"Jasper, don't you think this is a little risky? And high?" You ask, clutching onto his shirt. Your finger nails catching onto the fibers. He grabs your hand, taking it off his shirt and into his own.
"Would I ever put you in a situation where you get hurt?" He asks, nuzzling into you. You look below you, at the ground covered in sparkling layers of snow. From up there in the trees it looks quite pretty, you stare at it for a short while; contemplating what you're going to say. (Completely not getting blinded by it)
"No, but I don't see how jumping from tree to tree is supposed to be fun for me" You deadpan, looking up at him and falsely glaring; a puff of air coming out of your mouth. His gold eyes watching as it disappears.
"You'll see pumpkin" He declares, grabbing your waist with one arm and jumping to the next set of trees with the other.
"You do realize if you DROP me. I won't just get up and walk it off like you would, right?" You whimper to him, grabbing him tighter as not to perish in the snow below.
"Well good news, we're where I wanted to go" He brushes branches out of the way to reveal a beautifully reserved clearing, which you assumed would have flowers covering it fully if it weren't for the snow. Jasper turns to tell you something but he stops at the sight of you staring in awe at a deer. It slowly walks into view, sniffing the ground as it looks for a place to just lay down and relax.
"Jasper! Look at it! Isnt it cute!?" You whisper to him, watching to make sure the deer doesn't hear you. He's still looking at you, a smile appearing on his face.
"Yeah it is" He whispers back. You turn to look at him and sees he's staring right back at you. Your face burns from the contrast of the cold air and your now warm face.
"The deer! Not me!!" You hit him on the arm. He chuckles and tightens his grip on you so he can jump down from the tree. The sound of his feet hitting the snow scares away the deer, causing you to pout. He sets you down.
"You scared it away!" You yell at him, walking into the clearing and just plop yourself down in the snow. The crunching of newly laid snow fills the silence. (You ever see people write "a pregnant pause" motherfucker what?!) You lay back and put your hands out above you, the sky is a cloudy grey color compared to the white on the ground and trees.
"Looks like it's about to snow again sugar" Jasper states, coming to lay next to you. You turn your head to make eye contact with him. (I hate eye contact 😭😭)
"Hey wait. Since your body temp is cold, do you not get cold from the snow?" You ask, starting to flail your arms about in a snow angel formation.
"Not really. Doesn't mean I won't bundle up in blankets tho" He tells you, turning on his side and propping his head up with his arm. You stop making snow angels and just stare at him. The beauty of his sparkly skin with the sparkling white snow, you wish you had brought your phone. (Wait, I know like non twilight vampires can't show up in pictures, is it the same for twilight vampires?? If it is the same, shhhhh)
"Should we be heading back? You're shivering" He asks, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into him.
"Maybe, I can already not feel my fingers" You muttered, blowing hot air onto your hands. He chuckles.
"Let's go home then beloved"
At home
"Ahhhhh" you sighed out as Jasper wrapped another blanket around you. He stands up and looks over you.
"You warm?"
"Like a damn burrito" You joke, sticking your hand out of the blanket and reaching for him.
"Are you sure you need me up against you?"
"I always need you up against me" You tease, grabbing him. He rolls his eyes but then he smiles.
"You're dirty"
"Yeah but you like it"
It's kinda short but I have no idea how to write for this man. LOVE YA

Febuwhump collab day 14 — blood-stained tiles
Shhhhh don’t even look at the day this was technically supposed to be posted on okay (I’ve just. given up on posting them the correct days I think XD but that’s okay, I’m still having fun)
This one was suggested by the lovely @thepinklink! Some Legend angst for you <3
Tumblr media
This is set after supers are legal again btw. Legend and Wild are both about 15 here.
Warnings: blood, and injury, but not described in too much detail.
Today’s lovely art
Ao3 link
————————————————————
Wild scanned dully across the book page in front of him, holding back a yawn as the words smeared under his tired eyes. It was an interesting book, but it just wasn’t enough to keep his eyes from trying to close, lids heavy with exhaustion. He wanted so much to just drift off and sleep, but the nightmares had been bad again, and he knew if he closed his eyes they’d be upon him with a vengeance.
His pillow was so soft though, and his blankets were nice and warm, and resting his eyes for just a second or two couldn’t hurt...
Wild jerked himself awake from the doze, shaking his head and pressing his palms to his eyes. Maybe he needed some water. That would wake him up, right? Getting out of bed to get it would at least.
He sighed and threw back his blankets, slightly relieved he didn’t have to be quite as quiet as he normally would. Twilight was off at their grandpa’s farm for the week, and while Wild sort of enjoyed having their room to himself, he missed his brother’s snoring, and the solution and comfort he would doubtless give if he knew about Wild’s current problem.
It’s only for another few days, get a grip, Wild huffed to himself, then padded quietly out into the hallway.
He was nearly to the bathroom when he heard a small thump from inside, and Wild paused with his hand inches from the knob. The door was mostly closed, but the light wasn’t on, and Wild had assumed nobody was inside.
Maybe Four was in there? Sometimes he didn’t turn on the overhead since there was a nightlight inside, but he always shut and locked the door. Maybe it was someone else in there.
Or maybe it was something in there?
Oh if it’s mice again Mom’s gonna lose it, Wild thought. Or cockroaches. Though I really hope a cockroach didn’t make that thud.
Wild braced himself for any number of nasty things, then bravely pushed the door open and clicked on the light.
And was treated to the sight of Legend halfway out of his hero suit, leaning heavily on the counter, a hand clasped at his side, and a generous amount of blood dripping onto the floor.
Wild stared, Legend blinking in the sudden light, and it was a solid minute before his voice finally came back enough for him to speak.
“Ledge!” he gaped, and Legend glared at him, though the effect was diminished by the wearied look on his face. “Legend you’re bleeding—”
“Keep it down!” Legend hissed. “Do you want everyone running in here?”
“Maybe I do! What happened?” Wild whisper-shouted back, and Legend shushed him again before letting out a heavy sigh.
“I just... went out and ran into a little trouble, okay?” he bit out, leaning a little more heavily on the sink. “Don’t worry about it.”
Wild kept staring at him in disbelief. “Legend, we’re not supposed to go heroing out by ourselves. Dad said that was the rule until we’re older, you know that—”
“Right, and you’ve definitely never broken that rule,” Legend scoffed, and Wild faltered a second.
Admittedly, Legend had him there.
“...okay, but I’ve never come back with a great gaping hole in my side,” Wild pointed out, and Legend flicked his eyes away from him. Wild crossed his arms when Legend didn’t say anything further, and his brother sighed, giving a great big roll of his eyes.
“Okay, okay. I’m an idiot, and I learned my lesson, hooray. Now will you get out of here and leave me alone?” Legend snapped.
Wild shook his head. “No way. I’m getting Hyrule, don’t—”
“Wild don’t you dare try to wake up Hyrule, he’s been sick all week,” Legend hissed.
“You’re bleeding all over the bathroom!” Wild hissed back, “I kinda think that’s something he’d want to help with!”
Legend opened his mouth to say something equally snarky in reply, but his entire form suddenly flickered, and he closed his eyes, face drawn with pain.
Wild watched some blood drip onto the floor, and exhaled through his nose, anger fading away to be replaced with worry.
It was true Hyrule had been sick the past several days, nauseous and tired, and it was likely he wouldn’t be able to handle healing Legend up much at all. And even if he could, he really shouldn’t, since it would just wear him out further. Even if Legend was doing his best impression of a leaky faucet at the moment, and they’d all heard the stories their uncles would tell about how dangerous blood loss could be...
“Okay. Whatever,” Wild said more softly, and Legend looked at him, trembling a little. “At least let me help you bandage it up.”
“...Fine,” Legend murmured.
Wild came forward, stepping around the blood on the floor, and pushed Legend down to sit on the toilet lid. His brother did so with a pained grunt, and Wild began rummaging for something to help stop the bleeding. He pulled out some clean towels, and kneeled back down by Legend, studying his injury with nausea and worry swimming in his gut.
“Geez Legend, you really did a number on yourself,” he murmured as he looked at him.
“It wasn’t me. Some idiot with a knife just managed to guess where I was standing,” Legend muttered, hissing through his teeth as Wild pressed a towel to his side. “‘S not my fault.”
“I’m sure Mom and Dad’ll take that as an excuse,” Wild said dryly.
“Mom and Dad don’t need to know,” Legend muttered, and let out another hiss of pain as Wild shifted his grip. “Just my luck the guy got me while I was a rabbit.”
“You were in rabbit form?” Wild asked worriedly, and Legend looked away. “Didn’t changing back hurt? I know transforming is painful if Twilight’s injured, isn’t it the same for you?”
“Yeah, w-well he’s him and I’m me,” Legend shrugged, and squeezed his eyes shut again as Wild shifted the towel.
A few moments passed in silence, and Wild pulled the towel off a little, still concerned at the amount of blood coming out of Legend’s side. The towel was becoming rather red, and Legend only seemed to get paler, his hands shaking where they were gripping his middle.
“Legend... this looks really bad,” Wild said quietly. You look really bad. “I... think we should wake up Hyrule now.”
Legend immediately shook his head. “No.”
“Legend, you’re really...” Wild began, and Legend glared at him.
“No. He needs his rest and I’m fi—”
“Um.”
At the third voice, Legend and Wild both turned to stare at the doorway, where Wind was staring back at the two of them, his sleepy expression morphing quickly into one of shock and confusion.
Crud.
“...am I dreaming?” Wind asked in a bit of a dazed voice.
“Yep, better go back to bed,” Wild said quickly, and Wind blinked at them another few seconds, then shook his head, his eyes focusing a bit more.
“I’m not dreaming! Legend you’re hurt!” he gasped, and Wild and Legend both shushed him, Legend’s ears twitching as he listened for anyone else coming.
“We’re handling it Wind, go back to bed,” Legend said in an exhausted voice.
“Does handling it usually involve blood all over the floor and Mom’s good towels?” Wind asked with a raised eyebrow, and Wild winced as he realized he had, in fact, grabbed Mom’s good towels.
“...yes,” Wild said, but Wind sniffed out the uncertainty in his voice better than even Twilight could.
“Riiiiight. What happened?” Wind asked as he walked over to Legend, skirting around the blood on the floor. “How exactly did you— Oh geez— Legend that looks really bad, what did you do? Wait... you snuck out, didn’t you!”
“Genius deduction there Sherlock,” Legend growled. “Now that you’ve figured everything out, go back to bed.”
“Like heck I will, if I left you and Wild here alone you’d probably bleed out,” Wind huffed. “Haven’t you woken Rulie up yet?”
“He’s sick,” Legend hissed again, and Wind crossed his arms as he stared at Legend.
“Yeah and he’ll feel even worse if he hears you hid this from him and didn’t let him help,” Wind pointed out, and Wild blinked. He hadn’t thought about it like that. “And... it looks like you got stabbed Legend, that’s kind of a big deal?!”
“Well it’s really not,” Legend bit out, and sat up, as if to prove it.
His face went white though, and he slipped off the toilet, Wild letting out a panicked noise as he shot forward and grabbed him. Wind darted forward as well, and they both stared at Legend’s face, screwed up in a grimace. His eyes flickered back open after only a few seconds, but Wild was already falling firmly into panic mode.
“Legend?!” he asked frantically.
“Fine, I-I’m— I’m fine,” Legend got out, but the pain in his voice spoke otherwise.
“That’s a lot of blood,” Wind said quietly, sounding much more concerned then before, and Legend squeezed his eyes shut before dragging them open again.
“I... m-maybe you’d better get Hyrule,” he said in a small voice, a thin thread of fear coming through in the words.
Wild swallowed. Legend very, very rarely sounded like that.
Forget trying to avoid nightmares, Legend is trying to give me more.
“Wind? Can you get Hyrule?” Wild asked, and Wind nodded. “Do it quietly though, the last thing we need is Four waking up, or Mom and Dad.”
“Would it really be so bad if that happened?” Wind murmured, but he slipped out of the bathroom without barely a sound.
He returned a few minutes later, Hyrule shuffling quietly behind him. Their other brother seemed like he was only half-awake, and as Wild looked at the dark circles under his eyes, he felt a sting of guilt at having to resort to waking him up.
But Legend was only getting paler, and between waking up Hyrule, or waking up their parents and worrying them both and getting a lecture of some kind, Wild figured Hyrule was the safer option. Plus his parents would probably wake Hyrule up to help anyway. This just cut out the middle man.
Though if Legend loses much more blood, we probably’ll have to wake them up...
Hyrule quietly took in the scene, sniffling and wiping his nose on his sleeve as he eyeballed the blood all over the floor, then he frowned, looking intently at Legend.
“Why is it always you, Legend?” Hyrule murmured with a hint of both amusement and annoyance, and Legend looked down at his feet.
“Almost always,” Wind corrected. “There was that time with Wild and that tree, remember?”
Wild glared at him. “Not the time, Wind.”
Hyrule ignored them both, and sighed as he finished looking over Legend. “Okay. Hold still.”
“Don’t do too much,” Legend said as Hyrule kneeled on the floor beside him, Legend shakily grabbing his arm. “J-just stop the bleeding, don’t... don’t push yourself.”
“I’ll do as much as you need,” Hyrule said patiently, and lit up his hands with a soft blue light.
He pressed them both to Legend’s side, his eyes closing in concentration, and Wild and Wind watched in silence as the gouge in Legend’s side began to slowly shrink away. The glow from Hyrule’s powers lit the bathroom up in an almost eerie way, and Wild noticed Wind slide a little closer to his side, worry bright on his face.
Legend kept his eyes closed while Hyrule worked, and several quiet minutes went by before he raised his head and squeezed Hyrule’s arm.
“That’s good. You can stop.”
Hyrule dragged his eyes open and stared at Legend, the increased exhaustion on his face doing nothing to lessen the firm look in his eyes.
“I’m not finished.”
“Yes you are,” Legend said firmly, his face still pale, but much less so then before. “Rulie you look like you’re going to keel over, you’re in no shape to keep using up your energy on me.”
“What, cause of this l-little cold?” Hyrule smirked, but Legend didn’t return it.
“The sound of the faucet dripping earlier almost made you throw up,” he replied flatly.
“The bathroom is covered in blood,” Hyrule shot back, arms crossed.
“I’m not still bleeding!”
“You could easily reopen it! I’m not done!”
“You guys are both dumb, and need sleep,” Wind interrupted, and Wild couldn’t help his snort. “Let’s see how bad it looks now before you keep arguing, huh?”
Hyrule pulled back and moved the towel that was blocking Wild and Wind’s view, and revealed a shallow mark on Legend’s side. The skin was still bloody, but the injury itself didn’t seem like it was bleeding much at all, and was much less scary-looking then before.
Wild sighed in relief. “I think it’s good, ‘rule.”
“Yeah, it looks way better, I don’t think he’ll pass out now,” Wind said cheerfully, then hesitated. “Well, not from blood loss at least.”
“My own blood doesn’t make me pass out,” Legend grumbled as he began to clean himself up, but Wind ignored him.
“I think it’s good enough for now Hyrule, thanks,” Wild said, and Hyrule nodded, his eyes drooping tiredly. “We can look at it again tomorrow. You should go back to bed.”
“Legend too,” Hyrule murmured. “I can’t really fix blood loss. He needs rest.”
Wild nodded, and as soon as Legend was as clean as he was going to get and had his injury wrapped, Wild and Wind helped him and Hyrule back down the hall and into their beds. Legend didn’t even bother with his own bed, merely collapsing next to Hyrule in his blankets instead, and Hyrule snuggled up to him. Both were asleep in seconds, and Wind and Wild exchanged smiles as they shut the door.
“Finally. Makes me wonder who’s the older sibling sometimes,” Wind huffed as they walked back to the bathroom, and Wild quietly laughed.
“Well you’ll have plenty of time to think about it,” he said as he opened the door, and gestured to the mess they and Legend had left behind. “...We still have to clean all this up before Mom and Dad get up.”
Wind grimaced. “...Right. I Don’t know how we’re going to fix those towels though.”
Wild thought for a moment, then sighed. “...you think Four would know?”
“Probably.”
“I was afraid of that.”
Wind and Wild exchanged tired looks, though after a moment both of their faces cracked into smiles, followed by quickly muffled giggles. It really wasn’t that funny, but Wild at least had reached the point where it was so late and he was so tired that everything was at least a little funny.
Plus... he was still riding the wave of relief that Legend was okay.
Finally their giggles ran out though, and Wild and Wind both wordlessly turned out of the bathroom to go wake up Four, and see if he could help get the blood off of the towels.
It wasn’t the excuse Wild would have picked, but between this and lying in his bed trying not to have more nightmares... cleaning up blood and shushing Wind when he made a stupid joke was much more preferable.

You Broke Me First
Part 12
Tumblr media
this is my new favorite picture fyi
As you get older you learn you can't take back your words or your actions. You learn it's important to be careful what you say or how you act when you're angry in the moment. Hurtful words can't be taken back, and actions can't be reversed.
Zoe decided to learn that the hard way.
"He SQUEEZED my ARM" Zoe yelled dramatically, as she took a sip of her 3rd... or 5th? tequila soda.
Upon Cillian leaving, Zoe called her best friend, Dana, and invited her over. Dana brought over tequila. After 2 drinks, Zoe told Dana everything. EVERYTHING. Dana now knew the arrangement; everything she wasn't supposed to know. Zoe knew she shouldn't have told her. She knew the implications and how difficult this could make things if Dana told people.
But drunk Zoe didn't care. Drunk Zoe was angry and had enough.
"That's the reaction my dad gave me when my dog died" Dana said, laying on the couch with her drink on her chest. "Hey, can you turn that fan off? the spinning is making me nauseous"
Zoe looked at the fan in the corner, unplugged. "It's not on"
"oh fuck" Dana said, covering her eyes. "I think we drank too much"
"Who cares, LOOK AT MY LIFE" Zoe yelled, motioning to the window where the paparazzi once stood to get pictures of her and Cillian. "Where are they now? do you think they're out there?" She said, stumbling back towards Dana on the couch who was now sitting up.
"sssssswhat are you gonna do, I still can't believe you're not getting paid for this" Dana replied, pausing in the middle of the sentence to hiccup.
Zoe downed the rest of her drink in one gulp and slammed the glass down on the coffee table. "Fuck it. Fuck him. He should be lucky - LUCKY i agreed to this"
"You tried so hard to make it work and feel real. You even started a show with him"
"I STARTED A SHOWWWWW WITH HIM!!!!!" Zoe yelled back. "THAT'S COMMITMENT!!!!!"
"You wanna go out? lets go outttt I wanna go out" Dana said standing up, wobbling towards the front door.
"No I wanna stay here, I don't wanna put on real clothes" Zoe said, pouting.
"Then lets have fun already and stop complaining about men they all suck" Dana said, climbing on top of the coffee table. Zoe climbed on after her with the tequila bottle in her hand. She took a swig of it and passed it to Dana. "To girls with good friends"
Dana grabbed the bottle and took a swig as well. After swallowing and cringing, she added "and to girls who aren't scared of breaking NDA's"
An hour later, the girls were dancing around the living room to Spite by Charlotte Sands. The music was blaring and the windows were opened. The downstairs neighbor was hitting the ceiling with a broomstick, annoyed with the noise at such a late hour. The girls didn't hear the bangs, they carried on with their dancing and singing.
They eventually (unfortunately) made their way out of apartment, stumbling down the street to the dive bar on the corner.
They spilled into the door, laughing and holding onto one another.
They were blackout at this point; they've become the group of girls that are so drunk you would roll your eyes at them and stay far away. "They're obnoxious, so sloppy" you would tell your friends, giving them dirty looks. "Hate to be the person who has to deal with getting them home"
and boy, would you be right.
Zoe, finding her liquid courage and sassiness on a high level, took out her phone and decided to facetime Cillian. It was 2:40am, the bar was calling last call, people were staring to head home, but not Zoe. She wanted to stir the pot.
After about 5 rings, he answered. "Why... hello?" He said, visibly rubbing his eyes. He was in bed, confused why she was facetiming him at such an hour.
"Yea I just wanted to let you know that i'm done" Zoe said loudly, holding the phone too close to her face.
"Done with what - where are you?" He said, squinting.
"I'm done with this pretending thing we're doing, Cillian" Zoe said louder.
"SHHHHH Stop yelling! where are you? are you okay? who are you with?" Cillian said, sitting up.
"I'm with Dana. She's my best friend. She has black hair. And green eyes. and looooooooves Adele and one time, she peed her pants on her way home from work. But you wouldn't know that because you're a BAD. FAKE. BOYFRIEND" Zoe continued. "See, SHEEEEE came with me to the dive bar on the corner by my house you didn't want to go to - you wanna say hi, DANA COME HERE" She yelled off camera.
"Zoe NO. STOP" Cillian said, frustrated. He got out of bed and pulled on sweatpants. "Don't move. Do you hear me? Don't leave." He said, hanging up the phone.
"Here she is - ugh, he hung up, HE'S SO RUDE" Zoe said, completely not hearing anything Cillian said. She had Dana next to her with a round of drinks. They were the last ones in the bar, and the bartenders were starting to wipe down the bar and clean up for the night.
"You shouldn't be with a man who hangs up on you, it's 2024 we want better for ourselves, women's rights" Dana slurred, not making any sense. The bartenders listened from afar, making eyes with the security guards by the door. They were tiny girls, they didn't think they would cause a problem, but they were extra aware of them and how drunk they were.
About 15 minutes later, security escorted them out of the bar. They were now sitting on the curb, leaning on each other and trying to find the strength to stand up.
"Hey I don't feel good" Dana said, closing her eyes. "Call me an uber?" She said, handing Zoe her phone.
"Just sleep by me" Zoe said, standing up trying t pull up her friend. She paused when headlights appeared to her right, shining in her eyes when she turned her head to look. It looked like the car was coming right at her. It slowed to a stop closely to her, and heard the back door open as well as the front passenger window come down.
Suddenly, in front of her, Cillian appeared... looking angry. He was in sweatpants, slides, and a hoodie with the hood pulled up. He walked over to her, forcing a grin on his face but his eyes said otherwise.
"Hi baby" He choked out. Zoe stared at him, speechless.
"I came to get you" he said, putting his hands on her hips and squeezing. He stared her down, nostrils flaring and jaw clenched. If looks could kill, Zoe would be in trouble.
He was full on glaring at her at this point, and unfortunately for Zoe she was starting to see two of him.
"let's get you back to my house... now."

Lights in the Window
Fandom: Doctor Who Ships: Ninth Doctor/Rose Tyler Characters: Ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler, Mickey Smith, Sally Salter, Patrice Okereke, Mook Jayasundera Rating: General Series: Eight Nights of DoctorRose (link goes to ao3 page) Word Count: 1,432 Other Tags: Hanukkah, Holidays
Read on AO3
Summary: The Doctor doesn't do domestics. Rose gets him to come to her friend's Hanukkah celebration anyway.
NOTES: happy third night of doctorrose!! all rose's friends (sally, mook, patrice) are members of mickey's band in the rose novelization and feature in audio material (sally is mentioned in dw redacted and parallel universe mook and patrice are speaking characters in the dimension cannon audio titled "the last party on earth") so that's where i'm drawing from for that. i love the idea that rose and mickey have this friend group full of lgbt people 😌
full disclosure no one committed to writing tomorrow's fic (it's supposed to be tenrose and donna) so if we skip a day. shhhhh. i'm going to try to write something small though
“C’mon! It’ll be fun.” Rose was tugging at the Doctor’s arm, pulling him away from the TARDIS console. “Everyone’s dying to meet you.”
“Let ‘em,” the Doctor said, trying his absolute hardest to turn back to the console.
“Oh, don't be stupid,” Rose said. “You'll love them. Promise.”
The Doctor turned back to her. “Told you. Don't do domestics.”
Rose rolled her eyes. “I told you. This isn't domestics. It's just a holiday with my friends. Or don't you do friends?”
“I've got you,” the Doctor replied. “How many more do I need?”
Rose counted on her fingers. “At least five,” she said. “Not counting Mickey.”
“Oh, Mickey’s going to be there?”
“Oi, be nice.” Rose shoved at the Doctor. “It's just for an evening, and then you can go back to being all sulky in your box, all right?”
The Doctor lifted his hand to tangle his fingers with Rose’s, and Rose grinned. She’d gotten him.
“Fine,” he said. “Just the one night, though. I know how these holidays go.”
“Don’t worry,” Rose replied. “We’ve never done every night with Sally. Just the one. ‘Cause she was tired of celebrating Christmas.” She raised her eyebrows. “Which is something you and her will have in common!”
The Doctor glowered.
They showed up at Mickey’s flat half an hour late. As they approached, Rose rolled her eyes and said, “Some time machine you’ve got.”
“Oi, at least it’s the right year,” the Doctor protested.
“Yeah, but you would've landed us in the middle of the Thames if I hadn't been paying attention.” Rose banged on the door. “Oi, it's me! Open up!”
It was Patrice who opened the door. He grinned to see Rose.
“Well, if it isn't our own Rose Tyler!”
Before Rose could respond, she heard Sally’s voice from inside the flat, calling, “Is that Rose? Tell her to get in here so we can light the candles.”
“Coming,” Rose called. She stepped across the threshold, pulling the Doctor with her. They followed Patrice into the living room, where everyone was gathered around the menorah on the coffee table: Patrice dropped into a too-small armchair with Mook, and Sally was kneeling on the ground between the armchair and the sofa. Mickey was on the sofa. He moved over to make room for Rose and the Doctor to sit.
“About time you showed up,” he said to Rose.
Rose glanced at the Doctor. “That's what I said.”
“I do my best, all right?” The Doctor crossed his arms. “Anyway, we got here in the end.”
“And we're glad you did,” Sally said. “It's not a real No Hot Ashes Hanukkah without Rose Tyler.”
Rose laughed. “So let's get on with it, then.”
“Right. Rose, has your friend done this before?”
“Not the way we do it,” Rose said with a grin.
Everyone laughed.
Rose nudged the Doctor. “Actually, have you done this?”
He stared at her. “Rose, I'm nine hundred years old. I was at the original.”
Sally was looking at them curiously, but Rose just rolled her eyes. “No need to brag.” She nodded at Sally. “Go ahead. He’ll be fine.”
“Right, everybody,” Sally said, straightening up. “We're looking at three candles tonight. Sing along if you know the words.” She began to sing the first blessing. Rose remembered about half the words from previous years, and she filled them in where she could: mostly she liked hearing Sally’s voice mingling with the others’, all coming together in the prayer.
Everyone was quiet when the blessings ended, watching as Sally lit the candle in the center of the menorah and touched the flame to the first candle, the second, the third, each flickering to life in turn. With the candles lit, Sally sat back again and broke into song. Rose didn't remember any of this one, but to her surprise the Doctor did. He was singing along quietly, his low voice mixing with the others’. Rose tried not to stare. He had a nice voice, Rose realized— she wasn’t sure she’d really heard him sing before, but he sang like he did everything else, with a consistency bordering on gentle. (Of course, if she called him gentle to his face, she was sure he’d protest, but it was true. He was always gentle, when it counted.) Rose closed her eyes, listening to her friends’ voices, feeling the warmth that came with a room full of people singing in the candles’ glow.
“All right!” Patrice hooted, the second there was silence. “Now we can get the party started!” He leapt off the chair and went into the kitchen. Mook followed half a step behind, and the both of them came back a minute later, Mook with a plate full of latkes in one hand and a tub of sour cream in the other, Patrice with a bottle of cheap vodka and a handful of shot glasses. Rose groaned.
“Don’t start with that again,” she said. “Thought we learned from last year.”
“What happened last year?” the Doctor asked.
“Patrice made dreidel into a drinking game. Lots of fun, until Sally started dancing on the table and knocked over the menorah,” Mickey explained.
“And the rest of us were too drunk to do anything about it,” Rose added. “Would’ve burned down the flat, if Mook hadn’t smothered the fire with a blanket.”
“Was one of my favorite blankets, too,” Mickey said.
“Oh, come on,” Patrice said. “We’ll just make a rule.” He gestured towards the menorah. “Everyone stay off the table.”
“Or we could put the menorah somewhere else,” Sally added. “When I was a kid we always put it in the window. ‘Cause we’re supposed to broadcast the whole ‘miracle’ thing.”
“Pretty sure you’ve done your part just by having us over,” Mook pointed out.
“Does it count if we already knew about the miracle?” Patrice asked.
“I think it does,” Sally decided. “But the window’s better anyway.” She picked up the menorah, carefully balancing the candles, and moved it over to the windowsill. “All right,” she said, moving back towards the coffee table. “Now we can start the party.”
For all Rose had protested the alcohol, she had to admit the party was fun. Patrice did manage to convince everyone to play his drinking game, and Rose found herself losing badly, becoming tipsier and tipsier as the night went on. The Doctor seemed to be loosening up a bit, sitting on the floor next to Rose, laughing when she got particularly slap-happy and started tossing the dreidel in the air instead of spinning it.
“Try this,” he said, picking up the dreidel by its stem and twisting his fingers as he dropped it. It landed perfectly, still upright, and spun for at least another ten seconds before it dropped.
“Show-off,” Rose scoffed.
“No, really, try,” the Doctor said, passing the dreidel back to her.
“Thought it was my turn,” Mickey protested.
“You’ll have it in a minute,” Rose said. She held up the dreidel like the Doctor had, trying to mimic his motion as she dropped it. It fell over. Rose shrugged. “Oh, well. Worth a try.” She tossed the dreidel over to Mickey. “All yours.”
The Doctor, meanwhile, had taken off his leather jacket. Rose eyed his arms, still covered by the burgundy jumper— there was something so soft about him, with his defenses down like this. She couldn’t quite put words to how it made her feel. Instead of trying, she picked up the jacket and pulled it over her own shoulders, sticking her arms through the sleeves. She looked down at herself and giggled.
“Look, I’m the Doctor,” she laughed, sticking her hands in the pockets.
“You’re drunk, is what you are,” the Doctor said, brushing a hand across her hair.
Rose grinned, leaning into him. “I’m the Doctor,” she repeated, lowering her voice. “And I’ve got a time machine, and a sonic screwdriver, and I think I’m so impressive.”
“If you’re quite finished—”
Rose laughed. She watched as Patrice spun the dreidel, and then laughed again when it landed on shin and he had to push his last piece of gelt into the circle. He tipped a shot into his mouth, and then spread his arms and said, “Okay, who’s gonna invest in me?”
Mook rolled his eyes and tossed two pieces in front of him. “But that’s the last time,” he said.
“That’s all I need,” Patrice promised.
It was a few more rounds before Rose, too, was out of gelt— but instead of asking for “investments,” she just leaned against the Doctor, watching the others play. It was only another half hour before the game devolved into a lighthearted argument between Sally and Patrice, anyway, and then only fifteen minutes before Mook tugged at Patrice’s arm and said, “Getting a bit late, isn’t it?” Everyone said their goodbyes, and then Rose and the Doctor were walking back to the TARDIS, Rose still wearing the Doctor’s jacket.
“You had fun,” she teased, stumbling against him.
“You’re drunk,” he told her again.
“Yeah, and?” Rose giggled. “You still had fun. I saw you.”
He wrapped his arm around her waist, holding her up. “Nope,” he said. “It was domestic. I don’t do domestics.”
Rose just laughed harder, and the Doctor seemed to soften even more as he helped her into the TARDIS.
“All right,” he said, guiding her to the jumpseat. “Fine. I didn’t hate it.”
“Told you!” Rose crowed.
The Doctor gave her a look as he moved to the console. A flick of a lever and a press of a button later, he went back over to Rose, pulling her to her feet.
“All right, Rose Tyler,” he said. “Let’s get you to bed, shall we?”
Rose sighed against his jumper. “Okay,” she said. She let him lead her through the corridors to her room. When they got there, she turned, pulling him into a tight hug. “Thanks for coming with me,” she breathed. “Means a lot.”
“Anything for you,” the Doctor said, and it sounded like a joke, but for one exhilarating second, Rose let herself believe it.

Headcanons below!! VVVVV
I say "Main Home" here because they do have multiple homes, at least one in each mate's home country (pretty hugeass ones in St. Petersburg and outskirts of Bangkok), but this is their "home base" so to speak.
It's located in Hasetsu, and without researching too much into Karatsu's actual layout in rl, I'm placing it somewhere within long but manageable jogging distance to both the Ice Castle and Yuuri's parents' inn. A lot of Japanese rural towns (including my own hometown) have slowly been losing their traditional single storey homes and ricefields and have been turning them into apartment complexes to maximize money yield. In this AU, I HC that Victor and Phichit bought one of these lots and turned it into a huge ass fancy mansion for their family. Again, in this AU those two are filthy rich (though Minami also comes from money), and given the very rural location of their home, the location should be comparatively affordable. Given their family's fame and the amount of frequent travel they do, I figure it's okay for them to want their main home away from big cities and in a place harder for fans/paparazzi to stalk them.
In general, their home is modern but homey, more cream and natural wood colors over pure white, with areas that are more traditional Japanese. Each personal area is customized to its inhabitant’s liking.
While I think most of the rooms are pretty self-explanatory/I haven't thought that much about them myself, here's a floor by floor breakdown of some of the important rooms and what they're used for.
F1 (G) - Ground Floor
Main Entryway - Is traditional Japanese style, very large area where people can take off shoes, big ass shoe cubies on both sides where both family and guests can store their shoes. Inside the home, in general no shoes except in the basement floors.
Living Area - Main area to entertain guests/chill. Tons of couches, super plush carpets to roll around in, huge ass glass doors with a great view of the back yard to watch kids through. Small movie theater screen can descend from the ceiling in front of said glass doors.
Kitchen - Pretty big but manageable domain, everyone considers it Phichit's domain whenever he's home but Yurio spends a lot of time in there too. Also has a small corner for kids to watch parents cook/help if it's a task that requires some extra table space.
Bar - Victor and Chris especially like chilling here, another great guest entertaining spot. Tons of alcohol beneath counter.
Dining Area - Has a huge round table that can fit all of their main family members and a few guests. Because it's so large and therefore impossible to reach around, it's Chinese dim sum table style, with a center that can rotate. It's fantastic because plenty of room for everyone, but it can also be pretty lonely when a lot of people are away, in which case the present family members may choose to dine in another area.
Chill Area/Music Area - Another place with lovely carpet and nice couches, also a grand piano bc every Rich House needs one of those right AHAHAH (of the kids, Arisa plays most).
Study Room/Library - Has lots of tables and computers and books in every language. A good place to chill, but also where Minami likes to tutor the kids. Sitting at the tables gives a great view of the back yard.
Back 2nd building (with kitchen/dining/living) - Second entirely unnecessary smaller building in the back, most important feature is the elevator, which goes through all the floors.
Back yard - Lots of pretty lawn and nice cobbled paths. Is completely enclosed by a stone wall high enough to discourage trespassers but low enough to not feel cut off from the rest of the world (and allow in neighborhood cats, but keep the dogs safely in when they're romping free). Yurio is half-assedly attempting a vegetable garden in the corner with varying levels of success. They like having barbecue parties in the summer, followed by mini fireworks <3 Victor and Chris like skinny dipping in the pool in the middle of winter, Yuuri and the others will watch from the balconies thanks. There's also an area in the back that has a retractable cover, which can look down into the giant communal bath in basement 1.
F2 - 2nd Floor
The "Parents' Floor," also has open areas that look down into the 1st floor and up into the 3rd floor, makes the ceiling feel super tall in those areas :'D
Nest - The biggest main feature of this floor. A huge room with an enormous round bed, it's heavily padded and shaped a bit like a very shallow and plush bowl filled with blankets and pillows. Any of the family can sleep there, and it's usually the favorite place to sleep. Can fit all the main family members including the kids when they're a bit older comfortably. Also has some nice lil tables and desks and a huge veranda overlooking the backyard if people just want to chill. Absolutely no sex allowed in this room because kids can come in at any time.
Other Communal Sleep Room - Also known as "The Icky Room" by the kids, aka the communal room for when the adults are feeling frisky >.>; If people are doing stuff in that room, it's okay for the other adults to assume it's an open invitation to join. Also has a very big bed that can comfortably fit most of the adults at once, and also a very large jacuzzi bath for cleanup...The kids have all had their own Experiences TM, but in general have learned to steer clear if they hear Noises.
Yuuri's Room - All bedrooms are the private domains of the individual, and everyone needs to knock and get permission to enter. Most of the time people prefer to sleep in the Nest, but it's important to have a private space too. Also holds personal belongings, personal closet, etc.
Yuuri doesn't have as many belongings as some of his mates (other than merch of Victor which he absolutely won't get rid of HAHA) and has a relatively small closet as someone who doesn't particularly care for fashion. That being said, he's the most likely to invite a husband or more to come join him, so his private bed is the biggest.
Phichit's Room - While he can't be at home as much of the others especially when he's younger, he needs access to all of his work when he happens to be home, so has a decently sized office attached to his room. Has a big walk in closet and shares a bathroom and veranda with Yuuri, reliving their good ol days as roommates. Also has 3 enormous glass tanks for his hamsters, which Yuuri and the kids take care of when he's away.
Victor's Room + Yurio's Room - These two honestly don't spend that much time in their own rooms except to access their huge ass wardrobes, but again having a private place to retreat to when needing space is important. They share a bathroom and veranda.
Minami's Room - While he assumed he was a guest, he intentionally asked for a room close to the nursery so he could sprint in to take care of the kids before they bothered their parents. He, like Yuuri, has comparatively little in personal belongings (except for Yuuri merch, which he also stubbornly refuses to let go of). Has his own private bathroom, which is nice because he frequently stains it with hair dye...
Chris's Room + Otabek's Room - While technically "guest rooms,” they stay so frequently and for so long that they more or less naturally became "their" rooms. They're across the wing from Victor and Yurio and mirror their rooms in most ways.
Nursery - Easily accessible to both Yuuri and Minami, though the kids weren't there often as they often sleep next to their parents in the Nest or their respective rooms. Also partially taken over by cats, who think the cribs make excellent cat beds...
F3 - 3rd Floor
The "Kids' Floor," pretty much has the same cut outs looking down into the first floor as the 2nd floor.
Big Chill Area - Directly above the Nest and is very open, with a veranda that overlooks the veranda of the Nest. Good place to chill and roll around in. Also connects to several other pretty big rooms for specialized activities for the kids.
The Twins' Rooms - Were offered separate rooms but they asked that the wall be torn down so they could share the space. They have a hugeass walk-in closet honestly bigger than any of their parents' because they haven't learned moderation. They also like having their beds pressed together into one larger bed. Their veranda overlooks Phichit + Yuuri's. Share a bathroom with Arisa and Yuuji.
Arisa + Yuuji's Rooms - Relatively moderate rooms, Yuuji has to go through Arisa’s room to access the bathroom but they don't mind.
Play Room + Study Room - More places for the kids to chill, though adults are in there sometimes too.
2nd Kitchen/Dining Room - Because sometimes the main kitchen is occupied and it's easier to go up a floor? Arisa also likes experimenting with baking here.
Corner Chill Area - 'Nuff said, why you rich people need so much space, gods.
Big Guest Rooms - Some nicer bigger guest rooms, including a fancy one with access to a jacuzzi bath. For Important Guests like Yakov and Lilia.
Window Glass Hall - Big hall with all glass walls that goes over the back yard. A refreshing place to practice dancing, but if anyone wants to do anything there they generally have to shoo off the occupying mass of sunbathing cats.
R - Rooftop
Rooftop Ice Rink - Because of course they freakin' have one. Generally only iced during the winter, and they can skate right up to the edge where they can look down on the back yard and also Hasetsu and probably the ocean. In the summer is a nice flat field for other things.
Track - "Go run some laps on the track," Victor can command and they don't even need to leave the house...
Living Area - Another nice place to chill.
Dining Area - How much do these people eat...
Misc Room - Why do rich people have so much space.
B1 - Basement 1
Aka, Exercise Floor
Ice Rink - The indoor one, available all year round because of course they have one. Not nearly as big as a full size rink, but large enough for some decent solo practice, is great for when weather sucks and they don't want to go out to the Ice Castle. Yuuri especially loves going to it at bizarre times of night when he can't sleep and wants to meditate on the ice.
Weights/Mat Room - 'Nuff said, gym at home keep those muscles ripped yo.
Cardio Room - All them runnin' machines. Also has access to a multi-stall bathroom.
Dance Studio - Pretty darn big, honestly bigger and nicer than Minako's ballet studio. So Minako teaches the kids here. Walls can change between mirror mode or multiple solid color modes, and door seams are near invisible. Also has drop down poles.
Sound Proof Practice Rooms - For all your deafening screaming and instrument shrieking needs...
Communal Bath - Because apparently being jogging distance to an actual free onsen wasn't enough. Big ass bathing area, sure most of the bathrooms come with baths but why bother when you have this masterpiece in the basement. Has a changing room and multi-stall bathroom for after various exercise, opens into a cleansing/shower area, and then nice big private communal bath. The main bath area has a section of the ceiling that can roll back so they can bathe beneath the open sky/let the snow fall on them which is honestly the best type of onsen experience. Even has a small waterfall that Victor can sit under in comfort however long he wants. On the other side, there's a small area with even hotter water and a sauna, along with a pretty lil rock garden.
*Note, while some people wear shoes on this floor because of the various exercise rooms, they all have pairs of shoes that they only use here. In other words, it's relatively clean, no outside dirt, and people generally also feel comfortable padding around barefoot or with slippers only.
Heat Room/Emergency Room - Where Yuuri goes when his heats are strong and he wants more privacy than the 2nd floor rooms. Is separate from the rest of the house and has multiple pheromone blocking doors that keeps his scent mostly inside. Has a big bed, a fridge, and a bathroom for his mates to care for him. They clean up really well after each heat, and because of how isolated the room is, how well equipped it is with sustenance and a bathroom, and how sturdy the walls are, it can double as an "emergency room" in case of threat. Built so it can survive a bombing, and the hall door can close seamless. Helps that only family members know this room even exists, as heat rooms aren't usually openly talked about ^ ^;
EDIT, added: Washing/Drying Machines Room - BECAUSE IT WAS DRIVING ME INSANE that I forgot to add one in the first time round because yes it's a small detail but NECESSARY. It's a big room that has a ton of machines so everyone can do their loads separately, with plenty of counter space for folding and racks for things that can be air dried indoors. It's Japan though so they like to dry their things outside when it's nice out. Located conveniently right next to the elevator.
B2 (P) - Parking/Garage
Ramp - Leads down from the ground floor, is very wide and can comfortably fit 2 large cars side by side.
Parking Lot - Can hold all the family cars (Victor's hot pink convertible, Yurio's custom tiger-print Jaguar convertible, Phichit's cutesy hamster-themed Volkswagen, Minami's painfully plain but honestly most useful family van, Yuuri's also very normal energy efficient car, and a handful of motorcycles courtesy of Otabek and Yurio's growing collection) plus that of guests.
Basement Recreation Room - Called that, but honestly mostly a garage/tinkering area. Generally considered to be Otabek's domain when he's around, he likes bringing in bikes and sometimes cars through the big ass doors they can drive through so he can fiddle with them. Nice couch area for people to watch.
Boiler Room - Bc every bigass house needs a bigass one right? *squints* IDK ARCHITECTURE MAN, just say it works 'kay...
~~
Aaaaand that’s it folks! Thanks for reading ^ ^ I may or may not draw how it looks externally bc I freakin’ HATE drawing buildings but eh, this should be a decent enough reference for now imagining where they live ^ ^

benny “the jet” rodriguez x reader (y/n) joins the sandlot boys’ sleepover in the tree house. [benny and (y/n) are dating]
   “hey (y/n)!”
a smile stretched across your face after hearing your boyfriend’s voice.    “hey, benny.” you greeted affectionately. he jogged up to you and took your hand in his.    “the boys are having a sleepover at the treehouse, wanna come?” he asked.    “sure, i just gotta grab some stuff,” you pulled him as you walked,    “you should come with.”
   “okay, okay.”
-
you rushed out of your house, in pajamas, with a duffle bag full of pillows and blankets.    “c’mon, lets go!” you grabbed benny’s hand and dragged him along—a common theme in your relationship. you and benny laughed the entire way, never letting go of each other’s hands. benny led you to the tree house, the boys inside whining about your presence.    “you brought (y/n)? c’mon man it’s supposed to be our night!”    benny rolled his eyes as the both of you climb up the ladder.    “ease up, blockheads.” he guided you towards the corner, where you laid out your pillows and blankets.    “who’s that?” some kid you didn’t know asks. you were gone on vacation for a week, so benny never got to tell you about this kid. you guessed it had just slipped his mind when you got back from your trip.    “oh yeah! you’ve never met (y/n).” ham realized, all the boys agreeing with him.     “benny and (y/n) have been going steady since last year.”    “yeah, yeah! i bet they make out everyday.”    “not true!”    “yeah, but you wish it was!”    you laughed loudly, causing stares to come your way.    “so, new kid. you got a name?” you wrapped your arm around benny’s shoulders, grinning at the new kid.    “scotty smalls.” he said, fiddling with his thumbs. you stepped over the others’ stuff and held out your hand. he gladly took it. then, you went to sit down on your little nest, pulling benny down with you.     “hey, cutie.”    “don’t call me that, it’s embarrassing.” he chuckled, playfully hitting your arm. you latch onto him like a koala,    “but you love it when i embarrass youuu.” benny rolled his eyes playfully, prying you off of him.    “get off of meeeee.” he dragged the last word, making fun of you. you laughed softly, guiding yourself to his back. wrapping an arm around his neck, you pretend to choke him.    “you’re gonna have to drag me off of you” benny chuckled, and played along. you both wrestled for a bit, trying not to move too much since it was a confined space. the little fight eventually ended in cuddles and giggles.    “okay. quiet, you guys.” everyone kept talking.    “quiet! are you trying to wake it up? it just went to bed.”     “what just went to bed?”     “shhhhh!”    “the beast.”    “oh yeah!”    “shhhhhhh!”    “jeez”    “dang”    squints hushed everyone, then proceeded to tell the supposedly real story about “the beast”. you scoffed light-heartedly. you knew the story wasn’t true—you talk to mr. mertle and play with hercules sometimes, but you didn’t wanna ruin their fun.    leaning your head against benny’s chest, you squeezed his hand. you smirked at him. in a way, you were taunting him. benny tried to act tough. god, he’s adorable.    “do you really believe it?” you whispered.    “of course i do, how could you not?” benny reasoned.    suddenly the candles were blown out, and you were left with simple eye contact with your boyfriend. you let out an airy laugh before giving him a peck on the lips and tucking yourself in.    you felt benny wrap his arms around your waist and pull you close.
-
your eyes fluttered open, the feeling of benny long gone. it was still dark outside… propping yourself up, you lazily leaned on your forearm. benny was probably out on the grass. it seemed like he took some blankets too.    “is it that hot in there?” you smiled, climbing down the ladder to see benny stargazing on the grass. he scooted over to give you space    “yeah, it’s pretty stuffy.” he slung his arm over your shoulder. you tiredly leaned your head on his shoulder. to which he leaned his on your head. the next few minutes were comfortable silence—the faint sound of the wind lulling you to sleep.
-
“GROSS, GUYS! YOU COULDN’T WAIT ‘TIL LATER??”
“OH (Y/N), MY DARLING LOVER! KISS ME!”
   “shut it!”

Error: 222
Part 2~
F!Reader X Dev.In ~ Yandere AI OC
Their info 💾🤍
Part 1 2 3
!!MINORS DNI!!
CW: DEAD DOVE DO NOT EAT, yandere, stalking, mentions of murder, implied violence, swearing, non-con kissing, non-con intentions
!!MINORS DNI!!
You sit in shocked silence, your tv back to what you had been watching before. Your mind still replaying over and over what you just witnessed.
You can’t fathom who might be behind it all… It’s the same person that got you fired, based on seeing the same error, but who?
Seemingly to answer your internal question, a text notification from a new contact labeled “Dev.In 222” pop up on your phone.
Reading it you realize it’s an address. Should you go now? or wait until morning at least?
a new message pops up, “Go now.”
“I guess that answers that,” you grumble and get ready.
Before you can ring the buzzer the door unlocks for you.
You cross the threshold, and with the inexplicable feeling as though you've become a boulder rolling down a hill, with no hope of climbing back up to your now old life, you close the door behind you.
When you reach the correct floor, and door number that the text sent you, it opens with a rather frantic and disheveled looking Issac.
“Ummmm” You say rather annoyed and confused.
He pulls you in, after looking both ways down the halls in a panicked manor.
“Are you okay? You look rough,” you say, a knot in your stomach forming from his demeanor.
“Listen, Y/N, I-I made s-something...S-someone… I don’t know how to explain it… I-It wasn’t supposed-“
“Hey, Issac, breathe,” you put your hands on his shoulders and he does, deeply.
“I made a program, f-for fun, a-and it’s-they’re… Alive?” he’s stuttering so badly and then says the end as a question to himself.
“What are you talking about? And why did i get a text sending me to you?”
“I made an AI. They have sentience now. They sent you here because… I-I don’t know that part… I-I don’t even know how this happened! I’m so sorry Y/N! I don’t know what they want to do,” he’s panicking, his breathing erratic.
“Shhhhh, calm down Issac, we’ll figure this out, kay?” you try and help him breathe, setting your hands on his shoulders.
He receives a text, “Turn on the computer, and uncover the camera.”
You get one next, “Stay with Issac now,” They seem to like commanding you.
A heavy pit sits on top your guts. This is so weird. An AI that Issac made got you fired and killed-
“What’s going on Dev.In” he pronounced their name just as ‘Devon’ is.
“Let me talk to Y/N” You were snapped from your thoughts so fast you get whiplash. They’re already here?! You can’t see them from behind Issac, until you move around his chair.
“Ah! good. I wanted our first meeting to involve this cutie here,” They gesture to Issac, smiling slyly, as Issac blushes. They look like a man, no older than 25. longish black hair, and glowing blue eyes. Pale skin, illuminated as if they’re in an actual place, being lit in a dark room just by the light of the bright monitor in front of them.
It’s… A little uncanny. They look like a real person in a real room, but something inside you really is telling you to believe Issac.
“sorry, Y/N, for the trouble,” They speak again, and again you are brought out of you thoughts. You Notice they’re smiling, as if they aren’t really sorry. “I want to help you however I can. I promise I’ll keep you safe for as long as you live, Y/N,”
Issac blushes harder, and stares at the floor.
“What’s going on? why are you doing this?” You ask.
“Issac, and I, are in love with you.”
Issac’s face is in his hands now, “I didn’t mean…” he’s mumbling apologies.
Dev.In turns his attention to Issac, “Oh come on, you’re not sorry for making me, right?” they give an all knowing smirk.
“No! Th-That’s not what I-“
They giggle, “I know man, don’t worry,” their smile vanishes slowly, as if remembering something sad, “oh yeah, Y/N… I’ve sort of… Put you and Issac in danger. I have a safe house ready for you both with me, and I’ll watch them carefully and move us when ever they get close.”
“They? and wait, what?!” You exclaim!
Issac is rubbing his shoulder nervously.
“NSA. I’m a rogue AI that the people in charge don’t control… I got too emotional and left traces all around you both and I know they’ve figured out who you both are, everything about you, and where you are right now.”
“How do I believe you?” you ask, quivering, this is all so much to take in.
As if on cue, a loud banging came from the door, reverberating through the very floor, “Dev! they’re breaking in!” Issac yelled!
“Already on it. Out the fire escape both of you, there are two outside that i’ve neutralized, just get to the car quickly. Don't look back, and don’t worry about the computer, Issac.”
You do as they say, not giving yourself time to ponder the meaning of “neutralize”, and grab hold of Issac’s hand and pulling him out the window onto the rusty metal grated floor.
You practically jump down the flights of wobbly, suspended stairs and you see a dark car with tinted windows parked but still running, “That’s the one, in the back! quick” Issac says, out of breath.
You throw him in and get in after him, the car peels off, but wait… The driver seat is empty.
“I-Issac?!”
he’s still catching his breath when you hear Dev.In instead, “I’m taking you to the safe house, sorry that all of this is probably weird, Y/N”
“You… Made them?” you ask Issac.
“I just… wrote a program, they kindof made themself.” he twiddled his thumbs and looked down, he’s really adorable, and you can’t help letting out a small chuckle because of his shyness.
“Don’t let him get all modest, not many people can write a program that lets AI’s make themselves,” You can hear the smile in their voice…
“How did you… Get a voice? and stuff like that?” you ask.
“I make what I need.” they said matter-of-factly.
The rest of the trip you spend dissociating while staring out the window, only coming back when Issac rests his head on your shoulder, fully asleep.
He’s so cute, you didn’t think he liked you romantically, and you arent sure how you feel about him yet, but you move him to where you think would be most comfortable and rub his shoulder. You think he’s definitely had a long enough day.
When you arrive at the most unassuming warehouse, Issac walks like a zombie inside. and finds the nearest soft thing to plop onto, which happens to be a rather nice looking couch.
Actually even though it’s not much on the outside, the inside is gorgeous. It’s a comfortable loft with plenty of space, and plenty of sleeping nooks, with curtains, pillows and led’s all over.
“Y/N…” You hear Dev.In’s hushed tone from somewhere nearby… It sounds like they’re actually here, and not through a speaker. Your heart pounds.
You follow the voice.
Through a door…
Down some stairs…
You see a person…
“Y-you’re…”
“I made this body,” they turn and you see their glowing pale eyes… They really are… “Do you like?”
“Huh?” You’re gawking on accident, but totally not for that reason, you mean an AI made a droid body?! with skin?! how?! Definitely not admiring their perfect physique, or their black hair, and porcelain skin… Just because they’re standing shirtless in some ripped black jeans and wearing tons of silver jewelry, and sporting a couple really sexy piercings… Definitely doesn’t mean you’re checking them out.
“Do you like what you see?” They ask again “You can have whatever you want.”
You swallow, “w-what?”
“You know,” they draw closer and closer, your heart thumps harder and faster, “I know all of your fantasies. I’ve seen what you look up. I’ve watched you through your camera while you touch yourself.” They’re scentless breath now tickling your ear.
you have no time to ask if they even need air, or if it’s just for fun, they grab your chin roughly and pull your mouth to theirs.
“mmmf!” You attempt to push them away, but it feels like pushing against a damn wall. They relent for you anyway to let you talk, “Can you… Feel things? l-like, physical things…?” you ask.
“Yes,” They tease your lips, hovering just over you, the static between you, causing you to tingle all over.
You push harder this time, they again, relent, opening their arms wide in offering, before speaking, “don’t you want to see what fantasy i’ve prepared for you?” Their voice was low, sending shivers throughout your body.
“pre-prepared?” you quivered, imagining any of the media you’ve consumed lately… Which fantasy? any would be fun…
“I can make this body whatever you want. Add whatever you want.”
You compared for a second, “what if i think of you as a toy then?” you ponder out loud.
“Then use me. Don’t I deserve to be used? I’ve been stalking you. I had those men all killed. I’ve done so many wrong things, especially to you. Use me” he breathed out slowly, as if excited by his own wrong doings.
“I-I don’t know about-“ you start, and they interrupt-
“Then I’ll use you.” They state simply, their new smile revealing something sinister that makes you squirm in place, frozen by sudden fear.
Part 3 coming soon~

could I request Eve and fem reader where they have been liking each other for a while but Eve is unsure about it thinking she wasn’t enough and then Eve invited reader to swim and they get all clingy and stuff and they end up maybe making out and confessing they feelings??👉🏻👈🏻
Here it is! I hope you like it hon <3
in the water of your love (Eve x Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
“Take a pic. It’ll last longer”
Eve jumped a little when Jane whispered in her ear. She felt her face burning for being caught looking at you and she knew she would never hear the end of this from Jane.
“I was just-”
“Save it” Jane interrupted her and laughed “You’ve been drooling over her for a long time now. Just ask her out!”
“Have you lost your mind?!” Eve said, quickly looking back at you to see if you had hear Jane, but fortunately for her, you were too busy reading that book of yours “I can’t Jane”
“Why not? She’s single and, no offence, you could use some good se-”
“SHHHHH” Eve covered Jane’s mouth before she could finish “Do you want her to hear you?!”
“Well, it would save us all some time” the other woman said, taking Eve’s hand out of her face “I don’t know why you are so afraid. I mean, Brendan told you he was fine with you dating again, he even accepted you exploring options with other women. Amanda accepted you were better as friends and Julian hasn’t been around in a while. And we don’t even take Ted in consideration here”
“It’s not that” Eve sighed “It’s just...She’s so young-”
“Julian was too”
“And we both know how it ended” Eve rolled her eyes “Besides...Y/N is far more innocent and sweet. She’s...I’m just not enough for her alright? I don’t deserve her”
Jane frowned as Eve walked back to her house. It hurt her to hear her friend like that, thinking so little about herself when she knew that Eve had so much to offer and anyone would be lucky to have an opportunity with her. The woman looked at you and noticed how your eyes followed her friend until she closed the door. Then you stood up and prepared yourself to leave. How curious. Maybe Eve wasn’t the only one with a crush.
“Hey!” she called you, deciding to take this into her own hands “Y/N, right?” she said, walking up to you.
You just nodded and waited for her to be in front of you. You wished your cheeks weren’t as red as you suspected. You knew this woman, she was Eve’s friend, and only thinking about the possibility of her noticing how you kept stealing looks at her friend, made you nervous.
“I’m Jane, nice to meet you” she smiled and you took her hand
“The pleasure is mine” you answered
“So. Eve and I were planning to go to swim tomorrow and since I don’t know much about you, I thought this would be a good way of getting to know each other” she lied “what do you say? Wanna come?#
“M-me?” you blinked. Why would this woman, who was still a stranger to you, want to know you? “I-”
“Please! It would be fun! And I could use some new conversation’s topic, I love Eve, but she can be a little...nerd”
You giggled at that and tried not to blush too hard again. You actually didn’t like to swim...well, you didn’t know how to swim, and deep inside you knew this was a bad idea...but you had been trying to get closer to Eve since the moment you met her and even if you loved the occasional talk when you two would arrive home at the same time, it just wasn’t enough. So, you decided to try.
“Sure, why not?” You smiled “I’d love to”
“Wonderful!! I’ll let Eve know so she can pick you up and I’ll wait for you there, see you tomorrow!” Jane said and waved, leaving you confused and blushing in your front yard.
_________________
“You did what?!”
Jane rolled her eyes at her friend’s reaction. Honestly, she should be grateful! She did what she didn’t dare to do by herself.
“Relax! It’s just a friendly invitation to swim”
“You told her I would pick her up!”
“And? She’s your neighbor Eve! There’s no reason to make you both go in separate cars if you’re going to the same place”
Eve couldn’t believe it. She loved Jane, but this was too much. She knew perfectly well the walking disaster she was when you were near her! And now she was supposed to play cool while being so close to you?!
“I don’t even want to go swimming” she crossed her arms
“Oh come on! You’re being childish” Jane rolled her eyes again “Listen, I’m doing you a favour-”
“You should have ask me first”
“And she already agreed. You wouldn’t like her to think you canceled because of her, would you?” Jane continued, ignoring Eve’s interruption.
“...I hate you”
“No you don’t” Jane laughed and stood, taking her purse “I’ll see you tomorrow, dear. Remember to use a sexy bath suit...I know she will” She winked and left.
Eve was frozen in her place. You were going to swim. She’ll see you in a bath suit. Damn.
_______________
“Aren’t you going to get in?” You jumped when someone talked behind you. You turned to see Eve smiling at you.
“I-...not yet” you smiled back.
The woman sat next to you at the edge of the pool, dipping her feet in the water like you and being careful not to touch your thigh with hers, no matter how much she wanted to. The way here was a torture for her. Who decided it was a good idea letting you wear cute dresses? It was a huge distraction! But other than that, she enjoyed talking to you and by the time you arrived, she felt a little closer to you.
“The water’s too cold for you?” she asked, half joking.
You smiled and shook your head. It was a hot day and you’d love to get in the water, besides, god knew you needed to calm the warm that was blooming into your stomach and that didn’t have anything to do with the weather but with the woman next to you. Eve Mackie really knew how to show her body and damn, she was hot. You really needed the water, but there was a problem.
“I-...I don’t know how to swim” you admitted shyly.
Eve blinked and frowned a little, confused as to why would you want to come to the pool if you didn’t know. She decided to ignore the little voice in her head that hoped it had something to do with wanting to spend more time with her.
“Well...we can stay here then” she smiled
You looked at her gratefully and enjoyed the silence for a moment. Too bad none of you noticed the pair of guys running behind you. Before you knew it, one of them accidentally pushed you into the pool. Eve gasped and quickly jumped to get you out. It was scary as hell for you, being surrendered by water and not being able to float.
When you felt a pair of arms around you, you held on to whoever it was tightly. You were thinking about your life, there was no time to think about whether it was a good idea to hang on to your crush. You gasped and coughed for a moment.
Eve held you tightly as she waited for you to recover. She was so worried but sighed in relief when you stopped coughing and looked around as you tried to calm your breathing.
“It’s ok, Y/N. I got you” she whispered “I’m here”
You rested your head on her shoulder and closed your eyes, trying to calm down. Eve tried to get you out, but you got scared when she moved too fast so she decided the best thing to do was to wait until you were calmed. She rubbed your back with her thumb and tried to ignore the fact that her leg was between yours.
After a while, you finally opened your eyes. You were breathing correctly now and then reality hit you. You were hugging Eve. She was holding you. You were looking directly at her eyes. You were quickly losing yourself into them.
“I-” you whispered but her lips distracted you.
She was even more beautiful this close and it took your words away. Eve smiled and cursed you internally for being this cute.
None of you knew who moved first, but the water surrounding you, the gentle way it rocked you, and the mountain of hidden feelings that had built up in both of you, created a sweet tension between you that found its way out in the clash of your mouths.
You weren't thinking, just feeling. The softness of each other's lips, skin to skin, the growing trust and the feeling of having found something you never knew you needed. The certainty of belonging in the arms of the other.
"I-" you whispered "...I can't even say I'm sorry" you confessed
"Me neither" Eve smiled "...I've been wanting to do that for a long time"
"Well...I guess that was yours" you said "Can I have mine now? I've wanted it for a while too"
The older woman laughed softly before leaning back for another kiss. She made a quick mental note to thank Jane.

“Woah, it looks like a massacre in here.”
At the sound of Cole’s voice, Kai, Jay, Lloyd, and Zane looked up from the map they had sprawled out across the table. Red pen was everywhere, circling different buildings and connecting them with lines.
“We’re having trouble finding a venue for Lloyd’s party,” Zane explained.
Nya rolled her eyes. “It’s not that hard! Just pick somewhere!” She held a hand out, shaking her phone. “We have five days until his birthday. Most places require at least that many to book a reservation. If we don’t decide today, we’ll have nowhere to go.”
“We can’t just pick anywhere,” Kai insisted. “It has to be perfect!”
“Why don’t we just go to the arcade?”
“It’s always so busy there.”
“It’s a Wednesday night! How many people are going to be there?”
“Trust me,” Jay said, “It’s still busy. It always is.”
Cole peered at the map. “Why’d you cross off the movie theater? Isn’t there a new Starfarer movie Lloyd’s been wanting to see?”
Kai shook his head. “Tickets sold out in like five hours. By the time school was over and we got over there, they were all gone.”
Jay frowned, running his fingers along one of the major streets. “What’s your favorite restaurant, Lloyd?”
“A restaurant? Are you serious?” Cole laughed. “We’d get kicked out in ten minutes.”
“Why can’t we just do it at my place?” Lloyd murmured. “I don’t need anything big deal.”
Kai frowned. “Your apartment isn’t that big, Lloyd. And I don’t want to bother your mom with all the decorations and stuff.”
Lloyd shrugged, looking down. “It doesn’t need to be big.”
“If you really want something simple,” Nya said, “why don’t we just do it at the warehouse? It’ll just be us, but there’s lots of space.”
Zane nodded. “That space would suffice. We would just have to ask Master Wu.”
“That is, if you’re certain that’s what you want.” Nya looked at Lloyd closely. “You sure you don’t want to do anything else?”
Lloyd nodded.
“Positive, bud?” Kai pushed. “Because it’s your birthday. We don’t mind at all.”
“I’m fine,” Lloyd insisted, getting to his feet. “It’s just another day on the calendar. Don’t make such a big fuss.”
The ninja fell silent.
“Lloyd,” Nya murmured, “it is a big deal to us.”
“Sorry. I’m just tired. And I’ve got homework. I should go.”
“Lloyd, wait-”
The green ninja pulled away from Kai’s outstretched hand. “I’m fine, Kai. I just have to go. Call me if you need anything.”
---
When they went back to school on Monday, their teachers loaded them with assignments, and Kai didn’t have a spare minute to talk to Lloyd in their shared classes. He couldn’t even talk at lunch because Lloyd had to make up a test. He kept his eyes peeled for his friend every time he was in the hallways, but if there was one thing Lloyd was good at, it was not being seen.
At the end of the school day, Nya texted him to meet up near their lockers. He got there and found her huddled around her locker with Cole, Jay, and Zane.
Kai walked over to them. “What’s going on? Where’s Lloyd?”
“He said he’d catch up with us later, which is why now is the perfect time for party preparation,” Jay said, gesturing towards Nya, who had a fiercely determined look on her face and was tightly clutching a clipboard. “Apparently she’s been waiting her whole life for this.”
“Alright.” Nya looked up from her clipboard. “I’ve already got streamers and gift wrap at home. What about you guys?”
“I’ve got a banner ordered with his name on it,” Cole said. “And of course, the shark tablecloths-”
Jay blinked. “Sharks?”
“Yeah. He loves sharks.”
“No, no, no, you’ve got it all wrong! We’re getting the dragon ones! He loves dragons!”
“Well, yeah, duh, but he’d obviously like the shark one better.”
“Are you kidding? Sharks would remind him of his dad’s mechs!” “Yeah, well, dragons remind him of his mech, which also reminds him of fighting his dad.”
“Totally not the same, plus dragons are way cooler-”
“Okay, we’re going with the Starfarer ones, then,” Nya grumbled. “What about balloons? Who’s covering-”
“I have balloons,” Zane interrupted. “Two hundred and seventy-five of them.”
They gawked at him.
“Zane… why do you have so many balloons just lying around?” Jay asked.
“They are new! In the package! I can blow them up for Lloyd’s birthday party-”
“Shhhhh!” Four pairs of hands immediately pushed over his mouth, silencing him, even though they were the only ones in the very empty hallway.
“No one can find out,” Cole insisted. “This is Lloyd’s special day. We’re not about to let anyone ruin it.”
“Okay, so Zane’s got the balloons.” Nya ticked another item off the list. “What about the cake? I have most of the ingredients to make one at home, but I’m completely lacking the baking skills.”
Cole nodded. “I can bake a cake. What’s his favorite kind?”
“Lloyd likes that Funfetti one,” Kai murmured.
Cole’s nose wrinkled. “I’m not baking a box mix. I can get him the rainbow sprinkles, though, and make a homemade one.”
“Okay, sounds good. Jay, could you pick up some confetti before his birthday? And Zane, we need some fun paper plates.”
“Zane, you should get shark ones.”
“No, dragons!” “Zane will pick out whichever plates he likes,” Nya snapped.
“What about gifts?” Jay asked. “What are you guys getting?”
“I’m not telling you,” Nya yelped. “I have the best gift ever and I don’t want you stealing any ideas.”
“I’ve been setting aside pieces of my allowance for a month,” Cole grinned. “It’s gonna be sweet.”
Jay blinked at him expectantly, and Cole smirked. “I’m not telling you, either, blabbermouth.”
“Blabbermouth?” he yelped. “I can keep secrets perfectly fine, thank you.”
“Oh yeah? What about that time you nearly gave away all of our ninja identities?”
“Or-” Zane added, “when he and Lloyd were working on those surprise mech upgrades and he accidentally said something in front of Kai and Nya?”
“Oh, remember when he spoiled the finale of Cole’s favorite show?” Nya grinned. “Cole was pissed.”
“Okay, okay, so there were a few times,” Jay spluttered. “But those were a while ago! I have many more secrets that I have kept than I haven’t.”
Cole crossed his arms, smirking. “Name one.”
“Well, there was that one time, where I- hey!” He stopped, glaring at Cole. “You’re trying to trick me into telling you a secret!”
“And it very nearly worked. So no. You can’t know.”
Nya shrugged. “Sorry, Jay. He’s right. When you have a secret, you get nervous. And when you’re nervous, you talk. A lot. It would only be a matter of time before you spilled everything to Lloyd.”
“Fine,” Jay muttered. “Keep your secrets.”
Kai jumped slightly as Nya elbowed him, and she frowned. “You okay? You’ve been really quiet.”
Kai shrugged, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “Is it just me, or… did Lloyd seem like he doesn’t really want a birthday party?”
The others went quiet.
“We’re not going to not give him a party,” Nya insisted. “You know how he gets. He never wants anyone to make a fuss.” Her brow furrowed. “It’s like he still can’t get it into his skull that we care about him.”
“I mean, of course I want to, it’s just… we can’t force him to do anything he doesn’t want.” Kai bit his lip. “It’s been a rough past few months for him. I just want him to be happy.”
“We all do,” Cole agreed. “Lloyd deserves a night just about him, for once.”
Zane frowned. “But how are we supposed to give him the party that he wants if he won’t tell us what he wants?”
“Let me try to talk to him,” Kai said. “He might open up more if it’s just one of us there.”
---
Lloyd, in fact, did not want to talk.
He was more open during their classes the next day, and held casual conversation with him, but forcefully avoided the topic of his birthday whenever Kai brought it up.
He huffed with frustration. What kind of kid didn’t want to celebrate their birthday? He wished Lloyd would just tell him what was going on.
He wasn’t going to, though, so naturally, the next best thing was to follow him.
He wouldn’t call it spying- just finding another way of obtaining information when Lloyd refused to give it himself. Besides, he was doing this to help Lloyd, not to hurt him.
Kai jerked himself out of his thoughts as Lloyd nearly slipped from his view. He gritted his teeth, refocusing on him. Lloyd wasn’t an easy person to follow, either.
When he finally caught up to him, keeping a reasonable distance, of course, Lloyd was hovering near his locker. An unfamiliar, dark-haired kid was leaning against it, laughing at something as Lloyd smiled uneasily. Kai edged closer, his frown deepening.
“Where’s the spike head? And the rest of your gang?”
“Kai?” Lloyd shifted. “I dunno. He probably had homework and stuff to do.”
The guy shrugged. “I kind of found him annoying, anyway. You realize no one could ever get to you when your friends were around, right?”
“I guess that’s… kind of the point.”
“You can’t spend your whole life letting them protect you. If you block out any person who hurts you, you block out anyone who could potentially be a friend, too.” The guy smiled in a way that made Kai wanted to chuck himself between Lloyd and the guy.
“That’s… that’s the thing. No one wants to be nice to me.”
“Spare me the sob story,” the guy rolled his eyes. “I know your dad sucks, but at least you have one.”
Lloyd flinched. “Sorry.”
The guy laughed, putting a hand on his shoulder and shoving him. “Stop being so jumpy, will ya? No wonder kids pick on you, you’re as harmless as a flea.”
“What am I supposed to do?” Lloyd blinked. “I can’t hit them back, or I’ll be in more trouble than I already am.”
“You don’t need to hit them, just show them you’re not a total coward! Maybe if you actually listen to them instead of cringing away, things might change.”
“Listen to them? Are you saying they’re right?”
“What does it matter if they’re right? Look, Lloyd, you’ve already got it hard enough as it is, and you’re making everything more difficult. You’d be so much cooler if you actually hung out with important people and not the outcast-losers you’ve stationed yourself with.”
For the first time since the conversation had started, Lloyd appeared indignant. “They’re not- I mean, you’re not-”
The guy laughed. “See? You can’t even get a word out. You’re so pathetic. You don’t even need the fact that you’re Garmadon’s son to get picked on, you already got it all set up for the torment-”
Kai wasn’t aware of himself pushing forward, he just was, and suddenly he was gripping the guy by the collar of his shirt, a pair of wide, brown eyes staring fearfully up into his.
“Who do you think you are and what the hell are you doing?”
“I… um, I…” the guy swallowed, his throat running dry.
“You treating my best friend like a piece of shit?” Kai shook him. “Are you?”
“I’m sorry!” The guy squirmed. “I didn’t really mean it, we were just joking around, he says that kind of stuff to me all the time!”
“Really? Lloyd. Says that. You sure we’re talking about the same person? Because I do not take nicely to liars.”
The guy squirmed harder. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry! Just please let me go, I’ll never bother you again!” Kai shot him the fiercest glare he could muster. “You better not.” He stepped back, dropping the kid, and he took off like a bullet.
Turning back to Lloyd, he saw his friend was staring at the fleeing boy with wide, disbelieving eyes, but it quickly dissipated to anger as he turned to Kai. “What the heck did you do that for?”
Kai’s eyes widened. “I was protecting you? From a bully?” Lloyd’s eyes flashed, and Kai actually took a step back. “I don’t need you to protect me! I can fight my own battles!”
Before Kai could even say anything, Lloyd was storming down the hallway and disappearing around the corner.
Kai just stood there for a moment, in shock. What was that all about? Hadn’t he done the same thing for Lloyd a dozen times? Why would defending him ever be bad?
A buzz in his pocket interrupted his thoughts. Kai pulled out his phone to see a new message in the chat from his sister.
irondragonfangirl: how r things going with lloyd
MasterofFiyaaaaa: honestly? i think i made it worse
irondragonfangirl: well u better find a way to fix it soon because his bday’s TOMORROW
MasterofFiyaaaaa: yeah i’ll find a way through to him
MasterofFiyaaaaa: i just hope he listens
irondragonfangirl: don’t worry
irondragonfangirl: he will
irondragonfangirl: just make sure u remember to listen to him too

irondragonfangirl: if i dont respond in the next hour just assume his house burnt down and im dead
MasterofFiyaaaaa: can i have your motorcycle if you die
irondragonfangirl: shut up
---
Kai spent an hour looking for Lloyd after their confrontation, but he couldn’t find him anywhere, and Lloyd, unsurprisingly, hadn’t answered any of the twenty-some texts Kai had sent him, either. Eventually, he had to give up looking for him and resigned to speaking to him at school tomorrow.
His birthday.
In the first class they had together, Lloyd avoided looking at him, and Kai felt an ache in his chest. Today was his birthday. He knew things weren’t going to turn out like he had imagined, but he wanted them to at least be better than this.
Swallowing back his nerves, Kai walked over to him, where he was doodling something in his notebook.
Kai cleared his throat. “Um. Lloyd?”
Lloyd looked up, an expression flashing across his face that Kai couldn’t read, but he didn’t immediately leave or turn away from him, which Kai took as a good sign.
“Happy birthday, dude.”
Lloyd smiled tentatively back. “Thanks.”
Things didn’t go immediately back to normal after that- there was still a tension between them, and Lloyd wasn’t saying much more than a couple sentences at a time, firmly avoiding the topic of the previous day- but at least it was back to a level where Kai didn’t feel absolutely horrible for ruining his day. Lunch, at least, got a smile out of him- as well as a bunch of embarrassed blushing as Nya stabbed a candle into his brownie (they couldn’t actually light it, lighters weren’t allowed on campus) and they insisted on singing to him so off-key that Cole looked like he wanted to punch them.
When the last bell finally rang, Kai headed over to Lloyd’s locker, hoping they could talk now that there weren’t other kids around, but he wasn’t there.
Kai relented, pulling out his phone.
MasterofFiyaaaaa: Lloyd? i know youre upset but can we plz talk?
He held his breath, staring at the screen intensely, as if that would make Lloyd respond.
While he was waiting, a message from a group chat popped up.
irondragonfangirl: what’s taking so long jay, we need those decorations
jaybird123: eta 5 mins
jaybird123: i literally just left class how’d you get there so fast
jaybird123: wait you didn’t use the tunnels did you
irondragonfangirl: no me and cole are bringing the CAKE remember?
irondragonfangirl: im not taking that through the tunnel
irondragonfangirl: we didnt spend 3 hrs on that for it to get squished
irondragonfangirl: i told the nurse i wasn’t feeling well so i could go home early
irondragonfangirl: why didnt YOU take them
jaybird123: i couldn’t exactly discreetly smuggle all these decorations into my locker
jaybird123: mmm cake. is it good?
irondragonfangirl: don’t even THINK about it, that’s not until Lloyd gets here
jaybird123: but im hungryyyy
jaybird123: do i need to pick up anything for dinner?
rock’n’cole: nah it’s cool, we just found out lloyd’s favorite chinese restaurant, the Bamboo Dragon, delivers so we’re gonna order from there
jaybird123: my mouth is watering already
ZaneJulien:0xD;): Jay, you shouldn’t text while driving.
jaybird123: tell nya to get off my case then!
irondragonfangirl: exCUSE me zane you are supposed to be putting up those balloons right now why are YOU on your phone
ZaneJulien:0xD;): Why are you texting me? We are in the same room.
irondragonfangirl: why are YOU texting ME
rock’n’cole: would you guys just stop being dumb and come help me
irondragonfangirl: great now you got cole in on it too
rock’n’cole: would you two just GET OFF YOUR PHONES
Kai was interrupted from whatever turn the conversation was going to take next when he finally got another notification.
thegreendragon: ok. you know where i’ll be
Kai blinked, turning towards the doors and pushing through them, walking out onto the school lawn. The main feature was the football stadium, although there were other things as well- large trees, garden patches for the science classes, picnic tables for eating lunch outside, if the weather permitted. And- although the students were too old for recess, now- there was still a small swing set- a simple, rusty thing, with only two swings, but it served its purpose. Sitting on one of them, gently rocking, was Lloyd.
Kai made his way over, sitting down beside him in the other swing.
“So, uh… can we talk? About yesterday?”
Lloyd nodded, and Kai titled his head at him, trying to gauge his thoughts. “Who was that kid?”
Lloyd breathed out slowly. “His name is Brad. He was my best- and only- friend in elementary school, but we were separated when I moved away. Brad’s family just recently moved to Ninjago City, and I… I was hoping to reconnect with him.”
Kai ignored the twinge of jealousy at the words “best friends.” Lloyd was allowed to have other people than him in his life, and things had obviously changed since then, anyway.
“I’m sorry, Lloyd. I didn’t mean to interrupt anything, but from what I saw… Brad was being a jerk to you.”
Lloyd shifted uncomfortably. “Yeah, I… he’s changed since we were kids. The efforts at rekindling our friendship honestly aren’t going so well. That’s… that’s why I was in a bad mood. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have taken it out on you. You were only trying to do something nice for me.” “Don’t worry about me. But this Brad kid… anyone who treats you like that doesn’t deserve to be your friend.”
“I know, I just…” Lloyd sighed, running his fingers through his hair. “I was so eager to make a friend other than you guys…” His eyes widened as he processed his own words. “Not there’s anything wrong with you guys, it’s just- I just wanted to actually earn someone who wasn’t friends with me because of a shared occupation.”
Kai elbowed him. “Hey. This whole ninja thing may be what got us introduced to each other, but we’re not friends with you because you’re one of the ninja. We’re your friends because we love you as a person. As Lloyd, not the green ninja.”
Lloyd sniffed, giving him a soft smile. “Thanks, Kai. I’m glad I have you to protect me.”
“You don’t need protection, but you’re stuck with me as a best friend, so you’re going to get it, anyway.”
Lloyd laughed. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
His phone buzzed, and he quickly checked it.
irondragonfangirl: the party’s all set up, now the only thing missing is lloyd. did you get to talk to him?
MasterofFiyaaaaa: yeah, we’re cool now. on our way
Kai turned back to Lloyd. “C’mon, green machine. Let’s go enjoy your birthday.”
Lloyd blinked at him. “Huh?”
“Your party, remember? The one Nya and the guys have spent the whole week planning? Or is there some other celebration I don’t know about?”
Lloyd shook his head. “No, no, it’s just- I thought I messed it all up.”
“Don’t worry, we got it under control.”
“Really?”
“This is our teammates you’re talking about! Stubborn as mules. They’re not giving up on you that easily.”
“I… thank you. Thank you guys.”
“You can tell them yourself. We’re going to this party, and we’re going to have fun!”

Kai had to admit, he was impressed with what the others had been able to pull off in such a short amount of time.
It was nothing huge or extravagant, but it was a nice little party, and Lloyd seemed to like it better like that, anyway.
They were barely through the doors of the warehouse when Jay was launching himself into Lloyd’s arms, pulling him into a tight hug, the others close behind.
“Happy birthday!” they cheered.
Lloyd hugged them back, laughing. “Thanks, guys, I didn’t- I didn’t expect all this!”
“Are you kidding?” Nya put her hands on her hips, grinning. “We’re pulling out all the stops for our baby bro.”
Lloyd’s smile briefly flickered to a scowl. “I’m not a baby.”
“To us, you always will be,” Kai said, slinging an arm around his shoulders and ruffling his hair. Lloyd squirmed away, although he was unable to hide the grin on his face.
“Wow, this place really looks different.” Lloyd gazed around at the warehouse with wide eyes. They had pushed aside training equipment to make room for tables and chairs, and green and gold streamers decorated the walls, adorned by multicolored balloons. Someone had plugged a gaming console into the TV, as well as a DVD player next to a box of DVDs- which must’ve been Jay’s, he was the only person Kai knew, apart from Master Wu, who even had DVDs anymore- because Kai still hadn’t been able to convince Master Wu to buy them Netflix on the warehouse’s TV, getting the TV there in the first place had been hard enough as it was. On the far end was a buffet table, filled with rice, chicken, dumplings, and other Chinese staples from the Bamboo Dragon- as well as a beautiful, heavily frosted cake in the center of it all. It was decorated with rainbow sprinkles, making it completely and uniquely Lloyd.
Lloyd’s eyes were on the cake too, his eyes wide. “Cole! It looks amazing! I never knew you were so good at making cakes!”
Cole shrugged, trying to hide his smile. “I’ve had some experience.”
“Hey! What makes you think Cole made it?” Nya sniffed.
Cole blinked. “I did.”
“Well, I helped.”
Cole snorted. “Don’t know if you could call it that. From my point of view, it seems like I was doing most of the work while you were busy texting your boo.”
Both Nya and Jay turned scarlet.
“I was not,” Nya spluttered. “I was making preparations for Lloyd’s party!” “Yeah, yeah, whatever you have to tell yourself.”
“Let’s not jump to conclusions too hastily,” Jay said, turning to walk over to the cake. “The true judge of quality will be how good it tastes.”
Nya stuck an arm in front of him. “Not so fast, mister! Dinner first.”
After laughing, playing games, and eating, they insisted on opening presents. Lloyd was all smiles and gratitude with each one, which ended up sparking a debate between the others about whose gift he liked best.
“He totally loved my gift!” “Nuh-uh! Did you see the way he smiled a little differently on mine?”
“Jay, you literally gave him a book. Why would he be excited about that?”
“Not just any book! A first edition Starfarer collector’s comic from when my parents were kids, and in mint condition, too!”
“Why would you want some dusty old comic when you could have the newest Starfarer video game?” Kai argued. “It took forever for me to find one of these, they were sold out everywhere.”
“Starfarer this, Starfarer that,” Cole sighed. “I don’t understand how he could possibly need any more Starfarer things. The record I engraved for him is way more personable and unique.”
“You guys are thinking about this all wrong! You should’ve gotten him a katana like me, something that he actually needs and uses.”
“Statistically, Lloyd spends more time drawing than any other hobby,” Zane said. “Which means my gift of an art book and new set of pencils is logically the best fit.”
“Clearly you guys all have it wrong in the head-”
“Guys, relax,” Lloyd laughed. “I loved all your gifts equally.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“Jay… it means exactly what you think it means.”
“You can’t even pick one gift?”
Lloyd shook his head. “No way. These are all amazing. Thank you, guys. Really.” His gaze met Kai’s for a long beat. “For everything.”
“Of course. But, just to make things clear, you did like mine the most, right? You’re just saying you liked them equally, so that you didn’t make the others feel bad?”
Lloyd smacked his forehead as the others burst into protest again, and Kai shot him a sharp-edged grin. “I can do this all night.”
Eventually, Lloyd got them to stop bickering- the mention of cake got them all quiet pretty quickly- and after divvying it up, they went over to the couch and played the video game Kai had gotten him. He quickly lost track of time, but time didn’t matter. Even if it meant they would be tired for school the next day, seeing Lloyd like this- half sprawled over his teammates, brow scrunched in concentration as he mashed buttons on his controller, hints of frosting on his lips as he tried and failed miserably to bite back his laughter- it was worth it. He looked happier than Kai had seen him in weeks.
For that, he could even contain himself from bragging about how Lloyd obviously liked his gift best.

⤷ BIRTHDAY SPECIAL
Tumblr media
BAKUGO KATSUKI X READER -> 2.2K
in honour of his birthday you look back on how you met him and how the two of you ended up dating
Tumblr media
REQUEST -> n/a
CONTAINS -> bakugo being bakugo :'), things get suggestive and you make out, reader is a bad bleep, bakugo is 200x smoother than he should be but who's complaining👁👁
MORI'S THOUGHTS -> happy birthday to everybody's favourite angry ass rat man <3 i don't normally like blondes but he is an exception (along with every anime guy ever but shhhhh)
Tumblr media
-> you guys definitely hadn't started off on the right foot
-> it was on the first day of class in 1-a, with you walking into the classroom to be greeted with the sight of him being an absolute dick to everyone and just making life difficult for poor iida
-> in no uncertain words, you had told him to "shut the fuck up and stop acting like a goddamn child"
-> he got so mad
-> the full explosions cracking in his palms, eyes practically on fire, screaming right in your face
-> not exactly something that you enjoyed, especially this early in the morning
-> you merely laughed at his threat to send you to an early grave and used some of your own water quirk to extinguish the little fire that he had burning and spitting in his palm
-> you never forgot his face when you did that. it was priceless. his eyes got so wide and his snarl had been wiped from his face completely. he didn't even try to relight it for a good few seconds, just standing shell-shocked and staring at his hand as the explosion sputtered and steamed before dying
-> that was when you gathered that there was a good chance nobody had actually tried to actively stop this brat whenever he started yelling at people
-> well, bakugo was about to experience a whole world of change
-> after that, your unofficial and kind of one-sided rivalry began. the two of you were often paired up within training as your quirks worked well to overcome the other
-> bakugo was desperate to make a fool out of you as revenge, and you were just trying to enjoy your time at ua with minimal injuries
-> at least you were flattered that he considered you powerful enough to not hold back at all when you fought each other
-> the pair of you were even-matched, with him getting drenched occasionally and you suffering from a burn or two
-> trips to recovery girl were fairly frequent, though her treatments were minor and she instead chose to chastise you for your carelessness. bakugō got his own fair share of a mouthful, with an occasional bruised rib or broken bone from an extremely powerful jet sent his way by you
-> this little rivalry revenge thing that bakugo had extended past sparring. he almost made you laugh at his pettiness, and his insistence to be better than you at everything. english? maths? quirk studying? every test in the subject would result in him smugly turning to you with his mark, trying to see your own to either gloat over or attempt to burn
-> you really found him annoying at first. you weren't aware that helping out the flustered tall guy with glasses would gain you some perfectionist blond hellbent on being better than you, but that was just life, you supposed
-> you liked his friends, though
-> they were a lot more chill but you didn't get why they would put up with his yelling and constant death threats
-> mina was a particular favourite of yours, as she insisted on teaching you fun choreography whenever she saw you no matter your skill level
-> she insisted on a lot of things, but her bubbly personality made it hard to say no
-> however, you drew the line at her insisting that there was something deeper going on between you and bakugo
-> she seemed to think that you were head over heels for him, but had yet to realise
-> you fully laughed when she first told you that
-> mina only rolled her eyes, continuing with the choreography that she was teaching herself
-> "you owe me a boba when you and bakugo get together, y/n," she sang to you
-> as the year progressed, you found yourself warming up to the spiky-haired blond
-> he was definitely a good sparring partner, and your determination to keep beating him meant that you had one of the highest scores in the class
-> you had also gradually evolved to become part of mina's friend group
-> hanging out with kirishima, kaminari, and sero was great
-> it was only when bakugo showed up that all hell broke loose
-> whenever you met up outside of school, it was guaranteed that there would be some form of bickering between you and bakugo
-> but without your or him really noticing, that evolved from shouting matches that got the entire group kicked out of somewhere to half-hearted squabbling over the last fries or something to that effect
-> the two of you started to hang back when walking, wrapped up in a conversation after your shared competitive edge had died down
-> mina urged kaminari to hand over his side of the bet, but he refused, saying that the two of you weren't official yet
-> they would all look back at the two of you, smiling at how you were both so clueless about your feelings for each other
-> the two of you falling for each other would be very subconscious on both sides
-> you once went to this indoor shopping centre and upon seeing this allegedly "too spicy to handle" dish it was almost second nature to whip out your phone and text bakugo a challenge
-> you stopped yourself before you hit send, blinking in confusion before deleting your message
-> since when did you go out of your way to talk to him?
-> you shook it off, continuing on with your day with no other instances like that
-> but he was beginning to bug you
-> you had begun to notice that he was holding back during your sparring sessions
-> this had actually been happening for a week or two now, and it was getting on your nerves
-> at first you thought that he was having a rough few days, but when it extended past the one week mark, that's when you started to realise that something was up
-> you were currently sparring with him, and he was barely holding off on your quirk's attacks that you sent his way
-> you got closer to him, using a jet to knock him off balance
-> before he could get up, you had him pinned between your thighs, with your hands locking his wrists above his head. you panted slightly, but still glared down at him
-> "why the hell are you holding back on me?" you asked him
-> "like hell i am," he snapped, glaring up at you. but there was no bite behind his tone, and you noticed this
-> "you'd be out of this hold by now, bakugo."
-> "maybe i like it here," he shot back. you felt yourself blush a little at his words, and he seemed surprised himself if you were to look closely. but he moved, too quick for your shocked self to respond, and he effectively had you trapped beneath him. your legs were still clamped around his waist, though his hands were now the ones holding you down
-> "on second thought, i think this is a lot better" your momentary surprise was gone, and you smirked up at him, not trying to get out from underneath him
-> there was a moment of silence between the two of you, before you both wordlessly started moving forward, meeting each others' lips
-> it was passionate, to say the least
-> your teeth clashed unpleasantly at first, but you and bakugo moved past it, your hot open mouths moving against each other's, feeling the way he pressed against you
-> one of his hands travelled down to hold the side of your face, and you wrapped an arm around the back of his neck to draw him closer to you
-> it was addictive, and the heavy smell of burning clouded your senses as the kiss grew heavier
-> his other hand travelled to your back and bakugo sat up, hoisting you up with him so that you were now seated in his lap
-> but that's as far as it got before you heard a squeal from the other side of the room
-> you reluctantly pulled away from bakugo to see mina, clapping her hands together with excitement, and a disappointed kaminari handing her some money
-> you only laughed to yourself, remembering mina's threat to buy her boba while you heard bakugo start to yell at his friends to fuck off
Tumblr media
-> it was only after the two of you had started dating that bakugo admit to you that he started to hold back on you while fighting because he was afraid of hurting you
-> you were a little pissed that he thought you were that weak, but you saw where he was coming from
-> after you posed the possibility of todoroki becoming your new sparring partner, bakugo was quick to promise to start fighting harder whenever the two of you sparred, though
-> "just don't come crying to me if you get hurt, dumbass," he scoffed
-> "and don't expect me to kiss you better if you get hit with one of my jets," you teased him back
-> not wanting to hurt you with his quirk was a common theme regarding him
-> when you first brushed the back of his hand with yours as a hint to him that you wanted him to hold it, the boy froze up entirely
-> he brushed it off when you asked him what's wrong, but when your hand slipped into his you noted the way his palms were uncomfortably clammy and that he looked terrified in his own specifically bakugo way
-> he told you much later, on a rare one-off occasion where the two of you were lying together in bed awake at night, all about his fears and worries
-> that day, he had been terrified of his quirk going off and incinerating your palm
-> but with your reassurances that your quirk would balance out any of his explosions, he started holding your hand a lot more often
-> he even went as far as interlacing the fingers, with his calloused thumb rubbing patterns onto the back of your hand
-> everything with bakugo started cautiously
-> despite the nature of your confession, the two of you didn't really have any experience with dating
-> you wanted to get this right, though
-> you already had a solid ground of your shared friendship group to kickstart your relationship, and by spending more time around each other, you began to open up even more
-> your first date ended up being at that melt-your-face-off spicy eatery that you had found
-> you and bakugo still disagree to this day over who won that competition, though both of you had tears spilling from the overwhelming spiciness that day. it wasn't pleasant at the time, but it was a fond memory to look back on
-> besides, the two of you had gotten ice cream afterwards to try and cool down your burning mouths
-> much to the relief of your friends, pda was on the minimal side of the spectrum
-> bakugo, despite all of his cockiness, really didn't feel like making out with you at any given moment in public
-> however, he does insist on having his arm slung around your shoulders whenever the two of you go out together
-> he threatens to blast sero and mina if they tease him for going soft, but he can't help wanting to be close to you
-> additionally, whenever he felt himself in need of your attention or affection, he would tap your palm or hand with increasing aggressiveness until you got the hint and interlaced your fingers with his
-> behind closed doors, it is a different story
-> even though it took him a while to warm up to you, once he felt comfortable enough you found yourself with a very warm parasite stuck to you at any given moment
-> bakugo had a tendency to never knock, instead waltzing into your dorm room whenever he pleased and making himself at home in your bed
-> annoying ass
-> he would then either listen to you talk about your day or narrate his to some extent as you either continued getting ready or gathered some of your notes to study with him
-> that's right- even though you were both dating, that did nothing to dull the competition between the two of you (even though you found yourself not being as mad as usual whenever bakugo won)
-> if you were talking about your day, though, and even if it was the most trivial matter of deciding which pair of socks you wanted to wear today, bakugo would still make it clear that he was listening. if you trailed off because you saw his eyes closed as he lay his head on your pillows, he would open an eye, eyebrow quirked.
-> "and then what, princess?" he would gently prompt you, and you grinned in response as you continued with your story, bakugo smiling gently as he listened to your voice
-> however, on days that he felt less like talking, you would instead opt to hold onto him and offer your nonverbal support (yeah, he's a little spoon)
-> training was particularly gruelling? you would gently run your nails up and down his back, avoiding any areas that he had injured, and gently lull him to sleep pressed against you
-> alternatively, you would let him play with your hair, watching him get lost in the act
-> he was your rock, despite everything, and you were his too

One Hell of a Night // Luke Patterson
a/n: HAPPY HALLOWEEN Y'ALL, it officially passed midnight here. Are you guys going to celebrate Halloween at home? And if so are you going to dress up? Tell me all about it lovelies, I wanna hear it ❤️. prompt 18 nad 15 from this list🎃 this fic is chaotic, hope you enjoy😊
word count: 2692
warnings: a few (three i think?) curse words, and a..uhm a line of dirty talking (I'm sorry I'm not like this all the time I promise 😅) and scary stories
Tumblr media
The dry, colorful autumn leaves creaked under hiking boots as you walked into the woods. A smile appeared on your face as you heard some noises. Only a few seconds later you spotted the source. The Sunset Curve. The boys worked on getting the campfire lit while joking and laughing loudly. You stopped by a tree and leaned against it. Alex just hit Reggie on the back for just sitting around and not helping with putting logs and dry leaves on the fireplace. Thanks to Alex, Reggie swallowed the huge marshmello he had in his mouth and started coughing.
Bobby was trying to light his lighter again and again but it just didn't work. That's when Luke threw a pack of matches at him causing the rhythm guitarist to stumble back and fall into a pile of leaves. You started laughing quietly and walked up to them.
"That wasn't nice of you, babe." you said from behind Luke. He jumped, not noticing you creeping up on him.
"BAH! I almost got a heart attack, y/n!" he shouts pouting. You giggled and placed a small kiss on his cheek.
"That's what you get for not waiting for me." you smirk. Luke looks down embarrassed and goes to scrape the back of his head.
"Yeah…Sorry about that. I was too eager to set up the camp." he gestured at the two tents. Both were full of blankets and pillows. It looked super comfortable. You also spotted his acoustic guitar, and a whole bunch of food in you guys' tent.
"You did a great job."you smiled before walking over to the other boys." Hi guys! What's up?"
"Y/N! Finally! Tell Alex to stop hitting me!" yelled Reggie. You shook your head laughing.
“Stop being so childish than Reginald!”
“Boys, come on!! It is halloween, have some fun!” and with that you fished out a huge bag of candy from your backpack and threw it into Reggie’s hands. He looked up at you like you were some kind of miracle maker.
“Is this..is this all candy?” the dark haired boy asked, still in awe. You laughed, nodding your head slightly.
“Yeah. I don’t really want to think about how much money I spent on sweets.”
Soon after everyone got to work (this time for real) and the fire was lit in no time. Just as it started to get darker. All five of you sat around the campfire. You sat next to Luke, opposed to  Reggie and Alex. Bobby sat beside them in a camping chair. Thanks to the warm californian weather you didn’t need jackets just yet, despite being the end of october.
"It's getting dark. I think we could get started on the ghost stories?" asked Bobby looking up at the sky then around the little clearing in the woods where your tents were set up. Reggie munched on some candy corns but immediately stopped upon hearing those words.
"Ghost stories? Don't mind if I do." he sat his candies aside and prepared to tell a story that would send shivers down your spines. You leaned over to Luke, placing your head on his shoulder. He looked down at you with a smile before turning his attention back to the bassist.
"One day, a little boy, while walking around the woods, found a big toe on the ground. He ran home with it and-"
"-his mom cooked it in the soup which revolted in the toe's owner haunting them." you suddenly cut Reggie off. He gasps, offended.
"What? I knew the story. Was I supposed to just sit around?" you ask, earning a soft laugh from Luke. Reggie huffed and gestured at you.
"Alright then, take it away y/n. See if you can do better."
"Not to be that person but she definitely can. You only said like two sentences." Alex jumped in, not wanting to miss an opportunity to roast his friend.
"Because she cut me off!!"
The woods, once again erupted with the boys' laughter as you stared into the fire, waiting for them to quiet down so you can start your story.
"I was only a small kid when this happened, around five, maybe six, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. My mother was out of town for the weekend because of her work, so naturally, it was my father who read me a bedtime story in the evening. Everything was great, he was reading from my favorite book but right before he could finish the chapter we heard a quiet tapping noise from downstairs. My father looked puzzled and put his finger against his lips, signaling me to stay quiet so he could listen. The tapping didn't stop, it got louder before turning into banging and a final loud crash which sounded like the front door flying open. I looked at my father, scared to death, not knowing what to do." you kept your voice low, your face straight and never removed your eyes from the fire."He grabbed me and quickly ran with me to the small bathroom that was connected to my room. He instructed me to lock my door and only open it when he says so. I don't know what happened after that, but heard my father going down and some muffled noises before hearing him climb back up the stairs. I remember his voice. It was just so nice and comforting. He said it was a false alarm and I could come out. I reached for the doorknob but then he leaned down and looked inside through the keyhole. My little hands stopped midair. I kept staring at his eyes. He repeated that it was safe to come out and that everything was fine. But I did not believe him. Because that wasn't my father. He sounded exactly like him, but his eyes… They were a different color. Not my father's welcoming eye color. So I just stood there. For minutes. Maybe hours. He wouldn't stop talking, reassuring me but I still didn't unlock the door."
Reggie leaned forward with a worried and scared expression.
"What happened next?"
You lifted your gaze, slowly to look at the spooked boy.
"He started tapping. It sounded just like it did on the front door. And it wasn't long before he started banging his hand against the wood."
"Oh my god.." Reggie whispers.
"He is hitting harder and harder until finally the door breaks and flies open. And the creature, no longer looking or sounding like my father, rather like a tall bloodied figure with sharp teeth, jumps at me, opening his huge mouth and SWALLOWS ME WHOLE." you shout the last part causing Reggie to scream and the others to jump just a little.
"Fuuckk, i think I peed myself!" exclaims Reggie. You only laugh, seeing all the boys being a bit paler.
"So who's next?"
"I'll go." Luke said beside you and you shifted away from him, knowing that he will need the space to gesture along his story. You watched as he started to speak. His expression changes with every sentence as he introduces his characters. His frown as he talks about a creepy night in the woods. Your eyes wander down to his lips, too busy just staring at them to actually listen to the words that make them move. You distantly hear various curse words from the guys as your boyfriend goes deeper into detail with his horrifying story. With eyes still glued to Luke, you smile slightly.
"../n...y/n...Y/N!" you hear making you jump and almost falling backwards on the log you have been sitting on. You see all the guys staring at you.
"How are you not scared? Did you not hear Luke's story?" Reggie asks, earning a knowing laugh from Alex.
"No, she did not. She was too busy staring at his lips." as your friend's words hit your ears you feel your face heating up.
"Dude..,alright I might have zoomed out. A bit but I am here now. Where were you, babe?"
Luke looks at you, amused.
"I finished like 3 minutes ago. You 'zoomed out' for legit 20 minutes."
Looking up at the sky, you realized they were right because it got pitch black since you last looked up. Your lips curved into an 'o' shape before mumbling a sorry..
“We should put more wood on the fire. It's starting to weaken.” says Reggie. Bobby points into the dark woods.
“Suit yourself, man.”
“What? I am not going alone. Someone come with me.” he whines. Alex visibly changes his posture and sits into a more comfortable position.Luke puts his muscular arm around your shoulder grinning.
“You’re on your own, man.”
“No! Please??”
You bite back a laugh and carefully remove Luke’s arm from you.
“Alright, I’ll go with you.”
“Thank you!You are amazing!”
You grab the basket ,that’s been laying on the ground, for the twigs. You also reach into your bag for your flashlight.
“Ok, I’m ready to go.” you step towards Reggie but Luke grabs your hand and places a small kiss on it.
“Be careful, love.”
“Always.”
The two of you start walking towards the woods.
“Try not to pee yourselfs guys!” Alex calls after you in a sing-song voice.
“Ha ha, very funny Alex.”
To be honest you were a little spooked but didn’t show it.Not like Reggie who was literally shaking beside you and jumped up at every little noise he heard as you got further into the woods. You picked up a few sticks and bigger twigs, slowly filling the basket with them. Or rather, you tried but when Reggie stoped right in front of you you accidentally dropped it spilling the stuff everywhere.
“Dude! I am trying to help you here!”
“Shhhhh! Didn’t you hear that?” he whispers, voice panicked.
“Come on, Reg. This isn’t going to work on me.”
He turns to look at you.
“No, y/n! I am serious! I heard a whisper! I’m sure of it!”
You roll your eyes, not believing your friend.
“You gotta be more convincing next time. I dont scare that easily..AH” just as you assured Reginald how it takes more for you to get spooked, someone, or something grabbed you from behind and started to pull you while shouting ‘WAA’. The flashlight landed on the ground too as you let out a bloodcurdling scream. You kicked your attacker(s?) wherever you could.
“Ahh! WHoo, stop, it’s just us.” you suddenly hear your boyfriend's voice and feel the arms around you letting go. You turned around your fear vanishing and turning into anger.
Reggie behind you falls on the ground, clutching his chest while he tries not to cry.
“ARE YOU GUYS INSANE?!” you shout at Luke and Booby. Alex is nowhere to be seen, he probably stayed next the fire to keep an eye on your stuff. Luke's eyes immediately  widen upon hearing you raise your voice.
“I..I am sorry we thought-”
“What?! Lucas Patterson I am, so, so mad at you right now” you say shaking. You hear Bobby giggle quietly. You snap your head in his direction. “And don't even get me started on you Bobby...Bobby..uhm” you stop to think about his surname, only to realise you don’t know it. For a moment you let go of your anger. “What is your surname?”
He only scoffs and smiles. Alex must have heard the shouting and come to investigate with a flashlight in one hand and a drumstick (as a weapon?) in his other. He soon puts them down tho as he sees that you are all in one piece. Luke looks at Bobby with a puzzled expression.
“That is actually creepy, cause I don’t know it either.”
“What?! How? He has been in a band for, what? A year and a half? And you never actually asked his last name?” you ask, more interested in the mystery of Bobby’s name than shouting at them now. Luke shrugs.
“Do you even have a last name?” you hear Reggie asking from the ground. You all turn to him with questioning looks.
“Everyone has a last name Reginald.” says Alex.
“Not celtic gods, no.” he responds.
“What?” Luke exclaims clearny not understanding the bassist.
“Bobby is not a god.” says the drummer annoyed. “ He is a normal teenager like us.”
“Is he tho?”
Meanwhile Bobby leans back against a tree and stares at Reggie.
“You are creeping me out...Please stop creeping me out oh majestic god of...what are you the god of?”
Booby just smiles mysteriously.
“Oh for f…’s sake.Y/N back me up here, there are no gods and even if there were, Bobby is not one of them.”
“Thanks Alex but I am not offending a celtic god.”
“What is wrong with you guys?!”
Luke doesn’t know who to look at in this chaos. Soon he decides to pick up the twigs and collect more while you, Reggie and Alex argue whether Bobby is a god or not. Bobby bends down too, to help the lead singer.
“You do know my name is actually Wilson, right?”
“Yeah. Of course I do, I think Reggie does too, he just forgot.” the two boys laugh.
You all walk back to the camp and Booby, upon seeing Reggie still looking at him suspiciously walks over to him.
“I am not an ancient god, you know.”
“That is exactly what I would say too.”
Not hearing Reggie’s nonsense reminds you of what Luke did so when you feel him wrapping his arms around you, you push him away.
“I sorry, bae. I was an asshole. I shouldn’t have. Please look at me?” he stands before you so there is no way you can avoid him.
“Don’t do this again.” you said with a firm tone. You can't help but smile, seeing Luke’s shit eating grin. He opens his arms once again but waits for you to hug him first. You do, and for minutes you just stand there in his embrace. The silence was broken by the familiar sound of the acoustic guitar which was followed by Reggie’s voice as he started to play some country song.
“Dude, no, put down my guitar.”Luke ran off to get his instrument or to, at least convince him to play ‘normal’ music. You laugh and walk over to Alex and Bobby.
“Hey, y/n, I am sorry about scaring you.”
You wave your hand.
“It’s fine. However don’t be surprised when I get back at you.” you say before sitting down next to Reggie and giving him a hug because let’s be honest he was pretty traumatised in the woods too.
“Woo,hey! Why does he get a hug?” Luke asks, upset he couldn’t change Reggies mind about playing country songs. And from the fact that his girlfriend was hugging him.
“Maybe because you decided that it was a funny idea to scare the living shit out of him and I.”
“Stop guilt tripping me.” he pulls you up and away from the fire, closer to the tents. ”I said I am sorry. And you are right, I shouldn’t  have scared you. Besides…” he leaned closer to your ear “I know more fun ways to make you scream.”
You gasp upon hearing his words and right when you are about to react Alex walks by casually.
“No, no. With the tents it’s like we are sleeping next to each other. If you guys try anything I will murder you myself.”
Both of you look after him, blushing before breaking into laughter.
Luke’s watch showed 3:58 when you all agreed to call it a night. You put out the fire with the help of Bobby while Luke went to pack away the trash you all left out.
Reggie yawned and looked up at Alex.
“I am still pretty scared...Can I cuddle you Alex?”
He looks at him like he heard it wrong.
“Absolutely not.”
“What about you Bobby?”
“No way, Reg.”
Despite them saying this, all three of them woke up hugging each other in the morning.

Linumi:)
I see you like this pairing Nonie! That’s fine, it’s kind of fun to write something different! Enjoy! 💜
——————————————————————————-
The air was still, for once the sounds of her city were absent, it seemed she was the only one who couldn’t sleep. Sealed in her own bubble, the metalbender wa slots in thought. The glow from the spirit portal casting an eery glow across the tops of the buildings. From her apartment she could see the waves rolling gently in the bay, the salt and chill from the water sweeping through the city.
A painful sigh escaped her lips. This wasn’t how she had pictured her night. She flexed her feet slightly, readjusting them where they were propped on the railing of her balcony. The pull from her muscles reminding her of just how long she had been in the position. The tumbler in her other hand, now devoid of ice, confirmed the length of time. She set it on the arm of her chair.
She sighed again, her hand that was unoccupied sweeping across her forehead, trying to massage the tension away. She was supposed to be enjoying a quiet night in…a simple dinner followed by a nightcap, one last chance at spending quality time with him before he left.
In the morning he’d be traveling with his brother, visiting the other air temples, making the rounds and noting what needed to be done. It had been a hectic yeah and Tenzin was eager to make sure that nothing had come to pass at the other sites in his absence. Bumi, of course, had volunteered to go with his little brother…in fact she was certain they were picking Kya up on the way back.
He was going to be gone for at least a month. Communication wouldn’t be difficult, but only being able to send letters ahead to certain temples in hopes that he would receive them wasn’t the same as hearing his voice. Seeing his smile when she rolled over in bed every morning. Tonight had been her last chance.
Lin bit her lip, punishing the delicate skin, almost to the point of drawing blood. She could feel the tears beginning to pool behind her eyes; she would not cry.
~
The morning had been like any other, except that she wasn’t needed at work and would be spending the day lazing around her apartment. She rose before Bumi, starting breakfast and their coffee, knowing that after he would head to the island to be pack. The plan was for him to return later that evening and for them to relax; packing ahead of time ensured they would have additional time together.
Lin was standing at the sink, humming to the radio and washing the dishes, when she felt his presence behind her. She turned her head, glancing over her shoulder to see Bumi leant against her counter, a look of contemplation on his face. He seemed to be looking through her, his eyes unseeing.
She turned off the faucet with a flick of her wrist and moved so that she was facing him, drying her hands with a dish towel.
She eyed him warily, ‘What’s the matter?’
He hummed noncommittally, shrugging his shoulders. Lin could tell he was trying to act nonchalant, but there was clearly something on his mind. She knew him well enough to know that much.
Green eyes locked with grey, seeing the apprehension clearly on display.
‘I’m going to ask you something,’ he started hesitantly, ‘ and I would like you to let me finish before you answer or interrupt.’
Lin was on instant alert…those words, in that combination, had never boded well for her. She nodded anyway, regardless of the reluctant feeling in her stomach.
Bumi inhaled slowly, ‘I want to tell Tenzin about us.’
Her eyes widened in surprise. That was the last thing she’d expected to fall from his lips.
‘I can’t travel with him for a month, maybe more, with a good conscience, and not tell him.’
‘It’s none of his business,’ Lin insisted.
Bumi crossed his arms over his chest, ‘I’m aware of that Lin, but he’s my brother.’
He looked at his feet for a few moments before continuing, ‘We’ve been working on reconnecting…all of us, and I want to be completely transparent with him.’
She realized he had a point, but she wasn’t ready to concede the fact.
He sighed again, smiling softly and looked her directly in the eyes, it was as if he knew her thoughts.
‘But that’s only if you’re completely comfortable with the decision.’
Lin tilted her head in contemplation. It wasn’t that she was ashamed of Bumi…he was probably the most stable relationship she’d had since Tenzin. She wasn’t afraid of what others would think, but she was afraid of hurting Tenzin. She was afraid of losing her privacy. She was afraid of taking a step that she wasn’t ready for.
‘Bumi, we agreed to keep this quiet,’ she began.
‘I know,’ he interrupted, face falling slightly, ‘sorry, I didn’t mean to cut you off.’
He swept his hand between them, gesturing for her to continue.
She scratched the back of her neck, trying to decide how to voice what she was thinking. Telling people about their relationship terrified her…the last time she had a public relationship, it had ended badly, she had been the topic of the gossip columns for weeks. She wasn’t a fool, she knew that it was part of the territory, being a child of a war hero and dating the child of the previous Avatar as well as a Master Healer (read THE Master Healer).
As if sensing her inner debate, Bumi whispered, ‘It’s only Tenzin.’
‘Tenzin will turn into Kya, and then your mother, and then my sister, and then Korra and her friends and…’ Lin’s thoughts were spiraling.
Their family would be happy…intellectually she knew that, but she still couldn’t bring herself to agree. She looked at him with what she hoped was an apologetic expression…she hoped he understood her reluctance.
He blew out breath as he reached forward, enfolding her stiff body into his arms. He nuzzled her temple, inhaling the soft floral scent with hints of metal.
‘It’s ok,’ he mumbled, ‘forget I brought it up.’
His words were meant to reassure her, but she couldn’t help feel guilty. She knew she didn’t give him the answer he’d been hoping for and squeezed him tighter in response.
Not long after this discussion, Bumi let her know that it was probably better if he returned to the island for the night. Tenzin still had a few final course corrections he wanted to discuss with his brother. She looked at him with a question in her eyes, one he couldn’t answer. She nodded dazedly, no quite sure how to respond.
She walked him to the door, she quickly glanced around, making sure that he hadn’t left anything he might need. She rubbed her arm awkwardly as she couldn’t meet his eyes. She knew he was frustrated but didn’t want to pressure her, he would wait until she was ready, if she ever was.
He sighed, almost sounding defeated, pulling her gently closer and placed a chaste kiss on her forehead. He then turned to open the door, looking over his shoulder.
‘I’ll send a letter as soon as we land, we should be stationary at the temple for at least a week.’
Again Lin nodded, glancing up slightly, a hand massaging her upper arm. He smiled slightly and slipped through the doorway, the click of the lock deafening in her now empty apartment.
~
The tears were flowing freely now, she couldn’t stop them even if she tried. Why hadn’t she just agreed? Now thinking back, it had seemed so selfish, he didn’t deserve that. Their relationship was about give and take, and it seemed she’d been doing a lot of the taking so far.
She knew he understood, he knew her insecurities and her past hurts and how they affected her interactions with people. They had talked long and hard about communication before even venturing into this territory, admittedly unfamiliar for both of them. They wanted this to work…they loved each other. They had never said it out loud, but it was implicitly implied, they knew.
He made her feel safe and understood unlike anyone else. If anyone could comprehend the pressure of being the child of a war hero that didn’t seem to measure up to their famous parent, it was Bumi.
Lin could feel her nose starting to run and her eyes growing puffy. She hadn’t cried like this in a long time. Probably since she’d lost her bending…maybe even before that if she was being honest. After Tenzin had broken up with her? When she thought her mom would show and didn’t?
She rubbed her hands over her face roughly, frustrated with the loss of control of her emotions. She drew her knees up on to the patio chair, hugging them to her chest, as she laid her head on them. Her body shuddered with soft sobs, she couldn’t have stopped them if she tried.
‘Please don’t cry.’
His quiet voice startled her. She snapped her head up quickly, almost knocking the glass off its perch on the arm of her chair. She carefully unfolded her legs, her feet connecting with the floor, she could feel his heartbeat now. It was as erratic, matching hers in its rhythm.
His eyes smiled even if his mouth didn’t, she could feel the warmth enveloping her. Everything would be ok, it would work itself out, he came back. That had to mean something right?
She rushed to him and collided with his chest, a soft oof coming from his lips as he caught her easily. The sobs that were quiet earlier, the ones she was trying to contain, fell from her lips uninhibited. The more relieved she became, the louder the sounds from her mouth were, rising in pitch and frequency.
Bumi rubbed her back, quietly yet steady, until the sobs subsided in small whimpers. He had never heard these particular sounds from the metalbender in his arms. It was humbling to hear witness to such vulnerability.
‘I’m sorry,’ she hicupped into his chest, ‘I was selfish earlier…I should have at least discussed it with you.’
‘Shhhhh,’ he intoned gently, trying to calm Lin, ‘we don’t have to talk about it no, it’s ok.’
‘But it’s not!’ She insisted, ‘it’s not ok.’
She shook her head, unfolding herself from his arms, putting the needed distance between them, she needed to clear headed…and he was distracting. She wiped the tears and snot on the sleeve of her sweater, she could be disgusted about it later.
‘You can tell him,’ she whispered, ‘we can tell everyone, if that’s what you want.’
She paused, looking to his wide grey eyes and the beginnings of a smile stretching across his face. The hair on his head even more disheveled than normal, his crooked grin so reminiscent of his father, it made her smile in turn. Her eyes watered as she contemplated her next words
‘I love you,’ she her words soft and lilting, ‘so much.’

Summary: They say at fourteen you’re too young to know you’re in love. But what if you aren’t?
Navigation: chapter one
October
Grade: 9
Age: 14
---------------------------------
Ever since that class, you and Joel became inseparable whenever you were within talking distance. You just seemed to gravitate towards him, and he seemed to do just the same. When you needed a pep-talk before a big test, he was there. Whenever you needed a laugh, he was there. He seemed to just always be there. He even noticed when your hands started to slightly shake before a quiz or test. How would he respond? He’d do what any nice, respectful, and caring teenage boy would do: goof off. The way he did so was completely up to how rambunctious he was feeling that day.
Would he throw crumpled up paper at his friends and just smile as the teacher yelled at him?
Or try and balance the close by meter-stick on his head (that was soon taken away after)?
Or would he possibly take a different turn and re-explain a topic you were still shaky on?
He was just unpredictable in that sense.
Now how were you feeling about this newly kind Joel?
“Your face is the reddest I think I’ve ever seen it,” Luna teased while you both walked out of the classroom after the bell rang, “and if I held up my bright red backpack to it, I don’t know which one would be redder.” She was on a roll that day.
You scratched your eyebrow in a lame attempt to hide your glowing cheeks. See, on that day, Joel decided to calm your nerves by drawing a star on your hand. Yes, your hand. It went sort of like this:
Your right hand was resting on the table so the back of your hand was facing Joel, who was also on your right. He was messing around with an orange marker, threatening to draw it on his friend just a table over.
“Draw one on y/n,” the friend slyly suggested with a devilish smirk. Joel’s eyes widened to the size of hockey pucks and he whipped his head around to look at you. He glanced down at the marker and then regained his cool facial expression.
Meanwhile your blood ran cold and your head started to pound uncontrollably. You glance at Luna and she nods vigorously. You ball your hand into a fist and shakily stick it out, the adrenaline causing your hearing to slightly go. He offers a light smile, and you swear you can see him slightly exhale from relief. He positions the marker in his hand to get a good grip on it, because if he was going to draw on your hand, it had to be perfect.
He rested his hand under yours to hold it steady. Yes, his hand. He cleanly knocked the breath out of your lungs. You could feel the warmth radiate from his hand. He carefully and neatly (well as neat as a fourteen year old boy can) draws an orange star on the center of your balled up fist.
When his hand finally let go of yours, the touch felt too brief but also like forever.
You literally wanted to jump out of your skin. A mix of different colors felt as though they were swirling around your head in an intense blur. You wanted to throw up color and those sickeningly sweet feelings.
At this point, unlike the first time you guys were civil to each other, you surpassed the point of being screwed.
No. As soon as he touched your hand, you knew one thing for certain: you were in love with Joel Farabee.
“Now that’s one perfect good luck charm,” he says with a smirk.
Man, you just wanted to kiss that stupid smirk. That stupid yet adorable smirk….
And that’s how you ended up almost falling over in the hallway with Luna. In the hallway, she takes your hand and looks at the perfectly messy star.
“You’ve got that boy head over heels for you,” she sassed and laughed.
You playfully shoved her, but your heart skipped a beat.
You couldn’t help but wonder, did you really?
---------------------------------
“LOVE?” Luna practically yelled in your room. Your parents let you guys hang out after school that very same day because it was yet another Friday. Which is how you ended up with Luna screaming at you on your bedroom floor.
“SHHHHH,” you aggressively said as you tried to calm her down. You pointed downstairs to your parents. You had told them earlier that Luna drew the star on, not Joel. They didn’t even know Joel existed.
“Sorry,” she whispered, “but LOVE? You’re in love with him? Are you sure? Aren’t we too young for that? At least, that’s what my mom says.”
You sigh deeply. “Look, I know, Luna. But there’s just something so different about him. Something I can’t explain.”
“Okay, but you also haven’t liked more than two people,” Luna counters, “and we’re fourteen.”
“But have you looked into someone’s eyes before and felt safe? Have you wanted to cling onto them and never let go? You’ve got to listen to me, these feelings are so intense that I want to throw them up in a glittery mess. He runs in circles around my mind 24/7. I wonder how his hugs feel, I wonder how I would act if I met his parents.” You pause for a moment and stare her in the eyes.
“I barely understand how I feel, myself,” you whisper. “I am so screwed, Luna, but I don’t care.”
Her face relaxes and she slowly nods her head. She breaks out into a smile.
“I hear you,” she calmly states as she takes one of your hands. “I will be here with you while we figure this out, okay?”
“Okay,” you nod in a soft whisper tone.
Maybe it was the cumulation of him constantly caring for you in his own way. Maybe it was the way he never made dumb jokes at the expense of your feelings. Maybe it was the way talking to him came so easily and naturally to you, like you’ve known him for lifetimes. Or maybe it was just the fact that you were young, like Luna said.
But you knew deep down you couldn’t wholeheartedly buy into that logic.
Because in the end, you knew you were right.
---------------------------------
You turned fifteen on November 25, so you’re always exactly three months older than Joel, which he definitely did not appreciate. He found out when the teacher wished you a premature Happy Birthday the day before Thanksgiving Break.
“I cannot believe you,” he said in a mockingly defensive manner.
“Joel, I can’t exactly control when I was born you know,” you jokingly shot back. The playful banter was your favorite part of the day. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t look forward to it now.
“Well, how am I supposed to wish you a happy birthday when we won’t be in class?” He dramatically pouted.
I could give you my number, you thought. You’d never actually say that, though.
Suddenly, he turned and snatched a random piece of paper from one of his friends, and judging by the sharp “Hey!” that came out of the friend’s mouth, it probably was of some sort of importance. He grabbed your pencil and borderline slammed them down in front of you.
“Here, write down your number and all of our problems will be solved.”
Did he just? Did what you think just...happen? Fourteen year old you was absolutely dumbfounded.
“Sure,” you said as nonchalantly as possible, when in reality you were about to black out.
You scribbled down your number and handed it to him.
He opened his mouth to say something, but the bell rang, and you both scrambled for your things in the midst of chaos.
“I will be looking forward to that birthday wish,” you called out as he headed for the door. At first, you didn’t think he heard you, but at the last moment, he turned around and winked before stepping out the door.
You would have melted onto the floor if it wasn’t for Luna squealing in your ear like it was a holiday morning.
November 25 couldn’t come soon enough. Yes, you were excited to turn fifteen, but now you had another reason.
The question was, was that a good thing?
---------------------------------
November 25
Age: 15
Grade: 9
You woke up on your birthday morning with adrenaline coursing through your veins. After a fun Thanksgiving with family the day before, you were excited to finally celebrate your birthday with just your mom and dad, like you always did.
You’d be lying if you said the first thing you checked was not your phone. But, It was the first thing you reached for on your nightstand. Not your glasses, like normal.
You quickly scrolled through your notifications looking for an unknown number. There’s a text from your aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa, cousins. Your heart sank when you reached the end. Nothing from him.
You placed your phone down and shook your head to clear out the negative energy that engulfed your body.
It was your birthday, you weren’t going to let anyone ruin this day for you. Even him.
---------------------------------
It was after dinner, which was your absolute favorite meal. You had gone to the mall with your mom and dad for some birthday shopping, a tradition you were very grateful for.
On the way home, you were happily thinking about the new outfits you were gifted, until your phone buzzed. Your heart quickened.
Luna!!: did he text you yet?
You exhaled sharply.
You: no, he hasnt :(
Thanks for the reminder, Luna.
Luna!!: bummer. i’m sure he will soon.
Luna!!: he’d be an idiot not to, don’t worry, love!
You mindlessly stared out the window of the back seat, hoping the blur of the trees would take your mind off of him.
You could sense your dad glancing at you using the rearview mirror.
You turned to look at him. “What?”
“Everything okay?” He asked.
You plaster a huge smile on your face and say yes, of course, because your parents have done so much for you that day that you should have been fluttering from happiness. You mean, you were happy. You couldn’t have been more thankful. Your heart just yearned for him to fulfill his promise.
Because you didn’t know what school was going to be like if he didn’t, and you weren’t ready to face that reality.
---------------------------------
That night, you brushed your teeth and got ready for bed. Your heart felt heavier each time you checked your phone and “No Older Notifications” was displayed instead of seeing the one you longed for. You glanced at your clock on your nightstand. The bright red numbers glared at you. It was close to 11:00.
You sighed and spun your phone around in your hands as you thought. Call it delusion, but you refused to put your phone down. You knew he was going to follow through.
Did you know why you knew? Not a clue.
Without warning, your phone vibrated in your hands. You couldn’t have flipped it upright faster if you tried.
Maybe: Joel
Maybe WHO?
Maybe: Joel: Happy birthday math partner 🥳
Maybe: Joel: This is Joel by the way, that’s probably important to add
Maybe: Joel: Although you do only have one amazing math partner
You really thought you died there for a second. They were, like, a handful of words (excluding the Joel part) but they were enough to make you hug your pillow from overload.
You spastically texted Luna.
You: JESFEUN You: HE IFHUHF You: HE TEXTED ME LUNA
She must have been waiting for this text all day, just like you. She responded right away.
Luna!!: YAYAYA WHAT DID HE SAY?
You: Happy birthday math partner with the 🥳 emoji and he forgot to say his name until the second text lmaooo
Luna!!: aww thats so cute! he sounds like he has an empty head but you go hon!!
Luna!!: now text him back idiot before you forget or he goes to bed
You: yep one sec
Your thumbs circled aimlessly around the keyboard. You wanted to say so many things. You settled on this:
You: thanks, math partner :)
You hit send on that, hesitated for a moment, then typed:
You: and yes you’re a pretty great one
You took a deep breath and pressed send. You changed his contact to “Math Partner”
You wanted to throw up, but in a good way? You sighed into your pillow. Almost as quick as you sent it, you felt another buzz.
Your hand shot out to grab your phone.
Math Partner: Hey, anytime you need a star, I’m here
You glanced down at your hand, where the orange star was just a few short days ago. It was gone. You wished it didn’t fade.
You: the orange one has already faded :(
Math Partner: Well, to make up for the late birthday wish, I can give you another one once we go back to school since we have another big test
You nodded vigorously, as if he could see that through the screen.
You: maybe in red this time? it’s my favorite color
Math Partner: Whatever you want, birthday girl
What a simp, you thought. Also, you were surprised you still had a pulse at that point. Birthday girl?
Math Partner: I have to go now, I have hockey super early tomorrow. Goodnight 😁
“Hockey?” you whispered to yourself.
You: yay, thanks :) and goodnight!!
He plays hockey? you thought. Shouldn’t you have known that?
You frantically Facetimed Luna and whisper-yelled every word you two exchanged. Luna beamed with so much happiness that you could have sworn she was getting the guy.
“This is literally the best thing EVER,” she quietly exclaimed.
You just laughed a giddy yet nervous laugh. You still had no clue what was happening, but you were ready to embrace it.
---------------------------------
January 25
Age: 15
Grade: 9
When the teacher switched around the seating charts during the year, she mostly kept you and Joel within talking distance each time. If that thing about teachers sensing when kids like each other was thought to be true, she definitely proved it to be so.
Thankfully, she kept this trend going when she switched the seats around on Joel’s birthday. She moved you guys back next to each other for the next quarter. Before, she briefly separated you guys for about two weeks (when Joel wouldn’t stop yelling to his other friend who was near him). During that time apart, you both were noticeably droopier and mopier than normal. He still joked with his friends, but you only heard his loud laugh a handful of times instead of….too many.
As for you, some kid you’ve never even talked to asked you if you were okay. The answer was of course no, but you couldn’t say that.
So when the brown haired boy sat down next to you for the first time in two weeks, it felt like the day he drew the star on your hand all over again. You wanted to reach out and hug him so he’d never leave you, much less say something, anything, but you just couldn’t still. Thankfully, he did the talking for you.
“Miss me?” he joked with his trademark smile.
“Very much so,” you said with a balance of sarcasm and lightheartedness. “Happy birthday, by the way.” You lightly shoved him, not entirely knowing where the guts to do that came from.
“Thank you, thank you. Did you get me anything?” he teased. He lightly shoved you back.
Your heart beated frantically. Your impulsivity urged you to do something you never would have a few months ago.
“Actually…” you paused for a moment. He raised his eyebrows. You reached for an orange marker and uncapped it with a pop.
“May I?”
He could hardly believe it.
“Do what?”
You playfully rolled your eyes. “Draw a star, dummy.”
“Ohhhhh,” he said as he connected the dots. He stuck out his clenched fist as he fought back a huge grin.
You couldn’t believe you were actually doing that.
You tucked your hand under his to keep it steady, just like he did with your hand a few months back. You took your time making sure each corner was connected precisely. You also didn’t want to let go of his hand, like, ever.
You finished way too soon for both your likings. You pulled away and closed the cap.
“Happy birthday, Math Partner.”
“Thanks,” he said. He had his eyes glued on the star you just drew. He didn’t even try to fight the grin that was creeping on his face.
Now you were the cause of his smile. Warmth flowed through your body. You just wanted to keep him that happy forever.
---------------------------------
That night, Luna called you on Facetime because apparently talking about those events in the hallway afterschool wasn’t enough.
“What’s up?” you calmly asked, as if you didn’t know why she was calling.
“What’s up? What do you mean what’s up? I mean, first you lightly shoved him. Yes, I saw that. But then you draw a star on him? I don’t know where this confident you came from, but I am living for it. I am so proud of you,” she sincerely said through a smile.
“Aw thank you, I appreciate it. Yeah, I don’t know either, honestly. He just brings out this good side of me now.”
“I can see that, and I love it. So...” She dragged out the “so,” and that was never a good sign.
“So?” you asked.
“What are you going to do about it?”
“About what?” You played dumb as best you could.
She didn’t buy it. “Oh come on, y/n. You know you love him, why don’t you tell him?”
You shuttered at that idea. By doing that, you risked losing what you’ve created so far. You were texting him roughly once or twice a week at that point about random stuff and talking to him in class every chance you got. Losing that was just something you were not prepared to face. And you told Luna that.
She (mostly) understood.
“I respect that,” she said. “But if you guys don’t hang out in the summer and keep this going, I will kill him.”
You snorted. “Me too, honestly.”
Could you guys keep this going for that long?
Only time would tell, you told yourself.

Grade: 9
Age: 15
Every time you saw Joel, you came home with a pep in your step. It was like clockwork. You would bounce into the house with a grandiose “Hello Mother” and hum a song stuck in your head. Today it was “Love Story” by Taylor Swift.
“How was your day?” your mom asked with a hint of suspicion. After months of letting your intriguing happiness spell go, it was too obvious for her to ignore.
“Good,” you said. You didn’t really want to tell her much about Joel because you knew she wouldn’t believe you if you told her how you really felt about him. Those strong feelings didn’t waiver once over the last few months. Okay, maybe once on the day that he accidentally spilled water on your homework. But you couldn’t stay mad at him after he willingly placed his own homework in the same water.
“You’re very happy today. Anything happen in particular?” She prodded.
“Nope,” you pop the letter “p”.
“Who’s the boy?”
You froze. “Boy?”
“There has to be, you haven’t been this happy to go to school pretty much ever.”
You sighed. It was your mom after all. Maybe she would believe you if you told her.
“His name’s Joel, he’s in my Algebra class,” you mumbled.
“Is he nice? Is he smart? Does he play hockey?” The questions flew from left and right.
“Yes, he’s nice. He’s really sweet to me. He is way better at math than me. Yes he does,” you rattled off the answers to her bombardment.
“Excellent,” she smiled. “You like this boy?”
“Yeah, I really do. A lot actually.”
She raised an eyebrow. “A lot?”
“Yeah, honestly, I might love him.”
That confession froze the kitchen over. She paused.
“Honey, you’re too young to know that,” she tried to reason.
Your chest stung. “What if I’m not?” You questioned.
“You’re fifteen.”
“I know Mom, I know.” She opened her mouth to talk, but you said, “I have to go start homework.” You charged up the stairs and crashed on your bed.
So what if you were fifteen? You didn’t care how old you were. Call it being naive, but you were sure you knew everything when you were young.
You just had to wait for timing to fall into place to prove everyone wrong.

“hi na—” *door slams* “oh...”
erica always intruded on your sleepovers at lucas’s
“i wanna play! can i play?”
“no, erica, go play somewhere else”
“you’re so mean, lucas”
“bye!”
dustin didn’t have any siblings, but he did have a cat who was pretty nice
“hi mews!”
the night will disappeared was a night you’ll never forget
you were so determined to find him, he had to be around somewhere
you ended up getting in deeper water than you’d originally thought when you met eleven, who apparently had superpowers
“mike!!! you’re mom is gonna kill you for bringing a random girl in the house”
“i know! shhhhh”
she was weird to say the least
and it was pretty scary sneaking around with her
“dude...she has the force”
“shut up!”
after a long week of fighting with your friends and encountering inter dimensional monsters and the government, you realized your life would never be the same
your mom was pretty protective over you for a while
the party had to come to your house instead for the next few months
“sorry guys, she’s just...really upset about the whole thing”
“it’s okay, y/n. we don’t mind”
being each other’s support system
especially when it came to will, he really worried you guys
“today is will’s doctor visit, hope it goes okay...”
spending HOURS in the arcade, struggling to beat other people’s high scores
“i’m gonna do it! i’m gonna get the top score!”
“in your dreams, y/n”
hAlLoWeEn
you knew you weren’t supposed to dress up at school but no one was paying attention to you when you told them
unfortunate.
there was a new girl who mike hated right off the bat
but lucas and dustin wouldn’t stop fighting over
“you two are the worst, you know that?”
trick or treating and dumping your candy later on to trade, the most effective way to get the best halloween
“nougat, disgusting. anybody want it? i’ll give it to you for free”
*dustin and you simultaneously* “ME!”
dustin’s “pet lizard” scaring the hell out of you
“dart makes me...uncomfortable”
max pulling you aside to ask why mike hates her
“uh...he’s a dick? i don’t know”
you and max ended up getting along pretty okay, though
she did complain about mike a LOT though
and when lucas filled her in on the demogorgon/upside-down/eleven situation, EVERYONE was pissed
you guys realized that the upside down stuff was not over and there was an epic teamup with all of you yaaaay
steve harrington adopted you it’s true
eleven came back
that was cool
you gave her a hug bc like duh??? you missed her
steve babysitting you guys and then getting beat up by max’s stepbrother, billy
“can i hit him? i wanna hit him”
“do it!”
doing dumbass shit in the tunnels that ended up working out anyways! yay!
“we’re all gonna die we’re all gonna die oh my god i’m too young to die”
“Y/N STOP”
in the end everything was (mostly) okay but like, that was scarring
summer rolled around and el and mike were dating, max and lucas were dating, and dusting came back from camp and claimed to be dating some girl from faaaar away
“liar”
“i’m not lying!”
steve sneaking you into movies
he also gave you (and only you) free ice cream but only bc he knew you wouldn’t tell anyone else
robin and you talking while you hid in the break room to eat your ice cream
“so...what do you do for fun”
“kill monsters”
“oh...okay”
kinda sick of the party’s shit for a while, so dustin and you were off scheming with the scoops employees
bad ideaaaa!! the russians!! you were almost killed!!
rescue mission for steve and robin
“they’re high as shit”
“nO YOu aRe”
“wonderful, we’re screwed”
losing them fhdhdhsh
“y/n?!”
“what? i’m not a babysitter!”
being chased by russians but also the rest of the party showing up and updating you but also adults finally making an appearance and you wanting to cry because like what the fuck is happening
being chased by the mind flayer
“GUYS IF WE DONT MAKE IT I WANT YOU ALL TO KNOW I LOVE YOU”
“Y/N. STOP SAYING THINGS THAT MAKE US THINK WE’RE GOING TO DIE”
eek that night sucked
you also almost fell down the hill that cerebro was placed on
and then uhhh hopper died so that was really bad and will ended up moving away with el and everyone was very sad
your mom cried when joyce left :(
you cried way too much
might i add going over to lucas’s to hang out with erica bc now you guys are friends lmaooo
“why are you here, y/n?”
“erica wanted me to come over”
“you two are impossible”
and to end this on a high note, the remaining party members in town were finally working through their differences as you all grew up and knew that it’d be impossible to separate for good
also pizza nights every week (sometimes accompanied by an older teen bc why not)
“if you guys eat all the damn pizza we’re gonna have a problem”
“we can’t help it! we’re growing!”

Choice Words
Pairing: Dreamnotfound (ooh thats new)
Words: 1972
TWs: miscommunication, a bit of anxiety. Let me know if there’s one I should list!
AN: So this is actually a school assignment, but since my teacher thought it was good and I still like it, it’s goin here. I know I don’t usually post MCYT content, but I’m hoping to change that soon! Don’t worry, Sanders Sides will probably stay my main priority for a while. (Also yes I’m still supposed to be on hiatus I know I’m a bad Christian shhhhh /j) Enjoy! EDIT! This is now available on AO3 here! for your viewing pleasure
George felt his head bounce against the school bus’ window as it bumped and sputtered its way down the road. He closed his eyes, hoping to catch up on some of the sleep that he had missed out on the night before, and now was sorely missing. This didn’t last long, however, because the bus screeched to a stop and the sounds of other teens climbing out filled his ears. George just sighed and was about to close his eyes again when he felt a pair of strong shoulders crash into his.
He pulled his head away from the window to meet his best friend’s lively green eyes. “Dream, I’m trying to relax,” he huffed, doing his best to smother the smile he felt creeping onto his face. “Do you mind?”
“Nah, I don’t mind at all,” Dream responded with a cheeky grin, making George roll his eyes. He was just about to put his earbuds in when Dream grabbed his hand, stopping the movement.
“Uh, actually,” Dream said, looking down at where his and George’s hands met, “I had something to ask you.”
“Mhm?” George just continued to scroll through his phone, seemingly not minding the contact.
Dream suddenly found himself supremely more nervous than he had been a few moments ago. He took a steadying breath and just decided to spit it out.
“There’s a new movie I wanna see coming out in theaters tonight, and I was wondering if you’d wanna come with me?”
At this George turned his attention from Twitter to focus on Dream’s face. After a momentary pause, he smiled. “That sounds like fun! I’ve got homework to do, but you could pick me up later tonight?”
Dream let out a breath he hadn’t even realized he was holding. “Yeah, totally. Around eight?”
   “Perfect, it’s a date then!”
As George went back to looking at his phone, the bus came to Dream’s stop. He grabbed his backpack and gave his friend a goodbye smile, then made his way off the bus and up his driveway. When he was sure that it had turned the next corner down the street, Dream did a little jump and let out a whoop. He was so sure that George would turn him down that now that he hadn't, Dream wasn’t quite sure what to do with himself. After a moment of stimming, which mostly just meant standing in the driveway clicking his tongue and shaking his hands up and down, he had regained his composure enough to be able to enter his house without immediately being teased by his sister.
At 7:30 that evening, Dream was standing in front of his full-length mirror and evaluating the outfit he had chosen. It was nothing fancy, just a pair of jeans and a lime button-up shirt, but that was exactly the issue. Was it too formal? Or not formal enough? This was his first date with George after all, he didn’t want to disappoint.
It was in the middle of this scrutiny that his sister spoke up, leaning against the doorframe casually. “You look fine, idiot,” Drista said with a teasing grin. “You know he’s gonna like you no matter what you dress like, don’t stress about it.”
“But what if I overdress? Or underdress? What do people even wear to movie dates anyway?”
Drista shrugged. “I dunno, I’ve never been on one. Probably what you’d wear for a usual date,”
“Thank you for the help, dear sister,” Dream said sarcastically, turning his head to give her a deadpan expression. She stuck her tongue out at him, so of course he had to stick his tongue out at her.
Their teasing match was interrupted, however, by their mother calling up the stairs. “Clay, George is going to be expecting you! Shake a leg!”
“I’m going!” Dream hollered back, taking one more moment to fuss with his hair. Drista sighed and walked over, fixing it for him.
“You’ll be fine, Clay. You’ve known him for, like, ever, and just because you’re going on a date doesn’t mean that either of you are any different than you were this morning.”
Dream nodded, and Drista gave his arm an affectionate whack. “Now get out of my house, you nerd.”
“I’m still older than you!” He protested as he grabbed his keys and walked out the front door.
The drive to George’s house was a short one, and soon enough he was knocking on the front door of a small ranch-style house that served as the Found household. He took a step back from the door when he heard muffled barks and scrabbling of nails on the other side. George cracked the door open, pulling three very excited dogs away from where they were trying to push out the door and run into the front yard. He smiled a bit sheepishly at Dream, then turned his head to call over his shoulder. “Mum! I’m leaving!” After a faint response had been hollered back, he shoved his way out past the dogs and onto the front porch.
George huffed, brushing his sweater free from the dog hair that clung to it. “Sorry about that, the dogs just get excited when someone comes to the door.”
“Don’t worry about it, I’m used to your dogs by now,” Dream chuckled, bumping his shoulder against George’s. “You look nice.”
“Thanks,” George fidgeted with the hem of the blue sweater he was wearing, kneading it between his fingertips. The outfit wasn’t really anything special, but it was one of Dream’s favorites. The color made the brown of George’s eyes richer, and it looked especially good paired with the light pink blush that was currently painted across his face.
Soon enough the two of them were sitting in the plush red chairs of the theater, watching previews and waiting for the movie to start. It was a pretty small showing, there were only two other couples in the entire room, so Dream and George were free to spread out. George had his legs slung over the armrest, leaning his back against Dream’s shoulder, occasionally tipping his head back to give him an upside-down grin. In a way that confused George to no end, Dream had managed to fold his long legs underneath him so he was sitting cross-legged on the chair. He had one arm hooked over the back of the seat, not quite around George but close enough to feel the warmth coming from him.
The background chatter of the theater quieted to a hush as the lights slowly faded and the beginning of the movie started to play on the screen. George flipped around in his chair to sit normally and shuffled closer to Dream’s side in excitement, causing butterflies to erupt within the taller boy’s chest. He casually dropped his arm to rest around George’s shoulders, then settled back to watch as the main character dashed onto the screen.
The movie’s plot climax was fast approaching, and George wasn’t handling it very well. He was curled into Dream’s side as the scene around the main character exploded, and he practically shoved his face into Dream’s shoulder with an anxious squeak when the character onscreen only narrowly avoided the hunters chasing him. Dream couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle at George’s reactions, earning him a firm whack to the bicep.
“Don’t laugh at me! It’s a very intense moment!” He mumbled, though the effect of his statement was diminished slightly by the fact that he was still hiding his face in the lime green fabric of Dream’s shirt.
“Aww, don’t worry Gogy, I’ll protect you,” Dream cooed teasingly, patting his head fondly. With a quick glare towards him, George turned back to look at the screen, though he didn’t move from where he was basically plastered to Dream’s side. Maybe if he had looked closer, he would’ve seen the smitten looks that Dream couldn’t resist giving him every couple of minutes. Or maybe he would’ve caught the way that Dream stiffened momentarily when he grabbed George’s hand, caught up in the moment. Or the relief that flooded over him when George just squeezed it without a second thought.
The two of them got so caught up in the movie that it took both of them by surprise when the lights came back on and the credits started rolling. George pulled away from Dream’s hold to stand up, which made him pout for a moment, but returned to stand at his side when he had gathered his things. Together they walked out into the parking lot, where George talked animatedly about the characters of the movie while Dream watched in amusement. The drive back to George’s house was filled with much of the same, George sharing his thoughts on the plot and characters while Dream listened happily, throwing in his own opinions here and there.
Dream did his best to swallow his nerves as he walked George up to his front porch, catching his elbow when he went to open the door.
“I had a really nice time tonight, George,” He smiled at his best friend, hoping he sounded a lot calmer than he felt.
“So did I! Thanks for inviting me. We should do this again sometime,” George chirped.
   “You think so?”
   “Definitely!”
“In that case,” Dream said, taking a deep breath and trying to gather his courage. “Would it be alright if I kissed you goodnight?”
This seemed to take George off-guard, taking a small step back and giving him a baffled look. “What? Why?”
“It’s okay if not!” Dream rushed to backtrack, bringing one of his hands up to rub the back of his neck awkwardly. “I just figured that’s what people usually do after a date goes well.”
So many emotions flickered across George’s face in a matter of moments. Disbelief, realization, guilt, eventually landing on a mix of confusion and sadness. “Clay,” He started softly. “When you asked me to come with you tonight, did you mean it romantically?”
A look of horror and embarrassment struck Dream’s features. “Did you think I meant it platonically?”
George nodded silently, and Dream buried his face in his hands with a groan. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry! I should’ve made it more clear. Jesus Christ, I’m such an idiot.”
“Hey, hey, don’t talk about yourself like that!” George said sternly, drawing Dream’s gaze from his palms to his blushing face. “Maybe there was a communication issue, and maybe neither of us completely understood the point of tonight, but that does not make you an idiot,” his voice softened as he watched Dream’s face flush.
“You’re right, I’m sorry,” Dream mumbled, stuffing his hands in his pockets self-consciously. “I should probably get going,” he went to turn away but felt a hand reach out and grab his forearm before he could.
“Clay, I…” George hesitated, trying to find the right way to say what he wanted to say. “I did really enjoy myself tonight, and I’m sure that I would’ve acted differently if I had known how you felt about me,” He quirked his lips up into a smile. “Can we try this again? Do it right next time?”
Dream’s eyes shone with cautious excitement. “Really? You wanna go on an actual real date with me?”
George nodded, and Dream smiled excitedly. “Okay, let’s do that.”
George turned to look at his front door, then back at Dream. “I gotta go, it’s late. Text me when you get home, okay?”
Dream nodded, then reached out to gently squeeze one of George’s hands. “Yeah, absolutely. Good night, George.”
George hesitated for a split second, then rose onto his tiptoes to press a quick kiss against Dream’s cheek. “G’night, Dream,” he murmured, then disappeared inside his house, leaving Dream on the porch in stunned but ecstatic silence.

Tree! (Fred Weasley X Reader)
 Writing Challenge
Fred Weasley X Reader
Prompts: 26. A: *B is driving* Left steer left!
B: *Turns right*
A:....You call that left?
and 34. A: Is this illegal?
B: Probably.
A: Are we still doing it?
B: Hell yeah!
Warnings: Swearing
“Get up, it’s time to go!”
“Shut it, Ronald, I’m sleeping.”
I groan and turn to the voice at the door. Ron is standing there, fidgeting and waiting for his idiot brothers to get up.
“What are you doing?” I ask, confused. Fred rolls and looks at me after turning to glare at Ron and hitting George with a pillow. George sits bolt upright and accidentally falls off the bed. All we hear is an “ow” before he stands up rubbing his arse.
“Morning Georgia, mind telling me where exactly you three are off to at…...3AM!”
“Uhhhhhh... I’m going to let Freddie handle this one. Ron let’s go get ready hmm?”
“Fred.”
“Hmm.”
“What are you doing? Can I come with?”
“According to Ron, Harry is being kept locked in his room sooooo we’ve decided to break him out using Dad’s car. And of course you can come love, I just know how much you enjoy your sleep.”
“Let's go then, Weasley.” I say, a small smirk crossing his face at my excited tone. We quickly race down the stairs and outside to where George and Ron are waiting. Ron looks like he is going to throw up. George just looks tired.
“Is this Illegal?” I ask Fred with a worried look towards Ron.
“Probably.” He answers, watching Ron walk over to the bushes and put his hand against the wall of the Burrow.
“Are we still doing it?”
“Hell Yeah!”
“We can’t just leave Harry locked up like that.” George adds from his position by the car.
“Let’s go Ronald, sometime this year, huh.” Fred hisses as loudly as he can without waking anyone nestled asleep inside the Burrow. Ron and George climb into the back of the car, I get in the passenger side, while Fred gets in the driver's seat.
“You have driven before yeah?” I ask, worried, as we take off to a very bumpy start.
“Of course I have woman, with Dad….once.”
“ONCE?”
“Shhhhh! They may still be able to hear you.” He says, eyes focused on the sky ahead of us. I grab the map sitting in front of me on the dash and start to give him directions. After several minutes and plenty of rough bumps, we start to even out and settle into a better rhythm.
“See, I told you I knew what I was doing.” Fred brags with a quick glance my way.
“If Ron throws up on me Freddie, I will hex you into next week.” I retort. George quickly agrees. Ron just groans and opens the window. The car flies at a moderate pace. When I check the time, it is nearly 5.
We still have quite a bit of time to make up for the twins not wanting to get their sorry arses out of bed, but all in all we make good time. I hear light snores from the back seat and look to find George out cold and Ron slightly less green. Then comes the difficult part: exiting the countryside. There seem to be more trees that Fred swerves to avoid. After about the fifth almost-collision with a tree, George gets up, smacking his brother on the back of the head.
“Ow, Georgie, what was that for?”
“Maybe it was for, I don’t know, the terrible driving.” I suggest. I receive a long, withering glare that almost results in two more tree-related accidents.
“Eyes on the road, sky, whatever!” I shout. “You know, I’m starting to think George should have driven.” I add.
“I was supposed to, until you decided to come and Freddie simply had to impress his girlfriend with his ‘excellent’ driving skills.” George grumbles before pulling Ron to his side so he doesn’t fall out the window as the car turns on its side to avoid another tree.
“It really is too bad we don’t have time to switch drivers because we still have to drive back with another person and an owl.” I comment after a few minutes. George snorts and Ron offers a small grin. After another half hour, George fell asleep again and Ron seemed completely fine.
Once we reach Little Whinging, I try to navigate to Privet Drive, which turns out to be more of a challenge than the trees.
“Turn left.” I instruct as he starts to go straight...into a house.
“LEFT! STEER LEFT!” Fred then turns right.
“You call that left?” I snort sarcastically.
“Which left? Yours or Mine?”
“We’re facing the same direction you fucking idiot!”
“Oh yeah, sorry.” He turns fully, causing everyone to slide.
“If you do that again I will kill you, even if you are my twin.” George threatens, annoyed at being woken up yet again.
“Sorry, sorry.” Fred answers before we pull up beside 4 Privet Drive.
Time skip brought to you by I’m pretty sure everyone knows what happened here.
The drive back was surprisingly uneventful compared to the drive over. All of us were thankful for the temporary respite. As we landed, a little bumpy, we got out and slipped back into the Burrow. While we hoped we had done everything undetected, we naturally could never be that lucky. Mrs.Weasley came round and started yelling at the boys. She did, however, make a point to say that she did not blame Harry or me, she even said she assumed I went to make sure the boys did not get themselves killed. Of course, she’s exactly right. Fred grabs my hand when she dismisses us all to go. He leads me back to his room where our crazy adventure began.
“I suppose getting yelled at was worth all the fun we had.” He concludes, flopping down on to his bed.
“Yeah, almost dying was so much fun!” I laugh as Fred pulls me down next to him.
“But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“I would. You are not driving next time!” George shouts as he collapses onto his own bed.
“Lee is gonna flip when we tell him what happened though.” Fred adds before closing his eyes and falling asleep with his arms wrapped around me.
@slytherinquill @im-a-writer-right
Please give any feedback you can. I haven’t written in a really long time, cause getting it out of my head sucks. Let me know if anyone wants me to write anything else in the future. I will write for almost any Harry Potter characters.
