Trying to translate one longer thing but it requires so many redraws and is taking a while so here is an oldie from a fav artist of mine. I was a bit adventurous in translation choices today. "Baka Shinji" as "Shinji dear", going for a different approach but staying slightly demeaning. Asuka stutters when asking him to spoon-feed, but I find stutters in English don't work as well, so I went for something more assertive because I think it fits her personality. While the class’s elderly teacher drifted off to sleep Hikari addressed home room. “So for the cultural festival this year we’re going to be doing a play and the one that got the most votes was Sherlock Holmes in Tokyo 3, so we need to discuss who will be playing what role.”

Kensuke raised his hand.

“Hey class rep I think Soryu should play Holmes.”

There was a murmur amongst the students.

“Well I suppose I am the only one here smart enough to really give the great detective the kind of portrayal he deserves.” Asuka replied with a smirk. “Maybe baka Shinji could play Watson for me.”

“Nah Ikari should play Irene Adler we all know he’d look perfect in a dress.” Toji replied snarkily.

“Hey what? I don’t even know who Irene Adler is? Why me?” Shinji asked incredulous.

“She is the only one to ever defeat Sherlock Holmes. That is why you are correct for the role Ikari-kun.” Rei added without looking up from her book.

“With that attitude Wonder Girl should play Moriarty.” Asuka said under her breath.

“Also Irene is usually Sherlock’s girlfriend and we all know who Asuka is chasing after in this class.” Mana interjected.

“Oh shut up!” Shinji and Asuka said in unison.

“Hey now everyone just a moment. We can’t make Ikari wear drag if he doesn’t want to. We’ll just have to make the character like Ian Adler or something and we still need a Watson.”

“What are you blind Class Rep you should be Watson.” Kensuke replied.

There was a general murmur of agreement.

“Well then I suppose that does cover all the starring roles…. Let’s vote on it.”

Of course the vote was unanimous everyone thought the casting was perfect.

I like how Kenzaki 80% of the time is a serious and competent snarky sadboy but occasionally he gets possessed by the spirit of Shinji Kido and has a Baka Idiot Moment
