14. what do you love most about the series?

Oh my god, where to begin? It was the first full-fledged manga series I have ever read, and in the 11 years that I’ve had the books on my shelf, I have re-read them countless times. It’s just such a beautiful series where the characters are so fleshed out with believable flaws. You are emotionally invested from the get-go, especially when you have an incredible protagonist like Tohru; a young woman who puts on an unwavering brave and happy face all the time but has so much stuff she can’t deal with. She isn’t perfect but that’s what makes her so lovable is that she seems like a real person….I don’t know how to describe it, but whenever I read / watch Fruits Basket, it makes me strive to be a nicer, more caring, kind person! I REALLY could go on about this series forever….it’s twenty-three books I think I will always always have in my shelf and that will stay with me forever!

Velvet - What is your style?

I love thrift/charity shopping! of course for the sustainability of it, but i think you really get a different, unique look. i really love 80s/90s looks, crop tops and skirts but also high waisted jeans or dungarees and baggy shirts and jackets! i love make-up lots as well, using bright eyeshadow colours and glitter and highlighter and lipstick and eyeliner!! i love funky accessories too like jewelry and headscarves. the only thing i’m rubbish at style-wise is hair, i never know what to do with my hair!!

i’ve really only started drinking coffee in the last year or so, so i’m still leaning more towards the sweeter side than the more bitter side! i like chocolatey mochas or lattes with a good few shots of hazelnut syrup!

do you know any good gameplay of final fantasy XV?

hmmm, i’ve actually been playing FFXV myself so i haven’t watched any gameplays at all!

oasis; dream destination?

Japan! It has been my dream for idk how long to go there and spend a few months travelling. I want to save up and do basic Japanese lessons before I go. I have a Pinterest board of places I want to visit there and even an Air BnB folder of places to stay whenever I go there....I can’t wait for some day when I will get to go!

1975; if you could time travel to any time period, what would it be and why?

The 1980s, so I could shop for all the 80s fashion I love so much and then come back to the present and rock my new garms.

Why do you love Darren Criss? :)

oh god the answer to this question has no end!!!!! honestly I could go on forever. but here i go...

firstly, he’s incredibly talented. hot damn. an amazing musician, composer AND actor. his music is so beautiful and it makes me so happy. i love listening to it all the time - be it when i’m happy or sad, it always lifts my mood. this particular song is my “safe place” song. it is my favorite song ever EVER and it just calms me down instantly.

secondly, he has such an amazing personality and an optimistic outlook on life. despite all of the attention he receives he has not been fazed by it whatsoever - just look at this and see how he reacts when asked if he would trade money for fame - he remains humble and down-to-earth in all that he does. he’s so happy and enthusiastic and so passionate about the things he loves to do and that positive attitude really has such a good effect on the people around him and who are fans of him - including me! Watching interviews of him is so much fun because he’s such a good sport in interviews and he always makes me smile and laugh.

two years ago i had the pleasure of meeting him and i was so nervous i almost fainted before i had to go upstairs to his dressing room, holy crap i thought i was going to die. when i actually met him and talked to him for the first minute i couldn’t stop shaking, but he was just so so nice and treated me like an old friend he hadn’t seen in a long time, and after two minutes i was a lot more relaxed (although i was still shitting myself for sure good god). It was the best ten minutes that i’ve ever spent in my entire life just talking to him - he was so nice, he asked me so many questions about myself actually took an interest in things I had to say. He was so kind and I was and still am so grateful for that, and I’ll never ever forget it. And even two years later I am still so glad for his music, his acting and his eternal optimism, which have helped me enormously and made me incredibly happy over the last 3 years.

Anon! You have made my day - thank you so much! Darren makes me so happy you have no idea. No matter how I’m feeling - happy, sad, stressed, anxious, angry, nervous - he’s always there, ya know? I just have to turn on my iPod and listen to him singing. Or watch a video of him doing an interview or one of the musicals he’s in. My mood is instantly uplifted, even if it’s only slight, it makes a difference. He’s such an optimistic, humble and down-to-earth person with such a kind heart and a free spirit. I wish that I can be like that someday; I always try my hardest to be positive and look on the bright side of things. And that’s really difficult to do a lot of the times. But he really helps me out. He really has made such a positive impact on my life and he makes me so so happy even when I’m not feeling very happy at all, and I’m glad that I got to tell him that myself in my own words.

And you, anon, have made me really happy today! Thank YOU for making me happy, you too deserve to be happy!
