The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by @axieoh has become one of my favorite light-hearted reads over the summer! I've spent a lot of time imagining its characters, and have attempted to (badly) doodle some of them!

Picture 1: Mina! I'm quite pleased with the way she turned out. I imagined her as a normal-looking girl- no beauty, but charming in her own way. The problem is drawing her consistently :')

Picture 3: Mina and Shin's first meeting! Mina used the song "Beneath the Sea"! IT WAS SUPER EFFECTIVE!

Shin was definitely down bad for Mina the moment he saw her and no one can convince me otherwise. The moment he laid eyes on her the man was a goner.

Happy New Year

synopsis: Mina and Hitoshi celebrate new years

Mina's forearms rests against the cold rail of the open balcony, multicolored fireworks popping in the sky to celebrate the new year. She shivers as a breeze blows by, looking at the familiar faces around her; a flustered Katsuki catches her eye while Ochako kisses his cheek and Momo watches excitedly for the fireworks, her hand dangerously close to Shouto who cracks the smallest smile as he watches her.

Mina swore she saw hearts in his eyes (or maybe it was just the glow of the fireworks reflecting).

There was something familiar about tonight. It was the same way she spent New Year's every year for the past 5 years; surrounded by old classmates and excited smiles for January 1st. It just wouldn't be the same once they all graduated.

But that was a problem for another day.

Another chilly breeze blew, gently tossling her pink curls and a hand found itself on the dip in her waist as well as a kiss the cheek.

She turns her head and is met with Hitoshi, who gently kisses her lips. "12:04am so it still counts as a a New Year's kiss." He takes the last swig out of his champagne flute. "You know, I've been looking for you all night. I only saw you when we arrived."

The corners of her lips twitch up for a second when the kiss leaves a faint, peachy stain on his lips from her lipstick. "Aren't you still underage?" She questions, eyeing his empty glass. "The girls had me occupied all night so I was bit busy."

Hitoshi shrugs. "I'll be 20 in July." He sets his glass on the railing, looking up at the fireworks show before turning his attention back to Mina.

Mina rolls her eyes, amused. "My lips are sealed." She glances at his empty champagne again. "Are you tipsy? Do I have to call Denki to take you home?"

He presses his lips in an unimpressed line. "Barely even that."

"How many did you have?"

Hitoshi leans against the railing of the balcony before holding up two fingers. "You're off the hook." She grins before turning back to the sky, watching the fireworks again and Hitoshi does the same.

They explode in the sky, popping out in red, blue, gold and silver, illuminating the space with every crack that echos through the darkness, ringing in the new year with a celebration of lights.

Fully entranced in the show, Mina doesn't notice Hitoshi coming closer and only realizes he has when he presses a kiss on her cheek, just above her jaw. "Happy new year, Min." He whispers, a smile stretching across his lips.

She reaches for his hand, interlacing their fingers. "Happy new year, 'Toshi."
