Overall feelings on the Shikamaru book…..I kinda liked the first half because it felt like it was at least building to an actual conflict with an interesting but easy pay off. and then as soon as we got to sound it all started going downhill almost immediately. also Yano can NOT write ANYONE except Shikamaru Nara, which was both a blessing and a curse, cause the biggest takeaway from the book as a whole is more solid Shikamaru characterization, which to ME is worth it just cause I feel like I can actually write him now, but. many sacrifices were made along the way. and even the interesting stuff he did with Shikamaru (bisexuality, Danzou kinnie, kind of a grumpy old man of 19 years) were. on accident. I might read it again and referance back to it for blank period reasons, but overall it ended up feeling like a waste of time, barely worth the time it took to read. Shout out to @evilkitten3 for toughing it out and reading along with me or I don't think I would've read past Temari crying in the middle of a public hallway lmao. thank youuuu
