their summary in a box they don’t even have a dex number. 

The only way to get an Own Tempo Rockruff is to either catch one in the wild or breed one. I belive you can catch them in the wild...though I’m not sure entirely how, as they are indistinguishable from a common Rockruff.. I got mine by traveling to Northern Paldea and waiting till evening. For three minutes before sunset they will spawn in the wild. (Because it only lasts for 3 minutes I found going shiny hunting with a sandwich just wasn’t viable for this one...I did get a shiny Dawn form while trying though). I then bred that Lycanroc to a Ditto. 100% of the offspring have been Own Tempo. According to Bulbapedia the ability passes down through the mother or non-Ditto Parent. Which is not like how other abilities are passed down where there’s only a chance the offspring will inherit their parents ability. 

Then of course it can only evolve for those 3 minutes before sunset. So no worries about it accidentally becoming a dawn or midnight Lycanroc. With Own Tempo Dusk is the only option.

I understand if this is an odd one, but I happen to have a shiny midnight lycanroc. She’s taken up the habit of of leaving around midnight and coming home at the wee hours of dawn. I’ve tried to follow her, but she’s much to fast for me to keep up with so I lose sight of her eventually. She never gets hurt on these excursions and always brings back small rocks that she’s very protective over (they’ve created a small hill in my living room), like a dragon type with a pile of gold. Have you any idea what this is about?

Hm... I'll admit, I'm scratching my head a bit over this one.

The first thing that comes to mind is that these rocks are trophies of some kind. Midnight Lycanrocs are known to be more fiery than other Lycanroc forms, they're very competitive and tend to be harder to train for anyone who isn't experienced with them. It's possible your Lycanroc is going out to do some training of her own, and claiming rocks as trophies. She could be testing her head butting against large rocks or boulders, if you have any around you. That would be my best guess based on what you're telling me.

Lycanrocs don't brood, so that won't be it. Doesn't sound like she's attacking other Pokemon or fighting with them, since she isn't getting hurt, so I doubt there's any actual fights happening. Trophy collecting isn't a surprising behaviour, not the most common, but it has been recorded with Midnight Lycanrocs, so that would be my best guess at what she's doing.

Again, it's not necessarily a bad behaviour, if that is what she's doing. If you're really worried about it, maybe look into how you can increase training with her if at all possible. I'll also invite others to jump on this post with their opinions on this situation, and offer up other ideas on what your Lycanroc might be up to.

#1: Zoroark - Cedric (M)

The Illusion Fox Pokémon - Dark-Type - Despite its monstrous appearance, it’s actually a very lonely and sensitive Pokémon that cares deeply about its family and about others. Much like Rachel, there’s more to these Pokémon than what is shown at first glance.

#2: Gardevoir - Jeanne (F)

The Embrace Pokémon - Psychic/Fairy-Type - Gardevoir are Pokémon that have intense bonds with their trainers. Their psychic power is strongest when protecting their trainers. They can see the future and if their trainer is in danger, Gardevoir will give their lives to protect them. Just like how if Rachel knows there’s danger to someone, she will not hesitate to fight with all her strength and risk her life to protect them.

#3: Lycanroc (Midnight) - Edme (F)

The Wolf Pokemon - Rock-Type - This form of Lycanroc are reckless and will attack and goad opponents into attacking with no regard for their own safety. It will ignore orders it doesn’t like and doesn’t mind getting injured so long as it can finish off an opponent. It’s invigorated by stronger opponents and will only listen to a trainer who can draw out its true power. A strong, stubborn, and prideful independent spirit like Rachel who is also headstrong and will attack and defend with no regard for her own life or safety.

#4: Floatzel - Tsunami (F)

The Sea Weasel Pokémon - Water-Type - Floatzel are known to use their floatation sacs to float and they use this both to catch prey at docks and rescue people from drowning. Rachel is an aquatically adept person and has an internal instinct to help and rescue people wherever she sees that they need help.

#5: Luxray (Shiny) - Levana (F)

The Gleam Eyes Pokémon - Electric-Type - Luxray are capable of seeing through walls and objects to search for danger, prey, and even its own young. When its eyes start to glow, it’s using it electric power to see through walls. A valuable ally for someone such as Rachel who feels as though thousands of eyes are watching her at every opportunity.

#6: Haxorus - Zhaitan (M)

The Axe Jaw Pokémon - Dragon-Type - Haxorus are generally very kindhearted and gentle, but they can be terrifying and frightening when angered. They defend their territory and their families with terrifying ferocity. Like Rachel herself, loyal and kind and compassionate, but more than capable of being fierce and frightening when angered and defending the things and the people she cares about.

+: Duskull - Grimm (M) [She doesn’t fight with him but he’s always with her]

The Requiem Pokémon - Ghost-Type - Duskull are capable of passing through any wall and can turn invisible. They are nocturnal creatures and are known to doggedly pursue their targets until the break of dawn. It’s said to spirit away disobedient children and is described to enjoy the crying of children. While Rachel does not enjoy the tears of children, she has an intense maternal instinct. If she hears a child cry, she instinctively wants to protect and console that child. And if a parent mistreats their child, Rachel will not hesitate to defend that child.

#1: Absol - Cassandra (F)

The Disaster Pokémon - Dark-Type - Absol is capable of sensing natural disasters before they happen and is often seen before one occurs. This leads to it being wrongfully demonized and seen as a bad omen and as the cause for the disasters when in truth, this Pokémon tries to warn others and protect them from it. Much like Rachel, she sees disasters before they happen just from her own experiences of constantly being proven right and is often not believed or even shamed for trying to warn and explain to others.

#2: Gallade - Engarde (M)

The Blade Pokémon - Psychic/Fighting-Type - Gallade seek out Pokémon and people in need of help and will only extend their elbow blades when protecting them. They fight fiercely as noble swordsmen to protect those who cannot defend themselves. Like Rachel, they constantly search for those that need help and will fight savagely to protect others.

#3: Ampharos - Emilia (F)

The Light Pokémon - Electric-Type - Ampharos act as a beacon for those that are lost by using their glowing tails to guide sailors away from the shore in lighthouses. Some people even used Ampharos to send signals back and forth using their tail lights. While not someone who guides sailors, Rachel often acts as a beacon to guide those who are lost, such as androids who stumble into her backyard who need repairs and a place to stay until they move on.

#4: Dragapult - Missile Launcher (Missy, for short) (F)

The Stealth Pokémon - Dragon/Ghost-Type - Dragapult often hold Dreepy in the holes in their horns when it isn’t battling. However, once it does, it launches them like missiles at Mach speed. The Dreepy apparently enjoy being launched out of Dragapult’s horns. Rachel’s prosthetic arm is very important to her, but she uses it as a weapon in many forms, including a thrown weapons.

#5: Aggron - Irwell (M)

The Iron Armour Pokémon - Steel/Rock-Type - Aggron claims an entire mountain as its territory and will protect it fiercely. It mercilessly destroys anything that trespasses on its environment and diligently patrols its territory at all times. However, it’s a surprisingly sensitive Pokémon, as it will haul topsoil and the like to restore and garden its own territory. Rachel is fiercely protective of her home and is constantly patrolling her “territory” to protect it from those that trespass its boundaries.

#6: Sceptile - Briar (F)

The Forest Pokémon - Grass-Type - Sceptile is an incredibly agile Pokémon that is unparalleled in jungle combat. It has sharp leaf-like appendages and a sharp leafy tail that can cut through fully grown trees. Like Rachel, its greatest physical strength is its dexterity.
